We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Kaitlyn was our server and she was wonderful. The food was great!

Dasha was an incredible server and we loved speaking with her about her story. The food was excellent and, after our first visit, we will definitely be returning. Thank you, Dasha!

This was our 1st time here. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was delicious (steak and sushi) and I loved my cocktail! Our server, Dashia, was delightful. She was so personable, and predicted our needs ahead of time. We had such a positive experience, we will be back!

Sorry for the late post, my wife & I were there with our cousin and his girlfriend for dinner on Friday Nov 29th. Adam was our server, my cousin is allergic to shell fish. Adam took the time to explain to him what food would be good for him to order because some of the food that is deep fried or cooked in the kitchen may use the same oils to make other dishes like seafood. Out of all the places Ive been to for dinner this is the first time Ive ever seen a server explain that in detail.

Came in for happy hour menu. Calamari was tasty and we liked that the onions, peppers and jalapeños were fried along with calamari for extra flavour. The happy hour blonde and red ale beers were ok but we wouldn t come back for them. I enjoyed the refreshing state smash cocktail and would come back for it. We also ordered the pretzel bites which were ok but the dip that came with it was very reminiscent of Cheez Whiz. Would not order again for this reason.

Great place and flavourful fresh prepared food. Excellent quality and fun atmosphere that is comfortable and trendy. Great service as well.

My wife and I dont live in Toronto anymore, but every time we visit we make it a point to come to this particular State and Main for three reasons: 1. Bang bang shrimp be bangin! 2. Brussel sprouts are amazing! 3. Oksana(?) is THE BEST bartender and host. She is attentive and cares for each patron and makes sure youre taken care of!

The service food and atmosphere is amazing! D is an amazing bartender. Adam was also very quick and attentive. Overall an amazing experience.

It was okay - the Grilled Cheese Burger seemed to be the best plate at our table, sooo good, I do recommend it. The salmon was over cooked, the chicken fingers a little too crispy. My husband said the fish and chips werent bad but nothing special. I liked their fries too. The menu was very brief and didnt offer a lot of choices for picky eaters.

ADAM was magnificent and attentive with the service he provided. As for the food, the Bangkok Shrimp Bowl was Bland and underwhelmin, Thai Express has better flavor. However, Adams service compensated for the lack of quality of the food.

Came here the other day for some drinks with friends. The drinks were ok, but the service from the bartender (short brunette) was below par. She was rude to the other servers and had a crappy attitude. The vibe myself and friends got was really weird between the manager and bartender, the animosity from that same manager to the rest of the staff was off putting. I was here a few months back around may, and heard an exchange between the host and the manager where she simply asked a question and was met with immediate attitude. I ve been here many times, and honestly i m not 100% sure why I ve come back. This is about the 3rd instance where i ve been uncomfortable for the staffs sake at this location. I m from the area and have heard a lot of talk from other customers about the manager being horrible to staff, but thought it could just be town talk. I hope staff is being treated well. I wanted to leave a review in case someone else is met with this same issue. Good chance we won t be returning to this location

What a fantastic experience!! Moved to BC yrs ago & have thought about & missed State & Main many times. I m in town, the Raptors are playing & this is a fav spot to watch the game. But our server, Adam sailed over our already high expectations. His attention to detail is exemplary, and his thorough knowledge of the menu was reassuring as I have a severe onion allergy. State & Main never disappoints, but Adam took it to 11 tonight.

Food and service was excellent, as always. However, we experienced one big disappointment: two of our group were charged $1.00 for a tiny dish of ketchup and mayonnaise! We were outraged but as we were entertaining guests, we let it go and paid. If this isnt reversed next time, well reconsider this venue. That is straight up gouging!

She was rude and was obviously annoyed she was moderately busy. didn t wanna answer any questions, and gave a lot of attitude to other servers.The general manger wasn t very helpful to the situation he literally look like he was strung out on something and basically give Madison the right way my family and I will never ever eat back at this location

I must say, I had an amazing experience dining at this parochial location. Much better than others I ve been to! And our server was amazing. Madison I believe her name was, she was very bubbly and welcoming well as accommodating when it came to my dietary restrictions. I told her I m going to request her as my server every time haha. 20/10.

Came by State and Main in Etobicoke for a quick bite and ended up having a lovely time! The mixed greens are great and the Bang Bang Shrimp had quite the kick! Scrumptious! Will have to come back for it again! Though the food was great, we were really blown away by the service .. we had a wonderful server named Parwana who answered all of my annoying questions with kindness and patience, going through the menu with us. You can tell that some people really do care! Even chatted about the moon haha! Really cool bracelets too! Be back soon to try the salmon (and for a tarot reading lol)! A friend of mine lives within walking distance and we decided to give it a try. State and Main did not disappoint. The calamari was a great starter and got completely devoured! I had the grilled cheese burger and it was really good. Loved the fries, and the dipping sauce was amazing. Would definitely come again. Great service, and a calm and relaxing vibe on the patio.

What a classy place. Beautiful and comfortable, and very professional atmosphere. Excellent service. The meal: I had the 6oz strip loin, he had the 10oz Empire State, both had mashed potatoes and asparagus. We both felt the same. I recommend you put some lemon juice on your asparagus, now. Oh my gosh, it was heaven in my mouth, even though I love asparagus on its own, and so was every bite that followed. We were blown away by the quality of everything on our plates, right down to presentation, but also purpose. Like the steak over the potatoes which kept the potatoes a perfect temperature for the entire meal. The flavors were out of a dream. Im telling you, your tastebuds and your stomach will thank you for choosing this restaurant, and even better, so will your wallet with more than reasonable prices especially considering what you get. Ive spent more for less. Visit this restaurant. Youll be glad you did. Thank you for the incredible meal

Okay, I have been going here for a couple of months now on a fairly regular basis and I must say the staff is absolutely fantastic!

Our servers were super friendly and efficient, and moved us quickly indoors when it started to rain. My parents were visiting from out of town and the team went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. The food was delicious and portions were generous, and my dad said that his espresso was one of the best he s ever had. They ve decided that we re meeting at my local State and Main every time they visit. Keep up the great work, all!

Terrible! Smoke and mirrors! Customers wrong attitude. Gone downhill

We had dinner yesterday at this particular branch. Previously we used to go to the Kitchener one,quite a few times. We had the tomato- bacon soup and the Bang Bang Shrimp. Both dishes were fantastic. Our server was warm and unobtrusive. Shall definitely be going back for. mre !

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The service was tier 1!

Polite service but have difficulty with providing the time for food prep. 2-5 minutes turned to 15-20 minutes. As it should... but dont over promise and under deliver. Which is exactly what the bison burger did. Never had I had a bison burger so underwhelming... completely lacked flavour! So much to the point you cant even tell that youre eating bison... and I love a good bison burger. 1/5. Wouldnt order again. Bangkok bowl was decent for a Western establishment according to my partner but she too, would not order her choice again. 3/5. The only highlight? Fries with the dill dip. I would literally return just for that dip. Bomb. 5/5.

We often visit this location as well as the Oakville one. By far the staff and atmosphere are better here in Etobicoke. They made sure to make my food gluten free.

I ve ordered food from here a few times the pistachio salmon I am obsessed with it and they cook it PERFECT every time! Eventually I will try other items from here because I m sure they are amazing too but the salmon is perfection!

Good food, wonderful service

Grandly disappointed by the service. I m already paying $20 for a Mac and cheese (which was pretty decent) but my server forgot my order and didn t check back with me for 20-25 minutes after the fact. A man beside me placed his order at the same time and got his food like 15 mins before me. I waited 45 mins for a Mac and cheese in a 4x4 shallow skillet. Even the 1 drink I ordered came to me like over 20mins later (because they forgot about me). Albeit I came during a power outage in the area, but the restaurant wasn t packed- there s no reason I should be waiting so long for service or waiting for the server to notice me. I happen to be eating alone today, and I m not a complicated customer- I feel like it s easy to be forgotten as a hungry girl sitting alone at the bar. I won t be coming back here, maybe they ll notice you better in a big group, but I wouldn t come back here for a date either. Y all should compensate me for my headache, and for practically ignoring me

Waited 1 hour for my food. Service was so bad. Asked for container to take some food they said okay but did not give me. Portions are extremely small. Wont go there again

The short lady at the front desk needs to be trained how to costumer service. The moment I walked in before even she knows what I m there for was like I insulted her. Then start not even getting what I m saying. You lady need to learn how to chillax and be more confident.will still give 5 star just to show you how to chillax and for the kind and professional manager was standing there

State and Main Corporate listen up because you all need to find Adam (I don t know if I can put his server number but if you call me to discuss this amazing young man I will disclose it) and once you find him you need to give him a promotion or pay him more. This young man is a staple example of what customer service in the service industry is. Retain a client with his amazing rapport, hospitality, sincerity and service. Adam thank you for making my Mother s Day great and compensating for my steak being not done correctly and the time it took. I appreciate people like you and will return to State and Main in hopes everyone is like you. Thank you.

First time at this location. Food was very nice and good portions, staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The location is not great but plenty of parking. The place is pretty small compared to the others, especially in Barrie. Indoor seating is basically bar tables only. No standard seating. My wife and I either could sit at either end of an eight foot table or side side by side facing the same way. Price is a tad on the expensive side. Chicken fingers, 2 cokes and a burrito bowl and pretzel bites was 80bucks with tax. I will definitely come back but not often. Kid-friendliness: No

If youve been to one State and Main, youve been to them all! I have been to a State and Main in 3 provinces and this one had the same atmosphere and food as the others. Lots of sports options, crisp open space, and a lovely selection on tap. The service here was kind, but very slow, especially greeting people at the door (which I sat beside)... it was a wait for what seemed like everyone except us, to get seated and it wasnt busy. That considered- still recommend stopping in- Its a good watering hole

Have been to this one in Etobicoke, and the Stae & Main in London, ON and have to say I enjoyed the food more at the one in London, however, its still great quality! I had the French Dip, both times, but sampled the chicken strips and boy are they good! The chicken is super juicy and the breading is lite but delicious!

I ordered fish and chips to go had them out side the Resturant. The chips were very good . Fish was ok in the in side the batter.But the batter was horrible to crispy and crusty and oily Tasteless . I would order chips again but not the fish with the batter. Who ever made it should go over to Country Produce and see what a good fish batter real is in orilia. Onl;y on Fridays they serve fish and chips there . They know how to make a good fish batter. You must try to get with in 4 Oclock cause they get sold out some times between 430 to 530 Oclock .They only serve Halibut fish and chips. Best i ever had i go there amost every Friday. There halibut fish and chips is 17 dollars plus tax with the tax in is a shade under 20 dollars. I hope i have been some help to this restaurant and to the people who go there. I will still go back to try other foods .

2023 June: The food was perfect, piping hot. And it will be your lucky day if you get Deter as your server. Hes young, easy on our eyes and most importantly... very highly emotionally intelligent. He gives out the best service.... and very gracious with a kind smile. He should be in charge of training all new staff. The restaurant was much more lovely than I expected. We had the best time. Awesome barstaff and servers! A good local for the neighborhood

It was our first time coming to this restaurant and our initial interaction with our waitress was not that great. I vocalized several times that I am pregnant and prefer not to eat raw meat. I ordered the burger and specified no raw meat and to have it cooked well done. The burger came out bloody and raw. I was already extremely hungry ended up eating the fries as we waited to speak to our server. However, Danielle the manager took over and was absolutely lovely to deal with. She turned our visit completely around as she was attentive and apologetic for the raw burger. She made sure I got a new one and it was cooked correctly and offered me other food to help tie me over. We really appreciate the excellent management by her. Thank you again Danielle!

I m so happy to have this place close to home :). The food and service is always good. Watched Super Bowl there and had a Caesar, wings, nachos and bang bang shrimp. All delicious.

The spicy tuna poke bowl was quite salty and so were the fries that went with the fish and chips. Stay away from these if you are watching your sodium intake.

State and Main have never failed when it comes to serving the best Old Fashioned and their list of cocktails is good. Service was great as always, their appetizers can be better but it s good. I thought they would pay attention to my booking on OpenTable that we were there for a birthday but they didn t.

The attitude towards visitors is bad, the food has not gone anywhere yet, but the service suffers

I do not recommend this bar. Horrible attitude of the staff to the visitors and the food delivery person. The bar employee left a negative review on Uber, apparently he is very proud of himself for ruining the rating and the opportunity to go to the next level. I wrote the review yesterday, but it disappeared from the site. You will not be able to hide the reality of your business. You cant hide your true identity as a company.

We had a restaurant gift card and State & Main was one of the places that it could be used at. We had never been and decided to try them out. Service was great. Our waiter, we apologize as we cannot remember his name, was great and attentive. A bit of friendly small talk, asked questions, offered suggestions and here we go.... For starters, my adult beverage of choice is a Moscow Mule. Lately any Ive had while out have been weak on ginger flavor (I swear some have been using Sprite). Well, not here at State & Main. It was fantastic! A real nice bite from the ginger. If I wasnt driving, I would have had 2 more. LOL! My wife really enjoyed her espresso martini. We shared the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. Flavorful with a bit of heat. A good sized dish for two. My main was the French dip, aka beef dip. Delicious! Nice soft bread, tasty shaved beef and crispy fries with a dill dip (for the fries). If I had one complaint, needs more horseradish; not a hotter one but just more on the sandwich or some on the side My wife had the butter chicken and really enjoyed it. She made me try it because I hear curry spice and Im like NOPE. It turns out that this one I like. We ordered a desert to go because we were too full... which the manager brought out to us, and had a little chat, thanking us for choosing this restaurant knowing it was our first time. That was nice. We plan on coming back. We decided to save our gift card for that next visit.

Visited Friday afternoon (130pm ish) was expecting it to be busy, but was relatively quiet, so was able to get a walk in table. Place is pretty nice inside, booth and table setup is nice for small to medium sized group. Pictured here are the Pistachio Salmon and Honey Chicken. The honey chicken was stellar, 5 star for this dish, I could have ordered another right there and then and eaten this thing, highly recommend!

The menu is good with options for vegetarians / chicken lovers and steak eaters. We went out for dinner and ordered a honey glazed blackened chicken and famous steak. Both the dishes were great in taste and the sides were great as well. Overall 5/5 for food/menu/servers/ambience.

We had another great meal at State and Main. Service was great and timely. Food came out nice and hot, exactly as we had ordered it. Will definitely go back! We are from out of town, the restaurant seemed busy, but that didnt impact the service at all.

Had the most delicious steak here on Thursday night, every bite was tasty & extremely flavourful, my wife also had the salmon dish, she loved it, shout-out to the cooks that night who made our night very memorable. Service was also very good! Thank you guys, we will definitely be coming back.

Recommend - Had half-price wings. All the drums had a very hard piece attached that was gross. It should have been cleaned up/removed prior to cooking. But tasty wings, especially at half price. Server took a bit to get to us but was a great young man who was on the ball and pleasant. I find it a bit bright in there lol but thats me. Enjoy!

Just had the most enjoying dinner catching up with a friend and had a delicious Steak.

State & Main used to offer brunch, but unfortunately, that option is no longer available since 2023. Despite the absence of brunch, the food quality remains consistent; however, the food prices have gone up. Service is constantly on-point but will have to decide on an alternative place for a better option of quality vs total bill. During a quiet weekend lunch, the service was very responsive. Our waiter was very attentive but oversold every upgrade and thoroughly knew the menu. We ordered the Soup Dumplings, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, Bison Burger and The Grilled Cheese Burger. Their appetizer version of 6-piece Soup Dumplings was Dumplings with Soup inside aka Xiao Long Bao and was over garnished with onions, carrots, and chili garlic oil for extra flavour. However, for the value and quality, the Soup Dumplings were not worth ordering for next time. The Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl is still reliably delicious. Moreover, customers can take advantage of the happy hour, available every day from 3-6 pm and 9 pm until close, including weekends. The location boasts a decently sized patio, complete with ample outdoor seating and heating lamps for cooler days. Their indoor seating was very clean and lots of nice booths to sit at. There are a lot of parking spaces that are shared with the restaurants and TD Bank nearby. Also, it is conveniently located next to the bus stop. Parking: Ample parking spots in the plaza; parking spots are shared between the units in this section along with the bank nearby. It gets busy but you can always park at the supermarkets lot nearby which is a short walk to the restaurant.

Brought my wife here for her birthday.. got seated right away and then waited 15 minutes just to place a drink order.. while we waited for our drinks the server cleaning the table next to us sprayed cleaning solution on the table which splashed up and hit both of us in the face. 25 minutes after being seated we got our drinks.. by that time we were fed up and asked for the bill.. the waiter seemed taken back, brought us the bill but not the machine to pay. We ended up having a great time at The Keg instead.. The lack of service here is pathetic.

Went from 5 stars to one star due to Anna serpukhova the assistant general manager who acted completely unprofessional! I have anxiety and was having a panic attack due to how close they were placing individuals for seating. She shrugged her shoulders and left it up to the staff to figure it out. She was going to keep me at that table until I got my plate and moved myself. Don t go here the service has changed significantly, there were no apologies shes does not care for customers so I will not be recommending nor stepping back in that establishment while it s a sardine fest ! Been here a few times. Twice with my husband & once with friends & family. The service is so great. Every time I ve been here the service is what stands out. The waiter brought my sister in law a mocktail on the house as he heard her complaining about being our ride. They are great!

UPDATING my review from 1 star to 2 only because the food was great. Service was still unacceptable. I placed an Uber order for delivery. After the order was placed, I changed it on the app from delivery to pickup and called the restaurant to let them know. They said that s fine and to come in through the front entrance. When I entered, there was no staff at the front so I let the bartender know I was here. Waited for a bit and then a male server asked if he could help me grab a seat as he carried food over to a table. I let him also know I was here for my Uber pickup and he literally ignored me and proceeded to walk away. So RUDE!!!!! I had to actually PHONE the restaurant from inside their establishment to let another person know I was here. It was extremely awkward and I found the staff all unfriendly and unpleasant. Seems like they have something against customers that make Uber orders or something. It s funny too that my former colleague mentioned his friend is the Manager of this place. I will def be sharing this story.

Good food and great service. This time we came on Sunday night, thought it would be nearly empty but there was quite a few people, some watching the games and others like us having dinner with friends.

I had a wonderful experience when visiting the restaurant a couple days ago. Tara the hostess was very kind and accommodating to our seating request. Also, Adam our server was lovely, giving us the best drink recommendations to complement our dinner choices, the butter chicken, the main burger and the crispy chicken burger. Overall, great experience and we will be back soon!

Its a good restaurant but our server had some opportunity to improve his hospitality and courtesy. The chicken enchiladas were great but chicken wings were not the best as the bones were quite red. The mac n cheese was great but the bread was burnt (as you can see in the image below). Good restaurant but has quite a bit of opportunity to improve. Our office comes for lunch usually once / week & Cody does a great job taking care of us! The food is great, drinks and atmosphere too!

Their Happy Hour kept us happy until we order our dinner menu. An abundance of food, and fresh food, coupled with great service from Art, made for a fabulous experience at State and Main!

My gf and I came here on a whim on a Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. The food was surprisingly good for a chain restaurant. It was a nice balance between quality and portion size. The mocktail slaps! Slaps hard! We loved it. And our server, Adam, was classy, sincere and helpful throughout. He gave us honest recommendations and we felt informed with our food decision. He did his job admirably! Give this man a raise! Our experience dining here was extremely pleasant. We will come back again!

Got some takeout here recently, the French dip was excellent and the dill sauce for the fries were a nice touch. Service was very friendly when I came in for a pickup, and the atmosphere inside seemed nice and relaxed, with a drinks-after-work vibe. Felt a tad too pricey for the portion size but wasnt a ripoff by any means, very much in line for dining out in 2023. Definitely planning to stop by again for a proper sit-down sometime in the future! Parking: Next to the Loblaws, tons of parking in a big lot Wheelchair accessibility: No steps leading up to the door, so shouldnt have any problems wheeling in

Bad behaviour of staff specially a girl who working in bar skinny girl

Not too much to complain about. Good was good. Initially I was doubtful of the portion size but I ended up full. Service was really attentive and helpful.

We go here often as its walking distance. The service is often spotty, but this time our waitress was decent. The food, however, was very gross this time...every dish was insanely salty, I felt sick afterwards. Given the price of the food, will take a break from there for awhile, as we paid a lot for inedible food.

Great food, Awesome atmosphere

I was only there for happy hour, so it would be unfair to rate more specifically. But my time at the bar was thoroughly enjoyable - Ive been told the food is good, and the place looks like it could rock once full of patrons.

Garbage manager, garbage food, garbage menu, and just overall blah place.

The steak was burned, quite disappointing.

Had a delightful experience today with my friend at State and Main East Mall. We were pleased to have the same waiter, Adam, as we had several months ago. We shared 3 small plates- lettuce dragon rolls, bam bam broccoli and the Greek flat bread. All the food was excellent and served piping hot. There was a mistake with our order however the team of Anna, Adam and Cody handled this swiftly and professionally. A real class act. We had a great experience here and will return soon.

Great food and friendly atmosphere!..

The service was top notch, the food however was, underwhelming to say the least. Sooo unfortunate that the food program failed to meet the level of the service team.

The food was excellent. Zero complaints. It was clear the waiter was in the weeds from the moment he came past our table. My guess - his section was sat at once, or the place was short staffed. Either way, it was clear he was capable and trying to do his best.. which was poor but no fault of his efforts. After 90mins of occasional service he came by to apologize. He explained his predicament and asked if he could get us a dessert or coffee on the house to atone. This spoke volumes to me about a man working and while likely working very well with his colleagues was left by management to drown. Sorry, management. the waiter deserves the props, and he was not supported. I guess the Christmas rush caught you out
