Chinese and Asian food
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant today! The beef noodles were incredibly delicious, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. They happily accommodated our request for extra noodles and beef, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The owner was also super kind and welcoming. When we accidentally left something behind, they reached out right away and helped us recover it. It was our first time visiting New Brunswick, but the warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Such a wonderful place – highly recommend!
The staff here are always so kind and helpful. The guy who I believe is the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The food never disappoints in terms of flavor, portion size, and price. I always have leftovers to take home :) I usually get the fried rice with chicken, lo mein with chicken, broccoli beef stir fry, or the general tao chicken. This has been one of my go-to spots in Fredericton for years, and I've never had a negative experience. Very surprised by the other reviews...
We were served after Asian looking people were served despite that they all came later. We ordered different meals but Chicken, Japanese chicken and different kind of meal but also with chicken. “ Japanese”(?!) chicken meal was huge portion of rice mixed with some carrots and lots of potato cubs, chicken barely visible, taste bland and not tasty at all. Other chicken dish that had to be crispy chicken was limp chicken pieces with pile of rice, sauce was flour and water. Even miso soup was salty and not tasty. Will never go to this restaurant again, also tell my family and friends avoid it. And time ago it was quite good restaurant. Gone down a lot. Prices though affordable but not edible meals, so…
I was here last Saturday evening. It was HORRIBLE. The food was good but did not even partly make up for the loudness of the large group who dominated the restaurant, nor the surliness of the young waitress. It was my first time there, it was also my last time there.
Food and service was great but it was so very hot in there I couldn't enjoy it. Wonderful family restaurant.
I enjoyed this place, the host was awesome she was very nice. Our food didn't take long to get to us. This establishment was very clean and comfortable, great place for private parties. Service was awesome and so is the food. I recommend this place if you enjoy Asian food.
My husband and I visited Thai Manao Restaurant on a Monday for lunch (around 2.30 pm) and we were seated right away. Food: We ordered ramen, sweet and sour pork stir & bibimap (with pork belly). Everything was flavourful and portion sizes are generous. We also got a Tao Chicken rice as a take away. Service: our server was young and served quick. Ambiance: With slow music and just enough light on the background, the restaurant has a calm atmosphere. The rest rooms are clean.
It's been a few months, since before covid, that I've been able to visit Thai Manao. It's always awesome, but it was the first time in over a year that I tried the curry, and this Pinang curry was a surprise. When I got it, it looked incredible, chili oil mingling with but not disappearing into the sauce, and when I took a bite, what a heavenly, beautiful flavour. I would say this is the best-tasting Asian dish I've had in Fredericton. Also, though the server was extremely busy with skipthedishes orders, she still managed to check in on us when needed. And then the bill was only around $30 for two beautiful entrees and a small appetizer. Completely satisified
Always delicious
Some of the worst food Ive had
They have probably changed owners and staff. IT S NOT GOOD LIKE BEFORE. First the waiter left to make a delivery without having finished serving us, only one person out of three was served. We had to wait over 15 minutes before someone took over. The water was lukewarm, the noodles were mushy, there was an unpleasant smell on our plates. All 3 ARE DISAPPOINTED. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Gone forever for me and my friends. Dirty utensils, yark
Nice quiet place with a varied enought menu too satisfy most people
An amazing first time visit!
sorry to say but the worst curry i have ever had. absolutely no flavour and a white gummy pasty sauce.
An hour before closing we were not greeted too warmly. The restaurant was deserted. A table was not served. The hostess cleared a table for us before we sat down. ? Its not done gradually? The dishes were generous but ordinary. Oh yes! The ceiling (or the ventilation??) was dripping onto the bench seat behind us, AND in front of us... Hmm.
Very good cooking restaurant, highly recommended the Beef Flank Stew
Very poor quality and they doesn t have the butter to offer , noodles were dry. Don t waste your money in this restaurant, I would rather go to east side Mario opposite to it
Friendly staff. Pepper beef was good. Serving size for one person. Food : 3/5
server seemed like she didnt know much. Offered beer brands she didnt have. Was confused by most questions. Brought me red wine instead of white. Asked for extra spice in my ramen got none. Had to basically go in the kitchen to flag her. Spice or no spice was so bland. basically just chicken broth... then a ton of chillis when i asked for spice with a over cooked egg and pork that was 80 percent fat. she forgot our chicken balls and didnt get any napkins. didnt cone to check if our food was ok. when we said it was not good at the ebd she didnt offer anything. Wont be hoing back.
Service was good, but food isn t tasty
An amazing place to try authentic Chinese / Asian dishes It looks toa family business that makes you get a good family wise connection to the owners, they would simply offer you what the do best and fine tune it for your dietary request as possible. Things get done fresh and hot.
They offer many different kinds of Asian cuisine (Chinese/Cantonese/Singapore, Japanese, Thai), so I was worried about the authenticity of the taste at first, but for the most part they were quite good. The portion size was good as well. The place is very cute, with beautiful round lights hanging off a very tall ceiling. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options
The Sun setting low into the cloud-peppered sky Cast shadows growing ever longer Hungry families prepare for a feast A wide selection, hard to choose So much looks so good Decisions made, orders taken Food arrives, tastes amazing Stories, laughter, memories Excellent choice Thai Manao
Very great Thai restaurant, fresh food, tasty! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Food : 5/5 |
My husband and I were very disappointed by this restaurant. We waited for 35 minutes after sitting down and placing our order. 2 other tables who ordered their meals after us were served before us. The waitress was lovely and kind however we left in frustration.
Stopped to try this spot. Found the menu was all over the board, lots to choose from, yet it lacked some sort of theme. Food was ok, egg rolls were cold, noodles were hot but shrimp was not completely cooked. Great spot lacking s little wow for the food.
Unfortunately, we didnt like it. The soup and the rolls just ok and my meal I took a few small bites and I had to stop I was feeling sick.
Experience was amazing & staff were awesome!!
Best General Tso I have ever had .. definitely going back
Absolutely love this restaurant. I definitely recommend checking out the Very Chinese section of their menu because its all consistently delicious. We really like the broccoli and cauliflower dry pot, crispy pepper chicken, and the black pepper beef. We always leave happy, full, and with leftovers to take home! Just to clarify on the price, when in a group I always insist we order family style. Thats about 1 - 2 dishes per person. Its so worth it and the food brings back such good memories of my time in Beijing!
I love how they have the asian spicy option for their food. They always serve food in good quantity and taste wise absolute perfection Definitely check out their food
I couldnt enjoy the food at all. It was not good. I wont visit again.
order a few times from them through skipthedishes, the lunch is okay, but when I order the very chinese dishes, those are rip off, so small, not even enough to feed a kid. I open a can of stew, the can has more food? and for $20 dishes? come on. get yourself a bbq chicken or something.
dishes were prepared insanely fast, very clean environment with great staff and great food.
Its a small cozy place with incredible authentic food. I suggest stoping by. I will definitely again. My wife and brother in law also loved it.
The staff and food were excellent. Great portion sizes for the price, clean and a great atmosphere. We enjoyed our evening
Ordered a couple of meals from these guys made it clear that I only like the spice to taste but instead they slathered both meals with hot sauce it was there was no other colour the red from the sauce so $47 worth of food in the trash
I came here for the first time a few days ago and LOVED the food and service. Today was a far cry from that. The young server took a long time to take our order and when we ordered it arrived at an adequate time and it looked very good! However what he overlooked was checking in on his customers to ask how the food tasted after a few moments of receiving it. Had he come by to ask, I would have told him that I couldn t bare the smell of the dish I ordered. I had taken 3 small bites from it thinking it was just me or it was just the sauce that was used but I ve tasted that dish before and it was not the same. Even when I pushed it away to the edge of the table it wasn t far enough - the smell was unpleasant (similar to the foul odour you get if the dishwasher doesn t clean the dishes well) I ended up having to push it further away to the other side of the table. My husband and I just sat there for minutes and finally we flagged him down to ask for our bill. When he came over he still didn t enquire as to why the full dish was at the edge of the table but my husband asked for a container to take his dish home. We also asked for our bill, paid for our food. I left my dish there and I went elsewhere for my dinner.
What a great discovery! I ate here with friends, the meals were very good and authentic. I have often traveled to China and by eating at Thai Manao I rediscovered the flavors of my travels! I give 4 stars because the service was a little slow, but the taste and freshness of the food was excellent! I would like to return there on my next visits to the region!
Pad thai was amazing, extra spicy on request.
Excellent host, delicious food and nice vibes. Would recommend. Vegetarian options: Vegan options also available
Great miso soup, the pork fried rice is very good
One of our favourite restaurants in Fredericton.
My husband lived in Freddy for 4years and after moving to Ontario he s been trying to find a place with good sweet & sour pork and has been so disappointed that he cannot find one. He s been telling me about how amazing it is from Thai Manao for the last 2 years so while we were visiting for a few days, we made sure this was the very first place we stopped to curb his craving. It did not disappoint! the sweet & sour pork is hands down the best I ve ever had and it s exactly how he remembers it. I now understand why none of the other places we ve tried compare. Since it was so good and it s his absolute favourite, we ended up ordering it 3 times while visiting lol. Their Pad Thai was also tastey and a good portion size. Now I join him in craving it and look forward to our next years visit.
Im not a fan of Chinese but my boyfriend is so we tried it. For my part, I found it good. My boyfriend liked it but his dish had an aftertaste. I am disappointed not to have found the Japanese menu like in the photos.
Update Aug 2022: ordered several dishes from the Very Chinese menu and is quite satisficed with the quality and authenticity of the dishes. The new chef and owners have successfully revamped the food. Update May 2022: Visited again and menu have changed, with some items eliminated. Overall quality is good and service is agreeable, much better compared to original visit. A reminder that the restaurant does not have many seats and if you wish to dine in, you should reserve in advance. Update Jan 2022: Visited again and have noticed improvements: Potato and beef was done just right, with beef being very tender with good flavor. Green beans with garlic had good flavor. Scallion pancake was somewhat inconsistent. One serving was done well, very soft and aromatic. The other serving was charred on one side, with a burnt taste, obviously over-cooked. Again, the flat rice noodle wasnt done well, with a sweet and sour taste, which is rather unusual for this style of cooking. Overall, reasonable price and some good dishes, but still have room for improvement. Pleasant, modern décor; good service. Unfortunately it seems the chef does not have a handle on Chinese cuisine. The chef uses excess grease and does not provide the balance of flavors expected. - green onion crepe: slightly burnt, too oily. Lacks the crisp texture and did not bring out the aromatics of the scallions. - char kway tiao rice noodle: supposed to be dry stirfry, but was too wet instead. Lacked bean sprout. Used a sweet sauce instead of the traditional soy+dark soy combo. - black pepper beef: overwhelming pepper flavor that buried the savories of the beef. Excess grease. - ma po tofu: satisfactory with the appropriate texture. - delicious eggplant: excess grease, again masking the aroma that shouldve been brought out from the sauce. I believe oyster sauce was used, which wouldve been an unusual choice.
Excellent food and service!
Lovely wait staff, fast service, but that was pretty much it. I was shocked and disappointed by the food my mother and I ordered this evening. I have been to countless Asian restaurants and I have never been so discouraged about the inauthenticity and bland-ness. I have also worked in an authentic Asian restaurant in the past and worked on a line. Let me elaborate my experience for you: Firstly, my mother and I placed our order. I ordered KATSU DON which was described as Deep fried PORK with sweet sauce, vegetables and egg on a bed of rice. I was absolutely astonished by the lack of flavor. The rice was overcooked, watery and mushy with no texture at all and it was very starchy. Growing up on rice as a kid, I instantly recognized the taste of Uncle Bens Rice from eating it for half of my lifetime. The meat was NOT PORK and was in fact chicken. Battered chicken nugget. Not real chicken, but processed compacted chicken. The pieces were soaked and soggy from the sauce. Nothing would have confirmed that this was in fact Katsu Don. I called over the server and I asked her how they made the rice. She said they used plain fried rice and mix it with the sweet sauce, which is not how you make Katsu. If you need a reference, the rice (sticky rice or calrose rice) is plain at the bottom, the protein is fried and crispy, and the sauce should be *drizzled* on top. When I asked about the meat, she said it was chicken. I questioned WHY it still said Pork on the menu, and she explained they havent changed it yet, and we changed it because not a lot of people eat pork Youve gotta be kidding me. That is not a real reason. IF I HAD AN ALLERGY TO CHICKEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN HOSPITALIZED. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this. It is false advertisement and VERY dangerous. 100% inexcusable. Secondly, mother ordered the Beef Udon Stir Fry. It had no seasoning whatsoever and the sauce had no taste. The udon noodles tasted like the plastic package it usually comes in. The taste was a mixture of cardboard and preservative. My mother unfortunately could not push it aside and wait to inquire the staff, since she was so hungry, and chowed down like a champ, despite the bland taste. Lastly, when they took my Katsu Don away I ordered something else small just to fill my stomach up a bit because I was still starving despite my recently lost appetite. I ordered some chicken dumplings and fortunately they were in fact chicken dumplings, but the taste was oh so familiar, sans the undercooked taste and pasty texture. It tasted like something I had eaten before. After a moment of pondering I had a lightbulb moment: they were Costco potstickers. The dipping sauce was mostly what I imagined was red wine vinegar and it was sour and atrocious. That was the last straw that we had to leave because I was starting to get a little bit of second hand embarrassment for the wait staff. I grab my water glass to wash it down a bit, and I noticed a smidge of something stuck on the glass. Ok, time to go. In conclusion, my heart is broken because the wait staff were sweet and apologetic and I felt bad because this wasnt their fault at all. I would have left a tip, but I know that many restaurants share tips, and I didnt want them to share my tip with the kitchen staff. Something needs to be done immediately. The menu REALLY NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I find this very suspicious and very shady. Not worth the price, inauthentic, and I hate to say this, but I dont think Ill be going back. I have a receipt in case you dont believe me.
The meal was good with a good portion. The very welcoming manager
Today I tried the restaurant for the first time and I got the extra spicy Singapore noodles and let me tell you I got lit up, they were delicious and also stayed very hot until I got home which is a 40 min drive, the next time Im going to go for a little less spicy even thought it was very enjoyable I know Im going to pay for the spices tonight when my belly disagrees with my choices....
Best sour soup. Real ,great and clear gluten free options
Even though they call themselves Thai Manao but due to their customer base, they serve a little Thai, a little Chinese, a little Canadian, a little of everything. And the owner is Chinese. The food is pretty good. The service is very nice and warm. Keep up the good work!
This review is pretty much just because of the service or lack there of.. The guy who worked there pretty much made it clear he didnt want to be there.. No greeting, no please and thank you, no offer of anything (had to ask for water, chop sticks and even the check after sitting there for a while). The food was ok but they definitely cheap out on the proteins.. my egg was also way over cooked on my bibimbap. Unfortunately would not return
great food and service
Terrific food. I like the beef udon and some other things they make. Ive been coming here a long time and have never been disappointed except for the bubble tea but it was my first time trying bubble tea and it may very well be that they have good bubble tea and I just dont like bubble tea in general.
Still on the hunt for great Pad Thai. Found a place in NB that I would go back to! Very Good! Edit-I have found in looking for good Pad Thai that there is such a variation in how the dish is made. I try not to judge it on what I think it should be. I judge it on if it is good in its own way. What should it be or taste like ? Im not sure actually ha ha ha, different strokes for different folks!
Every time I eat here I leave with a full stomach and a good mood. Food is delicious and the portions are awesome. I highly recommend the Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice!
Great food and awesome service!
Its ok. Generous portions. Pricing is high. Place is clean. One big thing for me is that they never bring the played at the same time. One would finish their meal while some other would wait.
Quiet little place. Tastey food, that looked exactly like it did on the menu. Atmosphere was just off a little - happy to concede that may be a general covid vibe. Definitely going back, to find out!
First time there. Got take out. Chestnut chicken. Very good. Nice atmosphere inside. Very clean. Will have to go back for dine in service. Very filling.
Very good
Although small from a square footage metric, dont let that fool you: the place felt spacious and was really clean. We didnt feel cramped at all. The food was very tasty and served very hot. I tried the Tom Yum Soup as a meal, it was amazing. I will definitely have it again as it was awesome. Prices are reasonnable and portions are filling. The menu could be improved as the photos are not as inviting as they could be. But thats typical of a lot of smaller restaurants. I was happy every item has a picture. Give it a try, you wont regret it!
Disappointing
Delicious pad tai and spicy pork belly
Great place
Good food. Too expensive
Except good interior design, food was very substandard. Never ate such bland Thai food. usually I have seen thai food to be healthier option compared to most fast food, however they have found a way to test that.
Tried to order. They put us on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up and tried to call back a few times but kept getting error messages...
Food is amazing and the service is excellent. Had a meh first experience years ago but have been there twice this year and was blown away. Recommend you go with friends and get dishes to share.
Very pleased with the Very Chinese Menu offerings, the spice level for my dish was excellent! Great service too, when I went for lunch.
One of our favorite spots for a dinner out. Great variety of dishes and well prepared. Highly recommend checking it out
Fair prices and the octopus balls are to die for.
The tastes of the dishes were scrumptious. Many gluten free choices. Light, open atmosphere. Superb service!! My mouth is watering just recalling this.
Very good food. Ordered allot from skip. Only ever one issue with order. Half not delivered. Promptly corrected but still sucks eating the other half cold. Sad to see the free delivery go.confusingly allot of their menu items have zero description as well making it hard to know what to expect.
This place does a variety of Asian cuisines, some better than others. The service is good, and the food is served quickly. The prices are inexpensive - a lot of the time, going here for lunch is cheaper than getting fast food.
Amazing food. The curry was really good
Great place to get lunch. Great food and super fast service!
Mediocre food, nice atmosphere, nice staff
We have food allergies and he explained everything basically on the menu as well as went in the kitchen and read the ingredients. The meal was awesome and will be coming back again, well done great place.
Good food. Try the pot stickers.
Use cabbage in their three treasures stir fry and tasteless. They may think we don t know about Chinese food. The only thing in this restaurant can be eaten is roasted pork belly, so I give that 2 stars:)
Went there as a family to celebrate a birthday. Shared many dishes. Food was quite good but not memorable. I think the night we were there they must have been extremely busy: constant stream of Skip the dishes orders and other pick up orders which meant those seating were no priority. Also, as you can read below, I think they may have cut corners a bit. Areas of improvement: Asked for two appetizers but the second one (dumplings) came more than 30 min after we sat and basically at the same time as our main dishes. Takoyaki could use more tako (octopus) and veggies (like those one can get out of the subway stations in Tokyo) as opposed to mostly dough. Also, they should be spherical, not half spheres. Although good tasting, the yellow currie could use a little more currie and less starch (or whatever thickening agent they use). The Shanghai noodles had good consistency but could use more flavour. The areas to keep: Spicy beef was very good. Not very spicy for it being in the Chinese portion of the menu but again quite flavorful. The dish was well served and the meet was very tender. Katsu with chicken was good as well. We also had he sweet and sour pork. I also quite enjoyed it but had mixed reviews from others at the table.
Excellent Asian food. Great flavor for a fair price. Will definitely eat here again.
The experience my group had with our order here has become an inside joke. Typically, in NS, at Thai restaurants you order the bowl or sauce or whatever and it comes separate from the tiny bit of rice. Usually you need additional rice to compliment the amount of sauce/stew/curry. So we put in our order 3 hours in advance for 4 sauces which we were told came with a little rice. So we sked if we should get more rice on the side. Sure said person on phone. Get to restaurant at time for pickup: not ready, there are other people ahead: Ok. 15 minutes later: we ran out of rice, making more: Ok. 20 minutes later, get order. Bring to hotel, open 4 curry bowls, all of which are packed with rice and a tiny bit of sauce. Plus 2 large rice. Basically got 6 large bowls of rice for 85$ and a 40 minute extra wait. Cant really review flavors since it was too diluted to taste anything but the salt. If that is your cup of tea then 5 stars. For me and my friends its our inside joke.
I am at Wendys now because Thai Manao failed to make my order and didnt compensate. I call them to order a take-out this afternoon; I mean to ask for a recommendation, and the guy just answering, we have everything. It feels like it was a burden for him to make recommendations, or he doesnt know whats on the menu. What upset me most is that, after 30 min, when I get there, the guy told me they dont have enough material to make the order. I think they should call me right after realizing they cannot make the order instead of just waiting for me to get there. They didnt apologize but ask me to make another order and wait as nothing happens. The whole experience is sending a message that they are about to shut down. As it seems, Thai Manao no longer cares about customer experience or reputation.
Great place for take out or dine in.
Normally I m quite happy with this place but their recent attempt at social media advertising has left a bitter taste in my mouth. You see, they ve been advertising their Sunday and Wednesday night buffet and how s its only $25! What they failed to mention is that reservations are strongly recommended. Tonight at 5:30 pm we were told that reservations are recommended and the wait would be 30 minutes no seats to wait it out either. So we left for the other Asian buffet in town. See my five star review of that place. Sorry Thai Manao. Do better at telling your hungry patrons what is needed to eat there next time.
Quick, easy and affordable great tasting food the decor is amazing here and its a really chill place to have lunch with your friends and relax i recommended this place! They sometimes have sales on their to go rice bowls which are delicious by the way and very fast less then a 5 minute wait! :)
Was so excited to try. Unfortunately my partner and I were so underwhelmed I dont believe we will be back. The food was cold and mostly flavorless. I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried a few new things but still very underwhelmed. Asian iced tea was pleasant but had a powdery texture. One thing I have to praise is the staff. They were kind and friendly. They answered any questions I had and never made me feel uneducated for it. EDIT: the buffet was our meal. Thank you for being willing to better the situation. We really had high hopes for this resturaunt. Being cooks for many years ourselves we find it sometimes a waste to go out to eat but often like to try new places.
Good service and good food. Portions really generous for the price. Would return.
I ate chinese noodle with a sidedish called cold cucumber which is not on the menu. Both are so tasty.
Great food great service nice place
Enjoyed my second visit to this eatery. Dined on the beef stir fry which was a little to spicy for my preference but hey, I ordered it. Our waitress was knowledgeable with the menu and offered suggestions and provided good information. Very clean environment and good service.
The wednesday night buffet was fantastic.
We have had nothing but great food and great service! Highly recommend!
This was the first time we went to this restaurant. Not sure why we didnt come here until now. The outside decor does seem to not fit for some reason, but you will be delightfully surprised when you come in. Everything is made fresh and special dishes can actually be ordered in advance. Our meals were delicious. There is a wide variety of choices and I look forward to our next visit
First time was perfect. Will follow up with more soon as I go again.
This is a wonderful Asian restaurant. The menu seems to be quite comprehensive, and the food is freshly cooked and delicious. Decor is great. Staff is friendly, pleasant, and helpful, and didnt pester us during a working lunch meeting. Great pricing too. Highly recommended--do yourself a favor and enjoy a great meal at Tai Manao!
Delicious food great service
Ive only went here twice, the food is great! I went there the second time just last week, and the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. An overall comfortable atmosphere with good food and friendly staff.
Super friendly staff. Amazing food, good ice tea
Great food, decent pricing, good service. My favorite is the pad thai.
So good! The food and the server! Karen and Ruben you guys are the best! Yeah the food was delicious!
Good variety of authentic Asian Cuisine
Good food and clean restaurant. They could be a little more organized with seating and taking orders, when we were there we were asked to wait while a table was cleaned off, shortly after we watch another couple walk in and they were told to sit wherever they wanted. When we did get a table we saw the servers tend to other tables first (who arrived after us). Overall though its a good restaurant and the staff is friendly, this may just be a lack of experience. I would eat here again.
The best soup Ive tasted Ramen and Miso
Fast & friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere, with lots of options to choose from at a reasonable price.
Great food and service with gluten free options
Very good.
Great restaurant!
Skip it...not sure what happened here, but the last time I was here, I had a wonderful green curry. Today, I was served a salty cornstarch thick gravy coated, over cooked veggie plate. The server so graciously returned it to the kitchen in exchange for the identical noodle plate my Daughter ordered....when it arrived, it was completely different!!! (And not as good) Sad.
Everything has to be ordered as extra, expensive for the service they provide
No better place to eat Chinese food
Food was decent. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff were friendly. New to the area so trying out new places
First time visit to this restaurant.Strictly Asian food. The decor was very basic ,but comfortable. The service was timely. The server was very pleasant and knowledgeable as to the different dishes. This is not a place you dress-up to go to on a special occasion...nothing luxurious about it..But, I had the Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken and it was the best I have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a real Asian food experience, with no bells and whistles..just good food and pleasant surroundings. With those limitations, I would still give it 4 stars..
Awesome
Tried many things from Thai Manao and theyve all been great. My favourite thing to order is the bibimbap and ramen. The takoyaki is also a great appetizer... but you wont want to share. Weve also been there for the buffet on Wednesday but I preferred the regular menu. The decor inside is really nice and modern. Love the giant buddha.
Prices are reasonable for portion size, and they always a lunch special and dinner special.
Great food. Love it.
Great food and atmosphere
Waiters are not very observant. They dont explain menu very well.
The reception, the people and the food are excellent.
No clue, didnt go. But Im sure its good!
Seems like a decent place but they dont have bubble tea.
Good food, beautiful decor
Tasty food with big portions for a very reasonable price. The server was super friendly and knowledgeable.
We ordered Pinang curry and Singapore noodles. Pinang curry tasted okay but both dishes were not authentic. The noodles tasted very bad. I am not gonna recommend this place...
average
Good and delicious food.
Ordered delivery with a Quarter Spoon of spice. It was so insanely hot we couldnt eat it. Restaurant remade it for us without the spice (I paid for the driver only). YMMV for ordering food with added spice, but the food was very tasty and they were very reasonable in resolving our issue.
Mediocre food..not great service, although cheap ...not good
Don t be fooled by the name, there is nothing Thai about this place. I ordered the green curry at first and it looked like mashed potatoes sitting on a bed of rice. It tastes like mashed potatoes thickened with corn starch. I had to send it back and ordered a simple stir fry instead. It was absolutely tasteless, the vegetables were boiled and even the chicken strips tasted boiled. I could barely touch my plate and the server was very apologetic and gave me 50% off. They really need to work on their recipes and learn to cook food without boiling it. Sad excuse for a restaurant.
Great food
Good food.
Just took the wife for lunch it was great fantastic service and the food was absolutely delicious. If i could give more then 5 stars i would.
Our meal (2 different noodle dishes) had very little taste. Staff was very friendly.
Authentic food. Great service.
Awesome . Tom yum soup ...
They have one of the best fried rice and shrimps in the city .The ambience is great .The place is wonderful for parties and get togethers. The price is very budget friendly. I really loved their fried rice and shrimps a lot .On a whole I just love the place <3
Do not let the shopping power centre location fool you. This is authentic and very good. Mains are significant in portion sizes and taste is excellent.
Nice Thai Restaurant with good food
Microwaved mush leading to gastrointestinal distress. The server was the one redeeming factor.
Best Asian-style restaurant in town. Menu is refreshed regularly. Mostly authentic, eggplant crock pot dish is the best! The ramen had the pickled egg removed as people were leaving it behind, but it is still good. Large portions, reasonable prices, friendly and prompt staff.
good food, fast service and a beautiful dining room. prices are pretty good for the serving sizes. The Katsu Don is amazing~
Had dinner with my teenage daughter here on the labour day weekend. Prices are reasonable. Seaweed salade, edamame, and miso soup were great. We split pad Thai. Disappointed no egg or tofu in it as listed on menu. Restaurant informed me that they dont put tofu or egg in it anymore. They offered to redo my dish but I opted to keep it. They brought me a plate of tofu and eggs and I mixed it in. Very good! They plan on changing the menu soon. They also had a hot paste - excellent. Restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated.
Loved the food, loved the ambience
It was ok, atmosphere was nice, food was just ok...lots of choice on the menu however there was a dish or two unavailable. Service was ok, quick getting our food however all our orders didnt come out the same time.
I really wanted to love this place! The restaurant has a great feel to it. It is very fresh and modern looking inside without feeling stuffy. But, the food is very expensive and the quality was incredibly disappointing. If the quality had matched the pricing, that would be different. However, the meat dish we ordered had good flavor, but boy was it dry. The pad Thai was anything but authentic. The shrimp was precooked and very fishy tasting. Freshly cooked good-quality shrimp is amazing. This was not even close. The pad Thai has broccoli, and chunks of carrot, which is a strange addition, and the sauce didnt seem to have any of the ingredients of traditional pad thai, which can be one of the most amazing foods when done correctly. We spent close to $100 for three, all disappointed. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes? Either way, we arent going to spend another hundred or so to find out.
Great food! Fast service. Plenty gluten free options. Lots of free parking. Clean and modern restaurant and friendly staff. Authentic thai cooking. Love it!
We went here for the first time for lunch and ordered the shanghai noodle special, pad thai, and green beans. It was a fantastic dining experience all around! The environment was updated and clean, the servers were extremely friendly and accomodating to vegan dietary requests, and the food was extremely tasty. I think the prices were appropriate and the weekly special was a great deal for 8$. We will return!
Pad Thai was great, service was excellent. 10/10 will eat here everytime I have to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Delicious food, great and knowledgeable staff. Good prices. Clean and comfortable atmosphere.
Loved our meal at Thai Manao! Food was delicious and they also had great staff and a very nice atmosphere! We went as a family of 5, the staff were great with our three girls.
Love their pad thai and spring rolls!
Quality, quantity and cost are all good, not great.
The food was delicious but the customer service was poor
