If you want to get a seat, Id recommend you call in and book ahead as its harder to get a seat when you just walk in. This place is a million times better than yes. The pricing is worth it any day,the quantity is perfect, and the service was great. The only thing is the looks on the inside, dont let it fool you...its worth it, in my opinion.

I go here for lunch once a week because I work nearby. I often get rolls and miso soup but today I only ordered rolls. I have laryngitis so barely have a voice and sound terrible, and when I got back to my desk I saw she had added a complimentary miso soup to my bag. So sweet.

Easily one of the best Fergus restaurants and the best sushi I ve ever had

I called to place a take out order and after taking my order, the person on the phone told me it would be a 2 hour wait. I needed to ask my family if it was okay to wait that long, so I asked if I could call back. The person on the phone told me they would hold my pick-up time for 15 minutes. After calling 4 times and not getting through, I finally got through before the 15 minutes were up and asked to put the order through. The person on the phone then told me they gave my spot and we would have to wait another 20 minutes. I understand theyre busy, especially on the weekend, but they told me they would hold my spot and then didnt. Kind of ridiculous. The rolls are overpriced and frankly, the sushi is not very good. The rolls are loose, messy, and challenging to eat.

This place is surprisingly good, and one of the best sushi places Ive had. Thought the prices were a bit high but turns out I just ordered way too much, the portions are very large.

First time getting sushi from Ikiru and it was phenomenal. The sushi rolls were massive, and made very well. Everything tasted super fresh and was made to perfection. The amount of ginger and wasabi provided was amazing. If you are looking for a sushi place, look no further. We have found a hidden gem.

I always get an avacado cucumber roll because this place consistently makes the best Ive ever had by far. They make their own sauce in house that sticks the rice together and its amazing. Ive never had bad sushi from here. The only thing I wouldnt recommend is the miso soup which is a little tasteless in my experience. Vegetarian options: The AC roll is amazing

If youre looking for fresh, high-quality sushi youve found the right place. Also, the tempura is crisp and not over battered and their unagi donburi is as good as any Ive had. Skip the ubiquitous and forgettable all-you-can eat sushi restaurants in KW and Guelph and take a trip to Fergus instead.

I had a very tasty yam sushi roll (cant remember the specific name for it). Very filling and worth the cost! The service was great and the seating area has nice booths. A convenient spot to stop in for lunch! Recommend!

Have had 2 meals from here, both have been okay. On both occasions, there has been significant limitations on their menu due to their tempura offerings not being available. This has actually led to two other occasions where we simply didnt order. Food is good, generous portions, good perceived value. Just disappointing availability on more than one occasion.

Let me just preface this by saying that the food is normally delicious here even with the fact that I have quite high standards for sushi and used to work at a sushi bar in Toronto. The Albacore Delight Roll in particular is absolutely amazing! That said, the hours are terrible and they really seem to be understaffed for the amount of volume they take on. The last time I was here with my mom pre-covid, it took us almost twenty minutes to have our order taken and then another 50 minutes for that food to arrive. Oftentimes if you call for takeout the wait time will be multiple hours. I will absolutely be back in the future because of the meal quality, but just keep in mind that they are typically understaffed and not equipped to handle it.

The sushi itself was OK. Vegetarian sushi was good, hubby has the spicy crab roll and it was 95% sweet potato so he was disappointed by that. A tip for the restaurant, when doing take out orders, put the wasabi and ginger in a separate container or ask the person placing the order if they want it. I have ordered sushi through the pandemic a few times at different places and always had the wasabi and ginger put into a separate container without even asking. I got it from here last night and didnt even think about it, when I got home 4 of my rolls were touching the wasabi, I tried to eat them anyways but it was way to spicy and I could only taste wasabi so I had to throw away 4 rolls.

Love their sushi but whenever you call they don t take orders or the order will be ready in the next 3 hours.Never experienced this kind of service. I understand it s COVID time but how can you possibly tell your customer that we can no longer place an order around 5:30 and the closing is at 8 pm. Very disappointed :(

Used to come here a lot for their unique sushi appetizers but they are long gone :( Wanted to return to try their new offerings but I really wish they had a website with their menu and some way to place orders besides just over the phone. I dont even know what their menu is without driving down to see In person.

We have been happy customers at Ikiru for over ten years. Our kids have eaten sushi as some of their first foods, and it is always the #1 request if we are getting take-out. The owners are wonderful people who care about their customers, the food, and your experience. Quite a gem for a small place like Fergus!

Amazing! Every thing we ordered was so fresh. There was so many rolls to choose from we didnt know which ones to start with. So happy we have this little gem in fergus to go to.

The sushi is just so good, the prices are extremely reasonable, the wait staff is friendly and prompt. My only complaint is the dining area could use some freshening up, but dont even let that stop you from visiting here. You wont be disappointed.

We ordered takeout on one of the busiest restaurant days of the year, and everything was delicious! I placed an order just before they closed for lunch to be picked up that evening, which I highly recommend doing! The only blip was that the person who took my order told me that they would call 10 minutes before the food was ready, so we waited around a bit and never received a call! We went in and unfortunately our food had been ready for a bit already. Thankfully the taste and quality were still amazing, and we will definitely be going back!

Good food, fast service, a bit pricy compared to the options in Waterloo / Guelph, but if you dont feel like making the trek to the city its totally worth it :)

The best sushi you will have this side of Toronto. Very authentic - and always fresh. This is a hidden gem in Fergus; and we are lucky to have them as a restaurant. I have enjoyed every meal I have had here and have sampled the majority of the menu. I will continue to visit weekly. Six star rating if I could !!!!!!

I called for take out yesterday Thursday Sept 3 2020 and they unfortunately were closed but their message stated that they would be open the next day. They are only doing take out during Covid and their dinner opening stated they are open 4:30 pm -8 pm. I called tonight at 5:20 pm for takeout and when I went to order I was told that they are not taking any more orders for tonight....really?! On a long weekend in the summer and theyve only been open for an hour? Not impressed......one customer that will not be supporting local but will be going elsewhere for sushi.

It s very unfortunate...I had great experience a while back. Thought I give them a try to order take out for a party, even a day early. Yet, all we got was you cannot order this sashimi platter with that combo. So many restrictions, how do you run a food business that by literally telling customers you cannot order things off of the menu. Your lost, there s definitely lots more places out there. Can t even try to support local business #failed

Excellent quality. Like all good sushi, its not cheap. If you want to save money, go to the supermarket. If you want the real thing, come here. Someone complained about the price; in my experience $25 per person is not expensive. I can eat $40 by my self. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

Despite being the only Sushi place in the area, the food is really fresh and tasty and can compete with the best of them. Friendly staff and nice owners ensure that my experience has been top-notch on every occasion.

Despite being the best sushi Ive had in Ontario, it is very modestly priced. Owners and staff are very friendly. Street parking only. Take out is available. Highly recommended.

The quality of the food is average. Nothing we ate was spectacular, nor was any of it inedible. The service was slow and inattentive. Had to ask several times for drinks, and still some never came. Just meh.

Sushi is amazing!! Only wish they had a better selection of dumplings and hot sauces.

It was ok. Soup only had 2 pieces of green and no tofu. Daughter ordered 2 different rolls they only brought 1. Wont be in a hurry to go back. Server was very nice though.

Great sushi - lots of great options. Rivals many of the best spots in Toronto IMO. This is the real deal - A Young Japanese couple owns and runs it and does an amazing job, with excellent attention to detail and quality of their craft. Decor could be improved, but hey it s all about the food here, so don t come looking to be blown away by the tables and chairs :) Great spot, I come as often as I can. Arigat gozaimashita!!!!

This place is extremely overpriced we have 9 people and the bill was 240 bucks. I wasn t even half full. The rice is not fully cooked. The miso soup tasted strange. Pretty disappointed. If I come to fergus again, I won t come here
