Arts Centre, 732 Charlotte St, Fredericton, NB E3B 1M5, Canada
It’s my first time here in Fredericton and I tried many places but this place has the best pizza in town ! I didn’t like the cookies I recommend you you to try margarita pizza, Pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad I will miss this taste 🥹
What a hidden gem. They have done a wonderful job of making this space in the basement of the Arts Centre so cute! And the baked goods although we did not have any looked fresh and scrumptious. We had pizza and salad for dinner before a show. Both our pizzas were awesome. My vegan caesar salad was so tasty but had a bit too much tempeh for my taste but so good and fresh.
Not only is the pizza amazing, the ingredients are always fresh and if possible local. The last time I was there, the tables were decorated with seasonal flowers and there was a chanterelle pizza - what a classic New Brunswick experience! Even after years of eating at the restaurant, I never get tired of the pizza. They keep switching up their specials to reflect seasonal, local produce. Also, how on earth can the Caesar salad be vegan and taste so perfect? I also like picking up their warm croissants at the farmers market for a treat on Saturday morning.
Best pizza I’ve ever had. That I unfortunately can no longer buy on work trips because they stopped taking credit cards. Would gladly pay the extra 2% that Visa charges them, but oh well. Definitely eat here if you planned to pay cash or debit anyway.
Excellent pizza. Got the 10 inch feta pesto, very tasty and filling. 20$ + tax for the 10 inch. It is worth the price.

First of all: BEST PIZZA IN F'TON. Period. Ok, now for the more detailed review: the place is warm and cozy, perfect for those who like to feel at home. The beer and drinks are adequate to go with the pizzas (remember that it's a pizza place, not a bar/pub). And, finally, the pizzas are made there, in front of you, from scratch and they're delicious. Perfect timed in the stove, the dough was everything we were looking for. Congratulations again to the cook and the whole staff. The place is all run by women and maybe that's why it's SO GOOD! It's become our favorite pizza in town.
Nov 2023 Update: It's only gotten better. While it is very out of the way, that's part of their café location's charm. The fire of the oven radiates next to the fresh baked sourdough with the buzz of staff baking away and serving customers. It's quaint and cool and charming. The food has stayed incredible. I can't believe there's a place in Fredericton to get proper honey cake! It's been since my time in Russia and China since I've seen any. Also, their apple tart gave me Ratatouille movie vibes. In biting into the cinnamon filled apple mixed on top of gingerbread crust, it instantly transported me back to childhood Christmas times stoking the fire and watching movie such as Muppet Family Christmas. One of the best overall spots in town. It's been since before the pandemic that I last ate here. I had their pizza at the Farmer's Market. I must admit that it was today's special pizza cookie that got me to order. Shortbread cookie covered in icing. I couldn't ask for a better desert for lunch. As for the pizza, equally delicious. I had the all meat. The slight sweetness of the sauce, combined with the salt of the meats paired very well. It's a thing and doughy bottom crust with a fluffier and slightly crispier end crust. Just as good as the first time I tried it at the market.
My family and I went out for for lunch, and ordered the pepperoni pizza (mild). It was delicious and my partner also said shed love to go out for a date night here again.
One of the best pizzas I ve ever had!
Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible as there is no wheelchair ramp and 2 flights of stairs. Food
Delicious yummy pizza & nice baked goods too:) Thank you !!! Food : 5/5
Amazing pizza.
Best pizza place in town, the cook is so kind and also quite handsome.
The pizza dough was rolled out poorly, and it was not evenly cooked. The croissant tasted very bad too
Did not like the pizza dough !
By far the best pizza in town Very friendly staff!
Pizza was hand made freshly, server was kind and attentive! Would eat here again for sure
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Very helpful staff and very convenient location! Parking: Mostly parking on the side of the road is the most consistent way. in front of the beaverbrook art gallery. If you plan on walking downtown, the parking behind city hall works too
Lets talk about the vegan caesar... the most addictive and delicious salad a person could ask for. Pizzas are perfect. Cookies are enormous. Coffee is hot! Lets GO!
The best pizza in Fredericton. No contest.
Great pizza!
What a great spot. Was so excited when I found it. The people there are wonderful and the pizza is delicious. Please try it at least once you will not regret it
My absolute favourite pizza spot in the city! Delicious oven-baked pizzas and croissants. A cozy dine-in option with enough seating. Friendly staff.
Great local eats. The hand crafted pizza is top-notch. Im very happy with the food and overall experience.
Fantastic pizza
Great pizza and salad with friedly service.
Always good pizza. I tend to swap out tomatoes for sundried tomatoes as they turn out delicious in the wood fire oven.
Best vegan pizza and ceasar salad Ive ever had!
Visited the restaurant for first time last night. Enjoyed the pizza. It was delicious and will definitely go back.
Really a cozy place for a awasome pizza.
The pizzas are very good, the atmosphere is warm and there is plenty of room to eat on site. Vegetarian options: There are dishes without meat
My husband and son enjoyed the meal but having a low immune system I couldn t bare to eat pizza when I realized that the worker doesn t wear gloves as she was digging through the toppings with fingernails exposed - it s just not worth the risk. Although hand washing does happen the risk is just too high-I m sorry I was thoroughly looking forward to this little spot and for the price it s too bad - it does look and smell good. Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free options! :)
Got takeout for my partners birthday. Delicious wood fire pizza and amazing salad of the day (Caesar with tempeh which was to die for)
Legitimately one of the best pizzas I had in my life, best in Fredericton!!
Best pizza place I have ever seen. Crow is the best
Great wood oven pizza made with ingredients of exceptional quality.
Delish food made with fresh ingredients!
Really really good experience. The atmosphere and staff was super lovely and the food was perfect!!
Delicious pizza. My favourite pizza place in town hands down. The sauce is light in texture and tasty. The dough is cooked to perfection and super tasty. The toppings used in pizzas also go great together . We had pepperoni pizza and meat pizza
I HAVE WITNESSED THESE PIZZAS
Update: Still going to Mildas years later and the food has been consistently great. Its made from scratch using local ingredients and cooked in a wood fire oven. Its my favourite pizza in Fredericton. The dine-in area is really cute too. The customer service has also been good since my last update. I would def. recommend checking out Mildas :) Update: I have gone to Mildas several times, food has been great, vegan and GF options, service has been polite and excellent but I had an awful customer service experience this last time. This is the first time Ive had this experience, I normally have really polite staff members so Ill still go back but it was disappointing.
Reposting an edited review with more context following an uncouth reply from the owner or media manager (A growing trend it seems? Theyve gone as far as to post libelous remarks about another reviewers visits to bars. NPD perhaps?) Food is good. Not the best pizza Ive ever had, but certainly some top 10 in the Maritimes. (Expect delays if youre ordering for more than a handful of people; theres clearly limits to what can be created using a single oven. This is the issue which set the owner off previously.) Environment is warm and cozy (Unless you catch them at the market, then its crowded and bustling) - Formerly the home of Sweet Belgian Desire (another local gem) I believe. All in all, feels very reminiscent of the Seinfeld no soup for you! skit; good grub with a fanatic at the helm. Personally wont recommend them to friends anymore after having a nasty reply which led me to look at the other insane replies theyve issued to many other reviews under a 5. Wheelchair accessibility: Located in a historic basement, no accessible lift to my knowledge.
Delicious woodfired pizza!! Our kids loved the meatball pizza! The Smokey joe was great! The crust was awesome. A Pleasant surprise finding this sweet little spot! Definitely highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: Relaxed atmosphere kids loved the pizza also enjoyable for parents.
This stretch show was so impressive. I will never forget it! It was done so well. I was surprised there were so many children in the audience!
Hard to find place! Go in the side door, then down the elevator, and through a corridor but it s worth the effort. I had the spicy pepperoni and it was delicious - unique toppings with the thin cut onion and peppers. Would eat again!
The soup for lunch was more and much better than I expected. I was amazed to get such good homemade bread with the soup. I will gladly come again
Excellent pizza and service!
Mildas is amazing; from the pizza to the croissants and the cakes. Everything should be tried at LEAST thrice.
Was a bit sad on pizza flavour but it was cooked very well. Very hard to find if you have never been. Its hidden in the bottom of a large building with only one sign in off the road to identify it is there. Cute spot once you find the right area and the staff is very friendly. Love that they have vegan options. Enjoyed their salad the most.
Just moved from a province with loads of vegan options and did not have high expectations for vegan option in fredericton but Mildas blew my mind! Best pizza I have had in over a decade vegan or non!
Best pizza I ate hands down, very hard to find though I am from out of town, I had to ask somebody walking where it was. they need a sign outside by the street. Must try pizza in Fredericton.
What a peaceful gem located in the middle of a neighbourhood. I have not eaten at Milda s since she opened this Charlotte Street location, previously had only visited her at the market. I have always enjoyed her margarita pizza. This restaurant uses in-season ingredients so it is not always an option to order it. I saw it was available tonight and rushed over for supper! The mozzarella to tomato ratio is absolutely perfect! The cafe is licensed and sells beer and wine, in addition to some sparkling water and juice options. Treated myself to a piece of chocolate cake, which I enjoyed while I waited for my pizza to bake . Once I parked, I wasn t quite sure where I was going but followed the signs which start outside to the left of the building. As the restaurant is located in the basement of an older facility, I am unsure whether it is fully accessible from the side entrance - I went up about 7 stairs and descended about 10, and some spots are narrow. Milda s at CSAC is an absolutely lovely spot with vegan and vegetarian options along with some GF-sensitive! Staff were verrrry friendly and respectful. This is a cafe style setup, and you put your own used dishes on a tray on your way out. Accepts cash or debit only. Would definitely return! As I was driving out, I saw there are picnic tables in the back garden.
Picked up a Breakfast pizza from Mildas at the garrison night market and OMG. You have to try it.
Ate here tonight on the recommendation of the hotel staff where we are staying. They were right .. great wood fired pizza and great service. Nothing fancy here, and the pizza was delicious. I highly recommend Mildas if you are in Fredericton.
Great Pizza!
Made to order wood fired pizza! Amazing baked goods, and great atmosphere Parking: Located in Charlotte Street Arts Centre, there is plenty of free parking Food : 5/5 |
Best pizza in Fredericton
Tried their margarita and feta+pesto pizzas - Taste was definitely better than the fast food outlet ones but we ve had better wood fired pizzas. However, if you re looking for some really good pizzas in Freddy, I definitely recommend this place!
Best pizza in Fredericton, hands down.
Fantastic pizza!! Love the cookies. Highly recommend trying all the special pizzas they offer. The flavour combinations are amazing.
Hands down my favorite pizza in town.
Two words....breakfast pizza. You have to add the egg (or Two!!!)
Mildas is consistently tasty. Love their crust and flavour combinations. Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan options Parking: Always available parking even though its a busy spot. Kid-friendliness: Easy come, easy go. casual dining tables.
#1 pizza in Fredericton
Home feel favorite reastaurant in Canada Parking: Enough spots that you don t have to look hard Food : 5/5 |
Wheelchair accessibility: The elevator makes extremely accessible Food
Delicious pizza and croissants. Probably the best in the city. The crust is so tasty, its almost the best part of the pizza. They also always have good fresh ingredients, and seasonal options that change regularly. Definitely worth the try. I love the decor, with art from the gallery on the walls, and beautiful wooden furnishings. Its a lovely place to sit with a tea and a pizza. The only thing is it can get quite loud when its busy. Wheelchair accessibility: I dont think its wheelchair accessible. Its stairs to get into the building and then more stairs down to the restaurant. Unless theres another entrance on the other side and I just havent noticed.
The people here are Wack. The chef is trying to tell me what I can and cannot put on a pizza. I m vegan so I wanted as much protein I can which is 2 vegan protein toppings. They tried telling me what I can and can not have and I find that annoying like they re consuming the pizza for me. They lady on the phone was confused but nice, the chefs on the other hand have to recognize the customers are always right.
Quaint, small and homely. Pizzas, delicious in one word
Best pizza in Freddy and no one comes close.
We eat a lot of pizza and this is our favorite. The dough and toppings are fantastic. We normally get the all meats and veggie pizzas but have also tried their specials which were also great.
Just had their spinach, goat cheese, and caramelized pecan salad, along with a beer from Grimross and a croissant. Wonderful tastes & friendly service. Their cafe is now reopened, go check it out!
Best pìzza in NB!!
Nice pizzeria, located in the basement of an older building. Seating is limited but they do get a lot of takeout customers. The pizzas were great. My son and I both ordered a 10 inch pizza, his the all meat and mine the pepperoni. The pizzas are baked in a brick oven after being prepared after you order it, so baked fresh! We both thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas, which looked bigger than 10 inches. You can order them spicy or mild. We both had the mild one, which was spiced to perfection for our taste. Definitely highly recommended if you have a pizza craving.
My only problem with this restaurant is that everything is so yummy that its always difficult to choose what to order - such a great problem to have! :) Friendly service too!!
Great food and customer service...love the croissants, soup and salads, a fantastic place to eat or take out!
This is Caroline posting on behalf of both if us. Milda s has excellent FRESH salads, pizzas and baked goods (including very good spurdough bread when it is on the menu). Consistent quality, prompt delivery service by the resto itself. We love Milda s vegan caesar salad; We get the large salad which is 4 large portions, so it takes care of two days. The pizzas are all very tasty, and their baked goods including deserts are . Always some nice berries to go with their deserts, which is such a nice touch. Milda s is a regular treat for my husband and I. And we really appreciate the great delivery service as well!
Nothing else like it in town. The best!
Milda s pizzas are incredibly fresh and delicious. Love that this is a family business and they pour their heart and soul into everything they sell. love this place. Highly recommend
Milda s has the best Pizza in Fredericton! Great people using real ingredients, you really can t find a better product!
BEST. PIZZA. EVER. I used to eat in at the restaurant before COVID where staff were always friendly, even when busy - which they always are because the food is amazing! I have ordered takeout throughout the pandemic, followed their food truck around to various patios on weekends, and treated myself to their croissants at the market. Worth the wait every time, no matter what you re ordering. They re busy because it s delicious!
My little family of 3 has been enjoying Milda s Pizza for years! Their fresh ingredients & unique flavours fired through the pizza oven truly can t be beat. Personal favorites are the 3 Little Pig s Pizza, Caesar Made Milda s Way, and the carrot cake!!!
The pizza here is hands down the best! With the most fresh ingrediants, cooked to perfection and served with a cozy, like family vibe. Their sweet treats and always an incredible follow up and they offer something for EVERYONE!!! Run to grab yours!
Absolutely delightful every time I eat here. I have dreams about their 3 little pigs pizza and the croissants they do up are so damn satisfying. I love the experience of getting the food cooked right in front of me at their restaurant and at their farmers market location.
The best pizza in Fredericton, hands down. Wood-fired oven! Some great and odd specialty combos. We love the pear and blue cheese pizza and the one called something like 3 little piggies. They are often on special but not always available. (Their regular combos are good too)
Went to the market because their actual restaurant was closed.. Big mistake unless you want to stand there for 20-30 mins.. they make those croissants in a little oven thats opened 3/4 of the time. Disorganized, slow, not a pleasant experience at all..
This was the gastronomic highlight of our trip to the east coast. Located in the basement of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, this restaurant is literally a hidden gem. We had the pear and blue cheese pizza and the Mediterranean pizza. The crusts were thin, cooked to perfection, and highly digestible. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I can honestly report that these were two of the best pizzas my family and I have consumed outside of Italy.
Awesome atmosphere and awesome pizza. The service was great
Fun toppings! Great desserts :)
We had Mildas at Trailway brewery and loved it, so far the best pizza I have had in Fredericton.
It is really nice place for pizza, I love it
A great place to hangout the food is delicious and perfect to celebrate on any occasion
Wow. Finally found a decent REAL Pizza Joint. And the Vegan Salad is to DIE for. Good job ladies!
Great local wood-fire pizza in Fredericton - recommend the three pigs. Try their restaurant or find them at the weekend farmers market
I visited the market stall yesterday and got a croissant. It was pulled out of a cooler reheated in a toaster oven. The problem is that they only had one toaster which made for a really long wait (~15 minutes). And when I did eventually get my food it was still pretty cold in the middle. I just ate it because I didnt want to wait any longer and was running late for an appointment already. Maybe investing in another toaster oven would be a good idea so that the other two people working the stall could also help during a rush to fill orders faster. The other two were just standing there while one person did all of the heating alone due to the one oven situation. I get that the pizza is made fresh and wood fired, and Im willing to wait for that. But 15 minutes for a reheated croissant thats still cold in the middle of a bit much. Sorry, but I wont be ordering again. Edit: Lowered my score by a star based on the owners response to my initial review. No accountability. No apology for the situation. No acknowledgement that they could do things a bit differently to improve their service or product. Just defensive and basically shamed me for sharing my objectively lackluster experience because they are a small business. As if that absolves them from having to bear any criticism or improve in any way? You only need to look at their responses to the other low-scored reviews to see that this is a trend.
Such great pizza! One of the best places to go when youre craving quality artisan pizza. Choices for the day was Margarita and feta basil and both were delicious.
Pizza was the best one I have had in YEARS. Fabulously original spot in an old building that gives it that much more charm. LOVED it.
Great pizzas, probably one of the best places I have ever tried
Wow!! Its worth the detour !!
Excellent pizza, the crust is perfect!
Came in for a treat, found their vegan (Im not, it was) mango cheesecake -spectacular-, their service welcoming and the atmosphere appealing.
Best pizza in New Brunswick!!!
Prefect spot for a delicious pizza. The staff is super-friendly. Great ambience full of simplicity and warmth.
Their pizza crust is great. Definitely some of the best pizza in fredericton. Its a nice spot to dine-in too.
Last night we ordered the pear and goat cheese pizza as well as the vegetarian pizza along with a vegan Caesar salad and vegan chocolate chip cookies. Sooo freaking delicious.
Best pizza in town. Wood fired. Craft beer. Vegan options. Desserts. What more can I say
Amazing wood fire oven pizzas! Excellent service
Very tasty pizza.
Fabulous pizza!
Delicious pizza. D. E. L. I. C. I. O. U. S.
Great flavor not greasy at all
Reading that some people have never eaten pizza this good is sad: you should try to get out of Fredericton and NB from time to time. So, good pizzas (but far from the best Ive eaten!). High price for the quantity and quite unlikely place to find. Good alternative to chain restaurants but once again, its expensive when you know the cost price of a pizza. We have double the product at Gréco for example, at the same price, even if the taste is undoubtedly a little less. To try to form your own opinion: personally, I will only return if the pricing policy is revised or if the quantities are increased.
Everything I tried from there was so tasty! My favourite restaurant in Fredericton.
Always amazing pizza!
So glad this is in the hood!
Rude member of staff that just ignored basic questions. Left without ordering.
Excellent pizza every time. Highly recommend their homemade cheese even if you are not vegan (Im not and I still specifically get it)
Excellent pizza. Had a full three course vegan meal- Caesar salad, pizza, dessert. Wonderful staff. Recommend it highly!
The best wood fired thin crust around. Great service and a cozy, comfortable room. Everything is good here.
Wow! Cant get a better wood oven style anywhere else in town. Plus the staff is fantastic!
Always friendly and they give you a cute little bowl of pretzels. Pizza is great too!
Best pizza in the city
Pizza was delicious - crust was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Had all meat and the variety of meats made the pizza unique and yummy. Enjoyed ambiance as well.
Smokey Joe is absolutely to die for.
Probably one of the best wood fire pizza in the city !!
My favorite pizza spot in the city
Excellent vegan and omni options!! Lovely service.
Great pizza
Amazing little spot in the basement of an old school. Will be one of the best pizzas you ever taste!!!
Great pizzas, great coffee. Daily specials and daily pizza types. Cant reccomend enough.
Alwaygreat food and wonderful service. Super noisy people beside us today made it hard to talk and enjoy but these things happen.
Awesome food. Great atmosphere
I arrived at Mildas and it was suggested I sit at the table by the beautiful wood fire stove oven . The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were so kind and helpful . The sound of the wood fire crackling was an exierurhcd in itself . The pizza.... unlike any pizza I ve ever experienced. Then name of the pizza ... 3 little pigs ... made me giggle lol. I had never heard of bacon marmalade but it tasted like a slice of heaven . The vegan chocolate cake was so moist , fresh and yummy . I plan to return many times to this place that made me feel like home!!
walking into this place is just like walking into a home, it is so amazing to see such a wonderful vegan place like this in Fredericton. the staff here is so amazing and helpful, they are nothing but kind and just want you to have the best experience possible and they sure achieved this goal. but that s just the beginning, the pizzas here are so amazing and taste like heaven in your mouth, i got the feta and pesto pizza and omg was it ever amazing! but then the dessert is just to die for
What a hidden gem. Fantastic pizza and a great staff. 110% recommended!
I had a horrible experience, rude staff and raw meat
Love love love this pizza!!!!!
Won a gift certificate to here in a contest and ive been coming back again and again. Creative varieties of pizzas and delicious croissants. A gem of the city that shouldnt be overlooked!
A hidden gem in the city of fredericton A must see for all vegan , the cookies are amazingly good and the pizzas are freshly made Plus the family that works there are more than friendly
Food is excellent, source locally where possible and from the market as well.
Best woodfired pizza in town!
Noisy and disorganized during my visit. Ive tried this place on my last three visits to Fredericton. This time the staff were arguing with each other and the vibe was bad. Since there are very few places to eat in Fredericton, definitely give this place a try. They are better than a chain restaurant. Update: to the owner. I waited until my third visit to write this review. I realize there arent many restaurants like yours in Fredericton... so I do encourage readers of this review to try your place out for themselves. Definately give this place a try. But, my experience was not a 3, 4 or 5 star on any of the visits. Perhaps I will be back and will make it a point to introduce myself and see if anything has changed. I am not complaining. Simply sharing my experience. All of my 400+ reviews reflect my experience and are simply my opinion. Thanks for replying to my review.
Delicious!
Anna was incredible! She suggested a pizza that I loved! She was so friendly and happy to see us!
Best artisan pizza in town!
Great Hidden Gem! This wood fired oven pizza restaurant has the best ambiance you can find in Fredericton. We were driving through and looking for a great pizza and found this amazing place. A little tricky to find...we thought we were in the completely wrong place...the location adds to its special atmosphere! And to top it all off, the pizza was delicious! Such a unique place and great experience!
Everyone welcome vibe, kid-friendly, and the absolute best pizzas in town. Add in great coffee, local beers and cider, ever-changing local art on the walls and the feeling of being tucked into the heart of the community and youve got one of our families favourite spots. Great choice any time of day, and day theyre open!
Best pizza in Fredericton
Wonderful, informal restaurant in a community-centre basement. The pizza is competitive with the best youll find in bigger cities like Montreal or Ottawa.
My friend Jill and I our Birthday is the same day we discovered so this year as Birth twin friends we went out to eat this year .I had Mildas spicy peperoni and Jill had the Vegan sooooo delicious..For a treat I would love to go there again...Sorry no pictures...
Excellent food and service, with plenty of selection for those who are vegan or gluten-free.
absolutely amazing vegan pizza and beautiful restaurant!
Amazing pizza and excellent service. Love the multiple vegan options.
Fantastic service & the best pizza in Fredericton !
Mildas has the best pizza in Fredericton. You wouldnt know where it is unless someone told you as is nestled in quaint corner of the basement of the Arts center on Charlotte St. Very cool atmosphere with vegan options. Their deserts are amazing also.
So good
The best stone cooked pizza in town. <3
Vegan pizza, croissants, desserts!
Mildas is my favourite place to eat in Fredericton! The food is delicious and can be made to accommodate a large variety of diets. There are tons of amazing vegan options including the best vegan pizza I have ever eaten and the most incredible ceasar salad I have eaten encountered in my LIFE. My family and partner always make a point of eating here when visiting from Nova Scotia, and make the trip with this restaurant in mind. The staff is super friendly and the space is so cute. I love Mildas!!
Fresh, hearty food. Everything Ive tried tastes great and offers interesting and tasty gluten-free and vegan options. Highly recommended!
Excellent Food!
The food was good but the location was fairly cramped and noisy.
