We ordered 3 cevapi and 1 kg of burek. We were told to wait 10-15 minutes as the burek was in the oven, and we were given a device to notify us when the order was ready. However, after 25 minutes with no update, I approached the counter to ask about our order. The staff then brought the 3 cevapi but informed us the burek was sold out. This is unacceptable management and poor customer service. We traveled all the way from Newmarket to enjoy a nice Sunday with my family, only to have the experience ruined. Very disappointed and will not be returning. Thank you.

Whenever I crave Balkan food I come here. Mrakovic has a good variety of hot takeout food as well as fresh meat and frozen food. It also has lots of Balkan groceries and everything you need to make Turkish coffee.

This place is a restaurant and grocery store. The food is cooked to order. Its not fast food. Its fresh and delicious. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It smells amazing in there. The dessert is amazing. The Cevapi is award winning. I highly recommend you drop in for lunch. You will not be disappointed. This place is always busy, so plan ahead.

Beautiful packaging and nothing else. Kebab is over-salted, after the burgers the barbecue burned with fire for a long, long time. Question, what is this made of?!

All your products are excellent, no doubt. The only thing as a consumer, what really is not the greatest is the way you package your hamburgers, chicken burgers and pljeskavice. I would recommend to place parchment paper in between the meat, that way its easier to take apart and cook. The plastic that you have now is horrible and gets stuck to the meat. Thanks.

Rude & disorganized staff who carelessly speak slavic muttering insults to customers will not be tolerated whatsoever. Do better. Next time, its a lawsuit. 1st and last time going. Terrible experience, garbage, trash and disgusting treatment. Food sucks. Everything sucks in there. Miserable atmosphere. Starskys , as a competitor, has much better service and respect for customers. Do not go here. If thats how they treat community representatives, then its a reflection on the entire business operation. P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C....emphasis on the IC factor. 5 thumbs down. Do better.

We have been visiting since this place opened, our last take away order is when they messed up where we were given a large Chevapi instead of an extra large. On calling them they offered us to come and collect the FIVE MISSING pieces ... not acceptable .. you may please keep those FIVE pieces and get profitable !!!

Great place to get Balkan specialties

The evapi (chevapi) was awesome. Super delicious and great quality.

The burek is delicious, and I ve only tried a handful of other items from the hot table, which have all been yummy. I m always a bit intimated going in because I don t speak the languages or know the right names for items. I don t know if I m self conscious but I feel like the staff aren t that friendly. I d like to ask more about the food but it doesn t always feel welcoming. I ll keep coming back because what I have had is amazing, and there s only 2 Balkan stores within an hour or two from where I live.

This hidden shop has the best cevapi in town. People drive from long distances just to order lunch from here. Make sure to order ahead of time to pick it up because they cook it when you order at the counter and you end up waiting. Call 15 min ahead of time. They also got these tasty savory burek..was filo pastry stuffed with various things... . Gotta check it out if you are in the area

Business sells expired meat products, cevapi box had an expiry date pertaining to August 2023. When issue was brought to shop runners, their reaction was aggressive. Did not even apologize for not checking the refrigerators for expired products. Instead, insulted and accused that the said product was bought back in Aug.2023!!!! Be careful if a customer of this place...better try buying similar products in other places.

Great fresh and dried veal, beef or sheep meat, good cakes, amish supply of butter and sour cabbage, Balkan sourced teas and cookies. evapi fresh prepared to dine in or take out. A bit tight for customers to pass by in the rush hour. My hubby claims thats the charm of the store. I wouldnt quite agree.

Amazing from from home!

I m Palestinian, but I have some Bosnian and Serbian friends and I ve had a lot of Balkan food over the years. This place is in my opinion makes some of the best food I ve had since I came to Canada. I had a little bit of everything and it s all excellent, but the Chevapi is 10/10 you have to try it!

I bat the kebabs in these places and I find tha metal wires on the kebabs.

Such a unique, cozy spot in the middle of nowhere. The chevapi was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Turkish coffee and the burek were an amazing combination. It was also my first time to have burek, and I thought it tasted delicious. If you would find yourself in Etobicoke, this bakery is worth a visit!

While there are still several options in Toronto/GTA for people from the Balkan region looking for a taste of home, the options are really lacking compared to what we had 10+ years ago. There are some quite expensive, merely not bad, options, but nothing I can think of that stands out. Except Mrakovi . I first visited here about 10 years ago, and recall not being blown-away. Lets chock it up to it being an off day, or just faulty memory on my behalf. A few months back, I decided to revisit the IYKYK Etobicoke institution after hearing lots of praise for it lately from various sources. This time around I ended up falling deeply in love with the classic Balkan delicacies on board, and would become a weekly/bi-weekly patron moving forward. Ive not had it all, but the things that are superlative iterations of their respective selves are: the evapi (with the lepinja of course), the sa , and goulash. Ive always preferred Serbian style evaps, which prominently feature pork (and, to my tastebuds, slightly altered seasoning levels- maybe more salt-heavy), but I havent found myself at all missing the pig at Mrakovi with their succulent, perfectly cooked, meat cylinders. Absolutely top-notch evapi, potentially the best in the city at current. That is a must on any visit, but so is the sa , which is simply seasoned, but profoundly flavourful. For those unfamiliar, sa is a simplified umbrella term for things cooked under a large (steel?) bell, where everything is left in one vessel to cook and absorb the others juices. Its a deceptively simple dish, but one not to be missed under any circumstance- Mrakovi s veal sa in particular is just heaven on a plate, my gosh! The goulash is also absolutely fantastic. Actually, my lone criticism is regarding the burek, which is not my favourite- is it filled with cottage cheese vs. feta which Im used to and prefer? Few times Ive had it, I felt it couldve been baked a few minutes more- tasted a bit raw-, but thats my only complaint to speak of. Okay, and maybe how cramped it is in there! Other than that, I always greatly look forward to visits here. Highly recommended!

The new Chicken Chevapi is so loaded with salt that if you want a heart attack go for it, it exceeds 3 days worth of recommended daily salt intake, cant taste anything but salt it is disgusting!!!!!

Products are good but beware where you buy them ! Burgers and Chevapi are much cheaper if you buy at Metro than in the store directly - really a shame. Example: a couple of days ago, Big Balkan Burger at Metro (Etobicoke) $15.99, in store $22 ! Quite a difference.... Similar price difference for Chevapi as well.

I ve never had better cevapi in my life. The burek is amazing wait for a fresh batch as it comes out every few minutes. Service is 10/10 as well. The girls who work there are so kind. Love this place. I try to go every week.

There are variety of items you can select from. Grocery items, cooked food . There are dine in facilities too. I can observe the quality of the goods as well as the service.

You people are incompetent! Who the hell packs hamburgers, stacked on top one another with just plastic wrap in between and freezes them!? I couldnt separate the patties, even after putting them in boiling hot water! I got so fed up I threw them out and went to Harveys. Total waste of my money! Do not not by their hamburgers, they are a waste! Never buying your brand again.

I will give 5 stars but I have to say that the ajvar I tried for the first time in one hand is great but it is too sweet if you put only half of the sugar you are putting now it will be great. Red peppers are sweet on their own, so it is unnecessary to add a lot of sugar. The best ajvar is Ba ajvar, and you are in the same class if you reduce the sugar, because all of us from those Balkan areas do not like sugar like Americans, adding it to every recipe. All Im trying to say is....cut back on the sugar and itll be awesome.

This was the most homemade-like food Ive ever eaten in a restaurant. I tasted like my grandmother had cooked this meal! I highly recomend coming here for lunch or dinner. The products they offer in the market are also unique and hard to come by elsewhere.

This establishment definitely deserves the highest praise! Incredibly delicious ready-made meals! Very friendly owner! We turned up 5 minutes before closing, but they served us and gave the child a chocolate bar! I sincerely recommend visiting this store!

We used to love this place, and would travel almost an hour for their food, but it s been getting really bad over the years. They have canceled our orders for events without calling us and with no remorse or offer to fix the problem. Food quality has declined, customer service has become horrible, and they never answer the phone. We will be taking our business to Sarajevo Bar and Grill moving forward.

A delightful Balkan centered deli and food store. The hot prepared food is delicious and the shelves are filled with ethnic packaged products that, no doubt, are staples back home. Their fresh bread is excellent and I always stock up on jars of stuffed peppers, and different pickles and relishes. The store is busy and crowded at times but the plentiful staff are helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. Their deli meats are delicious and some cuts are not that common. Parking is plentiful, including a handicap spot. I recommend for an interesting ethnic deli to explore and enjoy on a fun outing.

The burgers taste alright but just the packaging will make me never buy them again. Got a package of 6 burgers and had to defrost all of them just to separate 1 from the stack. Unbelievable. There are much better halal choices that taste better and are much easier to separate.
