Delicious Greek salad with the most flavourful chicken! Yum!

I recently dined at Greek Taverna in Etobicoke and, unfortunately, left feeling underwhelmed. The bright lighting didn t create a relaxed dining atmosphere and felt more suited for a takeout spot than a restaurant experience. Speaking of takeout, it seemed like takeout orders took priority over diners, impacting service times our meal took over 45 minutes to arrive. The food was a mixed experience. While the moussaka and Greek red wine by the glass were highlights, the fried calamari tasted no better than frozen retail options, which was disappointing for the price. Given the cost, I expected better quality and service, which left me feeling it wasn t a great value overall.

The food is exceptionally average. No 5 stars for anything I could but at our local Supermarket.

Beef moussaka tasted beefy. Everything was tasteless. No salt or seasonings used? The baklava sauce leaked all over everything and the paper bag was soaked. Definitely not worth the money spent. Wish could get money back because the entire meal went in the garbage.

Came here for my bday on August, absolutely delightful, the food the service. Recommend the lamb and those giant portions of rice and potatoes are always welcome. Cheers!

Had an amazing meal here! I ordered the lamb souvlaki, and it was delicious. The lamb was tender, and it came with rice, potatoes, tzatziki, and a tasty salad. The food was all really tasty and well prepared. They give very large portions for the price you pay. The restaurant had a very nice and welcoming environment. I also had a chance to meet the owner who s a very lovely and hard working person. Highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys Greek food!

I usually dont leave a Google review, but I had to leave a review because it is the best place in Ontario. The food is excellent, and it even has its own unique style with it. I had grilled octopus ( make sure to eat with the bottom layered cabage), Moussaka ( you should really tried this home styled cooking, hot and sizzling), and chicken souvalki; their chicken soup is great too .

Love the food, looking for an authentic greek restaurant and it was worth going over there.

The food was delicious, the lamb rack was very tender and Juicy. The Pork was also delicious. Service was amazing and would recommend anyone. 10/10 will be back.

Don t order food during busy times. It s a shame because the food is usually spot on, but we waited 2 1/2 hours for a order to be delivered and my chicken was not cooked properly so by the time it got to us, I couldn t even eat it. I asked for potatoes and no rice of course that wasn t done properly either I won t be ordering from here ever again.

Literally so good I had to call the store to tell them. If you ve been disappointed by every Greek spot in your area like me this is the ONE!!!!! Lamb was unbelievably delicious, spanakopita are enormous and come with two huge pieces, potatoes are unreal and the rice is perfect. Not a single miss 10/10

It was my first time trying this place and I thought it was delicious. The lamb chops and the pork souvlaki were both excellent. Everything we had was very good and Ill definitely order from here again.

**FOOD POISONING ALERT** ALL 3 PEOPLE THAT ATE THE CALAMARI WERE VIOLENTLY SICK THE FOLLOWING DAY. One is in the hospital, the other is at home throwing up, and the third is less severe. I went to the restaurant to let them know of the issue. I had given them a $45 tip after our dinner even. Gave them an opportunity to take responsibility for it. I said it wasnt personal, or against anyone, it happens, and they should know it and take responsibility as people are feeling it. They refused to accept any responsibility, and simply said their food is good. Although people are from different households, at the same calamari, and had similar reactions the next morning! Would recommend not going here at all. They then put a post calling me a liar, after having 3 family members sick. Place is pure misery.

Today I visited this Greek restaurant and the food was amazing and beautifully presented. The dish that I ordered and the food overall was delicious, one of the best meals I ve had in a while here in Toronto. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Had lunch with my girlfriend here today. Its not really greek food- its like fast food, with poorer service. Wouldnt go back. Some big chubby bulgarian or something with bad english kept coming up to us from the back- had no idea what she was saying. Wouldve been better to make good food instead of bad food and chatting us up for some reason. Save your money. Better options in the area for sure.

Best place and best Greek food in Toronto i recomended it

I absolutely adore this place! Ive been here more than 3 evenings, and it has been a delight! The ambiance is so charming, with great music playing at just the right volume. The waiter is a real character, but in the best way possible friendly and incredibly helpful. The food arrived promptly, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! The chicken dinner was fresh, warm, and incredibly tasty! I highly recommend it! The house-made pita bread was warm and oh so tasty too! The salad was amazingly fresh, To top it off, they even treated us to some mouthwatering honey-cinnamon sticks, on the house! Its little touches like these that make you feel truly welcomed and valued as a customer.

Replying to the racist comment of Mizo construction. First of all, no one should discriminate a woman for her appearance, big chubby. Weight is just one aspect of someone s overall well-being. You do not know if there is a health issue or what effect your comment has on the psychology of the person you re blatantly criticizing. You re referring to a persons appearance in a derogatory way and this is considered bullying and body shaming. We are in a country where everyone has the right to work without have to feel judged by their external appearance or origin. You certainly dont know what that person is going through and the fact that even if their English was not perfect or their appearance was not up to your standards, youre no one to judge and make such pejorative comments. At least they are willing to work, make a living for themselves, do their best in a foreign country, and to top it all they have to deal with such negative and diminishing attitudes. Youre welcome to comment on the food and services without having to discriminate people this way. P.S. People who comment on other people s weight gain and degrade them this way are more likely to be riddled with self-criticism.

Really went down in quality but raised the prices. The rice is very plain, unlike before, no cinnamon sticks with a large souvlaki order, unlike before, one olive on the salad, but $5 more for the same order. I think new owners.

Best Greek restaurant in the area Hands down and their Greek salad is to die for I know its kind of cliche but theyre a homemade dressing is out of this world.

A go-to spot that is consistent every time! The portions are amazing value and everything weve tried on the menu so far tastes amazing. The Grilled Octopus and Grilled Veggie appetizers are a particular fave, alongside the Chicken and Lamb Skewers. And we love the addition of the Honey Sticks in every order!

Best Greek in all of Canada for sure. I travel to every city and have been all over Canada this place has the best Greek hands down love it every trip back to toronto I look forward to this place.

Decent Greek food in the heart of the Kingsway. We had 2 dinners to go, one pork and one chicken. Small size was more than enough.

Terrible service. Ordered ahead was told 30 minutes. Gave it 45. Theyre often busy. Got there and was told i had to wait. Ok. Finally after 20 more minutes I asked....oh you didnt tell me...told you my name and what was in my order. The food is fine. Its generally cheap and cheerful. Not this time. Late, cold and rudely delivered. Staff rude and totally indifferent. So, See you. Actually no you wont see me again. We live in the neighbourhood and there are other options. When you mess up, own it try to make up for it....dont blame the guest. Stay away if you dont want to go away mad. Im just going away.

I used to love their Fakes Soup, but even that has gone down hill. The staff is sooo rude that I can honestly say I will never go back. What used to be a favourite go-to place has now become a not a chance in hell place!! 0*

Best greek food- spanakopita and Chicken salad are my favourite. I come here every few months. Its clean, staff are courteous and friendly and Food is delicious. Highly recommend. They also give you a small piece of dessert after your meal for free which is an absolute treat.

Ordered food for the first time from this restaurant..this was the Worst Greek food I ever ate. Chichen was so dry and rice and potatoes Werent fully cook. One bite and in the garbage it went.

Used to be Good. Unfortunately, everytime i order a chicken dinner for takeout, find the meat to be undercooked (sometimes pink), even when asking it to be well done. Thus, i cannot eat it. The portions are huge, which is what you want, but the meat needs to be cooked better.

This place never disappoints me! I highly recommend it to everybody to try at least once and you will be forever their customer. It s been 4 years we come to this place every couple of months. Tonight, I suggested my family (15 people) to get together for a NY s dinner at this place and their service and food were as perfect as before and everyone loved it. I always get a rack of lamb and my partner gets large Gyro. The taste is other-worldly and the portion is nicely big. Their salad is delicious full of feta cheese. I appreciate they could keep the prices the same as before. It s always affordable to eat in this resturant. And thanks for the cinnamon bread which was on the house. We will continue coming back to this resturant. Just one suggestion: do whatever to improve the ethnic soul of the resturant. Picking the right music with the right volume can help. Decoration is great.

Great restaurant with large food portions. I have been coming here for at least 6 years, and I have never been disappointed.

Food was delicious but lamb came out way undercooked. The servers were nice but barely came by- only once when taking order and only to bring out orders. We had to go up to find them to request more drink and food orders. They were too concerned with take out orders than in house customers.

Delicious lamb and potatoes, we spent very pleasant two hours here and will be come again.

I am Greek and can tell you, best Greek food in the city!!! We order Souvlaki Hut Greek Taverna from Uber eats at least once a month.

This is our go to takeout place when we want something fresh and healthy enough and don t want to cook it ourselves. The food is delicious and consistent, and they give very nice portions. Absolute gem in our neighbourhood.

Order here all the time. Usually its amazing. This time the tzatziki (which lets face it is what is the best part of Greek food) what so awful. No garlic just cream cheese. When you pay $90+ for 2 people. EVERYTHING need to be propper!!!

The food was really good, authentic and well prepared. However, the service was very slow. We waited quite a long time for our food. We also ordered a kids meal, which didn t arrive for quite awhile after we got our food. Servers are not overly friendly or engage. They didn t do a quality check on you or even to refill our drinks. It appeared they do a lot of take out with the amount of couriers coming in and out. I highly suggest doing take out only.

If I could give a zero I would. I had a horrible service here with the staff, my one item meal I ordered on Uber took them 2 hours to complete and when I went to pick up it wasn t even ready. I was yelled at by the staff and I was waiting on the side of the road for those two hours and I still didn t get my food or my refund. This is a horrible service on my end.

I always get an order of the Spanokopita when I m at work on the same street. This place was recommended by another teacher I work with. It s always made fresh and taste super good! They also recommended the vegetarian wrap which I will try next. I keep forgetting to take a picture of the food but here s a picture of their cute decor.

Amazing food and nice atmosphere for a casual lunch or dinner. I had the Greek Salad with Vegetarian Moussaka and my partner had the lamb pita sandwich. The moussaka was so filling and delicious, really an amazing vegetarian option. The portions are very large and you can certainly share, and the prices are fair for the quality and size. It is not cheap, but you can taste the quality for sure.

Went there to pickup.The staff said it s coming. I said how long it s gonna take. She said I don t know. Great little greek restaurant. We had the lamb dinner and greek souvlaki pita with greek fires. The lamb was delicious and very nicely cooked, they ask how you would like it cooked too. I ordered the large for 2 skewers but the pieces were so big one skewer would have been enough. The rice and pitatoes were delicious, the greek salad nice and fresh. The chicken souvlaki pita had big chunks of chicken fresh tomato, onion and tzatziki. And the fries did not feel too greasy at all. They also added in their honey sticks with cinnamon and they were delicious. Everything was authentic tasting and very well done!

The most bad food ever I eat in my life and I been in there kitchen and I was a delivery guy for them there kitchen is so dirty the dont wash nothing if you care about your clean food I dont recommend it

I ve been to this restaurant many times, the food is good and the service is even better. Everyone greets you with a smile and the employees are really friendly. Overall this place is one of the best, their mousaka is great, it s a busy place but not once have we gotten bad food from them. As you can see in the picture we ate everything we could, whatever was left we took it home. Thank you Greek Taverna! Kid-friendliness: This place has no problem with kids. They always try to include kids into conversations, for example asking their name or just a simple playful smile.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! My family and I visited on a chilly November evening but it wasnt too busy. The staff were really friendly and attentive. And the food was really good. The portions are pretty big, so come hungry, or bring some left overs for later :) Probably our families new favorite Greek spot! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can get in easily, but access to the washroom is down a staircase.

I genuinely like this restaurant and on my way home on a Friday night i was excited to stop for a meal. When i arrived at 3 minutes after 9, the lady washing the floor was very abrupt and unapologetic when she told me they closed at 9pm. I asked why does the hours on the door say 10pm.... she just shrugged and really didnt care one little bit. Its Friday night! I guess they dont need the business. I instead went to the packed restaurant next door and found a new favourite and they were happy to take my money. Do better!

Greek Taverna is our go to for great Greek cuisine in Etobicoke. We recently placed a large order for our sons birthday. Our guest loved the food and Greek Taverna did a great job with the larger party platters. Thank you for being consistent!

Wow - expectations exceeded - very satisfied and happy with the overall atmosphere, the service, and of course the excellent tasting food!

If I was on death row the chicken souvlaki dinner would be my last meal

Ordered two large souvlaki dinners via telephone. Drove 15 minutes to pick it up. Waited almost ten minutes in line, for a pick up. Paid 63 dollars via credit card. Drove another 15 minutes home to realize they only gave me one souvlaki dinner. Drove all the way back. Manager was no help. Did not offer to compensate me for my time and gas. I asked for full refund at this point because I was furious. To top it all off they couldnt refund my credit card because of incompetence and gave me cash. Will never return to this establishment. Absolute waste of time and money.

The food here is just perfect. You should definitely try their gyro which is fabulous. I am not a fan of red meat myself and always prefer to go for chicken instead, but their gyro is something else. The portions are also very good!

Amazing place with a warm home atmosphere and delicious Greek food

Great food; generous portions.

We ordered for pick up - 2 chicken dinners. When my husband came to pick it up, they charged him for two but only gave him one. He had to wait for unorganized service. When he went back to get the other dinner, they provided a refund but did not honour anything (like a free meal) for wasting our time, gas money, and now hungry children. We will not be returning to this location.

Great value and consistent quality. We always have a takeaway so not comments on the inhouse service or ambiance.

The 2 downside to picking up here are that the order is most likely not going to be ready on time and theres no parking

The food was so simple but SO tasty! Also, beautiful portions. I tried the Kataïfi desert for the first time, and it was the best. The server was so nice and kind too. Will definitely be back soon.

I really like the food here. Small place but they put a lot of effort into the food and it shows.

It was very delicious, the food portions were large and had to take some home we filled up on appetizers, great atmosphere, good price , and they gave us complimentary dessert , would definitely recommend

We accidentally bumped into this place while looking for something else. Excellent greek food. My wife ordered chicken souvlaki dinner and I ordered Lamb chop dinner. both were cooked perfect and had good flavours. Staff was attentive and showed great teamwork. The place is clean and very well managed. Will visit again soon.
