Terrible, I will never go again

Stopped on a Saturday evening for a quick take out order, nothing complicated. I was told the wait would be 15 minutes or so. I asked after 35 minutes and was told the food is coming. I recieved my order after 45 minutes, a rediculous amount of time for rice and noodles. As Im waiting, I got a good look at the cleanliness and maintenance of the front of house at China 8. This place is filthy! In my experience, if the customer facing section of a restaurant is not clean and well maintained then the back of house is worse! Maybe, the owners should have their staff do some cleaning instead of sitting by the cash register playing on her phone. The food was good and fresh but I dont like taking chances with food borne illnesses so I will not be returning!

Ive lived in two different china towns in Toronto and China 8s food can stand with any of the restaurants there. Portions are huge. Quality is outstanding and the prices are surprisingly reasonable.

We treat ourselves often to this great food. It never disappoints in quality . We buy enough for two or three days and it s no problem to reheat. So much choice. A friendly take out place just 5 minutes from home and food usually less than 30 minutes to ready. Due to family with Covid we have had to postpone our Lunar New Year feast but as soon as everyone is well we ll be ordering again. Kung hei fat choi

I tried the veg pad thai. When I first opened the container it looked like a bowl of shredded carrots. I tried to mix it a bit but it was a glob of glue. Turned out to actually be noodles but they were orange coloured, not from sauce - because there was none, it was so dry. Also there were NO vegatables. This was THE worst pad thai I have ever had...and unfortunately paid $12 for. This has put me off and sadly I wont be returning.

Always hot and made to order, even when the allergies are extremely specific. You know the service is personalized ( or you order too much ) when the owner can pick up the phone and know you by name. That type of small-town service doesnt happen much anymore. Weve never had a bad experience. Parking: Located in a strip mall, beside a major grocery chain. Wheelchair accessibility: Can be accessed relatively easily by a wheelchair.

I have bought take out from other China 8 restaurants in Hanover and Port Elgin. The other locations give you 2 side dishes along with the rice. Here you get rice and your side and thats it (plus an egg roll). The rice was supposed to be chicken fried, looked more like a curry and the pepper stake was bland. Worst China 8 restaurant! And more expensive too!

Great Chinese food. Very standard Chinese-Canadian style stuff. They raised their prices for the dinners almost 20% across the board. Not cool but I guess prices are up everywhere. Otherwise fast friendly and tasty.

We really enjoy the food at this provider. Not so much coating. The food is prepared fresh when we come in, the cost is reasonable, and you get a lot more of a serving. Very friendly staff and the store is very clean.

I just found this place and have had it twice now and its both delicious and prepared on time. Personal favourite is the General Tso chicken combo and the steamed dumplings. MUWAH! . Can be split easily for two adults on one meal or 2 for me! Price cant be beat.

The food was really good and the dishes a good size. I think there was good value for the money. This is the first time we ordered from this restaurant as we were visiting a friend in Elora. We would order from them again.

We ordered at around 5.20 they said it would be a hour now it s 7.30 and still no food I phoned and canceled it was long they called back to said he standing at the door we looked no one was there he probably had the same house and the people that called were very rude never eat there again

I think the food is super good however the girl answering the phone is always rude and short.

Lots of easy parking. Clean establishment. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. If you want vegetarian food, they are happy to provide it. The food was tasty for the most part. The spring rolls are really good, mixed vegetables good and the pad thai was okay...Id like to give that dish another try. Sorry I cant help with meat dishes. Overall i would recommend them. They are fast too.

They have amazing and big portion sizes! They always give me extra soy sauce packets and fortune cookies as well! The food tastes great and the staff are very kind everytime I come in! They are one of my favorite Chinese food places to go to.

Foods good sure but right now they have no measures in order to keep social distance standards and they are very disorganized when it comes to whos order is whos. Ive been waiting 30mins for my order that I placed over 90mins ago. Plus the customers waiting also dont understand social distancing and well you cant fix stu.....

Food tastes good although the portions are small. But, twice eaten here and twice my insides badly rejected everything the next day.

Literally the best chinese food we have ever had. Ive never heard my girl make noises like that. (No, seriously though, the BEST chinese food ever!) Wish we had it in windsor.

Even if you dont like Chinese food, they make the best chicken wings at a great price. Tried delivery tonight, was told 25 mins, the food arrived on time and very hot. Our takeout order was ready quickly and service at the cash was extremely friendly. I liked the 10% discount for paying in cash. We had the lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, house special fried rice, Singapore mein feng, shrimp chop suey and Szechuan style pork. Every item we ordered was delicious. Half way through our meal I turned to my husband and remarked that it might be the best chinese takeout Id ever had. Thats how tasty and fresh it was. I would highly recommend this restaurant and there is no question we will become repeat customers.

Best Chinese food weve had in years! We read the reviews and had our fingers crossed that this would be a good take-out. Well we were not disappointed!!! Truly, weve been looking for good Chinese take-out for at least five years. Couldnt find any in Guelph or Barrie and definitely not Fergus, but now we have. Yay! Btw, we had all veggie dishes, rice, noodles and tofu and spring rolls. All yummy! All fresh. Big portions and excellent prices. Cant wait until lunch to have leftovers from last nights dinner.

Wow this was really good chinese food with lots of variety. Prices are on par with other Chinese restaurants around. They need to add their menu to their website. The menu is in Google maps buts its hard to navigate. Lemon chicken: really good, but a little soggy if left in the container for a while Cheese wontons: these are tasty with cream cheese and crab meat inside. I would get this again. I have had better but only slightly. Would get this again. Hot and sour soup: Wow tastes good and spicy. If you are a mushroom lover, this is a must have. Never had hot and sour soup with mushrooms, so a pleasant surprise. Fried dumplings: just ok, nothing special. Sweet and sour pork. Comes with sauce on it and is really good. Chicken wings: actually better than I expected, so would get them again. Spring rolls: not great, wont get again Egg rolls:. Good, will get again. Chicken fried rice: good amount of chicken and veggies in the rice and rice was very soft. Will get again.

I absolutely LOVE Chinese food, its very rare that I find a Chinese food restaurant that I dont like....but this is by far the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The 1 star is for the sheer convenience of it being down the road from me, however, after trying it for the first time it could right next door and I wouldnt orders from them. My family and I order at least 100 of food every time we get take out, we called...placed the order and they told us 10 minutes or less. To me, 10 minutes is a little quick...I cant even get mac and cheese ready and to the table in 10 minutes...lol. I could go into detail about each dish, but Im not going to...I will just say this. Mushroom fried rice should NOT be bright yellow

Ate here for the first time last night, very tasty, quick food. Flavourful and not greasy, also big potions and good price! Highly recommend :-) I hope they keep up the high standards, about time the fergus area got a decent Chinese place!

We ordered take out last night from China 8 in Fergus because we heard good things online. The portion sizes are great and they seem like really great people that work there, customer service was great. However the spring rolls were terrible, they were more like Thai spring rolls but that aside the flavour and smell was terrible. My husband and I both couldnt finish them. The broccoli beef mix looked good but smelled and tasted bad as well. Im not sure if its a different spice they use. The chicken balls were mediocre and the sauce had very little flavour. The fried rice was probably the best part. Disappointing for sure we were really hoping it would be great.

its good food for what it is. fast service, great customer service and big portions will guarantee a nice full belly. they have a lot of the typical white bastardized chinese food though, but for a small town like fergus its the closest thing to chinese youre gonna get.
