I've been living in the area for a few years and kinda gave up on good Chinese food in the area.....then I randomly walked by and do not regret it!! I usually get an individual combo which is $10 flat and it is filled with food! Really love the vegetables fried rice with the sweet&sour chicken balls If you are doing pick up, I HIGHLY recommend calling ahead as there's usually a wait time of anywhere from 30min to an hour but WELL WORTH IT I was told the parents originally owned since the the 70s and now the brothers run it.....a lakeshore staple!!!

The gem of Mimico is back! This is the best Chinese food you can get in Etobicoke and maybe even the province! This is a family run restaurant and every dish they make is amazing. Please be patient when ordering as it is just the family working and they do a large volume of orders, wait times are typically an hour which is worth it for this food.
I have been coming here with my family since I was little girl. They closed down for a few years during Covid and there was a void in me no other Wonton soup could fulfill. They have the best soups. The best food, and you truly are getting an amazing portion for what you pay. They’re only open for a few hours, but as soon as they open up they quickly hit an hour-two hour wait. It’s absolutely worth it. This is the best Chinese food you will eat in the western hemisphere.
We are happy that golden stove re open! Delicious food and affordable! We ordered fried rice , honey garlic chicken wings and egg fuyong ! Close to our house also an advantage for us!
Been waiting for ages and they finally reopened! I'm so glad to hear it's still the same owner and chef. I used to come here with my parents, and now I bring my own kids. You really can't find another family-owned restaurant like this one. And the prices are great, especially considering how big the portions are.
Almost 5 years waiting we finally got our Golden Stove fix. Some food is better; some is the same and a couple were just average. You cannot beat the value and service. Must have are Empress Chicken, General Tao, Chop Suey and the Egg Rolls. It is CASH only so be prepared! Note that service can be slow at times BUT everything is made from scratch at the time you order. They get lots of takeout orders so it may be empty but trust they are busy. Remember it is a small, family restaurant. If your in a hurry go elsewhere.
Every dish is tasty with generous amounts to share. A neighborhood staple.

Great neighbourhood spot for Chinese take out. Hot, fresh, delicious. Not much more you can ask for. Call ahead to order, bring cash - you ll be all set. Vegetarian options: Veggie fried rice packed with veg !

Been going to this place for over 20 years. Makes me sad that this place hasn t opened since pandemic started they did some renovations. Hopefully one day to see it opened again as their food is super delicious and priced well. I highly recommend this place to friends and family

Please reopen! I havent had a proper Chinese food, since you closed it, before plandemic. I spoke with you before you closed, cuz you were mad, I told my friend about your awesome place. You said, you are too busy already. Im sorry, but this is the best food in town. Im passing you place regularly, once a month, hoping you are open. I was glad to find, you came back from your fishing trip to hear about the renos, but you are still closed. Even my son misses your cashew chicken. Im begging you, OPEN! We miss you, we are hungry. GIVE US HOPE!

Drove by a few days ago and the place is looking very run down from the outside. Really doubt it ever opens again which is very unfortunate as it was the best Chinese food in the GTA.

5 star review isnt enough. This has been my go-to Chinese food restaurant for over 20 years. Ive yet to find something better in the GTA that would replace it. While the restaurant itself is dated and could benefit from a facelift the food is outstanding. Both in quality and quantity. Prices cant be beat either. Just the best! My favourite dish is the chicken Chow Mein. Delicious! UPDATE: Patience is key at this restaurant. Its a small family run place and they only cook a few dishes at a time so everything is HOT and FRESH. Orders can take a while as a result. Takeout usually takes precedence over dine-in.

Our family loves this place! We have never had an issue and it s always been a hit! Their empress chicken is delicious, and so is their spicy beef and broccoli...
Great food and very fairly priced. The man working there was taken aback when we asked if we could eat in, despite there being tables and chairs. We ate from takeout boxes and sat with the owners son - but it probably made me like it even more. He recounted us tales from his youth and advice for or own lives. Mostly wholesome

Amazing food. I havent tried the whole menu. I always get Cashew Chicken extra spicy, Cantonese Chicken Chow Mein and Golden Noodles hmmm. Cash only and sometimes most of the time busy.

Mimico s little secret no more! this unassuming little spot on the lakeshore has been cooking up dishes that would give almost any Chinese resto downtown a run for their money. The flavours, portions and prices are unmatched. With hopefully a makeover soon, Golden Stove could easily follow the footsteps of some of top 10 ranked restos dishes on the lakeshore.
Good place to grab food at throw away prices. The quantity is huge and it takes 3 people to eat the shrimp fried rice out here. (Which is just 6 dollars btw) I wouldnt recommend all the things in their menu. Just stick to the rice and noodles

Absolute Shocker! Called and ordered $35 for pick up. Asked for them to call when it was ready due to previous posts. He 100% garunteed it would be ready at 6:15... I arrive at 6:17. Barely acknowledged he said 5/10 minutes. Being shocked I just left and returned 13 minutes later. This time I was 100% ignored. Not even a hi or eye contact lol.... I cancelled my order and left. Save 5 dollars to deal with ignorance not a chance..... Buyer beware itsa slum and slum service

Great place for beginner and professional to eat Chinese food. Price is extremely reasonable, I think I took advantage of the owner... He was friendly, talking to his customers all the time. VERY generous and the portion is big!!! Especially the fried rice. Great deal.

Food looked amazing. Prices were reasonable. So why the 1 star you ask? Simply because my boyfriend and I couldnt eat it. When we arrived at the restaurant we stood there for 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. My boyfriend decided to call the resturant to see if someone would come to the front desk. The phone was in the kitchen and someone picked up. When he asked to place an order for take out the person said it would take 2 hours.... 2 hours for takeout at a restaurant that wasnt even busy? Well done Golden Stove.. Thanks for the food.
