624-B The Queensway, Etobicoke, ON M8Y 1K3, Canada
Long-time classic Italian eatery with a laid-back ambiance & a menu of pastas, sandwiches & pizzas.
My first visit to Mamma Martino's and I was truly impressed by this delightful gem. From the moment I went inside, I felt the warm, family-like atmosphere with a homestyle decor to match. The service is exceptional, with attentive staff who genuinely care about your experience.Don't miss their garlic bread—it's a must-try! The spaghetti and meatballs are generously portioned and bursting with flavor, while the eggplant parmigiana is simply divine. Plus, they serve real Parmesan cheese! Not to mention the salads are incredible, I loved everything. If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine, Mamma Martino's is the place to be! 🍝❤️.
5-Star Review: Had a great dinner at Mamma Martino’s. The food was solid and definitely worth the price. The ravioli was tasty, and the portion size was perfect. My friend got the Linguini Pescatore, which came loaded with seafood — good value for the cost. We also grabbed some garlic bread and a salad to start, both simple but hit the spot. Service was quick and friendly, and the place has a nice, casual vibe. For just over $60, it’s hard to beat. If you’re looking for a good meal that won’t break the bank, this is the spot. Would definitely go back.
Delicious Italian food! I had the chicken parmigiana which was absolutely amazing, a perfect combination of sauce and chicken. There was a long line to get in and get inside the restaurant but it was definitely worth it. It's nice inside.
Everyone raves about this place (though some seem to not like it at all), so we thought we would give it a try. Got there at 6pm on a Friday night and it was pretty full by 6:30. Tons of staff, all scurrying about making sure everything is going well. Waitress we had was great, friendly and efficient, she helped make it a good night. Not a ton of food choices, but a huge menu usually isn't a good thing (looking at you Cheesecake Factory). I had lasagna, it was decent, not the best, but good. Other had ravioli, they liked. And my oldest had 4-cheese pizza. He quite enjoyed it, though only made it through 2 slices. But he happily ate the leftovers the next day. Two small criticisms. We got garlic bread to start, it was dry and bland. Expected more butter and garlice, we actually didn't even finish it, which is a first for this family. My wife and I also ordered a chef's salad to share, but we never got it. Weren't charged for it, but we did want to try it. Price wasn't too bad for 4, under $100 for 2 apps, drinks and 4 entrees. I think it is the atmosphere that people like. It really has that 80s family-run Italian restaurant vibe. Lots of regulars, staff greeting people, people having a good time at surrounding tables. This isn't Giulietta, but we didn't expect it to be. We don't live in the area, but if we wanted Italian and we were back in Etobicoke, we'd probably try it again. Beats the corporate vibe of Scaddabush. P.S. Bonus points for me accidently picking the place next door to the haunted house we were planning to go to after dinner. Yes, I am S.M.R.T. for not connecting the Martino name to the 2 places. Happy accidents, right?
Really enjoyed our dinners at this nostalgic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately they didn't have any gluten free pasta, but we were able to enjoy salads and chicken. It was delicious though. Atmosphere was fun. People were lined waiting to enter as we were leaving. We didn't see a main floor bathroom but used the stairs to go to the lower level bathrooms. They were out of draft beer and also no class for a few pasta dishes.
Really friendly, happy and yummy Italian restaurant. Recommend the Mussels and Calamari. You must try the handmade spaghetti.
Secret treasure for homemade authentic Italian food in Toronto. Family run and you feel the welcoming friendly atmosphere the second you walk in. Feels like being at your aunts and uncles house for Sunday dinner. Very fair prices and decent portions, you will not leave hungry. Delicious food!!!! Worth the line up and struggle to find parking on busy days. Must try the fettuccini alfredo with ham and homemade pasta noodles.
My experience here was nothing short of delightful. The combination of delicious food and exceptional service makes it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommend trying the lasagna & tiramisu!
Mamma Martinos has friendly service. Upon entering, we waited for about 10 minutes and were greeted by the hostess with a warm smile. Our server was attentive and helpful with menu recommendations. The food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly, which was a plus. The taste of the food was average and not particularly memorable. The pasta dishes were cooked a little bit soft and had decent flavor, but lacked any sort of wow factor. The sauces were basic and could have used more depth and complexity. The portions were ample, but not generous. The ambiance was typical of an Italian restaurant with dim lighting. It was a bit noisy, but not to the point of distraction. Overall, Mamas Martinos is a decent option for a casual Italian meal, but it doesnt stand out from the crowd. If youre in the area and craving Italian food, its worth checking out, but dont expect a gourmet experience. Vegetarian options: Ask the wait staff Dietary restrictions: Talk to wait staff Parking: Not a lot of spots available. Good luck on weekends. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is not wheelchair friendly
Great food and great service. I always order sandwiches, have yet to be disappointed
Good food fun atmosphere!
Mamma Martino s delivers an exceptional Italian dining experience with generous portions and fresh, flavorful dishes. The Linguini Pescatore was loaded with tender seafood in a perfectly seasoned tomato sauce, while the Ravioli with Tomato Sauce was simple and delicious. With friendly service and great value, this is the perfect spot for authentic Italian food!
We got there at 3 pm on a Saturday and they immediately put us on the pateo despite advising them I was cold several times. The garlic bread wasn t heated properly and you can tell it was frozen. Food took 45 minutes to come despite we were the first to arrive and the place wasn t as busy as it has been in the past. Pizza use to be incredible now it was much thinner, and we were charged $3.00 to add basil which was sprinkled excessively all over the pizza which ruined it. Margarett s pizza has a few basil leaves included, so not sure why the extra charge and why sprinkle it all over. Basil was not fresh. My pasta carbinera had a hair in it. I immediately advised the waitress. They took it and returned it back but kept it on the bill. It was good but had no salt and I m not a salt person. Do not order grill chicken. No healthy choices, no greens available. Positive: meatballs and rigatoni were good and the seafood spaghetti. Overall there seems to be no care how the dishes are put together.
Bad service
This is a great Italian family restaurant. We had a large group for a birthday party and the food felt like it was cooked by my wifes Nona. The price also cant be beat! With wine, our party paid $52/person. I definitely recommend and will be going back at my next opportunity!
Great food. Good price, amazing atmosphere
Waitress and waiters are not very friendly very rude the second time at restaurant worse this time bar tender was also a server she dove down my throught very rude and yelled at me saying she is busy I have to wait my turn garlic bread was not warm and second time Burt and then the bread never came asked for 2 times garlic bread never came the Burt bread was thrown on table like I am a dog horrible experience there talked to manager she was not nice at all said I will not come back and another workers said very loud good dont come again asked for 2 seperate bills they said its not possible I didnt leave a tip and again were very rude didnt even give me a bag to bring my food home had to ask 3 different staff members outside light are almost falling off the light fixture didnt feel safe walking by it not a good experience dont go there when I got home had to throw up was sick all night
Great food and service by clementina great price thank you
Very good home made Italian food. Excellent value
Amazing food. Loved the menu and vibe. Will definitely be going again.
Pizza and spaghetti with chicken parm was amazing! Would highly recommend.
We came for the first time after driving by and seeing this place absolutely packed every time we go by. Gave it a try today and it very good. Food is simple, reasonably priced and tasty. It is by no means fine dining, but very delicious and approachable. Very classic Western pasta house. Everything hit the spot, but the desserts were the highlight for me. We got the pistachio cake and tiramisu. Coffee was tasty as well. Chad, our server, was great. Took great care of us and was very friendly. Weve both worked in restaurants for almost 15 years - thisll be our go-to cozy spot around home from now on.
Great family style restaurant. Food is always good.
Have been coming here for years. The food is excellent, portions are generous, service is excellent and prices are VERY reasonable. Lovely family run resturant.
Visit and place has grown - very nice ordered a party size pizza thin crust and this time their pizza wasnt up to their best the dough was not holding the toppings and when you picked a slice the toppings fell off plus pizza dough was little burnt. The pizza was still delicious just didnt want to eat the toppings and than eat the bottom separate. I didnt want to say anything to embarrassing my group..I know their pasta, sandwiches, salads are amazing guessing just received a somewhat bad pizza. I would recommend this place hands down. Great service very clean and 99% great food.. enjoy
My after work dinner-go-to! Quality for price is unbeatable. Always friendly staff and owner is there often greeting guests !
We ve been loyal customers of Mamma Martino s for years, always enjoying the delicious food and excellent service. However, our last visit left us deeply disappointed. We invited friends, one of whom relies on a service dog (an Akita Inu) for medical reasons. After waiting in a long line, we were finally seated. Unfortunately, the host (a blonde lady) approached our table and rudely informed us that they don t accept dogs and that this time was an exception. Despite us explaining that it was a service dog and showing all the required documentation, she made an inappropriate and offensive comment: He is not behaving as a service dog. She also claimed, The owner wouldn t accept this dog here, specifically citing the size of the dog as an issue. Her attitude was rude and visibly hostile about the dog s presence. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also illegal. Service dogs are protected under the law, and denying access based on size or other arbitrary reasons is discriminatory. We decided to stay since we had already waited and were hungry, but the experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We re now reconsidering whether we ll return to a place we once loved. Management needs to address this issue seriously and ensure staff are properly trained to handle situations like this in a respectful and legal manner.
Authentic Italian tasting food as confirmed by my 90 year old Italian mother. We celebrated her 90th birthday there and she was extremely happy with food, just like how her and her mother would have make it! The waitress was great helping us with a small cake we brought along to celebrate. You will not get a better price, quality and quantity of of food anywhere. Our first time there and definitely will have multiple return trips. Highly recommend from a first generation Italian.
Quite a line up even at 5:30, but totally worth it. Prepare to park a block or two away.
4 couples went to Mamma Martinos on October 26/24 for a double birthday celebration dinner. My first time there but some of the family had been there before. We waited in line to get in and it was all very orderly and well managed. The ambience inside was quite good and there seemed to be a lot of staff to serve everyone (it was very full). Pretty much everyone ordered some kind of Parmigianna (veal, chicken, eggplant) they all said it was good. My wife and I had the spaghetti carbonara which was not very good at all. My wife barely touched hers and while I ate most of mine, I can honestly say weve made better at home. The cream was very watery and seemed to us it was actually milk. While it was hard to tell, the little bit of pancetta that was in there tasted more like bacon. The pasta seemed to be home made but was a bit thicker than spaghetti should be. We also ordered appetizers. The calamari was for sure right out of a bag into the fryer. The traditional bruschetta was not toasted, had no olive oil on it. Basically some slices of bread with diced tomatoes on them. The mussels in tomato sauce were good but the sauce was very watery and no bread was served with it which is the norm. One of our party didnt get their order until the rest of us were almost finished eating (they apparently gave her order to another table). We never got the garlic bread we ordered although it was on the bill (they removed it). We also got a bowl of soup that we didnt order although there was a discussion about one of us mentioning soup. However, when the server repeated back to us our initial appetizer order, she never mentioned soup. It is worthy to note that the prices are very reasonable but I would rather pay the extra 4 or 5 dollars per plate to get the quality of food and service.
Got the cabanara for takeout and it was the driest pasta Ive ever had...even if its cheaper than other pasta places, the food is still not good. The garlic bread barely has any garlic tastes too. Just not worth it
We came for dinner with my family after 12 years of living in the area and hearing good things about this local restaurant. Unfortunately we will not be back. The server was rushing us and did not give us enough time to order. It seemed that she just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. The food was simply awful. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and the calamari came with a side of plain tomato sauce fresh out of a can. We all ordered different kinds of pasta. I had carbonara and only had a few bites - couldnt force myself to eat more. It was tasteless, overcooked and no amount of pepper or parmesan cheese could save it. Both my daughters left practically all of the food on their plates (Spaghetti alla Neapolitana and Rigatoni with meatballs) and did not want to take any home. My husband ate most of his Angel Hair but also mentioned how bland it tasted. I tried one of the meatballs - it was dry and hard. Overall we were very disappointed and will not be returning. The prices are more than reasonable but still it was a complete waste of money because we barely ate anything.
Mama Martinos is a family business which consistently delivers delicious and authentic Italian food which is well priced. We have been going here for years. They don t take reservations so get there early.
BEST PLACE EVER. The environment is amazing and the interior of the place is so beautiful. i loved my pasta and the little short blonde hair busser gave me the sweetest smile which made my day. it is one of the best places to eat in the city. and the haunted house in the back is so scary and amazing
We only ate here because we were going to the haunted house next door. The food was awful. Tasteless and simply bland. I got the spaghetti carbonara and it lacked so much flavour. Ive ordered carbonara many times at other restaurants so I was appalled on how this tasted. I had to add salt, pepper and cheese in order to eat it. The garlic bread was very mid and basic.. nothing special. Barely tasted the garlic, but cant complain it was only $1. My friends also didnt enjoy their meals. The service was ok, but not the greatest and the manager I believe wasnt very pleasant. The only reason it gets a 2 star is because the prices are cheap, which probably explains the horrible food. Overall I will not return.
Didnt like waiting in line for a long time in the cold. The meatballs are bland, grainy and poor quality. I tried chicken parmasen and it was ok but the second layer had no cheese. It wasnt the tenderest chicken. Im quite disappointed. Im sorry but just being honest.
Not sure about the hype about this place. Food is not the best. Very basic. Not much taste. Atmosphere is probably what bring people in.
The food was great. Atmosphere is really good. Fun place
Mamma Martino is like grandma house, the food is delicious
The place was packed for the haunted house they set up for halloween with a line out the door. I thought wed have to wait for a really long time but they managed to seat everyone and us very quickly. The owner was incredible at managing the crowd and keeping everything in order. The food had a very homemade Italian dinner feel and was delicious. Great portion sizes and very reasonable prices make this a place where I would love to go back with the whole family if I have the chance. The pizza was excellent and the pasta had a great tomato sauce. Lots of vegetarian options made this a great menu all around. Despite the rush of people for Halloween we also never felt rushed or hurried either. Will definitely come back at some point.
We used to go to Mamma Martino for years, the last time the tiramisu was frozen inside, but today the dinner was terrible, the chicken parmigiana was frozen in the middle, the bread crumbs on the top of the meat were saughy, the chicken with mushrooms the meat tasted funny, and was hard to cut, my decaf cappuccino horrible the milk tasted bad, should be better to charge more and keep the food quality of the real Italian cuisine....very disappointed
Food was simple but delicious at a reasonable price and the staff was very friendly :)
I like-a spaghetti
Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is good you will wanna come here the wait is long but when you get your food it s worth it Food
One of my favorite restaurants exquisite food
Great food at a family friendly price. Old school Italian restaurant vibe with huge portions. The chicken parm is amazing.
Absolutely love this place Service is great and the food is even better! Food
Feels like mamas kitchen, Italian edition. Great food, amazing atmosphere! Food
Excellent as always
Affordable prices, good food and atmosphere.
Always love coming here to eat
A 30+ year customer and I keep going back. Its an excellent resturant (delicious food, atmosphere, quality, price and portions) ; its just the best and doesnt get any better. A two thumbs up Parking: Come early, lots of side street parking
The restaurant is pleasant, the food is delicious without being spectacular. The service is important to improve
That s was very yummy food. I really like it.
I was very happy I had a chance to discover this place. Great atmosphere and food. This place feels full of real life where people talk, stand in line, walk around and care of each other. This place is a gem
Super quality at a reasonable price and great service!
My favourite Italian restaurant in Etobicoke for the past decade. All the food I ve eaten from here has been fantastic. I have three go-to meals that I come here for. The pizza is delish. Vegetarian options: Options are limited but doable. Ravioli is vegetarian. Parking: Parking around the restaurant. You can also park on the side streets in the daytime. I ve parked a 5-tonne truck on the street and parked and had lunch. So not too difficult during the daytime. Kid-friendliness: A very popular family friendly restaurant.
Such a fabulous restaurant. Old school is perfect for me !!!
Great food
I came here for the haunted attraction specifically, so I cant rate the restaurant. However if its anything like their haunted house, Id definitely come back again!
friendly and delicious Italian restaurant. Go for the lasagne instead of pizza.
Amazing food and prices
Pizza could ve been cooked more, and the crust was very thin, too crunchy for my taste.
Great food ..menu selections are reasonable ..great family environment .. u can tell the staff cares ..
Been coming here since they opened. Reliable, reasonably price Italian fare. I love the pizzas here.
The price reflects the service and the food.
By far the best Italian homemade cooking. Always great food, service and pricing Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, high chairs
Pretty sad not sure why a place that is so busy and making $$$ would cheap out on their ingredients- they changed the mozzarella cheese -it s the fake one now. It ruins the food - they use it on everything (garlic bread, pizza etc). The Alfredo is no longer made with cream tastes watered down milk. We have going here for 20 years. Pretty sad how things have changed - price is still good despite going up
Just had a phenomenal veal sandwich, the service is excellent, and the pricing is very good, will definitely be coming back when I m in the West End
Good food reasonably priced.
Top notch. Family friendly. Just whats needed. Good service. Tasty and good value
Would highly recommend. Tasty and the price was great! Service was good as well
I absolutely loved.. Delicious food at an affordable price.. Service was amazing.. Ill definitely be back next time Im in the area..
I ordered take out last week. We waited a total of 76 mins for an order that was promised on 40 mins.I didnt kick up dust when the order was wrong, as the were slammed. The yong woman taking the order was truly overwhelmed The pasta in the Alfredo was WWAAYY too thick. The sauce was broken. The house salad was literally two tomato wedges with wilted ice burg lettuce. 2 freaking tomato wedges( no where on the menu does it state thats all youre getting for a salad) ordered brushetta got garlic bread. The container of salad dressing was guacamole not dressing. Again, they were slammed and front of house was totally proper. However.... Tonight, with a the front of the restaurant fully lit! (The outside of the restaurant) The woman that aggressively informed me that they were closed. Was the tine in herr voice! As a veteran server. It was far more than necessary for me to decide that okish food, semi accurate order completion is NOT NEARLY ENOUGH to over ride shitty server reactions. If youre ok with one of your meals being inedible, app being wrong, salad dressing missing. Waiting over and hour and a half for 2 meals+ a bowl of wilted lettuce, only to be greated by employees with a crappie attitude......well... this is for you Darlin, Should you prefer your $60 for 3 peoples take out to be served with a smile, prompt and accurate... THIS MIGHT NOT BE YOUR SPOT!!
It is sad that people take a name and then play with it. It is the must disheartening experience for a person that use to like the Italian food. NOT ANYMORE !!!
Excelente Food but terrible service, very slow and they always get the order wrong.
I don t know how anyone can eat that fake pizza with that fake loaded on mozzarella cheese. What is that? Only thing good about this place is the prices. The food was seriously inedible.
I have been to Mama Martinos restaurant once before and would have given it a good review. My memory of the experience is that we waited in a large line that moved at a reasonable pace, ordered food which all came out extremely quickly (perhaps too quickly), and overall it was a good experience. Fast forward to last night. Arrived around 6pm and the line was big but not huge and initially moved well. It came to a big slow down, where many parties were leaving the restaurant, but a similar amount were not being seated in response. As we got inside and could see what was going on, there were tons of empty tables, and a hostess who was seating people whenever she could get around to it in between also being a manager, server, etc. We (party of 2) got seated finally and had about 45 minutes until we had to leave for a movie but figured it would be fine if we just ordered immediately based on past experience. After waiting several minutes with no acknowledgement or water, I got up to find a server to ask if we could put in an order. Thats when it was clear this wasnt going to be a good night. The hostess pointed to our server who looked at me rudely and said she hadnt gotten to all her tables yet and was very annoyed I dared try to speak to her. When she finally approached us she was immediately rude, and I just said politely, we really would love to be able to eat here and just want to order quickly. Figured ordering a salad, spaghetti and pizza would come out in abut 10 -15 minutes. The salad and bread came quickly, however after about 25 more minutes of waiting (and continued avoidance from our server), my boyfriend was finally able to ask her if we could either cancel our food order and pay for what we had, or take the food go to and pay. She was incredibly rude and awkward about it but went to prepare our bill. A minute after she walked away the pizza we ordered came, so we just asked for a box, no problem. When the server returned she looked at us with such anger as if we had gone to the kitchen ourselves and picked up the pizza. Meanwhile it had obviously been ready for a bit. So then she goes to change the bill and comes back with a bill that includes a spaghetti dish we never received. My boyfriend simply says what are we going to do about the pasta? and again she was so rude, and made us uncomfortable, explaining well do you want it?. At that point we just wanted to leave so she changed the bill and we paid, to which she says its really been a treat. I have never had a ruder server, despite the fact that we had exactly two interactions with her. If we had been seated in any other section I know this wouldnt have been a problem. Its sad because we really do like the restaurant, but its clear they are only nice to the customers they recognize.
delicious food
The people at mamma Martino are always so happy and smiling
Love this place!! Our go to restaurant for some good ol Italian comfort food!! Warm and comfortable atmosphere, servers are friendly and attentive. Even though its always packed on any given night the wait time for food is minimal. Cant go wrong with the Bruno salad to start, followed by my go to meal of either the spaghetti carbonara or the penne alla Bruno. (I always ask to add mushrooms to these dishes....chefs kiss!) Family favourites are the pizza and the linguine pescatore. An espresso or cappuccino to finish off your meal. If you still have room try the carrot cake, but Im always way to full. Parking is limited out front and back but there is parking availability on the street.
Exactly what I was craving for.
Truly felt like a home cooked cozy meal, left feeling full, happy, and excited to come back again. Amazing service, kind folks, and a great relaxed atmosphere!
I had the most awful experience Ive ever had at any restaurant in my entire life. The service was absolutely despicable. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday as I heard the food was amazing. We were seated and the waitress took our order at 8:30pm. We ordered garlic bread & calamari for an appetizer and 2 drinks and then ordered our main dish. At around 9pm we still did not have our appetizers or drinks. Not a single server even approached us. They had been in our area serving others and chatting everyone else up. We had to go to the bar to ask for our drinks and our server said oh sorry I was busy. Fine. We were still pleasant and understanding. Now its close to 9:30pm and we still did not receive our appetizers or our main dish. We called our waitress over and asked if we can at least get the garlic bread. She rolled her eyes said you still didnt receive your bread? She told us she would look into it. She comes back and says oh someone took the paper I wrote your order on. No apology. She just kept sighing as if it wasnt her fault and asked us to re-order. At this point we are hungry and impatient but still pleasant and understanding. Finally a new waitress came to us with our food close to 10pm when they were closing and we were at this point very upset and ready to walk out. We explained our situation to her and she was apologetic (finally, a pleasant server). We took our food to go. She told us to leave through the emergency exit. As we walked passed the outside patio another server and our original server proceeded to argue with me right over other customers tables. Unprofessional and trashy servers. For them to act this way is a horrible reflection of this Italian restaurant. Management should be completely embarrassed of their staff. Please screen who you hire. Do better. The food that we did manage to eat was very good. Its a shame I will never step foot in that restaurant again. And I will not recommend to anyone.
Mamma Martinos is a reasonably-priced, authentic Italian restaurant that my family has visited for years. Our go-to apps are the white wine mussels, calamari, and garlic bread. The calamari comes with a wonderful, fresh tomato sauce. The white wine sauce is great for dipping bread into, or you can ask for olive oil on the side and/or sprinkle some parmesan on the garlic bread. Mamma Martinos is one of the few restaurants that serve Peroni on tap, however on our most recent visit, the beer temperature was only slightly cooler than room temp and tasted a bit sour. Overall, the food is great (fresh sauce, and the best Italian sausage weve ever had), but well pass on the beer.
Amazing. Everything is so good. The Lasagna is the best in the city. So many thin layers. Cant go wrong at all. The entire menu is classic and good. Pizza is secretly really decent. Try it for the next takeout. All Antipasti is good. Cant go wrong with any of them. Local favorite, go year round. Summer Patio is super fun.
The food was excellent service was very good great atmosphere . I cannot believe the price in windsor you would pay $8 to $10 more per plate .
The food was excellent, however the absent of service is appalling. The server did the bare minimum to get the food to the table (aka just taking the order). Then promptly ignored the whole back section and never even passed by once. We had to go to the front and get the bill wrapped up so we can finish dinner.
This place is great. Food is delicious and the portion/price is unbeatable
Best Italian pizzas in Toronto!
I visited them once out of interest, took a pizza and while it was cooking had a glass of beer, had time to look around, cozy, the staff is attentive and thats nice, I felt important and they try to make you feel comfortable, communication with the staff leaves positive emotions, and yes, the pizza is really delicious! Parking: They are crowded in the evenings, with such service and delicious food its not surprising!
We all definitely have different tastes in food. I don t know how ppl can talk so highly about this place. Being Italian and knowing exactly what authentic or even basic Italian food tastes like .. I have to say that this place is far from it. We were a group of 6 ppl and all became ill after we left this establishment. Their bruschetta had no flavour- it was drowning in olive oil. Their pasta sauces were very bland and even the homemade noodles left a terrible after taste in our mouths. The salads were plain, with 2 tomatoes on the side- no additional vegetables it was just all terrible. Even after we told the waitress to pls take away the bruschetta because it wasn t edible , we were still charged for it. Our waitress came to our table twice and the rest of the time we were served by busboys We will not be returning to this establishment.
I love this place, it s actually my family s favourite restaurant and we come here often on many occasions. The family who owns it, is really nice people. The reason for 3 star for food cause you definitely can tell the food has chanced a bit. The garlic bread doesn t taste like it used to, doesn t have any taste of it being garlic bread. We had 2 bowls of Mussels ( white and red) and the red had a weird after taste and the white seemed so watery that it didn t have a taste whatsoever. My Penne Alburno was of course wonderful. I hate to complain especially it being my favourite restaurant but felt the need that you guys should know!
I have been going to Momma Martinos for years. The food and staff are the best. Vegetarian options: Eggplant parmigiana Salad Minestrone soup. Veggie pizza
Appreciate the wholesome ingredients, their Fettuccine Alfredo is authentic using real cream, so delicious! My friend ordered the lasagna and was very happy with it too. Great place for gatherings with family & friends.
Such good food...at great prices and the portions are big! This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years! Always good to see Bruno, as well!
Great experience at this place. You get a 5 stars for service, variety of food on the menu, the taste of food, the restaurant s atmosphere, reasonably priced. We will definitely come back! Food
I am not being paid or am I related..lol! My go to meal has been Veal Marsala and I was hungry and what came to me was Mama Martino. Why not, my local Italian. Yes, Veal Marsala with salad. Separate plates of course. I am in love. Lol! Im hungry... Things do get better. Delicious. Great love ambience. Lived the experience.
Great place great food great price
The food is always good here and very reasonably priced. We come on average 1-2 times a month. Always nice to see families here with their young children all having a good time. The pasta is always freshly made, and you can taste the difference. I think all the food is great here. This restaurant has been around for a long time, and that speaks well of itself. Vegetarian options: I know they have an eggplant parmigiana that is amazing. I have had it several times myself. And other various pasta dishes that are vegetarian friendly. Just ask your server and Im sure they can recommend some amazing dishes Parking: Parking can be difficult, specially during peak times Kid-friendliness: Always plenty of happy kids and families
Have been going to this restaurant since the 80 s , typically establishments in the food industry don t survive past 5 yrs so this place is pretty special with this tenure Bruno and his staff do a great job, are very attentive , food is consistent We had the chefs salad , nice garlic pesto blend. For our mains we had the seafood linguini in red sauce, which was not too fishy so the calamari , mussels and shrimp were quite fresh. Dessert- tiramisu was fresh with a hint of coffee with fresh whipped cream
Its a ok.
Authentic Italian restaurant, excellent atmosphere & table service, exceptional food quality. Have been going here for over 30 years and have never been disappointed. Parking: Some free parking in front plus pains or free parking on the Queensway depending on the time. There could be spots on the side streets too but more difficult to find.
Always Fantastic!!!!!! Always busy and always great service!! Food
The place is very nice! The decor is pleasant and the food delicious! The prices are not expensive and the atmosphere will transport you! I will come back for sure!
Was recommended by my boss, phenomenal food, absolutely amazing.
Ive frequently had dinner there for many years. The food is very good with generous helpings. The staff is gracious and attentive. Bruno, tho owner is the best!!!
Great food, nice atmosphere. One of the few places I will eat pasta at.
Delightful! Fun vibe, great food & great wine
If your looking for some authentic Italian food this is the place! I grew up with Italian neighbors and this food reminds me of my childhood. A definite recommend! Food
Great neighbourhood spot for home style Italian food. Portions are great, service is friendly and attentive. Very affordable menu.
I love this place so much
My favorite Italian restaurant in the city. They have the best calamari hands down.
We love Mamas. Food is amazing every time. Cutest little restaurant. Not overly crowded. The only downside is that sometimes there can be a wait to be seated. We make sure to stop everytime we are in town.
Had a great experience. Food was very fresh and portions were very generous. The gnocchi was so fluffy and the fettuccini had a perfect bite to it. The Caesar dressing was definitely made in house as are the pastas. I have zero complaints and the service was so friendly and prompt. The prices are also incredible.
A must-stop for myself and my family friends any time were in the area. The food is homemade and the prices are truly unbeatable. Our favorite is the veal scaloppine, but the pizza is also a good choice!
The service was good, however, the food was terrible from the starters to the mains. We ordered garlic bread, bruschetta bread, Alfredo pasta, pizza (ground beef, mushrooms and cheese) and chicken with white pasta sauce. Ohhh my god I have been in Italian restaurants in Toronto every weekend but this one is the worst ever!!! I hope they will work on their menu very deeply!!!
Always my favorite go to place when I m in the neighbourhood. Can t go wrong with the chicken Marsala and carbonara!!
Had been wanting to try this restaurant in our neighbourhood for awhile. Unfortunately my wife and I didnt have the best experience. The food was delicious and affordable but the service was not great. We waited over an hour for our appetizer and main course, and I m pretty sure they forgot about us. We had to ask 3 waiters about our bruschetta appetizer, until someone finally went to get it for us. We left disappointed after our first visit. I would eat here again, but take out seems like the best way to go.
This place was great around 3-4 years ago i am 100% sure that they have a new cook the food 3-4 years ago was amazing now this place is not that good my son allways has the penny albruno there the sause changed so much and i would have it too and it did change if you have been coming here more than 3 years then you would agree with me
The workers were kind at the start and are extremely kind now the food is always fresh but there were a lot of employees smoking in the back(that doesn t matter to much)and the atmosphere can make you feel In Italy. Vegetarian options: It has vegan options but the main amount of food has meat Dietary restrictions: The food has proteins and it is easy to stay on track with you re diet here Parking: The parking lots are hard to find but not too hard it can be easy every now and then Kid-friendliness: The waiters were kind to the kids the owner is friendly overall the kids love this place
Incredible value. Good food.
great food with reasonable prices fast service great atmosphere will return again soon Food
Really good food, and amazing prices.
It is a classic place with greet food and great prices. This place is just as good as I remember with the pizza being a great price for the portions you get and just how fresh it is. Parking: It is a tough place to park, not many spaces but the parking is free.
The lasagna is amazing!!!
I feel at home in this place. Their pasta give me the feeling of a mother homemade pasta. The service and atmosphere are so friendly.
My family has been going to Mamma Martino s for more than 20 years and it s always been one of our favourites. A fantastic family business with delicious food, fair prices, and wonderful service. One of the best in south Etobicoke for sure!
I don t understand the hype for this place and with all the people waiting to be seated. The food is plain with no flavor at all. Carbonara as well as Ravioli were tasteless even though we added Parmesan and salt. Didn t help. The dinner costed $80 for two people and we are definitely not coming back. I d recommend saving money and going anywhere else.
I have been going to Mamas for 40 years. The food, atmosphere and service are unbeatable. The prices are beyond reasonable for the amount and quality of food served. It has been our family go to for every special (and non special) occasion. It has always been consistent over the years. I know I will get a fabulous meal there!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Pizza and pasta cooked to perfection. Friendly service.
Oh my God most amazing experience ever everybody that worked there is amazing theres no way to actually thank them... The food is indescribable I was sent back to my childhood and I recommend everybody go that atmosphere so amazing you get lost in time you get lost with your crowd two thumbs up 10 out of 10 5 stars Golden Globes Oscars make sure and headed up for yourself so you can see what I mean
Great service and true Italian food. I must try for anyone in love with pasta.
Used to be a cheap place to go out with the family but they have increased their prices quite a bit recently. The food is pretty standard / below average at times. Service is usually pretty good unless they are very busy. Unfortunately due to the price increase I probably wont frequent as often.
Its the MOST authentic Italian food there is.
Delicious food good food good place great price
Good prices and a cozy restaurant, love their chicken Parmesan.
Had a great experience with the Eggplant Parmesan! Very fresh & tasty. Also had a great server Caroline. Will be back!
2024 - Mamma Martinos continues to shine as a standout Italian restaurant in the GTA, not just for its delectable food and inviting atmosphere, but also for its commitment to fair pricing. Unlike many other establishments, Mamma Martinos has maintained stable prices, a welcome rarity in todays market. This consistency in affordability, paired with their excellent culinary offerings and warm ambiance, solidifies its status as a cherished locale. Whether its for the food, the atmosphere, or their principled approach, Mamma Martinos remains a special spot for countless diners. 2018 - Best Italian restaurant of the GTA! Family owed and operated. Best Italian food I had in Toronto, I go there at least twice a month for their pizza and house salad. There is always a line up on the weekend so plan accordingly.
Really enjoy here with my family. :)
Theres no better family style Italian restaurant in the city. Chicken parm with spaghetti is the best thing in the menu.
Nice place
Momma Martinos is a gem! The service is outstanding, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The food is simply delicious, with the Eggplant Parmigiano being the best Ive ever had perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The Chefs salad and its dressing are local treasures, a must-try for anyone visiting. Five stars all around for this fantastic dining experience! ---
This is a good place for a nice meal... the best part though is that you an have ice cream for dessert next door!
Me and my husband love this place, it s always busy but service is always fast too! Very cheap comparing to other Italian restaurants and food is really good!
I have been here a few times, since I live in the area. I called in advanced to see if I would need a reservation, and was told no. However when I arrived there was a long line to wait for a table. We waited for about 15-20 mins. It was a Saturday dinner rush. I tried the seafood linguini, it was not the most flavourful. I had to add a lot of cheese, and pepper because it was unspiced. I really enjoyed the dessert though, the tiramisu and the pistachio cake were really nice! I also liked the garlic bread. The overall atmosphere is very casual. The tables and menus were a little sticky but I dont know of another restaurant that keeps its prices this low! The first time I came here I tried the pizza, and it was actually really good, and a huge portion. So would recommend that if you re thinking of coming.
For those who want to save, Good and cheap food, get there early because its always busy.
This has to be one of the best little Italian gems left in the Greater Toronto Area. Ive been here three times and it has hands down become my favorite Italian place to eat! The service and atmosphere are great, you really get a sense of home during your stay and everyone here treats you like family. The food is nothing short of down home Italian comfort and the portions are plentiful for the price point and the majority of items are homemade. That being said, admittedly some are better than others, however, that may just come down to personal preference. The Lasagna has easily become my go-to choice for dinner here! If youre in the Etobicoke area do not pass this one up. Theres a reason the place is absolutely packed every weekend!
A place to have good food with good friends! Highly recommend!
Absolutely Fabulous!!! Excellent service and Best food in town !!
The food is average but the service very slow.
Whenever were in the city this is our favourite place to go.
Just excellent love it!
Absolutely amazing place with great service, fantastic atmosphere and delicious pasta, we love it
Great Pizza and Pasta and value for the money. Servers are wonderful as well
A fixture in the neighbourhood. We really enjoy coming here, the f/t staff remember us and everyone else is great. Ive never left Mama Martinos hungry, and the prices are amazing.
The best Italian food Ive had by far, excellent food, fast friendly service, nice ambiance and great prices. They dont take reservation, so you can expect a line. But it moves surprisingly fast and was well worth the 15-20 min wait.
Group of 4 of us went on Tuesday April 16th and 3 out of the 4 of us got food poisoning. 3 out of the 4 had tomato based dishes and the fourth didn t. 3 of us got violently sick which was very disappointing as we have been there before and never an issue. Sad to say but we will not be going back especially how the manager dealt with the issue after calling to express our concerns.
Is just lovely
The waitresses expected a bigger tip, and I saw the expression on their faces when we paid separate bills, it is not my responsibility to pay their salaries, the Owner has to pay enough so that they do not bother the diners with bad expressions. I will not return and my friends will never.
I was there with some friend and ordered some foods, in my case I ordered pizza but it was underwhelming and raw, the Ceasar salad was the most disappointing, you can make it better at home without any effort, the service was great but the food nope.
SUPERB VALUE, great food and staff
Tomato water and dough! I m not sure what has changed, but it could be the people in the kitchen cooking the food. The tomato sauce is extremely watery, and the homemade pasta is overcooked and feels your consuming a ball of dough. All entrees that contain tomato sauce also comes with a pool of tomato water as well. I have been to the restaurant in the past, and the food was NOT like this. The passion for casual Italian cuisine has left the building. Very sad to say the least.
Hadnt been here in over 5 years but meetings in the city ended early so found street parking and grabbed a table for just myself. Food and atmosphere are still great and everything I remembered it to be. Had the Rigatoni & Meatballs, and a Large Pep & Mush pizza. All in with tax and tip was $50 and had pizza to bring home. Loved it, the food was obviously fresh and already cannot wait to get back in there soon.
Highly recommend that you try this place for your next dining experience. Great Italian cuisine, attentive staff team, and reasonably priced! They can comfortably seat a table for 8 people maximum. We were 11 adults and 2 small but cute kiddos and felt a little crammed together. Also, great for a date night! In my humble opinion, they could use a little face-lift but not a deal breaker. I will definitely come back and try another item on their menu. Vegetarian options: I myself had the cheese and spinach canalloni. It was delicious. I do recall seeing other vegetarian foods. Its worth it to Google the menu to decide for yourself, please. Parking: It was dark. I wasnt driving. So, unfortunately, Im not able to help much. My driver found a free spot close to the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: They have wooden highchairs. The menu has several favs that children generally like. Examples like pizza and spaghetti.
Best and cheapest Italian restaurant in Toronto.
Its a super cool restaurant with excellent service, amazing food, and an inviting atmosphere. It was a treat to come and eat. I had the Chicken Parmigiano. It was actual chicken breast, homemade delicious sauce, and the spaghetti was freshly made. I think this is probably the closest Ive had to an authentic Italian experience, barring visiting some Italian friends. BRAVA!!!
