2140 Kipling Ave, Etobicoke, ON M9W 4K5, Canada
I've been hesitant to write this review because this was one of my go to Caribbean restaurant for authentic Jamaican meals. The quality of service and the taste of the food have noticeably declined. Opening on Sundays is not the best choice if the chef is inconsistent.
I can’t believe the pieces of oxtail they give you, something I would give to my dog, literally all tiny bones with little to no meat on it. This is why Jamaican restaurants don’t succeed, always ripping people off, no class. Jerk chicken had sooooo much pepper it was not tasteful. Big waste of money
This restaurant used to be good. Ordered the oxtail/jerk chicken. Oxtail was mostly bones. Jerk chicken was dry and got 3 small cut up pieces. Not worth the $$!!
First time trying this place food . Wow ..very flavorful..ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas .. one of the best I have ever had in city.. My colleague love they chicken curry and other items ordered.. Shop was clean and quite busy
Again Google maps has not let me down When I walked in and seen the fried dumplings I knew I had the rite plac i had the stew chicken it was good similar to what I had before but they're house hot pepper sauce is what turned it up for me chicken is fall off the the bone Only knock I have is where the music 2 take them Caribbean vibes up a notch. Oh also there is no tip option on debit ill have to remember to bring cash when I return
My usual spot was closed so headed down here for supper. Was going to get fried chicken rice and peas but was told it would take 15 minutes so ordered jerk chicken rice and peas. Took about 10 minutes to get the order done so maybe should have ordered what I was looking for. I wasn’t sure about the veggies, it was majority cabbage and celery with carrots and tomorrows. The chicken was cooked really well, it was juicy. The taste was a little much for me. Was a little salty and had a strong taste of soy sauce. Rice was cooked but not as flavourful as my go to. Will try another time for the fried chicken with the rice and peas. The other downside was my order was prepared the same time as someone who came after me, their meals and mine came out the same time.
I went in and ordered to go. I had the oxtail it was good. The server was good. No complaints. I'll go back and try a different dish.
Since they took over for Willey's its been a while since i went. I have been 3 times in the month and all i can say is wow. The jerk pork is my go too and every time i order it, it's amazing. Tender, great spice and good portions for the cost.
Pulled in here because google said they were open and had open sign on. Found out they are closed.
Save your money and go somewhere else. Oxtail is mostly bones.
Extremely poor service and the staff talking is very dry and poor feels like they wanna fight with you
Place an order on line for over $100, went to pick up order they had no way to find the payment. No effort was made in helping. Totally ignored me and serving other people.
Honestly this place the food is amazing that s the only thing I ll give a 5 star the lady at the front in the mornings she s always has a salty face like she s mad at everyone she doesn t have a joyful vibe she doesn t smile or anything
They keep it consistent. I did go there one time and the one thing I bought was not good. Every restaurant gets a one-off day from me. It has been good ever since.
Truly Authentic, and they are open on a Sunday! Dont miss out, you will not like yourself.
Food is amazing employees are nice and welcoming I would 10 out of ten recommend to others
Absolutely disgusting
Ordering online & the pricing makes no sense. It s one price until you click it and it forces you to choose larger for everything. Something so simple and avoidable for a professional business. Make it make sense. Greed will never prosper.
Dont bother looking on the website menu for pricing. Food prices are doubled if not more when you go in the restaurant. Jerk chicken is good, however the pieces are tiny, Prices for everything is really expensive. And there is no Coleslaw served with Mayo.
Worst place to eat jerk chicken in GtA Wastage of time and money Food
Tucked away off Kipling in Etobicoke, Caribbean Cuisine is the spot where the real taste of Jamaica hits the streets of Toronto. This place? It s not just a restaurant; it s a vibe, an experience, where every bite feels like a trip to the islands. Running the show is Jeanette, the queen of the kitchen and the heart of the joint. She s got this cool, welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel like family. Her presence is like a stamp of authenticity, guaranteeing you re about to dive into something legit. Now, lets talk about the main event: the large brown stew snapper. This dish is fire. Imagine the freshest snapper youve ever had, slow-cooked to perfection in a stew that s got just the right kick of spice, sweetness, and tang. Its the kind of meal that makes you pause after the first bite, close your eyes, and just vibe with the flavors dancing around your palate. Service here? On point. The crew moves like a well-oiled machine, with genuine smiles and an urban coolness that adds to the whole experience. They re quick, they know their stuff, and they make sure your glass is never empty and your plate s always full of goodness. Jeanette and her team have created more than just a place to eat. They ve built a spot in Etobicoke where the beats of Jamaica pulse through the flavors, the music, and the atmosphere. It s where you go when you want more than just food you re after an experience, a taste of the Caribbean soul right in Toronto. So, if you re looking for that authentic Jamaican kick, Caribbean Cuisine off Kipling is where it s at. It s not just a meal; it s an urban journey to Jamaica, no passport required
The lever was so delicious good customer servise
Ordered $20 large oxtail and got a small oxtail with large rice. The girl at the front was pleasant but I will not be back.
This review is for the Kipling store. I usually drop by for breakfast and occasional lunch and 3-4 times a week for dinner. Pro- I can say that the the food is good, fresh and great value. Pro-The place is aways clean . Cons - The customer service is trash!!! . The front cashiers never smile and has attitude most of the time. Very unpleasant . Cons - The workers seem to be afraid of engaging with the guest. One word answers and no follow through . No acknowledgment when someone walks in. Cons . Seems like people are not happy working there. Ive seen the owner a few times and I can honestly see why. She seems like shes running a slave ship. Ive heard how she takes advantage of the hard working women . Paying then lower than minimum wage. Forcing them to take money to take their own money to cover the restaurant expenses. Talks to them like they are children . I Personally saw her lash out at the cook . It was so unprofessional. You can see the despair in the eyes of the staff. Shes not a good leader.Perhaps these people are undocumented and that why they try to stay there. As a female who owns a service buisness with multiple staff , one thing I know is that if you want people to give proper service, you must create the right environment and show appreciation to the hard working staff. I try to support our black community buisnesses whenever possible. I love our carribean flavored foods . But inorder to survive in such a competitive buisness, we must learn to give proper service. I was a longtime customer of The Sunrise brand, and I knew the owner personally. I said this to him it all the time ,Service is half of your product Unfortunately the Sunrise brand has fallen . I would hate to see another brand fall. Ill be back though hopefully, it get better!! :)
Oxtail was amazing thank you for the recommendation!
This is the BEST FOOD!! Anisia is pleasant and professional, always an amazing experience. Brown stew fish is A1, also Curry Chicken roti and Oxtail is a must!
Ya My

Ackee and salt fish was delicious
Put up with this place because its close to my shop.. ill drive down the road from now on
Cooks good food and respectful.
My favourite Jamaican restaurant in the city, every time I order the food is always 10/10. My favourites are the curry goat and oxtail!!! When I m craving Jamaican food this restaurant is my ONLY go to!!!
Too much waiting
Medium Butter Beans with Provisions is by far the best meat less meal Ive had in awhile! BIG UP YOURSELF CHEFY!!! Parking: Parking available close to the restaurant
If your a chicken brest person go check them out, not sure its that a regular thing but it was nice for the switch up.
Should have an option for less spicy food for people that can t handle the spice to this level that still want to enjoy the food.
I ordered there fish for the second time for birthday celebration and my guest and I enjoyed it very much I would recommend there food staff are very friendly and accommodating
Delicious Jamaican Patties, Jerk Chicken and Pork
I must say the food is absolutely amazing, real authentic Jamaican dishes... wow
Food was very tasty. The price was reasonable. The restaurant was clean. Very good customer service. Hey I can t complain. Keep up the good work keep on representing.
I always love their oxtail with rice n peas! I previously worked in the area and would eat here at least once a week or every other week with co-workers. I have been craving their oxtail with rice n peas for the past month and finally had the opportunity since I was passing by the area. After missing their food for 5 years, it still taste just as good as before! If you re looking for authentic Jamaican food, you got to try it!
Good food but never gave me a knife for my food.
People working here has no manners and zero customer service skills.
First time trying this restaurant and wasnt disappointed. Friendly service and great portion size. I cant wait to try more of their menu .
This is how a large oxtail should look and taste like. Not sweet with carrot gravy. Gravy is butterbean based.
Best Jamaican jerk chicken in town, must try! Food is exploding with flavour. Service was quick and professional and very friendly. If you haven t tried Caribbean cuisine yet it s time.. your taste buds will thank me later
Thursday September 1 2022 @ 9.30 pm. I was too lazy to drive to the my usual restaurant Da house of jerk. Decide to pick food jerk chicken and rice and peas from here. The rice and peas had no flavor. No coconut milk, no spices on top of that the rice was soft. The chicken had too much soy sauce. I had to send to to the garage. Waste my money. See what laziness cause! Never again!
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The ackee and salt fish was cooked down perfectly and the ground provision was.. heaven. Will definitely be ordering from here again!
The food is pretty good. Also my Jamaican coworker confirmed that this is indeed Authentic lol
Most of the chicken I was given was just bones
The ackee and saltfish I had a few weeks, ago was absolutely delicious! I ordered a large, and at first glace, I thought it was too much food for me to eat, but before I knew it, I ate the entire container BY MYSELF, and was wishing I had more haha. I will definitely be purchasing again in the future!
Both a cup of soup which was red peas. There is bones instead meat, and the soup tasted funny like it was spoiled
Really good food! Went here for the 1st time; I wasn t sure what to expect because some restaurants can be a hit or miss. I m definitely putting this on my comeback list
Had jerk chicken one of the best.very Good quality and good quantity. Cannot wait to try oxtail. Next time. Keep up the .good work guys..!!!!
Just picked up 2 Jerk Chicken dinners and a curry goat Roti .damn! SO GOOD !!! Highly recommend this place .our new favourite go to place!!! Thanks Caribbean Cuisine !!!
I cant even truly rate the food the way the service is so slow...by the time your served...hunger is gone.
Ordered curry chicken to get all bones nonflavour just bad
cuz im an island boy and im just tryin to make ittt , cuz im an ISLAND BOY!!!!
Very Good Home Cook Meals Authentic
First time having curry goat it was delicious. The service was excellent. Thank you
Excellent Service with real authentic Jamaican food!. The food is consistent with flavors... delicious!!!
Absolutely delicious with smiling service . highly reccommend
Food is great.the best jerk chicken I ve had in the GTA. Three stars because food portions are small for what you pay and the service is a bit slow.
Don t bother calling in your order. They pretend to take it then you ll have to line up for 20 minutes behind only 2 people, while the cashier make small talk, then they ll punch your order in. your order will come out wrong btw.
If you want dry chicken and no sauce; this is your spot. Make sure you know what you want cause theres no menu. Also dont expect your portion to fill you up so get a size up to be safe. Theres cheaper and better spots in the area.
Too sweet! Willys Jerk was better
I had oxtail from the location. hands down the best oxtail in Toronto.. Keep up the good meals!! Prices are reasonable and good portion. thank you
Best Jamaican breakfast in the GTA. FOOD NICE. Taste like who ever cook it love you!
Been here about 10 times. Have gotten the jerk pork with rice and peas every time. The portion is good for the price and the taste is really good. It has a nice kick but isn t too spicy. There was only once that I felt there was a lot of fat instead of meat, but I brought it back and replaced with a new one. This is why I will still give them 5 stars.
Bomb place to eat. Only place I eat Caribbean food in the Rex. Have to ask for extra sauce on the rice tho jerk is good stu beef is great .
DO NOT EAT HERE! HEALTH HAZARD. So I bought a chicken roti and the shell was hard but I was hungry AF so kept kn eating. When I was almost done the freaking chicken had a HAIR in it. I brought it back to the counter and the girl was NOT apologetic!!! She said I dont know where that came from. Meanwhile I want to bloody puke. She was difficult for a freaking refund. If I had the energy to sue. PS ZERO STARS
great food
Great food
Great food. Needs a debit machine tho. Who has cash these days?
Overpriced and rude staff. Taking my business elsewhere as theres alot of other Jamaican restaurants in the area that value their customers, serve fresh food , generous portions and are under $12 for a large.
Willys jerk on Kipling and rexdale is the best Willis jerk restaurants in Toronto. The food tastes good and has flavor. The chef take the time to make the effort to put into his foods mated flavor taste. Customer service in the front could be a little bit more friendly but its okay, no complain but the food is fantastic the chef that they have at that restaurant and hes a damn good cook.. Big up to this chef who is cooking at Willys jerk on Kipling (not Wilson and) people do not go will is at Wilson and Jane. thats the nastiest disgusting is Willys jerk its disgusting dont go there
Trash
They have some good food but it is expensive
The food is excellent. The serving proportions are adequate to the size ordered and I will recommend anyone to try Willys Jerk, satisfaction guaranteed...
The soup is always good
The quality of food is mediocre.
They lucky I can t giv less than 1 star. Need good cashier. Cashier took 20 mins to take guy s order that was in front of me n then had the nerve to say lunch special was done on me ( time was 1:01 pm). Never again !
Great food
Ive visited this location twice. Both times Ive been told they were closed (when I walked in through the open door at 4pm, with the open sign on). This time? There were 3 people inside eating. All 3 of them were dark skinned. Me? White. Ridiculous. Never again. Discriminatory and should be shut down.
The lady at the front was very nice and they served me just enough to fill me up.
It was ok. But too pricey
I dined here for the first time today. The portion was quite small but it tasted good. Then I got to the bottom of the dish and in one corner of my rice was a thick creamy white patch of something. I don t even want to know what it was. It was so disgusting! It turned my stomach instantly. I will never go back there.
the only jerk spot where they DO NOT give you gravy on your rice.. so i gotta eat this dry rice with this dry jerk pork.. also. 1lb jerk pork came with 1/4lb of bone... ill go wendys instead from now on.
Super hate it
Great food!
Foods meh. Portions for the prices are terrible. Only saving grace was a decent beef patty.
Over priced for sure ... Cant believe a single bottle of Kirkland water (available at Costco for a case of 40 for $3.99) is for $1.50... the jerk chicken was burnt... Just a bad experience and rediculously overpriced food. Not going bad
Reasonably priced tasty jerk chicken.
Food not bad .... portions are small for what you pay for WORRRRRRRSSSSTTTTTT customer service skills . I dont know where they get their servers from but theyre beyond stupid . Cant support black businesses NEVER AGAIN
Amazing food and quick service!
Got the oxtail. Really delicious but a small portion size but I imagine it has to do with market cost here. Next time going to try the chicken
Worst chicken roti I have had in the entire GTA, go to island foods or the roti place down the street on Albion.
Small portion sizes 14 dolllars for oxtail but I mainly paid for rice
I bought their jerk chicken , jerk chicken is suppose to be cooked in a drum not the oven . And I also ordered a rice and peas . There was 3 peas in the rice . I wasted my money.please stop cooking jamacian food especially if you dont know how . The food hurt my stomach. I will never eat at any willys jerk again .. the portions of chicken they gave me for 12.00 was in it self a crime . Real jac Iams stay away you will be disappointed for sure . My mother-in-law can cool better jerk chicken and rice ..I wanted to give them 1/4 of a star rating .
The best. Good food compared to other Jamaican restaurants out there.
one advise I have for you all never buy food at this restaurant. they changes chef every week and their food is disgusting, burnt rice. I bought homney corn porridge, first of all as soon as I opened it it spilled all over my jacket and the shift gear of my car and they had all milk water and about couple grains of corn. this location gives willys Jerkhut a bad reputation.
Been going to this place for years, love it! Just got my boyfriend hooked on it and my brother and some friends like the place too. Always usually get the jerk chicken and its very good. The portion size could be a bit bigger but its fair. Had the goat curry twice and its also pretty good.
