126 Niagara Blvd, Fort Erie, ON L2A 3G3, Canada
This serene Chinese restaurant features river views & a menu of classic entrees & dim sum.
I absolutely love this restaurant for 20 years. And it's still the exact same quality it always has been. You've never had Chinese food like this I can promise you. I wish I had more pictures to show you some of the other delicious options but please do not skip out on the wonton soup. This is not the wonton soup you think it is this will be the best wonton soup you've ever had in your entire life. The brass will literally blow your mind and the dumplings are absolutely delicious. Don't skip out on the steamed dumplings in the pan fried dumplings as well. The dipping sauce they make for the dumplings is an unami of Flavor in Your mouth. If you got time, pre-order the Peking duck. They serve the dark skin the crispy duck skin in thin pancakes with a hoisin sauce and it is probably one of my favorite meals on the planet. I can't pump this place up enough. Not to mention you're right on the water it's a beautiful view of the Niagara river. Definitely a hidden gem in the Niagara region.
Nice view seeing across to the US. Good food . Can bring your family there and have nice options for good prices .
The food was delicious. We ordered over 7 dishes and every single one was fantastic. The service was also awesome very attentive and friendly. We cant wait to come back. Also the view out the back windows is wonderful makes for a nice atmosphere.
Our favorite restaurant!! Everything is delicious and everyone is very nice! It is clean and beautifully decorated !!
Having never been here before, I heard the tangerine beef was highly recommended. It had such a unique flavor, unlike anything I've eaten before. The beef was tender and very flavourful. The MooShu pork with pancakes (which resembled tortillas) was excellent as well. A mixture of shredded pork and vegetables. And the chicken fried rice was delicious. I've heard the crispy ginger chicken comes highly recommended as well, so I'll have to try that next time. I would definitely return. The restaurant was extremely busy, and I was told before to call ahead and book a reservation. We waited for 3 minutes at the front desk when we walked in, and it took about 30 minutes for food to arrive. They would likely benefit from hiring another waitress, as ours seemed extremely busy running back and forth, dealing with customers and the phone. However, our waitress was polite, and service was great. It was an enjoyable experience.
I finally did it- two days ago I called in the peking duck for myself and three friends. As previous reviews have mentioned, it’s a must! The first course is the duck skin with a delicious sauce that they roll into a pancake. The second (main) course is the meat with vegetables. The next time you go, make sure you call 2 days in advance for the duck! The chewy dry-fried beef strips were also delicious. There were 8 of us total. Service was attentive and they asked upfront how many ways we wanted to split the check which made paying easy. If you live in Buffalo, I suggest making a fun bike ride out of the adventure like we did. 🚴🏼
Nothing but great stuff to say about this place. Their food tastes amazing and is always fresh. Very clean establishment and the staff are friendly and helpful. The sweet and sour sauce for the chicken balls is home made and worth the trip alone. Before/after your visit, the view of the Niagara river out back is just breathtaking. 👍🏽👍🏽
Everything was amazing. We ordered take out for 6 people and what we ordered was a perfect amount. Had trouble trying to figure out what to order so they helped us a lot by taking the time to explain the popular items, what flavors are in them, etc based on what we wanted. Such good customer service. Veg spring rolls, Jasmine Spare Ribs, Lemon Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Spicy Crunchy Ginger Chicken, Yang Chow rice, stir fried noodles. I do feel as though the portion sizes are much bigger when you dine in. But regardless the food is amazing. My favorite Chinese place in the Niagara region. Updated: we ordered again and got the chewy dry fried beef strips with ginger and garlic and wow they were amazing
Best Chinese food in the area.
Lunch on a weekday. Few people in the place. Service was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Food was excellent. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed.
This is by far our favourite Restaurant! The food is always amazing, the atmosphere and scenery beautiful and the service is terrific! Wendy is always so friendly and accommodating, highly recommend Ming Teh! Vegetarian options: My daughter is vegetarian and Ming Teh is always her first choice when she comes to visit! The steamed dumplings, vegetarian moo shoo and vegetable rice and stir fried vegetables are her favourite!
Truly world class dining! Great food! Wendy does a great job! Cannot say enough about the food! Food
Great place, nice atmosphere by the water. Lots of great flavors Dietary restrictions: Tons of Gluten free options Food : 5/5 |
Authentic , always great service , been coming to Ming teh about 8 years consistently. Food is consistent and delicious, something on the menu for everyone. Nicely decorated atmosphere, you can t go wrong . My buddy s family has been coming to Ming teh for over 40 years

Delicious!! Excellent food! Great atmosphere overlooking the Niagara river & fantastic customer service!!! Highly recommend...
Has been for decades, still is, the very best Chinese food youll have!!
Great food beautiful resturant on the niagara River
Amazing food! We ordered 5 different dishes and there was plenty to share. Never had such delicious varieties in my life. Will definitely go back! Food : 5/5
Ok this place is the dang BEST!!!!!!
Delicious! Great view of the river.
Many choices of asian food in Fort Erie, but this one honestly is the best. Service 10 location 10. cost 10 and most important food, honestly can t rate it high enough. Excellent food. 10 being perfect, never had a complaint.update since 3 years ago, still the Best Food. Asian cuisine
Lovely Chinese spot near the Peace Bridge overlooking the river. Great quality food and lunch specials. Courteous service. Dry fried beef is my favorite!
Ming Teh in Fort Erie is a hidden gem. The serene atmosphere with river views sets a relaxing tone to enjoy their classic Chinese dishes. Their dim sum options are plentiful, but the star of the show is the double-cooked pork. Crispy on the outside with melt-in-your-mouth tenderness on the inside, the pork is bathed in a savory sauce thats both sweet and spicy. Its a must-try for any meat lover. Overall, Ming Teh offers a delightful dining experience, perfect for a casual lunch or a special occasion.
We stop here on our way home to Northern Ontario from Florida and had always thoroughly enjoyed our experience in this restaurant. You are personally welcomed by the owner and the service and quality is wonderful. There are great views from the dining room overlooking the river and across to the USA. We have stopped here several times and have tried a variety of dishes and have never been disappointed. Portion sizes are very generous.
The best Chinese food in Fort Erie, by far and some of the best around Niagara Region! Be sure to try this place if you re in the area, your taste buds will thank you.
Love the food and atmosphere and the service is great. I understand food prices have gone up and realize restaurants have raise prices but we found a significant price jump since last summer. That being said, we will return because we do enjoy the food and atmosphere.
The food was great and the view of thd river was fantastic too
This was remarkable!! If youre in this area, we must go to . The service was #1. The food was hot and SO SO fresh
One of the best meals weve had in ages. Outstanding!
If you are looking for great, authentic Chinese food in Niagara you cannot pass on Ming Teh. One of our family staple restaurants for years, the quality is unmatched. You have to try the Moo Shoo Pork, Yang Chow Rice, String Beans (perfectly cooked green beans in a sweet, hoisin-style sauce) and start your meal with the fried dumplings and spring rolls. Also my favourite Hot and Sour soup as well! The staff is also so attentive and you are treated to a really nice view of the river and Peace Bridge. Parking is free, on the street or in the back of the restaurant. I just took a group of friends and they also gave it 5-stars.
Best Chinese food I had in a long time! Very clean place, super friendly and very effective! We definitely go again!! Food
Delicious, friendly a real gem
Ming teh is always excellent.there is nothing bad to say about ming teh. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Food : 5/5 |
Excellent service so delicious
Best restaurant in Fort erie. Best Chinese food! Would recommend the shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken.
Amazing place. Food is very fresh and hot. Great flavor. A real throwback feal that was very evocative. Highly recommended.
Loved every bite of our family dinner. Eight of us got together on New Years day and ordered eight different entrees so we could try a variety of dishes. We enjoyed everything we ordered and tried options that are new favorites. Parking: Parking is easy to negotiate and there is a beautiful view of the Peace Bridge, the Niagra River and city of Buffalo.
Love this place! Amazing food and people The wontons are my favourite!
As usual, the food was authentic and delicious and the service was friendly and efficient.
Top notch place. Well maintained historic home with lots of charm and comfort. The woodwork, flooring, original tiles and modern bathroom made it all so beautiful. Service was excellent and slept well. Only had breakfast and again, excellent. And all this was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
This place is great. Nice people and the food is amazing. We have been about 10 times over the last year.
Food delicious as I remember. Service and presentation was impeccable. Havent been there for a few years but definitely going back more often.
The food was fantastic! Family run, the staff was awesome and the view on the river was so peaceful! Next time I m ordering the Peking duck 48 hours in advance. I have just found my new favourite Chinese restaurant!
Ordered takeaway tonight and was fantastic! Chicken stir fry w vegetables and extra ginger!! The mooshoo pork always a winner. The dumplings!! lemon chicken. Shrimp fried rice. All delish. Highly recommend. And very reasonable in my opinion.
Great food and the owners are like family.
I came in around 2pm during a long bike ride. I got excellent food and service. I couldnt ask for more.
Our first time here. This should not be called Chinese food. Best food I ve ever eaten. Everything is homemade. The Moo Shoo or whatever it s called was amazing. Staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. This will definitely be our go to place from now on.
Went here with my girlfriend and the lady that was working front counter was very rude and pressured us to order our food. Made us feel very uncomfortable. The rice tasted not fresh at all. Probably never coming back again. Nobody has still responded to my review.
Wendy at Ming Teh has it down. The food is exquisite! And the view is spectacular.
Amazing food and friendly staff.
If one could give 10 stars that would be better. The best Chinese food ever. No msg, not ridiculously salty. Awesome place, awesome food, awesome service and an awesome experience.
The atmosphere and service seems okay. I ordered takeout so what I observed was the restaurant seemed calm and dark lighting. I tried the sesame ginger chicken and it didnt have a ginger taste but was extremely hard to chew and way more breading with very little chicken. Tasted like it was stale. I didnt eat more than 2 bites so that was disappointing because I travelled to the restaurant to pick up the order only to end up cooking at home.
Went in person to this place for business dinner with clients and they refused to seat us After 2 years went back alone ordered food and not once the waitress came to ask if I needed anything or if the food was ok Very poor service
The Absolute Best Chinese cuisine I have ever experienced in my tender 68 years of life.... The service was Top Notch as well... Thanks again for a terrific lunch We shall be back.. Well worth the 2 + hour drive from Kitchener Waterloo...
Excellent food and service
By far the best Chinese restaurant in the Buffalo Niagara region. One of the prides of the area. Order the dumplings ahead, theyre worth it.
Delicious! Well worth the quick drive over the boarder
Everyone is wonderful and the food could not be better. We come up at least once a month so we can get the best Chinese food we have ever had all while watching the river go by. We cannot recommend them enough.
Got take out! The food was delicious!
If you want authentic then come here! Outstanding...
Straight up, this place is nostalgia. It s a 1971 Dodge Coronet with green vinyl seating. It s a ClairTone stereo. It s Polaroid photos and jerky 8 mm film. It s grandma dressed up in Sunday best, and it s the smell of wood paneling and Crown Royal. Straight up, this is comfort food. It s crispy batter on lemon chicken. It s egg fried rice with soya sauce and luminescent vegetables. It s Chinese pancakes served sizzling table side. Its thick hoisin-y sweet and sticky chicken and pork and shrimp. It s 29 dollar bottles (not glass, bottle) of good Canadian cellared wine. Straight up, this is impeccable, friendly, professional service. This is unhurried and measured delivery of your meal with a smile, with genuine care and consideration. Straight up, this is nothing fancy, and thank goodness for that. Places like Ming Teh are fewer and fewer, and you owe it to yourself to stop and savor this roomful of nostalgia and comfort.
Great food . Nice location. Nice view .
Needs updating and faces the water but no deck. Food is good.
Wonderful food and service!
I don t often return to a restaurant but after my first visit I was thoroughly impressed with the flavour. I returned with a larger party so I had an excuse to order more. Located in a historic building within downtown Fort Erie offering excellent views of the Niagara River. By far the best Chinese food I ve ever had and one of my favourite restaurants in the area. Ming Teh is a must try!
This was our second time coming here, and will not be the last. Food is always fabulous, great service and the view is amazing!!
Visiting an old favorite spot for Chinese food, it was great as always.
They even went out of the way and made a dish that wasnt even on the menu. It was outstanding. Great service and great food. Food
Absolutely!!! The Best !!
Best Chinese food ever and plenty.
Food is great. So fresh and tasty
Amazing food, we ordered ahead for the duck, sensational, great atmosphere and awesome staff, very clean restaurant
Great food but was a bit crowded
Food was good
Open New Years Day. Celebrated 3 birthdays. Good food. We had a great gathering.
Amazing! Have lived here all my life and never tried Mings. Now Ill never eat anywhere else. Hands down best stir fry Ive ever had! Thank you for the delicious food and amazing customer service & conversation when I picked up my food !!
Excellent service and great tasting food. Highly recommend.
Service with a smile great service and delicious food some wonderfull drinks with most beautifull view of Niagara Falls authentic chinese food a must visit with a visit to Niagara Falls
Fantastic food and service!
The best Chinese food in Fort Erie & Buffalo!
Still great food and staff.
Best Chinese food around, bar none!
Excellent as usual.
The best Chinese food north of Mott Street. The hot and sour soup is not to be missed.
Hands down the best Chinese food I had and I had tried a lot of Chinese restaurants. Hot and sour soup and sesame chicken was next level.
Weve gone up to Ming Teh regularly from Buffalo for many years. In addition to other occasions, it is always requested on someones birthday, and last night we filled out the arriveCAN app and drove up for a wonderful, delicious meal! Being right on the Niagara River is a bonus. The owner and servers are delightful and the authentic Chinese food is the best in the area.
You simply have to go here. Best Chinese you can get. Best staff. Good for gluten free options.
Gluten friendly!! Have to go here, I cant stop thinking about it. All but good things to say Cool place and great staff.
First visit back in 3 years due to COVID. Probably the best Chinese food in the area. We ate in the room that overlooks the Niagara River view was great second only to the food. Recommend highly.
Such delicious food The meal was amazing hope to be back soon
Vegetarian options: Was very tasty as was all the meals Parking: We parked on the street very near the door. Kid-friendliness: Did not see any reason to not bring a child.
Amazing, flavorful food...good service, though they were very busy and I could have used another glass of wine. Will definitely be back for the food and ambience.
This restaurant is always five star I suggest you ordered the chewy beef its out of this world
I ve been eating here for over 30 years, but not so much in recent years. Having moved back to the area 4 months ago, have been to Ming Teh several times. It s terrific. Every time. Pork & pickled cabbage soup, pot stickers are amazing. Love the standard menu items that are always terrific: moo shu, twice cooked pork, tofu & broccoli, shrimp & snow peas, Yang Chow fried rice. Can t wait to go back for Chinese New Year. Love Ming Teh.
Never been Disappointed Here. By Far the Best Chinese food in the Area
Unbelievably great food, super friendly staff. A must visit place in the Niagara region.
Big order of 8 dishes, everything was perfectly done and delicious! Love the restaurant for authentic, high quality and fantastically flavored food!
Always absolutely amazing.
Delicious as always.
Amazing and High quality food you will love!
Absolutely love this restaurant. The view is fantastic and the food is terrific. The owners are wonderful people. Will definitely keep going here!
Exelent food, great service
Very good food, generous portions, good service, very beautiful decor overlooking the Niagara River
Awesome Chinese food very flavourful. Very knowledgeable waitress.
Delicious food. Not much else to say.
The food was great, but wasnt what i ordered. I had ordered beef and broccoli and ended up with beef and mushrooms or something. Dont get me wrong, it was fantastic, just not what was ordered.
This was our 2nd time at Ming Teh. The service was exceptionally slow. The steamed dumplings were not soft and pillowy at all...kind of hard.... and the accompanying sauce, super salty. Some of the dishes were luke warm but flavor was okay. I will probably return to give them another chance but overall, was quite disappointed with last nights experience
The best Chinese cuisine that I have ever had!
Amazing food
Went for my Moms 77th Birthday, our very 1st time there. Very welcoming atmosphere, waitress was very kind, and so was the owner.
My favourite restaurant growing up, lots of great memories eating their delicious food!
Sandra and I went to Ming The for lunch today. Something we have done quite often. However, today was special. Wendy actually had the chance to sit and chat with us during lunch. Thank you Wendy for a wonderful lunch. It was great as always.
Years later this is still the best Chinese food I have ever had. We most recently ordered the Peking Duck which was phenomenal! If youre in the area you need to stop here for food.
Very good service and tasty food! Probably the best Chinese food in the Niagara Region! I will be returning again and again!
Best food in town
Excellent.
Food not very good. Sadly disappointed.
Best real chinese food in wny,bar none.
The crown jewel of classic Chinese restaurants in the Buffalo/Fort Erie area. The food is always prepared with care and skill, with recipes that were obviously developed by someone with great talent and love for cooking. Everything is a cut above with some truly unique dishes on the menu. Try the Fragrant Clouds, a dish made with pork wonton, cucumber, and tomato. Its unlike anything Ive seen anywhere else and is absolutely delicious. Other favorites of mine include the Spicy Crunchy Sesame Ginger Chicken, the fried dumplings, and Stir-fried Hot & Sour Beef with Peanuts. Just a 5 minute drive from the border at the Peace Bridge, this is a must visit restaurant.
Well cross the border without a second thought just to eat here. They take all the dishes youre familiar with and tweak them up to make them a real experience. Its worth a stop just to see the artwork.
Excellent food...authentic Chinese!!
The food is fantastic. But they arnt like Canadian Chinese restaurants. They lean more authentic then most places.
Service was good. Food was great. Clean and cosy
First time there loved the food they make to order and it was delicious plan on going back. If you go at lunchtime dont be surprised if you have to wait they are busy cooking in the back . We are definitely going back.
I have been eating here for over 35 years. Was almost weekly until 9/11 when crossing the border took forever. We always get a bunch of to go after dinner. We have brought many people with us for their first taste of Ming Teh (Ming Teh virgins) and they always say we have ruined them for any other Chinese food. Including my 84 year old sister-in-law. I have never had a bad meal. The staff is wonderful. Ours friends of course now go on their own, but when we get together for a couples night out, this is where we go. Then we bring back food for ourselves and our kids. When the border reopens, this is where you will find us and our friends.
LOVE their moo shoo pork pancakes with hoisin sauce and noodles with veggies (mushrooms, carrots, snowpeas, broccoli, onions..). I havent tried many dishes since Im hooked on a few. Fresh and delicious (not all deep fried or salty). More expensive than the other Fort Erie Asian restaurants, but this one is my fave! Ming Tehs food just seems healthier and more flavourful, so its worth it. MmmMmmm
Worth crossing the border for!
Never disappointed in the food here. Always delicious. Combined with lovely staff and a beautiful view of the river, it makes for an excellent experience!
Ming teh has been our family favourite since the 90s. Quality delicious food and friendly owners and staff.
Exceptional service Wendy, goes out of her way to make sure that you re happy my two favourites are moo shoo pork and crunchy beef strips I gave it a five star and I am a tough critic
Fantastic experience! We came here for dinner on a Sunday night, an hour or so before closing. The place looked very clean from the get go. The owner explain to us several menu items until we found something we liked. The food was delicious and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. We also appciated the attention to detail, including the traditionally decorated, individual porcelain tea cups. Highly recommended!
Theres a nice view of the river on one side restaurant, the food tastes good but the price is a bit high. If you dont order rice then they still give you a bowl of plain rice with $2 charge without telling you, youll just see it on the receipt.
This is the best Chinese food out here cant get enough
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is outstanding! Prices are good too. A really enjoyable experience!
Family has been going here for decades, always fantastic.
Best Asian cuisine I have ever had! Owner Wendy is phenomenal and always treats everyone fantastically She even teaches my daughter a new word in Chinese each time we visit My favorite restaurant hands down
We frequent Ming Teh for their fresh authentic reasonably priced delicious food
Freshest Chinese food you will ever have. Tastes great, and they dont use MSG. Staff is friendly, and the view from the back of the restaurant over the water is nice. It can be a bit expensive for Chinese food, but its well worth it for the quality and portion sizes.
Fantastic lunch. My first time at this well known treasure. Tasty hot and sour soup, moo shu pork, and spicy vermicelli. Will be back for sure.
Always a great experience. Wendy is awesome
Disappointing again. Not worth the bridge crossing anymore. This place used to be exceptional...its just average now. This also bugged me- I ordered three main entrees, they charged extra for white rice. Ive never seen a Chinese restaurant do that before. Service was adequate but indifferent. Probably wont come back anytime soon.
The best chinese food l ve ever had much better then cambridge china house .
Still the best Chinese food on either side of the border. Wait staff is prompt and friendly and the owner always greets you with a smile.
One of the last Chinese restaurants open in Fort Erie Canada, this place does great business from guests from both sides of the river. Service can be a bit slow, but it is worth the wait. Take out is a popular option. Entrance is not accessible (one step), no door opener, and Im not sure about the washroom.
Favourite restaurant of all. GREAT food. Sooo Good!
The staff here are really nice, the interior is mellow, the lack of soft music in the back ground made the environment kind of awkward. The food was O K at best. The rice was cold and dry and hard to eat, rice is the star of my meals so I like it soft and fluffy and comforting and this was not it. The kungpao chicken tasted like dirt and expired canned bamboo. We paid $100, and three out everything when we got home. The car smell was heinous from the takeaway. I also don t like when the staff take the food from you to package it, I like doing it myself. The chopsticks also seemed old and dirty and were warped making eating difficult.
Beautiful views from the riverside room ,the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive.
Food is excellent. Decor is kind of shabby.
I think the five stars we rated Ming Teh says it all.
Love going here with family. Food and service are good.
Great service, food was pretty good. The restaurant has a real nice view to the river. Thanks
Best Chinese food around.
Awesome food and awesome service!
Excellent food!!! So delicious!! Staff is super nice and so friendly!!
Save your money. Worse service that I ever had. Asked waitress for refill of water several times and never got it I ordered the chewy beef strips and it was awful. It was very hard to chew. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
Best Chinese restaurant Ive ever been . Dishes are cooked with fresh spices food is made fresh to order. Great view of niagara river has been visited by alot of celebrity Goldie Hawn, Robert Redford, Glen Close, Woody Harrelson, Robert Duvall and many more. Robert Duvall mentioned ming teh as being World Class I eat this amazing food at least once a week.
Food is amazing. Happy family is hands down the best entree. Service is exceptional
Plenty of food. Very good.
The best authentic Chinese food in town!
Delicious Chinese food
Picked up some lovely fish soup. The restaurant, right on the Niagara river, has some spectacular views. Needs a bit of repair though.
I am sure that the food is good, however we do not know. We arrived at 6:00 and because we did not have a reservation, we were treated as if we did not matter. We had waited to be seated and were told a few minutes and then shown to a table in the main dining room which is fine, but the restaurant was empty and were told that the water view windows were for those who call to reserve. Went by 30 minutes later and restaurant was still empty.
Even though the waitress was polite, the service was satisfactory at best. However, the food was fairly good which made up for the satisfactory service. .
Always delicious food. Steamed vegetable dumplings are superb.
Showed up to eat with my wife, there was no host/hostess so we sat and waited... and waited... 10 minutes went by and nobody came to seat us, so we left and will never return. The restaurant was not busy so theres no excuse.
Excellent food.
Delicious vegetarian options. Wow. And friendly servers. Greatness
Delicious as usual and great service!
Always wonderful!
This place is great in every way the food is absolutely wonderful
