Food was awesome(sandwich)but price was way too high.
Tried chicken steak recently, it comes along with rice, gravy and mango juice. The food was delicious and fresh. The restaurant is clean and best option for Somali food.

I don’t know how authentic the food is, I’m not too familiar with ethnic Somali food, but whatever this is, is really good. The chicken steak is really delicious. They’re most known for their ribs though. Which are amazing but I don’t like eating with my hands and I’m not a huge fan of fat so I usually go for the chicken. Rice and spaghetti are solid but nothing special, like a 6 or 7 out of 10. I’ve never left this place disappointed in the food. Drinks are super sugary but also really good. They have mango and lemonade, the lemonade being less sugary than the mango. All in all, if you like saucy meat, this place is for you. They also have fried chicken legs, beef steak and salmon. All are great but you’re really missing if you’re not going for ribs or chicken steak on your first visit. You can try the rest another time. I hope this review is of help to whoever is reading this. Myself and my buddy was invited to this restaurant by a Muslim brother and two other Muslim brothers. The atmosphere wasn't anything great to talk about, some may even consider it to look a bit outdated. The food took a about 10-15 mins. to get to us. We ordered the rice with beef ribs, we got mug of complementary delicious mango juice. The food was ok, texture of the ribs was soft and cooked well, the portion of ribs came in one plate and the rice came in a separate plate, the rice was very flavorful by itself, portion sizes wasn't bad for the price. There was even additional space In the basement for dining but it seems to be used as space for salaah. I would most likely visit this place again.
This is the first place I got introduced to Somali food I would say dating back to 2006-2007. I've tried a variety of their dishes my friends and I have decided its a must to get the beef ribs 10/10. The food comes in very genrous portions, refills on the juice. Im really sad and dissapointed that they stopped serving soup they mentioned its only seasonal now for winter I beleive. I drive an hour from the eastend and when there is no soup I am sad. I have taken up my frustrations with them many times but they dont seem to care. They have one the best soups I've had compared to other Somali spots. Bring back the soup permanentley!!!!!!
I have been going to this restaurant ever since i was a child. I always order the same thing "rice and ribs". With the new renovations the place looks far better than it ever has. Edit: moving the reastaurant up to 4 *. Things have improved, food is still fantastic.
Very clean and welcoming Atmosphere! The food was great and specially the chicken suqaar had i think BBQ sauce on top of it but it was juicy and delicious. Would totally recommend this spot for others to try their great food!
Update* This restaurant literally went downhill. Quality went down its always a hit and miss with this place. The owner doesnt have any respect for long time customers. They run out of meat and rice everyday basically. They also stopped the soup and make excuses saying they dont have it or its not made today. I decided to not come back here ever again. The last time I was here the owner gave me a sports place with very little rice and roasted potatoes in the middle which I literally didnt want. The plate had no vegetables on it either. Also the last time I was there I came 30 mins before closing time, I sat in the back where they have the big tables (restaurant was literally empty) the owner said sit on the table for 4 as people may walk in. Who the hell is gonna walk in with 6 people 30 mins before closing? Pricing is too much $48 for one sports plate after tax isnt worth it one bit. You lost a customer of 15 years.

Worst customer service. I couldnt believe how rude the guy behind the counter was . Its a family owned restaurant they think they say n do whatever they want telling customer to pay cash otherwise they charge more for paying debt or credit scamming trying to avoid paying tax to government. come on guys at least be profisssional . They have to be reminded they are in Canada. We must pay tax and have customer service skill . The food was ok nothing special. Never coming back here Guys try to avoid this place.
The food is delicious and the hygiene isnt bad , but the worst costumer service I ever seen I wont recommend especially dealing with kid at cashier lazy and unprofessional too no soup no banana I hope the management look for soultion for this problem

Food is what human need to enjoy whether ordering from or dining, but when it comes to restaurants, it must have a good customer service and experience is important. However, I never wrote restaurants complain before this one. The guy there @Rasta@ will treat you like come to beg, has no experience to serve costomer, has no tolerance to listen what customer is ordering, while i was dining he was physically present but mentally absent. As well hes rude boy. While I was there view minutes, I was saw how he was dealing with let alone men but our community ladies. Uskug

The pasta is very salty and taste like it was thrown on the microwave and pre heated. The food is horrible I dont recommend anyone to come here
Amazing food
The rice was cold and bland. The meat tastes like it is undercooked and thrown in sauce warmed in the microwave and pre-heated. Sadly along with bad customer service, the food is now below average.
Use to be really good, they need to go back to old standards.

Love the ribs and rice. Brother at the counter is very kind and respectful. Far drive for me as Im in the Waterloo region but always always worth the drive.

Ribs amazing
Had the BBQ ribs with rice and goat curry with their bread. The food was AMAZING! The spicy sauce with the rice is so good and the ribs were falling of the bones! They dont take credit / no tap so be sure to have debit/cash!
This restaurant has good food but horrible customer service, it s family owned and the owner lets his abusive son run the restaurant, he s always fighting with customers and being awfully rude . I would definitely not being coming here again and I would not recommend anyone to come here

Excellent food and equally great staff The only reason this isnt 5 stars is because they dont do delivery. Theyll get their 5 star once theyre available on doordash or ubereats (Edit: They now do delivery through SkipTheDishes. Heres your 5 star)
This restaurant is always a win for me. Home cooked food with a home cooked feel. The ribs with rice is my favourite dish to eat, I always ask for extra sauce on the ribs and hot sauce on the side! The hot sauce is not for the faint of heart, it will cause internal temps to rise! Consider yourself warned!! But the complimentary mango drink will help extinguish any fires!

Etobs use to be my fav place to eat whenever we would visit Toronto unfortunately with their recent changes (having no sport) it has been a total disappointment. The fact that the rice and the meat aren t even on the same plate it drives me crazy! How am I suppose to eat that! Use another plate!? I mean if we are going to serve Somali cultural food let s present it in a Somali cultural manner! Even after looking past the dingy bathroom.. I can t do it anymore..
The amount of ribs for the price is amazing. Very tasty, cooked perfectly and goes well with the rice. Dont feel fooled by the area and the plaza looks a little sketchy but hey as they say. Treasures are always hidden in places that you will never imagine.

It s so sad how terrible the costumer service has become at one of my favourite somali restaurants. I have no idea with whats going on with management but i hope they get their act together soon. Least of the issues i have is the quality of their food has become subpar. Please get it together guys. I would hate to never have your once amazing food again

The owner is very disrespectful when i asked him where he gets his meat from he was saying madina but I asked him if I can see the invoice he got more angry and he never showed me the invoice and he was saying I am Shia because I am asking where he gets his meat from Muslim brothers we should try stay away from people selling haram and tricking people like this If the meat was from madina he would have no problem showing the invoice just like how the other legit halal restaurant do not have problem showing there invoices to there costumers

I called the restaurant and wanting to know what kind of food you guys have. He hung up and told me Google it... Google it. I dont think these people know how to run business. Still they think they are back home... I dont care if the food is good or not. Worst service ever. I will not go any place where they dont treat customer nicely. Rude as hell.... I cant believe it and they prostrate. Its completely rude.. Then I came to know from other that food arent great either and they arent clean.
