I did email this in but have received zero reply. If I can start by saying the staff were superb, very attentive and suitably chatty. In terms of food, my steak (10oz ribeye) was nicely cooked and well seasoned. However, the roast potatoes were incredibly disappointing. They really tasted as though theyd been reheated and not cooked and served fresh. Roast potatoes should have a crisp outside and a soft squishy interior. These were sadly cardboard-like in texture on the outside as though theyd just been reheated. When paying $48 for a main course, Id expect everything to be cooked freshly, not reheated. Our daughter had steak which was nicely cooked as well. However, Id question why it was sliced before serving. Steak should be left to rest, slicing it seemed counterproductive as it then became dry. The mashed potatoes, similar to the roasts just seemed reheated rather than fresh. The demi-glace was delicious and very flavoursome as was the garlic aioli. Our sons mini-burgers were also lovely and my wifes dish was delicious although it wasnt a Thai Red Curry sauce in our opinion. I really dont like grumbling about meals out but when were paying what wed consider high prices for local food, there is a hope and expectation that its freshly cooked. I also had horrific diarrhea the following morning after. We shant be returning.

My family and I received the best service from Sam and Mark while we dined here. These two were just professional and excellent. The food was such a delight. Definitely, a go-to place for a dinner date.

My fiancée and I had our Valentine s Day dinner at Northern Bar & Grill. We got a steak, beef dip, a couple drinks and caramel brûlée for dessert! The food was great, the staff were very kind & prompt with our order. There ended up being a mixup with the bill, but at the end of the night the manager, Samantha, she made it right! I would highly recommend stopping in having a great meal. Delicious food and wonderful staff. 10/10

Food was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly, i asked for med, but a bit more med well and they understood perfectly. Staff were very friendly and professional. Had a slight hiccup with the bill but they were quick to fix it and went above and beyond. Highly Reccomend.

NO idea how to make sticky toffee pudding. Was as flat as a brownie!!! VERY disappointed for the price.

One of my favorite places in Fort St. John to take my wife out on a date. This restaurant has some of the best food in Fort St. John paired with the best cocktails you can order in town. I have always had great service here and the waiter/waitress is always there before Ive had my last sip of any drink ensuring Im well catered to. If youre looking for amazing service and great food I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Used to be great but I feel the quality has gone downhill of late. Seafood salad for $28 was all greens with little seafood, calamari has deep fried vegetables and less calamari than I remember and we ve cooked better steaks at home. Disappointing as we went there for our 10th wedding anniversary and were underwhelmed.

A lovely venue with good food and amazing service. Our Server Kiara (hope spelling is correct) was very attentive, quick and friendly with a great attitude and regular updates on our food. The servers observe great training in their jobs and the overall atmosphere is professional and high class.

No gravy (or au jus) with beef dip, shouldnt really call it a beef dip. The burger was okay, the lamb was good. So I would say average but for the price it brings the whole experience down to 2 stars.

This is a very good restaurant. They have gone above and way beyond for takeout once. Always a nice dine in experience. The staff always greets you as soon as you arrive. Food is consistent. The menu is good although it hasnt changed in a while. Parking is good in the back. This might be the best restaurant in Fort St. john. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options

Ok, so its a hotel restaurant, but whomever is making the food there knows what they are doing! Its not often I message my friends to say I had a perfect meal, but today I did! I had a blue cheese burger. It was perfectly cooked bacon, crispy, salad fresh. Fries with the demi glaze were Devine...10/10 I dont usually have dessert out but was so happy with the meal, I did and glad I did too! Service was great, as Guy Fieri says You gotta eat here!

Really liked the atmosphere and vibe of this hotel restaurant. Little bit more upscale, but not too fancy. Went for a dinner date on a Saturday night and we really enjoyed the steak & lobster dinner. Nice service.

Recently held HSE meetings in the hotel, and 16 of us went for dinner to the North. Great experience, excellent service, and the food was absolutely amazing right from the appetizers to the entrees, desserts, and cocktails. Fantastic experience.

It could be a better place if it wasnt for them employees.

Lounge setting great for meetings. Staff are friendly and service is great. Never had a bad experience with the food, always fresh. Smaller dining area but very clean and professional setting. Definitely a nice dine-in setting. If one is looking for a good steak supper, The North is the place.

Great presentations. A fairly deep menu with many appealing choices. Appies were fantastic. My medium rare steak was blood rare, so someone wasnt confident in getting steak temperatures correct. The pricing is in line with local choices. Not cheap, but thats what it is for a decent meal in FSJ. Our server was decent but maybe needed some help with nuance given that this is supposed to be higher end. Plate piling on the table is diner style, not top tier dining room stuff. A tray stand for clearing is pretty standard in that sort of environment. As with every local eatery, the atmosphere is a challenge. No place can afford to be too high brow and not have an appeal for the patch...so you still have the ubiquitous TVs showing sports which is sort of a bummer and wholly unnecessary. But generally, recommended...

Best food in FSJ!

The best meal we ve had since moving to FSJ! We went to the North Bar & Grill for our anniversary and the food do not disappoint. In a sea of chain restaurants, this restaurant is a gem that FSJ should be proud to have! I m not sure if the menu was pared down because of covid but even then, I had a hard time deciding what to eat. The prawn appetizer was absolutely amazing. The prawns were huge and the sauce provided was a nice change from your normal seafood sauce. My husband had the Cajun Salmon burger and raved about it, even the French fries were good. I had the Smoked Chicken Penne and it surely did not disappoint. I usually don t order pasta dishes at restaurants but was very glad I did. All the flavours blended so perfectly together and it wasn t heavy like most pasta dishes. I found the prices to be extremely reasonable as well. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was nice. If you love real and authentic food, this is the place you want to be at! We both definitely agreed that we have found our new restaurant spot.

Really nice place a very good good. But the service came up very short. And it s no fault of The severs.They were really nice young people. But no one has trained them. This place could easily be 5 stars if someone professional would spend some time training. Good food, good value. Nice staff

I would recommend getting a reservation to avoid being disappointed as it was busy when we went. We did not have a reservation, but they accommodated us while still maintaining social distancing. Food was great, awsome flavors. I had the steak oscar, the steak was so tender that i could cut it with a spoon, which was good considering that it was ordered as medium and served as well done. Service was great, despite being as busy as it was. Good experience made for agood evening.

It was a company shindig that brought me here for dinner. The service was great. Our waitress was really accommodating considering the different diatary requirements of the group. The food was fantastic. The next day I heard from many of the people present that it was the best meal theyd had in quite some time which . I had the blue cheese burger and it was fantastic. And the bun didnt fall apart! Its the best meal Ive had in this town.

We were in last night. We ordered the special which was $42 a plate. Our dinners came out very quickly, we werent even done our shared appetizers between the two of us which was a disappointment, restaurant wasnt that busy. We both took one bite of our dinner and it was ALL COLD. Im not talking slightly warm Im talking the shrimp and crab on top of our steak was refrigerator cold, my steak was blue rare as opposed to medium rare. Our bill was $170, youd think after bringing out 84$ worth of our total bill cold would merit either a complimentary Appy or dessert, but no, nothing.... Its really unfortunate. This type of stuff doesnt bring me back to restaurants. There really was zero reason for the cold entres in the first place.

The Atmosphere is nice and the menu has some nice options. I ordered the Blackened 8 oz. steak topped with tiger prawns in a spicy cherry pepper butter sauce. My steak was good, I do wish the cut would have been thicker. The really disappointing part was the sides... if I am spending $36 on a steak I would hope the sides would reflect that price. The steaks either come with potato wedges or mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I went with the mashed potatos which was a disappointment. literally just whipped mashed potatoes with no butter, no gravy, no garlic and no seasoning, the veggies were just as bland; just steamed vegetables with no salt or pepper and they were cooked but yet were somehow cold. Steak was great but the sides were a huge let down.

If you are in Fort St.John you need to try this place out, the food is no less then epic. The drinks were a delight, if you like tasty Scotch you need to check this place out. Their Surf&Turf was on #wholenewlevel

My son and I had the burgers and hubby had Pad Thai. All the meals were so good. A must go for couples! Its nice atmosphere so you can have conversation without music blaring! It worth going. Waitress was the best! Cant wait to bring friends there!

A nice place to have some great food. If you re looking for something a little different then the pub, loud, drunk scene, this is definetly the place to go! Staff is horribly slow and unorganized, don t really seem to know what s going on, bar is slow. Food is deliscious
