Hey, if you like country music and enjoy a country western style environment, this is the place for you. Nothing fancy here. It's just a casual place to have a few drinks and some pub grub with some friends or family. Have never been in the evening, but I believe they have dancing at night, probably on the weekends. And i believe they have bands playing. Food wise, we only ever had the platter of food for sharing. On our first visit there, we had a nice variety of items to enjoy on the platter, the second time not so much, but what was included was tasty. Only one lady working during the day, when we have been, she was nice and accommodating. Overall, no complaints. If you go, just keep in mind it's an older place with a very casual environment.
Kicked out for not drinking when I can't drink with the liscence I have. Been there many times drinking and eating and never had a problem not drinking there sometimes until the restaurant was dead
Fridays seafood special was fantastic (shrimp, fish & chips) The lady behind the counter was very sweet, someone mentioned the slaw that comes with the special was her recipe. Very good!!!
Awesome food at a great price. Never had a bad meal very consistent. We go once or twice a week can't beat the Friday Night Sea Food Platter.
There is a bedbugs infestation in the rooming house up stairs where all the junkies buy there meth. If you go to this dive bar you will have to pay 1200 dollars to get the bugs out of your home. Someone needs to call the health board and the landlord tenant board on this situation before it spreads
After a few hesitation because of the many reviews that the place have, I decided to give this place a shot after all, and I ain't regret it. So I assume that whoever wrote those reviews had some high expectations in mind, or maybe this place is different at the evenings 🤷♂️ I came in for a 12 o'clock beer, and eventually also get an hamburger. As for the atmosphere, the place was relatively empty (a few locals sit at the entrance) and there was only one lady in there at the shift that did everything (kitchen, orders etc). For me this is a 5 stars place, 1) I received a friendly and pleasant attitude, 2) I got to drink a cold beer in a hot day. 3) The hamburger and fries were good. 4) The price was resonable (2 beers and an hamburger for 16 USD). 5) Walk distance from the Peace Bridge.

Too many fights, at least once a week! The owner interferes with baseball bat instead of calling the police! Then those people starting the fights are still allowed back and being served too. $$$
Gotta get rid of the rif Raf that surround the place. And it needs to be cleaned.

Great place for drinks . The steak and cheese sub is too die for . Also live music all the time and a great jukebox. Bartender is very wonderful.

We go here for Friday night karaoke. Mama is wonderful and makes great food. The waitress is very nice. Parking is free on the street

Great place to drop in for a beer. Reasonable prices, great service, and they have a pool table. Forget the old reputation, this place has changed!! Amazing food by a trained chef, and a welcoming environment. Drop in and check it out!

Sketchy place. Ordered drinks and asked for menus and 40 mins later still didnt have em. Only Like 3 people inside. Ended up just leaving.

Cant speak for anything on the menu other than the fish n chips. Amazing bang for the buck!!! We go every Fri night now and weve tried all the others. Everyone we take goes back with others. Haddock or Talapia $7.95 cooked to perfection in clean friers! Cant be beat.
Worst bar in the region id say the only reason anyone goes here is to do cocaine in the bathroom or fight the local drunks

We went there this evening for a live show. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and with great service. We ordered some appetizers and a wrap, all came out quickly and fresh. Everything tasted great. Will definitely go back next time were in Fort Erie.

Big tex is one of the best places to get a drink and make a couple of new friends at any night of the week. Would recommend 5 out of 6 times

Took my son and daughter in law out for my sons birthday dinner. Awesome food and excellent service.
Fantastic cook, went there a couple of weeks ago for lunch and at 12.15 he was the only member of staff there, he made a pot of coffee and cooked us fish and chips, by the time we left nobody else had showed up!! Been there at supper time but was way too many deadbeats and drunks hanging around, kept coming over to our table and annoying us. Shame because this could be a nice place it if was cleaned up!

Thats has to be the dirtiest place Ive ever been in. spiders and bugs every where you look. it smelled like puke literally. its soo dam gross. i had to clean the bottom of my shoes after i left !!!!!
It has great potential...but its combined with tenants above...Some of which are lovely but others think they own the place because they live above it... Now the good stuff..The female staff are very friendly polite and honest.... The food is a really nice surprise and the price for the amount is really worth it...its a bar and has a melange of clientele .... Someones there is live entertainment T Bone is a consistently great performer...up tempo electric country music....terrific for Beers and friends....
