The Barrel Restaurant in Fort Erie

Very busy but given a table away from the noise very thoughtful , waitress very helpful enjoyed immensely

Had a very rude waitress experience. Called to place an order for 17 people off of the Lunch Menu and the waitress told me that the lunch menu is only for eat in and not take out and also that they dont deliver until 4 pm. So I asked them to add a small comment on their lunch menu to indicate that its only for eat in for future customers to which she replied that that is why we have a phone number so customers can call and get the right information. Her response was very clear in that customer service was not quite their priority. She even refused to putting the name of each person on the 17 orders whilst other places we have ordered from in the past have never had an issue with this. This left a very sour taste about this restaurant.

Every time my mom visits Fort Erie we always go to The Barrel restaurant. The chicken soulvaki is amazing, the waitresses are so friendly and we love the cosy atmosphere.

Every time we order delivery, unless it s pizza and wings, the order is wrong. For as much money as you pay and as long as you wait, you at least except the order to be right. Have called to complain multiple times to be met with a basic apology and no offer to make right.

Sick from the food, 2nd time. Most pizzerias (not chain stores) close early in town so we ordered take-out pizza and wings, mozza sticks. Few months back when we got sick thought it was just us, now again right after the same order, definitely not. Food quality is mediocre, too much cheese, raw doughy crust and the mozza sticks are DISGUSTING! DONT BUY! Too big.. the BREADING (not batter) is bland and the cheese to coating ratio is horrible.. it would take 3 sticks at any other place to make 1 of these mozza sticks

Picked up pizza and wings tonight, wings are complete mush and the pizza is basically raw. The quality at this place is SO up and down. One day you get a good pizza the next you get this trash, $65 wasted

Ordered take out/delivery. It arrived cold and one of the three entrees was missing. The restaurant said I needed to come in the next day to have my credit card reimbursed, that it couldn t be done on the phone. After discussing the issues with a manager we were offered a replacement pizza plus a $20 gift card. We will for sure try the Barrel again. Thanks

Chicken wings were good. For an Italian restaurant the pasta was very bland and was a big let down. Edit: I reached out to the email provided months ago and was asked to provided my phone number so they could make things right . Was never contacted after that. Changing my review from 2 stars to 1.

Italian eatery. Classic look and feel. Tiffany lamps and wood tables and chairs. Hostess sat me right away. Beer was cold, and the food was hot. Had a meatball sandwich, which was very tasty. It tasted like my grandmother made it. I will definitely revisit this fine establishment.

Went for lunch. Our meals were delicious. I ordered liver and onions. It came with fries and soup or salad. I got the chicken rice soup, also very good. My friend is from Simcoe and says that there is a Barrel restaurant there too. The owner came out to see how our meals were and we asked him if they are affiliated. Yes, I believe he said it was his uncle. I love the decor in this restaurant. Good food, great service and homey decor. What s not to like.

Had a great meal at the hands of Rebecca last night! She catered to our needs which are numerous with our two children, and did so with a smile. She offered a great recommendation on entrees and overall was instrumental towards our positive experience. We ll be back! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available. Crayons and a paper placement. The noise of our happily yelling 8 month old mostly blended into the overall noise of the main room.

Had a friend biy me a sub yesterday afternoon from the barrel, so disappointed it wasnt even cut in half, and it was the most saltiest sub Ive ever had. Subway sub would of been better choice...

Moving to Fort Erie and asking around about good pizza, I tried the barrel three times. 3 times disappointed. After reading great reviews, a waste of money and taste buds. Very disappointed

I came across this restaurant at the recommendation of someone while I was on vacation. So I went for dinner. The place itself is homey and comfortable. The service was friendly and on point. The place felt like a restaurant version of Cheers, where everyone knows your name (for those old enough to know the reference!). The food absolutely DELICIOUS!! Made to order, the food was fresh, visually appealing, large portions and dinner came with a side of salad or bread (possibly depending on what you order). The food was so good, that I came back a 2nd night. My 1st meal was the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. My 2nd meal was grilled chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce with a side of veggies and roasted potatoes. Each meal came with a warm bread loaf as a starter. I was so happy to come across this little gem! And I d be happy to return.

Just about given up on FE restaurants! Went with my neighbors to THE BARREL and thank you. Definitely 5 stars! Pasta, pizza, wings so good! Nice to see experience succeed in service and food. Ill be back!

We go here once or twice a year while vacationing at Waverly Beach. Sometimes just 2 of us and sometimes 6 to 10 of us. Service is good, pleasant wait staff, good food. A fun place to eat.

Pizza is so delicious! They have cup and char pepperonis too! Other food I have tried is chicken parm and spaghetti. Being raised by an italian I do not reccomend. However my son loved it. Chicken wings are breaded. Not my thing, I do with they offered traditional too. However they are good! Garlic bread and their little sticks, soo good! Chicken and rice soup. Plain but simple. Old style place with tonnes of antiques everywhere. Staff is nice. Large place. Usually can get a seat immediately unless its a holiday.

We had a great time!!

6 of us went for my moms 97th birthday dinner. Place was very busy...3 of the meals were good.. .1 not bad..2 not so good. Service was not as it should have been. Missing sauce on 3 linguine..if it was there it was minimal..and 2 veal were very hard around edges. Lasagna was very thin..more sauce than noodles and filling. But having said that it was tasty. Forgot 2 waters..waited forever to get the waters...didn t take away dirty glasses when fresh drinks were served. Didn t get my coffee I had ordered at end of meal. Cheese cake was excellent. We ve been there several times before and it was always very good. I wanted my mom to have a great dinner. Unfortunately hers was the worst meal of the bunch. She did get a free Sunday for her birthday. Tab ended up being a bit over $250 without any alcohol and I don t really feel we got our moneys worth. Again place was very busy but still the service and quality of the food shouldn t suffer I will go back but will be taking mom somewhere else for her next birthday.

Took my husband here for his birthday. We were sat at a table that shouldnt exist. A clear view of all the comings and goings of the mans bathroom. Yuck. The waitress was phenomenal. We moved tables and got our food. The wings were undercooked. Food

I wish 6 stars was an option. The ambiance makes you feel like you re at the family table as it s inviting and comfortable. The staff is warm, they give great suggestions and have a positive attitude. The foods consistency is spot on and you can tell the kitchen cares. This restaurant makes you want to come back or order takeout again and again.

We absolutely love the barrel. We live in welland but love to visit after our yearly night at the horse races. We re always greeted kindly and treated like family as soon as we walk in. The food is excellent and the prices are fair. We went on a Monday and the kids spaghetti was free with an adult entree. Our waitress (Kristina) was kind and patient while my children took their sweet time spitting out their orders . This place is the best and I always recommend it to anyone who s even going to sniff in the direction of Fort Erie. Thanks guys! Can t wait to come back. Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly with a reasonably priced kids menu and crayons and activities to keep everyone happy.

The food amount didnt match the prices. At least to me. My wife and I were happy with customer service but thought the food was okay at best. Wheelchair accessibility: There is parking for wheelchair people.

Food was good but the service was terrible.

Our waitress Karen was very polite, but our pastas was terrible. We ordered the spinach dip to start, which was delicious.. but our 25$ pastas tasted absolutely horrible. I ordered the Chicken Primavera which sounded amazing, but was very dissapointed. The vegetables tasted rotten, the pasta itself was soggy and the sauce tasted off and overall the meal had 0 flavour. my boyfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana which came out with once again soggy noodles, and unmelted cheese. Almost appeared that it was just pulled from frozen and reheated quickly on grill. All tables around us that came after had their food and bread way prior to us. Due to the kindness of Karen, who seemed to be very busy, we didn t want to complain or make her stressed and instead kept our thoughts to ourselves and just paid the bill. Due to this disappointing experience I won t be returning here. Very kind staff but the bill total was not worth the meal we just had.

Took my hubby, step daughter and her fiance for dinner, my hubby and I have been here a couple times before. My step daughter and her fiance have never been. The food was amazing , not one complaint about anything at all from start to finish, top knotch service. The kitchen manager came out and asked how everything was & in my books that is classy. Even the owner was walking around checking on tables. We will be back again. Keep up the great job. Try the panzerottis or veal parmesan.

An absolutely extraordinary place! The experience and the food were nothing short of spectacular. The souvlaki dish is a must-try and left us craving more. We were so impressed that we returned twice within two weeks. With its fair prices and fantastic atmosphere, this spot is a true gem.

My friends have always raved about The Barrel and I can see why! It has a charming atmosphere with amazing wait staff and the food is delicious! We ordered the honey garlic chicken wings which had an incredible sauce so good you could drink it and our waitress was incredibly polite and humorous! We will definitely be coming here again! Had dinner at The Barrel last night with my family and it was great from the moment we arrrived. Warmly welcomed by the host, we were shown to a table immediately. Our server was wonderful! She took good care of us--replenishing drinks without us asking, checking back with us, prompt, friendly, efficient and cheerful service! The food was excellent--we all loved our meals and I couldnt eat all of mine, so my husband had lunch today! Recommend this restaurant highly!

Had a great experience. Super friendly servers, varied menu. Delicious food made in house. (not delivered frozen, pre-made and heated up). Good portion sizes. Its real food, its delicious. Kid-friendliness: Table near us had a preschool aged child. They were warmly welcomed. Servers were attuned to needs of parent and child.

We found this gem of a restaurant today on our way home from Ohio. What a great find!! From the second we walked in, I knew we chose the right place to have dinner. The service was excellent and the food was beyond amazing!! It s a family run business and the food is all freshly made! The owner, Dino, came and talked to us and he was such a nice, humble young man! If you re visiting or passing through Fort Erie, definitely add this wonderful restaurant to your list of places to visit. You won t be disappointed!

I ordered the potato skins and told my server I have a gluten intolerance. She advised me the potato skins are deep fried and they share the same oil with other foods so I did not end up getting them. I had the stuffed chicken with roasted potatoes it was absolutely delicious!! The roasted potatoes were a little too salty but thats the only feedback I have. I definitely recommend! Dietary restrictions: There is a couple dishes for GF and vegetarians.

We were visiting from the US and found this place on Google. The service and food were exactly what we needed for our lunch break. The quaint atmosphere was enjoyable as well.

First time, the pizza take out was always food. Therapist and mac and cheese was to be desired, usually like it at other places. Husband steak and cheese sandwich was mostly all lettuce Over all pizza is what Ill stick too, nothing else.

Food is amazing Minus the Thai chicken. Ew if you want peanut butter sauce sure but thats not genuine Thai. I found it disgusting although its highly recommended. Very glad I got something else incase. Thai NEVER use peanut butter. Puke.

The pizza is good and the pleasant aroma floats on the breeze outside. During COVID we received excellent delivery service. However, we also received desserts that were partly finished, rotten salad and most memorable was opening my takeout box and finding a perfectly fish shaped battered fish smoking a french fry that someone had placed in its battered mouth. Not funny when hangry but funny now. We did not eat the food that night and haven t been back since. May try the pizza again once we have recovered from the shock. Interestingly popular amongst the locals.

Incredible pizza. Have the Works. The pizza crust just melts on your mouth. My partner had the platter with three mains, Caesar salad and garlic bread. The food quality is always outstanding and the service is friendly. Can t ask for anything more. The decor reminds me of the old Mother s Restaurants but not to worry the food amazing. We drive here from Welland regularly. Worth the trip.

Went here on a whim because we had hockey at the arena. Order Meat Lovers and Hawaiian large pizzas and wings mild. Best pizza we have had in a very long time! Everything was cooked well and extremely flavourful. Service was good and attentive. This is a distance from our house but next time in the area, wed love to visit again. We took family there on Saturday evening for pizza and wings. Our server Kristina (I think) was very friendly and helpful and patient with the grandkids. It was the usual good food and atmosphere.
