Pearl Sushi in Etobicoke

Food wise? Mediocre. Deep fried sushi was soggy. I paid $30 for sushi in this place. I wouldnt come back. They only accept debit and cash and their machine ask for tips even though they dont have a serving area or a server.

Pearl Sushi is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing and its a short walk to the lake to sit and enjoy my lunch outdoors. They are super friendly and kind.

Honestly this is arguably the best sushi I have ever had but they are SO STINGY with their soya sauce. I ask for extra every time and instead of giving me a couple more, she takes the small container and gives me a slightly bigger one (which is still not enough). You would think I was asking for gold their way they hoard soya sauce.

One of the best take out places in Toronto. Would of been 5 stars but the price is slightly high and the service is average.

I expected 4+ review sushi but it did not taste good at all, they put one tiny napkin for a big tray, food was greasy and the fish didn t seem fresh

Ive been trying to get back to being active this summer after the pandemic and Ive been going on 6-7 km walk/jogs right past Pearl Sushi. I stopped by to grab dinner and ordered 2 classic Maki rolls. Super delicious and fresh. Way better than grabbing sushi at Metro when I get a craving. Pearl Sushi is now my treat if I can keep my active streak going. I stopped by again on the 28th around 8pm and the owner was super kind, made my rolls and even gave me a free spicy salmon handroll . So very kind of her. Made my whole week. 10/10 will jog here many more times!

Below average sushi. The quality of fish is poor. There are so many better places in Toronto, I would not come back again.

The best sushi Ive ever had. I often come here whenever I have a sushi craving. Although its on the pricey side its definitely worth it! I usually get the double spicy salmon and it s fabulous.

Salmon lovers was very fresh and tasty! Walk in chicken teriyaki special we enjoyed as well! Chef offered some hand rolls which were nice!

This is a long standing favourite. Family run, fresh, clean and healthy food w fantastic presentation every time. The sashimi is heavenly, melt in your mouth options you can either let them select or choose your own. The sushi rolls are super filling. Their miso is better than most dine in restaurants Ive been to and I always order their edamame. Their attention to detail is excellent. Dietary restrictions: You can make requests to alter some of the menu to suit your needs

Have ordered a few times now, food is very fresh and delicious. Can t say anything bad. Every time we have waited have also gotten complimentary snack while I wait. Very lovely and generous owners.

This location is incredibly convenient for take out or grabbing lunch to take on the bike trail for a picnic. Their rolls aren t cheap but always good and start at $10-$12 for specialty rolls. Their bento boxes start at $14. Sometimes I get 2 or 3 rolls or a bento box for variety. My partner really enjoyed his fantastic lobster roll and still talks about whenever he s craving sushi.

My favorite Sushi place. The place is small so it s for take out, but they also deliver to the area which is very nice when you have a long day and don t want to pay the fees of Uber eats. The sushi is always fresh a and delicious. If you can t eat something they can change it by request and the price is fair. 100% recommended.

Fantastic Sushi!

Unfortunately writing a negative review for this local spot. Ordered a love boat today with various nigiri. Was about 1/4 through when we had a foul tasting piece of salmon. Tried another, it smelled and tasted foul. Had to spit it out. My son tried a tuna sashimi and had to throw it out because it tasted foul. For the first time in my life, I called the place to inform them. The told me to bring it in. I arrived and they told me that we had eaten too much and that we couldnt be reimbursed. There were about 25 pieces left. Not only did they not apologize, but told me that the salmon was fine because no other customers had complained. I feel gross after eating there. Mostly disappointed with their customer service. On a plus note, their cooked gyoza was fine.

3rd time visiting, two other times before covid. Today (Aug, 2022) was the third. Still great hosts, I came by bike and wanted to eat in. While I was waiting they gave me a salmon cone as a snack. They refilled my bottle with iced water. Food is lovely as always, had the salmon favorite. When you come here and decide to eat in or around, expect a welcome as if you were a guest in your extended familys home. Parking: Parking in front and down the block, should be no problems. Theres same large stone blocks to sit on if you want to dine in but outside.

Another neighbourhood legend. The key here is quality and value. The chefs principles are to give you high quality sushi and massive amounts of it. Come early to pick up your take out order because chef brian sometimes gives you a free handroll while you wait.

Primary ask for sushi? Fresh. Never had an off order and staff (seems family run?) are always friendly even if the place is busy

Picked up a 58 piece maki tray today October 15, 2022. The website doesn t tell you what s included but I pretty much eat anything Japanese so don t really care. I just don t want cheap cucumber roll or yam roll. I am glad this tray doesn t have cheap boring rolls. The raw fish they use is good quality. You can taste some chewiness in them. They don t have fish smell at all. If you are okay with raw fish, this party tray is quite decent. I was hoping some Eel in the tray. Lol. I love those. If you are looking for quality party tray, Pearl sushi is decent. Check them out.

We are been living in the neighborhood for years and always noticed it Pearl sushi but for some reasons never went. We decided to give it a try yesterday based on all the good reviews Bryan took our order. When I went to pick it I was pleasantly greeted by him, and as I paid he told me to wait one minute. I prepared me a little cone with crab and and avocado as a little gift to try and handled to me. So not only the service was awesome but when we finally opened our food, it was gorgeous! Not only you could eat it with your eyes but the taste and freshness of our plate made justice to it s presentation. Will definitely go back and actually this will probably be our next sushi spot!

Popped by this place to pick up sushi to eat in the park. We ordered their Sushi Salmon Lovers B platter. Amazing! Rice is perfectly cooked. Portions are generous. Reasonably priced. Very tasty! Worth going out of our way to pick up sushi again. Highly recommended. The place doesn t look like much from the outside but the food Is phenomenal.

Wont be coming back, 1/4 small container of tempura sauce for 9 pieces of tempura. Called up to see if maybe a mistake but zero feedback or any kind of help from staff/owner. Perfect example of a small correctable mistake blown off by uncaring management. Now after 7 years of eating here it is my last time.

Best sushi I have ever had! The cash deals are amazing. I only go here now. I go with the homies at least once a week. They take all my money and I don t even mind. Sometimes I get surprised with a free sushi roll, it s not all the time but it s a nice gesture and tastes delicious. The lady who works there is kind and invites me and my homies in with a warm friendly smile. Eating in the car in-front is such a vibe. Many good times spent this summer here.

Excellent sushi, they do the fundamentals really well and are very decently priced! Fish is always fresh, ordered many times throughout the pandemic and even asked to make rolls off the menu which they were able to accomodate. Loving supporting our local businesses, definitely recommend!!

Order via uber eats yesterday Jan 11, 2020 and while I was eating I noticed that my dynamite roll had soy sauce on SOME pieces (they never put sauce on it cause I ve ordered from here multiple times). I woke up throwing up and ended up with food poisoning.......... They gave me old pieces of dynamite possibly from someone else s food that they were going to throw in the trash. Will NEVER order from here again. I never review places but I was such a frequent customer, I m so disappointed and hurt. You guys lost a loyal customer. WATCH OUT.

Amazing sushi! Wish I couldve gotten a picture but my boyfriend and I devoured the entire platter! Highly recommend the green dragon and black dragon! Cant wait to try more of their menu! Also the portions are fantastic!

My favourite sushi spot. They always give me a complimentary mini sushi burrito. My go-to order is the veggie green dragon roll (vegan) and agedashi tofu. Their sushi pizzas are fantastic as well. Great service and the nicest people :)

First time in this place. The whole set that we got was far from being fresh. The rice was so sour and dry that it was impossible to even eat it. Everything except the avocado was not fresh at all. Ended up throwing everything in the trash. Not coming back for sure.

Best Dynamite Roll I ever had... I also had a hand roll, so fresh and delicious. If you want no frills but authentic good quality Japanesse food, Pearl Sushi in Toronto is the place...

Unfortunately, the food had no flavour. The special roll was $16 and had no taste at all.

Wow, honestly one of the best sushi places in Etobicoke! Not only are the staff super sweet but the food quality is excellent. I really appreciated that the manager knows me by name & even remembers my order (I always get E2 combo 10 piece). Highly recommended! :)

Original Post: 5 Stars - This is my go to take out place. Not only because its close to my house, but also because its great food at a decent price. Update: They increased the prices anywhere from 23% to 45% per item (my bill was 32% more than I used to pay). Unagi roll increased 45% ($5.50 to $8), caterpillar roll increased 23% ($13 to $16). I understand that costs need to increase and Im fine with that. This is just a huge increase overnight. I still love the quality of Pearl and I love supporting local businesses, I am just shocked by the steep increase in cost. Also, the prices online are not updated, which is partly why I was shocked to see my bill at 32% more than I was expecting.

Small place with only 2 seats. Best for delivery and take our. The staff was very friendly and nice. Lots of options and variety. Great sushi and sashimi.

Much better places within 1km. Tried this place a few times and was disappointed. I dont get where 4.5 stars comes from? Sushi was not fresh and had a fishy smell. Ordered various rolls (dragon rolls, diablo roll, basic rolls and sushi) over 3 occasions because we wanted to like this place but found it was very pricey for the poor quality and lack of freshness. The rice was like paste/mush and really tasted like vinegar. Wed rather walk over to Krazy Roll or order from Hatsu Sushi - 100% better, fresher, consistently great service and worth every penny.

UPDATE: the restaurant has changed owners just over a year ago. Since that time, their prices have skyrocketed well above inflation and the food quality has declined. Several people I know, including my wife, no longer like this place. The original owner has moved to Scarborough to open up shop there. I guess nothing good lasts forever.. Been going to this place regularly for almost 2 years now. Ive been to many sushi joints across Ontario, and this is hands down one of the best in the province. Phenomenal food, service, and prices. They are so fast when it comes to having your order ready.

Food is delicious and the service was fast. My husband and I just came back from our honeymoon to Japan and craved more sushi. We were expecting some level of disappointment but was pleasently surprised that the taste and texture was very comparable! Highly recommend =)

First off I have come here for years and always had great sushi... unfortunately I just finished a very disappointing dinner. Not sure what happened to this place but was sub par today. -Tempura was a overdone reheat with very thick bready batter closer to pancake mix. -Maki roll was fairly mashed together and unevenly cut to give a very sloppy presentation -wasabi very mild... Not like the usual kick I was used to from Pearl. -dynamite roll was meh.. filled with same pancake tempura and didnt have the usual avacado top... Basically it was a California roll with a peace of Popeyes deep fried shrimp in it. I will have to inquire if this is under new management. Too bad if it is in which case I wont give another chance. Toronto has many options and higher standards for sushi for a restaurant to pan out such sub par at this premium cost for take out store.

Great spot! Lots of options and the staff is willing to make recommendations or substitutions based on allergies/preferences. Only took about 10 minutes to prep $40 of sushi. Its packaged really well for transit so grab your food, walk down to the lakefront, and sit on a rock while you enjoy your delicious fish.

I never ever leave reviews for any restaurants, but this one holds a special place in my heart. Been going here for 4 years and never was the sushi not fresh. I always get philadelphia roll and they already know my order as soon as I come in, which is so nice and it makes me so happy! The guy who works here is so sweet and always asks me a lot of questions about my job and school! Thank you so much for great sushi and amazing service!

Since the change of ownership prices have gone up and the quality have drastically dropped. How can you serve sushi and not have fresh fish? If the fish smells fishy it is not fresh. please do not continue serving you tuna if its not fresh.
