Loved this little hole in the wall cafe. Staff was super nice, food and drinks were yummy and they even gave us a free scone at the end of the day. Highly recommend to stop in and spend some time in this gem of a cafe. :)

My husband and I had a really enjoyable morning here, we got coffees, breakfast sandwiches and the banana peanut butter scone which were all delicious. There was a good amount of seating and I loved the decor and natural light. The only thing we didnt like so much was the pumpkin spiced chai which was too sweet for our taste.

Nice coffee shop in the city center. Interior in European style. The service is friendly. The coffee is delicious. The toilet is clean. Of the minuses - you are not given a spoon for cappuccino and cookies as a compliment from the establishment. It s a pity that there are no cakes and nothing special to buy for coffee.

Highly recommended it, they have about anything you need from a café, went here for a brunch and the experience was great, only probably I had, was pricing, but it is a high class establishment and I would definitely come here for a coffee date

The coffee was delicious, the pastries were very yummy, specially the chocolate chip cookie. The staff are very friendly and so nice. Due to a misunderstanding they gave us 1 coffee and only charged us for the 1, when we initially ordered 2. After I waited for a couple of minutes and told them we wanted 2 coffees, they gave us the other one for free and didn t let me pay even when I insisted!

Always greeted with a smile no matter how busy and my Americano is always extra hot.. Molto cibo Grazie !

Visited this spot, and they told us they were no longer serving any food at that time of the day, so we ordered 2 drinks. While we waited, another customer who was seemingly a regular based on the conversation they were having, walked in and ordered a sandwich just weird and kind of rude to decline some customers but then serve someone else right after- perhaps it was a one-off but maybe be a bit more discreet about it? Drinks were decent but the atmosphere rubbed me the wrong way.

It was delightful to find a charming coffee shop in this lovely town. I thoroughly enjoyed their unique coffee blends. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was truly inviting. Very nice and unique blend of modern and classic with an interesting vault to sit and have your coffee in. The drinks and cookies were very tasteful. We had pistachio cold foam iced white mocha and a white mocha with chocolate chip cookie. Staff was pleasant

I have come to revise an old review from back in past ownership of the Vault, in which I did not have great experiences. I am a local who had stopped visiting all together, until I heard new ownership had taken over. Since the new owners took over, my experience has completely turned around and this is a place I now love to go! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, food and drinks are great, and there seems to be so much up and coming!

Its a beautiful Cafe, im not sure what brand of tea they use but its fantastic. Saw lots of people there playing cards, its a relaxed, eclectic environment

The employee at the counter refused service to the woman two ahead of us. She had an alternative look, but there was certainly nothing outrageous about it. She was told that the kitchen was closed. The conventionally looking couple behind her asked for hot food from the kitchen. The same employee served them with a smile and put the order in. We walked away in total disgust.

I love going to the Vault. The atmosphere is very chill, and the food is pretty good. An area to improve would be portioning and service. Some food portions are adequate but most drinks are quite small. While the servers do their jobs, there just isn t the feeling they enjoy it or are happy to interact with customers. It sometimes feels like I am annoying them or putting them out if I ask for something or order something more. Just a little feedback. I still love this place.

Hello!! Popped in for an americano and a treat for my trip to the airport. Ive been in a few times. Coffee and goodies always impress. I prefer the new brew. Im also impressed with how calm and competant the staff remain even when serving difficult customers. Well done!

Dropped in for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was not busy but it should have been packed because the food and service were top notch. Good little local beer selection. The servings were a good size which is something missing at most places with good quality food these days. Drinks, a shared app and mains for 2 was still under $100 with tip. We will be back!

We have been enjoying coming to The Vault for a coffee or tea over the last year, but we were especially excited to try their new dinner menu and let me say it definitely did not disappoint. We made a late reservation so we enjoyed a quiet meal enjoying the ambiance of the space. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband a cider. We had a hard time choosing what to eat because everything sounded so good but we landed on the Smash Burger (upgraded the house salad to a Kale Cesar for $3 more) and the Carne Asada Tacos. The food came out fairly quickly and the portions were very generous. The burger was hands down the best burger to date I have tried in CW. It was incredibly juicy and flavourful without being greasy and the tomato jam was the perfect accompaniment. I always love a Kale Cesar and this one was great - the crunchy chickpeas and thick cut bacon added great texture and salt. The tacos were excellent - the meat was perfectly cooked and flavourful and both the salsa and cilantro lime cream were delicious. If I had a single comment it would be that I wish the tortilla was warmer and the steak was served hot, but it was still great. We finished the meal off with a piece of Pear cake and the Italian buttercream was simply divine. You dont want to miss this new local spot for dinner!

Im not quite sure what this place is trying to be. Me and my significant other go in quite frequently for the coffee. Were sometimes greated by a rude blonde lady that makes the room uncomfortable, but we put it aside because the location is great. I wanted to order off the usual menu thats written out up high above the cashier counter where you pay. We arrived after 4pm to relax and sit down to enjoy a coffee, bagel and soup only to be told that we could not order that food because theres a different menu after 4. A place called Vault Cafe is now a restaurant? Okay. We sat down and just felt awkward being at a cafe trying so hard to be a restaurant. The staff are very polite and are very welcoming (Minus the blonde woman), but I have a feeling they werent originally hired for a restraunt like experience, you can just feel it in the room. Its just weird how youd rather lose out on a 40 dollar bill of a coffee, bagel and soup because that menu is irrelevant after 4. Why not just combine it with the restaurant menu? It literally makes no sense to do that. If youre going to do that you should write that this food is unavailable after 4 on the board or just get rid of it completely passed that time. Very misleading and very awkward environment now. Oddly, we werent even sure if we were even allowed to just sit down and enjoy a coffee as we felt like we had to get dinner to be there.

Unfriendly staff !! And not just once, but four times now. Dont smile, dismissive, and make you feel like your inconveniencing them. The fritatta was a barely warmed up tiny tiny piece of spongy egg, that had wet dog after taste. The toast had a tiny dime size circle of butter in the center, with no attempt to spread it to the edges (had to request a side of butter) The soup they gave me as a free of charge replacement had a hair in it. So for the very high price, and 4th chance at this place...I have to give a big thumbs down. I had to pick one star in order to type a review, so Ill make the one star be for the decor and ambiance.

Gorgeous Cafe. Fantastic Service. A beautiful gem in the quaint town of Fergus. Easily located being perfectly situated on the corner of Downtown Fergus. The atmosphere is captivating and inviting from its picturesque exterior doors to the bright and airy interior. Comfortable seatings and a lot of visuals to keep your eyes busy (brick wall, high windows, secret back door, gorgeous display of baked goods). We enjoyed their brewed coffee, breakfast sandwich and savory scone. A large list of coffee and drinks as well food menu and treats. The staff were friendly and attentive. A must visit.

A great place to meet family. The cran brie sandwich was the winner but the Mediterranean Salad was hard to beat. Thank goodness the tiramisu was small portions. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. Free parking right outside their door.

This last time I actually double checked I was not walking in before they opened as they seemed annoyed that I walked in. After saying good morning twice with no response or even a smile I ve come to realize the staff is just rude. It s a shame because the food and drinks are good but unfortunately will not be returning

We got to this coffee shop a few times a week! The food tastes good BUT the customer service is terrible! Everyone there is so unfriendly and seem bothered that we re there to eat like we are inconveniencing them.. They never smile, they are always so serious and seem bothered that we are there. Very disappointed in their customer service. We have instead been going to the Lost & Found cafe in Elora. Totally different experience at The Lost & Found:) Highly recommend it!!! It s such a shame because we used love going to the Vault but their customer service makes it a terrible experience:( They should hire different staff!

The people who work here should really take a lesson in customer service. We had an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience with one staff in particular who was rude and had a bad attitude right from the get go. The owner attempted to resolve the issue but taking your rude employees side when you werent even there to witness her behaviour is not a good start. Seems like the bully is controlling the place. Food was just ok as well, def. not worth it.

We ordered lunch for a small work function and everyone loved it! Everything we got was super fresh and the portions were larger than expected so we even had lots left. Mandy was great to deal with and the delivery option was definitely convenient. Cant wait to visit again!

Usually we love it here. Today however, (Monday) the patio chairs were not out. I was here with my wife, dog, and baby. Because the chairs were not out I went in and asked if I could have my dog there. They understandably said no. I asked if we could sit on the patio as we intended. Her response was well are the chairs out? I said no, so she said well then no . How disappointing. Good customer service would have been to put 2 chairs out for us to accommodate us with our dog on this warm and sunny day. Very upsetting. We left without purchasing anything. Will not be returning to this cold atmosphere.

I love this building, its a great space. We have enjoyed stopping in Fergus at the Vault since it first opened. There has been a big change though in quality of coffee. My alternative milk was so searing hot, the latte had zero foam or life to it, which is always the case it too hot. Someone needs to do proper Barista training for all employees making lattes etc. It really makes a difference! My husbands latte was also searing hot. After 45 min. it was still quite warm. If we had time we would have returned them. Love the locale, the product needs improvement!

Visited Saturday morning at 8 am. First customers . No good morning, no thank you, no smiles from either staff member. The food was just plopped down on table. No enjoy. No smile. With the high cost of dinning out you think there would be some effort to be pleasant. Will never go back .

All I have to say is I hate more than anything is to have to order food, sit down to eat and complete with flies when eating the meal I just paid for. Disappointed and disgusted.

Elora-tonian here. Vault has an amazing location, beautiful decor and decent coffee. However, their customer service has gotten worse and worse over the year to the point where my partner and I have stopped going. I double checked if my latte was actually an latte because it was pure white filled with milk with no coffee - their response (in the most condescending voice possible): yes? What else would be. Alrighty then. Such a disappointment

8am we walked in. No acknowledgment from either the 2 ladies. No warmth and happy to see you. Absolutely nothing from the lady making our Lattes! Lattes lukewarm (should have returned them for fresh ones), Toilet not been flushed, and cannot have been cleaned because there was no paper hand towels and an old one on the floor. Not impressed.

Cute little cafe in Fergus, ON. The coffee is very rich and I would return for the coffee alone. Lattes arent bad either, we also tried the breakfast sandwich, made with maple bacon. It was tangy and sweet, I prefer my egg to be a bit more runny than served. But overall a good quiet spot with good coffee you can come to with a book.

We came in looking for food, was told the kitchen was closed :( didn t really care but then someone came in right behind us and was offered food. We are tourists so it may have been discrimination but not entirely sure what was up with that. Latte was good, but Certainly won t be back

Good place for coffee and scones and croissants but that s it. The food is very Meh. The tomato basil soup is basically a bowl of heated up pizza tomato sauce. The quinoa bowl is dry and largely flavourless. The grilled cheese is very plain. The turkey sandwich was so cold as if it was just freshly thawed out. Just drink coffee and scones there don t eat anything else. When they run out of main ingredients for their meals they don t bother telling you they just serve it without those ingredients. Plus it s always freezing in there.

Coffee & espresso is on point, using Monigram Coffee Roasters from Cambridge is a bright move. Was able to share a delicious scone and a cup of coffee here with my wife while we were in the area. Coffee was amazing and the scone (lemon and ginger) was a treat. The atmosphere was also truly unique. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping in and seeing for yourself.

Such a cute and spacious coffee shop! I got an iced americano, which was great. There are large tables inside and it was quiet when I went, so I think it would be a great space for working/writing. The baristas were nice. This cafe also has a little boutique in the back.

We stopped in for a midday drip coffee and a snack. The menu was full of great treats to try. We had some cookies, lemon pound cake and a tasty energy ball. The store was bustling and the staff were booting around to keep everyone fed and happy. We ate outside and enjoyed people watching. Great coffee and tasty treats. Fantastic drinks across the board. The food menu is small, but every item on it is incredible. The restored turn-of-the-century design gives it a lovely vibe both for just chilling out and meeting friends. They have a few games available if you want them, and locally made items available purchase in the vault itself. Id give this a higher rating than 5/5 if I could. Im from out of town and this was definitely one of the best small-town local cafes Ive been to. Ill be stopping by again the next time Im in the area.

Lovely gem of a cafe. Loved the coffee and the snacks we bought. The bread is yummm. The cafe has a section where you can buy artisan food products. The furniture has a classy feel to it. Homey and elegant. Service is quick and efficient.

This has been my go-to spot for years, however, once they closed and reopened under new ownership, things went downhill. The coffee is decent, and the baked goods are average. The issue I keep having is with the service/staff. Theyre far from friendly and were even rude at times. I thought maybe they were having an off day, but Ive tried to come back twice since then and received the same attitude and displeased disposition from the staff. I really tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but I overheard staff being curt with other customers as well. Its an uncomfortable environment - you feel as if youre inconveniencing them. The cherry on top was hearing them loudly complain about customers after they had left. Makes me wonder what they say about me after I leave. Its a real shame because the location is great, and the inside is absolutely gorgeous. Aesthetically, its one of the nicest cafes Ive frequented. I have hope that not all the staff hate their lives and are occasionally kind to customers, but unfortunately, Ive yet to experience it. This could be due to the owners attitude, or maybe they need a change of staff. Im hopeful that with some extra training and kindness, they can return to the positive environment once fostered here!

Visited Vault Cafe on our day trip to Elora. Excellent place to have a lunch, coffee and desert. Fresh pastry and friendly staff. Will recommend to all our friends.

Although it s an extremely cute shop, with a pretty substantial menu, it leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are short with customers, and almost rude. I try to be kind, because I never know what kind of day they ve had, but it was not reciprocated. I felt as if I was annoying the cashier by ordering. The worst part is due to a not solid lid, my tea spilt all over my hand and arm. It actually burnt my wrist, to the point I needed Tylenol and a cold compress for most of the afternoon. I was sure there was a legal limit to how hot a liquid can be? Overall, I was really hoping to love this place and instead I was extremely disappointed and in pain after visiting here.

Had a nice light lunch there on a Wednesday. Food, staff and ambiance were all very nice.

Visited Fergus for the first time as part of our one day outings to visit towns along the Grad River. Fergus is smaller than a Elora but worth the trip and Vault Café is definitely worth stopping in. We enjoyed lunch, coffee, scones and cookies. All perfecty delicious served by very nice staff. This Café is as good as any youll find in the GTA and better that many. Well worth a visit. Vegetarian options: Vault Café has very delicious and creative vegetarian salad bowls.

Was in town for a Medieval Festival and stopped by for a drink. The staff were friendly and efficient. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating had a few tables and was separated by a low barrier from the street and was in the shade so felt cozy. Not a large selection of iced beverages, but lots of different flavor shots for the coffees. I had an iced mocha. Would recommend. They also have a hibiscus iced tea which seemed popular (I dont like hibiscus). There is a small store area inside with preserves.

Excellent place to grab a lunch and some brew. Sandwiches are awesome. Nice place with good vibe. Nice bathrooms.

This is a very relaxing location. You are not pressured to leave, nobody is interrupting you all the time.. I really like this place.

Great americano, delicious scones and they also serve wine and beer. This is my favourite kind of café. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would gladly come back next time Im in Fergus.

Edit*** Went to the Vault Cafe today and was disappointed by the food. Ordered a couple of scones and a pesto chicken sandwich, along with two drinks. The drinks were the blue watermelon tea and it was a refreshing drink. The scones (dill and cheddar/basil) were dry, cold, and not very pleasing. The chicken and pesto sandwich was an overpriced ($15) and lazy attempt at a sandwich. It was very small, had limited chicken, lots of pesto and greens, but two whole sundried tomatoes that should have been cut up because they were not chewable. It was also pretty dirty inside today. It was not like that before. They gave us plastic drink cups because they didnt have any clean dishes. Grab a coffee, check out the vault (its pretty cool still), and go get food elsewhere. Very interesting cafe with wonderful staff. They all seem so genuinely happy to be there and the atmosphere is unique. Where else can you see a vault and go inside?! Definitely recommend a stop in here if you are ever in Fergus.

Great place! The quality of the food is excellent. Definitely a Fergus gem. It s a little on the expensive side but what isn t these days. The building is very charming and clean, you can tell the people and owners know and love what they do. I highly recommend!

Dont get me wrong. Its a lovely place but customer service and forgetting my good order is a bad. I order a salad and waited half a hour. They Said I forget to add it in our system. They made me pay for it again..... This place avoid

A review from a local! I admit I was worried when I heard it was switching owners, but Im happy to say that the Vault is just as good as its always been. Their new breakfast and lunch items are really intriguing and the indoor atmosphere is still relaxing and a good place for studying and work.

I visited the Vault Cafe Bar twice for coffee + a meal/snack, once with another person and once alone. Both visits had different staff. Bottom line, I felt judged and unwelcomed (I wasnt the wanted customer, I figure). Baristas surely are aware whose cold and whose arrogant; owner Id say to hire and/or train baristas in genuine eye, word, and smile exchange (i.e. proper customer service) for all patrons to receive. Nonetheless itll be Tim Hortons etc. over the Vault for me from now on!

Great customer service, and the sandwich I got here was unique and delicious. Also, the interior and exterior design is wonderfully done, which is what interested me into going inside.

Fully open now, and their adorable patio is in full swing. Go for their coffee and breakfast sandwich!!! The best cafe scones in the area that I have tried so far (moist and fluffy). Love the vibe in this spot. It s great to see people sitting at the picture window conversing again-post Covid

What a beautiful, upscale, modern-heritage cafe! It reminded me a lot of a spot in London I love - very comfortable. The retained bank vault is a really cool addition. The tables are comfortable and nicely spaced, offering a great place to meet a friend or catch up on emails. The staff was very friendly and despite being busy both my drink and food arrived quickly. I ordered a Chai Latte with oatmilk and it was delicious. Not too sweet or too much cardamom.

I stopped in for a quick coffee and a bite to eat. Their medium roast was delicious with a full body taste. I also ordered the cranberry brie chicken sandwich on a fresh croissant. Must say this was tasty fresh and very filling.

Crushing it folks! Scoop is our #1 fav and the Vault is up there now too. Date night here before taking in a show downtown Fergus and was not disappointed. The seasonal gingerbread latte.. and of course anything on their dessert menu of any kind.. dang, they know what they re up to. Highly recommend

Amazing spot. Had the Brie grilled cheese and tomato soup, it will knock your block off.
