Isaac’s Way Restaurant is well known as a gathering spot for the city of Fredericton serving a variety of customers year ’round, from tailored business suits to casual jeans, from giggling college students to chatty professors, from young whipper snippers to the older cane swingers, we are proud to serve them all! Our atmosphere is casual, colourful, and friendly. We entertain parties of six to larger groups of 20+, for birthday parties, business meetings, bridal showers, retirement socials, family reunions, holiday events, and more. The Isaac’s Way menu has a strong focus on local products: craft beers, New Brunswick meats, Atlantic seafood, and seasonally farmed vegetables.
Service was absolutely amazing. I would give 6 stars if I could just got that. I can't remember the name of the lady, but she was phenomenal. The food was good, I had the festive wrap and fries. Along with the apple cider and a coffee. Fries were great. The wrap was good but felt like it was missing something. The warm cider was delicious as well.
Thank you kennedy for helping us what to order! It was 10/10 ! We had Potatoes skin it was very delicious and I will miss this taste Fish and chips very fresh and the sauce it comes with is just perfect Bacon maple scallops penne it was well cooked pasta and so yummy
Nice friendly restaurant with a patio overlooking the river. Good options for vegetarian and vegan. Cozy atmosphere.
It’s been 2 years since I’ve had their marinated tofu burger with crispy coconut bacon and I am still thinking about it. No other burger veggie or otherwise has ever come close to being as delicious as the veggie burger I ordered from Isaac’s Way! I’m so sorry that it took me this long to write a review about it lol.
We took our son and his family here for supper while they were visiting us. What a fantastic meal! Everyone, teens included, loved their entrees and even ordered dessert to go, which was also delicious. Our server, Destiny, was awesome and very attentive and made great food suggestions. Also, we really appreciated the historic building in which this restaurant is located and it's ambiance. We highly recommend Isaac's Way and will return with our friends.
What a wonderful find this was for us. Loved the historical significance of the building and the original features they incorporated into the restaurant. Our server was knowledgeable about it all and great for helping us with our menu selections. The food was so delicious, with the sauces each course was served with. My salmon was in a maple curry with candied pecans— that and all the sides on the plate were so good! A fav appy was the scallop fritters. Not shown was the spice cake for dessert (enough for 2) and we were surprised to find afterwards it is gluten free. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough if you’re in Fredericton!
This restaurant was a fantastic discovery for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the quality of the dishes offered. The tofu burger I had was certainly one of the best I've ever eaten, and I would recommend it to everyone without hesitation. The staff were competent and friendly, the prices were affordable, the quality was impeccable, and the restaurant was clean. I highly recommend it.
Updated review! Myself and my friend went to Issac’s last week for the first time in a year! We had an awesome experience!! So much better that the last times we went! Sarah was our server (she’s been there for years and is a huge asset) and was fantastic! Was knowledgeable, prompt and helpful! Our food was also great! Presentation was beautiful and the taste of the food was exceptional! So happy that there was a switch up on the menu and things seem to be on the upward! Thanks Issac’s for taking peoples comments to heart and striving to do better!! To be honest, I have been coming to Isaacs for years, and sadly the last three-four times have been awful! There are a couple of great servers, but the food in my opinion has gone downhill! Even when I invite my family and friends they don’t want to come back here! I tried lunch here today, the service was sub par, the server did not check with me once how my food was! The soup was unpleasant (even the colour) (broccoli coconut) and the tofu burger was not worth the money! It’s sad, that I can make it better! Usually I would rejoice over this place but, I probably won’t be back and I will not recommend it anymore😢😢
Always great food and great service here.
It was our first time at Isaacs Way and it wont be our last. I had the Maple Bacon Scallop Penne in a creamy Cajun sauce. It was so delicious and there was quite a good amount of scallops. My friend has quite a few food restrictions and they accommodated her with no problem. The service was out of this world. The waitress went out her way to get the answers for all our question. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Lactose Free
Our server was great
EDIT: Isaacs way has come a long way since this review 3 years ago, they continue to grow, and improve. Loving this restaurant again and am happy to say, one of my absolute favorites again! Their vegan menu is amazing, and the quality of food is very good. I have not had another bad experience since my last review! This was my favourite restaurant in Fredericton, however, my last 2 visits were nothing like I was used to, sadly. The samosas have changed over the last year, and on my last visit, we were served cold and old coffee, and my veggie burger was actually deep fried, sitting in a pool of oil! The best thing about it was the oil covered greens. The soup of the day was a chipotle vegetable, delicious! I just cannot justify the cost of a poorly cooked meal, so sadly won t return, but the restaurant itself, lovely!
3 words: Chili Molasses Ribs
Got the blueberry pork tenderloin. Was delicious! However, if it says served with seasonal veggies, I am expecting more than 3 pieces of the same type of squash.
I stopped in for a late lunch, and had a couple of the vegan appetizers. They were absolutely delicious and I can t wait until I m back in town so I can try their dinner menu. The service was great, and the food came out relatively quick. The atmosphere was wonderful. The restaurant is located in the old historic court house and their walls are filled with art from local artists, which can be bid on through their silent auction. Dietary restrictions: Vegan options
I love it they give you a taste of the draft you want to try. i didnt see that often in a restaurant friendly staff good food and atmosphere
Visited Isaac s Way recently with a friend and was unfortunately quite disappointed. We had the haddock and fries and salmon cakes. The fish was very soggy and bland and the fries were completely undercooked and cold. Even the coffee s we ordered were cold, and when I informed the waitress, she said she would bring us fresh cups. Unfortunately, the replacements were equally cold and the waitress then proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the night. This was a special occasion that really turned out to be very much a letdown.
Edit to Add: Thank you Isaacs Way for listening and making this right! On August 14th my husband and I brought our friends from Ontario to your restaurant for dinner. I had a fish burger which was great. The other three had hamburgers which were almost too salty to eat. When we asked the waitress if there was anything on the burgers that would make them so salty she replied salt and pepper and dismissed us. She should have at least mentioned it to the chef, especially when all three had the same complaint. It is not great when you take guests out to dine and dont have a great meal or good service. We really should have sent the food back and wish that we had.
I had the pleasure of trying their steak special today, and it was absolutely incredible. The garlic butter asparagus and cherry tomatoes were simply out of this world. A huge shout-out to the chef for such a delightful meal!
Quick and efficient service. Exceptional food and drinks. Fantastic artwork.
All around one of my favorite places to get dinner at. The building is well laid out, I dont find it loud, even when its busy. The staff are excellent, always on point. Obviously the art is my favorite part, I always enjoy looking through the book everytime I go in. Now to gluten free. Isaacs Way has one of the best selections of gluten free options in the city. Hands down. I almost burst into tears when I read their seafood chowder was gluten free. Its excellent by the way. I should note that Im a very sensitive Celiac so its says a lot that Ive never had a reaction to their food. Cheers Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Try the squash Wellington! Dietary restrictions: gluten free galore!
The food was delicious. Salmon cake must have again.
One of the best restaurants in Fredericton
Nice location. Good service. Don t order the Lobster Roll . More of a lettuce roll with a hint of lobster and a smear of sauce. Very poor quality compared to every other lobster roll I ve had on the East Coast. Parking: There might be a few free parking spots available after 7pm. Reserved by adjacent businesses until then.
I used to love this place. I think they might be trying to hard to make vegan/gluten free food. Anyway its too bad.
Overall was pretty good. We had breakfast sandwiches and kids meals. The menu has good GF options which helped. Service was okay.
The food is simply excellent and so is the service. Well be back for certain!
Excellent meal and remarkable service!
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere. Loved all of the local art. Excellent service! Lots of vegan options as well. Highly recommended!
After spending 18+ hours on a train and driving for two hours from Moncton, my fiancee and I decided to try Isaacs as it was recommended by a local. You could imagine how excited we were to get some decent food in us, but we were very let down by the experience. I had the Bacon Maple Scallop Penne ($30 after taxes) and she had the Pulled Chicken Club Sandwich ($20 after taxes). My dish was certainly tasty, but the scallops were severely overcooked and I didnt realize it until halfway through that I couldnt taste any bacon or maple - I literally forgot what I ordered because it was good but it tasted like any random onion-based sauce (which I usually enjoy anyway). Add to the fact that the scallops were flavorless and the only thing accurate about the expensive dish was the Penne. Again, it was tasty but completely missed the mark on its description and quality for the price. My fiancees dish looked like a mashed mess on a basic dempsters bun, which immediately disintegrated all over the table because they dont pull the chicken enough to give it friction between the peices so its like a smashed breast that slides everywhere with the sauce. She ended up eating half of the soggy mess with a fork and knife, because remember we were still pretty desperate and it was getting late. She also asked for the house salad and got the raspberry dressing which was also mediocre. Both dishes were salty and disappointing as hell, but it came quick and with a smile. A few hours later and neither of us feel particularly great physically or mentally about the food, and a $10 premade sandwich at a random locally owned coffee shop in Montreal shouldnt surpass a $20 freshly-made smashed chicken burger thats sold as a club sandwich. Thats the stark difference in our experiences in 24hrs. It just kinda sucked food-wise. Probably a great place for drinks though. Thats the best I can say about it.
Great food and great server, Aaron. Vegan options!
This place is NOT dog friendly!! Was there with my GF and our new pup and was refused. Plz update ur website!!! Won t be back
Lovely breakfast. I highky recommend the special -Blueberry pancakes
The food was decent but I couldnt believe the portion size was that small for $16. I also think its pretty weird to apply the dressing pre-delivery Vegetarian options: Vegan options
Our experience at Isaacs Way was AMAZING. We first arrived early for our reservation and we were still seated immediately which was great. As soon as we were ready the server took our order and she was very friendly. The food was very quick to be prepared. The presentation was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. The prices were very affordable considering the quality of the meal. It cost us between 30-40$ per person including each an alcoholic beverage. When we mentioned it was our first wedding anniversary, they even gave us a dessert as a gift. Im very happy with everything! I totally recommend this restaurant.
Service was decent and the place was nice, but all of us were disappointed by our meals. My tenderloin that I ordered rare was well-done, the blueberry bourbon sauce just tasted like barbeque sauce, and my carrots were basically unseasoned. The glazed ribs seemed like they just had BBQ sauce thrown on at the end (no sticky glaze). The lobster penne is seriously lacking seasoning. The potato wedges were excellent though.
Went for dinner with a friend and we were sat on the patio as requested, before being ignored for 25 mins. Even as we closed the menus and put them aside, tried to make eye contact with the wait staff, etc.. they would just gawk and not come over. We ended up walking out. Weird as the inside of the restaurant was completely empty. Not the service I have come to expect from this establishment.
We loved this place. Food was excellent, and not your typical restaurant food. The mushroom and squash Wellington was really good. The best part was the art, great selection and variety by local artists with option to bid in silent auction or buy outright. We bought two pieces. Sea by Natalie Perry is going to look amazing in our stairwell.
Isaacs Way was my favourite restaurant in Fredericton since I moved here in 2020. We moved away earlier this year, so I made a point of going back while visiting family in Fredericton. I loved this restaurant because it had amazing Vegan options, especially for breakfast. I was OBSESSED with the Vegan benedict so I was Soo heartbroken to see that it had been removed from the menu, along with a few other vegan favourites of mine. I ended up getting the Vegan smashed potato for brunch, but what a disappointment! The Vegan hollandaise was, unfortunately, horrible. Sooo watery and flavour-less, plus it had a thick, plasticky film on the top of the side of hollandaise that I ordered. The sausage was quite sweet too, which was a bit off putting for me, and it didnt add anything to what should have been a savoury breakfast. All in all, it was just a huge disappointment and the worst food experience Id ever had at Isaacs Way. The coffee was also quite cold which made it less pleasant than Ive come to expect from here as well. The service was still good and the patio was lovely, but the food was a let down. I dont know if there was some staffing changes, but it definitely feels like there was less effort put into the quality of Vegan meals than before which is just such a shame. The Vegan hollandaise used to be sooo good, but todays was abysmal. I hope my experience was a one off, but Im afraid with the new menu, its a sign that the restaurant is going down hill and fast.
Great vegan selection and atmosphere
Eat spit in town for great food. Service is great. Dine with your dog in their shaded area.
Nice place to sit and have a lunch . Service is great
The new menue is amazing! Loved my bacon scallop pene meal! The chocolate cake was amazing! Waitress was excellent!
Good food, decent price, decent service. No complaints!
Fancy nice place, their salmon dish is one of my top 5. Love their coffee and the dessert options are all lovely. Food
Nice place, great atmosphere. The food is not expensive but average. The vegetable wellington is not recommended, but the chowder is still good. The food was acceptable but not amazing. The environment and location are excellent.
We went to dinner here tonight prior to a show at the Playhouse. We booked for 6:00 as the show started at 7:30 so thought that would give us ample time. The waiter took our order at 6:15. We weren t served until 7:05. I ordered the fish burger and fries. The fries were soggy and stone cold. The fish portion was very small, and breaded, which was also cold and soggy. The bun was cold, had a small smear of something on the top bun and a small piece of soggy lettuce. The whole meal was inedible. My partner ordered the chicken penne carbonara. Half the plate was stone cold and the other half was hot which would suggest to me it was just thrown in a microwave. The sauce was just cream .. ( no emulsion of egg), you needed a microscope to see any evidence of bacon, there was no Parmesan or pepper, all ingredients essential to a carbonara. If it wasn t for the fact we needed to leave for the show, we would have sent it all back. Our waiter asked as I was paying if everything was alright and I showed him my uneaten burger and fries and described our meal and disappointment. He was apologetic and offered us a free dessert on our next visit. We rarely go out to dinner and to pay top price for a meal out with such a poor experience is frustrating and annoying as there are so many great food places in Fredericton. I am not one to complain but hopefully someone at the restaurant will read this honest review and take it as an opportunity to do better.
They have the best menu design of all time. May they never change it.
Massively overrated. We went three times and each time the food was extremely average. Just... adequate. Which given the prices they charge, is disappointing. Seafood chowder is skimpy on the seafood, and on the chowder, and its watery instead of creamy. Great cocktails though. Nice space, the patio is lovely.
Loved the food and the ambience here. We enjoyed all the food we ordered here. Being the only vegetarian in the group, I wasnt disaapointed either. The staff was super friendly. They helped us plan an impromptu Fathers Day surprise too. Hope to be back here someday! Thank you.
Beautiful terrace, good food
The meal was delicious as was the lemon ginger drink!
Everything was perfect! Successful dishes and a very friendly welcome!
A great place to dine in Freddy Beach! Friendly efficient servers and delicious food. The art by local artists is lovely and for sale!
I was torn between giving this restaurant 3 or 4 stars, but my other meals downtown Fredericton were overall better. I dont enjoy when a server asks if youd like cheese but doesnt tell you theres an additional fee. The food was good but nothing special. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options.
Surprisingly good food
Im neither Vegan nor Vegetarian but I will come back for their Chickpea burger anytime. I travel a lot and Im always looking for an alternative to the standard fare in hotels, and for a unique atmosphere. Isaacs Way hits the mark on all counts, 5 stars from me!
The sundryed cod was very very good.
Friday night supper... fav pasta with chicken hubby pasta with SCALLOPS! LOTS HE SAID! EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM STEPHANIE! Girls in jail cell enjoying an 18 year old birthday party .. Vegetarian options: Squash wellington Caesar Salad Kid-friendliness: Burgers Just the fact that you eat in a jail court house.. the cell area. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp
Everything about our first experience here was next level! The service was perfection. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious and piping hot. We love that it s local, made fresh and full of local art. They accommodate vegan options and substitutions. We look forward to returning! Thank you for a lovely local experience!
Food is super overrated, but the service and atmosphere is generally very good.
Has been quite a while since I was last there. Food was well prepared and left me wanting more. Waitress was knowledgeable and helpful when asked about the items. Pricing was in line with other establishments offering like dishes. Thank you for a wonderful evening of dining.
Great meal. Very friendly staff.
We have eaten here before, the food were mediocre. But what we ordered this time was really sad. The seafood chowder tasted like salt water- thin and runny and not creamy. It had a bit of tiny scallops, one small piece of salmon trimming. The worst part was the two large pieces of rubbery salty fish that were not edible. It was not fresh fish for sure. The fish and chips was also mediocre with a batter coating that was not crispy and the fries were super salty that I only ate half of it before giving up. The server offered to bring some soup to replace it, but by then we were so disappointed with the food that we would rather just pay and leave. The server was friendly and the atmosphere was good, but the food failed.
Awesome birthday dinner at Isaacs Way. The food and service were fantastic. Thanks for a great meal and chat. We will be back.
Very nice atmosphere. Good service. Thank you.
Unique restaurant / art gallery with a decent menu and selection of cocktails and local beers, with a wonderful patio and great location near the river. Their ceasar is the bomb!! Spiced and really great depth of flavour! Salmon cakes are wonderful, and nice seafood selection. Ive had one bad experience (mussels werent fresh, chowder was meh, poached eggs in benedict were wayyyy over done, and staff was in a bad mood), but cant let that dictate their value on the whole. It happens, were all human. Ill definitely be going back because of the great atmosphere (and the ceasars!!). Thumbs down for no parking though, but hard to come by at a downtown location.
Great little place downtown serving up all kinds of food. Lots of local produce, meat and drinks!
Tried their squash wellington; it was ok! A bit too heavy...like there was nothing to cut all that richness from the potato wedges and the wellington itself - something more citrusy wouldve just made the dish a lot better. The staff was very nice and friendly tho! The service was a bit slow but other than that, it was good!
Love all the local art and the fabulous menu. Great variety of drinks and eats, including veg options.
House made everything.......awesome!
Great location, friendly staff, good food! Highly recommend if you are in the area! Good proportions but when it gets busy it gets busy. I think there is an appropriate wait time for food if staff lets patrons know. In saying that not sure if wait times here is the norm. I still recommend this place as its in a great location central especially when sight seeing.
It s an amazing restaurant
Great place. Must go there if you are visiting Fredericton
Super cute place. Had the veggie burger and it was yummy, a lot of toppings that kind of fell everywhere, but the taste made up for the messiness. Service was friendly and fast. Food : 5/5
Had heard great things about Isaacs Way and they were all true! Great food, service and ambiance. Hope to get back here again!
Nice place with a vintage touch. Food is yummy with accommodating staff. Good stop to add when you are in Fredericton, NB.
Great food and art.
I ordered sundried tomatoes Cod and Sweet potato fries and I just can say that was so delicious and totally worth it. Highly recommended.
Isaacs Way has never disappointed me. Its our favorite restaurant for special occasions. The food is always fantastic and the service is top notch. The local artwork is an added bonus. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped at Isaacs Way on a recommendation, and were quite glad we did. The food was excellent (we had the sun dried tomato cod, and squash Wellington, as well as scallop fritters). Our server was very good, and we felt welcome. The atmosphere was very nice, and the artwork very interesting. We actually took time after our meal to tour the place and look at all the art. I would absolutely recommend eating here. Check out all of my honest Google reviews. My photos have 12,000,000 views! Parking: $1/hour. Very reasonable.
Amazing service! Great food! I recommend
Curried lamb spring rolls were exquisite ! Fish n chips are flavourful/well seasoned, and not swimming in grease like most places
Dont forget to check out the Silent art auction
Good food, great atmosphere. Our server was very friendly, professional, personable, and attentive! Checked in on us 3-4 times, unobtrusively. Food
Very quaint and atmospheric first and foremost - I enjoyed this almost the most. Bonus points for all the artwork showing off local artists, too. Those things alone wouldnt make it a great restaurant, though. Food was very good and priced perfectly for what we got. Tasted great, presentation was good. All the staff were extremely friendly. All around highly recommended.
Went with friends and the food was excellent. Haddock was fresh and cooked perfectly.
Isaacs Way is a must-visit restaurant if youre in the area. The Curried Lamb Burger was a standout dish that I highly recommend trying. The service was prompt and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is also great, with a cozy and inviting interior, and the option to sit outside during the summer is a nice touch. Overall, Isaacs Way is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a pleasant setting.
Always amazing food and great service! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Options for vegan, gluten free, vegetarian
Isaacs Way Restaurant in Fredericton, NB is serious about the quality of ingredients, presentation of food, and service! We were in heaven with each bite we took of our dinner. I had the Maple Curry Salmon: Maple Curry Salmon Grilled Blacks Harbour salmon, flavoured with curry and maple syrup from Briggs Maples Ltd in Riverview, NB, served with spiced pecans, sweet potato mash, oven roasted beets, and seasonal vegetables.
I always love going to Isaacs Way with my family. Looking at the artwork is a highlight for us. The food is always good and my favorite dessert is the bread pudding. Vegetarian options: Definitely vegetarian friendly, so many options all day long, including dessert Kid-friendliness: Great highchair. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The kids menu is really good to. My 1.5 year old had the cheesy penne and loved it. We did too, we liked that the salt was kept to a minimum!
After calling asking if there was a issue ordering food as I have a extreme sensitivity. I also reminded them when ordering my food. They still put the ingredient in. I will never return and caution people with any sensitivity to avoid this restaurant. Yes I got sick.
What a gem. Prices are extremely fair in relation to the quality and plating. A must visit
Pancakes were a bit dense, and the portion of beans was in a small dip cup. Ran out of syrup half way through; really? That small of a syrup portion? Included lettuce with the Bennys was wilted and close to expiry. Was going to go there for dinner as well but went elsewhere. Vegetarian options: Theres a couple.
We were drawn in by the high rating, but left disappointed after eating our meals that dripped in grease. My Squash Wellington meal came highly recommended by the server. I ate half of it at best. Their claim of healthy food is a bit of a joke. The service and atmosphere were quite good.
We have always enjoyed eating here before a show, but tonight (May 7, 2023) was a big disappointment and we wont be back. The maple salmon was over baked and very dry and the vegetables that are usually quite tasty were without flavour. The samosas were also flavourless and quite salty. They offered us free desserts to make up for this, a nice gesture however the dinner took so long to come that we had to take them to go. We spent 1.5 hours there and about 45 minutes between the appetizer and main. The waiter apologized for this and let us know the kitchen was overrun but the place was almost empty. The women working the door who took us to our seat was rude and dismissive when I asked about sitting near a window, telling me there was nothing available near a window. I went to speak with her a second time to suggest that in fact there were many empty tables near windows that were not reserved. She was not happy about this and asked why I would want to sit at the small table for 2 people near a window when I could have the big booth. There were two of us and the table for 2 was perfect and bright, just what I asked for. Very weird and very poor experience. Looking forward to trying the HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Claudines restaurant for our next Playhouse dinner!
Food was really tasty, fries werent hot, but they were good. Service was amazing
Great food. Friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the pork tenderloin!
We went there for our anniversary dinner and we really enjoyed everything. The servicer we had named Tabitha was excellent. Thank you for making our experience a great one.
Cozy restaurant with a large selection of food and drinks. Local beers and international wines.
Parking is super confusing, hotel parking on one side, numbered reserved parking on the other, ended up parking at the library and walking
Lovely restaurant. Great service. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was very good.
Nice restaurant, pricey but worth it Parking: We parked on the street and had a nice walk. There was parking behind but we didnt use it Food : 4/5 | Service
A great patio experience with really nice vegan food options!! And the service was excellent! Vegetarian options: They had several vegetarian/vegan options in several sections of the menu and they were very tasty!
Food was great, service was great and atmosphere was terrific!
Came back after ten years, the food was just as great as I remembered, and we had amazing service from Destiny. One of the best experiences in recent memory.
Such a fantastic spot! Weve been coming to brunch for years, and its always great to see the quality of the food and establishment hasnt changed from its excellent standards. Very cozy and fills your palate with artful flavor, well always be coming back for more!
Absolutely loved their The Standard taste & look. Food is excellent, service is great
Like art, creative delicious food? Immerse yourself in original paintings, a cool setting for original food delights, warm friendly helpful wait staff and smile. You have found it. Our server was so nice, been pleasing Isaacs Way patrons for a decade. Come again!
Came here for my birthday brunch over the weekend and got an eggs benedict. The server didn t ask how I wanted my eggs so I assumed they d be cooked but still runny in the middle (like they re supposed to be on a Benedict). My eggs were overdone to the point that the yolk was completely hard; literally not a single drop of yolk ran out when I cut them. My server basically ignored me to talk to my guest the entire time, and didn t even notice that I hadn t eaten a bite of my meal when he checked on the table. Eventually just cut my loses and tried to eat it, but it was dry and gross. Extremely disappointing service and food from a restaurant that used to be so reliable, and definitely not the birthday breakfast I was hoping for. Save yourself this horror and go to Coras or The Palate instead, where they actually know how to poach an egg.
Food was really good. We had a large table our server was overwhelmed. Everything worked out in the end.
Delicious vegan food, plenty of options, see pics. Bryn our server was amazing! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan options, see pics Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegan options, see pics
A little disappointed for the r not, but its a very pleasant restaurant
Atmosphere is good. Great service. Poor food. Pork and potatoes were over cooked. Chicken was overcooked. Fish had dry coating and was overcooked. Food was disappointing to say the least. Been there before and food was good. What happened? We wont be back.
As you step into this restaurant, it has a wonderful vibe. The staff are super friendly! Derek, our server, did an awesome job. Enjoying sipping on a refreshing lemonade as I waited for my dinner to arrive. The Atlantic Lobster Roll was apart of the seasonal menu and it was soooo good! It was served with potato wedges and a delicious coleslaw salad. Finished my meal with a peppermint tea and a berry pie. If you are in town, this restaurant should be a must do! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Since I m in Fredericton, I selected the Atlantic Lobster Roll which was excellent!!
Nice surprise for two hungry vegans. Friendly service, interesting art on the walls, lovely river view patio. Vegetarian options: Half a dozen vegetarian entrees, at least. Most of them have a vegan option. Dietary restrictions: A number of high quality vegan options
The restaurant is decorated with art by local artists and I believe it is for sale. There is a good variety of mains with different proteins and options for different dietary preferences. The Strawberry Basil cocktail was delicious and I really enjoyed the chowder and cesar salad meal. Wait staff is very friendly and personable.
Excellent restaurant in downtown Fredericton. Great food; funky decor. Along with more sophisticated dishes, they have superb sweet potato fries.
The service was great but the food, not so much. Salmon cakes were so disappointing. The salmon was old and there could not have been more capers in one recipe. The spinach Caesar salad may have been 8 leaves at most so needless to say the proportions were very small.
It was alright, I ordered the scallop fritters and found them kinda soggy in the middle. The salad was kinda meh. Its not horrible but not quite as elevated as I expected. Maybe it was just an off day because Ive heard great things. But it has a great vibe and the staff were very pleasant. Ill definitely have to try it again and try a different dish.
We enjoyed our meal at Isaacs Way. The food was tasty and they had one of our favourite beers, the Off Road Campfire Red, on tap. We started with the Potato Skins and had the Curried Lamb Burger, the Tenderloin, and the Smoked Tofu Carbonara for mains. The carbonara tasted a little too coconut-y for our liking, but the others were great. We liked that the menu is diverse with many options. The wait for service and food was a bit long but we still enjoyed our experience.
The Maple Curry Salmon was so delicious.. so was the Caesar salad.. Yum!!! Dietary restrictions: They were very affordable to my potato allergy.. thank you Kid-friendliness: They gave the kids pages to color and a puzzle..
Ordered delivery....passing through NB. I got the salmon and it was so very nice. Great to have some healthy food!! My hubby had the pulled chicken and really enjoyed it. Pleasantly surprised!! The quality and flavors were excellent. I am especially fussy about quality and this meal made me happy!! To add....driving back to Ontario from NS we once again choose Isaacs Way for our dinner and again....awesome!!
We booked a spot on the dog friendly patio on our recent trip through the province for my moms birthday. The staff was so friendly and very accommodating of our pups who are still getting used to patio dining. They brought water and greeted them. The food was very tasty, I enjoyed my lobster roll and my mom loved the ribs. Definitely a great place to stop especially if you want to dine with canine companions.
Excellent food at a very reasonable price. My partner ate a fish and chips and I had the stuffed portebello mushrooms. We both loved our meals. Excellent service. And, for those who appreciate arts, the place posts paintings from various artists everywhere in the restaurant. And there is parking available!
Some dishes have good quality but others are horrible. Too many mistakes and greasy dishes. Descriptions on the menu do not accurately represent the food that is served to you. Issac s way has lost its way.
Awesome restaurant! Consistently high quality food with decent pricing. Super friendly staff, great laid back atmosphere. Love the ongoing silent art auction!
delicious vegan burgers! amazing art! 10/10 Food : 5/5
Say outside. Drinks were great, service was great and food was just what I wanted.
Absolutely delicious, favourite spot in fredericton
We came in 15 minutes before closing and the staff were more than happy to serve us.
The maple salmon and scallop pasta were delicious. Everything was well prepared and fresh.
My husband and I went to Issacs Way on our way through Fredricton. Had the Maritime potato s skins , chowder and chocolate cake. All the food was amazing! Our server Destiny was super helpful and efficient. Would highly recommend this quaint restaurant with wonderful local art pictures throughout.
Quite good. Great beer selection and deliciously prepared food. I got the soup and salmon cakes. Although I felt the salmon cake portion was on the small side, it was quite tasty and filling. Great interior decor and service by multiple staff members. Food : 5/5
Finally a really good vegan breakfast! This is a dream come true! Will try for a vegan dinner tonight. Cant wait!!
Consistently great food, reasonable prices, and good service.
remarkable service from Destiny. She was very polite, food was good, coffee was good, nice patio. You have yourself a five star.
Excellent gluten free options! Had the Philly sandwich and apple butter pork tenderloin. Both were absolutely delicious!
We had a good time and a good meal. I dont even remember if there was background music. If there was, it was at the appropriate loudness as we could easily have a conversation. The only issue is parking, I sometimes have difficulty with my mobility, and we lucked out and were able to park right beside the building. I only gave 3 stars for the food because I ordered the ribs, and Im not really a rib fan. However, they sounded worth trying, and I dont regret my decision.
The atmosphere is enjoyable .. art work everywhere .. the hostess was ver polite .. my waiter spoke really low and I had to ask to repeat several times .. I had 2 appetizers the ground lamb curry somosas and fried potato skins .. lamb dish was ok but too greasy and skins were so tasty with goat cheese crumble .. overall good experience but wouldn t go back
Food was okay. The portions were pretty big but flavour was lacking.
The service Rue provided was excellent! Loved the decor & local art. Only improvement that could be made is all of our entrees were not hot when they arrived mid you, there were 7 of us. They were plated well and tasted great. Destiny was awesome - heated mine up for me. The lemonade Cocktail was so refreshing! I recieved their delicious gluten-free Spice Cake complementary since it was my birthday. I went again on Thanksgiving Sunday, Jesse provided excellent service and knew the menu very well. Vegetarian options: My Vegetarian family members had lots of options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of Gluten-free options.
Quality food and a great choice for vegetarians. Good spot for breakfast/brunch and is very reasonably priced.
Great service, great food
You nailed weird for sure but left me feeling aggrieved. Lamb roll tasted pre-cooked and reheated, to put it bluntly I am suspicious chef Costco was involved. Sweet potato fries were fine, I guess, but the dip was not. Costco probably carries the brand. The deep feeling of aggrievment came from the burger. The burger gets a 3.2. To put it into perspective, Janes in Oromocto burger is a 7.8 ( the best burger I have had in NB) the 3.2 burger however was a flat round mass of minced meat lacking any flavor and desspretly needing fat. Go to Janes if you require a good burger in your life.
Tons of vegan and vegetarian options! The tofu burger was delicious with a great smokey flavour, and coconut bacon is a nice touch. Fries were premium as well. Vegetarian options: Tons of veggie options or alternatives to make dishes vegetarian or vegan.
The waiter was excellent. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. All 4 of us loved our food and experience - salmon cakes, lobster penne, cranberry almond salad with chicken, and a pork dish. Desserts were chocolate cake and chocolate cheese cake with a brownie bottom. Mmmmm
I have yet to be disappointed with my meals. Apps, mains and desserts. Drinks on tap are local to NB most of the time and service is great.
Isaacs way is always a solid choice when you are with a group who cant decide what they want, that has a lot of dietary restrictions, or if you just want to go somewhere that you know will always be delicious. Their menu always has a seasonal option, and their dedication to local ingredients and options is fantastic. Everything is always amazing, no matter what you order. Ive tried the lamb burger (probably my fave), the salmon, the shrimp penne, the squash wellington (also AMAZING), and so many other things. I have never been disappointed with a meal at Isaacs way.
Usually busy. Good breakfast and lunch options. Pleasant ambiance.
Morgan our server was very professional, knowledgeable and so funny. He had no idea that my mom recently passed away and he made our evening light hearted and memorable. We can t thank him enough.
One of our favorites. Energy and atmosphere with vibrant colors and local artists, community-forward establishment. Local food and excellent service. As plant-powered patrons, we appreciate the thoughtful options.
This place is incredible! I went you my birthday last night and our server was attentive and friendly. I was tired of places like Jingle Jims and such and realized I hadnt been here since they rebuilt. It was always good, but now its so much better. A Fredericton staple! Another thing I will note - everyone around us seemed to be there for different reasons. It looked like there were people dressed up real nice on a date, a table of friends enjoying a Friday night, a guy by himself doing some work at his table. So look, if youd like a change from what I think a lot of us sort of just fall into by habit, give Isaacs Way a try. Oh!! And, the reason Id always sorta stayed away was what I thought the prices were. Nope! Prices comparable to places like Coffee Mill or Jungle Jims or Pizza Delight but FAR BETTER food, atmosphere and service
The dulse fries are so good.
Bland dinner special: chicken penne was poor (did not finish it). Service good.
Tasty food, great atmosphere. Loved our server Sarabeth. I am gluten intolerant and there were so many amazing options to choose from and they adjusted my order to make it work with zero hesitation!
The food was greatly underwhelming, for the price of the food I expected better taste and quality. Staff was also not in a good mood. Edit:if i could give 0 stars i would. they made me feel uncomfortable asking for gluten free options, i was recommended this restaurant by my celiac group because apparently they are accommodating but to be honest they arent, i still got sick and it wasnt even worth it, i left no tip because the server did even acknowledge us or bring us drinks, she tried to make small talk towards the end when we were paying but i didn t acknowledge her not worth the 80$ we spent.. go somewhere else like Claudines Eatery if you want something delicious and worth the price, they have friendly staff who always makes you feel welcomed and is accommodating to your needs
Wasnt too bad. My first visit to this restaurant. Seated quickly offered a beverage fairly quickly. Staff seemed to know the menu well. Even if your a picky eater theres something for everyone. Only complaint was the booths are not meant for portly people. Though I fit fairly well. Parking: Small parking but spots available on the street.
Food was great, but no beers or wine that I like, and service was very slow.
Great meal and the server was terrific. Made suggestions and made the meal even better.
Simply fantastic!!!!! I ll be back from Vancouver !
Ordered take while staying Hilton across street, no bags for take out, and no utensils, or napkins. I can foresee this place on Kitchen Nightmares
Great service and meals. We had the sundried tomato and cod as well as the squash Wellington. Everything was great.
We had another enjoyable dinner tonight at Issacs Way. This place never fails at being welcoming and delicious. I just had the best mussels in a carbonara sauce that Ive ever had in my life. If great food and amazing service is what youre looking for, Issacs way is where you need to go.
The best restaurant for hours in any direction. Outstanding food at a reasonable price and a great selection of local spirits too.
By far the best food on the east coast this trip. 100% would recommend.
The quality is not there anymore. I was so disappointed. I used to love their food and their service. i will not be going there anytime soon.
Love this place
Destiny was my server she was Awesome wonderful and friendly! The food was perfect! I would definitely eat there again!
Nice atmosphere and not busy when we went which was nice to be able to have a conversation. I had the haddock and fries. Fries were good and so was the tartar sauce. Haddock was not moist or flaky, the breading wasnt crisp and it wasnt very hot leading me to believe it wasnt fresh/reheated.. Price seems on par with other restaurants but quality wasnt there for me.
Great staff, excellent food, amazing atmosphere with loads of local art. Really an art gallery mixed with a restaurant. Plenty of celiac safe gluten free options.
Nice venue, but the food is not great. Weve gone there 4 times over the past 3 years. Each time hoping the food has improved, but it has not. I had pork that had far too much garlic. We had a reservation, yet did not get seated for an additional 48 minutes.
