If you want a home cooked meal and a friendly atmosphere, this restaurant is an excellent option. The waitress was excellent, the ambiance was welcoming, and even the fellow patrons had smiles. The food, though simple, was well prepared, felt hearty, and tasted like mom made it. This is one of the few restaurants I look forward to returning to.
The food tastes great and the portions are excellent!
Stopped in Fredericton for a couple of days and had a late lunch of Turkey dinner my wife had the blueberry pancakes. Food was great and the lady that took care of us was really friendly.
Although I did not have a chance to eat here yet I did have an opportunity to service some of there equipment. I met the owner and crew and the conversation we had wad so delightful I left there that day full. They are wonderful people and all I hear around town are rave reviews. Looking forward to eating here soon.
The food, the service, and the atmosphere are great at the cabin! My eggs were actually fried over medium, like I asked. The breakfast poutine was a little overwhelming, and I was not expecting the overload of hollandaise sauce that was all over the top. So I hope you love hollandaise sauce. lol Club sandwich was out of this world! Delicious!
Stopped in for the lobster roll... Had to take a couple pics. Was full of lobster... So much that some fell out onto my plate as I was eating. Delicious and worth every penny. One of the best I've ever had.
Stopped by on a maritime road trip. Tasty lobster roll, with huge chunks of lobster! The fries were crispy and not greasy. The location is very homey and filled with memorabilia. Staff was friendly and even hosted us right before closing time!
This place is all about the wonderful people who own this place, work at this place and the down home welcome. The coffee's hot and never ending! Service is the best in town. If you're hungry this is the place to go; delicious fresh food prepared by the best cooks in town!
Great spot!
Great spot
Cool little spot my girlfriend showed me, burger was huge, poutine was very good, service was awesome, will be back!
My favorite breakfast spot in town, old timey diner feel, great food at a good price!
Food is awesome, people are great it, portions are large too, seems to always be busy.
Great food. Excellent service. Prices are fair. The ambience of the cabin is lovely.
Excellent good food at reasonable prices with great staff.
Food was great and the staff wonderful.
Honestly they need to expand... people are waiting for tables here. The good is amazing. The service is very polite and swift and the atmosphere is relaxing and homey Needs more parking and they need to expand.
A well known spot by the locals Im sure ! What a great spot for lunch. If yer ever in Fredericton check it out.
Service was fast and friendly. Coffee was fresh and endless. Food was cooked to perfection. Overall amazing experience and would definitely eat here again.
Love the lobster roll special. The staff there are so welcoming love this place. Club sandwich is amazing too.
Visiting New Brunswick, I loved The Cabin s Eggs Benedict, delicious and charming. Highly recommend!
Great meal with great service. A perfect Saturday breakfast spot.
Great dining experience for our first time. Service was polite and fast. 10/10, will dine again! Food
I havent been here in yrs! Home cooking at its finest. A hot turkey sandwich brought me back to my childhood. It was so good! Every time i come back to visit NB, this will be a stop for sure
Food and service are amazing, but the place needs an update. I know its part of the atmosphere and character, but its getting run down.
Great home-cooked meals served by genuinely kind staff in a cozy environment. Feel free to use the jukeboxes
My husband and I had hot turkey sandwiches we thought it would be Real turkey like the menu showed but it was bag turkey definitely not fresh and it was disgusting!!!!!! The waitress who served us was kind and apologized and the cooks just sat at the counter and didnt say anything which I thought was rather rude never eating here again!!!!!
My fiance and I always enjoy going to this restaurant. The food is very fresh and made to order, delicious and tasty. The staff are amazing and friendly. The prices are very reasonable as well.
Absolutely love this little gem. If you are looking for good food... A cozy trip back in time this is for you hands down. Food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly!!!
Great food, good ppl
A great local diner.
Get taken back to a time when restaurants actually cared about how you and your mother are doing. Sit down and enjoy the cozy decor while youre reading the hilariously bad trivia questions from the weekly flier. Bathroom is raunchy but does the trick. One bike rack is available in the back. One of the only breakfast restaurants open on holidays.
Best food and service in Fredericton. The staff are amazing, the portion sizes are wonderful. There isnt a bad thing on the menu.
Was a great breakfast wonderful service and it was mothers day and they gave me a rose
My friend and I came to dine. While waiting for a table we could see the kitchen area and everyone working very hard. It was a very tight space. As we were watching I saw a cook whip his knife on his shirt and the proceeded to cut a wrap in half. This was almost a deal breaker for us. I chose to believe his shirt was clean. I would recommend aprons or clothes to clean knives off in the future The waitresses were amazing, fast and very friendly and efficient. Thank you for your service.
Great place to eat. Everything on the menu is available all day. Happy and terrific staff. Highly recommended!
First time there, was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent and staff so lovely.
Great food very friendly staff
I stopped by the cabin for some fish and chips. They were excellent! They had a fireplace with a fire going; warmed the place up nice on the cold winter afternoon.
Great food, quick service and priced right. Lobsters roll and bread pudding..YUM!!
They have changed pricing. I used to be able to get the fish and chips 3 pieces for $24 tax in. Now, the 2 pieces are 19.99, and an extra piece of fish is $9 extra. I still love the food, but its overpriced now. What a shame.
After a long hard day of work three of us went to the cabins. I had the best meal I have eaten in a long time. Have Ben sick for months after a head trauma and this is the first time I was able to eat my full meal. We then went to leave and the starter went on the truck. On a holiday night closing time for them. The owners son was working and drove us home to Stanley such wonderful people
Not going to lie. I was looking forward to dining here since moving to the area last year. It looked like a sure bet for a nice dinner out. Honestly I cant comment on the food as we didnt order. We entered and were greeted kind of?? The volume of music near the first table we were offered was LOUD..no problem..moved to another table near the window. It was literally hard to focus on menu selection with the music volume and nature of the music. I love music and we play music at home at dinner but this was crazy. I suppose I could have asked to have it turned down but its not my house. In the meantime the curtains next to us were beyond filthy...really! And a lot of the visible area was dirty?? Why? If the dining area is dirty what is back of house like where we cant see? I fully realize it is a cabin but even cabins can be clean. Not like the menu was any cheaper than any other similar restaurant in town. Perhaps I missed out big time?? I will never know. Best of luck as I do love supporting independent restaurants.
Even though the Cabin does not really offer vegan choices , we like to come here to eat. Always good quality food items with good taste. The prices went up quite a bit over the years, but the Cabin is still one of our favorite places to go. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp
Fantastic home cooked food. Cozy atmosphere.
Ive learned that the Cabin is an institution in Fredericton. You can clearly see that from the reviews. If youre looking for that classic diner feel with nice staff, the Cabin is your place. If you care about the quality of food at all, however, go somewhere else. My wife and I spent $50 combined on very subpar food. I got a wrap that was small and ridiculously dry. My wife got a burger that was, again, small and very lacking in flavour and colour. Both came with a mountain of what tasted like oven crinkle cut fries. I was disappointed having heard so many great things. The ratings and high reviews seem to be purely a result of nostalgia or a time before the quality dipped to what it is now. Im giving it a 2 for the kind staff, but I wouldnt recommend it.
Growing up in Fredericton, The Cabin has always been a comforting experience for me. Recently, I decided to introduce a couple of friends who arent from here to the restaurant. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by an unpleasant encounter with an older, blond woman who seems to work every Tuesday. Throughout the day, she exhibited condescending and rude behavior towards us. My order, a turkey dinner, arrived as a hot turkey sandwich. When I brought this to her attention, she insisted that I was mistaken and refused to acknowledge the error. Despite the familiar taste of the food from my childhood, the overall experience was overshadowed by the womans rudeness. The atmosphere conveyed an attitude of indifference, as if they were successful with or without our patronage. Disheartened by the poor service, my friends and I have decided to explore other restaurants in the future, and we will not be returning to The Cabin.
Cozy, fresh, and generous. Great quality, large portions. Don t miss their daily specials!
Even with a line up out the door, the wait might have been 15 minutes and well worth it.
A Fredericton staple. Great food, friendly atmosphere, good place to have a meal.
A classic roadside diner experience. Ive been going here for years. When I bring folks there from out of town they are absolutely amazed.
More like home food.
Parking: Parking lot around the back. Food
Would love their booths back... a bit more private.
One of my favourite restaurants in the world. Good prices and great food. Parking: 6 spots or so in the back, three in the front and a few spots across the street. Food : 5/5 |
Best breakfast in Fredericton.
always love the cabin, best pancakes around
Everything is very delicious!! Recommended
I was only in town for a few days. This spot was recommended on google and a couple locals. I ordered a lobster roll and an order of fried clams with chips. I was very very impressed, and waves of nostalgia hit me as I remembered by times in NB growing up. It s possible to get lobster in Ontario, but good luck with fried clams. The service here was very friendly, the woman serving us was likely an owner or manager, no complaints! To top it off she offered us some homemade pie, and we opted for the homemade bread pudding which was absolutely phenomenal. It was like something I would expect to be served at my grandmothers house. This is a must visit in Fredericton, great food, nice local atmosphere, friendly service.
Great food and friendly staff
Just a quaint little restaurant with great service and food!
Great place!
Lots of meat comes with breakfast which was a great breakfast surprise! Everything was cooked great. Busy spot but friendly staff
Fantastic food, quick service and pleasant staff. Great environment to be in as well!
Great place to eat, good food and great service
They make pretty good food there that they do
Delicious food and great service!
My absolute favorite restaurant in town! A must try!!!
Good food you wont be disappointed in this place and you get your money worth
Awsome place , I want one of the Pepsi Glasses for my collection. Parking: Not big enough. Need more room Food : 5/5 |
I get that its been around a while and its somewhat nostalgic but the food needs a makeover. Unless your into your moms cooking when you go out to eat. Cant say I wont go back but Im surprised its still around, must be the regular crowd and pleasant server I guess.
Food was excellent. Good tasting and good size portions. Lobster pieces as big as my thumb. The Cabin is literally a cabin on the side of the road, license plates on the wall and old time music boxes at each table. A step back in history.
Friendly staff and great service. Homestyle cooking!
Great spot cant wait to go back
Love going to The Cabin! The atmsphere is great and we love Mandys food.
This Breakfast spot is probably the best thing about Fredericton. Holy moly the food was incredible and the atmosphere is like you stepped inside a time machine and were taken back to the 50s. Such a cool spot! Highly recommended
homey ambiance and very friendly staff.
Good Foods Wow Mothers Foods...
It was a smaller diner than i expected but you could it was a place that the locals hang out as most knew each other by name. The decor was like stepping back in time. I enjoyed the cabin and would go back. The guy at the table next to me ordered a pancake and one pancake was the same size as the dinner plate. It was good value for the price. I had the steak and eggs.
Awesome food and and the service was great as well
A must! Delicious Fresh fried clams. Lovely dinner. Lovely waitresses.
Fun little place with good food!!
Best pancakes ever! Its so delicious. The atmosphere is simple and very warm. An excellent address where you absolutely must stop if you are in Fredericton!
Great breakfast spot! Excellent value, great portion sizes and friendly service.
Wow..awesome breakfast
It was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Big Stop Irving, much better. I heard great reviews about the place, but my experience was not so great. Very friendly staff. Very run down and dirty. The bathroom had what appeared to be old chip fryer finger tip deep grease in the grout lines of the flooring. You could wipe it out with your finger like it was placed there on purpose. Old cabin feel and run down 2 very different things. This place needs a deep clean.
Good food and great service.
We love the homie atmosphere at the Cabin! We love coming for breakfast when coming to Fredericton. Today my spouse got a big breakfast, they did forget his side of bacon but came quickly once it was pointed out. He actually ate his pancakes (he often doesnt at other places), I tried the meatloaf with poutine. poutine had a good chicken gravy and had shredded and curd cheese was good. The meatloaf was very delicious but was very dry. An easy way to help would be a beef gravy drizzle on it. I still enjoyed it because of the gravy from the poutine. We did have to ask twice for water. honest mistake, waitress was still very welcoming and nice. We left content with full bellies. Will be back.
PERFECT! Period. And to the cook at the time that noticed that I was enjoying his work. WELL DONE SIR
Sorry for this bad review ... I just cant wrap my head around all the good reviews! From the terrible parking, awful food and absolutely dirty decorations/antiques. It looks like they try hard to create a nostalgic atmosphere, but everything they have on display is filthy. I was so disappointed. :( I read so many good reviews and was super excited to try this place out. The food was dry. Dry Dry Water .. from the tap. No ice. And the French fries, Im sure, came from Giant Tiger in a frozen bag. I couldnt finish my meal because it was so dry, I couldnt chew it. I could barely swallow it. Just terrible. And expensive!! Ive been to far better places for much less. Sorry folks. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Service was great though!
Had a club sandwich for pick up.... It was delicious, kind waitresses but atmosphere is too tight and loud.
The Cabin Restaurant has been a part of my life, 48 years so far, and it has not changed very much in those years. The food is always delicious. My partner says they have the best Seafood Chowder and the best Lobster Roll in town! Follow them on Facebook for daily specials like the Lobster Roll Special! Hands down the best diner in Fredericton, dont tell everyone!
Cool retro 50s decor, solid breakfast spot.
Great food and great service. One of the best breakfast places in the entire country.
Food was good and for a great low price! Pretty cramped though
Don t sleep on the pancakes! Whatever they do to cook them gives them a lovely crumpet texture, delicious. This place is simple, classic, greasy spoon diner and the food was lovely. Teeny tiny Fredericton staple.
The neat place within Freddy, has a history on the wall to view. Egg Benedict is a must.
Always a pleasant experience at the Cabin the food is good, service is great, and the prices are reasonable. The ambiance is really all one could ask for in a diner.
Nice experice and love the atmosphere. The lobster roll special on Sunday cant be beat and tastes good too
There pies are the best
Really busy and the restaurant is small so feels really crowded but still definitely worth the food and service
Sooo much character in this place! Its small, but serves amazing food! Try the bread pudding - its fabulous! Parking: Some parking in front and lots around the back of the building.
Super cute place with pretty great food, lots of decorations and memorabilia. The staff was incredible efficient and friendly, they worked seamlessly through the rush and the environment was clean, cozy, and welcoming.
My favourite restaurant in Fredericton , classic homemade diner food with the best poutine in town. Love you guys! Wendy is a gem!
I had a very good turkey club takeout for dinner the night before and due to it I went back for breakfast. This is comfort food everyone not fine dining. If you are looking for a very good meal with excellent service you are going to the right place. They asked how I wanted my eggs and home fries cooked. The waitress was super fast in refilling the coffee. The coffee was a little weak but that is a personal preference. If you are looking for comfort food this will make you happy with big portions. I have never been asked if I want my home fries cooked on the griddle or deep fried ever. It is obviously popular with the local population as it was full at 8:30 am on a Sunday. It is small but every table was full and when someone left someone else immediately took the space. Old roadhouse decor. Service was fast and food was very good for a reasonable price. I will be going back. Parking: There is enough parking given the small number of seats available Kid-friendliness: There were a few families there with kittle kids. The children were happy and the parents were relaxed Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp at the back entrance
The Cabin never disappoints. The servers are very busy but there is no waiting,. I give 5 stars for service, food and atmosphere.
Had a wonderful visit. Great food and service!
Loved the lobster roll, it was absolutely delicious. And the service was spot on, great place to visit when in town.
Amazing food, prices, and staff.
The cabin is the best old school hearty breakfast you can have! If you want to be full warm and full its definitely the place to spend your meal
Had some fried clams and onion rings. Very good place to eat. Hamburgers are very thin, so I dont recommend them so much. Everything is home made.
Stopped in before leaving town. Great cold lobster roll, loaded with meat. Will definitely stop by next time. Food : 5/5
Excellent breakfast.
What a wonderful and down to Earth experience in a little known place that is frequented by locals. Off the road, you would probably not want to visit it because it looks pretty dingy however, you would be missing out on some great food and sweet, lovely service. The inside is very traditional and old-fashioned, the food is also comfort Canadian food but of course she has lobster rolls which are some of the best Ive had in the country. Apparently they also make their own pies from scratch and they are on special every Thursday. This is a highly recommended place to stop by and visit. The place has been around since 1954 and law made it continue. Good, simple, wholesome Canadian culture. Parking: Several parking spots in front and lots of parking spots at the back
Quick and friendly service. The works omelet breakfast was amazing. The portions were so much we couldnt even finish what we had ordered. The food came out quickly. I will definitely come back.
What can you say when its exactly what I wanted. You will not be disappointed!
Solid place, and the owner is a gem.
Just had the fish and chips special. It was fantastic.. As always. Thank you for a great experience. Food
Good food, great service
Was an amazing Rast beef dinner. So tender and gravy from scratch. Havent had a bad thing there ever.
Great food, customer service and atmosphere is friendly and cozy. The can be a little bit stronger, but their pancakes are amazing, we always choose them over the coffee mill, better portions and prices. Kid-friendliness: Their pancakes are huge, so we just do the order of pancakes and we split it among the kids, pretty sweet deal! :)
The service was awesome. The food was amazing. The atmosphere is cozy. Love it. Ill be back again and again.
Very good, very fresh food at a fantastic price
OMG -what a great surprise! My friend ordered me the Lobster Club with fries - it was delicious!Lots of Lobster! First time there - Ill be back!
Had a wonderful, first time experience. Food was great and the server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back, same time next week.
Every dish made with love.. I receive it with every bite! Staff rock! Past and present
Worse hot turkey sandwich I ever had. Turkey was dry and gravy was horrible.
The cabin restaurant has a great atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and the service was great. Love all the history on the walls. I got the steak and eggs. You get a whole steak with the eggs and home fries. Good portion sizes. If you want to step back in time, this is the place to go.
The staff is so nice and friendly. If you enjoy a home cooked meal then this is the place to visit.
The food and service were both excellent! My only complaint was that the parking area was very tight for a large SUV.
Such sweet people running the place and a really cute atmosphere. The service was very fast and the pancakes were excellent!
Great staff, great food, breakfast potatoes two ways. Tiny place but worth the wait
What a spot to go ! The food was spot on and the prices were good. The kids loved the jukeboxes and playing the songs. Very friendly staff also. Totally recommend it.
Huge servings, had the big fella and could not finish it all. Next the breakfast poutine.
My food was good. But we were the last clients of the night, and they started to mop the floors around our table before we were done eating. FYI: It isnt very pleasant to eat your food while smelling strong cleaning supplies.
Excellent service good food!
Great food, amazing service! Only place I know that serves meatloaf and pork chops on the same menu. And I mean you get two pork chops with your meal.
A typical small town family run business- great food and service with fabulous prices. Portions were on the smaller side but enough for one person. Very homely feel and ambience with friendly staff. Parking is available outside and its not in the bigger areas so its not crowded. Saw a jukebox at each table but not sure it works.
Had the lobster club.. fantastic! Love this place. Friendly, great staff, great food and great pricing!!
Were getting addicted to the delicious food here!
Small (7 tables) local diner. Interesting decor. Had the lobster roll and lobster BLT. They were good, nothing special. Good service. Entrance is in the back. Parking: A few spaces in front, more in the rear.
Great as always!!
Food is soooo good and huge portions. Definitely worth every cent. Staff was incredibly friendly
Great
Must visit place in Fredericton. Great food with classic jukebox
Nice little place! Not much standing room while you wait for a table, but the wait is worth it. Deep fried potatoes were crispy delicious and the pancakes were light and fluffy. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. Ill be visiting The Cabin again soon!
Charming, excellent service and great portions. The lobster roll with poutine was divine and large enough for two. The grilled cheese and corn chowder was also great crispy, cheesy and creamy. Some tables have jukeboxes. It s obviously a local favorite. Can t recommend enough if you re looking for a local experience with great food!
A must go to enjoy home made food in a fun and interesting gallery of nostalgia.
A classic 1950s Diner at its best.
Parking: A little tight, but manageable. Who cares? The food is FANTASTIC! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp needs a flush piece between ramp and pavement.
Really quaint diner, great food and a truly local atmosphere, very relaxed and low key.
So glad we stopped in. Was on the hunt for a dinner spot, and happened to cruise by. Everything was amazing! Kid-friendliness: Booster seat available.
Great service and the best lemon meringue pie Ive ever had!!
I know that certain restaurants want to push their select carbs to the public toast and potatoes. To the body, those are two carb options or two pancakes. Luckily I had a server who let me sub out at least the toast for a pancake and I polished those off. Unfortunately, I discovered that their scrambled eggs are not very desirable and I won t get them that way again. Also, the ham steak was a bit too marbleized for my tastes but the burnt sausage? Divine! Get the coffee - it s cheap and enjoy some comfort food!
Food was exceptional
A bit pricey, but great food value overall.
Best place ever to eat and they are ever so friendly. We loved it there and will definitely be back . Highly recommend. Hi wendy and all of you. Mary and Wally Food
Consistently great!
Family favorite for over forty years. Had a very nice breakfast in a diner environment.
Real good home-cooked meals!
Wonderful traditional... Just perfect Food
It was okay, cute little spot.
