Airy, modern spot serving wood-fired pizzas, homemade pasta & traditional Italian specialties.
Had our Office Holiday Dinner here. The service, food and ambiance was great! The manager, Jas, was great at helping to organize all the specifics of the event and very accommodating. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were good! Left very satisfied and very full! Will definitely be returning.
The food was fantastic, with the Basque Cheesecake being a standout. Although the restaurant was busy on weekends, I thoroughly enjoyed both the flavors and atmosphere. I’d definitely come back for another great experience with my friends.
Not even 1 star. Everything we ordered was incorrect. We were offered other tables food and drinks. We had children wait over an hour for a pepperoni pizza. 1 out of four were cooked properly, one was soaked in oil, another burnt and bitter and another was raw dough underneath the toppings and a literal slip and slide. Draught beer on tap was out of order and we received one cold beer and one warm one. One plate on the table was dirty with food on it and another glass was broken with a crack and large chip. I can not make this up. Absolutely disappointed. Stay away.
Situated in the corner, this restaurant offers a welcoming look into the establishment through plenty of windows on two sides. We walked into Cellar Door on a late fall evening and the warmth of the place enveloped us. The smell of wood fire was in the air and that was very pleasant. The cocktails were good and the recommendations from the waiter were on point. The Cellar Door salad was excellent as I have a weakness for a crisp salad topped with warm fixings. The Fromage Arancini was very well prepared. The crusty yet light exterior complemented the smoky cheeses that were mixed into the rice. The spicy tomato sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The spicy shrimp and zucchini pizza offered a very unique and delightful taste combination. The wood fire pizza looked great when it was presented. The first bite was memorable. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the pizza and it quickly soaked through the bottom and congealed on the plate. The dough quickly became soggy and the rest of the consumption experience became slightly unpleasant. The house made penna cotta was fresh and delicious. A little firm for my liking but it was thoroughly enjoyable!
Great dinner! We ordered two pizzas- pistachio chicken and the potato- both were so good especially the crust. It was wonderfully blistered and chewy. The mushroom ravioli was delicious. We finished it off with tiramisu. Definitely going back.
The food was excellent! But the service was extremely disappointing that it would not make me want to go back. We asked for sliced lemons for our water not once, not twice but three times and they never came. We asked for a glass of ice and it never came. We ordered a second serving of bread and it came when we had finished our meals. A little too late! My daughter ordered tea and it never came. The appetizers we ordered took time to be served and then our main courses came as we were still eating our appetizers. Also disappointing was the fact that they were out of several items on the menu. We asked for two different desserts and they were out of both. Perhaps the server could have told us ahead of time what they were out of. The espresso machine was not working so once again we couldn’t order what we wanted. I don’t understand how the manager/owner would think that having only two servers for the entire restaurant is ok. They were busy and it was impossible to provide the care and service that is expected by customers. I am truly sorry that the poor service outweighed the great quality of food. You need both - good food and excellent service!
Got the charcuterie board and the mussels with my girlfriend about a week ago. Charcuterie board was great (sad that they don’t just include olives so we did have to pay extra) but they did accommodate us by giving us a smaller size that was a bit cheaper, which was nice. The reason for the bad review is because of the mussels. First of all, the sauce was extremely sharp, like acidic, and way overly salted. Our assumption is that it was over salted to hide the fact that these mussels were not fresh. They tasted granular and overall consistency was off. On top of all this they came out cold. They were so bad we were not able to finish them, which says a lot because we love mussels. They did discount the bill for us but we were honestly kind of surprised that the mussels weren’t removed completely, especially after our complaints. Unfortunately the poor quality of the mussels overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience
A Must-Visit for Mussels and Ravioli Lovers! I can't stress enough how amazing the food is at Cellar door Toronto! The mussels are hands down the best I've ever had, and the ravioli? Absolutely incredible. Each bite is packed with flavor, and it's clear that so much care goes into every dish. The service is also top-notch. They are attentive, friendly, and professional. I only wish I lived closer because I'd be heading there all the time. If you're looking for a place that delivers exceptional food and service, Cellar is a must-visit!
Food is amazing, but the wait for food can be a little long. Atmosphere in the restaurant is great and servers are friendly.
This restaurant is shockingly expensive and dangerously negligent with their food preparation. We ordered 2 pasta dishes, a pork chop main, a salad, and a tiramisu for dessert. Out of the 5 dishes, exactly one dish was satisfactory and that was one of the pastas. In the ravioli dish, firstly it only came with 5 pieces. That s a portion? Disgustingly stingy. But more importantly, one ravioli had a sharp shard of bone (pictured). This is a meatless dish, how this is even possible is beyond me and frankly shocking. Really disappointing because the part of the pasta I ate was delicious. The pork chop main, which was grossly over-salted I might add, came with a side of potatoes. The portion they found satisfactory was exactly 2 fingerling potatoes cut in half. This dish was $28. Abhorrent. The Caesar salad we ordered did not come with enough dressing. Negligible mistake compared to the rest of the order. The tiramisu was a tiny cup of cake for $8. While the food was well flavoured, I wouldn t trust this restaurant to properly serve me a satisfactory glass of water. Massively overpriced and underwhelming. Would not recommend.
Horrible from start to finish. Terrible service, terrible pizza dough, terrible atmosphere. Don t be fooled by the overall ratings here and don t waste your time or money.
Great food. Server was bit busy but did an excellent job. Will return on a regular day
Really amazing food, authentic italian pizza, would visit again!
Such a great hole in the wall italian spot! Definitely a hidden gem in the GTA that you have to check out. The prices are also pretty reasonable and the selection of food on their menu is pretty good! They ve got most of the italian classics and they all tasted amazing! Will definitely be coming back
Great place. Great food. Great service. Highly reco.
There was a new server and he was absolutely great! Super funny guy and the food amazing and very well priced
We had a private company event at this restaurant and the experience was disastrous. They didnt mark the venue private and we had to share the event space with others. They didnt have the menus ready, folks had to wait over 45 mins for their first drink. Colleagues had to chip in and wait on our guests. Things got slightly better after but it was off to a very bad start. I will not recommend this place for large events.
We went out for bday celebration with my family, the food and service was amazing!!! Pizza is absolutely delicious, perfect crust, authentic, pasta was very good with delicious tomato sauce, and tiramisu was perfect finish for dinner. The waiter was extremely nice and warm personality, very attentive. Because I said it was bday celebration we had an extra pizza for free and one tiramisu. I e will definitely come back to this place. Thank you!
This was my first time here, and not only was the food and atmosphere amazing, but our server, Joey, was so kind. He did an amazing job of making sure that all of our table s allergies were accommodated for, and continued to check in on us without feeling overbearing. I think Joey truly made the experience worth coming back.
Great experience. The food was delicious and our server Joey was super nice, helpful and funny...he made our night!! We will be back.
I find no fault with this place, great food, fair prices, attentive and efficient staff. We really enjoyed all our food and will be back. Great job!!!
What an amazing experience, love the vibe. Service, top notch. Food was over the top good. Will be back again. Love it!
Food was delicious and service was excellent !
Joey is very helpful
Had an amazing experience here with the our baby shower, food was awesome and the service was great. Management was very easy to get in touch with and they tailored our event to our needs. Would recommend to anyone!
We enjoyed our date night dinner! Our server was attentive and friendly, offering great suggestions. The calamari was absolutely delicious and we also enjoyed the pizza and pasta we ordered. I would definitely recommend it if youre in the area!
It was the best high pizza Ive ever had!! Wouldnt order from pizza pizza again Food
My go to place for great Italian food
The food has always been great here. Everything Ive ever ordered from pasta to pizza has been a bit spicy though. Nothing too crazy but when you read the menu you wouldnt think most items will be spicy. Also the prices here are more than reasonable if not cheap nowadays, especially for the quality of food. Dont listen to people saying its expensive they have no idea what they are talking about.
Food is amazing.
The place could use some paint and tidying and the website menu needs updating. The shortcomings were made up for with my order of seafood linguine - delicious and properly al dente! Pamela our server was wonderful, personable and made our visit thoroughly enjoyable - thank you, Pamela!
Amazing place will come again
Went to Cellar door for our anniversary and the food was delicious. We ordered the seafood linguine and it was very flavourful and cooked al dente. We also had the margherita, the sauce was rich in flavor and the crust was soft but crispy at the same time. One of the best I ve ever had.
Such a great night at this restaurant, we had the most lovely server and hostess Michelle - she helped us through the menu, gave great suggestions and everything was timely and perfect! Such a hidden gem - the food was amazing! We had the pizza and pasta, a salad and an appetizer and everything was outstanding - the playlist was romantic and lovely. We will definitely be back! Thank you Michelle!
This is the kind of Italian restaurant that sells you dishes they made with Costco cheese lol. They also dont tip their delivery drivers that bring them their Costco food that they resell as fine Italian dining. Gordon Ramsay would go off on the clown owners at this place. Enjoy!
Genuinely recommended for people who love authentic italian cuisine
Tried their Meat Pizza yesterday. The pizza was very authentic and delicious. First time trying wood-fired pizza in my life and I was in awe. Will totally recommend it to everyone, and dont listen to people giving negative reviews. This place is definitely worth it!
Amazing experience. 10/10
One of my neighbourhood favorite restaurants, but hadnt been for a while. Returned last night for a patio dinner on a beautiful summer night. Excellent service from the waiter (apologies dont recall his name). He was very attentive and knowledgeable when asked questions. Wonderful pasta dishes. My seafood tonnarelli was delicious. Excellent arancini as well. Thanks!
You can t miss the pizza! The sauce was amazing, sooooo good.
My husband, toddler and I recently ate here based on the reviews and we feel extremely misguided. The food was not good at all. We ordered appetizers and a bowl of penne for our son to eat while we decided on our mains. The food was disappointing- but it was the fruit flies everywhere that really negatively affected our dining experience. It is concerning that there were that many fruit flies everywhere. They didn t have any cold flat bottled watered- so they brought us carbonated water and not what we ordered. The cheese arancini were hard and overly fried on the outside and not hot on the inside. Cheese wasn t even melted. The speducci was OVERCOOKED and smelled very lamby. The cellar door salad was soggy, the chicken overcooked slivers and soaked in balsamic which made it not even taste like chicken at all. And our son s penne sauce was probably the best of what we ordered, which isn t saying very much because it was subpar. Over $100 including a glass of wine. We left before ordering our own mains.
We hosted a wonderful private event here. Jay was excellent to work with, very kind, accommodating and flexible. The food was 10/10 and our guests were raving about it. The service was top notch - Michelle was sweet, proactive and hard working. We wouldnt hesitate to host another event in the future, or return simply for dinner. Thank you to the whole Cellar Door team!
Drinks were delicious! I think it was a lavender haze I had to start the meal, loved it! Server was really nice and really attentive, especially considering she seemed to be covering the whole restaurant on a busy Saturday night. Pecorino truffle paste pasta was mediocre. I couldn t taste the truffle and the portion was really small, however the pizza that my date had was delicious!
Tasty food! We has pistachio pesto pasta and eggplant pizza. Beautiful patio. Food
Our family of six went to the Cellar Door Restaurant on a Wednesday evening for dinner, as it was recommended by a local Facebook group. The food was good however, my only constructive feedback on this establishment was the lack of waiting staff. One waiter who was the host, waiter, bartender, and busboy was a lot for one person. Our overall experience would have been enhanced if there were one or two additional waiters.
Hard to find authentic Italian food. This place does it right and the price is extremely more than reasonable.
Ordered from uber for an order of pasta and potatoes paying over 25$+ for portions kids wouldn t be happy with. If I knew this was the disrespect I would get for my first order I would never put a cent in this place
I ve never been in, but the takeout is really really good
If you re looking for a good casual Italian little gem of a Restaurant in Etobicoke, the Cellar Door is perfect. Authentic dishes, slightly different choices, good service, good portions, and even better Italian dinner music to top it off.
I booked out Cellar Door for a private event and it was a great evening! Highlights: The drinks were amazing (the best mojitos, lots of good cocktails), the service was very good (friendly, attentive), most of the food was excellent (arancini, lobster ravioli, duck breast, sirloin steaks, all of the desserts), and all around it was a fun atmosphere perfect for our wedding reception of 25 people. Room for improvement: There was some disorganization (wine not put out on tables as discussed), some food overcooked (speducci was rubbery, the brides Halibut was dry and inedible), the air conditioning was not strong enough and it was a bit hot/stuffy. All around, a very good experience. The planning was simple and straightforward thanks to Jay and his team. The portions were huge and nobody went home hungry.
Great food but the inattentive and seemingly couldnt care less service (at least that we experienced) definitely leaves something to be desired. When you go to a restaurant and spend good money on dinner, you expect to be made to feel welcome and cared about. This was definitely not the case. Maybe it was just an off day for the server.
Very nice. The food was good.
The food is a huge disappointment. I wanted to like it but I didnt. We had pizza that had sausage in it which was way too fat and the pizza was way too spicy. To me spicy meat feels not fresh. Im not returning there again
I will definitely visit here again and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for your service and good food:)
Delicious and one of the best pizza, I never had before and good service
Amazing food and friendly staff. I really love Italian food and coming to this restaurant was the best decision. Also, the staff are soo good I spilled my drink and the guy at the bar gave me a replacement. Would definitely come back. Thank you.
The food took nearly 2 hours. Kid-friendliness: Terrible Food : 5/5 |
We came as a group of 9 and we all ordered different appetizers which all tasted good. We also tried a number of different pizzas, all of which were really good. We also tried a few of the pasta dishes which all tasted good as well.
The food was amazing
Vegetarian options: Customizable items on the menu Food
We just had a private function on Sunday afternoon with 26 guests. First I would like to thank Jay very much for helping us and being flexible in planning the menu. All our requests were willingly met. The appetizer table was very well done, the entrees were all presented beautifully and our guests all raved at how delicious everything was! Even though there was only a small wait staff, they worked very hard and had accommodated everyones wishes. Michelle was a super waitress! And Jay a great manager! Kuddos to the chefs and kitchen staff, because none of this could have happened with you! Thanks again for making our party a great success! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, washrooms on the main floor
Authentic Italian flavors served with a touch of perfection! The pizza at this store is a must-try for pizza enthusiasts. Friendly staff and cozy ambiance add to the delightful dining experience.Fresh and vibrant salads bursting with flavor, offering a perfect complement to the savory pizzas. A refreshing and healthy choice for a balanced meal.
Went to the cellar door for a birthday!! One server in the entire place!! They are more concerned with their uber orders than the guests in their restaurant. Will never recommend for dining!
Veal with pasta in tomato sauce was mediocre. Expensive for mediocre food. No bread served. The place is not really Italian but it is basic and overpriced. Food
I cant stop coming here. Amazing
Great food, atmosphere, service ect... well priced definitely worth a try!!!
Absolutely loved this spot ! Staff went the extra mile to take care of our large group and all the accommodation. Food and drink were delicious. Can t wait to come back.
I recently went to a dinner with a group for my brother in laws birthday. We were greeted with friendly staff and were attended too very quickly and promptly. I got the steak dinner which exceeded my expectations with a few drinks on the side which was very fairly priced. Overall I would return for another dinner!
Good service
Savor the essence of Italian pizza at this charming pizzeria. With handcrafted dough, fresh ingredients, and wood-fired perfection, each slice is a delight. A must-visit for aficionados of true Italian cuisine.
Omg the food was soooo good. The best part was pizza and the cocktails. Service was on point. Definitely a recommended spot.
Consistently good Italian food. Great portions for what you get. The pizza had generous amount of toppings compared to most places Ive been to. The gnocchi was tasty and creamy. The veal bolognese was flavourful and good amount of veal. Overall, a solid spot in the area for Italian food.
I ordered food on Uber eats and it took upwards of an hour only to be called by the delivery driver and told that my food was never made. I wasn t informed prior to wasting an hour of my time waiting. Spoke to the manager through delivery drivers phone and all I was told was that it is a busy weekend and their oven was broken so they couldn t fulfil the order let alone have the courtesy to cancel the order.
I went to Cellar Door Restaurant after reading in BlogTo that this is one of their 50 places to try Italian pasta. Having high hopes for some pasta and pizza after reading some good reviews, my mom and I were really shocked and disappointed. It took 20 minutes to have someone even acknowledge us after we sat down and then when we ordered, I was told that I couldnt have my pizza as they had run out of pizza dough! This was at 7pm on a Saturday night. How in the world a restaurant can run out of an ingredient which is for their bread and butter, I have no clue. We left annoyed and hungry. Thank God my Indian restaurant wasnt too far away. We had a fantastic meal at Kothur Restaurant. Tried to support my local restaurant but this was an utter fail.
Food was amazing. Tasty pizza and pasta. Service was slow, and it wasnt a particularly packed night. Overall, totally worth the price point and foodgasm experience.
Fantastic Neopolitan style pizza, tasty sauce, great sausage, cheese and other toppings. Friendly atmosphere and good prices.
I have only reduced a point for their tiramisu which honestly was nothing compared to the ones Ive eaten before. However, I thoroughly enjoyed their grilled shrimp and gnocchi pasta. They have a wide variety of drink options too along with their pizza options. I didnt have the space to eat a pizza but I look forward to visiting again for it soon. Thank you for making our Valentines Day special and memorable. A special mention to our waitress who gave me a rose when she saw that I did not like my tiramisu.
The best eggplant pizza I ve ever had!! And I never like eggplant on pizza.. I ve tried the mushroom pizza which is great too, but the eggplant pizza is mind blowing amazing!! Thanks for giving us such amazing pizza!!
COMPLETE dump. Food was so bad and so over priced for what you got. The walls are all beaten up. We went on a Wednesday night at 6:30p.m. and we were the only ones in the place. Paid $16.00 for a caesar salad. The bagged salad in Metro is superior over theirs. If I could have rated less than 1 star I would have. Oh, and it smells. Absolutely terrible. It will not last.
Good food. Ownership changed recently.y only complaint was the heat was way too high and they didn t change it when we pointed it out.
The food and service were excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
an absolutely AMAZING dinner, the food was made with passion and the menu was very comprehensive, the service was incredible (they accommodated us showing up to our reservation early) and the atmosphere was very welcoming, recommend it to anyone looking g for a lovely dinner!
It was ok. The pizza was better than the pasta but it was not piping hot. The calamari was good but Id rather have the sauce separate instead of under the squid.
Amazing food and service ! We will be back
Really good food! Only thing is, on Uber eats they advertise it being a certain type of homemade pasta but just give you regular store bought pasta.
Amazing food, great staff and nice vibes. Whether youre looking to dress up and go on a nice fancy date, have a night out with friends and family or looking to celebrate a special day, cellar door is an amazing spot for it all. Everything on the menu is amazing, my favorite was the rib eye steak and the seafood platter.
Came by on the weekend and absolutely loved it! Great service and amazing food, will definitely be coming back!
I spent my birthday here. Very nice and professional chefs and servers. Love the atmosphere. Thanks for the birthday dessert!
A change in management has also changed the quality of the food. I was served cold pizza and bland spaghetti. Too afraid to send it back to the kitchen as I always doubt that it could anger the chefs enough to contaminate the food. Definitely want the previous owner back. Truly disappointed.
Amazing food and great service!
Cellar Door has a great ambience, a nice cozy spot for couples and families to enjoy! Food was amazing, service was great. We requested some drinks not on menu and our server was able to accommodate without a problem. The wood fire oven pizza we ordered was so fresh and flavorful, would suggest everyone to try the Fig pizza! 10/10 recommend, cannot wait to come back!
Delicious food, great service, with fresh ingredients used in all the dishes we that ordered - grilled shrimp, fried calamari, risotto diavola and the figs pizza.
Incredible experience, gem of a restaurant. The pizza was one of the best I have ever tried, Naples style. Grilled calamari was also fantastic.
I forgot I came here when the whole vaccine passport was a thing however, I came back again and had a good experience. The ambiance and the atmosphere was very nice, the food was good and the staff were friendly. I just found the place to be a little cold, thats the only bad thing Id have to say.. I had the Lamb Ragu, it was good. Parking: Street parking. Just look for signs in regards paying.
This place is under New management, and the food was amazing! We had a group of 9 and the service was fantastic! Michelle did a wonderful job! For appetizers we got oysters, grilled calamari, and grilled shrimp which we all delicious! I especially loved the oysters. For our entrees I had the lamb Ragu pasta and they were able to make it a bit more spicier for me. My wife had the garlic shrimp pasta, we loved both our dishes. For dessert we got the panna cotta and tiramisu. Again, loved it! We were all very satisfied with the food on the service and will be definitely coming back. Thank you guys so much!
Superb food and service. The management has changed and they upped the taste and quality of the food it seems. Must try!
My new FAV Italian restaurant! Wow what a great random find. I had the most spectacular house wine and life-changing grilled calamari. I also ordered the Lobster risotto and it was so rich in flavour - made with a decadent sauce! The staff were friendly and attentive and answered all of our questions from start to finish. This spot absolutely exceeded my expectations. I ll be back here again!
Staff were very welcoming and attentive, despite the place being at capacity. Food was delicious, and the space is simple and lovely. Definitely returning.
Really amazing experience. Food and service was excellent.
Food and service was 10/10. Highly recommend!!
Had margherita mac an cheese , fantastic 5 , wonderful customer service and perfect ambiance
Best pizza I ve ever had!
This restaurant truly has an incredible atmosphere and the food is amazing. Great date night spot with good vibes and good food! Highly recommend trying the fig pizza!! As someone who doesn t eat pizza often, I was shocked at how much I loved it. Customer service was also 10/10!
Great atmosphere and the food is amazing and fresh! 10/10!
bad atmosphere
Had a great dinner here with friends. The service was great and fast! Fantastic Italian cuisine, pizza and pasta were both phenomenal. Good selection of wines as well, would highly recommend for a night out!
This spot s a hidden gem! The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Absolutely love the eggplant parm pizza. Overall fantastic restaurant with massive servings, great prices, and a nice dine-in atmosphere. Perfect for a date night while traveling around Toronto.
Service was great, nice ambiance atmosphere and the food was delicious!
amazing place to come with family and get good quality food! i always recommend this place to friends and family and the staff here are extremely nice and professional! would give this place 10/10!
Amazing service! Amazing food!
One of the best italian in etobicoke
Tasty food and great service. Good experience!
We visited Cellar Door recently and had an amazing experience. The customer service was top notch, with the server being extremely attentive, enthusiastic and one step ahead. We asked for several recommendations as this was our first time and we were not disappointed. Lovely place for pizzas, pastas, the calamari and seafood risotto were great and desserts were the perfect end to a great meal. This restaurant also comes with many vegetarian options. The icing on the cake was the owners coming by to get live feedback and thank us for our business. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!!
We just held an event for 40 people at Cellar Door. Everything was amazing! Absolutely fantastic service and food. They were so accommodating, great with all our guests. Even our guests commented on how great the service staff was. Throughout the whole planning process, Rav was great. All the food we had was fantastic. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Have been here a few times in the past under the previous ownership, but came back recently (under the new ownership) to host a private event. Happy to share that the staff and team at Cellar Door did an outstanding job! From the planning process, communications, accommodations, and the follow through in execution, they were fantastic. The food was amazing, and every guest (~25) was impressed with the food and the service. We d absolutely be coming back and would not hesitate to consider another future event.
Had the Margarita pizza and it was delicious :)
This was our first time there it was an absolute pleasure.the service was amazing, the food even better
The food is great, service is amazing!!!
Went yesterday, food was unathentic Italian...very bland, just spicy. Not to mention the server was slow and unattentive, would prefer eating pasta at boston pizza ...
We recently hosted a family event at Cellar Door and we were blown away by the food and service. The food was served beautifully and generously and it was delicious. The service was friendly and personable - always at arms reach. The staff went above and beyond starting with set up and ending with packing leftovers into small containers for guests to take home. We have received so many positive comments from our guests about the food and the service. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Kid-friendliness: We had a large kids table and the staff was so great at helping the little ones serve themselves. Everybody was happy, adults and kids alike!
The perfect little coziest place. Perfect ambiance and lovely food. Will definitely go again.
As the place has a great rating me and my friend decided to go there on Monday late afternoon. The place disorganized, both waiters lost, no idea what is in menu. We asked to get everything together.. didn t happen. I had my food after 40 mins and as a first, finished and my friend was waiting another 20 mins to get it. We ordered only appetizers. Our dishes where great though. The service definitely needs improvement.
The food and service was amazing here. My husband and I enjoyed our dine in experience, will definitely visit again.
Last night we celebrated my sisters birthday at the Cellar Door Restaurant. The food was great and the recommendations from our waitress were spot on. It wasn t busy and our service was great! From the meat and cheese platter to the pizza and pasta dishes, all were freshly made and served in large portions. Flavours were exceptional! A definite go to again for Italian cuisine. We came in from downtown Toronto and Burlington and it was well worth the drive. Parking: No issues with parking immediate around the restaurant.
We had a group of 20 on a Friday evening. Ankit and Diana were efficient, attentive, and so very welcoming! The establishment delivered on deliciousness as well. Thank you for an enjoyable and satisfying experience!
I ate at Cellar Door with a few girlfriends last weekend and this place was awesome. The service was amazing in general and our server was able to work around our groups allergies. Most importantly the food was delicious, we all ordered different things off the menu and shared - honestly I couldnt tell you what my favourite dish was but you cant go wrong with any of the pastas. The spicy margaritas were also so good, the bar was able to make mine very, very spicy - exactly what I asked for. Id recommend this place to all my friends. Parking: No issues with parking, was able to find one immediately when we went on a Sunday evening.
Did an early Mothers Day dinner and was very happy. The fig wrapped with prociutto, served pistachio honey was delicious. Salty and a bit sweet. Absolutely loved the wood oven fired pizzas. My favourite was the rabbit pizza, but the mushroom arugula was excellent too. Porchetta ravioli was not only beautifully plated, but was the standout piece for me. The pork mushroom stuffing was extremely tasty on its own, but the sauce ready put it over the top. (I legit stopped up the sauce with pizza crust so as not to let it go to waste.) Dessert was another special, rasberry chocolate mousse with edible gold. It was gorgeous and delicious. The chocolate was not overly sweet, and the raspberry filling was perfect. Very happy we found this restaurant!
I ve been debating on writing this review or not. I went a couple days ago to the restaurant and the food was great and the place is nice, the only issue was the service. It was my first time there and the waiter that I got, not only could not answer basic questions about the menu, but he had a strong smell. So, I do recommend the restaurant for the food, but try to avoid the tall waiter.
We had a fabulous meal on Mothers Day. The Rabbit pizza was fantastic and a unique option compared to other Italian restaurants, and the ravioli special was beautifully made. The raspberry chocolate mousse dessert was divine! I hope it goes on the menu full time, my only regret is that we ate it so quickly that I didnt get a picture of layers inside. Service was genuinely kind, despite the chaos of a MD service. The room is modern and nicely appointed, but I found it loud (typical for a space with almost no soft furnishings and lots of happy families). I am looking forward to going back!
Used to be really good - something changed big time unfortunately. Looks like new ownership and they can t make the same food experience that it used to be. Was amazing at one point. Too bad the original owners left.
Awful! 90 mins, no main course. Then they brought us the wrong food. Enough. We settled up appropriately with the haphazard waitress. Won t be back. Food
We cant provide a zero, so had to give 1 star. We waited over 2 hours for our meal which didnt come. We left the restaurant. We managed to get four drinks and two appetizers, which took over an hour to be served. For those drinks a ceasar salad and calamari, I paid $75.00. Save your money. It is not worth it at all. We were looking for a new place to eat and saw this place had great reviews. I have no idea what happened. It was an awful experience.
EXCELLENT ATMOSPHERE, FOODS & SERVICE
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cellar Door TO Restaurant, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Located at 3003 Lake Shore Blvd W in Etobicoke, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations and left me truly impressed. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The interior design is tasteful and modern, creating a relaxing atmosphere for an enjoyable meal. The attention to detail is evident, with comfortable seating and well-placed lighting that sets the mood perfectly. The service at Cellar Door TO Restaurant is exemplary. The staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They were more than happy to answer any questions we had and provided excellent recommendations throughout our dining experience. Now lets talk about the food, which was the highlight of the evening. The menu at Cellar Door TO Restaurant offers a delightful selection of dishes that showcase a fusion of flavors and creativity. Each dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with freshness. It was evident that the chef pays great attention to using high-quality ingredients and creating innovative combinations that tantalize the taste buds. The drink menu at Cellar Door TO Restaurant is also worth mentioning. They offer an extensive selection of cocktails that perfectly complement the dishes on offer. Whether its a special occasion or a casual dinner, this restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary experience. I look forward to my next visit to Cellar Door TO Restaurant to explore more of their delectable menu.
The crab carbonara was the worst pasta I have ever had in a restaurant. Along with tasting extremely bland, the food took over an hour to come out. Terrible place, dont waste your time.
The calamari was well cooked and not chewy at all. Otherwise everything we ate was weirdly bland and tasted of poor quality ingredients (I know what canned crab tastes like and there was a small shell fragment in my pasta). The sauce of my crab carbonara was mysterious - it was watery and a pale brown. Was it just the leftover liquid from the canned crab thickened with corn starch or something? My partner s pasta was underdone and chewy, but passable. And they also brought our appetizer out at the same time as our main courses because there was a mixup in the back. We also heard a group of women ask for a dish to be returned because it was so salty they could not eat it. editing in response to the owner s response: The server came over twice to ask how our dish was. Once, when bringing our mains over (she brought the appetizer over and then went to go get the mains so we had only had a few bites of the appetizer, grilled calamari, which was good). The second time was after we had had the chance to try our mains. I should have said something, but I have legitimately never been in a position where I ve wanted to return a dish to the kitchen - I didn t really know what to say. Lesson learned. Also carbonara sauces are made creamy with egg and pecorino (not cream), neither of which seemed to be in my sauce. In my experience, carbonara sauces aren t watery brown liquid.
This place is amazing! Loved the salmon alla vodka!
Excellent food and extremely helpful staff. It is very reasonably priced compared to similar venues. Perfect place for dinner parties and events!
Hosted a grad lunch here for about 25 people. Great food and great service. Would highly recommend for your next group function.
Unfortunately nothing to make me go back. Service rushed, dishes mediocre and the atmosphere like nothing outhentic or intresting.
Pick up orders are always late. Especially if picking up past sundown. Most of the time its not even being packaged. Usually they are at the stage of still cooking it.
Love, love, love this restaurant!! Great service, great atmosphere and delicious food We were a table of 6, everyone had something different and everyone loved their meal. I highly recommend The Cellar Door!
Delicious authentic, home-made Italian food that is made with love! I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Such a great experience. ----- EDIT: Since this review the ownership has changed along with the menu. Items shown are not available anymore.
First time here, had a great experience. We tried a variety of their pizzas (the cellar door, the truffle, and one with rabbit on it (forget the name). We also had the lobster ravioli and wrapped it up with some panna cotta dessert. The house wine is definitely worth trying. All in all, had a great experience, good ambiance, and even better food. Definitely a hidden gem in the west end. It was also a few mins away from the lake so we ended the night there. Kid-friendliness: Had my kiddo out on the patio and it was great. Friendly server and high chair was provided.
Excellent Italian food for a ridiculously low priced menu! Really hope this place gets busier soon because it is such a hidden gem. Well be back soon!
Cellar is a hidden gem that promises to delight your taste buds with its exceptional pizzas and charming ambiance. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. Happy they finally got a patio. Cant go wrong, amazing service paired with tasty dishes.
Delicious food. Very nice atmosphere!
We order food from Cellar Door last night and it was fabulous. The pasta was outstanding. The new owners are doing a great job!!!.
Ordered two wood fired margherita pizzas and a side of roasted fingerling potatoes through Ubereats. Very delicious!
I have been there 3x 1 time was good Today they served wrong pizza and reserved it.I believe it was comtaminated,we were served dough with toppings Should have said something, was over it,the people that work there dont care My partner was very sick, stay away from this place.
We/re foodies and you need to give Cellar Door a try or retry. This restaurant is under new management and the food and service is over the top good. You will not be disappointed.
Not too bad, food was little bland. They should include spicy level on the menu for the food. Head ups for not so fan of spicy foods. Base on my experience, the Spaghetti AllAmatriciana is spicy and the Rabbit Pizza is spicy. (I do love spicy foods BTW)
The food was really good, the waitress was really nice and friendly, highly recommend if you like Italian food.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. If youre craving pizza and pasta this is the best place.
Pizza was really good, everything else was...meh. All in all, pretty disappointed. Theres so many delicious Italian restaurants in the city and this one fell flat. Too bad.
Great food. Appropriate price point. Service was excellent. I highly recommend the Cacio E Pepe! At the end of our meal we ordered some bread per fare la scarpetta and they brought us fresh baked pizza bread from the oven, and they did not even charge for it! It was delicious and I can imagine their pizza is excellent as well, I ll order that next time. Our wait staff was very attentive and accommodating, making recommendations if required. We ll be back.
What a find. Three of us, a bottle and a half of wine and more than enough food and the bill with tip was $118.00. The young women looking after the front of house were funny and fabulous. Rachel and Nana you are amazing. Ash in the kitchen made a charcuterie board that is the perfect starter or meal depending. We will be back.
Great food but terrible service. Went there and the pizza came to the table 20 minutes before the pasta. Waitress was unapologetic and claimed kitchen issues. Talked to someone else who went there and the same issue. Had to ask for cheese, hot sauce etc and when they brought the cheese to the table it was in a small container to be shared among two people. Need to get your pizza/pasta orders coordinated and some experienced wait staff.
We had our first date night after months and decided to come here. Reviews were fairly decent which is the first thing I turn to. Walked in, was greeted nicely. The smell that hits you the second you step inside is to die for. At the back they had a nice wood burning oven where they were making pizza. I ordered the sausage and fennel pasta and my husband ordered the mushroom pasta. Both were delicious! I actually enjoyed the mushroom pasta just a tad bit more. The flavours were divine. We ate more than we usually do just because we couldnt stop eating it was that good! Highly recommend and definitely will be back. My only complaint would be that it was very cold in the restaurant. The back door was open so there was a direct draft towards us.
Good value and great tasting Italian food.
The food was really good and the portions are just the right size. The service is amazing! The waiter we had was so fun and welcoming, would 100% go back.
Great pizzas. Get the burrata.
I loved it Kid-friendliness: Conducive environment Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible
The food was amazing and our server was so kind! Make sure you try the spicy mussels and burrata pizza!
Spicy mussels are fantastic and the sauce is amazing!
Have been ordering from them on Uber Eats a handful of times. Food has always been good. Giving a 4 star because they forget items sometimes like my crostini for the mussels and sauce for the calamari.
Calamari, Pizza, Pasta highly recommended. Great prices and food is fantastic. Very nice decor inside and feels upscale.
Very good ambience and food was delicious. Must visit.
Had food at this lovely place. Food is amazing. Lovely atmosphere how ever the black server lady who served me brought out a different type of pasta instead of the one i ordered without telling me in advance that they have ran out of that pasta type. And second she charged me $2 for extra cheese that i requested without letting me know about the extra charge. I regret the tip i gave her but mainly it was for cook/chef who prepared the amazing meals at the back. I will definitely come back for the food but will on the look out for any dishonest servers
This is one of those restaurants with high Google ratings but offers overall mediocre experience. The service was decent, but food in general can be improved. Starting with what was good. The wood fired pizza was definitely the highlight. It has a thin crust, not doughy and has that smokey taste. It also has the right amount of cheese and toppings. It was a good pie. We also ordered the grilled calamari and charcuterie board to share among our group of five. It was a pretty decent size platter with a wide variety of meat, picked veggies, cheese, jam and bread. It was a nice platter to share. What was disappointing about our experience was the pasta. First the pasta doesnt taste homemade. Second the seafood tonnarelli I ordered doesnt really have much flavor except the saltiness. There was also broken clam shells mixed in the pasta that I kept having to pick out, and mostly empty shells. The rigatoni was pretty much the same, salty. These were just poorly executed dishes IMO. We also ordered a Caesar and it was a watered down version, and non spicy, it really doesnt taste like an authentic Caesar. I would not suggest ordering. Stick to the wines for drinks. All in all, its worth trying their wood fired pies and charcuterie, but not so much their pasta dishes.
Fantastic place for a celebration dinner! We went for my dads birthday and it was absolutely delicious! Nana, our waitress was not only kind and attentive but also so funny. She allowed us to take our time between courses and really enjoy each other s company. The food was so good we were planning our next visit while eating still. We decided to try a bunch of stuff and it was well worth it! We ordered the olive mix, speducci, and burrata salad to share. Then ordered the confit rabbit gnocchi, seafood risotto and veal bolognese. The smell of every dish was intoxicating. For dessert they gifted my dad the tiramisu on the house which he gobbled up so quickly noone else got to try it. We also ordered cannoli and pana cotta. With our starters we got a round of cocktails that Nana also made top notch and for dinner we ordered a lovely red. Their wine list is smaller than expected due to the name, but every option is well reviewed and not commonly available. Overall, none of us can wait to go back! Thank you for hosting. Parking: After 6pm free street parking Wheelchair accessibility: All one floor with no steps or ledges.
If you think this counts as prosciutto pizza then sure also, pizza always arrives cold. I ve ordered pizza from there around 10 times. The food is inconsistent, I only got pizza, some times it s great sometimes it s very poorly made like there are very few toppings.
The food was phenomenal and the service was exceptional waitress Nana was very warm welcoming and informative. OVE
Warm cozy restaurant along lakeshore. Polenta fries were yumm. Also enjoyed the pasta. Service was great. Kahika made sure we were satisfied with the quality and went above board to keep us happy.
Amazing experience dinning at this local gem, super friendly staff, quick and efficient service and finally amazing food Highly recommend the FIG PIZZA Food
Great place to dine in small or larger groups. Exceptional and extremely tolerant wait staff (asked to take a group photo and delivered an on the house dessert for the university graduate). Food was great. Loved the mushroom and arugula pizza.
I ordered a mushroom pizza to go and it was amazing. It had a good amount of toppings, not too salty and not too flavorful. The price was definitely worth it! Plus the waiter who helped me was very nice. Vegetarian options: Really good vegetarian options from mushroom to eggplant to other veggie pizzas
Went on a Monday evening for dinner. Food smelled great, but thats about it. Risotto was comparable to high school cafeteria porridge. The rabbit pizza was not bad, but certainly not worth $60 for two plates before tip. General atmosphere is that of someone who used to care. Thermostat was falling off the wall, the smoke detector was taped to the ceiling, etc. Server didnt even bring both of our meals at the same time. The lack of pride at least kept us entertained (see pics)
Our party of four had an amazing evening last night at The Cellar Door. Our server Michelle went above and beyond with her smile and excellent service. Food was hot and super delicious from appetizers to pizzas and pasta and risotto. Will definitely go back soon! Thank You Cellar Door
Honest review here from our party of 6. First the pros. Our server was fantastic and we let her know it. The food was delish even won over my picky teen. The cons. We arrived at 6:30 and the place was at about 80% capacity. They only had 3 servers on staff for a pretty busy Saturday night. They needed at least 2-3 more. The lighting was so dim everyone in our section was using their phones to read the menu. Our garlic bread arrived cold, our server comped it and replaced it. I don t know what the chefs made us for our replacement but it was nothing like the first one. Drinks took forever which I suspect was due to servers having to bartend as well. Again only 3 servers for the whole place. Took about an hour for 3 of the 4 pizzas to arrive and another 15 min for the 4th. Then another 5 for the other two mains. At a restaurant like this we shouldn t be eating in shifts. Again, NOT the servers fault. This is a kitchen issue. While eating the male server walked past our table spraying a heavy floral air freshener so now that s all I could smell or taste and frankly ruined my meal. We asked him about it next time he appeared and said another table at the front of house complained about a strange smell. So he sprayed near our tables at the back. Please educate your server on how this can ruin a meal. We tried he didn t care. No we would not go back. But it s not due to our amazing accommodating server, or quality of food. But due to the overall poor experience. Oh and the Biscoff gelato was delish!
Solid Italian and great for the area
Had a wonderful time hosting a larger party at Cellar Door! Working with Rav to accommodate my party, dining options, etc. was phenomenal, and the food was good!
