Being your own wine or beer, my husband and o don't drink so we brought sparkling cider and they let us drink it at.our table. Nice friendly server, fancy feeling ambience for good price and very good food! Recommend spanikoptia!!
It was a celebration for one of my sisters. We were 6 ladies. We brought the birthday cake and lots of different wines!! The food was great.our server was Cindy and she was super!Friendly and very attentive!! We will definitely return and pass around the good word! Thank you very much staff in the kitchen and everyone in the restaurant!!
I was disappointed. I was expecting an authentic Greek place. Sadly this is not the case. It felt more like food court greek food than anything else. I had the chicken and shrimp and was not impressed. The Greek Salad had giant chunks of tomatoe, pepper and was on a bed of iceberg lettus. Waiter was slow to refill water. Just disappointing.
A regular spot that my mom and I come for our date nights - and we love it ! We are creatures of habit and always seem to get the same thing; tzatziki as the appetizer and the chicken brochette as our mains. The chicken is always cooked so perfectly! The restaurant itself is always so busy but that’s not surprising as the food is excellent. It’s also bring your own wine (no corking fee) and if you forget to bring a bottle, the SAQ is right next door !
So busy Every day of the week, you should wait on the line, but the reason is, because this restaurant has a good service and nice food. You can also bring your wine. Good place to have birthday gathering. A bit noisy. Best time its at 8:00 pm. The kitchen closed 8:15 as server said. They dont get new orders after 8:15pm.
This is my favourite birthday restaurant since I was 12 years old (almost 15 years)! The food is honestly amazing, and the plates are loaded with food. I ALWAYS order the chicken grill (poulet grilloir), and I always have leftovers. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Love love love This place! I’ve been coming to this restaurant over the years and they had renovated a few years back. Today the resto is open, inviting, modern and chic I’ve always enjoyed Greek food. I have been coming to this establishment for years While the original on Vieux Duluth street was in full swing!!! Over the years, they modernized and adapted and thrived. Now a newly revised version in Gatineau. We were a group of ladies….. brought our own wines to start the chit chat and greetings!! Service was friends and bilingual. The restaurant was fully booked at 5:30 pm with long line up waiting on stand by. Fortunately we had a reservation set in advance to avoid wait. Table d’hôte ( set menu) at + $10 deal is great!!! You get a soup / coffee / dessert for just $10 more to the main plat!!! Awesome deal!!!! Not to mention bring your own booze so it really stretches the evening with minimum $$. To note: while the venue is modern and chic, the noise level is quite high with a lot of echoes….. gets worse when the restaurant is full. So definitely NOT for those looking for a private romantic evening. Tip: ask for BOOTH seats if you want some intimacy or more comfortable seating. They can accommodate that as long as there is availability.
Service was excellent, decor is nice, kitchen was clean, but the food not very good. Tried both the pork and chicken brochette work shrimp plates and they were both not very good. Portions are generous, but they were both dry and lacked flavour. The salad had huge pieces of lettuce. Rice and potatoes were very good. It was nice that they offered free ice cream for kids, and it tasted pretty good. Maybe because we were a big group (+20) the kitchen might've rushed to bring out the plates, but if the restaurant is made to handle big numbers that shouldn't be an excuse.
Very satisfied good service 5* to the chef
We recently went to Vieux Duluth in Gatineau to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday, November 8, 2024. It was supposed to be a surprise party. We had a reservation for over three weeks for a group of 25 people, for 7:30 p.m. We arrived a little early, 7:15 p.m., to settle in before the arrival of my sister who was coming down with her daughter and her husband from Barrhaven for the occasion. Finally, at 8:00 p.m., we were the 25 people waiting in the entrance portico, blocking traffic for everyone, with balloons and gifts in our hands...obviously the surprise was ruined since my sister arrived and we were still standing in the entryway waiting to be seated. We were seated at our table at 8:30 p.m. In short, I strongly suggest that you opt for Vieux Duluth in Hull if you want to book for a group. The organization, management and logistics really leave something to be desired and thats what deserves a star. Service, atmosphere and food were good, but I found the situation very deplorable.
The starter of the shrimp au gratin dish was frozen (in the truest sense, as if the dish had come out of the freezer) and the shrimp in my main course were cold as if they had just come out of the fridge. Will never go there again!
Excellent value for money, the portions are very generous
Very nice to eat at Old Duluth
My shrimp were too soft.
Delicious, great ambiance and service.
Always good, but very very noisy every time we go. They should close glass walls to break up the sound.
Good service very good price
My best restaurant
This is my favorite restaurant
Busy place but great food and you can bring your own wine
1 hour wait to serve the children last and eat frozen fries or a guaranteed back wash salad... very bathroom toilet... worst restaurant stomach ache guaranteed
Average overall, nothing bad but for the prices restaurants are asking nowadays I expect more quality finer attention to details.
I will go again
The best Greek-style food in Gatineau, to have a great time with family and friends, bring your wine and you will have a great time.
July 31, 2024, we took 2 starters of snail with garlic gratin and shrimp gratin, both tasted like water and cold cheese, what can we say about the 2 filet mignon, the cooking was perfect, a real boot sole, low quality meat, for a meal at $130 for 2, I strongly advise against this restaurant,
Nice place to spend your 40th wedding anniversary diner. The wife still loves me for it. Oooo
I really liked the food here, everything was well prepared
Restaurant with good food where you can bring your own wine
I will simply say that I was very disappointed with the lack of accomodation from this establishment. I am allergic to chicken, now I know its not a common allergy but nonetheless, I was expecting better. I ordered the fish filet and made sure to ask if the rice had any chicken stock. Turns out it did. I was told the rice would be taken off and I would be given more potatoes. Well, the plate arrived. I had my fish, the usual 3 potatoes and a mountain of lettuce. I could not call this a salad since it was mostly lettuce. I wouldnt normally mind more salad but apparently the dressing was also chicken based and so instead I was given olive oil to go with my lettuce. I feel like nothing was really done to accomodate me and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone with allergies. Maybe it just so happened to be like that with me but thats my first experience at Vieux Duluth and I probably wont be back.
A great big thank you and shout out to Cindy for her attentive service, smile and just plain nice. Food was on point. My sister loved hef birthday ..thanks!!!
They made us wait over an hour to be served and it wasnt even that busy.
At dinner time...with several starters and the lunch dish. Good service and a pleasant atmosphere. I will return.
The atmosphere is good, its up to date. The service is always excellent. However the prices have increased considerably and the food was ok. The salad was very soft and it didnt taste like the house vinaigrette. The red wine sauce on the filet mignon tasted very salty (by the way I love salt but this one was too much) otherwise the cooking of the filet mignon was perfect. The snails with garlic gratin and Tazikis starter was perfect too. Nice big plate filled.
Dinner for Father s Day! Always fun to go there with the family.
Ordinary dishes this evening in a beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant was full. The chicken skewer is good, the chicken well cooked. The salad was limp, the dressing covered half the plate. The service was slow, we were not offered a second glass of water, however the waitress was nice. The restaurant manager kindly offered us, free of charge, the plate with plenty of vinaigrette in which the chicken skewer was bathed.
excellent, exceptional service
Well done
Excellent food, reasonably priced, fantastic service. Always a great place. Best Filet Mignon. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating.
Very good service from our server
Really disappointing, my oregano chicken was way overcooked...Ive never had such dry chicken! And we had moldy bread The service is very long. So loud we cant even hear each other. Hes losing more and more!
Preferred this restaurant for Greek food as more tastier and appealing than Philos Greek restaurant that I also tried for dinner the night before. Will definitely go here next time Im in Cornwall, ON.
Horrible, Horrible low quality restaurant. Everything tastes like garlic butter, Everything is way too salty, the filet mignon is NOT filet mignon, frozen, cheap, disgusting food. Pay 20$ and go to a restaurant where food is prepared with love by a chef, not a cook. Gordon Ramsey would throw a hissy fit if he tried that place.
Very clean
Too close to the door, it was cold and on top of that people were waiting to be seated, standing near our table.
Delicious
Beautiful place and nice plate, quality price Parking: Well located Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: No problem
Too bad there are people who dont know how to behave in certain places
Always a pleasure to have a dinner with friends or family at Vieux Duluth! You have to like that there is a lot of atmosphere, because it s a noisy and festive restaurant!
Atmosphere is way too loud
Super place !
Unfortunately the production of serving quickly and moving on to the next customer is more important than their cleaning: there were 8 of us and we all caught a virus... yes the food is good and generous but it There is great negligence in cleaning e.g. fingerprints on the tables hidden by their paper placemats, unused dishes still remain on the table the traces of these are hidden by the wear of the glass because of their old dishwasher and what can we say about their old carpet, never vaccumed which could have germs anyway I prefer to go Pay more in a place with less rush than to grab these batteries
This restaurant is my favorite restaurant
Very noisy because the place if full. You can bring your own wine and the food is good and won t brake the bank.
Food was much better before they moved its just never been the same
Very good their filet mignon I love it beautifully cooked with a beautiful presentation apart from that and great service
Excellent place!
Potatoes were not as spiced as in previous years. portions smaller as well
Best service Ive ever received, and the food was truly excellent! Yoan, our server was really attentive and professional. He was always available for us, despite the busyness of an evening like New Years Eve. Never seen before!
Super good service
Quick service, can get a bit loud but very nice server. Food portions are huge. Bring your wine.
We were a group of 30 people celebrating a birthday...with a small waiting time on arrival but afterwards, excellent service. We were treated and served impeccably! Thanks to our servers, the impeccable food and the courteous and attentive staff. Beautiful evening!!
There were so many people that we couldnt hear each other speak. Groups were coming in waiting for their tables and I practically had their elbows in my face.
Something that is very important to me when it comes to a good restaurant is consistency. The first time my family and I dined here the food was great but the second time the potatoes were dry and seemed old. We only notified our waiter at the end to which he informed us that we should ve told him sooner so that he could ve gave us new potatoes. However, after already waiting for the meal we were hungry and did not want to wait again. Despite this, the service is very good.
Really very disappointed, I am aware that it is February 14 and that they will be very busy but we ordered and received our order before their big rush, i.e. 5:15 p.m., especially because of the traffic later, they were surely prepared to advanced but it wasnt edible. Burnt and the potatoes so stiff :(
David was really cool it was excellent Kid-friendliness: There s a smile on my kids
I love this place. Good food, super polite and kind employees. Own! But allow time for a table. Wait, its sure! But its worth it!
Perfect for an affordable family dinner Vegetarian options: Never tried
Very nice atmosphere, but a little too noisy, despite a wait of almost 45 minutes everything was excellent!
Worst calamari ever eaten...overcooked!!! I even asked if they had changed the recipe!!! For the rest, eat well.
Excellent meal good service but very noisy really not a place for a tête-à-tête
A wide menu with generous portions. Bring your own wine. Meals, include house salad, rice and roasted potatoes. Main dishes start at $16.95.
We really enjoyed our evening! The service was fast/excellent, the food was delicious, the desserts wonderful and the ambiance unbeatable We feel welcome there It was expensive but as long as you create beautiful moments its worth it :) -my only negative point would be the rice but Im just not a fan of it naturally
We had a great dinner but the bills were not right
Three good!!
Average eating, too many people for the available space!! Everywhere else there are promotions because it s lobster time!! In old Duluth which proclaims itself the best seafood restaurant! 1 NOTHING!!!! FOR WHAT !!
Food as good as ever, what can we say about our super nice server.
Very stiff filet mignon Salad soaked in vinaigrette The staff is friendly and good service, the quality of the food is poor, I do not recommend
yet our favorite restaurant.... but there potatoes overcooked, shrimps undercooked.... and the 2 star atmosphere but not the fault of the restaurant but of the one who thinks she is alone with her gang and who talks and laughs so much strong that you as a couple have difficulty understanding each other......
Pikilia superb, authentic and courteous service! To do again!
Good meal good service
Very good service, excellent food and warm atmosphere.
Excellent welcome, very professional service and the food is excellent
Very good
Had the beef steak. Was delicious and hot.
Cheap food, overpriced
Vieux Duluth, it is what it is... We had a craving and it didnt disappoint. Same quality, same good taste and good efficient service.
We were a group of 20+ people, there was a lack of space to move between the tables And lack of options for vegetarians Vegetarian options: Only one dish is offered
The food was great and the service was too. The only downside was that they charged me $5 for the side greek salad, but when they brought my plate I had no potatoes or rice. When I had asked about it, the server said that when you order a Greek salad with the Spanakopita, you don t get potatoes or rice. Not really fair seeing how my friend got it with his meal, even through he got a Caesar salad. Please tell customers that in the future. I paid more just to get less.
Its one of my favorite restaurants I have never been disappointed. Excellent/hot food Nice portion. Nice welcome. Excellent restaurant for groups.
The meal was excellent like always!!
Excellent but the ground beef is very hard and overcooked we were never asked for cooking and we forgot to mention it
Great food, been enjoying for 10 + years. However the price has gotten very very expensive even with inflation I think the price is too high. However with all that said, the food is still good but please stop serving over ripe potatoes. For the price the potatoes should not be overripe.
I dont know what happened this time, because we had 2 bad experiences. 1) We were served moldy bread at the entrance!!! 2) this is the first time that the taste of shrimp gratin as a starter was really not good...
Its a Quebec staple, the food is good, the portions are (very) large.
Very good!
Its a restaurant that I like but very noisy which spoils the atmosphere a little.
Good food
The organization is bad. People wait for tables standing above others dining. This is not a pleasant environment to eat in.
Good food, good prices, very noisy because a lot of people
Very busy. Recommended to make reservations ahead of time. It is a loud restaurant but the food is usually good and the portions are great for the price. A family and friends favorite. You can bring your own wine and there is an SAQ conveniently next to the restaurant. Parking: Part of a larger smart center so plenty of parking at all times.
Good service, good meal but noisy. Difficult to have a conversation.
Quality meals
Very good service
Slow slow slow . Meal 7/10 service 7/10 received our meal 1 hour after ordering.
Excellent food, terrible service. We waited 40 minutes after getting our drinks to have our orders taken. Got another waiter to bring us bread 30 minutes in, when we noticed every new table had some.
If your desire is great food, impeccable service this is the place.we have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed, so if you liked it the first time, please expect the same each time.
Too bad to be told well, I cant do anything maam when they make a mistake in a take-out order (before I leave the restaurant).... Very ordinary service. I didnt know that its a restaurant where you pay for whats in your bag, whether its the right thing or not...
Always excellent
Excellent food , friendly and professional staff , fair price
Very good restaurant!
Very good service and very good food!
I love this well-received and well-served restaurant and the tasty meal.
Excellent!! Very good price and the bring your own wine concept reduces the bill for people like me... a big fan of sangria
Good meal. Serve slowly. Noisy.
We had dinner with me and my boyfriend, we were served 50 minutes after our arrival and my filet mignon was very well cooked even though I had asked for it blue. And I had to wait at least ten minutes to get another plate which didnt satisfy me but I was hungry so I ate as much as I could. We had bad service, the staff didnt impress me at all...We couldnt even talk to each other because there were so many noises etc. and finally the bill was very expensive and there were only two of us so I didnt will not go back.
Family dinner for the kids and nieces and nephews was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter was phenomenal and the food was generous, delicious, and well priced
Cant put 0. With friends out for dinner on the Savane Thursday 11/8, 15 minutes after leaving the restaurant.... food poisoning.... salmon not fresh
Everytime I come here Im not disappointed.
The skewer is exceptional. And Mathieu an excellent server :) thank you for your excellent service once again.
The food was delicious, the restaurant very clean and the service impeccable.
Parking: Parking is in front of restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is on street level.
Parking: Beaucoup de place
Great service and friendly staff. Surf and turf was excellent. Steak cooked perfectly... better than expected.
Thats correct. No more. Its the same menu for 20 years it seems.
Excellent service and very tasty food with good portions. Very nice and friendly atmosphere.
For now Im waiting for my gift card to compensate for a missing shish kebab dish in my takeaway order. Apparently Au Vieux Duluth does not reimburse missing dishes duly paid for by credit card. Hey well.... (26/10) Well, finally I received my gift card in the mail today, thank you Mederik...
I went the other day, I hadnt been in years. Yes, I think they have improved since the last time, but the breadcrumbs that put the shrimp there arent even breadcrumbs, its so mushy, it looks like a paste on top, thats awesome. Caline leave the shrimp as is with a little spices on top and let us dip them in the butter. I dont know what this scrap is about, putting their weird dough imitation bread crumbs on top, DISGUSTING. I might go back one day because my mother likes going there, but Ill definitely never be able to get their WEIRD shrimp.
Great place for a group. Bringing your wine is a nice touch. Big plates. A bit loud is my only not so positive point.
Very. Noisy but excellent
Very good
Very disappointed paying $60 for a poor quality meal, for me the Cook had a hard time where he slept. Order 2 plates of chicken skewers, one without vegetables in the skewer in addition to its pepper sauce with a chicken skewers that doesnt go very well together. In addition we order shrimp not edible shrimp with leg and scales for me the one who prepares them lacks experience. To top it all off I had a Caesar salad with my meal, well imagine, my Caesar salad sauce was given me a cup of garlic butter, very disappointing, Ill never eat it again unless we reimburse me for their mistake!
Great server service
Abundant parking due to the fact that it is located in a Plaza type complex. Compliance with current health standards. Very busy during my visit, the service was very good. The staff worked hard both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Very clean space, all the staff are attentive. I recommend.
Not even 1 star.....one.stardust is still too generous as a rating..Rotten service...endless waiting inedible food...cold plates, salad with core and rust....arrogant and arrogant owner disrespectful...never again!!
I find the variety on the menu a bit poor. The food was good. Great service. What I loved THE most is the bring your own WINE and BEER. For that, you definitely save a lot if you plan on drinking
