Serving breakfast, lunch and brunch
This place is a very cozy little restaurant. The food was good, the breakfast was quite nice, we went around noon so it was brunch time. Their latte's are also really good! The only reason I gave this place a 4/5 was because of the price. Very expensive per person, but expect these prices when you're within the city.
A tasty local spot with lots of brunch options. Excellent portions and tasty bites. The real stars here are the staff who were flying around making sure every table had what they need. They were quick, attentive and never forgot a single request from our table or our neighbours. Compliments to Alex and Daria who deserve a raise.
It was a great spot for a social brunch. Went with friends. We were a group of 7. We all liked what we ordered and the service was top notch as well. Rare to find restaurants where both food and service are incredible.
Was around the area and this was a amazing find! Lil cute location with limited seating but we lucked out that we came at a good time for brunch! The price for what we got and the quality of the dish was exceptional. Home fries were hand cut with skin on (nice touch) which made them crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Bacon was well made, and I loved that they used fruits as garnish, gave the dish a nice contrast of flavor! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast/brunch spot in Etobicoke. Loved most of the food except the jack fruit tacos as they were a little too sweet. One of the main reasons for the 1 less star is that they could not accommodate for my family while waiting. I requested if I can wait in the car with my wife and my newborn son (that was right in front of the restaurant). They declined and said we need to wait physically. This was inconsiderate of the server as they should accommodate for such special requests.
We visited just after the high time around 1pm on a Saturday. Beautiful place with good food and quite quickly prepared 👍 the portion was just right, not too much. And the ingredients were of a good quality also. Will definitely come back! We had a Full breakfast dish and pierogies with caramelized onions and bacon with salad on the side (tomatoes removed). Pierogies and onions tasted just like at home in Ukraine! 🥰
So cute place to sit to have breakfast and lunch. Nice service, delicious food, nice atmosphere. I see people talking friendly and enjoy their time together. That's nice. Let's save such lovely places in Toronto, where you can enjoy tasty food, feel good, safe, and surrounded by nice feelings and positive energy.
We had in the neighborhood for a fell days and we went there 3 times! Amazing food, amazing serviceI Everything that we ordered was delicious! Avocado toast, eggs Benedict with pulled pork (it’s to die for!)
Great place for breakfast and lunch! Super nice service
This is my favourite place to come sit have breakfast, brunch or lunch. This spot is upscale and clean, calm and very pleasant workers and the owner is sweet and very pleasant. If you re passing on Bloor and need a power lunch, this is the place to stop. My favourite sandwich to get is the egg avocado and tomato on everything bagel, omg, yummy :). Stay bless
Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Parking: Bike lanes make it horrible for all businesses and drivers. Luckily, we found parking though. Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, if bike lanes will be removed, Ford is working on it.
Great breakfast spot on Bloor. Mexican Beni is a must. Quick and friendly service. We will be back.
A bit busy so you might want to go early if you don t mind waiting about 10-15 mins but overall the food and customer service is excellent!
Cute, local place! Good price and quick service. Portions are great.
Very nice place along Bloor. I had the classic breakfast and it was very tasty, with really good peameal bacon on the side. I believe the server we had was new but she was very friendly and spoke to the kitchen and reported back quickly when we had a question about allergies. Prices were reasonable.
Food was okay. Good portion of potatoes but they were very stingy with the meat but it was all cooked well. There were only two occupied tables and the server spent more time chatting with the other table and forgot to give us our coffees and waters (food was out before the beverages).
Really enjoyed my meal. Met a friend for lunch. Place was busy but we were seated in under the estimated time. Not too noisy like other places. Did not feel crowded or rushed! Everyone was kind and efficient! Parking was easy on side street.
Food is also consistently very tasty, pretty diverse menu with many different options. Great service, very friendly!
Took my littlest one for brunch on Sunday. Despite being very busy, both the service and the food were outstanding. I had the Mexi Eggs Benedict which I highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: Owner and wait staff were very accommodating to my little one.
Food s alright but the service was very slow. Took 1 hr from order to service for a table of 4.
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options! Food
Great service. Tons of options for eaters of all types. Even gave us a to go cup for a coffee!
Eggs Benny was killer. Service was great.
Nice diner. Large quantities and very reasonably priced.
food good. employees are slow and bad at their jobs
Amazing service!
This place has good reviews, mine isnt one of them. Went on a Saturday just after 12:30 placed my order it was ok nothing special about the beef dip sandwich. When it was time to pay my bill $26, I gave the server a $100 bill. She came back and said, they couldnt make change, told her thats all I had, so off she went again. She came back and gave me $70 instead of $74? Maybe she was hoping that I wouldnt notice, I did, and should have left a Dollar. She was lucky I left her $2.55. Toast on Bloor is just that, TOAST! I wont be back. Edit: I cant say I heard an apology, if so, I didnt hear it. Doesnt matter, what does and it blows my mind everytime is, the kids businesses put in positions handling cash, for the last almost 20yrs now, are lost and cant do simple math in theyre heads! Not just this instance, this is everywhere.
Lovely environment. Polite and friendly service. Food was excellent. You get that vibe of it being very kind people who care and work hard. We need more of this (the care and kind part). Highly recommend you support this establishment. It s to your benefit. Will definitely return.
Great service from Azhar. Delicious eggs Benny
My colleague and I arrived at 1238pm and were told there is a 5 minute delay. We have been waiting for over 45 minutes and still waiting for our eggs. This is terrible service Perhaps hiring more help in the kitchen, just a thought
This is a cute little spot that really seems to care about their customers. As a celiac I appreciate the care they take to keep things gluten free and my friends and family just plain love the food! Highly recommend!
The food is great, the owner Daria is amazing, the staff are wonderful. I go here atleast twice a week. Theres not much more to say than that, if you havent already been here you should go. Definitely try the menu item called Vals Sunrise Surprise, its my favorite item on the menu.
Great place for breakfast
Such a cute place! Friendly staff and yummy food. The eggs Benedict was delicious! I had the peameal version, but there were many options to choose from. The orange juice was also very good and fresh. Definitely recommend!
I found them online as I had a client meeting in the area and needed to get lunch for them. I arrived a bit late I asked for a speedy service, which was not an issue. Food was really good, I had time to eat and work a bit, my to go bag was ready on time, super friendly staff, friendly atmosphere l, highly recommend it!
Great food! Alex was an amazing server!
Favorite homestyle lunch place on the Bloor/Islington strip. I think what really kicks it up a notch is the kitchen, and the extra effort put into it. Its homey, comfort food, but, invariably, its done creatively and well. Not just a chicken sandwich, but marinated breast with fried halloumi cheese and aioli. Not just soup, but a daily, rotating selection. Yes, you can make soup from smoked meat, and its epic. And, now, they have a new selection of vegan options. Makes sense, with the large GoodLife gym across the street.
Delicious and fresh breakfast with good portions. Service was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend.
So yummy! I would love to come back, you should try it!
Food its just avarage.
Food is okay. The toasts have a lot of Hollandaise sauce which I find too sweet. Otherwise the food was largely bland. The service was quite bad with the server not even offering water for the entire table.
Huge compliments with the service, presentation, taste and layout of this restaurant. I wouldve eaten the plate if it was edible. Two thumbs up!!
An excellent Eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was amazing! Fantastic service as well! Thanks
Very good allergen protocols (especially for gluten free), good food, lots of space. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free, vegan options
Always a great place for breakfast. Food and service are wonderful!
First time going because I noticed they serve all day breakfast and we ll be back. The eggs benedict were done exactly as I requested and tasted delicious. My partner had the roast beef sandwich and it was also delicious. Green P parking is only a short walk away. Vegetarian options: They have many veggie options, including burgers and jack fruit tacos. I had the eggs bennie with fresh avocado.
We were in Toronto for a tournament and decided to stop by Toast on Bloor for breakfast what a great decision! The food was absolutely top-tier, with fresh ingredients and perfect flavors. The service was equally impressive, attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. Whether youre a local or just passing through, I highly recommend this spot for a fantastic meal. Especially Toast Egg Benedict with choice of Mexi. Will definitely be back next time!
Had their Toast Breakfast, Buttermilk Pancakes, and Salmon Benny - everything was delicious. The service was great and quick. Highly recommend :)
Always had great service and good food here at reasonable prices and Im glad to see nothing has changed beyond some new additions to the menu along with my old favourites!
Was a very clean and quiet customer service was great and the food was amazing. Wheelchair accessibility: The bathroom is located down stairs so Im not sure if that would work.. Food : 4/5 |
Breakfast was amazing! My new go to place for brunch and yummy breakfast!
This was our first time at Toast on Bloor and it was fantastic. The service was friendly and kind. The atmosphere was a good vive. The food was amazing. It was hot and served at the sametime. We were 6 people and we had the food hot and amazing. Well go again go sure
The food was very tasty. The service was excellent.
We visited on July 17 after the storm which had knocked out power in the area. The Toast staff managed with a generator to be up and running and serve delicious food. Great experience once again.
Overall food is great! Pricing is a little expensive but service is great!
I went to this place the other day, and I found hair so I thought they would give me a new one BUT they blamed it on me, and then they made my steak not what I was looking for. I m very disappointed in this
READ TO THE END I came to Toast on Bloor for Fathers Day with my dad & his girlfriend. Theyre regulars, but this was my first time. I ordered French toast & sausage, thinking it was regular breakfast sausages. After 2 minutes, I asked the server Caroline, how many sausages came with the order. She explained it was a single Polish sausage, which I dont eat, so I asked to change my order to pancakes & bacon. She said she had to check with the kitchen and returned, saying it was too late to change because the food was already on the grill, despite ordering less than 5 minutes ago. Caroline insisted I had to pay for the food even if I didnt eat it. As someone with restaurant experience, I found this protocol odd. I thought small restaurants might have stricter policies, but food waste is typically written off as a regular expense. I agreed to keep the French toast since no alternative was offered except adding bacon. When the toast arrived, it was basic bread, not worth $15. I took two small bites & didnt like it. My dad & his girlfriend witnessed this, as I started writing this review before I touched my plate. After taking my barely touched plate, she asked if I wanted a to-go container. I declined & waited for the bill since I was treating my dad to breakfast. When the bill came, the French toast was still on it of course. My dad asked if we were being charged for it, and Caroline said yes, as she had called her boss and informed her that the food was untouched. This was a lie, as I had taken small bites. Im so happy I took a photo of my meal to showd I didnt enjoy it (photo attached). My dad reasoned with Caroline & she eventually removed the charge. We paid / tipped & she returned with the phone so my dad could speak to the boss, who recognized him and confirmed their usual drink order. My dad said the owner and her son are nice people. I wouldve let it go if the charge had been removed with no issues or if I was allowed to change my order in the beginning. However, being lied about is what made me complete and share write this review. Guest experience should be a priority, but that seems to have changed. Im disappointed with my Fathers Day experience at this establishment. Retraining & new protocols for guest turn around experience are definitely needed. On the plus side, my dad & his girlfriend enjoyed their meals, and the pineapple mimosas were good. Overall, I rated the atmosphere a 3.5 for its cozy charm. Rated the food a 3 as my dad and his girlfriend enjoyed their meals but I didnt enjoy mine, also, their first round of mamosas were served with bottom of the box pineapple juice according to our sever & thats why theirs looked more like champagne & mine looked more like pineapple juice (the server didnt offer replacements for their unfinished drinks and charged for another mimosa instead). Finally I gave the service a 1 due to the poor handling of the situation by the server. I wouldnt recommend this place based on service, which unfortunately is supported by other one-star reviews. However, if you want to give it a try Id say go for it. Just do your research beforehand so you know what to expect. Response: 1. I didnt read the sides on the menu and ordered my usual French Toast & a side of sausages. The server missed the chance to inform me it was a single Polish sausage, which isn t typical at brunch spots. This should be confirmed with future guests who are not ABLE to read the menu. 2. I didnt complain about the food because Caroline already said Id have to pay for it regardless. Nothing would have been done based on the initial response. 3. To confirm,it was falsely stated the French toast was untouched. I tried it to give an adequate review despite the poor experience & I was willing to pay, but my parents insisted it was wrong to charge for it. 4. You should consider crowdfunding and financial literacy courses to manage losses better! 5. I didnt spend my entire time writing this review. I took notes to help Torontos hardworking people spend their money wisely.
Food was great. They were very busy so service was a little slow. Excellent menu with lots of gluten free options.
Busy, busy Fathers Day morning. But service was delightful and flawless, with all staff keeping an eye on all tables and keeping everything on point. Food was delivered hot and fresh, excess dishes cleared efficiently. Good operators make this look easy. It isn t. And it was a great way to start the day.
Nice food and great customer service from Carolina (:
Toast on bloor is a delightful spot with a homestyle feel the owner is wonderful gracious enough to introduce herself and share a chat. Menu is simple and straight forward had the montreal smoked meat sandwich everything is fresh and I look forward to dining here again!
Went there couple of weeks ago. Food was delicious.
The breakfast poutine is absolutely to die for, and gluten free!!! Its rare to get any safe poutine as a celiac let alone a specialty poutine. Really not a bad price too. The inside is a bit dim but still a nice atmosphere, and the outside tables are great in the spring. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available!!
Always friendly service and good breakfasts at good prices.
My husband and I had an amazing experience at Toast on Bloor and we had been served by Carolina. She is super amazing and friendly. She suggested us with different meals and we loved it so much. So delicious!!
Another fantastic brunch at Toast on Bloor. You are missing out if you haven t visited this gem. The pulled pork eggs Benny and the house made chips are not to be missed
Ive been here twice and the food was great!! I had a great time coming here with friends and that made it much better! The fries were really good I enjoyed it! Same with the chocolate chip pancakes!
I recently went here for brunch and was blown away by the exceptional customer service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made my experience truly memorable. Highly recommend!
This place is a hidden Gem on Bloor. Food is *chef s kiss*
This restaurant was a safe space for me after a rough day for that I m very thankful. Cozy pub vibes.
Great Service, Food and Atmosphere !! Thanks for making our event today perfect!! Food
Delicious! 2 out of 6 with a gluten allergy and we had the French toast and and egg wrap it was phenomenal. So many options for everyone. Pancakes, bacon and avocado toast YUM Service was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating ESPECIALLY with our 4 little kids. We are in from Chicago and found you online for GF Options so glad
Excellent food! Classic breakfast was ver good.
We are visiting from the US and fully enjoyed our breakfast! Gluten free French Toast was amazing as well as the home fries. Clean environment and friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options :)
Perfect breakfast spot!
It was my first time at Toast on Bloor. Someone told me about this place and honestly it didn t leave up to the hype. I had a great waiter, the mimosa was great too. But the food wasn t all that, it looks better in the photos on the website.
Service is always top-notch. Food is yummy. Well priced. Cozy atmosphere. Everything you want for a neighbor brunch spot.
Breakfast was great. Lots of choices. Good coffee. Decent prices. Clean eating area and clean bathroom. I enjoyed the experience and would go back.
Great food and great staff
My breakfast was good other than the fruit. I gladly paid $2-$3 to sub home fries for fruit and received 3 small pieces of honeydew melon and an orange slice so small it would go on top of a drink. More of a garnish than a serving of fruit. Definitely crazy to upcharge and get almost nothing in return. My partner got home fries and it was a generous portion. Would NOT reccomend swapping
Very good
Love this place, they have plenty of GF options and they re all well priced and delicious
Fantastic egg benedict with smoked meat
Delicious little spot
Amazing renovations and food.
As I was essentially ridiculed for making my first ever review a 1 star for this restaurant I gave it another try as I had to meet friends there , still a 1 star for this place, slow service, pre packaged hollandaise sauce (as a chef I can tell) another greasy spoon
I came here on Boxing Day with my boyfriend eager and excited to try a brunch spot in the neighborhood and was really let down by the server. I started by asking if she could tell me about the drip coffee, in particular what s the difference between drip and regular coffee and she looked at me like I had a third eye and said- oh are you serious? Ummm not much. I am Italian so to me Espresso is the best. Such a strange comment. I am sorry but there must be a difference between drip and regular coffee as there s a difference in price. Next she comes around and I said we are ready to order and she says we ll can I just take your beverage order for now it s busy here. There were only 4 other tables occupied. I could tell by the way she was communicating with them they were regulars. She than came around to take our order. The food did not disappoint. I even tried the house made sauce and it was delish. She collects our plates and quickly comes back with a debit machine. My boyfriend politely asks for an espresso and she says- no, sorry I just cleaned the espresso machine. I asked out of curiosity- what time do you guys close? She says 3 pm. I kid you not it was 2:15 pm. Your restaurant was not closed there was no reason not to serve my boyfriend an espresso and it s not like we were the only patrons at the restaurant. Again the food was delicious but the service was terrible. You really should train your staff on proper customer service. It s truly unfortunate because this restaurant is so close by but I will definitely not return or recommend to anyone.
Absolutely delicious
It is our favorite brunch restaurant. Always a good customer service, and food is always fresh. We go almost every week. We always order: Eggs b with pulled pork, salmon on rye and obviously the best bruschetta!
I ordered the poutine and it only had like 3 cheese curds lol .. but our server was wonderful
On the hunt for an alternative breakfast haunt, my wife and I discovered TOAST on BLOOR, a cozy dining establishment with an tantalizing menu. The atmosphere has a warm, intimate charm that invites long chats with friends or loved ones over a well-prepared, satisfying meal and a good cup of coffee. And it delivers. I had the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Meat, while my wife had the Smoked Salmon version. Both were tasty - rich and decadent hollandaise, with just enough of a side salad to cut through. And it would be criminal of me not to mention the home fries, crisp and well-seasoned - an excellent addition to the plate. But as I always say, good food and pleasant atmosphere are nothing without a healthy dose of good customer service, and the service at TOAST was excellent. Our server, Nicole, was friendly without be phony, attentive without being obsequious, and professional without being cold. I did find the promise of live music in the early evening to be intriguing, as the venue is small; perhaps thats a reason to return for dinner one day. But one thing is for sure, we WILL definitely be returning!
We dine-in at a All-Day breakfast restaurant for dinner this is our first visit. I ordered the Toast Egg Benedict, I was so disappointed. My plate did not look a all like the photos on the menu. The fries looks dried out and a tiny portion of salad (Not enough for a hamster) The Egg Benedict was pathetic!! It was not a good value. I can t say much about the service.
Great eggs Benny with salmon and chocolate chip ! Cute place with nice Saturday night live music.
I think I may have found my new favourite brunch spot. I got an Instagram ad in the morning and was so sucked in by the photos I saw that I decided to go in the next hour. This place did not disappoint. The vibe was cozy and friendly. I worried about getting seated quickly because it looked like it was a peak time. Luckily, I got in within a few minutes. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs (asked for scrambled instead of poached). Everything on the plate was so delicious and perfectly cooked. I especially enjoyed the potatoes, so I might order an extra side next time and share it amongst the table. I saw a review or two saying the portions were small, but I found it was just the right amount of food. I felt satisfied, not stuffed. If youre expecting leftovers, this place is more quality over quantity. Will I be back? Absolutely!!! Id love to try as much as I can from the menu. I think the owner was in when I dropped by, and it was great to see her working so hard amongst her staff and setting a good example for them. The person who served me today was also lovely. Thanks for a great first experience!
5 Minutes walk from the Islington subway station. Next to a few eateries, Toast on Bloor offers a fantastic diner experience. The food is fresh, portion size is great and coffee is amazing. The experience leaves an incredible taste in your mouth. Now as to why I felt it missed the 5 star mark for me. When my wife and I reached the place, it was packed but had a 4 seater table empty. However, they asked us to wait for about 15-20 mins for a 2 seater to be vacated. I am not sure why that was the case since 5 mins after we sat down they accommodated a 2 people party to be seated at at the empty 4- seater table. This definitely left a slightly salty taste in our mouths. Since this is our first time at Toast on Bloor, I do want to give them the benefit of doubt and visit this place at least once more and hope for a better experience next time.
Excellent and delicious food! Second time having food from here and both times have been amazing! The owner is nice also :) amazing service
Very disappointing experience. Really long wait after being seated for wait staff to come take order and then we waited far too long for our coffees . This is brunch people-should not have to wait 15 minutes to be brought coffee. When our meals arrived the items on my plate were vastly different temperatures and a steak that was supposed to be med rare was more rare to blue. The eggs were also underdone with the whites still clear around the yolk. I sent my meal back and as my two companions were 3/4 finished their meals I just asked for it to be removed from our bill (gives you an idea of how often our waitress came by). After all that didn t even comp a coffee (which sucked btw). Won t be back.
Loves this place! I will be back :) eggs Benny was amazing!!
Very good service by waitress! Good food and good value.
First time patron, 2 adults & 5 year old kid. Loved everything about this place. Great food, large portions, very reasonable prices, waitress was charming and efficient, management welcoming on the phone and Saturday afternoon music was delightful. Wonderful afternoon had by all three of us. Thats 15 stars, right! We will be back again soon. Thanks!
It is a good place, fast service and the menu has everything you expect from a breakfast place.
Must try
Came here to work on a Sunday morning. I had the toast egg benedict with a coffee and it was good. Service was also quick as well. A busy place but a great local spot for a quick bite.
Great breakfast, great service
Good food, good service, server was super fun and helpful.
Great brunch menu and service. Will return.
Great menu. Great food. Had breakfast on a Saturday morning. Want to try their lunch menu. Nice to eat local.
Food here is absolutely fantastic. always fresh. And so wonderfully presented. Small quaint restaurant. paid parking in area. live music Saturday afternoons. Wait staff are fantastic. Coffee is always hot and served in a nice big cup.
Dietary restrictions: Had a delicious gluten free bread option Food
Loved it, the service was fantastic and 5he food, right on point. Thanks
This was our first time visiting Toast on Bloor... Wow! Had to wait a few minutes to be seated as not too big. The breakfast menu was not overwhelming and we ordered pretty quickly. Servers were attentive and very polite as they worked as a team and not territorial over tables. A great team effort that truly showed when the meal choices was served up. This had to be one of the best breakfasts at a resto that we have had in years. Great experience & thank you to the team! Kitchen did a wonderful job with flavours through the ingredients they paired - Job well done!
Breakfast service good. Service was fast
Wonderful Brunch. Perfectly cooked eggs. Friendly staff, lively atmosphere. Very Nice!
I ordered the poached eggs with avocados. It needed seasoning, the avocado was spread on the toast like one spreads butter, or even less. Staff was nice but the food is not great.
Great brunch here! I tried their smoked meat benedict (one of the best hollandaise sauces Ive ever tried) and chicken quesadillas, super good & filling!! Loved their iced vanilla coffee! Amazing customer service & super fast service!
Great little place for a delicious breakfast. Service was good and the portions are pretty big.
Thought wed try Toast thinking that perhaps it could be a good breakfast place. It still may be but unfortunately we tried a lunch item instead. To be blunt: -My wifes burger was half filler/half beef, dry, and they forgot the onions and mushrooms (which perhaps would have been the most edible part of the meal). Arugula side salad was 95% arugula with a 5% mix of radish, cucumber and tomato thrown in) -My Chicken Club had a dried out chicken pieces, old hard bacon (perhaps it had been the same warming tray for 4 hours along side the chicken). Toast was basically warm bread which lead to a soggy sandwich because of the overabundance of mayo. The out-of-the-freezer-bag fries were were unevenly cooked and just plain dreadful. Server did offer a replacement lunch (I passed as I didnt want to wait 20 minutes) and subsequently she did discount one of the meals. Nice welcoming to the place too as you walked into a front bar absolutely flowing with dirty dishes. Needless to say that Toast is toast for us.
Super cute breakfast nook, we will be back for sure! Our server was so sweet and very welcoming. Food was great, perfect Sunday morning breakfast/brunch.
Amazing breakfast, would come back again!
It was ok. I asked for over easy eggs got them overhard. Our server was extremely friendly and since we were the only 2 eating I didnt care to make a big deal. I wont be back
Toast is our favourite breakfast spot in the area. This morning we had a seat on the patio. As always staff were friendly and efficient. The scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes were excellent...my partner loved her smoked salmon on a bagel.
Poor service, tables arent clean, food is average.
Really nice breakfast place on Bloor and Islington. My friends had the steak and eggs and I tried the toast breakfast. For drinks, I had the hot chocolate and my friends tried the coffee. Will definitely go back to try more dishes on the menu.
This place had me with the size of their coffee mugs Good and fast service, umm-so-fresh food, ambient atmosphere and so many options for all kinds of diets vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers and most of all, egg connoisseurs! What we genuinely loved Eggs poached to perfection, cheese omelette with add ons to suit your plate, avocado spread on toast that was just so perfect and most of all their Parents on caffeine sized coffee mugs (for the lack of a better analogy ). The salads too were very well done without too much dressing and yet drizzled enough to flavour up your morsels. The home fries were fresh and tasteful All in all, a really good place for breakfast and brunch Parking right out front, Entrance is wheelchair accessible Potion size was good for one person per plate/order High chairs available ~GoExplore ~HappyBrunching
Service is excruciatingly slow. Also, even though we came first, they gave our table to two white ladies. Not going back here. Be happy with your white customers. Ill be happy to spread the word of the thriving racism.
I hope one day they discover how mayo and other condiments help a dry chicken go down the throat and add it in. Water took 20 Mins to arrive on tbr table. The server had to be reminded of several items that were ordered but nearly forgotten. Maybe they were having a bad day. But why do I need to also face those consequences?
Fun spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Food was tasty and service was friendly. A great neighborhood brunch spot.
The food was delicious, but a bit on the pricy side.
This is my 2nd time here and the food has been fantastic but what made this experience even better was our server Elora! She s sweet, attentive and funny. Loved that she gave us the right amount of attention, suggested some of her favorite foods and made us feel super welcomed! Will definitely be back and asking for Elora again! Thanks and looking forward to the next late lunch/dinner at Taste on Bloor!
Delicious but pricey for pretty basic dishes..
Wonderful Alex and Azhar best ever potatoes... Wheelchair accessibility: Good Food : 5/5 |
Spectacular service and even better food. The staff are friendly and accommodating, we came in with a crying baby and the waitress automatically showed me where I can heat up a bottle and seated us in a very accessible area. Alex was extremely welcoming and friendly and the restaurant overall feels very welcoming and homey. We ll definitely be back! ;) ;) have the second one, asap!!!
Had lunch at toast today and Alex was happy to help Very friendly atmosphere will be back Food
Hidden gem !! Food taste great , fast service , great hospitality from staff! Alex was on point with helping us during busy lunch time and picking on items in menu .. I recommend this place for anyone that loves great food and a great atmosphere.. will come again for lunch cheers !!!
Perfect
Nothing bad to say, average food, good service.
Very good place for brunch on a Sunday, it was my first time and Im definitely coming back. Prices are standard, plenty of food options, great service,
Very good food and excellent service. The food is always consistent and delicious and the servers, especially my regular Elora, are attentive, cheerful and accommodating. I like that the menu is simple and that there are vegan options. Great neighbourhood spot.
Excellent food and the service from Sydney was excellent especially given how busy lunch hour was. She was very friendly and accommodating. The cuisine was excellent and everyone at our table loved their food. Great place!!
Cozy spot and great food. This is my spot for a nice weekend breakfast / brunch and could not be more happy. Nicole and Elora will make your experience, a great one, they are super friendly, attentive, and they care. Shoutout to them both. Also, they have live music on Saturdays for lunch/dinner.
Lovely wait staff but it seems like too much for one staff member
Really good food, and the waitress was amazing, very polite.
Food was great. Service was really quite poor.
The breakfast poutine was absolutely delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and came and talked to us. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. 10/10 I would recommend this place.
Great spot with a cozy atmosphere, good food, and service with a smile, very friendly staff
Very cute spot, but the food doesnt look presentable. Poor service as well Food
Always an excellent experience. Great value for the service and quality of the meal. Recommend!
Loved our breakfast at Toast on Bloor. The breakfast poutines gravy was finger licking delicious! And excellent service from our kind server. Highly recommend!
Delicious, fast, good service.
Staff was friendly and great service. However, my meal did not meet the expectation. Asked for over easy eggs, they were hard, bacon hurt my teeth to chew and skimpy on the fries. The place was empty when we ordered so the chef must have been having an off day. But was not satisfied as breakfast is an easy meal.
Many GF options here, I myself ran into concerns but Edited review to 5 stars as owner of restaurant did reach out. I love this restaurant and one day will hopefully return!
Got brunch here on a Sunday morning. Place is busy but the service was fast. We ordered smoked salmon eggs benedicts and a breakfast wrap. The serving portion is generous and food is simply delicious.
Absolutely delightful! Delicious food and wonderful service. Well be back again soon!
Finding a brunch place that has both great vegan and non-vegan options is rare, and Toast delivered. I had the Toast Breakfast, and the eggs (done sunny side up) were perfectly cooked and the Polish sausage was very tasty. My wife had the Vegan Southwest Wrap which was she said was also excellent. The menu clearly states what is vegan (or can be made vegan) or not and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely be going again.
Tasty food but found it little pricey
Enjoyed a really nice breakfast here. The restaurant is very clean and quite quaint. Friendly service. Their pancakes are the best that I ve had in Toronto so far! Would happily dine here again :)
Best French Toast ever! The smoked meat that was a choice with the Toast Breakfast was excellent. Also the best breakfast potatoes Ive ever had! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service was good and the location was perfect. Right near Islington Subway Station. Parking: Green P Street parking
Lovely little spot for all day breakfast. Can get busy during peak hours as there are not many tables, but definitely worth the wait!
I have eaten and I usually this but I did not have a good experience this time. Ordered eggs Florentine. The hollandaise sauce was made badly. Had a bad experience even with fires. I see that this restaurant has potential but maybe some spot check would help.
Amazing breakfast spot. The steak with eggs Benny was made perfectly.
Cozy local place. Whatever seasoning they use on their homemade fries, I want it all.
Gluten and Dairy free options. Loved it
I had a fabulous breakfast this morning at Toast on Bloor. My first time there and I will definitely be returning! I had the Toast breakfast plate and it was perfectly seasoned, and plated very well. Nice and warm on a cold day.
We are regulars at this restaurant and used to love it, however the last few experiences have not been good. Last few times we went the service has been really poor, with one waitress for the entire restaurant on a weekend morning. She did not make eye contact ever so to get her attention was very difficult. The last two times that we ordered the Benny the kitchen barely puts any Hollandaise sauce onto the eggs, it doesn t even cover the small egg completely. Almost 3$ charge for small side of extra sauce too - ridiculous. When we showed the waitress the amount of sauce on the eggs and the minimum amount in the expensive extra side sauce - she argued that it looks fine to her but she will ask the kitchen for more - never argue with the customer, either tell us you cannot give more or say sorry and bring some extra. Tried calling this morning to place an order, put us on hold for over 5 minutes so I hung up. I called back few minutes later and was sent to voicemail. Tried again 13 times within an hour period and always sent to automated message - wow! We are sad that our favourite breakfast place has gone downhill so much, likely will not be returning.
Great place for Sunday brunch! Alex and the rest of the staff were amazing!
the waitstaff (and manager/owner we met) were wonderfully attentive and fun to chat with and the breakfast poutine was ace!
Food was very good service was excellent, highly recommend try the smoke meat Benedict
Went for brunch on a weekday with my 4 month old baby. Carly provided excellent service and was attentive to our needs. There was even space for my stroller and the bathroom has a changing station- super helpful! Also, the food is very tasty and well presented (I got the eggs Benedict). I would come back again with my whole family. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Kid-friendliness: Space for strollers. Changing station in women s bathroom.
Went for lunch here with my mom today and it was great. Friendly staff, fast service and great food/portion sizes and prices are extremely reasonable compared to many other restaurants. Will be returning
Visited the city for 5 days and this was our favourite stop! Wow Carina was our server and she made us feel so comfortable Great food, excellent iced coffee:)
I come here at least once a month with my wife. Great options for celiac individuals. Everything cooked well with great consistency. Dietary restrictions: The menu has symbols indicating what is gluten free/vegetarian. Very helpful for celiacs and veg friends! Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. Very laid back and I look forward to bringing my little one next time I drop in.
Michael was very attentive and polite, food was great and TOB had a very nice atmosphere..
A go to spot for brunch
I had the pleasure of discovering Toast on Bloor this past weekend, and it turned out to be a hidden gem that exceeded all expectations. As someone who actively seeks out gluten-free options, this restaurant quickly became a new favorite. What sets Toast on Bloor apart is its commitment to providing a diverse and delicious gluten-free menu. The availability of gluten-free wraps and bread added an extra layer of excitement to my dining experience. The extensive menu caters to gluten-free enthusiasts like myself, offering a plethora of delightful options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Choosing a meal was a delightful challenge due to the abundance of tempting choices for all times of the day. Whether youre there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Toast on Bloor has an array of fantastic options that make decision-making a joyful dilemma. In particular, I thoroughly enjoyed the Classic Eggs Benedict on gluten-free bread an absolute delight that showcased the kitchens dedication to flavor and quality. Beyond the menu, the staff at Toast on Bloor are a standout feature. Their friendliness and helpfulness create an inviting atmosphere that goes beyond being just a customer. Its clear that the team takes pride in ensuring patrons have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. For anyone seeking a restaurant with extensive gluten-free options and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Toast on Bloor is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted with a diverse menu and a team of friendly staff who make you feel like more than just a customer. Im already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of what this incredible restaurant has to offer.
I went here for a work brunch. The food and service were fantastic. The server was very helpful and kept coming back to ask if we needed anything. I got their classic breakfast the portions were good and everything tasted great especially the hasbrowns. They also had good options for the sides including avocado. The prices were pretty reasonable for what we got also.
Everything was delicious, I loved the place.
The food here was good, but the service was meh. I got the toast breakfast and the way that the menu was worded came with hidden costs. It does not come with polish sausage, avocado etc. it comes with it at an extra cost that doesn t specify it on the menu under that specific item. I also asked for tomatoes instead of home fries. The waiter did not specify that that would cost extra. I just wish that there was more transparency. He took the avocado off the bill, but still it is concerning that customers are charged for things without knowing that it s extra.
Staff is ignorant and useless, place is small so if you have a group of people bigger than four, you are sol. I Will never go back as there are better places to go.
Arrived for Sunday bfast with party of 5, only one party of 4 ahead of us. Waited 20 minutes for a table but then they gave it to a party of 6 that arrived 15 minutes behind us and had us continue waiting 15 more minutes to be seated at a 4 person table and advised the 5th person cannot sit at the end of the table and had to squish between the others. If this was not bad enough, more than 5 more minutes past without even being asked for coffee/drink order... Finally gave up being patient with their incompetence and had to walk out after some of the absolute worst service Ive ever experienced. This place does not appreciate or value their customers and has no clue about how to operate a business.
Great bfast place!
Excellent breakfast food! Also offered regular lunch type food as well. Service though was ultra slow.
