Traditional Irish pub offering homestyle pub grub & brews in a classic setting with a relaxed vibe.
Dec 18th. Fantastic night , great food and drinks. Irish stew was delicious. Excellent bar staff, very friendly. Definitely best Guinness around. Looking forward to another round
Had dinner with the Mrs. and her father last night. Fish n Chippies was on point. Daniel took care of us right proper. Love this place!
Dropped in for a couple beers and wings with a buddy. Decent food, friendly staff with great Irish accents that added authenticity to the pub. Enjoyed my first Smithwicks and look forward to many more. Enjoyed ourselves. Will visit again. Cheers, Joseph
I understand and appreciate the charm of an Irish pub. Lots of locals. Good service and beers on tap. My only recommendation is to invest a bit into this place for a bit of a revamp.
We came by this place and decided to try it out. A very nice neighborhood Irish pub. Our waitress was great though they were having a really busy night. I felt the portions could be better on the food, but a pleasant evening nonetheless. I enjoyed my Smithwicks!
Family owned Irish pub with great beer! The Irish stew and mashed potatoes were delicious! My friend had the Shepherds pie, which turned out a bit too runny.. but the waitress was nice about it and offered to exchange it for sausage and mashed potatoes, which my friend loved. All and all, quaint place with delicious food.
The vibe is so good at this place. I went with a friend for a few beers and some food. A few tables were occupied but everybody there was merry. Our server took good care of us and made sure she was checking if we were doing okay multiple times. The food did take a bit of a time to arrive but the service offset it. Their crab cakes are delicious so please give it a shot!
Had the pleasure of dining at Galway Arms on Sunday, March 13, 2022 for lunch. The service was great. The dishes we had were the Fish Tacos, Bourbon Burger and Shepard's Pie. The fish tacos were really good - well battered fish with yummy guacamole. The poutine wasn't the best I've had - shredded cheese instead of cheese curds and the gravy was a tad salty. The Burbon Burger was massive - hubby had to work to take a bite 😋, but he says it was delicious and the flavors of the burger were on-pointe. The Shepherds Pie was not as impressive. The meat in it appeared to be just a burger pattie that wasn't chopped up. There was a couple burnt side pieces in the dish as well. The side of onion rings were good though. All in all, we would eat here again.
Wings are fire!
Very good Guinness beer!!! Definitely we will come back!
Best Guinness in the city.. it is the real deal
Stress free place. I highly recommend dropping in if youre looking for a properly poured pint.
Great pub in the west end. One of the best places for Guinness this side of the pond
Table was wobbly. Dirty rails . Had shepherd pie .wasnt fresh.
The Galway Arms is by far the best Irish pub in Toronto. This family-run gem offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a true home away from home. The staff are friendly and attentive, making every visit feel special. Whether you re there for a quick pint, a tasty meal, or just to soak in the authentic Irish ambiance, The Galway Arms never disappoints. The sense of community is palpable, and it s clear that this pub is loved by both regulars and newcomers alike. If you re looking for a genuine Irish pub experience in Toronto, The Galway Arms is the place to be!
Excellent Irsih Pub!! Tremendous pub atmosphere and vibe. Staff arr great and two are Irish!!!!
Best Irish pub in Toronto
Best Irish bar in Ontario.
This is my go-to pub, I feel they properly celebrate our Irish heritage and deliver an ace pub experience all around, with a good selection of drinks, friendly service, and a great community vibe.
Very disappointing dinner. We ordered Fish and Chips with two pieces, and the salmon. The Fish and Chips came with one piece only and the salmon was off, Im glad I noticed it tasted funny with the first bite! The restaurant refused to give us a refund, we will never eat here again.
Garbage - dive of a place. Fish and chips dry, overcooked, no flavour. Old man s dive bar. Service took forever to receive. Surprised this place is around and on such a busy populated street . Go elsewhere Go up to Bloor West/ Royal York
very nice atmosphere and staff is amazing. I didn t order a meal but the food I saw was colourful with fresh lettuce etc and the portions look generous! Vegetarian options: Beyond Burgers, wraps etc.
Such a homey and cozy atmosphere, some of the best service and such kind people I would totally recommend this place to anyone that wants a nice chill sit down experience.
Eat before you go, but come drink for cheap. Reminds me of a hole in the way pub you would find in Ireland or the UK. Helps the waitress was a proper Irish lady.
Toronto has a few Irish pubs. This in my opinion is the most authentic. It was recommended by an Irish Co worker. BEST pint of Guinness you can get in the city. You can tell the lines ate clean and the staff l knows how to pour a proper pint. Food
Terrific service!
Great pub, had live music and great service.
Wonderful fish and chips!!!
Great local Irish pub! The food is great especially the nachos. It s a fun place to watch the game.
Ordered Shepherds Pie, it way tiny, microvawed in a tray you would get on an airplane, I wish I took a photo to show how terrible it was...
Had a brilliant new year
Great authentic bar with amazing staff! Never had a bad night here!
I liked the place. The food and selection of drinks were good.
First time there a Thurs lunch. Hardly any customers. Had beef sandwich stomach felt awful for next 12 hours. Another at my table had same also stomach issues. Waitress was delightful. I certainly see no reason to return here
Always a great choice for a pub night. Staff super nice, and good food. What I most like about Galways is their pub athmosphere
Proper Irish bar. Best pint of guiness in Toronto. Went for live music it was electric.
Its an Irish pub in California, but well done
Always welcoming and accommodating. A warm and cozy place for lunch, dinner and drinks.
Amazing service and tasty food! They pour the perfect pint of Guinness too.
Nice place. Good food and the Guinness was great
The best wings in GTA
Great Irish Pub in Etobicoke!! Excellent service , will be back!
Celebrated st Patty here and honestly met so many people and staff are so cool and out going!
Best Guinness you ll find across the pond. Service is amazing. Great grub too.
What a fantastic venue. It looks, sounds, and feels like an Irish pub. Because it is. The traditional Irish stew was incredible and spot-on. The fries are excellent and crispy - some of the best Ive had in the city. As of the writing of this review, the wings are actually the best Ive had - and I eat a LOT of wings. The sauce is the perfect combination of tangy/spicy/sweet and has an excellent vinegar balance. The wings themselves are perfectly crispy on the outside despite being sauced and very tender on the inside while being completely cooked. This is how I like my wings - and this is how I will be getting my wings for the foreseeable future. Its all pub fare, but its Irish pub fare, and they clearly know how to make it the right way! Only thing missing for me would be a live band - maybe they have one on another night of the week (Id not be surprised) and if they do - Ill find out because Im definitely going back. Bang up job, Galway!
I love the atmosphere of the pub. I gave the service a four-star just because they were understaffed. Our waitress was fantastic. The food was good pub fare. I would go back again if I was in the area.
Horribly slow. Could not pour a Guinness. Treated poorly. Never again. The unprofessional response from the owner to this review reinforces how poorly we were treated. Speaks volumes when there is a lack of accountability or offer to discuss our discriminatory experience. The owner shoud be happy I dont mention the exact details of how our group was treated.
Great service and food
Just tried this place for the first time tonight. I ordered a Angus burger with cheese and bacon and fries. The meat was quite dry and though and didnt taste good and also the fries were very soggy and not salty at all. For 20$ I was expecting better quality, its really overpriced. Very disappointed with this experience and definitely not recommended.
Brought relations visiting from Ireland to the Galway Arms the other night. Mick was a fantastic host - so kind and sweet and funny. The food was great and my relations were delighted with the place. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful memory.
Service was good and very friendly.
Live music, Great beer, and excellent food will be back!
Great Irish pub. Come for a pint if you can!
Chill pub with two rooms, lots of screens for watching. Live music on weekends, delicious food and generous portions. Friendly staff, busier for events/sports/weekends... bathroom in basement.
Really great food: understaffed though and it was a struggle to first get seated and then to order our food and then to get our food. I m sure it you go at a peak time they re better prepared - we went 12pm on a Saturday close to opening. We had budgeted 2 hours for lunch and it got close to that just for an app (55 mins wait) and 2 mains that took another 20 mins after that. We asked for the bill asap and the server was great with that. Would still recommend but would suggest the owners need to rethink staff levels in down times as we kept being told chef was too busy (I guess from takeout).
Great pub with surprisingly good food.
Great selection of irish beers and food was perfect. Recommend the Irish stew and the bangers and mash.
Magic feels like home.
Thanks for not giving us any smelly expired or re-fried wings like the other pubs round here (I can tell recooked wings by the fishy smell since)! Our waitress was Irish, she pulls a great pint and had a good sense of humor. Roast beef sandwich average. I expect the rest of the food is good since our beer and wings were prepared with such care.
A true Irish experience. Slainte.
Great pub, great atmosphere, youll love it!
This place is the most underrated pub in west toronto.
Sherry is quite the host you can attained to for a shiver. Love the convenience for a chat with real folks.
If youre looking for an actual Irish experience, look no further. Amazing food, excellent people, live music and great daily deals. A gem in Toronto.
Great bar! Great food! Great people!
AMAZING SERVICE AND FOOD! One of the best pubs I have ever been to in Canada.
Great food, great Guinness and great staff
Beer, yes. Friendly and patient staff.
Fine neighborhood pub. Welcoming environment.
Nice little neighbourhood pub. Live music which was not too loud or intrusive. Guiness was poured well, which is a great sign of a proper Irish pub. Although I didnt have any food, it did look good. I will have to stop by and try it soon.
Always great. Their Christmas hams are also amazing
Order : Potato fries and Vegetarian Quesadillas Quality : fries were crispy and taste was ok (4/5). Quesadillas was really good though it was very cheesy. If someone is not a fan of cheese then please ask the server to make it less cheesy. Cost : not so costly. We were two people and its cost us 25 dollar including tip and taxes. Ambiance : we sat in a patio. Very good arrangements in winter. They have heater outside for each table. Very comfortable. Service : it was good. Server was very nice and polite.
Great service and amazing pint!
Best place for a drink or 2
Great service great food
Decent Irish setting
Good atmosphere good food good staff. Will go again.
Nice place and tasty food. Menu is a little overpriced
Great Irish Pub!! Keep up the good work!!
We were quite frequent customers before Covid but post have found the service and food to have lost focus. I.e. having sent back lukewarm wings 2 visits in a row, 10mins for someone to come to the table, etc. Dont know the cause but it doesnt seem they have someone at the helm full time. Were fans - make us fans again!
Sweet potato fries are the bomb, the service can be slow. Be patient though, theyre just always busy.
Only 1 guy serving the entire place. Avoid this place.
The service was really bad. No waitresses only 2 men that worked behind the bar. Waited over 30 minutes just to order a drink. The food even took longer to come. Food was good however. They need to hire a few waitresses.
Chips were dry and not tasty at all. Onion rings were too oily and soggy. Had an upset stomach the next morning. Pretty disappointed..
Great Irish pub with good selection of beers and food .
Great food great value great service... close to the movies
Went here on a friday night and had a great time ! Food was good and the beers on tap are to my liking. Only negative was it took a long time to get even approached once we sat down and the time between drink orders was rather long.
Great food, live music was a 5/5 also
Its a rather laid back pub. Nothing fancy. Just relax and enjoy your beer
Went there for lunch with a colleague, the service was great, we had the special of the day, philly cheese steak & salmon stir-fry which the server changed for us to chicken, food tasted great & fresh, will definitely be back to enjoy the patio again and the great selection of beers on tap!
My favourite Irish Pub in this neighbourhood.
Cajun Wings not on the menu but was delicious. A wee bit dry, they state one of the best wings in town but I don t really agree. Excellent service I would still drop in for a pint.
The establishment was divided into sports, golf on one side of a partial wall and soccer in a real pub style atmosphere!
Excellent food, great service. !!!
Dined in. Enjoyed the nachos and burger. My husband had thw fish and chips and said they were good as well. Great service, good portions and reasonable prices.
Good Fish and chips
A must go to place. Good food, good service, good prices. Very clean!!
Love eating there. The mashed Green Peas are amazing. Great Irish Atmosphere.
Great beer and food! Had the bangers, mash & beans with a couple Keiths.
Great atmosphere and authentic Irish pub . Check it out!
Cozy Irish pub located in Etobicoke.
Theyre as Irish Pub as youre going to get. And its perfect at what it does!
Service poor as always understaffed
Best Guinness (the real stuff imported from Ireland!) Staff are the real deal The one low point is the kitchen. Gawd I miss the chip and curry from the Queens Arms
Nice wee pint of Guinness can be found here
Great service
4 stars because the wings are just ridiculously good . It s a watering hole in the neighbourhood
Staff were friendly. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and salad also a side red pepper soup. Soup was amaziiinggg the sandwich how ever was blan no taste the au jus taste like water. The horseradish was sweet? Never heard of that. Place clean good vibes tho
Bad customer service
Food was good price was good
Food is mediocre
We had a 35 year reunion there and our waitress was awesome she was very attentive to maintaining orders .
Food is always decent pub food, and of course they serve some good Irish beer.
Staff are friendly. Service is good. Food is standard pub fair and reasonably priced. Parking is limited in the area.
Great staff and taps..havent had their food but saw others get it and it looked good. Typical pub fare. Very good pint of Guinness! These kind of places are hard to come by now
Great service and a very friendly atmosphere.
Was looking for a good pint of Guinness in the GTA and stumbled across this gem. Taidgh and Jordan the 2 barman were very welcoming and poured the best pints of Guinness Ive found to date. Great spot, good atmosphere and made better by the friendly bar staff. Will definitely be my new local!
Solid Irish Pub. Good Food, Service & Drinks
Wow I guess this place is doing great through the pandemic. I am trying to give them my business but every time their online ordering is down and the phone line never gets picked up Good riddance.
Really nice staff and lots of patrons. Poutine is a bit soggy though.
Love this pub! First time visiting it with my partner and we loved it. Having grown up in England, I really enjoyed their Sunday roast dinner and sticky toffee pudding (huge serving size). Would love it if you promoted the Sunday roast dinner (a flyer or website) as I didn t know you offered it till I asked. Also some more traditional roast dinner additions would be great for Irish and British patrons such as Yorkshire puddings (can get them frozen if needed), and some roasted root vegetables. The burger was flavourful and very tasty with a home made patty. Delightful!
Great place with fantastic food. Unfortunately the service absolutely sucks. We ve tried several times hoping it was a one off but no such luck. Could be a gold mine but will probably go under soon. Can t say we didn t try.
Excellent food and decent selection on tap. I recommend the wings! Very friendly service staff.
Always a fun place to have a beer and a bite!
Bad food, bad ambiance, bad wine, if you wanna go to just get drunk and eat drunk food be my guest but don t bring a date here or anything like that
Reallt nice irish pub, been here probably 10-15 times. Food is always great Servers are very nice and the place has a friendly environment too it.
Fantastic food and fantastic service! Not to mention the stunningly low prices for the amount of food! Will definitely be a regular here
Food and service were both OK, but the place does have a very classic pub vibe. Showed up a bit underdressed for a late dinner after a long day moving, and despite a limited number of patrons, the servers did take a while to come by (they were also working the bar). Others that showed up 10 or so minutes later than us did get menus first, and there were some stretches with empty glasses. Was particularly hungry after the move, so it was a bit frustrating to see, however normally not a huge deal. Prices are a bit steep for what you get in terms of food - Shepards pie had some hardened/burnt ground meat, and the nachos had a fair bit of toasted cheese that missed the chips. Might come back if convenient.
Food was great, wonderful spot .
Another great evening at the Galway. Thank you Michael! Such great and friendly staff. The table behind us were very rude to Michael and he handled it with such grace. Always a great time!
Had a great time at the Galway!! Michael was a great server!!! Had some extremely rude customers behind us, but he handled it extremely well. I would definitely recommend this place!!!
Great pub! Great atmosphere! Great staff!
Very nice stuff but food is not really good quality. Im not recommended.
Excellent customer service. Lovely staff. Thanks. Eugene Ireland.
Nice atmosphere and great location for me, went back after long time and after seeing them on the news talking about the covid guidelines are followed by the restaurant and staff. To my surprise they were not serious about vaccinations proofs they didnt even check ours despite showing them nor the other patrons on the restaurant. I guess they are worry about losing some clients. Servers were not wearing the face mask properly perhaps not wearing them at all is better idea. Food is ok and the selection of beers is decent and the staff is very friendly no questions abour that. I guess well think twice to go back anytime soon.
I really liked it. Very homey. Pleasant. Friendly. Honest.
Decent place for a pint and wings. But the roast beef dinner and ham dinner are both lacking in flavour and overcooked.
Great selection on tap and waitresses are absolutely lovely! Had the nachos shared between two and we couldnt finish. Delish
Good proper pub..
Amazing place ! Always friendly and professional staff! Special thank you to a Waiter -Nikita! He is a real sport! Super friendly, quick service! Patrons inside the pub are very nice too, warm, friendly environment ! Good kitchen, and my favourite onion rings of course!!
Great hangout and great service!
It was the first time I visited the restaurant. Nice interior, friendly environment. Fish and chips dish (I asked for mashed potatoes instead of fries) was great. Nikita is an amazing person, very polite, demonstrating professional skills and creating a pleasant atmosphere at the place. I liked non-alcohol cocktail. And I liked the Christmas decorations. I will definitely come back with my friends. Thank you!
