Hamdi Restaurant in Etobicoke

Went here with my BFF. I’m always on the lookout for places that have food that my very difficult stomach can handle - seasoned food but with seasonings that don’t make sick! This restaurant is nice, but nothing fancy. It has a nice vibe to it and it’s quiet. It’s very clean and the staff seems to be tidying up regularly. You have to go to the counter to order and pay but if u ask for menus, they will give u them to review at ur table before going up to order. We got the sirloin dinner and Atlantic salmon dinner! It comes with lentil soup, ur choice of rice, spaghetti or chapatti and a small salad. A robot brings you your food and you just take it off their trays. But someone came to help us unload our plates out of courtesy. Let me tell u, it was all really delicious! The Atlantic salmon has a sauce rubbed on it similar to bbq sauce. It flaked so perfectly. The rice was flavourful with very little seasoning. It tasted like it was made in broth. Lentil soup was a good yummy appetizer, and the salad/dressing was also quite nice! My friend’s steak was cooked well although she felt like she needed a bit of hot sauce (which they quickly brought over). The staff was super friendly. They came over to make sure the sun coming in the windows wasn’t bothering us, helped us unload the robots, and asked if there was anything we needed. They did not bother us, but just left us after offering whatever they thought we would enjoy. I appreciated their help and care! Overall, it was a good experience and I will be back with my husband next time! Edit: I brought the family here. I called to make a reservation, and even called 10 minutes before to say that we were on our way. But when we got there, they didn't have record of our reservation. They had to move a couple and prepare our spot. We were lucky to not have brought my mil who cannot stand well because waiting would have caused an issue for her. I was glad they rectified the situation, but I expected that a reservation would hold our spot. The food was very good and even our picky eaters enjoyed. I would say that if you are coming here on a weekend, expect to be waiting for a spot.

It's nice place I really enjoyed

If you go to this restaurant, watch out for not to feed you leftover rice and rotten chicken. On September 7, 2023, they served us very bad rice and meat. It wasn’t worth paying a penny. You would rather eat your own leftovers at your home.

Been a customer for over 15 years. One pf our fsvourite spots. Always delicious. Always fresh. Quality of the mango juice has changed over the years as it's no longer as thick as it used to be, feels more watered down but it's still good. My fsvourite dish remains the goat, which I must get every time and the chicken suqaar is also another one of my favourites.

They kicked us out the restaurant half way through our meal. They brought the food to our table in take out boxes, no one said there is no dine in and there were no signs saying that either. I usually dine in so me and my brother started to eat our food.10-15 minutes later a man came shouting at us " I told you not to eat here!" And then he said to stop eating and pack the rest our food and leave. No one told us we could not eat in the restaurant until half way through our food, I eat here often with my brother but now I will never be coming back. Very disrespectful and rude. Me and my brother eat here regularly but after today's experience, I definitely would not recommend. No respect for even loyal customers.

Your price is high and your service is normal but some times your waiters are not doing their job.

Highly recommend for their lamb/goat and beef stew with rice, very tasty and packed with flavours. Got complimentary soup as well, their mango drink was also refreshing and freshly made.
