5140 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON M9A 1C2, Canada
Regularly hosting live music, this Irish-themed watering hole serves traditional pub fare.
A really decent option for dinner, with the food being priced quite reasonably and the portions quite large. Our server was amazing and did a great job juggling our large and unruly group with many bill configurations. Only downside was the so-so band playing onstage. I would come again for a big or casual dinner.
Cozy local irish pub and restaurant with many seats and light music going. the christmas decor and low lighting made it so homey — weekdays are perfect for a chill date night. service was efficient and the Wednesday $15 burgers is a great deal - shepherd’s pie was hot and fresh but a little salty - royale burger was HUGE, good cheese, but patties could use some seasoning. fries were cooked longer so had the perfect crisp n crunch that not many places do. i like that - sticky toffee pudding with custard was great. quiet sweet — wish it was a little salty to balance it out. huge portion!
At all costs, AVOID THE NACHOS. All chips. No cheese. And very little of anything else. It's sad. You essentially get a plate of dry chips. And they're $26. We mentioned it to the server, who responded, "Yah, I get that a lot." And that was the end of it.
Had a great time with a group of friends for drinks and dinner. Decent selection of draught beer on tap. Chicken wings were very good, and we also enjoyed the Chicken Country Pie. Truffle Flatbread and Sweet Potato Fries were pretty good as well. Overall, great place with decent food and good service.
Great food & service. Loved the shepherd's pie, hunter's pie, ribs, wings & pasta. Our server was awesome and gave great suggestions. Loved the sticky toffee with caramel sauce she suggested for dessert. Top it all, here's live music too. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 👍👍
I had a lovely Sunday brunch with my family at St. James's Gate. The food was delicious, and the coffee was strong and hot—just the way I like it. The atmosphere was nice, creating a perfect setting for a relaxed family meal. Overall, a great experience that I’d recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot for brunch.
This place was highly referred by foodie on the block and let me tell you it was delicious. I forgot the name of this meal but it is basically a crispy chicken sandwhich made to perfection with juicy succulent meat with crispy coating. The fries were also made correctly and fresh to order. No stale fries here folks! The weather was in our favor despite the original ran forecast as we sat at the patio enjoying our meals. In terms of free parking they had a few limited spots otherwise you pay by the metre behind the restaurant 10 seconds walking distance.
Visited this place on a Saturday night. Our server was fantastic and catered to our needs well. The beers on tap were also great, but very pricey. The live music was also great! Although the service and atmosphere were fantastic, the food was extremely lacklustre. We ordered 2 things: 1) Double order of wings with a side of fries: half honey garlic and the other half hot. The wings were not that good which was disappointing. I personally feel that it was how the wings are cooked, not the sauces used. But at least the French fries were great! 2) Half rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. This dish was very disappointing. The mashed potatoes were probably the worst mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life. Also the ribs were not good. Although they were somewhat tender, the flavour was lacking. If I do come back to this pub, I will go for the beers and atmosphere, not the food.
Great food, pub spot and service was good until I tried to get the bill while there might have been a shift change. Still good experience and reasonable prices.
This place is amazing the service is off the charts and food is good the burgers are juicy tender and flavourful its like an exploision of flavour in my mouth everytime I take a bite.
Went there for my first time recently and was impressed. We ordered nachos and it was probably the biggest plate of nachos Ive had at a pub ever and they were well done. Prices were decent and I certainly look forward to going again.
Nice bar
Popped in for a Guinness, they had a live band on Sunday afternoon. Great vibe !
One of my fav pubs
LIVE Entertainment
Great environment, good food and beer!
Food is delicious, must be a new chef. Make sure you are clear on what you want. Not too expensive. Have been coming here for years at least 3 times a year. A little hiccups 6 months ago but back to its delicious self again.
Amazing place Love the food and atmosphere
Good food/drinks, good atmosphere with live music, great friendly service. One of the local favourites
I made a reservation for 25 people on a Saturday for lunch. The service was really good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Food
After a change of ownership the good old Gate has returned!!! Half price apps 2:30-5 and 9 to close!!! Beer specials too like a pint of Bud for $6!!!! Food : 5/5
Great food and vibe with live music!
My fiance and I came here for breakfast for the first time, we have been here before for lunch. We really enjoyed our breakfast and the waitress was very friendly and pleasant with a good sense of humour. She really made our morning. Thank you Katrina
I had an amazing experience at this Irish pub! The food was delicious, with generous portions and authentic flavors. The atmosphere was inviting, perfect for a night out. The service was top-notch friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!
Parking: Go early, plenty of parking Food
The food was alright: had the French dip sandwich... The bread was hard and almost stale. The fries were decent. The staff was friendly.
Where do I start. From the moment we walked in on a Saturday afternoon at 2:00 this pub was lovely to visit. We were a party of 17 for a 90th birthday. The little room off the main dining area was set for us to enjoy, it was absolutely lovely and accommodated our family easily. The staff was second to none. The young lady that served us was great. Drinks , food , atmosphere, accommodations were just perfect. The food was delicious and on point with pricing. The drinks on tap and made at bar were also great. St James s Gate is a jewel of a pub and having really truly attentive and wonderful staff is key here. Recommend 10/10. Definitely will book another family get together here as well make it my new go to for , a nice lunch or dinner. Thankyou thankyou St James s Gate and staff
Great place to eat and live music !
Great pours but slow service
Excellent place.
Waitress was clueless with complaint about unacceptable quality of the meal.
Dear St. James Gate representatives, I wanted to express my highest recommendation for your Irish Pub. My husband and I have been regular clients for some time now, trying everything on the menu, and each choice has been absolutely delicious. Please pass our congratulations to the Chef and the entire team. We especially enjoy the live music please keep it going!
Can t say enough about how good this place is - proper British style pub, great food, great beer, cozy and inviting. Awesome patio
Do not go to this restaurant, their service staff (at least the ones on the patio) are the absolute worst. I recently visited St. James Gate and had an extremely disappointing experience (Friday evening Jul.19/2024). Everything was fine initially when the greet staff directed us to a table on their outside patio and handed us menus. From there it went downhill. There were 2 wait staff who appeared to be serving the outside patio with about 12-15 tables in total with about 6 occupied. While we waited to place our drink order, we observed one of the wait staff have an extended conversation with a customer, for at least 5 minutes. That in itself wouldve been okay until our waiting continued. We saw the second wait staff come out 3-4 times and go to select tables for a few drinks, a bill, nothing major. It became clear our area was the second wait staff. By then about 10 minutes had passed. A few new clients were seated in the patio. We waited another 5 minutes or so. So have been waiting 15 minutes now.....approximately. We even see the second wait staff glance an eye in our direction, as she walks back inside and fails to even greet us and let us know she hasnt forgotten us. The first wait staff proceeds to greet customers who had just arrived and told them if the other wait staff doesnt come along soon, she will serve them. This was the same wait staff we observed having an extended chat with a customer while wed been there now for about 15 minutes and she went to the table that just arrived. We had enough and left. What a pathetic way to treat new customers, instead of seizing an opportunity to make a good impression for possible repeat customers, the restaurant blew it big time. Now I have to try and convince my 16 year old son that we werent treated this way because hes of mixed race. To be fair, I never saw any direct evidence of treatment because of this but it sure makes you wonder if it was part of the reason for the poor treatment (so be wary of this as well!).
Great service, old traditional pub. Draft beer selection only has lagers, wish there were real IPAs. They have two patios: one in the front and one in the back. The back one is nicer and has some more sun. There is also parking at the front, and green p parking right at the back of the restaurant. Pulled pork sliders were delicious.
Classic Irish pub, patio out back
Food was good and arrived quickly however one order was not quite right. More importantly we had asked 3 different wait staff if we could be moved to the patio. Two other pairs arrived after us and were transferred while our requests were ignored except for we re very busy today . They obviously couldn t care less if we were happy or not. Not returning.
Took 10 mins to get a menu-had to ask. Toilets were disgusting. Fish was terrible quality and poorly prepared. Fries were fine. There are many other solid pubs around no need to go to this one.
Sat there for 15 minutes all I got was my knife and fork . Not even a hello. It wasn t even busy
Great place to go after work or weekend with a group of friends for food and drinks! 10/10 totally recommend.
Miserable staff and very rude on the phone.... Im only speaking about the front staff.
Definitely recommend it
The server and manager of the establishment was disrespectful. I advised him that we were waiting for over 30min for him to attend to us after dropping off our meal. After I voiced my complaint about him making us wait, he said well don t leave a tip excuse me? I come out to eat for an experience not to be treated with disrespect and with a lack of care. They served me flat sprite and I wanted to order another drink for my meal but I couldn t even do that. I was staring and trying to wave him down while he walked by on numerous occasions all while serving the tables near by. He proceeded to get upset with us because we were voicing a complaint. I don t understand how people like him are employed in customer service.
Used to come here every now and then. We came for Mothers Day and while the food was good, the service was mildly infuriating. Our drinks were sitting at the bar for 15 minutes before our server remembered about us. I ordered eggs Florentine and the menu stated there are 3 poached eggs, I got only two. When addressed this wirh the server they just shrugged and acted like it was okay. One of us ordered desert that took 15 minutes to comeand we were already done with this experience and ready to go, so asked for the box for it. It still took some time to get the box, but it came with nothing to lift the sticky pie off the plate and transfer into the box. We asked for utensils that never came, so we just left.... I understand things cab get busy, but these are just basic things that should not be happening.
Great place to meet with friends. Nice patios and wonderful staff there. Thank you to them for the enjoyable lunch.
Great daily specials.
Nice Irish pub with a great terrace facing the back, so its quiet. Good selection of pub food.
Can t wait to try the wings
Gone for years as it s close to home. We went this week and while having our dinner noticed that a staff member was refreshing his ice twice while we where there in the bowl of ice intended for new clients and ice water. You can use your imagination, but it was disturbing and not hygienic at all. Told our server that was just gross and a big health and safety concern. Made us wonder about our meal afterward . Don t think we ll be back.
Very slow service
Live music is back! Missed this place so much. Food is phenomenal as usual.
Its a perfect place to hang out with friends, Love that place
You will grow old by the time you get served Since the owner responded to me, I want to also note that if that s his attitude to customer feedback and customer relations, no wonder the service is so bad
Our waitress (blonde, younger woman) was great and very fun. Food was pretty good too.
Great dinner and live music performance. Service was good.
This place is great.
Be forewarned - Unfortunately, although I have placed orders by phone for pick up of their fish n chips numerous times in the past, tonight I was advised that is no longer permitted.
The waitress was fantastic. The food was yummy. First time here. Will be back again !
I had a very good night with my friend here, nice atmosphere and good service, kind staff and lovely live music
A really nice pub on Kipling! Had some Pinot Grigio, Irish coffee, beers, with chicken tenders and the Bookmakers sandwich with some sweet potato fries. Delicious!
The Irish stew and dip sandwich were so hearty and delicious. Terrific food! Homemade/in house, fresh soda bread to boot! Would return if I were a local.
Went on a whim on a Friday Might have been an off night I suppose Food - French fries were awesome, burgers way over done and dry. Its a pub, what pub messes up a burger? Service - there is no excuse for the service, multiple followups just to watch the server say yes checking on the item to then walk by the bar or kitchen and no action Atmosphere - Live music was great, we were there for 1.5 sets
Amazing Irish pub, kind and knowledgeable staff, fast service, great food, not over priced.
Good old Irish pub with a warm and homie feeling. Classic menu items. We had a delicious brunch and great pours of Guinness. There s also a great selection of whiskeys. I ll definitely be coming here as much as I can.
Really has gone downhill. Food is terrible.
Ive been a customer for many years and tonight was the first time the service was very slow, mainly because there was only one server and the bartender helping out. They had a party in the back and both the Leafs and Raptors were playing. Im not sure what happened but they were grossly understaffed. The food was delicious though.
Amazing stuff
Amazing place. Love to come here with my family or at night with my husband for drinks when kids are at their grandparents.
Nice pub. Little expensive.
Very busy at times so service can be lacking but the food never disappoints. I go there for brunch usually.
Kim, one of the few remaining longtime staff members was fired this morning apparently, in part, because of a perceived negative attitude towards customers. I find this assessment of Kims professionalism to be particularly laughable since it is given by Bob-on-the-job, the Gates dour, overbearing and unpleasant manager. He speaks to customers only when spoken to and most of his time seems to be spent lurching about the restaurant with a piece of paper in his hand while he tries to look relevant. The heart of his mission seems to be making it to 2:45pm when he pours his first Guinness of the day. I would say it is time to abandon ship but it appears to have already sunk. A sad end to what was once a most inviting establishment.
I have been attending The Gate for years now with local folks and family from Ireland when they visit. Food is always delicious and atmosphere uplifting. I love the innovation to their menu, giving their customers a new and fresh experience every season. Bands and events are always fun, and I have hosted many birthdays and retirements in their back party room. The owners are welcoming and open to hearing customer suggestions. The staff work hard and check in often, making sure we are taken care of. Lots of parking front and back. Have fun folks!
Nice place !!
Monday lunch time so quite quiet for a catch up with friends. Great service, no hurry to vacate our table. Decent beer, reasonable prices for good pub food - what s not to like!
Love having brunch here with our big group of friends. It s one of the few spots in the city where you can have a nice gathering and not feel rushed or like you re sitting too close to other people. The service here is also so great! Special shout out to Jake - he really went above and beyond for our table by being very attentive and welcoming. The food is also great overall - especially the brunch menu is pretty standard and delicious. Kid-friendliness: Really easy to bring in a stroller.
Great place, we were 7 people. Our server was very responsive and we never felt like we were waiting too long to place an order or receive anything we needed... We just had some potato friends and Kalamari, both the items were good.
Always been above amazing. And is always super busy, but get seated. Used to that because its a great spot! Havent been in two years covid fun.buuut unless they are black smithing hockey pucks, burger didnt have any juice left,so im guessing new cook. Our server.. saw em three times.. collected my own napkins an utensils. music was great but murdered that burger. Fries good other meal looked tossed together but good.
Great local pub!
Good food. Great people. Live music with 2 outdoor patios.
really love this location
Great bar, as a Brit it felt homely. Live music was great if a little to loud though
Really cool atmosphere would give it a 5* if a food quality was a bit better. But was still good food and pleasant staff.
The reason why I am giving 3 stars is the ladies washrooms were dusty and the containers that hold ladies waste were OVER FLOWING. Otherwise food, service and atmosphere was good.
Wonderful atmosphere. Wasnt too busy and there was a great selection. Even on a hot day the front patio was still thr perfect place.
It was nice place.
Staff was overwhelmed by a large party. Taps were entirely conventional.
One of our favourites. We hosted an event in their private room, and they couldnt have been more lovely and accommodating.
Live music here
Terrific Irish pub with a great selection of tasty food. It is a bit pricier than I expected, and you have to be a local (or go a couple of times) to know how to park out the back and get in. You cannot drive straight into the front lot from the intersection if youre facing the front and not coming from the side. Other than that, nice spot.
The only problem we noted and discussed amongst us is that they like to call the patrons guys. To the management and staff! It is politically incorrect to address a group of women/men as guys! Also addressing a group of women as guys is demeaning to women, it erases who they are! This is discrimination towards women!! They are not men but of the female gender. We did mention this to the server that we were not all guys at the table, but it was totally ignored. SMH!
Great lunch specials on Wednesdays - check it out
Old fashioned Irish pub. Everything is just perfect.
Pretty good pub. I wish I had tried the nachos, they looked amazing. Will come back.
Great spot loved the atmosphere. Food was ok, but not great. Would give them another chance if im in the area
Great staff and delicious food. Good selection of food and drinks from across the pond.
Home away from Dublin
Great atmosphere, a great night out with friends.
My girlfriend and I had nachos and a beer, the service was horrible as it took over an hour to get nachos and when it finally arrived the cheese was burnt, we had to send it back and wait for a new one. So in total we were there for over 2 hrs. Now we both are feel nauseated from the nachos, there should be something done about this, I would not recommend going to this pub, we will not be going back for sure. As well I would like to add that when we asked for the bill it took the waiter another 15min to give it to us , we had to go inside to look for the waiter. Once again a very horrible experience.
Meh
Got seated first. Got our menus after 3 other tables get seated, ordered, and drinks served. Good policy, first come, last served.
Customer service If you want to ruin your lovely time by rude waitress (Sefra) then it s good place to be in. Terrible service with lot of rushing up (on less busier time), rolling eye, wrong information about food item, incorrect billing and aggressive behaviour.
Great service, excellent place to go for a quiet Wednesday night out
This is a great neighborhood pub. They serve Irish fare, have a great beer selection and drink menu, and always have friendly service. Bonus that there s live music every weekend!
Had a real bad experience with one of the server. She literally shouted at us. Really bad and embracing experience. I have been a regular customer to this place but I will never ever visit this place again. From the start we noticed that the server had a racist behavior toward us. I have never faced such situation, me and my friends were not treated well and every other table was served well. In the end the server even had a fight with my friend and was not ready to accept that she didnt treat us well.
Terrible service. Entitled waitresses, very racist towards brown people
Food was decent, just some of the sides were tiny, like costco sample size small. The baked beans tasted liked tinned ones and came in those costco paper sample cups. The salad side for the eggs benny was also pitiful. The food was tasty though, service was nice and great time on the patio. Food
I ordered a ceaser salad with chicken, which was amazing. Congratulations.
St James s Gate is a wonderful place with delicious food and amazing service. I have been going since I was a wee lass, and have never had a bad experience. The servers are energetic and friendly, the food never misses and the live music is wonderful. It s an amazing hidden gem. I would 100% recommend it.
Attended a retirement party approximately 150 people. Every thing was fantastic Nice outdoor deck Parking: Park behind back
This place is good for standard pub food, drinks and live music. They have a back patio and a front patio. My husband, a couple of friends, a couple of family members and I enjoy coming here.
The staff is really great. Food quality has went down a little, but the pandemic has affected everyone. Youll always be well looked after.
The food was very good and portion size just right. The service was exceptionally good and wait times reasonable. This is a favorite with the family, always delivering friendly value and quality.
The sausage rolls here are the best!
This is a comfortable and friendly pub! A great place where you can enjoy a good pint of beer, have some food and some good conversation. It has a variety of appetizers and main courses, including some delicious traditional pub meals. There are a variety of beer selections on tap, including 4 Irish ones. Whats not to like about a chicken pot pie and a pint of Smithwicks ale! Or you can have a lighter and delicious salmon. The service is prompt and friendly. The prices are reasonable. You can sit at a table or at the bar.
ASK FOR BRAE , hands down best service we have ever had coming here. Most times we try to avoid this pub due to service and time it takes to even get a menu 30-40 minutes ++ BRAE ..seriously tossed all that nonsense out the window and made our time and effort worthwhile !!!! She s hands down the reason we will come back !! **Cheeeeers girl keep it up !!!! **
Overall, not a bad Irish pub. Good live music. Unfortunately they will be closing in a year so check it out now before they close.
Only there for a brief visit, beers and nachos! Would definitely go back!
All around great place!
shame this place is closing down. its got quite a charm and the staff is friendly.
Rude staff
The recent decision to discontinue the weekly specials at this pub left me quite disappointed. These specials used to be a highlight of my visits, offering unique and delicious options at a reasonable price. Without them, the menu feels stagnant and less enticing. However, its important to note that the atmosphere and service at this pub remain top-notch. I hope they reconsider bringing back those beloved specials to enhance the overall dining experience.
Staff were lovely as always, but the removal of all daily specials is a significant setback. If the management doesnt reconsider these changes, I fear they may lose more loyal customers like myself who enjoyed the unique offerings and affordability that set this bar apart from the Crooked Cue.
A cozy Irish pub with some of the best food specials in town. Monday wing night and Wednesday burger night, don t miss! Have a royale with cheese! Rumoured this place may relocate due to construction, get your specials while you can! Live music on the weekends.
The food wasn t great, neither the sweet potato chips were crispy/chrunchy nor the potato chips that came with Chicken fingers (both soggy) Another thing They charged us 18% on the bill plus 18% I tipped, on questioning the 18% on the bill, the waiter said that the initial 18% was towards the house, while the other 18% on top of the total of $150 was for the waiter. So I paid $178 in total for a bill of 3 pitchers, 1 chicken fingers and 1 sweet potato fires.
Good atmosphere but the food was awful! Cold fried that tasted like leftover. Dont waste your money on food here. Service is also very slow.
Always great food, atmosphere and service
Food was good. I really enjoyed the soda bread with my Irish stew. Service was good.
I ve been going to the gate for years, staff is always great, friendly, and service is great overall. In the last while they have changed their menu. A bunch of favorites are now gone like the mussels, fried chicken sandwich, steak frites. New management is also really rude to staff and customers.. I know this place is closing but hopefully some changes will be made.
A great place to grab some pints with some friends! Our server, Boris, was excellet and gave his honest opinions on beverages and food - the food was surprisingly good for a standard Irish pub. I had the sausage roll which tasted freshly prepared and definitely hit the spot
Good Ambience with some good staff and food .. And the booze of course.
Food is excellent! Hot, fresh, and very tasty! Good service and atmosphere. Big pub, lots of space. Close to home, so I will definitely visit again.
Decent selection of beverages, great menu. Friendly service. Parking is a bit dicey, as its on a main street.
If I could give this place less than zero, I would. We were seated at a table and minutes later told that of the servers wanted to serve our table. What the in the actual geeezus is going on with this place. I ve never in my life experienced anything like this.
If I could give less then a zero rating, I would. If you are looking for a great night out, DO NOT go here. My gf and I were there on the weekend and the service was absolutely the most unprofessional I have ever experienced. I will preface this with the fact that this wasnt our first visit there. Previous visits were enjoyed but this visit was my last. The hostess sat us down with our menu and was lovely enough. About 15 mins later, she returned to tell us that the waitstaff had let her that know that the waitstaff were not going to serve us. We asked why and she didnt have a clue why the waitstaff collectively refused to serve us. A few more minutes passed and we waved the hostess over to ask to speak to the manager. She went to go tell him only to return and let us know that he didnt want to speak to us. WTH?! Again, no idea why this was happening. Finally one of the waitresses came over to reiterate that none of them were going to serve us. Again, asking why....she said that she was not going to serve us because we were mean to Erin. Of course, we had no idea what they were talking about and who Erin was. Again, we were perplexed. Finally, the manager came to our table and said they werent serving us because of Erin. The manager finally said that it was an incident that happened 3 years ago on St. Paddys day! What?! First off, we didnt go there 3 years ago but we did 18 months ago, whereby, Erin put her hand on my girlfriends arm, in a completely aggressive and unprofessional manner. The incident escalated to involving another waitress who again, was overly aggressive in her behavior. At the end of the incident, the owner dealt with the incident, apologizing to our party about the very poor behavior we experienced. To that end, its unfortunate the young staff that were working the night we were treated so poorly, took it upon themselves to exercise their poor judgement in getting back at the customer. Its a shame we had this experience as we had enjoyed going there in the past. Needless to say, we will not be returning to celebrate the next St. Paddys day or anything else for that matter.
Had love music, so you want to meet up with friends to chat, it will be a little loud. Music was great though.
Great local pub
Very nice family pub
Lovely place, good food, staff and music.
I loved the atmosphere of the place and the service. The young lady who assisted us was very kind to my daughter, brought drawings for her to color, brought cards loved the experience. Congratulations
Amazing food and wonderful drinks, but the service was awful.
Great atmosphere with traditional pub favorites
The place is a gem. It s been a second home to many of us for many years. Wonderful cozy atmosphere. The new manager that has come in is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. The worst manager I have ever met in the business. He is arrogant. Ignorant. Dresses unprofessionally. Narcissistic. And is slowly getting rid of all the amazing staff that have been a part of the place for years. The regulars are disgusted with him. So many of our favorite bartenders and waiters are slowly getting knocked off one by one. And now we begin our leave of the place because he is ruining it. We (and we are not the only one in the restaurant who noticed ) witnessed the manager pull aside one of our favorite bartenders and scream at her and write her up in the middle of the restaurant. Shameful.
Been coming here for 2 years now as it has been known to me to be a friendly hang out pub to stop by, mingle with the staff, regulars, and grab a quick bite/beer after work Unfortunately, the last 2 months have got me questioning the direction and management of this establishment We come here to gather and see recognizable and friendly faces including both staff and guests alike. It has become very apparent that since new management the atmosphere has changed drastically. Your staff is dropping like flies making for a disappointing turn over rate! I ve been in the industry for years. Restauranteurs need to be held accountable for their staff, be approachable, dependable and always have each other s back. It is clear that it s not the case here. My sympathies to your hard working employees who bring a smile to my face every time I walk through the door.
I had a bad experience with the Server. Because they close early if they dont have enough customers, moreover they didnt mention it at all whereas I asked the timings of closing before ordering. So its just feels disrespectful to be there when you are being unserved because of the strength of restaurant.
It has been interesting to follow the developments of my old stomping grounds. An establishment is only as good as the people managing it and clearly the owner missed on this one. The last review from Matthew Lithgow screams the rantings of childish management. I think the review meant to say hes been the manager for several months. Clearly, he has no managemnt skills and can deduce that he got the job from being friends with the owner. It is a shame to see how far this place has fallen. Hopefully the owner will wake up before its too late.
I used to so enjoy coming to this pub to meet friends and to interact with a phenomenal staff. Sadly, over the last several months, I truly no longer recognize most of the staff, and I have made the personal choice to boycott this establishment as management have eviscerated the seasoned staff as well as destroyed fully what once was a joy-filled, welcoming environment. George, where are you?
Great bar
George and Bobby have completely ruined this Etobicoke establishment. Menu changes have made the food go down hill. Bobby s unhinged management has caused good staff to leave and he is chasing more out each day. I for one am boycotting this restaurant until it s inevitable closure. George - you used to be better than this.
I used to come here but wont be coming EVER again. Saw management mistreating staff and then read the reviews and clearly i wasnt the only one. Its so sad to witnesss a place that WAS once great go down hill. One can only hope the owner of this is established actually reads these reviews and realizes hes tossing money out the door as regulars now find the environment toxic all because of a poor management hire. Word of mouth is strong especially in Etobicoke this place will continue to go down hill.
Ashley was a superb server! Best service I have had in years! Definitely come by this place you will have an awesome time. Thank you Ashley for the amazing service!!
A must-try in Etobicoke. Great food and friendly service. Ashley was phenomenal. Stop by for a drink and great atmosphere.
We got our calamari in 1 minute and it was cold. We got the rest of our apps in 20 mins. Ages to get our drinks. Confusion and chaos. I have a feeling the management is to blame
