Japanese restaurant that serves ramen and sushi
Do yourself a favour and get the creamy veg ramen! It is delicious and worth crossing the city for!! The broth is vegetarian and Smokey- drool worthy! I can’t speak to the sushi as our whole group got ramen and enjoyed it! We were a group of 8 and were seated right away. In and out within an hour. Staff is friendly and the chef brought out pickled diakon for us to try. I’ll be back!
Ikoi is a gem for ramen lovers! Their ramen is simply incredible, with the best noodles you’ll find in Toronto. The restaurant has an authentic, cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. If you’re craving top-quality ramen in a warm, inviting setting, Ikoi is the place to go!
Stopped in for a quick lunch and I have to say that the service, atmosphere and vibe in here was fantastic. They were very attentive and served me promptly. I had the sashimi donburi which was very good. The fish was fantastic but maybe a bit too much lettuce with the fish. It was overall an amazing meal and experience for lunch. The only negative I have is that $30 for lunch is a bit expensive so definitely not a daily stop but I will be back again for some ramen next time. Can’t wait to stop in again!
I loved I loved the restaurant! The staff was so kind, and the food was super fresh and amazing! I’ve found my go-to place for Japanese food!!!
Came during lunch after seeing recommendations on reddit and craving some ramen. Had the tonkatsu with extra noodles and chasu, and spicy. It was delicious. Probably the best ramen I've had outside of Japan (granted, I don't eat ramen often but this was really good!) They also gave me a spicy salmon roll on the house which was really nice and tasty. Definitely recommend.
Update - I took my family back for lunch the next day, still as good as the day before :) Shashimi was so fresh and the salmon tune poke bowl was delicious! Really good ramen with generous portion, better than other ramen places in the neighborhood! I’ll definitely come back for more!
Family gem in Etobicoke. Fresh products, nice flavors, well done deep fried. Prices are standard, and the service is really kind. We ordered 2 Tonkotsu Ramen (amazing), 1 Sashimi Domburi and 1 Chicken Katsu Teishoku. The last two came with miso soup and salad. Highly recommended if you’re in the area, want to try something good and don’t want to be disappointed. Pretty safe and really good option over there.
Love this place. Their food portions are huge. Authentic flavours. Have been here few times and it's been great so far! Have tried their salmon dragon sushi roll and love it. I still have to try their other foods, so will update accordingly. But it's a great lil spot, you won't be disappointed!
Ikkoi is the best! My family and I come here regularly because it has the best sushi and ramen around central Etobicoke. The sushi chef is the owner and very sweet, always smiling and happy to see us, he even recommends some of the new dishes he adds to the menu- always delicious. Servers are great and the food is amazing, always fresh, tasty and consistent. Try the spanish roll- its my favourite.
Amazing food chef came separately to our table with additional pickled radish to have with my ramen Food was delicious, fresh and so tasty Food
Very nice experience
Super cute and homely shop. Great selection between ramen and sushi, the head chef came out to greet us and complimented on my double spicy soup level. Gifted us sample spicy Salmon to try, which was delicious. 10/10 experience.
Great sushi, amazing ramen. I love coming here, the prices are very reasonable for the portions and the quality. Must try.
We had such a lovely lunch here! Food was comforting, came out quick, and the service was attentive and kind. Chef even came over to check on us and made sure we used the (delicious) pickled radish properly. He also sent some sushi on the house! Will definitely be back.
This is a cozy and clean Japanese restaurant. Fresh sashimi, ramen with rich broth are delicious, and the owner Its a place I want to visit often because its very friendly and the service is good. Highly recommended.
Delicious ramen and extremely friendly staff and chef!
Delicious noodles and broth such a good comfort food
We are from montreal, visiting toronto. We found this incredible gem of a family owened restaurant. Incredible service. One of the tastiest sushi we ever ate. The service is impeccable. The food is extreamly fresh. On a adoré. On recommende beaucoup. En plus il y a du stationnement. Would fly back to toronto to eat here.!
One of the better Japanese restaurants in the west end. Always fresh tempura. Good service
Simply one of the best value Japanese in GTA, every bite is delicious and you savour it. I live in Hawaii half the year and their raw fish is just as good.
Absolutely love this family restaurant. The atmosphere and decor is so beautiful. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Will continue to go here for ramen and sushi.
I keep going back to this restaurant, it s a gem. Always great food and service.
Fresh fish and delicious! Really enjoyed my bento dinner of sushi and sashimi. Highly recommend this restaurant! Generous sashimi slices. I ll be back for sure. Nice surroundings, very clean warm and friendly!
Great food, great service
Dynamite roll was easily the best Ive ever had! Ramen was good too!
SUCH GOOD RAMEN AND KARAGE CHICKEN!! Extremely friendly staff, not too crowded or loud. Reasonable pricing too.
5 stars all around. Food, service and atmosphere. This restaurant checks off all the boxes.
Great Ramen place! The nagasake ramen was really good and it came with nice vegetables. The broth was creamy and flavourful with good quality seafood. The Netsu Ramen was good , if you like spicy go for spice level 3- I chose 2 and it was barely spicy. The chicken karage was below average! It was plain and a small portion of source!
Had the Sapporo miso ramen. The broth was really good - I can taste the miso and its not overpowering. The noodles were good and chewy. I just didnt like the red onion and bok choy in the broth, which didnt seem very Japanese to me. I am okay with the corn, carrots but the red onions taste is contrasting to the miso based broth. Other than that, service was great nice ambience..
Since discovering it back in May 2024, it became my go to restaurant for atleast 2x a month!
Calm and tranquil spot, good food.
Great place to eat, amazing atmosphere, great portion sizes.
Been coming here on/off since they opened a fees years back. It s consistently decent but last visit last night the quality and service was stepped up! And on a Friday evening too! SUPER FRESH sushi and light, crispy pan fried gyoza definitely one of the better sushi spots in Etobicoke!
Ordered netsu Ramen and it was not great at all!
It became my favorite ramen place, delicious and the service 10/10
Adorable place with absolutely delicious food!!! Highly recommend!!
They are so nice and they re making sure that you re doing good time to time and about the food, delicious!!
Went here for dinner a few months ago. The sushi and sashimi were very fresh and delicious (we ordered the salmon lovers). The staff was friendly and attentive.
Great small restaurant that was not busy for the long weekend. Very nice atmosphere and great staff. Amazing food and big portions. Will return again!
The food is spectacular, amazing staff, and a wonderful ambiance with soft music playing. I highly recommend dining here!
Very good I recommend this restaurant Food
It looks like a small, cozy place to relax.
We liked this place very much until this happened. I wish I had given 5 start review for food. Found a mosquito in our ramen but staff was not very supportive of this and said nothing. Charged the full amount. Anyway we left without eating and paid the full bill.
I absolutely love this place!! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. My son loves their sushi, and the Sapparo Miso Ramen is to die for. Highly recommend.
Very atmospheric please. Personal are very friendly. Food was very delicious.
Ive been going around and trying various Ramen places in the GTA, and I finally made my way to Ikkoi Japanese Family Cuisine. The interior is lovely, I enjoyed the little sushi board and the chopsticks on the wall. The wooden interior is comfy and inviting. I got the Tonkotsu ramen, and it was delicious. I broth and chasu are rich and savoury. Noodles are thin and plentiful. I would highly recommend the Tonkotsu if you are struggling to decide on what to order. Ill definitely be back. Thank you for the lovely meal. Parking: Small free parking lot right in front of the store.
This place is one of the few authentic Japanese family restaurants in Toronto where you can enjoy both Japanese-style ramen and sushi. The amazing thing is that the new owner is an experienced traditional Japanese sushi chef. Moreover, when it comes to ramen, this place is special because it directly contracts and receives special ramen sauces from Japan to prepare the dishes.
Family oriented food is serve fresh and delicious have been there many time hope it will continue to become popular
Ramen & sushi are amazing! Huge persons for a fair price. Would definitely recommend and I ll be back many more times!
Best ramen Ive ever had
This is one our go-to whenever we crave Japanese food, especially soft shell crab and Ramen. They also have free parking out front which is convenient.
Very enjoyable setting, quite intimate. The food was very enjoyable and delicious. The portion sizes are plentiful. Staff are very friendly and so helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The staff was very nice and the atmosphere is very comforting. I wish there were more chashu in the ramen and the egg served separately. Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Parking: The parking lot was small so I had to park across the street in another plaza
A nice cozy place. A good ambience giving the vibe of Japan! . Their food is also exemplary and tastes too good. I loved their gyoza soup, shoyu ramen and gyoza. Update on 19th June 2024. The place still holds up to the expectation. Tried the sapporro miso ramen, karage and gyoza. Very warm hospitality too. Will visit again.
Came for a late night meal, appreciate that they stay open later and still so attentive. Ordered edemame which were good needed salt, miso soup which was good, two rolls that were enjoyed, and tonkotsu ramen which I wish had a little more depth of flavor in the broth I had to add a little sirracha, lemon, and soy sauce. I also wish it had more pork slices because they were cut so thin or honestly if they had pork belly instead. Also limited drink menu. I would recommend for sushi. Parking: Parked in front of establishment
Their King Ramen is probably my favorite ramen in Toronto
If I can give a place 10 star , this would be the only place . I go here with my work friend a lot during our break and its my favourite Japanese restaurant. The food is amazing , the atmosphere feels very authentic and the service there is just so welcoming. Would definitely recommend to other people to check the place out.
Best Ramen in the GTA, our absolute favorite spot for Ramen and sushi. The soul is delicious extremely warm and so so good!! We have to travel a bit to get there but it s so worth it. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options for my daughter and any other vegetarians. Dietary restrictions: Plenty of dietary restrictions available for people Parking: There are a few spots in the plaza available for the restaurant as well as many free spots in the neighboring plaza s
Friendly staff, fast service, outstanding food & portions sizes Will be back! Thanks again Food : 5/5
By far the best ramen Ive had. The noodles were perfect and the broth was so tasty. The pork was juicy and seasoned. Everything about the Tonkotsu Ramen was wonderful. Im sad that this place is a distance from where I live or else Id be visiting here more often. I highly recommend them, definitely a must try.
Foods Delicious and Excellence service
This restaurant is small in size and big in attention to the details. While the plaza is not fancy, the first thing I noticed when I got here was how clean everything was. The second was how kind and attentive our waitress was. Both times that I have been here I have gotten the ramen and some apps. Everything is beautifully cooked. I am not sure if it is run by a family, but everywhere you look, you can see that theres a touch behind of someone that really, really cares. Its also very reasonably priced and the atmosphere quite cozy.
The food was amazing. Staff was friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who like Japanese food.
Absolutely great family Japanese restaurant. Really authentic and all the dishes I ve tried are amazing. Really love coming back! Reminds me of my trips to Japan. Thank you for the great service
Excellent food and service
Gyoza, sashimi, ramen, bento boxes. We tried it all and full marks from everybody. Staff and owner very friendly too. Cant wait to go back.
Simply amazing food and amazing people. Highly recommend.
This is our absolute go to place for Japanese food, we ve tried different sushi rolls, ramen, yakisoba and bento box. All the food is freshly made to order, hearty portion sizes and is absolutely delicious! There s much on the menu left to try but we love the food we ve already tried so much, we end up ordering the same! The ambience is also quite nice, this is one of the best local Japanese restaurants! Highly recommended if you re looking for Japanese food in Etobicoke!
This is our favorite restaurant. We have ordered and dined in here multiple times. The staff and chefs are very friendly and inviting. They have an amazing menu but our favorites are Ramen, Yakisoba, Sushi and Salmon Teriyaki.
The absolute best ramen spot in the city without a doubt. Traditional, fresh and homemade. My go to spot, brought a few friends who have turned it into their go to spot too!
Best Place to eat and enjoy Sushi and Very Professional and Friendly personal and Friendly!!! Great place to spend time with Friends and Family
Great service. Portions were very generous. We ordered a ramen and a few rolls which were quite unique. Food overall was good.
Small but nice place to eat out with family and friends. Food and service is great. Sometimes parking can be a challenge.
The chicken teriyaki was delicious, will be going back again.
Delicious Ramen! Soo good. Such a large portion size.
Had ramen. Really good.
The foods have similar taste with other ramen restaurants. When we came, there was no customer at all, which was nice. The atmosphere was nice with soft background musics. Excellent musics. It looks like the owner served us. We didnt see any other waitress there. Average price was about $16.00 We ordered Netsu Ramen and Orochong Ramen. Very generous chicken meat and noodles. Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Nothing Parking: Free parking Kid-friendliness: Not a kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessible
Awful experience, went there for dinner with our kids. There was a lineup for a table as it was a busy Valentines evening. The attitude of the waiter / possibly the owner was clearly annoyed by the customers. Kept delaying to clean our table, purposely keeping us waiting. Then eventually once he cleaned the table he announced to us that it was reseved. I wouldve appreciated the explanation right at the beginning. We could have gone somewhere else. The kids were hungry. The other people also were not treated differently by his ordering them not to sit at the table rudely. If you are annoyed by customers that come to your restaurant why to have one?
Love this place. Consistently fresh and delicious. Ive had it a dozen times at least and it never disappoints. Even take out is delicious and tempura keeps its crunch! Nice family business.
Great sushi, food, and service.
Welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Interior decorations add to the character of this restaurant. Service was good, and they took orders promptly. The food was good; portions were of large sizes. We had edamame, donburi, and ramen - everything was great.
Food was okay but this was the first time Ive come across a restaurant with a mandatory tip. No option or warning ahead of time that a 17% tip is mandatory.
Ramens are delicious - tasty soup, homemade noodles with good chewy texture and overall not too salty. The Bento boxes are also very good and reasonably priced Kid-friendliness: They have kid utensils. Also, bench sitting makes it easier for small kids to sit through a meal.
Sapporo ramen is delicious. Handmade noodles, thick slices of pork, broth that isn t too salty. My only complaint was the staff were kinda rushing us to finish by asking if they could take our bowls when we weren t done. It was getting close to closing time so I guess they wanted to wrap up for the night. Would ve been better if they gave us notice that they would be closing shortly and we would ve finished up in a more timely manner.
Fantastic sushi & ramen restaurant! We ate shushi and gyoza. The atmosphere and service were amazing cant wait to go back for freshly handmade ramen noodles.
Absolutely gorgeous dishes and delicious is an understatement. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: I need to eat gluten free and they made the choices very easy with many options available.
Excellent sushi restaurant! Well decorated, with impeccable service. We love how they always remember us and remember our orders
Done in regularly, great people, food and service. Family vibes
Terrible service, food took 45 minutes to arrive, and some of it arrived undercooked. Quality of food was passable but nothing to write home about. We are generally reasonable with tipping but we are just unhappy that there was forced tipping on their payment machine and no option to customize the tipping amount. The nail in the coffin was that it coupled with such poor service, otherwise we would not have even bat an eye.
Tl;dr: Avoid. Slow service, mandatory tipping. Came for a quick ramen and ended up waiting over 30mins after being seated. Mandatory tip, no option to change below minimum of 15%. Food was alright but you can find similar/better with far better service in the area.
Nice little hidden gem. Walked in and was promptly greeted with a smile. Our orders were taken quickly, efficiently and very politely. The servers were kind and welcoming. The ramen was great and the sushi was even better! Would definitely recommend.
Quaint little location with consistent quality and very fresh sushi. Their ramen noodles are made in house and are definitely worth a try. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant was very clean.
Had the ramen, it was a great portion for the price and tasted great. Restaurant was clean plenty of parking. The staff were great too.
Came here for lunch with work colleagues and the service, food quality, and atmosphere were amazing. We got seated right away and the food was very good! Lots of selection to choose from and we never felt rushed in any way. Would highly recommend this place!
Best Japanese restaurant in the city. I come here almost on a weekly basis and they never disappoint. From the variety of ramen to the maki rolls. Consistently the best.
I was suuuper hungry. Ramen was awesome. I ll come back to try sushi. Would be better to have more recommendations from service
I had a wonderful experience with this restaurant. If you are craving for ramen and sushi this is the place to go. The servers are all smiling and friendly, food tastes great with beautiful presentation. Its worth recommending and will definitely come back!
I mean, five stars says it all. Maybe a little pricey, but the ramen was amazing.
Authentic food! Wonderful service! Definitely recommend
Favourite place for sushi and ramen, yum. It is my regular place to go. service was once slow, but it was busy that day. Otherwise fantastic.
The atmosphere is quiet and the food tastes not light at all. This is it
Loved the decor, gives the place a solid character. Food was okay, ramens were tasty, the shrimp tempura left an aftertaste but the veggies are all good. Noodles were all handmade. Service was a little slow as there was only one person there when we went then the rest of the crew came to help her. Wouldnt mind coming back to try their sushi when were in the area.
We stopped Im for lunch today and had two different Ramen dishes, lunch special (rolls) and a spider roll. The food was excellently prepared and tasted great. The presentation of the rolls, including other diners orders was very well done with garnishes including miniature flower bouquets out of green onion and sweet potato chips. The Ramen portions were large, also flavorufull and presented beautifully. We left very full and will return. Parking: Free parking in front, public green P parking behind
Great tasting sushi and ramen restaurant. Quick and friendly service! Looking forward to trying more items from the menu next time. Thank you for a good first experience
Ikkoi is our fav Japanese restaurant in Toronto. Our family loves it. The food is top quality, authentic and delicious. The service is excellent. They really care about their customers. Thanks so much!
Authentic Japanese food with nice decor and atmosphere, and friendly staff. Their noodles are also handmade.
Nice quiet restaurant. Good food, good beer. Smiling waiter.
i have ordered the katsudon multiple times and it is so consistently awesome but today it was my first meal of the entire day after a long outing and it was so incredible and life changing and the best thing ive ever tasted it made my day thank you so much ikkoi you bring joy to my life
I never wanted to post this and I have never given negative review unless my experience is extremely bad. Edit: The old man, who seems to be the cashier/owner was extremely rude. Went to pay after eating ( more than $200 spent ), it was 9:45pm. The old man was not even looking and talking to me when I went to pay and was showing a sulky looking/angry expression. My family was not disrespectful at all while dining. If he was angry because we didn t leave at 9:30pm which was the closing time, they should not have taken us inside at 8:30!! We were group of 6, ordered 5 ramens, 2 sushi, 2 drinks. Left tip at the end. I am wondering what wrong did we do. Never coming back. That will be our last time coming back to this family owned restaurant. The server girls are nice. Feeling bad for them to be working under that DISRESPECTFUL owner.
What a great spot for a quick dinner. Service was great, space was cozy. Very family friendly as well! Food : 5/5
Good and hit the spot ramen and oyakudon !
I had King ramen. Food was good. Atmosphere was chilled with some soothing music. Staff was friendly. Nothing to complain.
First time coming here. The Ramen dishes were delicious!! The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is lovely with soothing music. I will definitely be coming back here again
Very good food! Place is clean and the service amazing. Thanks!
Great little Japanese Restaurant. Sashimi very good quality. Super accommodating for our family with a little one. Nice interior decorations, good vibes.
We ordered takeout meals (salmon teriyaki + tempura bento, and chirashi), and immensely enjoyed our meals! The portions were very filling, and very delicious.
This is now my go-to sushi place! Been here 2 weeks in a row. So happy to find this nearby as we don t have a lot of gems in Etobicoke. Food is always so fresh and delicious. Feel like they changed the interior decor for the better. Presentation is very Instagram friendly too! Need to come back to try out their ramens.
Loved my experience here! Food was fantastic, with lots of unique and creative dishes, and exciting flavours. Service was good and polite. The atmosphere is nice and makes for a fun dining experience. Prices are fair. Would certainly return here for Japanese fair!
Authentic Japanese experience. Chef comes around to check up on patrons. Food is fresh and delicious, servers are very welcoming. Recommend the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Maki Platter.
If possible, I would give Ikkoi 4.5. The takoyaki was a little too thick and dense, and the sushi was alright. However, the ramen was really good and outshone everything else. I would definitely come back to try the other ramen.
Went with a group of 4 and had an incredible experience! We each ordered a bowl of ramen, and shared the special maki party platter. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was incredible, and the owner was very friendly.
Very nice little place. The ramen may not compete with the best spots in Toronto but it is still very good and worth ordering. Service is fast and friendly and food arrives quickly.
The service was warm and friendly. We had the ramen noodle, sushi bento, and tempura appetizer. Amazing! Our evening became more special when the owner came by to ask about our food. He talked to us about his passion to make quality food. This was clearly evident in what we ate. Will go back and will recommend to friends!
Had such a great experience at Ikkoi! We ordered the tonkatsu ramen and a couple of sushi rolls. The ramen was exceptional and the sushi was better than any we ve had in Toronto. The tea they serve was so flavourful, we were told that it s a homemade blend of roasted rice/corn tea The interior of the restaurant is spot on and makes for such a nice cozy experience. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
Not my taste
I got the Grilled Salmon with Tempura Bento and Takoyaki. Food is amazing!
Got the Sapporo Ramen, really good, meat was nice and tender, overall good flavour. Also got the California Rolls, they where on point and for desert the black sesame ice-cream. Friendly staff, atmosphere was really nice, and restaurant super clean. I will be returning!
The food and tea are delicious. Relaxing atmosphere
Great bibimbap + the gyoza was deliciously homemade! This combination kicked off a small spree of me ordering this combination of dishes from several restaurants but this restaurant did it the best. A hidden gem, just wish they weren t exclusive to Uber eats & were also available on DoorDash.
The sushi, sashimi & ramen are so AMAZING!!!! The fish are so fresh and buttery!!! Will definitely recommend it if youre looking for authentic Japanese cuisine! This is not a paid review lol Please support this restaurant
The ramen is really gross super watery and fishy tasting, the pork pieces are hard not soft the noodles tasted like bagged noodles I could make myself. Sushi was well made though. Don t get the ramen.
We tried this place following a friends recommendation. Could not have been more impressed! The food was fresh and flavourful with generous portions. Due to COVID concerns we did take out only but noted that the tables were spaced out enough and there were tastefully decorated bamboo barriers between tables so we would be comfortable dining in. We will be back. Often!
You can taste the freshness of the homemade noodles at this family owned establishment. The rich broth is excellent and sushi is on par. As ramen enthusiasts, Ikkoi has our new favorite bowl of ramen in the area!
Love this small little place. Been there a few times and everything I order is delish
The service was terrible but the food was good. An older gentleman was serving us and service was definitely not his thing. He refused to take our drink orders before taking our food order. I could see that the table next to us were trying to ask him questions and he seemed to have gotten annoyed. But the food was good.
Delicious food, especiallyly the ramen. And not super expensive either!
Small family run restaurant in Etobicoke. Decor is reminiscent of Japanese restaurants that are hard to come by. Cute sushi pictures, chopsticks displays and tea ceremony items on the walls. Only disappointment is no in ground seating, only booths and regular seats. Fish was fresh, had the chirashi don. My foodmates had the karaage chicken which was fresh and tasty. The yam tempura werr perfect squares and well cooked, not soggy or overly done, just perfect. Plating was beautiful with some carved flower vegetables on the plate. Rice was tasty with flakes of seaweed, and cooked well.... Service was good...wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Prices were reasonable: Dinner for three was $100, with two appetizers (karaage and sashimi scallops). Bento was $23ish, came with salad, and Chirashi was $24, which came with soup. Will be my favorite sushi place in Etobicoke now. Overall: Family run sushi restaurant with cute decor and fresh fish.
This place truly deserves 5 stars. I loved the ramen and it was such a hearty meal! Would definitely recommend if youre in the area. The staff is friendly too!
Excellent service. Really enjoyed the food. Will definitely be back!
I was disappointed in a recent trip here. Their udon is on point, but their sushi misses the boat completely. You can see that they use spoiled avocados in their sushi. Furthermore, their sushi is really salty for some reason. I hope they get better but in the meantime, you can do better at places like Gojima down the street.
Very tasty
They keep me coming back. Best food and best service
Ordered a a chicken karaage, a miso soup, an avocado salad and a poke bowl for myself and my mom The sashimi was very tasty and she actually finished the whole dish. I did not get tempura this time but like to try as it was also recommended by my husband.
Tomato, shotpor, chicken donburi, etc. are so delicious. Highly recommend ordering as a combo.... A clean and delicious place...a place I want to visit often.
Ramen was pretty bland unfortunately. The Chasu was good though
Great place!
overall very good experience
The food was delicious, we ordered the boat and we got a lot. Very good prices and definitely worth the price. Everything is so good, we were stuffed and we had 6 people
I liked it
Went for dinner tonight, Food was amazing and staff soo nice. Loved the zen atmosphere. Felt like we were in Japan again and really love all the great memories this place brought back to us Recommend +++
Great authentic Japanese restaurant. Will be back!!!
Food were very authentic and amazing
Hidden gem! One of the best Toronto ramen places you ll find. Family run business. Large portions, super delicious! Great sushi too
Very disrespectful and rude service. Food was ok but the owner/staff was extremely rude and adamant. Wont recommend because of the staff.
Have been craving ramen- this hit the spot!
Such a authentic Japanese food! Very delicious. You won t feel disappointed!
I was excited to try the place out. The waitress asked if we can wait 5 minutes to find us a place to sit. Waited for 15 minutes and still waiting... I dont know how they are in business... As we decided to go somewhere else they did not care.
Delicious sushi. I love that is a family-run restaurant, and they go the extra-mile on the food quality. Nice decoration, I feel transported to Japan.
Amazing food and great service, very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere
Amazing spot for ramen, served hot and very sweet staff that makes sure you eat good! Easy clean bowl !
The best sushi and ramen!
Tasty ramen soup. Polite and friendly service and the sushi is good.
The food is great..
The ramen here is beautiful. I also love the takoyaki and karaoke, definitely a solid place for Japanese cuisine.
Food was great but service was slow
Good sushi !! Fish was really fresh.
Amazing ramen and sushi. Place was busy but had room for us. Bathroom downstairs was clean and was surprised to see a diaper changing table for babies. Will come back again with my family!
Very fresh fish, well made rice and lots of filling in the rolls compared to rice. The house tea is also great. Would recommend!
I tried the tonkatsu ramen, king ramen, gyoza, and karaage here. The tonkatsu broth was flavourful and delicious, but they don t give you very much meat and only half an egg. The king ramen broth was not the best in my opinion - it wasn t super flavourful. The karaage was decent, but the gyoza was really really good - lots of filling and a very thin skin. The environment here was really nice and calm, with lots of really cute touches. However, I thought the service could have been better. I m not sure if it might have been because there was a language barrier, but I felt like our server was really unfriendly - almost felt a bit hostile at times (though this may have just been my imagination). Overall, it was a pleasant experience. It s definitely not my favourite ramen shop, but it was pretty decent.
I had their mountain salmon roll and their gyudon a few months back. The Mountain Salmon roll had too much sauce on top and the gyudon was more of a bulgogi rice bowl as it was too sweet. I wouldn t recommend these items.
A bit pricey in todays economy, but the food was well worth it. I wouldnt go here if you are wheelchair bound, as the toilets are downstairs with no alternative ways to reach it. Good service and food overall though.
Ive been to this place many times, the ramen is great and I love the decor/dishes, most of which are originally from Japan.
Service is terrible. Sushi is only ok. Way better places than this.
This place is definitely a hidden gem. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Excellent food. Great service. Great portions. I had salmon tariaki, amazing. We had the mango ice-cream after, creamy and delicious. I Highly recommend. We will go back
Phenomenal food! Phenomenal service! Phenomenal experience! The food was hot, fresh, and extremely tasty! Portions were generous and prices reasonable. Service was excellent. The owner and staff were polite, pleasant, and we never felt rushed. Atmosphere was cozy and warm. Calming music was playing while we dined. Overall a very relaxing experience. I absolutely recommend Ikkoi Japanese Family Restaurant and will definitely be returning!
Never have we been treated so disrespectfully in the last 10 years at any restaurant in the US/Canada.. the server (an elderly Asian origin man) ignored us right from the start and didnt bother coming to take the order or serve us water or provide napkins for the first 15mins while we just stared at an empty table. The worst was when my wife asked for cutlery (spoon and fork) for both of us. He told us he is busy and we should ask him whatever we need all at once! He then proceeded to bring us one single fork! When I asked him for another fork (for myself) we ended up arguing and instead of apologizing to us or fixing the problem he asked me to cool down bro. Im still shocked at how terrible this server was to us. I have no idea whether he was being racist or just disrespectful for the heck of it. Vegetarian options: They do have a decent number of vegetarian-only menu options
We had ramen when we visited the restaurant. The ramen was quite good but that s the only positive during our visit. The service was one of the worst I ve ever had. They didn t give us napkins and only refilled our waters long after our cups were empty and we had already finished our food. They saw our empty cups and continued chatting with each other. I would understand if the staff were busy with work but they were too busy chatting instead of doing their jobs. Their tipping option had a minimum of 15% until we asked them if this can be changed. I can t believe they expect a minimum of 15% tips for nonexistent service and for them to just chat and not do their jobs. The staff are such a joke.
The food was ok, however far too expensive for what you get. Also who starts tipping at 15% for takeout?!? Maybe an oversight on there part but did not leave a good impression.
Great presentation and excellent quality
Great meal! Nice ramen gem in the Islington area.
Ramen was soooo good. Tip of spice level: if you can handle budak spicy noodles then I recommend 3, otherwise get 0.5 and it s really flavourful. Definitely best ramen spot ever, and coming here again. Noodles were not too thin and not too thick. Broth was perfect consistency. I got the Sapporo miso ramen with spice level 0.5 and it was perfect. Highly recommended!!!!
Delicious Tonkotsu, different garnish then Im used to but it was very good and a large portion. Also great vibe
Food was fantastic but they force you to pay a tip for picking up your order. Next time I will call the servers out on it. Not giving customers an option to refuse to tip (especially when you provided no service) is insulting to say the least.
I went here about 3 days ago to pick up food. First off when I entered the door nobody greeted me and just stared at me from the kitchen, not very friendly. As I told them I was here to pick up food they began processing my payment. I realized that they had a mandatory tip, the options being 15, 18, and 20%. I asked them if this level of tip is mandatory and they selected a hidden setting that allowed me to bypass this page and make the final payment. However the older man, probably in his 50s, leaned over to the waitress and spoke to her in Korean about me and how I didn t tip what they wanted and started speaking bad about me. Thing is I m Korean and I understood every little thing they said. . . ? Etobicoke Ikkoi .
