536 Queen St, Fredericton, NB E3B 1B7, Canada
A menu featuring an array of classic & specialty rolls in an easygoing space with homey decor.
Food was delicious. Definitely will go back here. Thanks ☺️
After spending ~$300 and leaving a $60 tip , they complemented us with a rude attitude.. watch out for the girl with glasses. Definitely my last time there. Too bad as some of the food is quite good. They must learn to treat customers with respect. Such a S.H.A.M.E.
I'm not from here at all, I come from Washington State, USA, and this is by far the best sushi I've had both here and there. Specifically the Salmon Lover Roll was absolutely delicious and worth the 22CAD. I come from a place where salmon runs in my backyard and this feels right at home. Plenty of options if you don't like raw fish though, the Korean chicken was bomb.
Tried this Sushi place which was in walking distance from my hotel. You can’t go wrong with sushi anywhere! The food was good, staff is nice!
My dad, brother and I came to Fredericton to see his university on our way to Newfoundland thought we would have some sushi for lunch and that was a great idea. The food was great the service was really fast and the waiter was really kind to us. I definitely recommend going there.
We walked in and immediately felt a warm welcome, greeted with a smile and seated right away. I loved the pink walls, the lighting and the art was so cool. My sumo lunch special was probably the best lunch I’ve had out in a long time and our server was so genuine. We left very happy and joking we will be back to Fredericton just for the sushi! Lol. Highly recommend!
Somewhat dissapointed in the sushi today. Visually the sushi looked great but the flavor was lacking. Also, the location was not in good shape. It was clear that they didn't really care too much about decor.
Tons of options to pick from and their Sushi tastes really good. Was a bit confused which one to order but everything I tried turned out to be good. The service was also good, the girl was friendly and prompt. I think this is the best place in Fredericton to try some Japanese cuisine. Would definitely repeat.
The food doesn t taste good and is way too over priced for both quantity and quality.
Some of the best sushi Ive had, lots of selection, which sometimes can be a bad thing, but a lot of the things on the menu were interesting and inventive which you rarely see, most sushi places sell the same things, but Naru was different and I appreciated that
Rude staff
I will be going back
Delicious food, nice staff
The food here is soooo good the service is fast and good and especially the price bout 30 rolls 2 cokes with a water and 49.50$!! 5 stars
Always wonderful service and food. 5 stars! If you are downtown Fredericton, drop by and enjoy the delicious food and friendly team at Naru!
The food was plain, but the service was very inconvenient. The other server was very friendly, but the server that seemed to speak Korean to the chef was very rude! She just threw the food in front of us and walked away. I will never go here again!
The worst experienced that I have ever received in any restaurant in Fredericton. The server who spoke Korean with the chef, really rude with me. I ordered take out, and when it finished she just threw it into the table and say nothing with me. I felt insulted by that action. Moreover, the price is not reasonable with the amount of food they served me.
Weird date but food was great. Crazy boy rolls were insane. Date was super weird this girl would not stop talking about this how its made episode she watched earlier. The food was delicious though. Absolutely incredible.
Amazing food
had lunch. good size and variety of food
The service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Some of the best sushi Ive ever tasted; Fresh, colorful, and flavorful.
Good food and great atmosphere, Ong
I asked if I could get an order for takeout. The owner looked at me like I asked him to spend a night with his wife or something. Then abruptly said No!. Well, screw you too buddy. Avoid this place
Needs some work in the washrooms. Food is pretty good and staff are great.
Authentic Japanese cuisine, delicious and fresh sushi. We enjoyed spending our lunch time there. A little disappointed was the ikura (raw) roll, I expected to get more caviar on it. But over all ,We will come back for sure. :)
Very tasty sushi! I will definitely be coming back very soon :)
Too much attitude, rudeness shushi restaurant I ever been. Watch out for the lady with glasses. She got mad, slam her hand on the table and left in the middle of taking my 9 years old s order just because he asked for ramen. Disrespectful, would not be accepted. She should find something else to do, not service in front line as she holding that position in the restaurant. Of cause we left right after that and went somewhere els. As Bussiness owner I feel bad for the owner but this feedback will help you improve.
Weve tried all the sushi restaurants around Freddy and Oromocto, and this is our favourite. Weve lived in multiple cities in Ontario, and Naru Sushi is right up there with our favourite place in Ontario. They have all the menu items we love, food is excellent, and the service has been great. When we ask our 7 year old where he wants to eat, he always says Naru. Kid-friendliness: Will make menu adjustments for picky eaters.
One of my favorite places to eat downtown! Theyve got good prices and the portions are decent. Tasty selection of rolls.
One of the most unique experiences I ve ever had eating in Fredericton .and NOT in a good way. We had heard good things about this place, that it was a fancier option for sushi in Fredericton, and the price did reflect that, but what we received was not up to par and frankly odd and in some cases down right gross. I would steer clear of this spot, try Jay s or Tamatachi .no one try to feed you whipped cream sushi.
I recently dined at Naru restaurant and was blown away by the delicious food and excellent service. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff and immediately impressed by the clean and modern decor. The menu had a wide variety of options, and I ended up trying the sushi and it was some of the best Ive ever had. The portion sizes were good and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend Naru to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. I cant wait to go back and try more dishes on the menu.
Loved the food and the atmosphere in this restaurant. It is a great place to visit and the prices are decent as well. However, they are appear to be slightly understaffed at the moment so be prepared to wait for service, whether they are taking your order or bringing the food over to your table. If you dont mind the wait, I would recommend giving it a try. Missing home or looking for something that tastes similar to home, then go here. I came for a visit after living in Korea for six years and it tasted similar to me at least.
Amazing sushis and service. Kid-friendliness: I asked them on the phone if we could keep the sauce mild as it was for my kids, and she went out of her way to draw them a little tiger and some little shrimps on their order. The kids just loved it!
I ve been here almost 10 times, every thing is great each time.
I have only eaten a bento box but it was good. Ill have to come back and check out what else they have.
Where can I start from. First : service not really good. They ask me how was our food but I didnt even get food yet. It was Very slow serving. Second over price food I order sashimi and sushi dinner cost $30 decorations way bigger than actual food Seaweed salad cost $9 I could just buy it from Costco because it teast same and low price. I been so many Japanese restaurants. This restaurant was most worst restaurant I ever been my life. Never go again and never recommend to anyone. Even one star is too much to give to them.
Very good cuisine but I was surprised by the very/too sophisticated side even though I am used to Japanese cuisine which for me is rather pure and simple. Friendly staff otherwise, I recommend. Prices $$
Wonderful place with an incredible staff, the server named Vy was most accommodating
Came for a quick bite and thats what we got. Great food
Love good sushi and that is what you will find from this restaurant. There are far too many places that claim to serve sushi and are totally inadequate. This place has the proper décor, food choices and great service. After having spent time in Japan and being a fan of sushi, I highly recommend it.
Food was tasteless Not good
Very delicious food
best shrimp tempura ever! Excellent food and service!!! Love it
This restaurant has service and food one step over the best one I previously had. Now it os the best. Vegetarian options: Assortiment of vegetables Wheelchair accessibility: Base floor
Go for the food not the service or the ambience and eat on the terrace if you can. Hope our waitress was just having a bad day
Delicious
Have been going here for years with my partner, for both dine in and take out! Food is impeccably delicious and fresh. Best place in my opinion to get sushi, definitely recommend trying the blue mountain roll atleast once! It can get pricy but it is absolutely worth it. Workers are always friendly and the atmosphere inside is professional. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get inside or out.
Always fresh, always amazing.
Best Sushi in town and in NB. Kind and courteous staff. The Sushi master knows our kids names and greets us every time. Just the best place to come in and have authentic great sushi. Keep up the amazing work. We will keep coming from Miramichi to Fredericton for Naru Sushi !!! Jordan and Liam.
Very tasty sushi
I have celiac disease and this place always takes great care with what Ive ordered to make sure its not only gluten free, but is also free from cross contact with gluten. They have a gluten free section on the menu which means I dont have to scour it for what might be okay. The seafood is always fresh and their sushi is delicious. The wait staff is friendly and conscientious. Thanks Naru! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, celiac disease
Naru is always amazing. Love it!
We ordered 10-12 assorted rolls. Everything tasted great and was very well presented. Great sushi. Quick and attentive service.
The quality of the food was very good and I was satisfied.
The sushi was very overpriced, and the food wasnt very good . I was disappointed as it came highly recommended.
I always bring my friends from out of town to Naru, it is the best sushi in town - particularly if you like sashimi. Very generous portions, really good selection of rolls.
Good was tasty and fast.
Was my first time here, love their sushi and atmosphere! I got the sushi and sashimi combo, my bf got the spicy combo. Prob for him was too spicy tho! I love their sashimi, it was so fresh and tasty! Just felt like a little bit too pricy... otherwise it would be a good Japanese restaurant in Fredericton for sure! Good location and friendly staffs!
The best sushi place in town , the prices are great !!!!
Good sushi. Service was good. The miso soup was very good, as was the tempura.
Amazing sushi, always perfect. I no longer need to travel far to get amazing sushi, I can get my fix here locally. They offer an impressive variety, always perfectly fresh and tasty!
Quick attentive service, really cute and super fresh ingredients!
Perfect little spot stop in for lunch during the week. Great food, excellent service, and all at a great price. Ill be back
Really good sushi. The waitress was extremely friendly and we didnt have to wait long for our food. Would go back all the time if I lived close!
Delicious as always. The food was just the stuff to hit the spot and the service was fantastic.
Great customer service and best sushis ove ever had!
Really good sushi. Never disappointed with the quality of the food. My favorite rolls are the C4, Sumo, Avo/salmon. Also really like their agedashi tofu and gyoza. In restaurant dining provides a better customer experience then take-away. Take-away usually has very long wait times and for some reason we almost never have chopsticks in our bag. Make sure you give yourself enough time if doing take out and specify how many chopsticks you need.
Miso soup was tasty, but was only warm, not hot. I ordered the sashimi set, and one of the rolls (the blue mountain roll) is just a California roll covered with mayonnaise, melted cheese, and fresh blueberries. I m aware it s my fault for not cross checking the menu items, but I couldn t believe that such a strange and niche roll would come with a pre-set combo. And at $50 (including 15% tip) for the roll set and a single Diet Coke, I unfortunately can t recommend this restaurant.
I feel like I just got pranked. Do they serve everyone this food? A baby-sized spicy salmon roll with hot sauce on top? A tuna avocado roll with ground up, possibly canned, tuna? Pre-drenched gyoza fried in filthy oil that s never been changed? Don t appetizers usually come before the rolls, not after? I thought the fancy downtown sushi place would be as good or better than the uptown strip mall one.. but boy was I wrong.
Excellent! Fresh, fast, tasty! :)
Good sushi, price can be high on some items.
Delicious food, wonderful presentation and kind staff!
Still as delicious as ever!
Always nice to stop into this sushi spot for some unique creations. Fish is fresh and the chunky avocado is always appreciated. The Salmon Lovers roll pictured here is a must order.
Ordered a vegetarian dish, that also doubled as vegan. BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! The staff is very friendly and considerate. Stop buying sushi from Sobeys, get it from NARU!!!!
Wonderfully fresh sushi, delicious tempura, fantastic appetizers! This was one of the best sushi experiences Ive had! The service was fantastic, and we could not have asked for better. Dietary restrictions: There are vegetarian and ketogenic options on the menu.
This was the most awful experience I ve ever had in any restaurant. To start - we were sat at a table underneath the open lights, there we SO MANY bugs, dead and alive. Once we ordered the food, I kid you not, this was the worst sushi I ve ever had. The sushi they sell at sobey s will seem fine dining in comparison to this one. One of my rolls was 80% cucumber, the tiniest piece of tempura shrimp. My other roll? Had literal sweet whip cream on it. Nothing like the picture, or description. Sweet cream mayo . The chef came out to ask what was wrong with it, when I told him his answer was this isn t McDonald s, you won t get what s in the picture . He was so disrespectful and unprofessional. His food is disappointing and his manners are non existent. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs.
The service there was down: 1) After the waitress served our first dish, we found out the table was not clean - previous customers greasy stains and debris were just in front of us on the table. Then we had to use water and napkin to clean them off. 2) After we asked for the bill, the waitress threw us the bill and POS machine on the table then flew away. We used the POS machine for payment, and tore the receipt by ourselves. The waitress didn t show up at all, even after we left. The food was acceptable: - It is the first Japanese style restaurant that has salmon roe. - The squid sushi was good. - The shrimp of the tempura was NOT very fresh. I believe I wouldn t eat there for the 2nd time.
Great sushi! Staff was very friendly, we ate outside. Parking: Street parking Kid-friendliness: A pretty good kids menu
Sushi was not good, rice was hardening and fish did not taste fresh. I did not finish my meal. Table on patio - chairs were dirty and drinks were served in a red solo plastic cup. Would never return.
Good food, lots of different choices. Very nice and welcoming staff. We always go there when we visit Fredericton. Will be back!
Great traditional Japanese plus some more modern sushi creations. The Chirashi is my go-to meal.
I liked the varieties on the menu.
Favorite sushi place in NB! LOTS of selection, always something new to try and always delicious. Very friendly staff, great service. I only wish they were open later :)
Awesome food and ambiance. My favorite place in Fredericton
Great place. Very good service. We ate outside on the terrace. Japanese cook and waitresses. Very good service. Food was delicious: I appreciated more the Naru special (see pic), then the chicken Terriyaki. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options on the menus and well explained by the waitress. Parking: Paid parking on the street.
In terms of sushi, Naru is the best bang for your buck out of all the Japanese restaurants in Fredericton. Good portions and fresh sashimi, great for dates or dinners with friends and family. Owners are very kind and service has always been polite and timely.
Good service Sashimi always frozen and tasteless impact the overall experience. The toilets are very dirty. To improve
Not worth ordering for delivery or pick up. So expensive for tiny pieces of sushi rolls. Nothing special about the special rolls. Wasnt a good experience after all.
Large selection of sushi with something for everyone
A really good Japanese spot for lunch a d dinner. One of the earlier Asian in the city and still consistently good.
Come here every now and again, but had the best sushi (and best miso soup) ive had in a while tonight. We got the ma-yo sake roll and a sushi pizza - it was so good!! Some of the most reasonably priced sushi in the city; I know the place gets some reviews pricey, but I think everything made sense. Also, please keep the beef teriyaki on the menu, its perfect for the people who dont like seafood/ not used to eating sushi.
Literally goated
The sushi is EXCELLENT! impeccable service!
This might be the best restaurant in Freddy! We made a reservation for 5 pm on a Thursday evening and arrived to a cute table set up for us. We ordered 2 of the set meals and were amazed at how delicious everything was. The vegetarian sushi set was absolutely wonderful. The tempura veggies were just crunchy enough and with everything else, it was more than enough food for me to feel full. The spicy delight sushi set was perfect. It wasn t too spicy and the flavors were really great. I loved the miso and salad as well. We both left completely satisfied and planing to return again soon. It was a lovely date night and our server was very kind and attentive. Vegetarian options: Awesome variety of sushi and other dishes marked as vegetarian.
Food was delicious! Excellent presentation! Staff were very helpful making a selection cause everything looked good!
Amazing food. Great service. Surprisingly large selection for Fredericton.
Some of the best sushi Ive ever had in Eastern Canada
the best japanese food i ve had anywhere in any city ever in my life. if i had to have a last meal i would go here
Always great food
The most amazing sushi in town! Event the vegetarian/vegan sushi/meals are superb. I highly recommend Naru, they are the best restaurant in the city in my opinion.
Excellent ramen and sushi!
the food was delicious! i got the tempura lunch special and it was the perfect amount of food.
Very much enjoyed my anniversary dinner at Naru Restaurant. Where we had the sushi sashimi dinner with a special Maki roll capped off with green tea ice cream.
Great food, not too expensive and the best green tea I ve ever had. Friendly staff as well. Good show lads, good show!
We began our experience at the Naru restaurant by placing our feet on a sticky floor that was dirtier than ever before. Enough to wonder if we maintained our choice of restaurant. The visit to the spiders weaving their webs in the bathroom only added to the hesitation. This restaurant being very well rated on Google, we decided to eat there anyway. The service was very slow. When ordering nigiris of the chefs choice, no explanation as to these choices was given. The beef teriaki sushi pizza did not match the description at all, was dry and tasteless. The beef was difficult to swallow due to its dry texture. The chicken teraki was more like cubes of chicken that had been previously frozen and reheated in the microwave. The beef teraki, with its uneven temperature and mostly lukewarm, corresponded well to what you would expect when reheating leftovers in the microwave. The sushi rice served as an extra for these two dishes was simply poor (non-sticky and vinegary). As a restaurant regular, I think this experience is one of my worst ever. I regret not having just left after the first few bites which ultimately cost us $100.
Restaurant to avoid. Messy. The teriyaki chicken ordered was literally bad. Dry, seemingly frozen chicken cubes cooked and thawed. Even the rice and vegetables on the side were poor. All the meals ordered this evening were messed up and cold. I dont understand how you can be in business and survive as a restaurant offering this. We got screwed. I dont know about New Brunswick standards, but reading the reviews, there are several bullets that escaped me here...
The wait was really long but the sushi was great!
Great vegetarian options and hospitable staff.
An experience unlike any other. After waiting 15 minutes for a server, we were asked what can I get you? Before even a hello. We ate 4-5 rolls and before we could order more the kitchen was closed because they were out of rice. They did accept the reservation that walked in after this, however. We were made to pay the bill in full well before we had finished ordering dinner. I approached the chef who then told me that the rice cooker was now broken. Miserable server and asked to leave mid-dinner for various reasons... I will never step foot in here again.
Poor service, miso soup is super small, tge seaweed in the sushi was very chewy. I love sushi but I wont go back.
First experience eating this type of food. Will be back
Honestly was disappointed in the quality of the sushi here. Especially considering how expensive it is. I hate leaving negative reviews. But the yam tempura roll was unedible
Love Naru. My favorite sushi place.
Amazing food and amazing customer service. All in all an amazing place to eat. I was very satisfied.
Loved it,
Really great sushi here. Try the Sumo Roll, one of the best creations Ive tried. Tempurad banana and ice cream for dessert!
Hands down best sushi in Fredericton
What an amazing restaurant!! Great food, great people and great prices! Youll definitely see me there again!
Best calamari in town.
Excellent
Very tasty sushi
Positives: 1) A wide variety of food (sushi, rice, noodles, etc). 2) Sushi is made on the spot (aka, fresh!) Negatives: 1) A bit pricey 2) Location - downtown is pretty hard to get to during busy hours unfortunately.
Great experience! Sashimi were fresh and tasty, service was friendly and kind! Highly recommend.
Good service, very lovely place, delicious food!
Delicious! Takeout only, during the pandemic, but the sushi is delicious!
Had some foodie friends over and decided to order from this place. One of them use to make sushis for a living and is not easilly impressed. Well he had to work really hard to criticize the sushis from this place. Everyone really enjoyed the sushis and said it was amongs the best they had. The only small inconvenience I find is that I would like it to be easier to order quickly. I called wanting 60 pieces, not caring to choose which one. I still had to pick existing combos from the menu. It would be good if you could order a bit easier (without a menu) when you just want a mix of what the chef recommends. Will definitely reorder...
I love this place. The lunch specials, particularly the tempura lunch special, are one of the best lunch deals in town. The staff are friendly and the owner, Jason, is a master of hospitality. The sushi is fresh and of excellent quality - try the Negi Toro Maki!
Very tasty with fantastic service
Excellent quality and flavour. Beautiful presentation. If not ordering off the lunch specials menu be prepared to drop a few bucks. My lunch with 4 nigiris and 1 unagi roll with 1 Asahi beer (and 20% tip) was $48 CAD.
Great as always, excellent selection and some unique options.
It was okay. Not as good as I remembered it.
Fantastic lunch options with very reasonable prices.
Good experience. Good food, always updating the menu with new things as well. The quality of the sushi and sashimi in particular were high
My favourite sushi spot in Fredericton. There are other sushi spots around with good product but Naru stands out. Its the little details, the tea is always just right, the miso is consistent and delicious, the Wasabi I dont know how they make it or what theyre using for ingredients but it just turns out perfect. The rolls are tight and well proportioned. I dont know where they get their pickled ginger but its the best Ive had. Lastly, it can be expensive, but I usually stick to the lunch menu and with that selection it is very affordable.
Everytime we visit Fredericton, we have to stop here. Out of all the sushi places we have tried, this place is our favourite. Their lunch boxes have something for everyone. Classic stuff to sumo rolls to tempora veg.
Been going here steady. Traveling alot lets me know good sushi. This is a great spot. Taco sunomono and spicy miso chicken with extra sauce and a side of sushi rice. Yummy
Amazing, nothing tastes bad
Great service, excellent quality of food. Staff is super helpful and attentive. We love Naru!
Fantastic yet again!
Delicious food and really friendly service. Ill be back!
The food was great but we waited about 30 minutes for two plates of sushi. Other than that, everything was good.
Very creative rolls and a HUGE selection.
Rich and healthy food, kind and friendly
Good food, nice service, not expensive. Outdoor tables are metal mesh. If you spill anything expect it to be on your pants.
Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Lunch is quite good value. Friendly service, very quick.
Amazing Sushi! I got the spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll and it was simply amazing. You can tell the ingredients are of good quality. Service was fast and friendly.
They forgot to put our order in, ended up not being able to eat
We have been very pleased to order our favourite dishes here. Top quality products and culinary services!
First Class Sushi!!! Amazing Service!!!
Amazing experience. Fair price, good service, delicious food, cozy environment. To be fair, it was the first time I ever went to a Japanese restaurant or ate Japanese food. My wife and I were going to a different restaurant but it was full, so we decided to adventure at Narus. Didnt regret! The staff was kindly and patient. The waitress even helped me practice a little of Japanese, she was so kind and amicable. I wish I could remember her name to give proper credits, but we were really impressed with her politeness. Staff in general looked happy and not rushed, that makes a huge difference in the environment. Food was delicious. We were impressed by the freshness and quality of the sushi and tempura. Its indescribable. It was an explosion of flavors. The environment was welcoming. There is a espavious coat hanger, and the tables have a decent size, theyre not too small, not too big. There was soft piano music in the background and the place was quiet enough so you can easily have a conversation with your peers. Maybe my only wish to complete this amazing experience was to have traditional Japanese music playing in the background. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and I certainly recommend this restaurant.
