A charming little café in the plaza. We ordered the Joey D special sandwich with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and the Amalfi sandwich and a side rapini (The sandwiches were huge!) Great spot for hot counter food take out. Looking forward to trying the veal sandwich next!

The reviews are accurate. This is a fantastic sandwich joint, not to be missed. I cant wait to go back. The Joey D with what seems to be house made muffaletta was magic. My wife doesnt even like sandwiches and I was fighting her off. The purveyor/owner who also goes by the name Joey D is also worth the visit. I arrived two minutes before close and he would have been well within his rights to tell me to get the hell out of there, but, instead he personally made my sandwich, even when an employee offered to step in and he kept we well entertained while he did it. Sometimes theres a man... I wont say a hero, cause, whats a hero? But sometimes, theres a man. And Im talkin about Joey D here. Sometimes, theres a man, well, hes the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And thats the Joey D in his sandwich shop.

I catered Joes food. Cannelloni. Raining. Sausage and peppers. Chicken parm..all I can say is this was the best food by far I have ever tasted and honestly will never use anyone else 10+++++ in service and food quality. Ill be back

I ve always been curious to eat here with my yoga studio being next door and finally I went in and had a sandwich and soup. Might be the best veal sandwich and soup I ve ever had in my entire life. Wow.

Let me tell you...there is NO other sandwich like a Buon Giorno veal cutlet sandwich. The fact that they can close at 3pm tells you this place is super popular. So, get there early or go home crying. Parking: Plenty of parking in the plaza.

Buon Giorno Cafe is the best kept secret for well priced catering needs for small and large crowds. When hosting a large party, I only use Buon Giorno Cafe for catering food. The pasta sauce is authentic and delicious. The veal parmaggini is so tender and tasty. I have also ordered his breaded chicken cutlets which are moist and flavourful. The owner, Joe, is very personable, friendly and despite being very busy, he always makes time to chat with his customers. He always answers the telephone, a rare occurence in this internet driven age. I have never been disappointed with my orders. I highly recommend Buon Giorno Cafe for your catering needs. Lucia

Come on. This place is incredible. The Joey D special, the Hot Pig. The Amalfi. The veal with eggplant parmigiana. You can not go wrong here. The food is absolutely out of this world. Also, Joey himself is an amazing guy. I cant wait to try the foccacia friday and also I look forward to coming to the office for the lunches here alone. See you every Thursday, my friend.

Tasty sandwiches

Heard about this spot from an IG foodie. He was right, its a hidden gem.

One of my favourite places to eat in the Queensway/Etobicoke area. Fresh, big cold cut sandwiches, fabulous veal sandwiches, great assortment for the hot table and even delicious seafood options. Perfect place for lunch or even get a take home tray of food. Joey the owner will not disappoint. Highly recommended!

We ordered food for our daughter s birthday party and it was delicious and such a hit! The food was delivered hot, and the food (lasagna, cannelloni, veggies, white whine chicken, penne and parmigianas) were very generously portioned. Joe made the ordering and coordination very seamless too. I would 100% cater from Buon Giorno again!

You don t go to this gem of a restaurant for atmosphere!!!! You go for the food! This Italian deli is one of the best sandwich bars in Etobicoke, blew my mind ! Ordered the hot pig sandwich and wrecked my shoulder grabbing the bag off the counter ! This sandwich is loaded, ate it in the car and went back for another! Saw they had meatballs, now be careful these are there size of baseballs, the most delicious balls I ve ever eaten! And ive eaten a lot of balls ! Giant sandwiches with the meat cut as you order. Its got a hot counter, espresso and even a Nonna in the back table quietly judging the patrons. What more do you need? Its my go-to.

I have been here a lot. The food is amazing. Its a family-run business and I enjoy every visit. Joe and the team there are very friendly and accommodating. It feels like home there. They have also done a couple of catering for me for a construction site and everybody enjoyed the food. I highly recommend this place. Everything on the menu is fresh and DELICIOUS.

These folks know their sandwiches. I had a Mortadella/Pesto Sandwich. It was fresh and delicious. The owner was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is no frills. Its clean, but dont expect candles and table cloths. Buon appetito!

I got the new spicy sandwich and it was amazing.

I came here but the area had a power outage, The staff was super kind and the owner just a phenomenal person. He gave me the sandwich and told me to pay him later because of the power outage. I will be coming back again tomorrow to pay it off now that the power is back on and get another sandwich because that veal sandwich was delicious Great food and great staff

Ask for no spice and no tomato s the girl at the counter confirms no tomatos. I open the sandwich to share with my daughter what do I find spice and tomatos amazing service as long as you don t expect them to follow simple instructions.

Italian breakfast of Champions. My first time in this place and was one hell of an experience. It was an expensive Italian breakfast but worth every penny. The sandwich was Hearty and delicious the espresso was spot on and the cannoli afterwards was decadent. The owner was very accommodating. Although I was glad I was there in the morning because this place started to get busy after I had arrived.

Time and time again, this gem does not disappoint!! Joe the owner is a wonderful man. He has a great sense of humour. The food, no matter what you order, is fantastic. Huge portions. Joe and his staff go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. My family and I highly recommend this place. Our family is moving away to another province and we are going to miss this place. We are going to have a very difficult time finding a place as great as this. We hope to come visit you again someday.

Very high quality , generous portion sizes, reasonable price. The attention to quality is unmatched, all of my guests raved about the catering. For example, the chicken breasts are full sized and the veal was huge. It s nice to see quality standards maintained at a time where others are cutting back. 10/10 , will come back!

Ordered porketta for Mothers Day...it was better than I expected...very moist and the right amount of spices.

We got catering from BG today, the meal was swimming in an inch of oil, chicken was slimy, vegetables had a weird chlorine-plastic aftertaste. I ended up throwing out the whole meal after a few bites, so disappointing. This sadly was our main meal of the day.

Good food, and you do not need to pay extra for most topping on veal sandwiches like other places.

1st time here and a little upset with myself, why havent I been here yet? Had a veal & eggplant parmesan sandwich, which was suggested when I couldnt make up my mind lol. The sandwich was delicious, although I think I added too many toppings, all were good, but Ill just stick with peppers to taste the veal and eggplant. Will be back to try the soup and deli. Oh and by the way, the sandwich is huge, could barely fit my hand around it

Diminutive Etobicoke strip mall sangaweech shop with extraordinarily large & delicious Italian classics. Friendly service from owner and lovely staff. Really good cold cut combo; delicious veal with peppers & onions. The kind of place you just wish you had around the corner from you.

Excellent Italian food! Nothing fancy but food was delicious. I had the chicken sandwich and it was very tasty. Olga served me & she was very pleasant/friendly. She was having her lunch but when she saw me waiting in line she got up & served me so I didn t have to wait. Great service. Thank you Olga! The interior is small & not much seats to sit & eat. My chair/seat faced the wall. But if you re just looking for a quick bite/lunch like I was-it s not a problem. OR you can take it back to work/home & enjoy. Owner Joe was friendly/personable. & the clientele seem like many regulars. I m definitely going to be back to try the Veal or lasagna next time! They looked great too!

I finally went to get my veal sandwich from Buon Giorno Cafe which was very highly recommended to me by my son s friends. OMG! It was so delicious!! The bun was huge with lots of meat and the toppings are free-I added the fried onions, mixed sweet and hot peppers and mushrooms-yum!! The owner and chef Tina was super sweet too. There are many more items to try so I will definitely be back.

Buon Giorno is a hidden gem. The food is incredible. It s like going to Nonna s house for dinner. The food is authentic and beyond delicious. My go to item is the veal sandwich with provolone, sautéed onion and mushrooms. Portion size is very generous. Don t be discouraged by the decor (it s very dated). It s all about the food and service which is outstanding. It will not disappoint.

Great food in a cafeteria style! Quickest lunch you can grab! You are eating 5 minutes after arriving! I cant even get through drivethrough that fast! Also, they do amazing catering for events and special occasions! Cant recommend it enough!

WOW WOW WOW! We keep coming back to this place for our family meals, as it is a true gem when it comes to fresh and exquisite homemade Italian food. And this past weekend was no exception. We ordered catering for a larger event and they EXCEEDED our already high expectations. Our guests couldnt say enough great things. We ordered a variety of items from the menu, including the lasagna, veal parmesan, sausage and peppers, rappini, mixed vegetables, shrimp and calamari and focaccia, and everything was made to perfection. Thank you Joey, Tina and team for making our event so special and memorable (as we all know, everyone always remembers the food :) ).

The best Italian sandwiches in Etobicoke, better that San Remo, better than California. No hype here, only good sandwiches made fresh upon order.

The cold sandwich (JoeyD) is plentiful but nothing special. The eggplant parmigiana was better and also generous but unfortunately we found a white hair in the last bites that put us off.

Best italian sandwich I can think of off the top of my head. Definitely get a cappuccino

2.5 stars. Kind of pricy for what you get. Ordered the hot pig sandwich and was expecting a hoagie (better than a sub) type experience. Just meats and cheese on non-soft bread. More toppings and better or fresher bread would have made a difference.

What an amazing hidden gem! I was craving eggplant parmesan and this welcoming place did not dissapoint! I not only bought a healthy sized order of eggplant parm, but I got two huge servings of delicious lasagna to go. I enjoyed a slice of pizza for the drive home.The crust was so good! And the sauce and toppings were so flavorful. Plus, the prices were molto bene!! I live in downtown Toronto, but will now happily drive to Etobicoke to try all the delicious old school homeade Italian dishes on the menu!!! The meatball sub is next on my list. Yummmy! GRAZIE

One of our favorite caterers! We have ordered from them many times for our business events and staff lunches. I must say, their food is quite delicious and generously portioned. What truly makes them stand out is their incredibly friendly staff and management, which makes working with them a delight. They re always accommodating for any dietary restrictions, which is a huge plus. The quality of the food is definitely worth the money. Highly recommended!

Arguably the best sandwich shop in Etobicoke. Joey D special sandwich was filling & tasty. Fresh cut deli, right in front of your eyes. Veal on a bun was fantastic. Espresso & cappuccino + food were a 10/10. Owner and staff were friendly. Definitely will be returning for the sandwiches.

Tried this place for the first time today after seeing all the positive reviews on here. Ordered 2 chicken sandwiches ($15 each w tax)In my mind the only way you could justify charging that much for a sandwich is if its by far the best in the city. It was awful. Chicken was dry and tasteless, bread was soaking wet and the toppings all basic and gross, sauce is bad, left awful taste in my mouth. Only ended up eating half & left what was leftover at the front door. I don t know what everyone else is experiencing maybe they haven t been to other similar italian bakerys and what not across the city but this is no where near 5 stars. Didn t try anything else but did see their pizza slices that looked burnt and covered with a napkin and their pasta and soup which looked literally disgusting. In my opinion should be ashamed charging what they do but is what it is, if getting away with it all the power to you. Go to san remo which is also expensive but at least you are getting decent quality. Also might want to clean your debit machine was filled with gunk on every key.

We love coming to Buon Giorno for lunch!!! Best eggplant sandwiches in the city. We drive from Sarnia to get our fix of spectacular southern Italian cuisine. We even get extra to enjoy the next day. Its Etobicokes hidden gem.

Very nice little place, with very good ltalian food.

Joe makes some of the best Italian food in the city. Veal is always moist, delicious and loaded with toppings. The lasagna and meatballs are top tier too. They also offer catering which is highly recommended. Hopefully be back sooner rather than later.

Hands down the BEST authentic Italian food in the city. I constantly take my visiting nieces and nephews from Italy here and they love the food.

After reading reviews, we decided to try it. I only paid CAD$16 for veal plate. Even with respect to its price, its quality isnt worth it. What I could see werent even remotely close to the pictures. The taste definitely was anything but fresh.

This spot is a hidden gem. The sandwiches are excellent. Everything seemed fresh and the old school vibe really took me back to when I use to visit Italian bakeries all the time. Highly recommended.

I enjoy stopping at restaurants outside of my neighborhood so i pulled in here for a loaded veal sandwich during work. The sandwich was definitely huge, lots of veal and toppings, overall very tasty with a very nice tomato sauce. Bread was very fresh and tasty too. Ill have to try some of their famous deli sandwiches because the bread they use is top notch.

Fresh, Quality, Quantity and The Best Prices!!

Went for the first time last week with a friend and Mike made us some great sandwiches. Mike gave us a few recommendations and also told us about the daily specials. Great food and service!

First visit did not disappoint! I came in hungry so I was ready to try one of the paninis. Mike recommended the porchetta & rapini panini with hot peppers. Jackpot! The bread was soft and the sandwich was loaded with thinly sliced porchetta to really fill you up. Great recommendation by Mike and I will be back again!

Went here on my lunch break last week and it was a great idea. In my 40 minute break from highschool i got an espresso and meatball sub. I was in and out thanks to mike, and met the jolly owner joe the next time I went. Definitely coming back soon.

I had the Joey D sandwich and a latte macchiato and they were both excellent. There was also many varieties of other sandwiches and other warm dishes available. I can t even express how great the customer service was. The people working there treat you as if you are friends of theirs. As we sat outside we could hear them talking to the many customers that come in in the most pleasant way. It was really delightful to hear. They were super accommodating to me and my three year old son. They suggested half of the sandwich spicy and half of it mild for us without me even asking. Highly recommend to anyone passing by!!

This is it. You found my Italian food place. Selection is amazing. I come here very often. Veal Parm eggplant chicken lasagna rapini cold cut sandwiches pasta soups sausage roast pork etc etc Joe and staff friendly and fun. Espresso to end your meal. Enough said.

The real deal for amazing sandwiches and the service is even better! Highly recommend.
