Modern Mexican cuisine. Margaritas, cocktails, beer, wine, and a large selection of tequila. Relaxed bar atmosphere.
I so look forward to great food on Friday date nights with my husband! But we ordered, Drinks came, appetizers was cold! Sliced garlic shrimp rather than whole, no hint of garlic. We ordered appetizer first to enjoy our time… Then meal came, minute later. No room for all! My steak fajita was cold, seemed rather boiled and heated than grilled. My onions and peppers were burnt and I was charged 6$ for hot sauce to try and make this all taste better. I have been here before and the food has been better. Would prob not order this dish again! A fajita is grilled and hot! Disappointed! Also I had to ask for water.😩
Emily was great and made a solid spicy Peach margarita. The food is decent and the service was amazing. My favorite Mexican place when I visit. Update! I've also now had the Paloma, and it's equally delicious.
I had the two toco with rice lunch special and it was outstanding. I loved the two different tacos I got and can't wait to go back and try other types. Try the El Paso and Royale tacos, you won't be disappointed.
Come here with my wife for some tacos, cocktails and tequila. Tacos were excellent but could have had more filling, a little small. Cocktails were great. Service and atmosphere amazing. Overall, a little pricey for what you get but definitely worth a try, we'll be back, and Emily, our server, was a sweetheart and on point!!
I want to preface this by saying I hate complaining, I hate being that person to complain at a restaurant, but I was so taken back by my experience at Dos Toro. I’ll start with the positives, the food is delicious. My partner and I both got the burrito bowl (pulled pork and chicken) and they were delicious. The churros are also lovely. The manager is also very kind, understanding and accommodating. Now for the not so great stuff. The portions are INCREDIBLY small. What you’re paying does not align with what you’re getting. When the burrito bowls were brought out I was shocked, it was appetizers size. And what really bothered me was it didn’t even come with a whole piece of chicken breast, it came with 5 tiny pieces, that really bothered me and that’s why I complained. We had 2 drinks, appetizers and 2 burritos bowls for $85 and we received only a few pieces of meat. There are so many other places where your money will match the quality and quantity, this is not that place. I did talk to the manager who did her best to rectify the situation and was pleasant to deal with.
For our appetizer, we had their con queso - the nacho chips were nice and crunchy - the queso on the other hand was a bit runny, but it tasted pretty good! Tried both of their veg taco options for the mains - the vegan taco with the ‘chorizo’ smoked tofu was really good; the tofu was so yum! The bean one tasted nice but was pretty basic. For dessert, we tried the churros - was a bit of a letdown, texture of the churros wasn’t really the best and was more on the savoury side. The caramel sauce and cream on the side, however, complemented the churros! Overall, it was a fun night with excellent service and ambience! Definitely recommend!!!! 💯
This place is a vibe! We enjoyed the atmosphere, music, food & my God, THE COCKTAILS! The tequila cocktail list is large & delicous, would return just to try more tasty beverages. We tried 5 different tacos which were all great, but the brisket was especially delicious! The playlist was spot on 👌👌👌 Would like to know what they're listening to so I can tune in at home! The server was friendly, attentive & helpful. Food & drinks were quick. Restaurant & bathroom were nice and clean. Overall, very pleased with our restaurant choice for date night & will definitely return in the future.
My husband and I were in town visiting as part of our belayed honeymoon road trip. We walked in on a rainy Friday night, the hostess was more than happy to show us to our table. The menu was very diverse yet pleasantly authentic. The variety of tequila was astonishing! Our server Kevin , despite him admitting he was a new hire, was absolutely delightful and made our experience special. Every staff member that passed our table made sure to touch base with us and make our experience memorable. The street corn and taco flights options are enough to bring us back from Ontario on a weekly basis . 10/10 would recommend! We will now always make a point to come back to dine when in Fredericton just to revisit this gem ! Thank you to the kitchen and front of house staff ; a round of applause for all is deserved!
Shared a late lunch with my son and everything was awesome. Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all top notch. FYI, get the Pato Plato, its new and its sooo delish.
Before I came to this taco temple, I was certain I was the definition of human scum. After devouring 4 of the most flavourful tacos known to human kind, I now feel akin to a demi god. If you have read this far, purge yourself of your sins, stop wasting valuable living time, run, dont walk, and rejuvenate yourself in Gods flavour country. Mykayla, quite possibly the best server known to this generation, was the epitome of professionalism. Her charming smile, her bubly personality, and her divine wisdom of the menu helped shepherd me through the gates of The Flavour Kingdom.
Beware, the tacos served here will make you question anything youve ever eaten before. I dont see any other option but to eat here for breakfast, lunch & dinner for the rest of my life. Our server - Mykayla - delivered a platter of divine intervention that has brought me to the holy gates of flavour heaven.
Amazing selection of tequilas. Best guacamole Ive ever had. And the tacos were to die for. 12/10 would recommend. Ill definitely be back.
Dietary restrictions: Intolérance au gluten. Très fiable Food
Lots of GF options! The nachos are amazing and they have a dedicated fryer . Dietary restrictions: Gf options and vegan options! Food : 5/5 |
Weve been to Dos Toros many times, typically with other families or larger groups (6+). The spicy margarita is great! Food is pretty tasty. Menu isnt overwhelming. Lots of different taco varieties to mix and match. Parking: Metres city street parking only, but free after 5pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Excellent food and service
Really enjoy what Ive tried with apps, tacos, desserts with fresh tasting meats, veggies and ingredients. Good cocktail and mocktail selection. Love the chorizo taquitos! Always happy to come back to sample some different tacos Vegetarian options: Solid vegetarian tacos and substitutions Dietary restrictions: Great mocktail and non-alcoholic options!
it was our first time coming to this restaurant just this past weekend. we love going out to eat and going to local places here in freddy. This place has a lot of potential with its location and environment but the food is horrendous. The portions are tiny for what you get and are flavorless. if you want real tacos save your money and go to el miricachi as they have the best in town. I honestly had a hard time eating these tacos and the carnitas were dry and over cooked and lacked flavor. The queso also did not taste fresh and i was very disspointed with the food. I really wanted this to work out as its such a cute spot with a great drink menu but the food is not it.
Good food, very nice atmosphere very good staff, Emily was great, (chef/manager) Tas great person very knowledgeable. We will return. Just a suggestion (because Im a older crowd)would like modern Mexican music. But still going to return.
Really nice place. The tacos are awesome. The baja & P.I.G were awesome, as well as the fries. Waitress was nice!
Food was very good. Could have a little more filling. Bathroom very clean. Server Emily B. Was excellent. Food : 4/5
This place is great if youre craving tacos! Loved the mix and match options. Between my partner and I we got 7 and all 7 were great! Dont think I could pick a favorite . Parking: Street parking. Free during certain times.
Portions are minuscules, if you are hungry don t go this place because you will not get full, the tacos were salty and quesabirria was tasteless food is way too expensive for what you get , in the other hand , margarita was good and service was good as well BUT I don t think I would ever go back.
Food and service was good, price wasnt bad for portion 17.00 for tacos and side
The food was filling but pretty dry, our server, who apparently was also the bartender, was great
DISAPPOINTING to say the least for anyone having experienced real Mexican food. Summary: bad service, tasteless food, overpriced. As folks who LOVE Mexican, we came excited and hungry, and even made a reservation for 7 people. Sat inside and the table arrangement was terrible which was my first clue. Ordered chips and sauce, barely any chips and basket was not full. Waitress with red hair ran away not taking our dinner order and was too busy drinking her Mojito behind the bar. After 20+mins of her not returning .had to wave her down to come and take our dinner order. She demanded we order in a specific way so she could get the food correct with so much attitude we were all surprised (not in a good way). With 2 little kids we waited for 40 MINUTES for food to come and the restaurant was nearly empty. She of course couldn t remember who ordered what despite her making us order in a certain way. Portions for kids were a joke almost no chicken in the tacos or fries. Our dinners were equally ridiculous NO MEAT in any burrito and tasteless tacos, fajitas and burger. My husband asked where the pork was in the burrito and chef stated you only get 2oz of meat per order so burrito was rice with a smear of meat. Same for the beef burrito. Worst of all was the waitress with dyed red/pink hair. So rude, attitude to the max and just miserable to deal with. She should have brought the manger over but instead continued with her behavior. AVOID this place if you want good Mexican food that tastes the part plus good service to go with it.
I was so happy to see that they are now open for lunch! Food was ok. I was a little disappointed at the small lunch menu, but I understand that they just started serving lunch. Service was slow because there was only one person working. Probably again because they just started serving lunch. The place is super cute and its at a great location. Would go back for dinner on a Friday or weekend just for the vibe and to grab some drinks.
Worst tacso Ive ever had. On top of that they were super late to serve food. We were in town from Ontario and was looking for tacos. I could have made better tacos than that. Would never visit again. Please save your money and go elsewhere if youre from out of town.
Came for drinks after the night market. Saw one table open, empty glasses on it, on the patio. Server was heading inside so I asked if I could take it, she said sure & that they d be out to clean it off. 20 minutes go by and nobody came to clear the table or serve us. When somebody did come out, a different server, asked if we sat ourselves and then accused us of stealing $15 from the table. She left without clearing the table or taking orders. I flagged another server to clear the table, she did, told us about the specials, took the empty glasses away but never came back. Spent an hour on the patio and got no service.
The margaritas were not great, which was unfortunate for the only Mexican restaurant downtown. They tasted a bit like chemicals. The salsa portions were rather measly, and service was ok. I think the food is probably tasty, but I would go elsewhere for a marg
I wish the patio was open more often, it always seems to always be indoor dining only. Food is excellent but I do wish the portions were a smidge larger for the price. We spent just over $100 for two people. Two drinks, two mains, two apps.
Great tequila menu...top shelf. Food awesome and new ownership
The food is very good, nice atmosphere, good drinks, very nice servers.
Food was delicious. Not a thing we didnt like on the menu and we ordered quite a bit. Toasted coconut margarita and the jalapeño popper taco were the highlights. Best Mexican food we have had outside the states. Its not authentic but is it damn good. Service was also quick, server was knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a must try. Vegetarian options: Guacamole, frijoles tacos etc. Decent veg options.
The food was extremely small. My boyfriend and I both got the taco deals and the size of the tortilla was small, the smallest amount of meat, and the flavour was only mid. Very disappointing and expensive for such little food
The food and service are great, however the chairs and very uncomfortable. So much thats its a factor in our decision on whether to eat in or not.
I sat at the bar and my server was Evangeline. I have been in the service industry, and specifically Hospitality, a long time. She was approachful, very articulate and relatable, as well as wonderfully adept at carrying on a conversation with someone far outside her age group, while still managing to be present and watchful of her other responsibilities. Very talented at her position. The food is really, really good. I m not exaggerating. I ve travelled here twice from London, Ontario, in the past few months for work, and made a point of visiting this restaurant this time, because the food is amazing. I m not sure if it passes muster in Mexico, but for a restaurant here in Canada, the food is ridiculously good.
$6 tacos? With nothing in them... Will not be back.
The staff was extremely kind and brought out extra chips when the food was taking long. Unfortunately the food was not very good. Fritters were dry and not a lot of flavor. Tacos needed more toppings and sauce. Wasnt presented as described on the menu. We had a chocolate pie for dessert. There was no crust to the pie, the chocolate filling was runny, the marshmallow top was really hard :( was super disappointed for the price.
Excellent all around.
Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible but no push button door Food
We really enjoyed our meal! They have Good Robot beer- which was delicious! I loved being able to choose different tacos. The fish taco was my favorite. We hope to go back. The atmosphere was fine- the music was not the best dining music. Service was great.
The place looked nice and we had great service but the food was meh at very best. My one hard shell taco was the best but the others were soft shell and got so soggy and gross I couldnt eat them. Food didnt look fresh and colorful and appetizing as tacos/Mexican food in general normally does. Food was all lukewarm too. Everyone else with me werent raving about their meals either. SOOOOO expensive too. No desire to ever return.
Cold food
Loved the ambiance and the food! Summer was awesome to us
Food is good. Fun atmosphere. I have yet to find a drink I like here. They are fun and colorful but I find all taste the same. This being said I will go back to try other menu items
Really good food ! Both kind of tacos we got were amazing and the sides, service was fast and attentive , will be back again
Great food and great customer service! Thanks Mykayla!
The staff is excellent, top class food, we went in there just before closing, they took our order quickly and served. Loved their service, they took our nice picture as well upon request even though they were late and past closing time. Vegetarian options: My friends are vegetarian they tried available veg dishes (i dont remember the name :)). They loved it.
The facility is good. We went around 8 and the restaurant hours are till 10. The server was in a rush. Asked us for drinks 3 times within 5 min. As soon as the drinks and appetizers were ordered, she started asking for order for mains. Mind you, nothing was even served yet. Food was tasty. We asked them to make the burritos hot and we were charged 3 dollars each just to add a dash of tobasco probably. On the positive side, they have good selection of cocktails.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, my favorite restaurant in fredericton. Been here 3 times now and have not been disappointed yet. Would recommend.
The food was over salty and seemed to be priced too high for a burrito that was mostly lettuce with a little bit of overcooked chicken. Disappointed.
I would give the service 100 stars if I could! The food was great as well. Our server was Andrea (I believe) and she was fantastic!
Food was great. Service was great as well. I feel there was a lack of alcohol in the margarita. But thats me. I wish you could order single tacos. But other then that it was good.
I ordered some biria but they said they are out of biria after a couple of minutes and then I changed my order to Americano tacos with mexi fries as side, I also ordered a salad. The salad was tasty. The tacos and sides were fine but not awesome and they were hardly enough for one average person as no one at the table was happy with their portions. 19 to 24 bucks (plus 3 for fries) for three very small tacos can easily be tagged as overpriced.
We had a really lovely early dinner here this evening. We opted for 2 appetizers and the 6 taco fiesta that comes with churros for dessert. This was plenty of food for 2 people. The food was delicious. The courses came well spaced out to give us enough time to enjoy each one without feeling super rushed. The lady behind the bar kindly made us virgin versions of the menu cocktails. Our server Mykayla was happy and cheerful, she was the perfect level of attentive without interruption. Plates were clearly quickly and drinks kept topped up. All in all a great experience.
We absolutely loved our first time here. Only sad that we havent been here sooner. The Buba Gump taco was my favourite, but all we tried were great. The classic margaritas do not disappoint. We will come back.
Parking: Street parking available, mindful of Thursdays when theres a busy market across the street Wheelchair accessibility: Walk with a cane, no steps to get in, tables and chairs are movable for easy dining access
Food is always tasty.. Service was prompt and friendly. The drink menu for tequila is extensive. Wednesday night is Margarita night..CHEERS!!
The staff is a delight and Chef Ness is a Gem !!! Food is delicious. Everything is great but my favorite is definitely the Fish Tacos !!!! Not sure why the drinks are so steep But the food is spot on !!!
Food was fantastic, but we had to wait around 15 minutes for our server to bring us the bill as well as music that didnt fit the atmosphere as well as the language used in the music
One of our favourite places to go in the city for Mexican food. They let you mix and match the tacos which is a really great way to try out lots of options without committing. Service is great, and the server we had was super knowledgeable. She also made a great effort to engage with my friends daughter and it was above and beyond. Please try the margaritas!
Very good service, excellent food and clean and pleasant atmosphere. Parking: Not far from there there is a very large parking lot that is free between 5 in the afternoon and 8 in the morning Kid-friendliness: The children didnt have any problems, they even gave them some lollipops at the end of dinner
Dietary restrictions: Good selection for Gluten-free Food
Very good tacos, especially the fish tacos
Food was amazing. Spicy margarita will kick your a**. Birria is best i have had in North America. Hands down. Taco Tuesday has different flavours every single week. Can t wait to keep coming back for more
Amazing quesso, tacos, and service! We Love our waitress Summer and have somehow gotten her every time we have come.
Lovely decoration and great service but up charged a dollar for two tiny pieces of lettuce... Tiny tacos and overpriced. Left hungry.
Bartender is the best
Excelent service, Andrea is the best ask for her está verguisima el lugar ( si algún latino lo lee) Parking: The best place
Great service, great food, love the drinks. My daughter came to visit from Alberta and we got supper here. Recommended dishes
A fun place to eat!
My wife took me out for my birthday. It was my first time there. I had the chimichanga which was fantastic with the 7 layer dip to start. Our waitress Andrea was fantastic. The music was great, and not too loud that you couldnt speak to the person in front of you. I highly recommend.
Great food and wonderful staff. Catherine provided some quality service. Biggest Tequila menu I have ever seen. Design is nice but the music doesn t match the theme.
Portion sizes are small this time around.
We had a great meal on New Years Eve! Delicious drinks, enchiladas and tacos. Its exciting to have a great new Mexican restaurant in town= we will be back for sure!
We dined in a few days ago. The staff are friendly and the place is nice. We ordered the Taquitos as an appetizer, then the pulled pork tacos as our main. Both menu items were great. A nice addition to Fredericton.
The reviews were mostly negative that I read before coming but I wanted to try it out for myself. In addition, a few friends I went with had been before and didn t like it but wanted to give it another try. When you are a restaurant specializing in a certain kind of food I expect the food to be good, otherwise why bother lol. I tried the carnitas and barria tacos and both had absolutely no flavour and the corn tortilla on one was not cooked properly so it was just soggy and gross. The corn chips and salsa they give to the table also had no flavour. I also tried my friends dish, the dip, also no flavour. Mexis served better food which isn t saying much. The service was good, my classic margarita was really good, the atmosphere was nice but felt a little young (our table of 30 somethings were easily the oldest table there), the decor was nice. I thought the prices were fair. Unfortunately the food just is not good at all, so I won t be back. If you re a Mexican restaurant that can t even serve tasty corn chips you have no business being a restaurant.
Had tacos and nachos for takeout. Delicious. We loved it and ate every morsel.
We ordered for the first time tonight. Customer service is beyond excellent! They easily accommodated my dietary restrictions - vegetarian and celiac disease. Don t hesitate to order here! It s delicious and they re fantastic!
While I couldnt dine in due to the lockdown, I was able to take a few minutes and look around and all the really cool art at Dos Toros. This being my first time, I kind of went all out. I ordered several tacos and a burrito and mexican style poutine (Mexi Fries). Heres what I thought of it all: Carne Asada: Juicy meat and the flavour of the tortilla really comes out. Nice big chunks of pepper. Could have used maybe some more spices or marinade and queso to pack a bigger flavour punch Baja Fish: As soon as you bite down on the chunk of fresh white fish, you hear that ultra satisfying crunch of the panko crust. The batter also had a nice acidic aftertaste to it as you could see there was more than just your standard panko in it, while the cabbage and mexican tartar sauce kept it fresh. Duck Duck Mousse: while the duck itself was a bit more cooked than I usually like, the sweetness of the mango habanero sauce combined with the spice made this quite the flavourful taco. Carnitas: Not bad. Id say it holds its own at the middle of the pack. It definitely could have used a bigger punch in the flavour department though. The meat was tasty and the salsa verde went well together, it just could have used more oomph. Burnt End Brisket: By far the sausiest of the bunch. The sweet tequila BBQ sauce and the sweet red onions make this taco more on the sweet side of things, but the meat and the bitterness of the burnt ends adds a nice counterpoint to the two sides of this taco. Bubba Gump: The shrimp, so plump, so juicy, so fresh and with a hint of spice. Their flavour underpinned all the others of this taco. Chicken Burrito (Fajita-Rito) : Mm, mmm, MMMM. Tasty. It kind of reminds me of the burritos I used to get at St. Johns, NL. Good for a nice sit down meal, but also a fantastic pack it and go meal for those late nights. From the first bit, you can taste all the different flavours wrapped up in your standard tortilla. Mexi Fries: While the flavour was ok with these, it was my least favourite dish. I would have liked the fries and some of the cheese to be cooked longer. As there is no dine in right now, I ended up putting the whole lot in my air fryer for a few minutes and it turned out crispy like I prefer. The pickled jalapenos and the bacon were on point. Overall, I know that traditionally, North American havent preferred the most flavourful of foods, no matter which of the 5 basic tastes were talking about. However, one of the best parts of eating many different international cuisines is that they are extremely flavourful. Whether its spicy, sweet, sour, savory or umami. The meats are marinated for hours, if not days. The veggies are fresh. The spices are plentiful. I have never been to Mexico, but I can assume from all the food documentaries Ive watched over the years, that they hold true to this flavourful stereotype. If I were talking to the owners, Id say dont be afraid to go big with the flavours. While the rating says 4, Id probably put it between 3.5-3.8, but thats not possible on Maps. Maybe have tiered levels of flavours like se Indian restaurants or Caribbean Falavas does so that those of us who have travelled extensively and those who just like extra flavour can also be fully satisfied. While I could have used more, each item was packed almost as much as it could be which I found nice because I was hesitant about the price at first. Thanks for the local meal and adding to the vibrant and diverse food culture that has been a wonderful surprise since coming back to Fredericton after living abroad.
We had mexi fries, and four different tacos. The Mexican fries were amazing, and would be my new go-to for drunk food :) all the tacos had a great flavor and tasted like very fresh ingredients. The customer service was perfect. We will definitely be back.
I really enjoy the food but I liked the first version of the menu better so you were ordering individual tacos so you could have a few different kinds easily. The 7 layer dip is the best Ive ever had. Im not remotely a fan of not having actual mint leaves in a mojito, the presentation of the drink falls flat without them. Update - Mexican street corn soup is wildly delicious
Best Mexican in Fredericton hands down
Great service . Amazing food. Definitely going back
Great margs, but the angsty 2000s music makes this place awesome. Great vegetarian options. Will visit again when were back in Freddy!
Very good meal, nice location and the staff was great.
WOW! Talk about good food and excellent service. Really warm and welcoming atmosphere, too. Cant wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Great food and fun atmosphere!
Over priced. Super small portions. Small drinks. Food was dry and unflavourful.
The food was excellent and so fresh. Im vegan and went with a non vegan friend.. both of us loved our meals!
Food was delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and the service and staff excellent.
Great food, better atmosphere
Prices high, portions super small, flavor just ok, too expensive Service is good
One of my fave spots in Freddy! Super friendly staff and everything I ve tried on the menu has been great, especially the nachos. They have a great selection of cocktails and their bartenders are so talented. Will definitely keep going back, their playlist is one of the best in the city, love the pop-punk vibes.
They just absolutely nail it every time here. It is so great to see such enthusiastic staff!
The food in Fredericton is dog-water bad the majority of the time, this is an exception. Prices are a bit high but worth it.
Service was really good the waitress was awesome, food is ok but not great not worth the money imo spent 90$ felt like it should of been 50$
Great food, slightly more expensive than your traditional Mexican restaurant, but the diverse menu makes up for it.
I was so excited to try this place as I love Mexican food but unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered a $14 frozen margarita that was melted by the time it got to be and it was extremely small (came in a small beer mug). The appetizers were fairly good but I tried 3 different tacos and the refried beans and didn t like any of them. They lacked flavour and were over priced.
The food is fantastic! Has a large menu of both drinks and food, not to expensive. Highly recommend!!
Food was cold, very expensive, tiny portions, and the street corn tasted straight up vile... The one upside was the 2000s pop-punk playlist.
Good tacos, great bucket of beer
I dont understand how anybody who has eaten Mexican food before could find this place decent. I guess theyre enamored by the good vibe and decor so they dont notice how awful the food is. Its incredibly overpriced. Were talking 9$ for 1 tiny underfilled taco. Thats unheard of. Steer clear of this place.
At first the chorizo taco seemed too salty, but then I remembered to squeeze on some lime juice and it was perfect.
The food was pretty good. However, the server behavior was unsatisfying and I felt she wants me to leave there.
As a Mexican I m always looking for good tacos everywhere I go. This carnitas tacos are the real deal, just like a taqueria in Mexico. And the Bubba Gump taco was also delicious .
Booked a table for 6 for their Friday margarita special and supper. Had a great time, drinks were good, food was fantastic and our server Kaitlyn was awesome, attentive and efficient, very pleasant!
The service was perfect, waitress really smiley and the tacos were perfect too. So, everything was perfect and I would come back again soon if i can.
My favorite weekly spot. Can t beat a bucket of Sol and staff who treat you like family!
This was a fun restaurant to go to - the service was great and the atmosphere was neat. But the food was only so-so. We got the Taco Fiesta for Two so we could try a few different ones and none of them were great. I really wanted to love their food but it just didnt quite hit the mark for me.
The food was delicious and service was excellent. Im afraid my wife may leave me and run off with these nachos. We will be back.
It was really great Mexican food. I had the enchiladas and it was delicious, I could not finish and took it home!
Nice spot DT Fredricton, stopped in for some tacos and beer. I d prefer the buckets of Sol a little colder. The tacos were ok, I tried the shrimp and steak. I ll come back to try the others, quite a variety.
Very happy and friendly servers. The calamari was excellent (has a different lime infused spice on it). And the brisket taco was perfectly tender!
very good food and atmosphere, 1 star removed because the metal chairs are uncomfortable
We just prdered from this restaurant, and it is VERY overpriced. Mind you, the 4 tacos we got for $16 per 2 tacos were decent, but cold upon arrival amongs all of the other food that was cold. The rice we ordered was horrendous, but the fries we got were fine but cold. Have never been inside the restaurant so i can t give an opinion of the restaurant, but the food is gross overall. Beware when ordering food. I understand this is a tequila bar, but if you re serving food, at least make it edible.
Everything about our experience at Dos Toros was excellent. The food and service were amazing. I m still thinking about their churros, can t wait to go back next time we re in Fredricton
Went for some food and drinks after a long day, and we were seated & served quickly. The pricing was reasonable for everything we looked at, and the food was really great. Lots of flavor, and plenty to choose from. The service was great! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. For me, the highlight was their house-made hot sauce. Dont pass it up if they offer it. It was unreal. This is the new date spot for my wife and I for sure!!
Love the food here! The cerviche is delicious! We really enjoyed the fish tacos and the masher. The margaritas are also delicious. Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of vegetarian options. I particularly enjoyed the masher tacos.
Service was good and vibe is really nice, especially on the patio on a summer day. However, the tacos were quiet average. The shrimp taco was really not good; the shrimp was cold and they just put hot sauce and coleslaw with it. However, the beef taco was really good! The drinks were not bad. Overall, not bad.
Very disappointing food and drinks. And very expensive for the poor quality.
The food was great, the service was outstanding and it was a perfect spot to listen to music on the street! Go for the spicy Margy cocktail.
Great food and service. Maybe a bit pricey.
Food was average, sold out of many beers
really impressed with the vegetarian offerings here! they actually season their tofu, and beautifully at that. our server was so kind. ill edit this review to include her name if i can find it on our bill. she handled our entire experience so thoughtfully. definitely recommend this place. edit: it was Robyn! She was great, I hope she gets a raise soon!
Absolutely love this place. Tacos are top notch. Theres a great assortment of hot sauce. Extensive tequila selection, and some truly inspired mixed drinks. (Cactus juice is soooo yum!) Theres also a large assortment of gluten free options for the celiacs out there. Super friendly service, too.
Super lively colourful and artsy decor. Amazing service by friendly staff. I had an app strawberry margarita and 3 tacos that were really tasty. The birria was my favorite and the consume was very authentic and delicious. The sides not so much. The rice was bland and the street corn was awful. It tasted old hard and dry. Like it was made last week and still being served this week. Too bad. But everything else was fantastic. I d go back for the tacos for sure for a treat since my meal was over $80. A little expensive for tacos.
It says here on Google that its open til 10pm on Saturdays. We showed up at 9pm for sinner only to find it was closing. I mentioned how Google said 10pm and he said Oh we just havent updated it. Thats very poor, and shows poor management. No wonder they only have 4.0 out of 5.
Ive eaten there a few times since it opened, and I cant say enough good things about it. Customer service is top notch, food is excellent, and the drinks are 10/10 (and they sure dont skimp on the alcohol LOL). Plus, if youre gluten sensitive, theyve got plenty of great options to enjoy - including corn tortillas and tacos.
We enjoyed some tasty margaritas and tacos. Everything was very good and the service was great!
It is tex Mex not Mexican food. Tried for the 2nd time and it was insulting, tacos had 1/3 of the filling it is supposed to have. Burritos had no rice or bean and it was very small. Chicarrones were fake chips that you buy at gas station.
It wasn t busy when we arrived Friday night at 5. The vibe, drinks, and server were nice. However the tacos were so very bad. Please do not order the carne asada tacos. All but one bite of the steak was nothing but fat and couldn t be chewed. It was SO embarrassing to have to spit out each bite I took! The filling was just a few slices of jalapeño, sauce, and fat. All of the tacos came out colder than room temperature. The masher tacos had absolutely no flavor. Cholula to the rescue! At least the sides were hot and edible. It was quite expensive for such low quality food. Vegetarian options: Flavorless vegetarian tacos are available
Food was delicious but portions were small. I would go back to try some different tacos. Severs were great!
Tacos tasted decent but cold. Overpriced food. Wine served in random glasses meant for water. Maybe worth a try i but would definitely wait for them to get their service rythem and pricing right.
My three tacos were great. The masher taco could be a tiny bit more balanced in favor of the toppings other than the beans though as it was just a touch too bean forward. The carnitas however were delicious in my opinion and perfectly balanced and the pork tasted great. My girlfriend got the nachos were got soggy just a bit too quick but I still really liked them, could use more salsa on the side though as it went quick.
For what the drinks lack in complexity of flavours they make up for in strength of alcohol. The food was alright, very conservative with the toppings on the nachos but nice to see the use of queso sauce. I recognize its their opening weekend, so I will try it again in 6-12mo once they find their footing.
Great decoration and atmosphere. They have real Margaritas and Micheladas Love this place!
The bar tender was superb and was able to find many options as a vegetarian! Music and atmosphere were pleasant and enjoyable! Will certainly return!
Overpriced food.
Fantastic atmosphere, friendly service and the food is amazing! The seven layered dip is super light and fresh and the carnitas were delicious - and definitely get the spicy margarita
Do you want authentic Mexican food with good sized drinks? Well this isnt the place. The fajitas are mediocre and arent even spicy. Boourns
Cocktails are epic.
Table could barely have 2 plates (very small tables) could barely fit 2 glasses of water and glass of wine. Good thing we didnt order anything else.
Good food, small tables and you sit WAY to close to the next table.
Love the ambiance and hope it sticks around. Will be going again soon.
I love Mexican food so I was very excited to eat at this place. Since I moved to Fredericton I was hoping that we can get a good Mexican restaurant in town. Unfortunately, this is not the one. The appetizers were great, we had fried calamari and taquitos. I ordered Brisket Tacos which were horrible. The meat was very fatty and tough. The flavor was good though. The fries were tough (maybe undercooked?!). I asked for frozen margaritas and they didn t have that, only margaritas on the rocks. And yes it is a bit overpriced. The customer service was great, lovely interior decor. I very wished I could give this place 5 stars but unfortunately I can t. Though, I am willing to give it another try at some point and maybe that will change my rating, but for now this is it!
At 5:30, on a Friday night the only available seats were at the bar. Even if you dine early, making a reservation pays off! Excellent cocktails, and apps. Friendly service.
Dos Toros is a great addition to the Fredericton food scene. The cocktails were carefully considered and tasty. The service was the most thoughtful Ive encountered in Fredericton. The staff were hospitable and warm, organized and patient. We didnt feel rushed and felt like welcome guests. The staff knew the menu well as we had several questions and they made good recommendations. The duck confit taquitos were a treat. Delicious! The Ole Mole taco was a hit as well. Well done Dos Toros! Looking forward to trying more. (Props to the clean and brightly decorated washroom as well)
I really wanted to like this place but my first experience there was bad. Staff was friendly and service was alright. I received an incorrect drink on my first order but the waitress later noticed and removed it from the bill. Both drinks I had were very light on alcohol. I actually asked if they accidentally mixed non-alcoholic versions. The food was mediocre. I dont mind paying premium prices for quality food but this wasnt it. Cold and allegedly spicy tacos that were not. They had been open for a month when I visited which should be enough time to sort out the growing pains.
The drinks where amazing however the food wasnt worth the price.
Great carnitas, but dont make me buy two at a time. Four is too many, two is not enough. So I walk out not full and you lose the sale of a taco
