We were in a booth that is really cramped. Weird space though not sure if you could do much else.

This is basically everything you want a good gastropub to be. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, killer cocktail menu, and local craft beer.

Have been to the Northside a few times. The one on Queen is excellent. Great service. Food was tasty. I had the Korean Bowl and is was fantastic, it is spicy but flavourful. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegi options Parking: Free street parking after 430

We dropped in for pre dinner drinks on the recommendation of a former local (UNB). The servers were friendly and helpful. The place filled quickly for dinner. Staff and guests were all having fun. Patio heaters extend the season. We did not eat here but would on the next visit

Super impressed with this place. Came here previously 5 or 6 years ago and thought it was good but really forgot the whole experience. Tonight was date night and weve been through all the local favorites and I thought wed give this place another go. Going in the energy was way up. It was pretty full so we got seats at the bar. Service was immediate and attentive. I forgot to get his name but the guy working the bar and taking our orders brought his A-game. We worked our way through the cocktail menu and the True Crime was the big hit for both of us. It was a smokey blueberry drink, big fan. We shared appy plates, the sausage, the burrata and the crab cakes. Sausage and Burrata were perfect. Only part of the whole night I didnt love was the crab cakes. For dessert we had the Apple Cake. Unreal. Only note here is it needs more walnuts or chop them up a bit because you want some with every bite. Overall huge glow up since we last came and were gonna throw this into the date night rotation.

A bit pricey but the staff is amazing!

Food was good. We were told they couldnt seat us on a patio because they were full and then set us inside. I then watched other people come in and they were in the same boat as we were with no reservation and they were taken to the back patio. I was there with a teenager who didnt understand what it means when a waitress up sells the meal. She did that with him. I ended up adjusting the tip accordingly. I dont I think it is right that you upsell a teenager when the accompanying adult isnt paying attention.

I had the 540 burger and was very disappointed as the burger was full of fat and Geisel. Not what I have enjoyed in the past :(

Happen to walk in to pub and order food and drinks. Food is realy taste. Saturday night is kind of little crowded will tool little more time for food. But overall it is good food and friendly service.

The portion size were pretty small for the prize (the chicken was only one small drumstick split in half drenched in pretty basic bbq sauce, with a small salade, 1 come split in half and some mac and cheese all for 29$) I had the ulong noodle and had no complaint with the principal dish but I payed for the extra shrimp which was about 6-7 medium shrimp that were over cooked and the extra costed around 7/8$. I regret not taking pictures to had it to my review. The customer service was excellent and the servers were very attentive to us. Final review is for drinks this place is pretty good but if you re going to eat expect not a lot of food for a pretty expensive bill

Food was pretty good but super expensive. I dont think it justified the price, which is why its 4 stars. If the price is irrelevant, go for it, it was good food. The burger I had did not wow me, but it tasted pretty good. Service was great, the bartender was really nice and helpful. The atmosphere was great, it looked like a cool hole in the wall kind of place.

Food and service was great but there was this loud group that were talking about things me and my date were a little appalled by for being at a decent establishment and nothing was said to them. Not everyone in the place needs to hear them and was very annoying.

Delicious, Quick Service, and nice location! We had fish cakes, seared salmon, and seafood linguine. Every dish was delicious and a good portion.

Bacon mac n cheese was great, very favorable.

Overall a 4/5. Recently renovated, and it definitely feels more open. Went on the weekend with a couple of friends, had the burgers (Impossible style), they were yummy. The cesar salad was great, as was the mac and cheese. Mozza sticks were a great app. Prices of cocktails were a little pricey, however that seems to be common amongst most restaurants now! Service was excellent.

540 has amazing food and staff that really bring something to Fredericton. Whether youre from the area or visiting it is definitely worth your time to stop in for a bite to eat and a drink!

Just a little to tight in my opinion, and its loud, could barely hear my tablemates. But to be fair there was some sort of event going on in the city(Frostival?) and there were some tipsy people in there. Great food, like really great!

Cocktails were great, especially the Laphroaig based drink (cant remember the name). Was busy on a Saturday night, and just a few dishes were out. Started with the shrimp & grits, it was outstanding. Slightly sweet in spots, slightly acidic in others, juicy shrimp, crispy bits, it was a well executed dish. The pork belly on the other hand was a bit of a miss. Now while the pork belly was perfectly tender and easy to eat, the skin was basted with what tasted of Cattlemans BBQ sauce and it was accompanied by what can only be described as bottle Caesar dressing. The white sauce needs to go. The little round cakes on the dish were very dry (for all 3 of us who ordered it out of our group of 7). Corn was fine. Crispy puffy skin, no BBQ just flaky salt would have made this dish great....even just a little 5 spice seasoned salt on the meat. Would definitely come back for the cocktail though.

Had the Pork Belly and a local Pale Ale. Great place to spend the evening with good company.

This place has such a cool atmosphere. Its busy and bustling but was private and quiet enough to enjoy your groups conversation. The range of drinks and food was great. I had the wild grain risotto and it was so rich with garlic and herbs. Not a wet risotto but so worth it. Also a great choice of beers and the service was friendly and efficient. Will for sure return.

Mussels is chipotle coconut milk broth was amazing. She had rack of lamb, I had steak with gorgonzola demi glace, both were great. Nice wine selection - well be back !!

The staff was very friendly and very helpful with questions about the menu. I love the cheesecake; a definite must if you eat here.

Very good service, however the food is not worth the price. The risotto was still raw and the rack of lamb was not cleaned, there was more fat on the bone than meat. On the other hand, the coffee crème brûlée was excellent.

Great patio in the back. I had the salmon and my husband had the filet mignon, both were excellent!

Everything tastes great. The food was all fresh and the staff was friendly. The mussels was our favorite from the appetizer menu but we also enjoyed the burger and filet mignon.

It s ok, average at best. Not worth the price .. salmon over cooked, to much salt on gnocchi , salad was basic just lettuce , cucumber tomato , Brocolli and hummus for $15 is insane pricey , cheesecake was basic idk maybe I just got wrong things, server seemed rushed

Enjoyed the Beef Tagliatelle and Coffee Crème Brûlée on the back patio tonight. Both were excellent, but the sauce with the Tagliatelle was drool worthy! Server was pleasant and attendant. Hope to return soon!

Quick service not convinced by their cuisine.

Jordan was our server and she was so nice and friendly. We were from out of town and she educated us on the town of Fredericton. The food was great and the the drinks on point!!! Washrooms were so clean and very nice looking. We will be back.

I had burger with fries and the meat was old and smells really bad, the server was not the best, the space is so tight, loud and unwelcoming. That was my first and my last. Over all the fries and salad was good.

I was there for lunch, nice atmosphere, busy, great service & food! I had the spicy Thai curry, loved it.

Its a nice spot, but I think it suffers from success, so to speak. Its very popular with a rotating seasonal menu, but the quality has noticeably decreased in the last year. The portions are smaller but the prices are not, the meat is less tender, but its still good. Id amend my review if they start making some positive changes, but right now I cant suggest its worth becoming a regular here.

Had creme brûlée, striploin steak. The steak was juicy, cooked as we wanted. Not great side but acceptable, yummy mashed potatoes. Crème brûlée was a bit runny, but really soft and delicious. Great experience

540 trio of restaurants are my new Fredericton faves.

This place used to be quite good, but the last time I was in for dinner was before COVID. Im finally back in NB and was looking forward to another good meal here. I was craving duck breast so I asked the server to make sure it was NOT going to be well done, and she assured me it wasnt. When the duck breast arrived it had almost no fat rendered out of the skin, so the skin was chewy rather than nice and crispy, and the meat was fully well done and dry. The bulgogi pork bun was pretty small and not that exciting also, with a very small square of pork belly on each one (2 small buns for $11). I brought the overdone duck to the attention of the server, and there was no offer of a retry with another duck breast or an option to take it and bring me something else. The server came back and told me she took 25% off the bill due to the overdone duck. That was better than nothing so I just paid the bill and carried on. After paying, I noticed that it wasnt even remotely close to 25% that had been taken off the bill. 25% of the bill would have been $10, and 25% of just the duck would have been $7.25. The discount was $4.35. Not really enough to make up for the meal not being very good overall. The sides were tasty though. My dining partner got the Flatiron steak and asked for it to be rare to medium rare and emphasized that he would rather have it rare than overdone. His steak was at least medium well, if not almost well done. It also lacked seasoning and was bland. I was excited for a return to this place, but left very disappointed.

I loved the atmosphere here! I ordered a spicy Caesar and the duck, which I added pictures of! Everything was plated beautifully and tasted amazing, I highly recommend coming here if you have a few extra dollars youre willing to spend.

This place is seriously good. Wife and I had the fish tacos, with haddock, and shared an order of fries. Superb. We are from downtown Toronto and the prices, including the wine, seemed outrageously low. Back in 2022. Still a good place to go.

Had a delicious meal with my husband. We shared the Salmon cakes and he had the ceviche haddock tacos while I had the mango summer haddock salad. A trip highlight!

One of my favourite restaurants in town, they have the best fries and some amazing burgers. They have a rotating tap of beer and always have a great selection!

The food experience overall was sub par... and over priced... I was looking for Burger while my wife wanted some fish... It took almost 20 minutes to get drunks ordered (maybe 15 people in the place) 45 minutes later we get our drinks and order... I ordered their Signature 540 North burger ... succulent beef and prosciutto... 1 hour and 46minutes later... what I got was a ball of what looked like deep fried... dried mess with stuff hanging everywhere... served on a bun from MrBuns Bakerey from the local gas station... $18 plus tax... oh and a potatoes pushed thought the thin grater of a potatoes slicer and deep fried ... walaaaa... a Dq junior burger with equivalent size fries... with a half slice of prosciutto... AFTER initial visual effects... I decided it could taste better than it looks... (I am at the table with great friends) ... cruch like a over cooked crispy chicken sandwich... and oooooh soooo dry... The experience is hipster if anything... The place is annoyingly loud... and their answer to this... turn up the music... Lets just say this... if this was a tinder date swipe left... If you want to present yourself as high end... work to achieve it... Personally removed from Four peoples experience for future...

Great food and excellent service! A tad pricey though

This is a popular place. Try to make a reservation especially on Mondays, as other places nearby are closed. .just tourists traveling through the maritimes, we sat at the bar and had the salmon and the steak dinners which were nicely prepared. We shared a Caesar salad which was plenty for 2! Fun atmosphere.

With recommendations from the waiter it was the 540 Burger that won my vote. Amazing presentation and over the top flavor. Mayo dipping sauce is house made and I couldnt get enough....

My gf and I ordered the 540 North Burger and she said it was the best burger she has ever had . Definitely give it a try. Amazing service from our server (Heather).

Get the diner burger with candied bacon and the fried egg (medium)! Its impossible to go wrong. They also have a very good craft beer selection that they rotate regularly.

Ive been here a few times now and have loved the food every time. The service is excellent, and it has a great feel to the place. Its also got lots of outdoor seating, which is wonderful in the summer.

Summer 2022: Enjoyed a great steak on the rear patio. Cool tunes, nice atmosphere and a desert to top it off: chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream! yum!

Visiting Fredericton our family decided to visit 540 Kitchen and Bar for lunch. When we entered we were promptly greeted and seated. The menu was limited but that to me is a sign of quality. We got the Mac n cheese, Tuscan wrap, 540 Burger, Seafood Pesto Fettuccine, Summer Haddock salad and Rotational soup. Food was brought out in roughly 20-25 minutes and it was amazing! Personally I had the fettuccine and it was probably some of the best pasta I ve ever had, definitely homemade and had a good balance of flavours. The other dishes were excellent as well, all were cooked as asked and spiced well, presentation was modern. Overall the total for our group of 5 came to $105 and we we re very satisfied

Came here for dinner during a business trip and the place did not disappoint! We had the steak and chicken entrees and some drinks. The place is pretty dark at night but it s a nice vibe.

Wonderful service was had on a Sunday night outing. Love their selection of local NB taps. The salmon cake was great. For mains we had the seared tuna and fired pork belly and were not disappointed. The spouse loved the sticky toffee pudding.

What a great vibe on a Saturday evening. We sat at the bar and had craft beers, which were excellent. Our bar server was great. The food looked great (we didnt eat though, kinda wished we had!)

First time here. Great vibe, but the food was not a match. Frikadeller appetizer was really good, The North Burger was a miss - burger lacked flavour, overdone and the texture was off.

Excellent restaurant which serves cuisine composed by a real chef, with fresh and tasty ingredients. Good choice of beers from local microbreweries, very good service. I found my new must-have every time I visit my in-laws in Fredericton

Food and service was great! We tried a number of things and everything was top notch! Really liked the collection of NB beers offered as well.

Staff was polite and quick. Well lit and pleasant aesthetic inside. I didnt have to wait long for the burger i ordered and the presentation was great, but honestly the burger was pretty mediocre. It looked and sounded great, but it wasnt as good in my mouth as it was on paper. With a smaller menu i would have expected theyd be better at each item. Also pretty pricey for a burger, fries, and a coke. I cant speak for the rest of the menu, but with several great options around i wont go back there for a burger.

Decent food, been here multiple times for work lunches and dinners. Was disappointed with my lamb dish, the taste was there but the lamb was not trimmed of fat and I paid about $35 to eat lamb fat. Service is ok, dont have to wait too long for food. Their Caesars will be different each time you order one! They add different ingredients and garnish to each glass. I had asked them if they knew how to make a paralyzers and they said they did but it was awful. Overall decent food.

Very cozy place, the burger (540 North) is huge and tasty, although on the salty side. The drink (Whisky Sour) is awesome. The view is amazing, esp with all the lights. Will visit again <3

Drove to Freddi for the day to get Sushi next door, sadly closed. Silver lining - we came here for our eats! Cute atmosphere, great service (all of the staff were super chill and friendly), and good food! Love that theres randomly a TTC map on the wall by the washrooms - we moved from Toronto 2 months ago, this was the first good food experience we have had since our move! We will be back, and this will likely be date night location of choice! Bravo!

We came here during lunch on monday August 23rd and it was amazing! I would have given it 5 stars. Great burger, chicken wings, cobb salad, farmers salad etc. All were made out of real ingredients that were prepared perfectly and without too many adulterations. Today on August 27th we came for dinner service. Apparently, the chefs are different in the evening. Totally different story. All these amazing local ingredients were ruined. Overly pretentious, overly expensive menu. A small bowl of boiled veggies for 7 bucks? Not to mention undercooked, not fresh, and with dirt on the leaves. Steak was cold, ribs were dry, cobb salad was made with kale, no eggs this time (what makes it a cobb salad then?) Soup of the day way too sweet, someone mustve added too much honey accidently. The one saving grace was our fantastic waitress, I wish id gotten her name. While she didnt fully save the evening, she was incredible and accommodating.

This restaurant is attempting to be Fancy. Horrible at execution however. This dish Wich consists four pieces of arugula with one choped up piece of lunch meat, a horrific attempt at Beef Carpaccio was 14$. Mind blown at the hour + it took to get to my table. Do not recommend. Im all for supporting local businesses, but not this one. Its a shame because they run other restaurants here like the kitchen at picaroons or The light house.

I was visiting Fredericton on business and I wanted to grab a nice supper after a long day of work and boy did I make the right call by going to this resto bar! Beautiful dim lighting, nice beers on tap and excellent food. I did have a whale of a time here =))

This is the first restaurant I stopped at in NB, so maybe my perception is skewed b/c Im from Ontario, but the food is great for the price, with a quality beer selection. Cozy, pub feel to the place. My only concern was the lighting was rather dim, but I was looking for somewhere to unwind and relax, so it worked out perfect for me.

Nice place with great service. We went there for a lunch with some of our coworkers and guests. The server was excellent and food was good.

Lunch menu has a good variety. Fried Chicken Friday lunch special is a favourite. The Orange Chicken burger (Oct 30 2020 special) is the current personal favorite they have done. Staff are wonderfully friendly and very accommodating. It is a comfortable dining environment is great for catching up with friends or family. Highly recommended.

I like this place better for lunch than for dinner. Burgers and other sandwiches have been quite good. Triple fried fries are delicious. A recent dinner was just OK. The partners $26 shrimp pasta had only 3 shrimp. The service was brisk and curt; our entire meal from seating to leaving took less than 45 minutes. Good if youre in a hurry but not if you want to have a meal experience. It was a slow night at the restaurant so plates came out quick which isnt usually a problem when the restaurant is busier. If youre looking for rich and creamy comfort food, youll find it. The flavor profiles on their own are a little lackluster. For the price of entrees, Id expect better.
