Pepe's Chophouse in Garibaldi Highlands

Tonight, we had decided that for our 46th Anniversary we wanted to stay home and cook a meal together. That said, we also wanted to treat ourselves to a glass of wine and appetizer at our favourite restaurant before dinner. What a treat it was! Thank you for a wonderful time with good friends!

What a hidden gem, so in assuming from the outside, not only you till have the best pasta, seafood and steak, but the best butter chicken too :) not to mention the tiramisu Food

Me and the 2 others I had dinner with had the sirloin steak special with butternut squash ravioli and all 3 of our steaks were overly chewy.i dont think it was sirloin at all,seemed more like a blade steak to me.they were all cooked differently as I like medium rare.my bro likes med well and dad likes rare.so it wasnt that.pretty disappointing when you spend almost $200 for dinner for 3

The food is absolutely incredible here!! We had an intimate group wedding dinner here last night and they did an amazing job. Service was outstanding!! I can t wait to return to Squamish to eat here again!

The food is 100% mediocre. Salmon was a small dry portion, steamed veggies were bland and tasteless as well as barely cooked. My son ordered the baby back ribs - not much meat on those bones and what was there was tough. Cranberry and goat cheese salad was large but unoriginal and I ve already forgotten it. The side of sourdough bread was sliced prior to heating and every slice was dry. Nice try, Pepe, but we won t be returning. Also the women s bathroom toilet was leaking on to the floor. Kind of gross.

Everything was delicious! We had Mussels in curry sauce, caprese salad, and calamari for appies! All were amazing! For entrees, we had butter chicken, prawn fajitas and mushroom truffle chicken.

Male Host upon arrival was friendly and warm. Our waitress unfortunately was not so warm and it was difficult to get her attention despite waving at her multiple times as she walked towards and past our table on a number of occasions avoiding eye contact. I had a prawn appetizer and a steak and butternut squash ravioli. The prawn appetizer was flavourful but undercooked -- the first one I bit into was raw inside, and another one was clearly raw (the tail half). When I informed the waitress, she apologized and took it to the kitchen. A few minutes later, my partially eaten plate (including the prawn tails) returned with my remaining, now overcooked and rubbery, prawns on it. I was surprised that the restaurant did not remake it, or at very least replate it. Neither was the dish discounted on the bill. Very disappointing and not the kind of customer service I was expecting from a chophouse. The main was okay in terms of flavour but the presentation was very poor and the portion size smaller than what I would have expected for $38. The steak, which was not tender and very hard to chew through, was swimming in some sort of very watery sauce (my guess was maybe au jus mixed with what seemed like a lot of blood from the steak). The butternut squash ravioli was sitting in a cream sauce on the same plate, and the sauces just ended up mixing/blending into an unappetizing mess of creamy, bloody, au jus. I wanted to like this place as we came for a special occasion and it was recommended to us, but I dont think Ill be back. I was disappointed in the service and value/quality for the money. My friend did like the artichoke dip and said her main (chicken parmesan with truffle gnocchi) was not bad, which is why I am giving it 3-stars as an overall rating.

This is my second this in Squamish and second time at Pepe s! Absolutely friendly staff, valuable & well tasting, fresh classic dishes. I bet whatever you re eating is your favourite thing on the menu! Great value as well. 10/10 from a very picky critic!

We come here all the time, its awesome. Theres something for everyone. I love the chicken schnitzel and the halibut! If we ever have out of town guests this is always where we take them.

Came just before the rush so got lucky there. That being said, even though we were seated first, two other groups got their orders and food before us. Steak was okay. Fajitas were the right proportions and none was wasted!

So good had if for my birthday dinner the other night at the millionaires cut is to die for perfectly cooked and seasoned and the service was amazing all so nice. And they were even able to accommodate moving tables around 4 us overall verry great dining experience

Our first time at Pepes restaurant, I never knew this place existed till i won a gift card from them by Cheekye Ranch, where I volunteer. This place is awesome and will definitely come back!

We had a very enjoyable evening at Pepes. The food was excellent, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was very pleasant! We ordered Truffle Fries to start and we were both impressed with not only the quantity but also the taste. We ate what we could as the portion was rather large and we needed room for our main courses. The following day we heated the remaining fries in the air-fryer and had a wonderful snack. We had Seafood Linguini and Seafood Tacos as our main dishes. Both were well prepared and tasted excellent, especially the Linguini. And finally we had the in-house Tiramisu to share which was a lovely way to top off the eating experience. We had a glass of Shiraz to complement our meal. The price was very reasonable considering the size of the portions and the quality of the food and wine. We plan on returning again in the Spring to experience the outdoor patio. Cheers!

Usually this place is great and we enjoy our meal, however a Monday night seemed to be the chefs off day. Ribs were smothered in a weird bbq sauce that was like pure sugar, the veggies were also under cooked and when I mentioned it to the server she replied with no else complains about the ribs sauce and took it away, no other options were offered, then proceeded to just give us our bill. Not once did she ask if we wanted more drinks, or dessert. She gave us 15% off the meal I had, so I paid $23 for eating a few fries

Went here for dinner without reservations on a Thursday and it was packed so you might consider making reservations. The service was amazing! The food was pretty good. We had the spaghetti bolognese, seafood fettuccine, nachos and salmon. The seafood fettuccine was pretty good. Had a good amt of seafood and sauce. Recommend. The bolognese was ok: the tomato base was quite acidic; needs more flavour and tone down the acidity. Don t recommend. The nachos were great. Make sure to order their guacamole. It s delicious. Recommend. The salmon dish was ok. They over cooked the potatoes so they were dry AND the salmon. It was dry. If they fixed that issue I d order it again but as it was I don t recommend.

Poor first impression. Called in on Thursday when they opened at 5:00 pm, the recording said if we did not hear back we were to consider the reservation accepted, we drove up for a 6:30 pm seating. They seemed unwilling to accommodate us, said they had no reservation, obviously they had not checked their messages, they acted as if we were inconveniencing them. There were very few guests sitting and there was no line up. Looked like a slow night, why the look like we had done something wrong? We got forced smiles from the wait staff during service. Food was okay, a bit on the pricy side considering the quality of the food itself and the atmosphere of the restaurant (wide open, loud and noisy roadhouse tavern). Felt like they prefer to serve their locals and regular customers. I won t be back.

Nice atmosphere... But service was slow to non-existent. Server walked away from the table having only taken part of the drinks order, then we waited 10min for the drinks. After asking for the bill and waiting for 15min, I got up to go pay at the front desk.

We had a family dinner for six at Pepes. Four of the group were vegetarians. We did not find that to be a problem at all. Although the vegetarian options were limited there were enough tasty options to keep everyone happy. The meals were all wonderful and the service was excellent.

Prices are unbeatable for the food quality. Service was amazing. Will definitely be back

Showed up at530 pm for an end of project dinner without a reservation for a party of 20. Even tho at first they seemed a little overwhelmed with our request they manage it perfectly. Delicious food!

The place looks old, it had a bit of an unpleasant smell when we came in, so I wasnt expecting much, but Im glad I was wrong. The menu is well balanced and the seafood pasta was absolutely delicious, with a generous amount of seafood in it and a very good sauce. My husband had a bolognese and enjoyed it just as much. We stayed at Fairmont hotel before that, and honestly, their supposedly upscale $250 dinner tasted so, so much worse than this pasta. This is the best dinner weve had so far on our road trip.

Delicious food. Unfortunately, poor service. Our server (Erin) seemed very uninterested in serving us as we arrived. Most of the time, that can be overlooked. But next, they came out and spilled cutlery on top of one of our party, who is 7 months pregnant. Instead of apologizing, they just said wow. I better get another set and left the table. Lastly, our request to split our bill between the three couples (all of which stayed in the same seats for the evening) included a comment insinuating that we were inconveniencing them, and required the split that we asked for to be confirmed 2 if not 3 times. All in all it took away from what was otherwise a great meal. Id like to point out that Im writing this review to highlight how this experience can be perceived by customers, and hopefully, similar situations can be avoided in the future. A little apology to our friend and a bit of professionalism would have gone a long way.

The food here was fantastic! I ordered the baseball cut, specifically based on the description saying that it couldnt be cooked over medium, which I found incredibly appetizing as I love my meat rare! My husband also greatly enjoyed his millionaires cut. We came here with family, so I forgot to take photos, and everything was absolutely beautiful! The lighting was incredibly, romantic, very dimmed at the time that we came, and service was fast and very accommodating. The camerone prawns were absolutely delicious, a little too hot for my auntie though and the guac-schetta came out very cute. Parking: Nice large parking lot directly out front

It was our 1st time visiting BC and decided to go this restaurant &we had a horrible server Kris,she was very unpleasant, didnt even smile,forgot to put our appetizers in,drinks sucked we waited for soo long,food was ok .But I would never go back there, she needs to adjust her attitude it stinks.If u get her please request someone else.

This experience was horrific and are waitress rude and very unprofessional,unpleasant and not welcoming. She was also very forgetful and served all the other tables with respect except are table. As she was serving us she had an unpleasant look and was not happy to serve our table.

The ribeye is a scam!! We dined here on our way back to Vancouver after doing the 2023 Whistler Gran Fondo. I ordered the ribeye as Chicago medium rare which is pretty simple to make. The steak came and it was no thicker than 1/8 of an inch. I said there s no way in hell this is a medium rare. Sure enough, the steak was well done. I sent the steak back and asked for medium rare which they got right the 2nd time. But my biggest beef of all is that the steak on either plates that came wasn t a ribeye at all probably a skirt steak but definitely not a ribeye. The inferior flavour of the steak was masked by the blue cheese. I was pretty disappointed and needless to say that we are not coming back and definitely not recommending to anyone we know. Come on, when you re paying $56 for a steak, you should at least get the real deal! Stay clear of the ribeye at this supposedly called chop house .

Food was great! Definitely one of the best tasting and great value in town. Atmosphere was so-so. The service though was terrible. Hostesses emitted this super negative aura the whole time. No warm welcome, no authentic connection with any of them, we felt rushed when our server was taking the orders, none of them wore nameplate. Our server was always side-eyeing our party. I think I probably would have given 5 stars, but I happened to go on a night that some company was holding a very loud and rowdy Christmas party. It was brutal. Couldnt hear the person next to me. If not for that, it probably would have been amazing. Id give it another try, but Id recommend that if theyre hosting a party that maybe they should close it down for the event.

Had our staff Christmas party here, Food was good, prime rib was excellent, however point of note, please put horseradish on the side not smeared on the meat, I love horseradish but I like to dip!. Best wings I have found so far in Squamish, very crispy, good flavor, would have again. only issue I had was presentation, we had someone with a Shelfish allergy at our table, and all aps came on the same plate, wings bruschetta, and Shrimp, i understand it was family style but,,, probably should follow up on allergy notes first. Also deserts all came on 1 plate as family style, with covid going on, not exactly appropriate, wish i could have tried the deserts but unfortunately I just wasnt putting myself in that situation

Went here on New Year s Eve and had a great dinner with my partner! We shared the starter tacos and the pasta with seafood and they were both fantastic, this is a great place to go for a special date night! Also they have a delicious dessert menu definitely try the tiramisu!

Wonderful atmosphere and atentitive staff. I had the minted rack of lamb and it was delicious. My wife had the beef fajitas, and then we shared a teramisu. I would definitely eat here again!

The best butter chicken!

Pepes never disappoints! The drink menu is varied and creative. There are so many delicious items on the menu, its not easy to choose. We had the pork chops tonight, with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Perfection! Service is always friendly and attentive. Went again tonight, and had the Butter Chicken. OMG, perfection!

Cathy is the best server ever! We had a large party of 20 women, and she did such an incredible job making sure everyone was happy. The service we received was top shelf. The food was also just as impressive. I Recommend asking to sit in Cathy s section. We will be back next year! Thanks for a fantastic dining experience

Food was okay. What I definitely didnt like was the waitress who decided to straight up ask us whys there no tip after paying with debit. I had full intentions on leaving a cash tip but definitely not after her asking me that! Dont see myself going back there again!

Really great value at its price point in both quality and quantity. Truffle fries were plenty for three people as an appetizer and we all had the seafood linguini which was absolutely packed with fresh fish, mussels and (added) scallops. Nice patio and attentive staff

We chose to eat seafood and were not let down! We had muscles to start which were amazing and these photos are our mains. Seafood pasta and seafood Melody, was called something else though. Really yummy! Kids menu is great too!

My husband, daughter and I discovered Pepe s a couple of years ago after hiking up to the Summit Lodge and taking the Sea to Sky Gondola down. We look forward to the chef s daily creations! Crab cakes and mushroom ravioli with tenderloin beef in a Devine mushroom sauce with green peppercorns

Very nice atmosphere, great selection of drinks, the service was great, food in general was very decent, not the sidled chicken with corn tortillas, that dish needs actual soft fresh tortillas and flavour! Tiramisu was one of the best I ve ever had.

I was greeted by young lady, that was very cheerful and she sat me down. Give me a menu got me a beer. I ordered a steak came with french fries, a bowl of Caesar salad, $24.french fries were awesome which I ve never had before the way these people make them out of this world steak cooked to perfection. The service was just as good as the steak I will definitely come back one of the nicest experiences, it s too bad we didn t have more places like this place hats off to the people doing it right

Been in Squamish alone for too long I can t stop going to restaurants...ladies take yourself on dates the plating of this was kind of hilarious but I love the character. This is their blacked fish tacos - I don t like fish so who knows why I ordered this, I liked it so that s saying something! Had an absolute darling of a server. I m also a beer girl now (cause I realized it gets me drunker quicker). Loved the twinkle lights - spruces up any patio. PLUS a view of the mountains.....aesthetic check. It started raining on my walk home (yikes!) but that just made me start being angsty and I started listening to Alesia Cara. Anyways, if you re in Squamish the next two days let me know cause I m getting bored koko

I was here a couple years ago with my wife when we visited Squamish. To this day, we still talk about how they served us the best butter chicken weve ever had. Seriously. Just try it !

So the management at Pepes decided not to honour a credit for food that was made improperly . I had it delivered , so I was not able to recieve a replacement at the time . The manager said I had credit for it when I called to ask for a refund or credit . He decided that because I previously had done this twice before that he did not want to honour the credit . Pretty bad PR on his part . I would have sent it back if I had been there , so basically I will not eat there ever again or suggest anyone do so . Ised to be such a good place

Fish tacos to die for!

Food was okay, but was charged $7 additional without warning for the chicken added into burrito when it says $5 on menu. When my party brought it up with the waitress, we were just told that prices went up without notice and there was nothing they can do about this. Very unethical.

We were not served or looked at for 45 minutes. We originally dined outside, and had moved inside due to the heat. We were acknowledged that we had moved inside but, never received more service beyond the waters initially given to us. People arriving after had received apps, salads and drinks before we finally decided to speak up. When asking the staff why we had not been serviced they basically all pointed fingers at each other and did not know who was to be serving our table. We left. Where s the communication between staff? Keep in mind it was not busy (maybe 4 other tables), and we a table of 6. 4 adults, and 2 quiet children. We made eye contact with multiple servers and were never approached.

It was my birthday weekend, our server was amazing and the rest of the staff super friendly. We were served within few minutes and had the dessert to go, when we got home they gave us extra dessert and didnt even charges us. My husband called the restaurant to say thank you and didnt need to do this, they made my day as prior we went to another restaurant....had the worst experience there! We have eaten there before, always had the best experience

Food was unreal. Service staff was stellar. I got the pasta special which was chicken, prosciutto, fettuccini alfredo. It Was The Bomb. If you want stellar food and a good time, hit this place up while youre in town!

Six of us enjoyed a drive to Squamish and dinner at Pepes. The menu selection is excellent and the food was generous and everyone enjoyed their dinner. Our server was exceptional and we will be back again soon.

We were passing by this town and decided to stop at this restaurant for dinner. If I had to do it again, I would choose a different restaurant. Our waitress did not make any effort to make us feel welcome. She was extremely cold and did not smile once. We have never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant before. On the positive side, the hostess was extremely attentive and friendly. It is a nice restaurant. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious.

Pretty good restaurant. Ordered 2 steaks and pasta, and overall was good. I actually forgot to ask them to extract blue cheese on my steak, so i had hard time to get rid of the cheese.

I was just passing through the street and stopped. Was a great decision, the pastas are really good. (Took the seafood choice) Service is quick and attentive. Tried the dessert ... And I really recommend the tiramisu! Probably less known restaurant than in the center, but worth the stop.

For anyone who likes seafood, I would strongly recommend getting the mussels. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed them. Our waitress was very friendly and social. I was a bit disappointed in my raspberry mojito.

I had the Jumbo Prawns with the butternut squash ravioli. It was absolutely so tasty. The pasta sauce had a truffle oil in it and definitely some of the best truffle oil infused pasta Ive had. It complimented the butternut squash ravioli so well. The prawns though werent too big more like regular prawns. Price was generally fair for what I had as well.

Fantastic food and service. Im upset that I didnt eat here both nights that I was in Squamish. Ill be visiting Pepes again....no doubt about it. I totally recommend it.

The Atmosphere was nice, the food was great, the service was spot-on. I recommend it for family dining or a meal with friends!

The food was pretty good, we arrived for an early dinner and didnt have a reservation, but they were able to seat us no problem because the dining room was very empty that early. The dining room was rather cold though, despite us sitting next to the fire place, and the lights were dimmed so low about 15 mins into our meal, to the point I almost couldnt see my food. The food was decent, but I must say that the servings were a little small and simple for the prices they were charging. They were out of the strip loin steak with blue cheese, which was too bad because it was clearly the best thing on the menu. All in all, if you have money to burn, its a nice splurge, but its not going to be top notch.
