The patio is lovely and view is beautiful. We were here on a beautiful summer day and had high expectations. We were very disappointed at the food. Staff was friendly but MIA. This place has so much potential, but my experience was not good.
Great location, GREAT food, fantastic service. We had the red haired, lovely server. I'm a celiac and she MADE SURE I understood what is available. The chef, and perhaps owner, came out to reassure me. Well done !!!! I appreciate the extra effort, I truly appreciate it!!
TLDR: Avoid this place at all costs! It took us 15 minutes to get water. Drink orders wouldn't come for 20 minutes. Overall, appetizers and two drinks took 2 hours. Absolutely shocking service. Drinks were overpriced. An 8oz single Caesar was $11. We ordered nachos and the red pepper dip at the same time but finished the nachos before the dip arrived. The nachos were well garnished but soggy. We didn't get a second sour cream as initially ordered. We mentioned it to the waitress and she confirmed but it never came. The red pepper and spinach dip comes in a two oz bowl. I was under the impression the dip was a side at first. The kettle chips were fried in old oil and were soggy. After ordering appetizers our menus were taken and we were never offered mains. It is a great place to watch the sun but the cheap poolside restaurant vibe is counter to the elegance of the Delta. It's a completely contrasted experience with the Stmr which we love.
Very slow service. It wasn't busy at all. ***Update*** (Removed 1 Star from 2, because there is no option for 0) 2nd visit again my judgement However about 10-15 tables available They decline to sit us for couples of drinks & nachos because we had no reservations. What I gather is this do not drop by unless you have a reservation. Funny i was able to get a table from STMR36 first they welcome my business & they accomodate me as I sat & watch the crowd at Dip 7-8 tables were still empty as I was leaving after having my quick meal & a drink. Unable to capture full pic on the other side due to umbrellas were in the way
Best place to get that down south feeling in New Brunswick. Beautiful outside pool with a DJ, great drinks and food and right on the Saint John River.
This is one of my favourite spots in the city for a lunch date. Not only do you get to enjoy the sunshine and a great view of the river. You also get delicious poolside drinks, like the Strawberry Mango Daiquiri I thoroughly enjoyed. AND a similar and equally delicious menu to that of STMR.36. THEIR NACHOS, THO, PEOPLE. THEIR. NA. CHOS. You can never go wrong with this spot. An amazing team in an amazing hotel, serving up amazing F&B goodness!
Awesome meal as usual. Expect big portions. I had the brisket poutine. Amazing, but it is a sharing portion.
Beautiful spot overlooking the river on a perfect August night! We enjoyed the clams (So fresh) with gluten free cheese toast - thank you!! The clam chowder was one of the best we’ve ever had! Our server was attentive and pleasant. It was a busy place and we can understand why!
Closed and rebranded as the drift per huddle. today/2022/06/30/delta-fredericton-opens-its-instagramable-1-million-renovated-pool-and-patio/
Closed for good
Quite expensive. Just can t justify $16 for a drink at a pool bar. $100($15 tip included)for 2 burgers and 2 drinks is insane in my opinion. It s too bad because the patio is nice but just can t justify the prices.
Snooty staff. $10.30 for 1in house beer
Great restaurant
Great service. Fair prices and large portions. Not a large menu but something for everyone.
Best patio in the city
Good food. Good portions.
The experience was amazing . The atmosphere excellent the service was excellent they were polite and had a good laugh . Definitely will be going back . And the food was off the chart amazing.
Service was good, food was good but having my glass of wine in a small plastic patio wine glass is a turn off and having a bowl of plastic for my food, I pay for my food/drink and I expect more than that, not cool at all...
Amazing view, music, food, and just overall vibe. The live music was so fun and the fire beside a wonderful background of the st. John River was so memorable. Highly recommend
Was beautiful music at bar was too loud food and service was great
Just loveeeee , its beautifull very good food and the wait is kind of long but worth it for the view.
Planned a weekend at the Delta with the intention of spending much of out time out on the patio and the weather cooperated nicely. The first night was perfect. Not a big crowd and the pool bar was closed as it had rained earlier in the day, but we were able to bring our drinks from the lobby bar and had a fantastic time. The second evening was much more lively with the pool bar open and some great music. It was unfortunate that our reservation for a table on the upper level with restaurant service was apparently lost but we made the best of it. The only disappointment was our request earlier in the day to bring a special birthday dessert to one of our party who was celebrating a milestone birthday was also missed. Pretty hard to excuse this. There was a small wedding onsite and the group had reserved a table just down from us. Not long after those folks were seated, a parade of inebriated boaters started to make their way from the boat dock to the hotel via the patio, complete with coolers and beer in hand. Again, it was unfortunate that the wedding party had been seated directly beside the patio entrance and had to watch the boaters literally stagger by. For us, it was kind of comical to watch and take bets on who was going to face plant first. Most were wearing masks but a couple of gents gave a young waiter a hard time when they were asked to put on masks. Bottom line is we were happy with our package, except for the missed reservation, but I wouldnt recommend the Delta for a special event during the summer season. They do not have protocols in place to guarantee what should be a pleasant, non disruptive environment.
Good food and drink with a nice view !
Beautiful patio bar with good selection of drinks at fair prices.
Friends and I stopped by for appetizers after some paddle boarding. It was the first visit for all 4 of us. We were seated quickly and our server was prompt to take our drink orders. The atmosphere was very fun and energetic. A DJ was playing catchy music by the pool. Our food arrived hot and portions were awesome! I had enough sour cream and salsa for all of my chicken quesadillas. Our server checked on us a couple of times and we didnt have to wait for our bill or to make payment. Would definitely visit again!
Perfect location. Friendly staff. delicious food.
Wait time is awful, waiter took 30 minutes to see us after we were seated. Waited for food for over an hour and a half only to be told that it s taking really long because they only have one kitchen for 2-3 restaurants. Not impressed. Food was good but don t think it s worth the wait in the future.
Great service. Lunch special (salad/fries/mac and cheese, with whisky ribs, with creme brule for $15) clam chowder highly recommend!
Waited for an hour, flagged down the wait staff and was hit with a yeah, ill go find your waitress, then no one showed up take our order so we left.
The service and meal were great,!
Had to use the phone charger it worked great and I also had a glass of wine while I waited... Classic wine and charge
A great place to stop for lunch or cool drinks after a bike ride on the nearby bike traails which take you into the city of Fredericton easily and safely. Food was tasty and hot, drinks were yummy and cold, service was friendly and fast. What else can you ask for?
We went to go to the Dip pool, and the staff at the front desk and at the bar were really nice and told us where to go, but the pool boy told us, that they are not allowing locals and that we could not stay, however, local friends of mine were there earlier and didn t have an issue. I m very disappointed. It just seems strange to me.
Awesome drinks and great view
Great food, great service and an unbelievable view!
The Dip at the Delta had ALWAYS been a great destination for both Fredericton locals AND folks visiting. The views are magnificent, live music is amazing in this outdoor venue and the food is awesome!! Hotel amenities are endless with a gift shop (very well curated) BRAND NEW Restaurant STMR is gorgeous- we cant say enough-
Great view. Run-of-the-mill food.
Great food
They do a very nice nacho plate. Its pretty hard to make standard nacho fare stand out but their upside down bowl construction is unique and fun and they season their chips. The only fault is that, on occasion, they do not layer the toppings between the chips so any chips on bottom are bare. The blandness, however, is partially offset by the seasoning. I just really like snacking on their nachos, which are substantial and last for a while.
Great place to enjoy a drink overlooking the Saint john river..
Good food! However, lousy service! (Had to wait over an hour for our food!) ... Evening meal menu is quite expensive for the portion of food!
Thought I would give this place another chance before writing a review. I rarely give a one star so I want to be sure first. Both visits were bad. We sat for nearly 15 minutes on an average busy night without a drink menu or a server offering food. So we left. Found another place where we got great food and service. I wont be back for the third attempt. Beautiful view... That is all.
The price of the cover charge at $15 is a bit high but the service was great!
Been the same for years. No improvement but not bad either.
Lots of free parking on site. On nice days it can be very busy. Getting a seat pool side can be difficult on a busy day. There are also lots of tables on the patio outside of the enclosed pool seating area. $15 per person to go into the pool area of you are not a hotel guest. Towels available from the bar. The bar is not a swim up bar at all. No glassware within the pool area itself.
Great food, awesome service
One of the nicest spots in Freddy but plagued by very slow service
It was fun on a hot summer day. A bit pricey ($15) to use the pool as a non-hotel guest but understandable I guess otherwise it would be packed. Food was okay, drinks were great. Service was a bit slow.
Great location food is good...not great.
Took ridiculously long to get served, and food took very long to come out. Servers did not check on table throughout either.
One of the best spots in the city to lounge by a pool, enjoy food and drinks with a beautiful view of the St.John river.
Dissappointed
Great atmosphere and mostly an excellent place to chill, but the music can be too intrusive and its not cheap
Super great place to chill in the sun Pool is clean staff are very helpful and take great care of you.
Wonderful patio outside for the good weather. Good service and friendly. Reasonable prices for hotel dining.
Swimming and having a good burger. What an ideal place!
Great summer time restaurant, fantastic view of the Saint John River. Top quality food.
It takes a while to get seated at a table but the food was good and the staff was nice.
Waited a long long time for our food. Server checked up maybe once to see if our drinks needed to be filled in 45 minutes. Then started raining while sitting outside, not a big deal since no one can control the weather, but was told to take our plates inside, pointed towards a door, and told to find our own seat. Thought at least since we had to wait to be seated in the first place that at least our server would help us find a seat inside. The food was bland and tasted like it was left out too long, I had fish so it made my stomach turn a little. The tarter sauce I would not recommend as it was oddly sour. Overall, I know the delta aims for better so I was very disappointment by my experience and also embarrassed that I had told my guests from out of town that I recommended this place to eat. Will not likely be making that recommendation again anytime soon.
Good food nice view slow service little pricey
Great food an atmosphere. Servers are nice, but the kitchen took almost an hour to prepare our food on a semi-busy night.
There are three restaurants inside the hotel. Because of the cold, rainy weather the outdoor patio was closed tonight. They were nice enough to let us know that we could sit in whatever restaurant we wanted and order from any of the three menus. So we opted for the more traditional restaurant , Catch, as we evaluated the menus. The view was beautiful despite the weather. Service was great.
Only eaten there once and I can honestly say it was the worst service I have ever had. Waitress took our parties drink order and never returned. So after about 25min of waiting I had to go track her down to take our food order. She told me she thought we were just getting drinks ( but in the 25min of waiting never came to ask if we needed a new drink) so after we ordered food we waited a little over an hour for our food to come. This place was not busy at all and from the looks of things it was not understaffed either. Of course when we were ready to pay our bill the Waitress had to come back 3 different times to make sure she had the right drinks and meals on the right bill. When we got the bill they were of course not right. From start to finish the meal was just over 3 hours long and the food was just ok. Would not recommend this place
