Purchased a cheese burger combo and it was the WORST BURGER AND FRIES IN THE WORLD the fries were greasy and over salted the burger was made fresh but it tasted horrible I took 1 bite and threw the whole meal out the car window .... $17 for the meal and the ketchup.in Cuba taste better the good quality eas disturbing NEVER AGAIN

Just had a meal here. Stuff is great especially waitress, kitchen help, do it all lady. Super fast! If I had my restaurant Id hire her now and double the pay! Burger was great! Thank you!! Food

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They offer a wide variety of options and asked if there were any ingredients you dont want in the dish that you order. Food was great and price is very reasonable.

My husband has been telling me about this spot for years! I was proud to tell him he was RIGHT! I dont eat from fast food chains ( Unless its Taco Bell) but I do crave a good burger from time to time. I am beyond impressed with Magic Spot! The burger was juicy, tender and accompanied by great toppings! I was even more impressed that they had NO issues with my substituting the bun for lettuce. The food is wonderful, the service I received was great and overall the experience made me write this review and tell others about it! Im already looking forward to my next visit...Anna said they have a great Greek salad... looking forward to testing it out! 9 out of 10 #supportlocal

Delicious Greek food!

I ordered from Uber Eats. My 2nd time ordering from this place. I liked it so much the first time, I HAD to come back for seconds! The Chicken Souvlaki Dinner was great! Portion wise was really good. The chicken was juicy and tender and well seasoned. The rice was tasty and so were the potatoes. We got a nice side greek salad with the dinner and garlic bread, too. 2nd time we ordered the steak dinner which my hubby really liked and it was perfectly cooked and the steak was tender. I ordered the Chicken Greek salad. It was huge! So much chicken and super tender and juicy as well. Everything was delicious! And reasonably priced. We will be back to try other things on the menu!

Have a customer of this restaurant from 1996, Im glad the new owners keeped the same recipes and food and the environment of the original one. They are all great and full of energy. It was my first time trying this place. I ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner. The rice tasted very weird and almost sour. Unfortunately, I had to throw out all of the rice. The potatoes were bland, and the chicken souvlaki didn t have much taste. The garlic bread it came with was burnt. I wouldn t order from this place again.

They literally make the BEST Gyro in town. My whole family loves their gyros too. We ve been spoiled and can t eat them anywhere else now.

First of all, let s just call this place a Spot. Stopped in here Friday afternoon after work, after years of almost avoiding this place, and was not impressed. It s just an average Greek-style souvlaki/burger joint. Add to that some downright icy service. Smile,it s free, you should try it sometimes, it makes customers feel that they are appreciated . As for the food, imagine a sub-par Harvey s-style banquet burger with a soggy bun that can t stand up to full toppings, along with a large order of soggy fries without a hint of crispness, and you get the picture. And at 17 dollars, without a beverage, is pricey. Don t bother responding to this review, I won t be returning to your, um, Not-So-Magic Spot.

THE best place to eat, amazing food, great portions, and really down to earth people working there. Their tziziki sauce is to die for. Every time I go I have to reconvince myself that Im alive because the food is so good i think i died and went to heaven.

The Magic Spot is old school, good, fast, food. They serve excellent Greek food that is well priced and delicious. The staff is always super nice and make the simple surroundings always feel welcoming.

I never write reviews but since Ive been going to Magic Spot for a very long time. With the older mom & pop retired from what I was told, my recent visit saw that with the Pork Souvlaki that I ordered, the rice and potatoes were bland but also not all that good like they used to be. Hopefully the younger people who took over can keep the quality to what it was with the previous owners or I guess Ill have to call it a good run for me so to speak and stop visiting the establishment.

Reading replies from the new owners to complaints of their food, is astounding at how arrogant they come off as. Ive been a long time patron from way back in the 90s and saw ownership change. I tried to give these new owners another chance but they are super inconsistent. I had the pork souvlaki dinner and the salad [dressing] is different now. Tzatziki has changed. The potatoes were not fresh and severely under seasoned. The taste and quality isnt there anymore. And Magic Spot owner, dont tell me Im wrong in my criticisms... I know how good this place was and how its gone downhill. Even if you tell me Peter comes in to check; its sad because this always happens when new owners take over. It was a nice run for me but not coming back. Waste of money.

Honestly I wouldn t call this Greek food got lunch for 3 people today and must say the food is below mediocre. Rice and potato was bland, I had the gyro which is standard frozen just grilled the others chicken souvlaki way over cooked. Not to mention tzatziki is just yogurt with dill and a lot of garlic. Garlic bun instead of pita not very Greek the only staple which you can t really mess up on is the salad. Overall extremely disappointed with the quality considering 3 meals came to $75+ delivery. Unfortunately there isn t much around South Etobicoke but will def not order from here again.

Ownership has changed, but the nostalgia has not. Large menu with many great options. Enjoyed my order and the evening server was very kind and attentive. Usually get a burger with fries, but the chicken souvlaki dinner is always satisfying as well.

Gave me burnt chicken and moldy salad

Was our fav. spot for many years until the ownership changed. I went back few times, not the same. Then was there few days ago and was upset the taste of chicken souvlaki was changed, pretty bland. There was no Greek taste of lemon, garlic and special Greek spices such as oregano. What frustrated me and felt insulted when I asked if the previous owner was still operating, I was told he makes all the skewers downstairs and theyre still around. Let me tell you one thing Peter the previous owner will never cut corners or change the taste of the food, I can tell its not his doing. The facts, my take out food was put in a reused plastic bag that smelled like curry. All the way home as I was driving, I was like whats that smell in my car, where did that come from. I get home and open the bag reeked and when I got the souvlaki dinner, the garlic dip was placed inside the hot souvlaki container, the dip melted and smelled bad. COLD stuff should be packaged with salad, cold only. The chicken was dry and tasted like it was boiled, they only grill it in front of you, Im pretty sure its boiled first. No consistency at all. The problem with any restaurants that I had witnessed in the past 15 years when they change management under East Indians, the quality of food gets bad and the smell of curry & onions is everywhere. Ive witnessed Subway, Chinese food, American, Greek or what ever, as soon as East Indian takes over, things go south pretty quickly. E. Indians should stick to their own food, theyre good at it, quite frankly, I love E. Indian food, but not when they take over a different ethnicity, they destroy it including pizza. Facts of life. Im not going back to Magic Spot cuz it lost its magic.

Unfortunately I did not see the value of eating here... I was dissatisfied a couple years back and decided to try again only to be disappointed again!...... Shame on me, ya ! I know Maybe this will help them get past their idea that they offer value... Their salad over salted which wilted the lettuce. tip: let people salt their own salad keeps it fresher The large portion of anything should feed at least 4 people by min standard not 2 burger really lacking since when did mayonnaise become a standard topping on burgers. Maybe their trying to copy Big Mac? and the patty blah! Burgers are charred, this one with shredded lettuce and 2 tablespoons of mayo made it gross and patty slipped out of soggy bun! rice tasted like something stale very bad tasting not sure if it was day old rice soup or their bouillon or flavoring or something was expired. It was awful (threw it out) Souvlaki on a bun was not cut in half.... Portion of tomatoes and onion diced to imperfection nothing traditionally Greek here.... And lastly! not one napkin in the bag... not! one ketchup or pepper or salt/vinegar to garnish the rings or fries. How cheap is that!! You think after all the alike reviews the owner would make some changes.... At this point its just stealing. No thank you magic spot , there wont be a third for me.... Replies not necessary.

Update; I ve given them 4 chances and it is just not working out with the new owners. I wish them well but after 30 years I m going to stop ordering. The food had a hair in it today, and I was given pork instead of chicken. I don t eat pork but the texture and taste was definitely not chicken. I 100% without a doubt know it was pork and I gave the meat to 2 others who all confirmed it was not chicken. This is very serious and I m not impressed. How would someone think they could slip this past someone is beyond me. And the hair was just an added disappointment on top of the pork. I m sorry I apologize if I ve offended the owners but I am spending a lot of money here and each time there have been small issues although the quality of the food is excellent. I don t like complaining but being served pork when I ordered chicken is a huge deal to me.

Honestly, this place is so amazing. Even though they switched owners recently the new team that has taken over has upheld the quality and consistency of their food and service. I am a pretty picky eater and they get my order right every single time, and they always remember my Dad and are so friendly and kind when he calls. If youre going to support a local neighbourhood resto and want something thats both delicious and healthy with reasonable prices, I cant recommend this place enough. Pick up is always quick and fresh. My family orders the greek salads with chicken or pork souvlaki at least once a week and will continue to do so!

Been a 30 year lifer at the spot. Today was the first time souvlaki dinner and side salad were in styrofoam instead of aluminum. Rice tasted very bad. Not bland but like plastic. Feta cheese on salad seemed less crumbly and more runny/pasty. Friendly staff.

Lived in that hood over 15 years this was my go to Greek food. After the new owners took over it was not good at all. I stopped going. Yesterday I decided to try it again. All great again. Jr chicken/pork solvaki with rice salad was delish.Magic spot is back and food is fantastic.. I am so happy the magic has returned.

I love this place! The owners are very friendly and the restaurant is clean and well maintained. Their prices are good for the amount of food that you get. I can never finish my meal and often have to pack the leftovers to go. My family and I have tried many of their menu items and theyre all excellent. I love their breakfast and chicken souvlaki dinner. Theres Green P parking everywhere at a reasonable rate $3/hr. The restaurant also has a liquor license and small outdoor patio. Ive also used them to cater for events! A neighborhood favourite.

I ordered a steak dinner for my husband and I to share via Uber Eats - our 1st time to order from this restaurant. We are very glad that we did! The steak was grilled mid-rare perfectly and the sides were very good, also. Well worth the price and it arrived fast. We hope to be regulars at Magic Spot Grill.

This review is solely based on the Chicken Souvlaki dinner - it was just OK. The food was prepared quickly for takeout and the price was very affordable. That being said, the chicken was a bit dry with the rice and potatoes being on the bland side. I recommend for the Greek salad to automatically have dressing on the side as it was quite soggy by the time I ate it at home.

Old School Grille...great menu...good food..best deal on Bloor/Kingsway

To be fair, I arrived here 15 minutes before closing time a few nights ago. I ordered the regular Banquet Burger and a large onion rings...The burger was very tasty!...although the bacon was way too crispy (it was already precooked and warmed up on the grill)..the burger itself reminded me of a thicker version of a regular Harveys burger...The rings werent thick and doughy (as is my preference) but they had a very nice, thin crispy batter ...once again pretty much the same as Harveys. The quantity of rings was very fair. The major problem that I had was the taste of the rings...I think the oil was old and it had it left a nasty burnt aftertaste. Like I mentioned I did arrive very late so perhaps that impacted the quality a little bit. The two guys behind the counter were very nice. I will most definitely be visiting again very soon...Next up, I must try a home made Banquet Burger and fries with gravy..Im a huge gravy connoisseur

Recently I went here with my family, as I have been here several times, and I must say that we love it at the Magic Spot. The atmosphere is amazing, as the spot is very cozy. Its a great spot to eat, especially with friends or family. I most often order the BLT, and its a simple yet amazing sandwich. The bread is very crisp and so is the bacon. The food tastes fresh, and the fries on the side are delicious. The service is very good, and the people working there are always kind. The souvlaki is fantastic, and so are the other salads. The menu is incredibly diverse with many different options, making this restaurant suitable for many people. I would recommend this restaurant to nearly anybody, as theres something there for everyone, and the food, environment and service is fantastic. Overall I would recommend this I hope I can soon eat there again, as its simply a great place to eat at.

Pretty gross. The food safety and handling is very poor. While they were preparing my food, they were wiping their noses and touching the eggs and bread, then touching the money in the cash and going back to touching the food...when I said I no longer wanted my meal, the woman gave me so much attitude and became very defensive and asked me what my problem was - not a fan of this place at all.

This was my 2nd visit. Ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, the portion size was really good and was really tasty. The elderly couple are warm and welcoming. They prepare food like its made at home, fresh and healthy. I will definitely keep going there.
