Great pub atmosphere and decor! Food was tasty - had the chicken Cesar wrap and fries and my husband has the fish and chips. Portions were large. Will be going back!
A gorgeous pub with a fantastic atmosphere. The bartender was a great guy, super polite and took good care of us. The menu was a good size and had lots of delicious options. They have a good selection of beers on tap. We had a great experience at the fergusson room. There are two different restaurants in the same building use the door on the right if you are looking for the fergusson room.
Our server Kelly was very personable and able to give great recommendations. We had the Perogies, Schnitzel, Bacon and Brie Burger as well as the creme brulee. All were delicious. Very fresh and well prepared. Happy hour made the prices great as well.
Delicious food, amazing service. My husband had a ribeye steak… medium… cooked to perfection (never seen this before). They were glad to accommodate all children’s requests for their hamburger, which included olives, onion and bacon. I had the fish and chips: one piece was more than enough. We visited this place during the Medieval Faire, so it was nice rest in the ac for a while.
It's a good place, felt a little expensive. Service was a bit slow in my opinion. But the vintage scottish vibe and the great food made up for it. Recommended if you are in the area.
They ran out of a lot of food we tried to order. Otherwise everyone was friendly and the service was quick. Food was decent, steak was good
Cute, cozy and fun atmosphere. Been there four times and it has never let us down. Last time they had oysters on special which were a delicious treat...but their pub fare is a cut above the usual.
I recently dined at a charming restaurant that surpassed my expectations. The service was friendly and welcoming, making me feel at ease. The restaurant wasn't busy, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere. The brisket was incredibly tender, a true highlight. The burger was good, satisfying my craving. The historic-looking location added charm, creating a unique ambiance. The staff accommodated our walk-in party of six with ease. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience worth recommending.
Beautiful place, with the most delicious food in town. Highly recommend
Nice place, service is good but cant say the same for the fries. It was a little burnt.
We love to come here. *Always* amazing staff and delicious food.
Great food! Great atmosphere!! and Excellent service!!! Thank you for making our night a great experience
The food wasnt that great, got the fish and chips. The place was cute tho
Food was amazing and service was outstanding! Definitely going back next year when attending the Highland Games.
Great spot, burgers handmade and are so juicy.
I recently had a very disappointing experience while picking up an order for delivery. The front desk staff was extremely unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome. Despite my role as a DoorDash driver, I was treated disrespectfully and had to wait much longer than necessary for the order. The behavior felt discriminatory, which is unacceptable. This experience reflects poorly on the establishment and makes it difficult to recommend.
Food was just okay nothing special. They gave my partner burnt fish and chips when we brought it to their attention they didn t even said sorry. The host that was attending us cared nothing about us he was a bit rude. Moreover, we had to wait 10 minutes for us to be seated as nobody bothered paying attention to us. And to top it all off, except one lady hostess everybody was a bit racist, they were acting different and friendly with other s and totally bit racist towards us. All the hostess literally did not even bother looking towards us cause we were definitely looking out for them. Would not go back here.
Great food, pleasant service, good place.
Nice spot in historic Fergus. It was our first time driving through it.
What an amazing pub. Food was astounding and so was the staff. Such an amazing experience as our first trip to Fergus ON. I had the fish and chips and most of our party had the Sheppards pie. Both were out of this world good.
Best fish and chips in Fergus, Elora and Guelph. Portions are amazing and the service is fantastic. We don t miss Friday fish and chips special. Try it for yourself!
Ordered takeout last night, never been to the restaurant befote but thought wed give it a try...we were not disappointed! We ordered the Pierogi and the Bangers and Mash, both were made fresh, nice portions and very tasty. The service when I went in was lacking a bit, the girls at the bar stood and chatted a bit before asking if I needed anything, and I had to ask three times if I could get a drink while I waited for my order. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy, definitely a place I would like to go back to for a sit down meal. We really enjoyed the food and would like to have a fine in experience in the future.
Excellent steaks, a little pricey for what you get though. Staff were a little rude
We have visited this place to have some lunch but unfortunately we did stand for a while not body even asked if we needed to be seated or not. The waiters passed by many times and we left.
Attached to the Breadalbane Inn and easy to access. Staff were friendly and the food was great!
Quickly becoming a favorite spot of ours. Always great food, more than fair portions, wonderful staff and great location.
The food here is fantastic. Best burgers anywhere. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There is a reason why this is a hot spot in Fergus. Even kid friendly for meals. Kid-friendliness: There was a particular blonde server who was amazing when my daughter accidentally tipped her full drink all over the table and was upset about it. This server was right there, cleaned it up quickly and even made my daughter smile. I don t know your name but thank you, your kindness is appreciated!!
Good place. Great service and atmosphere. Good food.
Spent the weekend at Breadalbane Inn and enjoyed the Fergusson room Friday and Saturday during our stay. Food was great and service even better!! Staff were friendly and created the atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Lovely pub atmosphere, great beer selection. We can t wait to come back.
Great, wonderful back drop, the menu was perfect! Sat at the bar and had a delish pint of Creemore then ordered the Triple Brie Bacon Burger and fries. EXCELLENT and yummy! Bar tender was social and on point. Good food! Price point was as expected and worth it, $20-$30 for the full belly and a pint!
Good selection of beers Good food Friendly staff Food : 5/5
Great cozy location to settle in for a bite to eat and drink. This pub is exactly what youd like for in a town like Fergus! ages of lore and stories, warm atmosphere and good service. My only take away was the food has never been something to brag about. if youre coming for a burger and a beer, it will do the job though. Ill be going back to try some more menu items and see if I can find a hidden gem.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch. Something we had been meaning to do for a long time since buying a house in town. Unfortunately, one issue that would have been cheap and simple to resolve or fix ruined the entire experience. Wife ordered a mushroom burger. I ordered a bacon burger with cheese. Decided to spend the extra on the (always overpriced everywhere.) gravy option. Dont do it often, but hey, its a date we dont go out often. Lets get the gravy. Got our food, and the fries are so overdone that they snap. A little frustrated, we eat our burgers and wait for the waiter to return. Hows the food she says? Burger seems great. We only got one of the two gravies we ordered, and the fries are really overdone. (As I demonstrate a snapping french fry) We both laugh she grabs a fry attempts to snap herself laughs, and says Ill bring this up with the kitchen right away and Ill come back with the gravy. Comes back with gravy informs us she told the kitchen and... nothing? No fallow up, no replacement or reimbursement. Nothing. Finished our burgers, got the bill 10 minutes later. Never ate the fries or gravy we paid extra for and still left a tip. Dont know how expensive it is to replace fries, but honestly, I cant say we have any intentions of going back, so probably pretty costly not to replace them. Service staff was great to talk to, and we all shared a good laugh about the issue. Whatever supervisor/manager dropped the ball on fixing the issue in the kitchen really ruined the whole experience by not correcting the issue immediately. I spoke up about the issue pleasantly with a bit of humor, and its not on me to tell them what is or isnt the appropriate corse of action in this situation.
First time trying this restaurant out today. Phenomenal food ! And giant portion sizes. Can t wait to go back.
Great spot for lunch! The poutine is awesome and it is just as good the day after as leftovers!
Ordered takeout and it was excellent! For my taste they have the best wings in Fergus and now I can say Ive tried them all.
Excellent and very enjoyable.
Excellent lunch .
Awesome waitress and very good, crispy chicken sandwich was very good! Nice addition to the menu
The fish was overcooked and I was sorry with my choice. I have had great meals here in the past but this night was disappointing
This is a great pub! Finished work and was looking for a good place to have some food and a drink. I had Michelle as a waitress and she did a great job of serving and recommending dinner. I got the beef brisket and it was better then I anticipated. I definitely recommend this place!
This used to be our go-to spot, and it wasnt uncommon for us to go twice a week. We were known as regulars and had rapport with pretty much all the team members. Weekly specials were a great offer and we often enjoyed wing or burger night. This week we went in for a Sunday lunch. Our server/bartender was spectacular as always, friendly and fun to banter with. We had French Onion soup and 2 pints of Guinness each. The soup was delicious and exactly what we wanted. The bill was another matter. This place has raised its prices exponentially in the last year or so. While I know restaurants have to cover rising food costs, the increases here seem excessive when compared with other places in town. Were now up to 10-dollar pints and the total for two soups and 2 pints each was nearly 70 dollars not including tip. Theyve had many editions of the menu recently and have struggled with supply chain issues, but one memorable edition of the menu incorporated price hikes by not-so-cleverly hiding the old prices under liquid paper, most of which scraped off with use. In all, while we still enjoy the occasional trip to our local, were spending a lot of time elsewhere in town, largely due to value for money. Vegetarian options: Available and most dishes seem to start off vegetarian now, adding any protein as an upsell. Parking: Street parking available on two sides, large parking lot across the road is also used. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcomed freely, kids meals are available.
We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were excellent.
Good beer selection. Large portions and great food! What else can you ask for?
My go to pub in Fergus. Well above pub grub by a country mile.
Jody accommodated 14 of us very well! We were a mix of Vegan, Vegetarians, Meat eaters & a kid. All were taken care very well! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent Scottish pub with nice atmosphere in a super quaint town near Mennonite country. Loved the Bangers and Mash and the Poutine was excellent.
The worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. I am leaving this review immediately after leaving the restaurant. They had my party of 6 wait over an hour and a half for 2 burgers, nachos, and calamari. We arrived at the restaurant and ordered and while we were there, two other groups sat down. Nobody got any food while we were there. The waitress was very kind and understandable and explained to me how its the chefs first week and the chef is preparing food for the restaurant next door as well. So they were getting food and we were getting absolutely nothing for over an hour and a half. The waitress assured me the food would be worth the wait and how the chef makes a great burger. Unfortunately, this could not be further from the truth. For $23+tax and after waiting nearly 2 hours, they presented me what looked like a slider with a small fry. You cant even see the beef. I felt insulted just looking at it. There was MAYBE 3oz of beef and it was mostly just bread. We didnt get the nachos or calamari in that time frame either. I decided I was going to pay for my pint of beer and go eat else where because this establishment clearly did not respect my time or money. The strangers sitting next to us, who were waiting there for their food for over an hour, expressed the same dissatisfaction we were. We decided to ask them if their water tasted like beer. They said yes. Our 6 waters and their 4 waters all tasted like beer. Ive never been to a pub that had such a bad problem with WATER. In hindsight, we should have ran for the hills after tasting how awful if was. After a long day out on the town, this restaurant left an awful taste in my mouth and all I had was their water. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR TIME OR MONEY. There are businesses out there that respect you. This is not one of them.
Waited 2 hours for appetizers to arrive, the water tasted like beer, the burger was a childrens portion, and the food was clearly frozen. So I left after paying for my drink. The waitress was a sweetheart and she deserves a raise. I dont know why the manager didnt come speak to us.
Just sad. Water tasted like beer .....Waited over an hour and a half for food just to be served a mediocre frozen burger that cost $23 + tax. Paid for drinks and left. Dont waste your precious time or money on this place. The manager was to scared to even come to the table after. Only bright side was our server was nice.
Service was excellent...food and ambience was great..will be back
One of my favorite pubs in the Fergus/Elora area. They have a wide variety of pub foods made with various tasty ingredients as well as a nice bar to socialize and watch a game with your friends or even just chat. If you ever head to Fergus then the Fergusson room located in the Breadalbane inn is an absolute must see.
Stay away from this restaurant. The staff are extremely rude. My friend was accompanied with her service dog. The waitress did not acknowledge service dogs and they refused to understand the laws of a person with disabilities and service dog. The waitress yelled and banged on the table saying you wanna argue?! We decided to leave. We were so embarrassed by the staffs rude behaviour. We felt like they were racist.
Surprisingly rude attitude As soon as we came in to grab a place to sit, a middle aged blond woman (server) told us we cannot sit inside with our dog. My wife told her she is a service dog and showed her the certification. The server told us that she would have to check with her manager about the policies. And we replied saying that the laws governing service animals negate any policies from all establishments. After we spoke to the manager, and explained the laws of service animals, the middle aged blond woman lashed out with a loud voice as she said Do we really have to do this? Do we really have to argue about this? At this point we were embarrassed in front of all the guests and decided to leave since we felt personally attacked. Do not give this restaurant your business
Very rude staff. Terrible management. This restaurant does not respect people with disabilities. They are racist and arrogance towards other people than Caucasians. I was refused to be seated at the restaurant with my service dog, even though I have presented the service dog certification. Please do not support such behaviour.
This is a great pub. Menu is appealing and the food was very good. Atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. Kelly, our waitress was awesome. We ll definitely make this one of our go to places.
We went there for the first time and the service was excellent even though some people were making a scene about their service dog which was a dog in a stroller. They were offered a place on the patio but that was not good enough for them .The waitress was excellent and we will return despite the rudeness of some customers
Always a great place to eat
Super nice food and great Atmos.
Too many flies buzzing around the table when we were eating. Otherwise good food and service
Good food great service, nice atmosphere with reasonable prices
Had the Monday night burger special. Great burger, fresh delicious salad
It was a random choice as we walked around Fergus. We were positively surprised. Excellent atmosphere, delicious food, fair price. We recommend the Schnitzel! The sauce that accompanies the dish is wonderful!
I miss the haggis here. Shame they removed it from the menu.
First / last time visiting this location. My wife and I called in for fish and chips - half hour wait time. We specifically asked for light on the batter plus coleslaw. When we picked it up the male waiter was friendly and rang our bill. Container was piping hot. That s where the good part ends. Fish itself was cooked but as soon as you exposed the fish from under the exterior batter you could clearly see batter wasn t cooked and yellow. Chips themselves were under cooked as well. Took the order back in our original server didn t even ask / approach to ask anything. The waitress who did deal with situation then ran into mechanical problems with refunding meal as machine stated that the refund exceeded limits. It may read as over 4 star location but truthfully it s far from it. Won t be back.
Overall great experience, had the Angus Burger, Fish and Chips and Wings all the food was fresh. . ..our server Kelly was amazing
Awesome place, great people, good food
Great food and service!
Very positive and chatty waiter and fresh IPA local beer on the tap.
A lovely little spot for a great meal, excellent beers, and catching up with old friends. I had the steak and ale pie which was the perfect size, delicious, and came with a nice salad. Wonderful service - attentive yet never obtrusive. Cant wait to go back!
Great place to unwind or watch sports in a nice and cozy environment.
Really nice pub and great food
Another delicious spot! Got the Shepherd s Pie with a pint of beer and came out steaming hot! Add on top, the greens were great! Service was quick and easy.
Been here few times great place great staff. Didnt like the fish over cooked. Did offer me new dish. Kinda turned me off of the meal. Everything else I ordered has been good.
Neat little pub/restaurant in a beautiful old stone building. Great service, atmosphere and beer selection.
Great local haunt. The schnitzel is a must.
Always our local go-to place for great food and cold drinks. Also love the old pub feeling.
Excellent food, beer selection and staff. Tracey is the best
Excellent bangers and mash, ribs and Shephard pie.
Our 2nd visit to this gem with all its charm..the food was absolutely delicious..our server Rachel was very kind and friendly...Highly recommend this restaurant..looking forward to going back
This used to be the best restaurant in town however since the pandemic the food quality has changed completely.
Good place to stop for a pint
Really 3.5. Sat outside but waited quite awhile for server. She was lovely but I had to ask her to wipe the obviously dirty table before giving us menus or placing our belongings on the table. Drinks came quickly but again we waited quite awhile for our meals. Only one server for the patio and one person bussing. Food was very good. BUT: other tables were left uncleared and dirty. One poor couple sat at a table where the cleaning spray and nasty rag was left behind!! The gentleman sprayed and wiped his table!!! Even after getting their drinks neither the server nor the young woman bussing removed the cleaning supplies perhaps management needs to take a closer look at the training/supervision of staff.
Great food, great service
Nice quite patio, great service and food Vegetarian options: Theres a few Parking: Lots on street and a few businesses lots ( we visited on a Sat and the businesses were closed) Kid-friendliness: Seems so. A few tables had kids Wheelchair accessibility: No
Meal was decent and the service was lovely
Excellent food, will be back Wheelchair accessibility: Level ground
Beautiful and really delicious room the atmosphere was different in an amazing way youll enjoy it recommended
Amazing place to eat during the pandemic, they are so amazing with there safety protocols, with the plexiglass shields in between the tables constant sanitizing, the staff are super friendly it s almost like a second home whenever I go
The food and service was outstanding! Highly recommend.
Amazing food and service!
Pre COVID this was one of our favorite places to eat out in in Fergus. We now have had 3 take out orders in a row that we have not been happy with. Customer service is horrible, nothing offered for screwed up order, had to ask and even then they were very hesitant to refund anything. We will not be returning.
Great spot, awesome service!! Had the yummy beet salad! Beets shouldnt have been pickled though. Garden salad was great and chicken wings were good, cooked perfectly, should have had more flavour though. Reasonable price, free parking. Again service was excellent.
Mix up with reservations but made a seat for 6 available so very accommodating. Food was good not great.
Awesome place, tasted so good. The ambience of the patio is so friendly. Work can be done on the cleanliness though, there was spider all over. May be this is due to just opening after lock down.
Great friendly service. I had the Monaghan Burger. It was pretty big and pretty good. Was craving a burger for about a week and it hit the spot. Their bbq sauce is amazing. Nice selection of beers too.
We are so disappointed in this place. We were out at the beach for the day and this place came highly recommended from friends who have been before. Upon arrival at 3:40pm on Sunday afternoon we were told we would served drinks but not food. The kitchen was understaffed and they were waiting to accommodate the people who had dinner reservations .they had no time for walk ins! The bar had loads of food ready to be picked up for take out but there was nothing for our family and the couple in front of us. Sorry! We won t be back. What a bummer!
Great meal as always. Highly recommended.
Good spot in Fergus to gran a bite and have driks. Ordered Burgers, really good, juicy at the point that at the secondo bite it all fell apart. Too bad. They have weekly deals. Good variety of pub fares.
The small town pub character with such a cool atmosphere was awesome. Loved this place twenty years ago and its just as good today.
Very friendly staff with excellent food and service. Loved the schnitzel
Great food with gluten free options.
Always great staff and service!
What a great date night/lunch spot, the ambience is amazing to go along with the great service. Recommend the sweet potato fries, wow, so good!
Best food ever big portions. Fish and chips to die for. Worth the drive
Great pub with really tasty food and wide selection of beers, located inside a very old hotel building.
One of my favourite classic places to hang in Fergus!!
Good food, great service and good selection of beer
Burgers and service were great.
This might sound stupid but their chicken strips covered in the honey garlic sauce just hits differently then anything else.
food was delicious and service was great! Patio was perfect!
Great service
Ok, nothing special but nothing bad either
Great food and great service!
Flat, warm beer and waitress didnt even bother asking if I wanted change.
The Fergusson Room/Scozia restaurant is Fergus premier steak house. Great place to go on a date night or to celebrate an occasion with the family. Has a nice warm, inviting atmosphere with tea lights embedded in coffee beans at every table. Has a bar area for the boys to check out some sports(in the Fergusson room)and have a drink after dinner. The ladies can too, not just for the boys. Everything on the menu is good, you cant go wrong with whatever you order. The service was great and our waitress was just the right amount of attentiveness. I got the rib eye and my mom got a sirloin. Both were cooked perfectly and the sides were great as well. If youre from the area or just visiting this is a restaurant to check out for sure. So come on down, sit and relax with some good company/food at the Fergusson room/Scozia restaurant.
Best pub in Fergus. Friendly service, very good meals and a wonderful craft beer selection.
Great atmosphere in a beautiful historic building on St Andrew. Burgers steak wings ect. Always very good.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food but small portions and the mac and cheese didnt really have cheese.
Great Cobb Salad. Slightly different from the norm but delicious
Always great food and service!
Best homemade burgers in town
This is my go to place to eat out in Elora and Fergus. Wonderful gastro pub. High quality food, great professional staff and very reasonable prices. Locally sourced ingredients. If you feel like Italian food go next door to Scozia.
Thank you for a wonderful lunch. Great staff and fast lunch turn around. I had there amazing Pork Schnitzel. Great local drinks on tap. A must try if your in the region.
The burger was delicious & service was outstanding.
Really good Mac and Cheese with Chicken Nice pub
Wonderful restaurant. We love going every time we visit Fergus. The best schnitzel ever! Excellent service and ambiance. Very welcoming. Thank you.
Yum
A great atmosphere, friendly staff, cold beer and delicious food! Highly recommended!
The best place in town! Amazing food and great service. Nice homey feel as soon as you step in the door. Something for everyone here. Extensive beer and liquor selection sure to please anyone.
Great food and a great rustic atmosphere. Definitely would come back
Food and service really great.
Great food, great place nice stuff. Very friendly, love the patio, people are amazing there
We chose this place for dinner due to ratings but our experience was disappointing. We were told the wait for seating is 30 minutes but actually was close to 50. Apparently the kitchen was behind because it was also handling a wedding party next door at Scozia. WTH? So the Fergussons patrons play second rate? Then folks who called ahead were seated before walk-ins. Best to inform diners this at the get go. My bloody Caesar was fantastic! My husband said his roast duck was very good. My sheppards pie was on the dry side. The venue is nicely decorated and cozy but well probably pass next time around.
Charming, delicious food. Will go back again to sit on the patio
Very disappointed in the lunch special (not enough food for the money )
Always a good place to come, both their food as well as their drinks are good. Nothing too fancy or over the top but the prices are good and their menu selection is plentiful. Very cozy and you feel right at home every time you come!
Good pub. Food was good and service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Love it
Just funny everytime I have been there same table.
Great food, comfortable feel and atmosphere. Lots of options on tap as well.
Great food and great service!
Delicious food, perfect portions, friendly staff.
Went to the Fergusson room for the first time and it was awesome. The atmosphere and vibe is really cool and pub feeling. I got the Angus burger and monger cheese with Caesar salad and split a poutine with the gf. The burger was think as a brick, thick and juicy. The poutine was huge and had lots of cheese curds. I also got a few pints of Belgium moon and orange slice and was smooth and delicious. The staff and service was top notch and quick. We will be going back to try other things on the menu.
Food was mediocre and arrived lukewarm.
Top notch burger, loads of beers on tap. My favourite local watering hole.
Love the wings and schnitzel ... We keep coming back
Fantastic food!
Lora makes dining a real pleasure,,
Good....friendly staff. Fish and chips were good although skimpy with the chips and coleslaw. Good atmosphere!
Quite possibly my favorite establishment in Fergus.
Waited 45 minutes for this average tasting dinner. Overall, poor service and mediocre food.
Excellent food, great beer selection and good patio!
Real British Beer, though the chips were the usual fries.
we have been there a couple time last night my wife got food poising from the hamburger they were also out of mills st on tap
We have been to the Fergusson Room (Pub side of Breadalbane Inn) several times, but the last couple times we have received poor service and food that is not at their usual standard. Our last visit found the Fergusson Room lacking in beer (they were out of five different brands on tap) and when we finally found one they had it was poured quickly with beer slopping over the glass and delivered to us with a thud. The food that night was also poorly presented - burgers on a soggy bun and about 40 minutes late. We did not expect this type of service as the Fergusson Room is usually a pub that has consistently good service, food and drink. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them, hopefully our next visit will be better.
