The two stars are purely for the insanely good Sambusa - I will be taking my business elsewhere when my cravings hit. Do not waste your time ordering from their website, no matter how appealing the claim that you could "skip the line" may be. I ordered and paid for 8 sambusas early in the afternoon yesterday, and received an order confirmation/number for pick up that evening. I then received a text when my order was ready. I arrived and there was no where for online pickup. I joined the line and a rude patron began trying to cut in line in front of me. When I made it to the front of the line, the staff were confused and stated they had not seen my order and I was put on the staff's phone with someone in charge. I clarified my order number/name/items several times and the man on the phone maintained that he could not see my order. Finally the man on the phone said the staff will give me my order - THEN THE STAFF BEGAN TRYING TO CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR MY ORDER. Again, I spoke to the man on the phone and he continued that my order did not exist. Only after 5 minutes of back and forth and mentioning pulling up my credit card history did he finally "FIND" my order. Bulls***!!!! "Skip the line" is a scam, and maybe the man in charge was too.
Great tasting food. Reasonable prices. We love their sambosa, sweet bread and tea. They serve much more and its all great. We find this place a bit noisy as its always busy. But its ok for us as we usually order for take-out.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECCOMEND THE BEEF SAMOSAS😷 Samosas are FILLED with SOOOOOOO MANY ONIONS. Like really large chunks too. Like come on man! It's so easy to make samosas. My 9 year old can make them. Please learn how to balance ingredients. Too much onions ruins the taste. Do you want people to have bad breath after eating your samosas? Istar, Al-Aruba & Xawaash do a waaaaaay better job with their samosas. And the service was suuuuuperrrrr slow 🐌 🙄 and for what!?!?! ONION samosas????🧅🧅🧅 UGH!!
Had the beef samosas and Mango juice. 5/5 Definitely will be back! Dining tables and main entrance doors could use a wipe down it's a bit sticky.
Salama Hut is a great spot, and their food is a standout. The beef samosas are a must-try—they're packed with flavor and are some of the best I've ever had. The beef stew with bread is also delicious, with rich, hearty flavors that are perfect for a comforting meal. The service is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Definitely give Salama Hut a try if you're in the mood for some great food!
Today I took my brunch with my daughter at the restaurant and I can say the food is amazing test. I request beef stew with malawah which is kinda big pancake has a little sweet taste but is still good to eat the beef , the stew is juice and perfect if your day goes long it will be good enough to keep working 💪🏼👷🏻. The samosas are awesome test, really I’ve tried in different places but these are the best!! And they sell the best and hot shaa (chai tea) that may wakes you up… better than coffee , it’s fresh!!! The prices are incredible, we paid 23 cdd for six samosas, beef stew a slice of cake and one pop!!! I’m still here just sitting and enjoying my brunch, good for families!!
These guys SLAP, the value for what u get is insane. I got a solid sub, filled with beef (they are definitely not shy with the beef), 2 sambusa's and a drink for only $12.50. This place was also packed for a Sunday. I will definitely be back here with my friends! Don't sleep on this spot!
What a great Somali restaurant. Everyone who works there makes you feel like you are family. The food is great and the service is remarkable. You must try their beef samosas and Jay Jay (Beef and Somali bread fried in BBQ sauce). I would definitely go back again.
I love Salama hut.
Somali cafe shop. Honestly, I didnt eat their food yet.
Lovely place to be
10 Samboosas + mango shake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is my order every time... Soooo good! Parking: There is free parking, its not a huge lot but its not super small either. When its busy, it gets full really quickly, and ppl park just anywhere they can fit, so sometimes you can end up getting boxed in. I dont usually have a problem finding parking when I go here.
Samosas & Foul.. just cant get enough of them
Salaama Hut never disappoints, it truly is comfort food in all sense of the word. This food is Somali approved
Beef Sambusa are a must!! Less than $2 each and packed with beef and flavour! 10/10 this is the spot!
Samosas were okay. Chapatis were burnt. Wish I could show the photo
Their samosa was just amazing
Mango shakes and beef samosas. Done talking. Excellent tasting food
This is a place where if you want to experience how it feels like being you are in Somalia when Somalia was at its best. The food is amazing and tasty and the back ground noise of people talking in their native language and also being loud in a funny way. For $10 you can have a full meal that will keep you full the whole day and add $1 for the Somalian tea or mango juice that will actually make you feel like have just arrived in mogadishu or hargeisa and came back to toronto the minute you leave the restaurant. Keep up the good job.
Best tea and samosas
Delicious food. Sambusa.......
I ve been coming to Salaama Hut for over 6 years. While the beef samosa s are outta this world with flavour. The chicken ones were over salted and COLD when I came by last week. I bought 12 and could only eat 2. It was heavily salted. I will stick with the beef moving forward. I gave it 4 stars because often I go in and there is no line, but they are talking behind the counter and don t acknowledge me. I will be standing there and making eye contact but they carry on with their conversation.
It was my first time trying Somali food. The food was absolutely delicious and the owners were very nice and helpful in choosing what to order. Would love to be back!
Delicious Somali food. I ordered Anjara and liver. I enjoyed that, the serving was good. big portions of serving, the service was slow. I will go back here when I have more time to wait for services. The cost $10-20 Bought some samosa for takeout.
the customer service here is awful we placed an order for pick 2 days before. pick up time was 12pm. order wasnt ready till 1:45. they didnt even have anyone respect to call & advise. very disappointing. Somosas are delicious.
Food is really good but they are extremely slow servers .
Beef Samosas are amazing. Perfect size and perfect filling. Staff are kind as well.
Improve on time management
Specializing in East African variety, good is very good. Service and presentation, feel like it misses the consistency. Take out or how the food is served / packed especially the Halwa could use improvement and improvising.
Delicious samosas and burr! $1.25/samosa
I like good service
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Definitely will be a go-to spot! Also the customer service is AMAZING!!!! Food : 5/5
WOW this place is amazing! A couple of friends brought me here raving about the food, and it didnt disappoint! The staff here is so friendly, truly feels like a community spot. Will definitely return!
Best sambusa in Toronto. It is absolutely phenomenal.
Amazing place
Great service and great food
Ive ordered their sambosas and they were absolutely delicious. Only thing I wish would be that people put their garbage in the trash as you can see a lot of it on the ground outside the business.
Best samosas place so far.

The good food on a budget
Just wow
Food is always amazing. Their mandazi and samosa never disappoints. The restaurant is also in a good location right off the highway even. My only issue they never answer the phone when you call the store to make an order.
The food flavor is like no else, the portion is so big, and the staff is super nice and patient. Will be coming back anytime I can!

Absolutely amazing food, and very kind, hospitable staff! Cant recommend this place enough. Cute, homey atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back. Make sure you try the tea, a sweet milky, warmly spiced drink. Very reasonable prices for the high quality.
There is a bit of wait time of 15-20 min if you are picking large amount of beef samosa. Their beef samosa are filled with minced beef, and the filling is alot!
Excellent service and food
Our chicken sandwiches (2 of them) took over an hour to make AND had beef mixed in with the chicken. We also ordered soor with sugo and the soor not fresh and instead of sugo there was spinach on it. Overall we couldn t eat most of the food and had to throw it out. Wouldn t recommend this place to anyone, slow service and bad food are a bad combination.
Cleanliness is Terrible.
Im definitely going back for the Beef Samosa . And guys trust me, just get Ca5$ and you will be surprised to get Four 4 Wow, just enjoy, everything there is Halal. Though I was surprised to see a Chinese man walked in to grab food too .Thank you SALAAMA HUT Parking: You can park anywhere around the building and just walk in, until you are done then you are free to pick your car up.
Food tastes good
A nice place to go if you are looking for East African dishes. It has the African friendliness feeling/warmth atmosphere

Best shah and sambusa ilike it
Best place for Somali fast food
Salama Hut has the best somali shax in Toronto. If you re craving that strong gingery shax, this is the place to go. Coming in second is their Sambus (samosa), everyone and their momma s knows this is where you find the holy grail of samosas. Their wraps and cakes are really good too!
Nice service, good manners, delicious Food;
Best samosas and maandazi Kenyan style. Great customer service
Im Somali and I am very proud to have Salama hut on my side, their delicious food is cheap and affordable.

Delicious sambusa and bur, good customer service too
Food is excellent and the place is nice .
Incredible food for cheap prices. I love the quality of the Somali Cuisine
I used to buy lots of snacks from them i large quantities they used to make food stuff until yesterday I sent my friend to pick up my order for samosas and Madazi worth $60 the madazi have a tangy taste as if they were fried in old oil that was previously used for something else. They tasted completely off I had to spit everything out because I know the original taste of their madazi this was off I feared for myself to get food poisoning. I have tried calling the restaurant unfortunately no one is answering. Am stuck with the largest plate of silver foil with madazi worth $30. Am truly disappointed. Sometime back I still placed a big order and they delivered less the number I had ordered for I called and the gentleman was kind he promised to do better next time but yesterday s experience was the worst from these people.
Wonderful food with reasonable price
Good
The Samosas here are awesome. If youre of African ethnicity and want Samosas that taste as close to home as possible, this is for you
Amazing and very clean
Food is good but they have confused lazy workers
One of the best tasting food joints in gta.

Love the tea, samosa. Great experience
Legend Spot.
Great food
Salaam to all the patrons fortunate enough to find this hidden gem of the Somalian community entrenched in Rexdale. Much like its affiliate, Hamdi restaurant, they offer traditional cultural food items at an inexpensive price. From beef filled samosas to Somalian pancakes with beef stew, my favorite breakfast item for a full days sustenance. Enjoy your visit and be sure to leave your comments whether you agree with my opinion or have your own suggestions. Shukran Jazeelan.
Somalian foods are awesome!! I like there somucha, tea and mandoesy.
Love the food...always running out of wraps
For the price of a coffee at Starbucks you get a cardimum tea, somossa, and mandazi which all taste better then anything Starbucks offers.
Best Somali Sambusa. Be ready to wait a little longer. It is worth it.
Lady in the front, my god! Service isnt the best lets just say that. Also she shouldnt count cash with the same gloved hands shes serving naked food with.
Best somali food
Great samosas, good somali (with ginger...hits your throat...if you have a soar throat, a little too sweet). If you just wanna grab quick snack on the go!
New experience for me. The food tasted good. First time having liver for breakfast.
