Welcome to the Namaste Kitchen, a subsidiary of Namaste Bistro. Curries made from fresh quality ingredients with love & care. Authentic and unauthentic Indian recipes with deep flavors. Our head chef has created a menu that caters to everyone’s dietary needs- from seafood curries to vegan curries, from nachos to grilled chicken and salmon, from small plates to selected dessert menu.
The food here is ok - not the worst Indian I’ve had, but definitely not the best (garlic cilantro naan had a weird chemical taste - didn’t taste like fresh herbs were used; meat was decent but not abundant; spice was good). The service, however. was bad from the start. It should have been a sign that no one was answering the phone during business hours when I first tried to make a reservation. When we arrived, there was no one at the desk. We ended up standing around for probably 10 minutes, waiting to be seated. After that, it was probably 20 minutes before somebody showed up to ask if we were ready to order. We put in a drink order and waited a while for that to show up. After that, we waited again and had to actually flag the server down to ask if we could order food. Once the food did get ordered, we waited almost an hour for it to come out (nothing unusual in our order). People who were seated after us ordered, got their food, ate it, and left before we even got our meal. Meanwhile, there was a steady stream of takeout orders leaving the building. We wanted coffee after our meal but honestly didn’t have the patience to wait any more (we’re at almost 2.5 hours at this point). One of the members of my group actually ended up having to leave before we were done eating because they had another engagement to get to. The place did seem kind of busy, but it only has about 12 tables and there seemed to be 4 severs working, plus a couple of guys who were maybe managers or an owner? I don’t know what was going on, but it was disappointing, and no one bothered to apologize for any of the delays. The server was friendly, so I guess there’s that. This experience was also embarrassing because I had recommended the place to my out-of-town dinner guests. Though I had not been there before, I had heard good things, and I thought it was owned by the people who own Taste of India in Charlottetown. That’s a fantastic restaurant and I expected the same from this place. Long story short, I won’t be back.
We frequently enjoy eating at Namaste and usually have a really great experience but unfortunately our last visit, we got denied service. My partner went inside ahead of me to ask if we could get served before 3:00 (2:40) He was told yes and was seated by a server. Once seated and then I came up, we were denied restaurant service and takeout service by Arsh. While Arsh denied us service, she was eating her lunch out in the dining room in front of customers. She conducted herself in an unprofessional manner and was rude to us. We are very disappointed because we really enjoy dining at the restaurant but unfortunately, we won’t be back because she embarrassed us and made us feel very uncomfortable.
Food was very good. We ordered everything mild and the sauces were still flavourful. Service was fast. Price was reasonable. The atmosphere is lacking, but after talking to a local, their original building burnt down and this space is getting them through in the interim. Good for this business!
We ordered our food and after 45 mins they gave our food to a different table and we have to wait another 20 min for it and after that they gave us uncooked food we have to wait another 15 min for it to get it. And we asked for cheesecake and they gave ask ice cream said they forgot what it was.
The service and the food were fantastic. The staff were kind and helpful with the food selections. I will be returning there on a regular basis. The dish I had was the spinach curry with beef and it came with buttered naan bread...Oh my goodness it was so good ! Even the leftovers were fantastic.
The atmosphere isn't what you'd expect from a typical Indian restaurant but the food is very good! And honestly, the view of the curling arena is pretty interesting. The service was friendly. The menu offers lots of options, the prices are reasonable and parking is free and plentiful. Did I mention that the food is very good 😊
Some of the best Indian food I've had since I went to London. We had the chicken spinach curry and the dahl makhani and they were full of flavour and cooked well. It was an unexpected atmosphere for a restaurant (it's in a curling club lounge) but it was so weird it actually worked. It's definitely a first for me and that's the quirky things I like to find when I'm on a road trip. It definitely helps that the food is 5* worthy though! The only reason I took a star off for the atmosphere was that I think some music would help to give a better mood. The echo and silence felt a bit weird. The staff were really friendly and efficient too!
The tastiest Indian food I had in Fredericton. Freshly baked naan and food made the correct way. The atmosphere could be improved to make it cozier. It has a sports bar look that does not go well with the cuisine.
This place never disappoints no matter what you order . Everything is very good . Last night we visited and had wonderful supper ( paneer korma and biryani is our favourite all the time ) special thanks to chef and their gesture.
Bullshit customer service Never going back Food
A unique experience with delicious food served overlooking the curling rink.
I Love the food and restaurant but the new takeout portion sizes are completely ridiculous. Kids meal size.
Food was great but doesn t have much options of main course food.
Whoever took over the management is horrible. Wait times are absolutely ridiculous and the food quality has drastically went down. Crazy expensive for such a poor experience everytime as of recently.
Ive visited all Namaste locations numerous times as the food is always good, but was very diasppointed at the service we received yesterday. We only received our appetizer and drink when we were almost finished the appetizer. Our mains never came despite being told theyd be right out twice. First, without asking, the server assured us it would be out soon and then again (approximately 40 minutes after that) when we requested the bill as we were tired of waiting especially since theyd served multiple larger tables that came and ordered after us (a table of two). After the first two tables were served that had ordered after us and we still hadnt received our food, we decided we were going to go elsewhere if it didnt come next. When they served the table of three next to us that had come in much later than us, we asked for the bill. The server told us she was sure it must be ready now and left. She did not come back. So we got up and went to the counter. My husband wanted to just leave as he was so fed up. She tended to a couple other tables while we waited at the counter and she then came to the counter at the top of the stairwell that was crowded with Skip drivers and takeout customers. Perhaps too much for two servers. She gave us the bill for our appetizer and two beer (that we drank half of while waiting for our food). She said we could pay for the food and take it out. I said no as wed waited so long already, didnt want to wait longer, and they served many ahead of us. Then she informed us our order hadnt even been put in yet. Im glad I hadnt paid to take it out at that point - as another server had come to the counter and was holding a takeout bag that couldve presumably been ours (it wasnt). Very off-putting that they charged us for such an unpleasant experience and we had to go elsewhere to eat so late. The customer beside us told us her family waited 2.5 hours on another visit. And she had been waiting a long time for her food as well. When she got it, she had to send the chicken back because it was cold. The last time we visited this location, Id ordered a vegetarian meal, but was served butter chicken. My husband was also served someone elses dish. This was not an issue for me as Im not vegetarian and like butter chicken, but could be for someone who is or who has food allergies.
Delicious appetizers.
It was really awesome food Made my day Food
Delicious! The food is great and the service is wonderful. Be prepared for a bit of a wait on food if youre dining in. Its worth it though!
Ordered 5 meals for pick up. Picked up and drove home with the order and one meal was missing. Had to scramble to feed one of our party
Vegetarian options: Chaat, paneer curry , gulab jamun, papadum, etc Food
Very bad experience
Disgusting
Not good
Delicious butter chicken!
Best place in town for Indian food. highly recommended
Food was great!! Owner was very polite and humble. Will Definitely be back
It was great experience. Extra ordinary food and service. Must visit.
Wicket Vegetarian options: Everything great Dietary restrictions: Exceptional Parking: So nice
Everything was delicious and tasty.
Our first time eating here was so delicious. We will be back for sure!
The food was phenomenal. We had the Butter Chicken and Cheese Stuffed Naan for dinner, and the Gulab Jamun for dessert. This was one of the best meals we have had. The service was fabulous. Everyone working was kind, friendly, and genuine. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.
The order got mixed up first. Then the server forgot what we ordered later. I was told by server that my kid will get run over as he was playing on floor. That way was not friendly. & then they mixed up the bill as well. Disappointed by today s experience. Kid-friendliness: I didn t find the place kid friendly cuz the way server told me in an unfriendly way
Hands down one of my favorite food in the city. I hope that you are able to get the property downtown, it would be a perfect location for your amazing food. I loved your previous location, I booked the private room for my sister and moms bday. I look forward to see whats next. Love love love the food and highly recommend to all! 2 thumbs up and 5 stars all around!
Actually Indian food! And you can watch whatever game is going on.
I would recommend placing the order a couple days in advance for dine-in otherwise be ready to wait for eternal life. Bills would be mixed up and that wanna-be manager guy who is just running around the floor thinks I am doing myself a favor coming here. Rude would be a compliment for him.
Very happy that Namaste is open again in Fredericton, this time at the curling club. The menu found online is not the same menu as the pub fare eat-in menu so if you re planning on eating in, keep that in mind (2024 UPDATE: menu is the same eat-in or takeout) . I ordered take out. I love their daal so much and it tastes the same as it did at the Namaste Bistro! They use black lentils and add some red kidney beans which are tender and delicious. The sauce is creamy and velvety smooth. On this occasion my husband was eating with me so we ordered chicken sabzi and a naan basket with plans to share everything. While I loved its flavour, I was a little disappointed in the chicken sabzi because it only had three cubes of chicken which made it difficult to share like we do most our Indian dishes. I enjoyed the sesame naan found in the naan basket and would order it again. If you like your naan stretchy and a little doughy you will love the naan at Namaste. It would make an excellent roti. Finally, you can choose your spice level at Namaste - the spice levels are authentically Indian spicy, so hot means hot! Dietary restrictions: Nut free kitchen other than desserts
Food quality really good but potion sizes are to little I ordered the chicken vandalo, I got 2 peices of chicken and 1 piece of potato for 30 bucks! And also they forgot my garlic naan bread. For the only indian food in Fredericton , this doesnt live up to a authentic indian restaurant.
Had yet another Fantastic Experience at Namaste Kitchen Fredericton. The food was absolutely superb. The service by Jason was awesome as always. Loaded Waffle Fries, Chicken Madras, Chicken Spinach Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan Basket was thoroughly enjoyed by the 3 of us. Food was so authentically awesome. Cant wait to go back. Loved the experience. Kim
We used a gift card at this location for a first time visit. We opted take out for a group of eight. All agreed Meal was excellent!! Definitely recommend!
At second location above capitol winter club,(curling rink).great staff, always great food. There and at miramichi
Went to namaste last weekend with a couple of friends, and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed! Delicous authentic foods, great variety, vegan/vegetarian friendly! Service was great, and the curling club atmosphere was a bit bizarre but added a fun touch to the evening! Appetizers, main courses and desserts, along with the cocktails, were all perfect! Also, 5$ draught beer for happy hour was a great deal! Will definitely be back, and will keep telling people to visit!
We have been there for valentines dinner. The food was good.staff was freindly I don t know the thin fair girl who served us she was very good the food was really amazing and fresh
Best Indian food in town!!
We had a fantastic experience tonight! The atmosphere was a bit strange at first but the service was great and the food was amazing! I would definitely recommend and will be back, soon! So good! Vegetarian options: I was impressed to see so many vegetarian options! It was exciting to have so many choices!
Probably the best indian food weve ever got! Friendly staff and also the curling down the arena made it interesting and different!
Best place for Indian food in Fredricton.
Happy to see Namaste back in operation, if only for takeout and delivery. Many customers will find medium spicy to be hot enough.
I had my first take out meal and it was excellent. Lots of menu choices including vegetarian and vegan. Great service when I picked up the food. Best of all, the food was delicious.
Amazing Indian food, they even made masala tea for me! Absolutely coming back! Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and lactose free options available. Food : 5/5 |
Sooo glad that theyre back! Best indian food in town! I love how they have a vegetarian option for almost every item on the menu and you can even choose the level of spiciness! The only thing is I had once ordered a paneer village curry and only got about 4 pieces of paneer which was quite disappointing for the price I had paid. Other than that, its always a fun experience at Namaste kitchen. Cant wait for them to open their own place just like before!!!!
Great tasting indian food.
Food is tasty but disappointed with the quantity of curries, for the price . Tried naan basket , paneer Tikka masala and dal makhani. Curries cannot be shared much due to quantity given. Ordered spicy and got spicy
Went here on late lunch date. My date had a Green Salad and Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Naan. My dates thoughts: Fantastic food, amicably priced. Chicken was as spicy as advertised, tender, well marinated and cooked to perfection. The butter sauce was rich, spicy enough to make an Indian happy. The mint chutney is the best shes had in Canada so far and places it in the top 3 globally. I myself had ordered spring rolls, coconut curry with Veggies AND Paneer and garlic naan. The coconut curry was great, Id say a 4.25 on a 5. I wouldve appreciated a little bit more coconut-ty-ness, the spicy level was as advertised, neither too spicy, nor too bland. Spring rolls were fantastic, just as subtle as they should be themselves. More importantly though, the sweet/sour dip/chutney was one of THE BEST Ive ever tried in Canada. Naan was good, but personally I prefer a little more airy naan than the one served. Our server Claire served us really well and politely. The wine pairing suggestions she provided were well adjuated too! Id definitely visit again if I am in the vicinity. The patio is a very cute and possibly happening one but I missed it since it was a very rainy weather out there. The seating in restaurant is good. Couldve been better but the way they are located, its a serviceable placement. Vegetarian options: Being an Indian Vegetarian myself, I am very happy with the options available, the way the menu has been organized and the service.
Seriously excellent Indian food! Good portions, and I love that dishes come with rice or naan.
Best Indian food in town, always delicious, and the staff is always courteous.
Food was very good, service was excellent. Prices are reasonable and worth for the quantity. Vegetarian options: Quite a number of vegetarian options Parking: Lots of parking available outside
Best North Indian food in NB. We had veggie Tikka masala, naan, rice and gulab jamun today. We requested food to be spicy and it was spicy :) and yummy. There is plenty of parking available. It was a good dining experience, would be visiting often :)
Amazingly delicious food. Very good service and all the staff is very nice. Always happy to order a good meal from the Namaste kitchen. Gulab Jamun+ ice cream dessert is a must.
sooo good!
Google maps says they are open. However between 3 and 4 pm the kitchen is closed. Wasted trip.
Food is delicious but it took forever and the location is a curling club lounge. Best to pick up and take out.
First time here and was not disappointed! Staff were great and the food was awesome! The chicken Tikka Masala with rice and Aalo Gobi with fresh Naan bread -perfect ! I think we have found our new favourite restaurant. Cant wait to come back to sample more dishes
Second time here, really great food. The location is temporary....
Amazing food! It s a hidden gem. We got a variety of meat dishes and vegetarian and vegan dishes. All exceeded our expectations and we were served quickly. Amazing experience
Amazing Food
They have great workers. Very welcoming atmosphere. Very tasty food on very reasonable prices.
Really good
Good food and good service.
They make food real tasty and spicy, loved it
excellent food
To enjoy amazing Indian food at a curling rink is a unique experience. The setting does not have much of a vibe but is only temporary, while the owners look for a new location and recover from the fire that took the original home of the restaurant.
My wife and I dined in at Namaste kitchen last night after taking out from the same location a number of times. Making the most of a difficult situation (their previous location was damaged by fire) theyre currently located on the top floor of the Capital Winter Club with an unexpected but enjoyable view of the curling rink below through large windows. The food, as ever, was incredible. Freshly prepared, full of flavour and very generously portioned. We had our usual (Korma with Chicken, Rice and Naan breads) and received our meal within 15 minutes of ordering. The staff here were also wonderful - quick and friendly service throughout. My wife let slip to one of the team members here that we were celebrating a special occasion and the guys went out of their way to treat us to a desert on the house as an unexpected but lovely surprise. Really couldnt have asked for more from this visit and very happy to see this restaurant offering a dine in option again. Well be back - many, many times! Dietary restrictions: Most curry options are Gluten Free when ordered with Rice, and the menu calls out lactose free options
Namaste will never disappoint you with its delicious food and timely service. Its my first choice to satisfy my Indian food cravings. I truly appreciate the effort they put into serving the best Indian food in Fredericton. All the breads and curry are a must-try. Looking forward for winter menu
The food here is delicious but everytime I ve had it I ve noticed some really hard spice in the butter sauce that whenever I ve bit down on it it feels like I bit into a rock. Today my partner was having the butter sauce and his tooth cracked in half from whatever the hard stuff is in it. It would probably be a good idea to grind the spice smaller or not have it in there at all
Excellent take out, butter. Chicken and Korma are excellent, a little pricey but still good value
This was by far the best Indian I have ever had.The flavours were just mind blowing,we ordered The lamb Rogan Josh ,Cheese naan,Chana masala ..ect.The curry was the perfect thickness and spice. The menu items are priced well.our server Josie is very Friendly and super super lovely. Can t wait to come back.kids friendly too..Thank you so much for such a wonderful dinner..
Pathetic customer service. Never go there after 9 pm because if you are eating food and the time exceeds 10 pm, they will never serve you even the water. This happened with me. We were eating there and it was 10:01 pm. We were almost done and we asked for water, the girl working there said sorry we are closing now. Like seriously? Why do you take dine-ins, if you are not ready to serve the customers. REALLY RIDICULOUS SERVICE BY THEM
Vegetarian options: Lots of Vegetarian options. Food
We got in the restraunt and they told us to wait for 10 mins, and after that that he didnt come. They kept us waiting outside like animals.
