Route 401 Diner is the kind of place you’re proud to call your second home with it's nostalgic, retro-inspired vinyl booths and vintage ads. Where you don’t have to impress anyone and you can come as you are. We believe that when you care about the people you’re cooking for, it shows in the food. We serve comfort food with flair and believe that food is best served when you're comfortable – and we look forward to making you just that. We invite you to experience a restaurant that takes pride in their food and customer service giving you the dining experience you, your family and friends deserve.
We loved checking out this tiny diner! I thought it was amazing retro vibes- it wills also be perfect to use in a movie for the local hangout, it has great design. The staff were busy but attentive. I had a turkey club that REALLY hit the spot. My friends slay really liked their 401 club. The only thing I didn’t love was their in house bread pudding. Sadly! I was all ready to love it but it just tasted off to me. However all the pricing was fair and it’s worth trying it for yourself! Great coffee as well. i don’t know if this is a weird thought but I think my dad might love this place and its vintage Americana so I hope to return with him one day!
Absolutely lovin’ this Diner 😎 Hungry Man’s Breakfast + 401 Route Burger; ->Is what ordered + their Iced-Tea. *quick tip* if you order those 2 items together, you can add american style bacon to your burger, making taste even better! … Not to mention, the atmosphere & the music in here, wow! #TorontoNeedsMoreCoolJointsLikeThis ❤️
A Nostalgic Trip to Route 401 Diner: A Delightful Experience Stepping into Route 401 Diner is like taking a joyful leap back in time to the vibrant days of the 60s and 70s. The ambiance is spot-on, with classic diner decor that makes you feel like you’ve just walked onto the set of a retro movie. The oldies playing in the background only add to the charm, creating a soundtrack that perfectly complements the setting. Now, let's talk about the food—because what’s a diner experience without some good old comfort food? The Greek Feta Omelette was a standout. Packed with fresh, tangy feta and cooked to perfection, it was the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger over every bite. And then there was the schnitzel sandwich—a delightful surprise that was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. It’s hearty, flavorful, and everything you could want from a diner classic. The service? Quick and efficient. The staff was friendly, making sure that even during busy times, we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. In short, Route 401 Diner isn’t just a place to grab a bite; it’s an experience. Whether you’re there for the nostalgic vibes or the tasty comfort food, you’re bound to leave with a smile on your face—and maybe a new favorite dish. Can’t wait to go back!
We were lucky to find this gem for breakfast via Google maps. Nowadays it's hard to find an independent breakfast restaurant around the GTA after all those franchise places. We were impressed by three things. - The place, nice retro-inspired environment, clean and plenty of parking. - The service, all staff was polite, smiley, and good service, - The food was a classic breakfast but we saw how, an independent place, gives much more in quality and taste. Food was fresh and not too greasy. We'll come back to enjoy the experience again.
Loved everything about my visit! My poached eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and the service couldn’t have been better. It’s a great place to have breakfast alone or with your family. I can’t wait to visit again.
A literal hole-in-the-wall joint that I stumbled upon looking for a breakfast diner in the area. I am beyond ecstatic that I found this hidden gem, and will definitely come back for breakfast or brunch to try out more dishes. The establishment is the definition of a neighbourhood diner, brandishing their pop culture memorabilias and nostalgic aesthetic. But that's not the only thing they got right, cause the food definitely screams home-cooked meal and taste like your favorite comfort foods. They offer a menu with all your favourite breakfast and brunch options, that you can customize to your liking. Workers are super friendly and attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. Overall an amazing experience visiting this location.
Food was pretty good! What you'd expect from a breakfast establishment. Service was amazing, they kept checking on us and even gave us recommendations. I tried an espresso with sambuca and it was tasty! We also had an apple pie which was just okay, the ice cream that came with it was good though! The vibe in here feels like you're on an old movie set, feels so cool! The walls have pictures of old celebrities hung up to add to it. The atmosphere is very cosy, you feel very comfortable in this place and we were not rushed to leave. Very chill and welcoming. Only issue would be the parking, when they're busy it's hard to find parking but other than that it's great! Perfect for brunch
This is what the owners say about their diner and I would agree on all fronts! “Route 401 Diner is the kind of place you're proud to call your second home with it's nostalgic, retro-inspired vinyl booths and vintage ads. Where you don't have to impress anyone and you can come as you are. We believe that when you care about the people you're cooking for, it shows in the food. We serve comfort food with flair and believe that food is best served when you're comfortable - and we look forward to making you just that. We invite vou to experience a restaurant that takes pride in their food and customer service giving you the dining experience you, your family and friends deserve.” Now, let’s also talk about coffee that’s pretty darn good although for me a little decaf would make it over the top! Food comes out piping hot and the eggs are exactly how I want them, over easy. I really like the home fries because they are super crispy. I wanted a kids portion of pancakes, my dessert and they were so accommodating which I appreciated. I do love the vibe and it’s off the beaten track. The most important is if we don’t keep saving the diner and deli there won’t be any left.
Indoor dining now available
Great place for a 60 s feel breakfast. Great Service, good breakfast choice and quality. You cant go wrong here. Parking: Right beside the Diner
Who says u cant go back in time great 50s look and vibe. Black and white movies pictures of the great movie stars and singers. Food was perfectly cooked in a timely Manor. Friendly staff!! I super recommend this quaint diner Food : 5/5 |
OMG, just fantastic 5+ Food
Service was amazing! Would highly recommend
Amazing food and service. The atmosphere is so much fun.
My local dinner... love it.
Not access to my sons wheelchair, I came in and nobody even cared about the fact that I was with my family at the venue trying. ramps for wheelchair is a must.
Excellent little Denver, it s a dated diner reminds me of the call of duty zombies diner. And they played earth angel :) great staff, food was served very quick and was delicious. Would recommend.
What a little hidden gem. The best compliment I can pay this diner is that I have no hesitation in recommending it, and I will definitely go back.
Food, theme and soundtrack were awesome, clean with fair pricing too. Very family friendly.
Ordered for the 1st time from the diner, the food was awesome and the staff was amazing in providing the service.
Cool little retro inspired diner! The breakfast was fantastic. Would def recommend this tucked away gem for breakfast or lunch! Food : 5/5
Great place, loved the cat clock, food was delicious, amazing waters. Parking: They were so busy that it was hard to find parking. Food : 5/5 |
Amazing people amazing atmosphere amazing food
Jeebus is. Fan of this retro diner
We visited there in August. Awesome diner!!
Potato Pancakes, 10/10! Omelettes, 10/10! BURGERS! 10/10! Personal favourite, crab cakes eggs benny! 167/10! Go here, don t think, just go eat here! If you re still reading this, that means that you aren t there yet! GO NOW!
Ordered potato pancakes. Was more like fried cake. No flavour of potatoes - no spice. Maybe some poultry dressing or some other flavour. Needs more potato in it. Did not think it to be worth anywhere near $17.00. Food is about presentation and flour. There was definitely not much potato flavour due to all the flour. The flour soaks up the grease and you attain other flavours (not the one that should be prevalent. If the flavour was there I might accept the price. It was not! Sorry that I am brutally honest. Really try them and you might understand too much flour!
Misleading description on UBER Eats. As per your description Three eggs any style served with choice of bacon, ham or sausage, home fries, toast, and jam. But when selecting my protein it charges me?
We had the pleasure to shoot a music video at Route 401 Diner, and it was an amazing experience. Milan the owner was extremely accommodating and the diner was beautiful to film in. Will be returning for sure in the future either to film or have an amazing breakfast.
Been wanting to come here for so long, today was the day and I wasn t disappointed!!! Loved the vibe!
Best breakfast ever!!
Today I went to have breakfast with my family. We had eaten at this restaurant before, more than a year ago, really good. The restaurant is nice, very retro. The service of the first waitress was so so. But the food was not the same. The club house comes with fries. The fries were greasy and cold, we didnt eat them, we called another waitress, with black hair in braids, and she said OK with a sour face. The sandwiches had no mayonnaise, they were very dry. Then the waitress asked us if we wanted the bill, without us having asked for it, and we told her that we wanted to order something else, and she showing her bad manners told us: Just ask, she is rude. We ordered 2 vanilla milkshake, so good, really, from the first waitress and she asked the other one to make them for her. I watched her prepare the vanilla milkshakes because I had doubts about how she was going to do it, after her attitude. When she served it she kept the rest of the milkshake for herself, she didnt serve it all, I know what I saw. Its not fair, because the first time we ate there, they gave us the rest of the drink in a separate glass and back then the food was very good but they are not the same people. As we are very educated and cultured and this is what we like to give, we gave the first waitress 20% of what we spent in cash. We give what we have left over, and always in a good and positive way. But, we would have preferred to spend the money on OLG! I am sorry, but something we think is good, needs to be corrected. Thats why I edited it. Because it wouldnt be fair either, that for one day, something is categorized as bad. Thanks Milan for reading and responding. The best for you.
Our offices are just down the street and we continue to love everything about the 401 Diner. The staff, the comfort, the food, the really warm welcome. WE LOVE IT!!!
Every time I come here its a 10/10 experience. Delicious food, gorgeous aesthetic, and lovely servers!
We love this place, atmosphere is awesome. Food is delicious and the service is just amazing. 100% recommended Food
Very nice lady. Very clean
Amazing breakfast/lunch/ dinner restaurant. The staff and the food are abosutly amazing. I go atleast once a week. I have never er had a problem with food or service.
A cool place modeled after the sitcom Alice. Service was excellent, waiter was fun to banter with. Only complaint was prices, very much Canadian lol
Staff was amazing
The cups of coffee were dirty and although we brought that to our server s notice, she didn t get us clean cups. The coffee was lukewarm. The food was a bit over priced and it came with seasoning of hair in mine.
Half our baseball team crashed in here on a Sunday morning after a rain out and the route 401 diner crew were great to us. Good atmosphere, good service, good food.
A quaint little joint, not much to look at from the outside but the food was pretty tasty and the service very friendly. Decor was classic 50s style. Parking: Very little parking spots available.
Great food and small restaurant with great service.. The food was tasty and filling, not overpriced . Staff was friendly and made sure we always had coffee.. Would recommend for a brunch or heavy breakfast.. Vegetarian options: Bread and Jam, Home Fries and Salad. Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu and milkshakes..
Enjoyed the breakfast... coffee could be a bit stronger
Absolutely have to stop here! Well worth it. Loved the vibe and decor. Staff was so friendly and kept refilling our coffee. Omelettes are delicious. I found the prices great too.
Fantastic spot for brunch. Tight seating inside, but worth the wait, as the food did not disappoint. The old time diner vibes play well in the atmosphere. Friendly staff to greet us, and help us find a table. There wasnt much parking on the busy day we went, so something to take note of if you are mtg up in a few cars to get here. Would recommend the potato pancakes - good execution of flavour.
Cute little diner- menu has great options for breakfast, includes kid menu- food was perfect and delicious. I had the Italian Breakfast Definitely recommend. Thank you
That was a great experience, great food, coffee. Atmosphere was fantastic mostly recommended
The food and service are really really good. Service was a bit slow on our first time but in this second time, service is really fast. And the food quality is excellent
Hi there, I just had to share my experience at Route 401 Diner! From the moment I walked in, I was transported back to the 1950s with their charming decor and classic diner atmosphere. The breakfast menu is simply outstanding every dish is cooked to perfection, and the flavors are unbeatable. Thank you, Route 401 Diner, for providing such a delightful dining experience. Ill definitely be back soon!
A 50s diner style restaurant. Great coffee. Food is delicious. Little quaint diner in the middle of an industrial area. Was pleasantly surprised. Food
The sausages almost made me throw up, price point was way to high and definitely not worth it, Ill never go back to be honest. It used to be so good too.
I was staying at a hotel around the airport and wanted a diner experience and this place delivered x10. It was amazing. Service was friendly and fast. French toast were soft but not mushy, and the bacon was cooked exactly how youd want bacon to be cooked. And best of all, coffee was fresh, hot and flavorful. Very happy and highly recommend.
We found this place only because we were in the area and hungry. Well, lucky day! To start, the girl who was our server was lovely. I had the crab cake Benedict and it was delicious, the crab cakes were obviously made in house not a frozen premade dry patty, and the home fries were crispy and not greasy at all. Overall a nice experience in a cool place. We ll definitely go back
One of the best (if not, the best) diner experiences I ve had
Food was excellent and super friendly service! We will be visiting back, coffee was good and the cup refilled often, Keep it up.
We had ordered Italian Breakfast, it was really delicious and the staff is also very friendly and welcoming. Best sausage we had till date.
For what youre paying, especially in 2024, you cant beat the food, the service or the atmosphere.
Love this place! It s like stepping foot into an old school dinner from the 60 s. The service is top notch and the food is always a hit! Would highly recommend!
Tried this place for breakfast after being recommended to me by my friend. Good service, Good conversation, Good atmosphere, good breakfast, good coffee, good price. Great overall
Food was delicious. Even got a coffee to go! Hot rod scotts recommended route 401 while I was waiting for my exhaust. It definitely didnt disappoint.
Really good food with big portions. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was massive, with fries that were seasoned just right. Very polite service.
Came to this quaint Diner with my family today - The ambience and background music quickly washes away the outside world setting in the mood to enjoy a true diner feel and meal. Love the 50s feel! The place quickly got packed - a testament surely to the establishments favour with the locals, but I mention this to bring light to the Service- Even though the place was full, each table was quickly attended to. It was a pleasure to see an all hands on deck attitude among the cooks and Servers. No allocated servers to tables only attitude here! So nice to see this in a world that has lost its decorum when it comes to Service! Each Server attended to seating, serving and dialoguing, even if it meant overlap. Lucia was exceptional, from seating, to serving, to overseeing meals provided from kitchen to patron, to ensuring those who were ready to leave never awaited their bill. Having been seated at the back of the restaurant, witnessing all of this was so nice. The food was a true diner fare, fresh, presentable, and in today s financial climate, portions were better suited to serve the patrons purchase than a stingy owner holding back. Thank you Route 401! We will be back!
Typical Breakfast place, the meat and eggs were nicely cooked. Everything else was just regular. Coffee was very watery and they wouldnt bring out the pancakes later, so that was cold as soon as it came to the table. Wouldnt go back again
Great value. Ambiance represents a 50/60s type theme. Portions lined up with pricing.
I was searching up breakfast places to go with my partner and I stumbled upon Route 401 Diner, this establishment became mine and his favourite place to get breakfast! The place is so cute, with the menus to the decor, I absolutely love it! The food is amazing and the coffee too! We enjoyed the food we both ordered a tradition breakfast and were shocked we didn t have to ask for bread and pay for it on the side, nice touch. I finished the meal with a milkshake and I was so happy the way it came just like back then with the cup and sprinkles with whip cream, totally awesome they also give you some on the side so if you finish it you can refill it yourself, the price for it all was very good! Will definitely be back, thank you to our waiter and crew they were very nice! :)
Delicious breakfasts! Cute of the path spot with great service. We ll be back.
We were in the area looking for food and all the good reviews led us here. The food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. Its a perfect little diner. Its been days and we havent been able to stop talking about how good our eggs Benedict were. I loved the homemade iced tea as well. Generous coffee refills yay! Everyone should go rest there asap! Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly bread Kid-friendliness: Kids menu offered and lots of kid shareables
As I took my first bite of what was labeled as a Greek salad, I couldnt help but wonder if I had stumbled into a culinary identity crisis. This salad was so off-base, it should have come with a passport from Albania. The feta cheese was as crumbly as a poorly constructed sandcastle, the olives were black and chopped up, no tomatoes or cucumbers but instead thinly sliced raw carrots? The chicken was thin, over cooked amd it felt like I was eating the Eucharist at mass. If this salad had a theme song, it would be Its a Small World because each ingredient seemed to come from a different culinary universe. Ive had better Greek salads at a toga party where the only ingredient was disappointment. Opa to a salad that should have been called an Albanian adventure because it took me on a journey I never want to repeat! All this enjoyment for the small price of $23 including tip. The service was nice and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Great people and great food. This diner is true relaxation. They actually get your food right too so you know that you will get what you ordered. Go take a look inside. I wont spoil the surprise for ya. All I would say is that they did it right. Thank you to all the staff.
Awesome place, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. We love this place!
Classic diner experience right here. The Eggs Benedict always hits the spot.
Great food, friendly service in a nostalgic environment!
Rexdale Gem Great service, food & music. This is what I want for a classic Diner.
Something Magical.
Good place to go back in time and have a good breakfast. Good meal
Great breakfast the hash browns are 10/10!! very cool 50s 60s diner vibes also Make a great club sandwich and everything is fairly priced
Great atmosphere, music, and food. Service was very quick even though it was packed. Posters by the bathroom were a vibe as well. Hubby loves the food Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free toast
Old fashioned diner that serves really good breakfast and lunch, and attentive staff who refill your coffee without being asked to do so. Sit by the window and watch the cars go by on the highway while you daydream of road trips you would like to take. What a great place to catch up with a friend, or enjoy time with the family, or dine alone, while the music takes you away to another place and time.
A 60s cool vibe. No muss. No fuss.
We did a few jobs for Route 401 Diner and they were excellent to work with!
Wanted a breakfast place close to airport-one friend flying in for a celebration of life in Brampton and our other friend living in Etobicoke wanted to surprise her. The location was perfect and food/atmosphere was great. Lucia our server was great and let us chat and catch up. We enjoyed our breakfast and vibe. Restaurant was constantly busy from when we arrived after 09:15-11:00!
This spot.....is a must! Food was excellent, service was with a smile, atmosphere was lovely. Only thing I would say is because of how popular they may be - an expansion may be necessary. The diner isnt that large but customers I think were mindful. We had French toast with bacon, one with turkey sausage, and a western omelette with bacon (my daughter absolutely LOVED IT). We were hungry and forget to take pictures of the food.
The bacon is amazing!
Fun retro atmosphere. Only complaint is it closes at 2pm for weekend brunch, but it does breakfast classics well!
Quaint diner for breakfast or brunch. Interesting location with an interesting decor. Perhaps will try lunch next time. Kid-friendliness: 60s diner setting the kids will find interesting.
Route 401 has become one of our go to place for breakfast. Nice friendly service and good food.
Loved the atmosphere and the service was 10/10. Food was priced well and quantity/quality was great too. Would definitely come back!
The diner is excellent, service is outstanding and the food is just perfection!!! A great diner experience! Will come back again and again!
Have been a few times. Like the place and the breakfast... still cost me a $50 with tip for breakfast for 2 people
Damn good! I love this place
Solid place for breakfast! Good price, good food, & good service. I d recommend to anyone who is looking for an all-around diner experience.
Had a great time celebrating my friends birthday. Amazing service! Amazing food! Great vibes. Thanks again!!
Super cute diner w great menu options. generous portions and friendly staff. Gives you that time-warp nostalgia vibe!
Milan and his staff are amazing. I requested a same day order for lunch for 20 people and they were prompt and the food was great! 401 Diner has never disappointed us :)
I think it was one of those hidden gems and looked like out of the old movies. Good food, Hailey was amazing... and Apple pie and ice cream just topped it off... must try! Its a casual Diner place! Loved it.
Absolutely stellar service! I had the chicken Parmesan and it didn t disappoint! It was super tasty. The milkshake was fantastic and the best part was the literal sprinkles on top. I highly recommend this cozy little diner to anyone that wants to travel back to simpler times when food was cheap and the portions were HUGE.
garbage restaurant i asked for a refund because my bacon wasn t crispy and the lady rolled her eyes at me horribe
My friend and I ordered the crab cakes (comes with potato chunks on the side), smoked salmon omelette (comes with potato chunks and 2 slices of toast), and a strawberry milkshake. The crab cakes tasted very good but I did not like the potato chunks because they tasted plain and the texture was soft/soggy. The smoked salmon omelette didnt taste very good either. The milkshake was yummy. Customer service was decent. I would come here again just for the crab cakes and milkshake. I also like the interior decorations and retro diner theme, which is hard to find these days in Toronto.
Very much enjoyed the retro atmosphere and the oldies tunes playing softly in the background. My spaghetti and mushrooms Alfredo was scrumptious! My 3 other dinner companions also enjoyed their meals immensely (two of them chose to have breakfast for dinner) and the prices are quite reasonable. Our server was so friendly and professional. I highly recommend.
The food is Amazing here! Menu options were perfect and tasted really good.
Unassuming from the outside, fun & nostalgic decor and atmosphere inside with a witty wait staff and delicious, well priced meals. Forgot to take pics of our cheeseburger and tuna melt but everything was perfect and would come again!
So if you are looking for that cute nostalgia diner to make your insta or Tik Tok shine, this is the place. Service was nice and simple and my food was solid. I went for breakfast had a Greek chicken omelette thingy and it was good. I want to go back for lunch and try it for food food. But yeah you got weak insta or think your a foodie of shorts this is your place.
Great service and good!
Great food and service! Will definitely come back.
Great place to get a solid breakfast with great service.
Service was spectacular and food was the bomb! Had their Hungry Man Breakfast and it definitely worth the portion
Very atmospheric place. Very tasty breakfasts
Their food was some of the best breakfast I ve had, and the portions were huge.
Amazing food and service. I love that they are open for dinner, perfect way to end the day. Mmmmmmmm
Popular spot with nice staff and good all Canadian food.
Super cute and delicious. Wish I lived closer!
Ive been a regular, though on an irregular basis, to this place since Ive moved to Canada in 2019. It is a perfect moment of bliss and beautiful interior design paired with their delicious food and equally great staff makes this a special place for me. Its the exact vibe a diner should have, from the portions to the music! If youre looking to get stuffed and to relax, then this is the place for you!
I called and ordered for pick up, and they had the food ready in 15 mins. The food was good and the service was great. No complaints.
Did not end up eating here as when we ordered coffee there was still lipstick around the coffee cup. Made us feel as if things are not cleaned or checked properly before put into use or given to a customer. Plus side you can seat yourself wherever you want but not all the tables were clean or set. Replying to the comment: the girl with the extremely long blonde hair said sit wherever you want as we were waiting to be seated and she looked at us if we should have known.
The pancakes were disgusting and both me and my children didn t eat them they were so bad. The hot chocolate was water with a hint of chocolate powder, the ketchup was rancid and when we complained about our experience it was met with a yah, we ve been told that before with no discount offered. We came from out of town and looked up reviews so that made us want to check it out. Don t waste your money like we did.
Good food and service.
Good service and cool atmosphere. I found the food was too greasy and average quality.
Sent caregiver to pickup order. When she arrived they asked if she was from grub hub. When she said no, they sent her across the street to another restaurant. Who did not have the order and sent her back to 401. They never asked if she was there to eat or pick up order. They just assumed. They then gave her cold food and were totally unprofessional when I called to complain. 0 stars
Great little diner close to the highway. Friendly service and good food. Will come back!
Our favourite place for brunch. Kid-friendliness: A lot of families eat here. Food : 5/5 |
Excelled food and service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The diner has a great ol school atmosphere as well. Highly recommend checking this place out for breakfast.
Awesome place I randomly found while looking at Google. Definitely worth it
Really cool 50 s style diner. Great food! Breakfast was amazing. Amazing art on the walls fill with musicians from the 50 s. Service is always friendly and welcoming.
Great tasting food and great service!
Great diner with fun Americana decor. Had breakfast here with friends, enjoyed the food and the service, no fuss! Would recommend to anyone looking for breakfast or lunch, place closes at 2pm on most, if not all, days.
Service is always great, they remember the locals that always come in. Owner does his best to please, stop by and check it out. Wierd area but its been there forever check the hours before you come Food
Atmosphere and the staff were great. We were seated next to a boisterous booth and politely asked to be moved. No issues whatsoever. And the food was wonderful. Our server was very personable and somewhat playful about encouraging dessert without being pushy. For a laidback good dining experience with down-to-earth staff and reliably good food prepared and presented with enthusiasm, I recommend this place. You can taste the love!
Really good place for breakfast!
Great staff, great ownership. Love going here. Service is just so on point
What a great place for breakfast. The retro decor and music feels like a scene from BackToTheFuture!
Classic diner, one of the best!
Something different Old neighbourhood! Was good! Food : 5/5
Ive never had a bad experience at Route 401 Diner. Food is always fresh, very tasty and hot, and the sarcastic atmosphere from the staff is refreshing. Great way to start my mornings.
Super quaint diner with awesome vintage vibes. Staff is great & the food comes out fast. Would recommend!
Great prices
Always great, food delicious service great, and that 50s atmosphere!!!!
Good morning, We can only recommend the route 401 diner! We had breakfast there every morning for a week now and have to say that it is one of the top 3 diners we have visited. The atmosphere is really nice old school, the food is very tasty and the team is really super nice and accommodating!!! So thumbs up and keep it up! We will remember you fondly!!!
Busy place on weekend mornings, amd totally worth it!
Good food at decent price
Feels like a roadside 50s truck stop diner. Love the ambiance and theme. Please has a retro grungy style in a good way. Food was awesome well-cooked and staff was attentive and friendly. The coffee was fresh hot and flavorful for me that is a bonus for sure Im a big coffee fiend! It might not look like much but I recommend trying this place for a breakfast meat with some friends. Parking: They have a handful of parking spots so on a busy day good luck! I got lucky when I went I had parking spots and it filled up quickly.
Nice old feeling inside with cool decorations from the 50s. Very welcoming environment. The food was great and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Great service , very clean and the food was prepared perfectly!
Such a great little spot. Went for breakfast and it was incredible, had chicken omelette and wow. Hash browns are good too. Staff was so kind and friendly. Atmosphere is a cool retro diner vibe. Really good prices ! Will be back
Great location....great food Best BLT in a long time Food
Really poor service. If the place is full, don t elect to sit outside. The food quality is okay, seems a bit pricey for what it is but that could be inflation. We went for breakfast twice. Both times we couldn t get a booth because of their seating policy for two people. This time around, 4/5 booths were with 2 ppl. I was hesitant to go there the second time but wanted to give it a shot due to its location. Today, even when we asked for an empty booth they said it s reserved for groups. Definitely didn t feel welcomed or wanted. Needless to say, there won t be a third time. Good riddance.
Kitschy standard solid breakfast fare with interesting and Friendly staff.
Food was so delicious. Atmosphere was pleasant with retro decor and great music selection. Our server Alex was just amazing!!
Parking: Always a space for my car Food
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Good parking.
Very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast!
Good breakfast place.
Love the music here, the atmosphere is fantastic. Jukebox favourites
Delicious food, cool atmosphere
We made a pit stop at a diner along the 401. The service provided by the staff was exceptional; they were attentive, frequently checking in to refill our coffee. The atmosphere included a charming vintage vibe. Our dining experience was mostly great, with one notable exception: the home fries. Unfortunately, they had an odd, almost chemical taste which took away from the otherwise enjoyable meal.
Delicious food, great staff.
This place is to die for! My daughter brought me to celebrate with a birthday breakfast! Such a cute little place, the vibes were 100% old school, and the service is superb! The food was fresh, made to order, and did not disappoint. The menu is so classic, which makes it easy to choose from, not overwhelming like other establishments have with an overload of options. Im in love with this place & will surely be back with the family
The food itself is quite expensive compare to other places and theyre kind of cheap with portions. Ive been here twice and both times the home fries were cold
Always comeby when I visit Hot rod scotts, last time my brother and I had the breakfast and it was absolutely amazing and this time around for lunch I had their Hamburger and wow that beef was full of flavour and so juicy fresh, and the service as always is amazing, love route 401, a must try!!
This place has a very retro look to it! Very nice staff! Good food for at a very decent price! Highly recommend!
Wow
Really cool place! Takes you back in time!
First time there had the fish tacos, they were excellent! Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.
Would not recommend. The owner (Milan) made us feel very uncomfortable but we still sat down and tried the food. Safe to say it was a huge disappointment and not worth the money we spent. I would write a comment as to why, but the owner would try and argue against it anyways and say that no one else complained about the food that day. Clearly he needs a lesson or two about how you cant please everyone and another lesson on how to accept it.
Update As a loyal customer who advocated the Route 401 Diner, I was disappointed with my experience today. Allow me to set the scene. 10:30am - between the breakfast and lunch rushes - with of the tables empty (3 booths, 1 large table and 1 bar stool available) The lady hosting told me, I only have space for a solo at the counter . The counter spot would have me shoehorned between two hefty boys. (Not a comfortable place to eat a meal, in fact, I could not eat without bumping elbows with both of them). She told me that I d have to wait if I wanted a table. A few minutes later a couple came in and were promptly seated in one of the 3 available booths. I could have been in and out of the place in less time than it s taken me to write this review (I wasn t there to socialize, I was hungry and on a tight schedule), but somehow in this lady s mind it was better to destroy the loyalty of one customer than risk keeping two waiting for a few moments with the next rush at least an hour away. The food is still good and it s still a cool atmosphere, but I don t suspect I ll be suggesting the place to my airline colleagues & peers, or friends, again. Previous review . Another great Diner find. The food and service are good; great prices and a fantastic atmosphere. Opening a little earlier wouldn t hurt <hint>.
Very great old school vibe nd home cooked meal. Always busy but worth the wait for sure
Stopped in for breakfast while transitting from Toronto to Niagara Falls. Very happy we trusted the google search for nearby breakfast joints. This place is top notch with a great 50s diner vibe. We had steak and eggs, French toast and kids pancakes; all were served fast and tasted delicious. And the service was excellent: friendly, attentive and efficient. Definitely the place to go!
Definitely has that 50s diner feel. Service is excellent. The food unfortunately is below average to poor. For any of the platters that have hash potatoes, they are typically over cooked from frozen and taste horrible. The eggs are extremely small, it s hit and miss on how you want them done. Omelet s don t taste as you would expect. The meats in the dishes are cooked inconsistently. What made me write this review was an undercooked sausage which Managements response was to offer a minor discount. There is a definite lack of desire to deliver a consistent product. Overall nice people but there is no reason they can t improve on these issues that are very easy to fix if one wants. Would not recommend at this time.
Late brunch after international travel. Quickly seated and order taken. Food was well presented and prepared. Coffee was underwhelming but its a diner. Refills kept coming but had to repeatedly ask for more cream (5 times 2 Servers). Little off the beaten path, nestled in the industrial are around the airport. Sufficient parking. This has all the vibe of a 50s Diner with requisite decor. The booths are a bit uncomfortable as you feel the back and movements of the person in the booths behind you. Still recommend this as a hidden gem.
