Love it at St. James Gate! I had the Seafood risotto! Perfect! Lots of seafood, with veggies!

The food here is excellent, let me start with that, giving it a 5 star but it is a bit of an ...odd menu. They do interesting takes on a lot of classics but with a twist. Its usually super yummy but for example I ordered Arancini because I was kinda wanting Marinara. It came with Kimchi sauce and Avocado puree which.... Was really yummy but not really what I was hoping for haha. Its partly on me not reading the menu close enough but just an FYI haha. Its easily a 5-star place, beautiful and fair prices.

I also worked in food industry i always appreciate whatever customer give as a tip even if it s 5cent or 50 dollars both are equally appreciated. I went there with my family to try a new place with new food. But I don t know why your service all depends on tips . I wonder how can a staff member asks you a question are u new in canada ?and asking ..where are you actually from ?and showing attitude after getting 5 American dollars as a tip . When we ask what happened is there anything wrong she flaunts her attitude and said I was just wondering because u give me American bills . And she went back and put it back on the table and leave the tip on table. That s so heart breaking and I feel very bad on the choice to pick this restaurant for my family time.

Great restaurant with a good atmosphere and service. The meals were fantastic. We definitely will come back more times.

SJG aka the Gate is a restaurant within a golf club. It is busy, particularly on Wednesday and Friday nites during the golf season! Dont expect a quiet evening on these nites but rather a lively vibe.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at St James Gate and I cannot recommend them enough. Jessica and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, they were so accommodating with dietary restrictions, and above all they were friendly and wonderful to work with. The cherry on top is that the views are beautiful!

Atmosphere is great. Service is even better. Our food showed up nice and hot but it was nothing special. I did not like the texture of the chicken. Presentation was great.

Beautiful location on the West Hills golf course. Great seating layout. Very comprehensive drink and food menus. I ve been here multiple times and the food has been really really good. You won t be disappointed.

Went there for Valentines dinner. Everything was fabulous. Looking forward to going again.

The Gate is one of the best places in town . The atmosphere, the food is wicket .. cannot get enough. The food is topped up up by the incredible service at the bar with Courtney and Krista s . They r part of the atmosphere. . the atmosphere It s a WOW place

St James Gate is our favourite place to dine in Fredericton! Great food, friendly service and a super welcoming atmosphere. We love that every time we come we see lots of familiar faces. A super cozy spot for date night, a nice dinner with family, or even a fun night out friends. The menu is delicious with lots of variety! You can tell everyone works as a team to make customers feel comfortable and taken care of!

I am not the most regular at SJG but I do show up when I go out for dinner, share a table with the guys after mens night golf, (always a special on the menu). Brought my wife out for a birthday dinner with some close friends. Its classy and the staff are most excellent. Kelly is Pro, super accommodating. All the staff are excellent, great food, great times. Go to SJG, take a friend, take your family!

I have only dined there on a few occasions and it was very enjoyable. Great food , atmosphere and it s family friendly. Love the building style and property . Excellent outdoor space for dining Al fresco too ! The staff were always very welcoming. I have introduced this restaurant to clients who are new to our city, and they enjoyed it too ! I love everything about St. James Gate. The food is always fantastic. Every item on the menu is done to perfection. The atmosphere is just right for lunches and well adjusted for an intimate evening meal. And we get the best service from ALL the staff and management. Food was very good but drinks were terrible. Beer was flat. Cocktails tasted like dish soap. Will try again but they need to get the bar sorted.

We had a reservation in the room at St James Gate and had the best service we have ever received from a restaurant . Kristina was our waitress she was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. She made it a very memorable experience. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Very willing to accommodate dietary restrictions

Great service. Great food . Burger was cooked perfectly ... fries were good, but they were shoe strings, which I really was not expecting . A place like that should be bottle neck or better, in my opinion. Great atmosphere but the music was a bit loud for a sit down meal . Couldent hear the people I was with across the table. Parking: I know you cant help the terrain, but the handicap parking was on a slant, which made transferring a bit more challenging in and out of my car to my wheelchair l. Chicken carbonara was not good. No salt, pepper, or spoons on the table. Had to wait 5 minutes after food served to get a spoon.

High prices for mediocre food. A very small piece of cheesecake was $12. A little piece of chocolate cake for my 9 year old granddaughter was $10. My Mom had the jerk chicken and it was so dry that she asked the waitress for something to put on it. She didn t like her meal. My granddaughter had the kids mac and cheese $10 no taste and very bland. My bill came to $83 for myself and my granddaughter plus 15% tip. Very disappointed.

What a great spot. Our food was stellar, I highly recommend the Bison Burger, and because youre worth it, order The Other Woman...its a like drinking an Orange Creamsicle!

Saint James Gate in Fredeticton hosted our wedding reception this past weekend. It was a wonderful experience, the entire service from the planning the event with Jessica to the execution of the meal was well done. We rented the conference room and the beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course, the atmosphere and grounds were perfect. The service was excellent, we had a number of special requests for food sensitivities, and non alcoholic Cocktails and the staff had these requests delivered to our very appreciative guest. The food was excellent! We had a luncheon that started with champagne served on balcony, once seated, on the table was this amazing fresh baked bread with honey butter (I mean fresh...so good), then a garden salad. The main was crispy chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes with pan gravy, it was delicious, followed by our cake, tea ànd coffee. All our guests remarked on how lovely the reception was. The reception was carried out exactly how we had planned. Jessica and the team at SJG did a fantastic job.

Been here twice now for dinner. Both times pleasant and great service and the food is delicious. We did the Valentines Day set menu and it was fabulous and then last night I had the seafood risotto that was so rich and delicious. Kudos to the chefs on serving such good quality food with great presentation! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and seems like adding meat to certain otherwise vegetarian dishes is an option

My wife and I were treated to dinner by a friend on Saturday 12 Aug. I had the Seafood Risotto, which was supposed to include lobster, shrimp and scallops which sounded delicious. When my plate arrived it looked bland and so it tasted. It consisted ot three shrimp and scallops, but no sign of lobster. I called the next day and left a message. No return call was made.

Every time we go, we get something different. Food is always great.

We called at 8:10pm asking what time they closed and what time the kitchen closed, they assured us it would be 9pm and the person speaking said we could come right in for food. I personally don t feel comfortable going to restaurants so close to their closing time however the host assured us she d be more than happy to have us come in. As clearly stated by the host, they did last call for food at 9pm. We show up at 8:20pm, 10 minutes from when we called and are told they are not serving food anymore and that the kitchen has been closed. We drove 20 minutes to get there just to be told they won t serve us. Will not be returning.

Man, what a gem. I had the new old fashion...omg....a solid drink. My wife loved her blackened fish and calamari. I had steak frites (10 oz striploin) awesome! Great sauce on the steak. We had Rachel as a server. What a great server. Super nice & attentive. My recommendation would be too check out the clothing store attached. We had a great time talking too the women who owns it. She has great clothing options at reasonable prices for the quality. I wish I could remember her name.

Tried St. James Gate in Fredericton, West Hills Golf Course, for the first time (as we have been and loved the the Moncton location). We were disappointed that the first two drink selections (on tap) were all sold out. A Friday night and you are out of things on tap, not a good first impression. Otherwise we order the Thai chicken app, amazing. The fish tacos and sweet potato fries, delicious for me. My partner had the pork tenderloin with garlic mashed (though a lil dry) delicious. We will try this place again, hopefully they will not be out of so many of the on tap choices. Great atmosphere, awesome wait staff and an amazing view of the course. Next time we hopefully can sit on the patio.

We had a really nice dinner on July 3, our party of 11 all enjoyed their meals. Even the kids dishes were large portions and well received (kids mac n cheese came in a cast iron skillet and made my niece feel fancy!) Nice cocktail list. For mains, standouts were probably the blackened halibut, tacos and the shrimp/scallop salad was also great. Truffle fries starter was huge and delicious, not too overpowering in flavour. Everything came out at the same time which, when it doesnt, is a big minus in my picky books! Our server was Cory and he was very attentive and nice. Recommend!

Was part of a table of 8 on a very busy Tuesday Night. The restaurant was really busy and a few new staff members were being trained. Even under those conditions, the service and food was top notch. Would highly recommend the restaurant. The golf course is extremely nice as well.

My wife and I had an almost perfect evening here recently. Service, cocktails, and food were really outstanding. Probably among the best in Fredericton. Our server was experienced and particularly helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the noise level in this new restaurant is almost unbearable. We were sitting in the corner at a table for 2 and had to shout to one another. The acoustics from the other patrons and ambient noise are simply terrible, and to make matters worse, there was some sort of music being piped in. If you want a delicious meal I heartedly recommend this establishment -- but go alone because you wont be able to carry on any meaningful conversations.

We had the buffalo burger, sweet potato fries, greek salad and the ruben. All were delicious.

Wonderful first experience. Our party of 8 sat outside with the gorgeous backdrop of the golf course. Service was efficient, friendly, informative. Drinks and food arrived within reasonable time. Quailty of food was very good. More plant-powered options would be appreciated. I had the bowl and it was very good. Fresh greens and delicious chickpeas and hummus. Solid and satisfying meal. We had our 100+ person wedding here in June. It was amazing, everything went off without a hitch, food was delicious and the staff was incredible! Jessica was fantastic to work with, she was a huge help in planning the day-of, and made the whole process much less stressful. Couldnt recommend this venue more!!

Hands down the best seafood risotto I ve ever had!

I have eaten here 5 times since they opened. Some of their food is very good and some of it is not. The salads are bland and disappointing. The olive appetizer was terrible. The service is good and the atmosphere is fine.
