Overall disappointed with this first experience, very limited lunch menu, very frustrating quantity on the plates (fish of the day), inedible canolli dessert. Fortunately the service was correct and the setting pleasant, ultimately poor value for money.

A charming Italian restaurant where the dishes are tasty and carefully prepared.

Dinner in the private lounge. Slow service, expensive plate. This was my fourth and final visit to this restaurant.

Good ambiance for a date, good service at the tables, but deceiving plating. This is imitation cuisine. An assembly line for refrigerated and/or canned ingredients. The cool focaccia had the aromas of an overfilled refrigerator, the sauce was plain and even the parmesan was not adding the expected saltiness to the dish. It would be an insult to anyone able to recognize a freshly cooked meal from a rewarmed left over. Both me and my significant other spent a torturous 30 min in the bathroom , in pain and purging, within a few hours after consumption of their food. We will never go back there.

Perfectly tender, the veal marsala escalope was almost cut with a fork and the chicken parmigiana was just as succulent. Both outgoing and very friendly, Annie-Pier provided service beyond our expectations. Very satisfied with our meal.

What a disappointment for our entire group. Not only was the wait time to get our main meals too long, but from an individual point of view, my meal was more than average for the price, i.e. the stew (EX: the sausages were burnt ). In addition, our entire group who ordered the fruit cannolis unfortunately returned them because they were inedible (the filling had no taste and the crust left a very unpleasant taste in the mouth). Very disappointing and Im not ready to go back, especially considering the price. For one person in the group: the vegetables that accompanied the salmon were cold (not lukewarm, but literally cold). Another person from the group: the carbonaras were seriously lacking in seasoning and I confirm having tasted it. Finally, there were several desserts on the menu that were no longer available (tiramisu, gelato) and it was not possible to order an espresso coffee (due to a problem with the machine and the electricity of the place, which has been going on for a long time).

Wish I could give a zero or even a minus. Service was unbelievably slow. 2.5 hours before our mains were served. When it did 2/4 meals were cold. Having a steak served cold is a next level of evil. Worse part? Managers reaction was rude and abrasive. Told us that they had a large party that s why they were a bit slow. Offered to reheat our food I understand that mistakes happen but how you take ownership and do damage control is equally or even more important. I wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do better.

I am satisfied with my experience at La Squadra because the service was excellent and the dishes authentic. The menu may lack variety (pizzas with other types of pasta for example) but overall it was very good. The salmon was good, the bed of orzo a little simple and I would have preferred more vegetables on the plate options and as an accompaniment. Otherwise it was good and the focaccia was excellent.

My wife and I went for Valentines Day. The server was efficient and very knowledgeable about the wines. The atmosphere was superb, with Prosecco for everyone. The arancini starter was very good, although it lacked marinara sauce. The squid was rubbery. For the main course, the lobster tail duo was good, same thing for the spaghetti carbonara, although they were quite dry. Generally, I believe that the quality of the cuisine is not what it was a few years ago. We left disappointed, considering the price of the bill. Where I was outraged was that when you pay, the terminal does not offer you the choice of entering the tip amount (% or $). You absolutely must choose one of the pre-determined choices: 15%, 18%, 20% or 25%. It would have been necessary to carry out two separate operations. Ridiculous.

Had a reservation for valentine s day around 8pm. Waited 30 minutes before the waitress first came to see us. After having only water on our table for another 30 minutes, we decided to leave. I think our waitress was just overwhelmed with the service, which could ve been avoided if more servers were on the floor. Disappointed since we went there before and had a great time..

This is a very modern restaurant and located in a convenient location in the old Hull sector of Gatineau. Our server was pleasant. We were a party of 4. Unfortunately, 3 of our 4 meals were overcooked (baked too long). The lasagna was so crusty on top that you couldnt eat it. The chicken parm was dry and left too long in the oven as the cheese was crusty and burnt. Our appetizers were overcooked as well. The pasta side dishes were fresh, and their spaghetti sauce was excellent. It almost seemed like our dinner was reheated food from lunch or yesterdays dinner. Wheelchair accessibility: They are located at ground level, so it is very easy to access.

This is a wonderfully romantic spot. Service was TEN stars! Staff and the Director offered exceptional service in what was a hugely memorable evening for my wife and I, celebrating 10 years. Food was excellent - prices were competitive. We will be back often! Parking: Can be tricky or go behind a street and theres a large city paid lot.

We loved our first experience at La Squadra. Our waitress Kiana was friendly, courteous and efficient. The food is absolutely amazing. I will go back there often.

Went for birthday dinner on a Tuesday 7PM (January). Food was good. Lots of tables for seating. Ambiance was good, but would have been much nicer if the fireplace would have been in function. Service was just ok. Kitchen closed at 8PM so had to rush to put our order in. Was not made aware that dessert should have been ordered also in advance ... so no birthday desserts for us that night.

Found a nice gem in Hull! Loved everything, amazing service, delicious food and huge wine selection. Just found my favorite place to go with friends and date nights with my hubby!

The dishes were delicious, however the service left something to be desired. The restaurant was half empty, but the waitress didnt seem to come to check on us. The first time she came to serve us water and give us the menus was after at least 15 minutes. We then tell him that we are ready to order because we are hungry and we want to order the drinks and dishes as quickly as possible. She says shes going to get her tablet for the order and comes right back... We only see her again 20 minutes later, after weve asked her twice to order... The sevreuae seemed in a big hurry to get rid of the dishes: I was taking my last bite, fork in my mouth, when she removed my plate. There were also several things missing even though we were there on Saturday evening: no Prosecco for the cocktails, no amaretto, no lemon tart... Everything I asked for!

TERRIBLE experience! Firstly, we had called a few days before to reserve in advance for X people. Once we arrived there, they brought us to a table with 3 places less than reserved. I had to persist with the manager who mentioned that it was impossible that we could have reserved for this number of people. I even had to prove to him the day and time I called on my phone for the reservation because otherwise he wouldnt prepare the table we had reserved (how can you treat your customers as liars!) In addition, they made mistakes on several of our plates (rosé sauce replaced by tomato sauce, linguini by spaghetti, non-alcoholic glass with alcohol, etc.) In short, we should have left since the manager seemed more proud to accept their mistake than to block tables from us. NOT RECOMMENDED! Spend your money elsewhere!

The service was great and the atmosphere very cozy. However, they are charging way too high prices for the quality of food. I ordered a chicken Parmigiano and they gave me rotisserie chicken with melted cheese on top. For future reference, cut the raw chicken breast in half long ways, cook it in the oven with some spices. Add mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce a la fin. The service took a little long for cold calamaris and rotisserie chicken that was just warmed up. A lot of potential, just needs the right direction. I can only put a 3 star because I found a hair in my salad. It was blond like I am but wouldnt take a chance. The server swich my salad right away. She was so kind. The place is jazzy, very romantic and the desserts were to die for.

This was an excellent experience. The drinks were awesome. I had the Paper Plane and it was so good. I ordered the lasagna and it was out of this world. I m a lasagna guy and this is the best lasagna I ever had. To top it off, the service was very good and friendly. Will definitely go back soon. Parking: The only negative thing I have to say is about the lack of parking in the area but it was definitely worth the 1/2 kilometre walk. Lol!!

We quite possibly found the best Italian restaurant in Gatineau on Saturday evening. A wide choice of delicious and hearty dishes, a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service from Jaëlle. Fairly high prices, the worst is the wine list, but rich and varied flavors that will make you salivate with every bite. We dont celebrate birthdays, its a shame. Buon appetito!

Had a disappointing experience here with a group of about 15 people. The kitchen I believe was extremely understaffed. I felt the servers were doing their absolute best to manage things, our orders were not taken promptly and our main came over two hours after we sat down, having had only an appetizer beforehand. Reservations made well in advance, so management should have scheduled accordingly. The staff were very friendly and warm, gave good wine advice. the issues definitely lies elsewhere, likely management. The food was hit and miss, but on better day I think it would be quite good.

This is the worst Italian restaurant in the area. My veal picata was boiled, my pasta was cold. The scallops, as a starter, were decent but three scallops for $22 when its quite ordinary, no thanks. Apart from that, usually when you enter an Italian restaurant you can smell all kinds of smells that make you hungry. Not there. It doesnt smell like anything. So, in conclusion, abstain.

Hello, I went to your restaurant for dinner (lunch) the lunch menu was not at all up to par with your restaurant, in addition it was impossible to have your à la carte menu, the waitress offered us mediocre service , she was more interested in setting up the tables, she even moved a small dividing wall next to us without wondering if it could be disturbing, in addition for the wine she did not want to tell us that she was your wine house when we asked her, she answered, it is good. I liked this restaurant but I wont go back. An unpleasant experience.

Rather disappointing experience. At $30 for a pasta dish, you expect at least an offering of bread/butter and parmesan. Pepper maybe? Nothing! The waitress didnt even ask us if it was good... Dont try to make substitutions either (eg: penne instead of linguini), it will be refused. If you go with a child, forget the half plates, they cost the same price as a full plate. The English expression overrated takes on its full meaning here. There are a ton of Italian restaurants with better quality/price/service/atmosphere in the area to come back here.

Weve eaten here a few times over the past years, but the foods not as good now. The service is good, nice staff. My linguini pasta dish had very little pasta and just a few shrimps covered in too much sauce. I asked why it was so small compared to before, and they said they didn t size portions before but they do now to avoid waste. But they didnt lower the price, of course and I was left disappointed. The lemon pie tasted off to me, like the crust ingredients was not fresh with an overpowered lemon peel flavour making it bitter. Maybe they had an off day? Still, I wont be coming back anytime soon. Very limited menu during lunch to add to it some options on the limited menu werent available. But the food still available was yummi.

A necessary stop for foodies. Superb cellar, if you know a little about wine you will find a gem. Then the service is courteous, warm and impeccable. Perfect execution also on the food, and whats more the portions are generous. We come from afar and are only passing through, but we keep this address in our list of restaurants to revisit.

I have been going to this restaurants for years now and Im not sure why but the last 2 times I have been extremely disapointed. Our service last thrusday was not up to part. They seemed to be short staff and the waitress in all honesty lacked finess. My guess had veal dish which she had to return as it wasnt warm and I had pasta and mine as well was not warm and dry; thinking that it had been sitting on the burner for the past little while. So I will unfortunately not be returning

No idea if there was a change of chef in the kitchen but our experience last Saturday had nothing to do with the previous one. Mushroom pasta that only tastes like truffle oil; the bread is extra. My Scallop starter was delicious. A young waiter who was very respectful and polite but made sporadic visits. At $700 for five, we expected more.

This restaurant is a neighborhood restaurant where the cuisine deserves a Michelin star. Supreme of guinea fowl half cockerel in juice. The fishermans plate with white sauce etc. Next to rue de Carouge we have our Old Chateau Robert the unemployed neighbor

Good morning, We always appreciate the service at the Squandra. The waitresses are pleasant and offer exceptional service. Our daughter loves olives, and the waitresses make sure to spoil her. The pot au feu is exceptional! Lots of other delicacies.

Overall good experience at the restaurant. The Buratta plate: very blend, nit enough salt and balsamic glaze. Presentation was great The Caille: the truffle risotto was good but not wow. The caille was amazing. The best part of the dinner. Well cooked and the stuffing was very tasty. Unfortunately due to the shortage of staff or maybe due to lack of customer, i don t know, they were missing a bunch of things on the menu. The ambiance was really nice. The servers were professional and really nice. Will probably not come back due to the blend taste of some food. But if you re into wine, they have a huge selection.

Correct... No more! This evening was my 2nd visit to this restaurant, the service from the waitress was very ordinary.. The waitress seemed very rushed and impatient for us to order, when we had just arrived. We chatted a little before ordering, drank our drinks while relaxing a little after a long day, but we felt a lot of pressure from him (it was 5:15 a.m. when we arrived). This one brought us bread, without butter or olive/balsamic oil, we asked for some, but we had to remind her 3 times to bring us some. She seemed to have forgotten everything, 2nd glass of beer, salt and pepper, etc. It was annoying always having to ask. As for food, I took the salmon that many people sold to me, this one was overcooked, very dry, spinach and orzo really lacked seasoning. My partner received his order of pot au four, bland, lacked seasoning and most of the clams received in the shell were mostly empty. My mother was not able to eat all of her plate of pasta, because a lot too salty! Ahh and also, I ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail, this one cost as much as one with alcohol.. In short, the food and customer experience was not at all up to the price paid!! I really dont think Ill return or recommend...

We had booked for a group and unfortunately we did not have access to the full menu, which was never mentioned to us over the phone when booking. The service from the waitress was impeccable, however the service from the manager is a completely different story. The waitress did what she could to help us but came. So unfortunately the restaurant lost a group that evening because we went elsewhere. I understand that this may be a restaurant policy but advise on the phone when making a reservation because we would not have booked. We had access to not much on the menu, around 3 to 5 starters and 4-5 main courses.

I am giving this restaurant 2 stars based on the appalling service I received today. The place has only one small menu for the month of December which was news to me as they have a posted menu online but thats not what they offer and no options with the exception of the soup is vegetarian. I ordered the eggplant soup which was tasty and when I asked for the bill the server told me that she would charge for the whole menu which included mains which I did not order. when I corrected her she gave me attitude for not letting her know that I was staying just for the soup (again they didnt have any vegetarian mains). The service soured my entire lunch and I will not be returning.

December 2022 The Scaloppina Al Marsala dish arrived grayish in color, the broccoli yellow and the pasta tasteless and not even parmesan. The calamari was bland! A total disappointment!!!!

Friendly place and very pleasant and friendly service. Only small problem for us...the cook must have been in love or the oven was set incorrectly but my pollo alla parmigiana was completely burnt underneath and therefore had 1 burnt taste, the lasagna also had 1 burnt piece and the pine nuts in the torta della nonna also had 1 burnt flavor

The place was bad, the lighting was dark took 10 minutes to be greater at table then excuse after excuse about the beer missing and what was left on menu. Management did not even come to make excuses they just.took menu away.and said good night. Another place that just wants.your.mpney and dont care about service

First of all the service was beyond amazing!!! The atmosphere, food was fantastic! Best Italian food I have eaten in ages. ALL the dishes were so well seasoned and I love a good carbonara and this is the BEST I ever had. Our server was Audrey and she was so attentive and fun that she made the experience so memorable. We will definitely be returning for the food but especially the service!!!!

Impeccable service! Manager/sommelier so interesting and welcoming. And the food was perfect. I recommend without hesitation to lovers of good wine and good food!

I was in this restaurant one evening in February Not too many people I asked for more light because it was so dark I couldnt see the menu!! I have spaghetti Carbonara I almost choked when the plate arrived and asked the waiter if it was a childrens portion!!? There was so little on the plate I dont understand given the price ($26) its already expensive for spaghetti but with the quantity its 3 times more expensive!!! I took the photo I am sure I will never return to this restaurant given the price of the dishes and the EXCESSIVE smallness of the dishes!!

A real Italian cuisine restaurant. I had given up on Italian restaurants in the Ottawa region. Huge portions of American-Italian food is all you get in Little Italy. We came across Squadra by chance and found a real veal piccata in lemon sauce, excellent soup. A real find.

Very delicious food in a classy ambience ! Lots of options for food, wine and drinks. Maitre dhôtel Francis and the staff were truly friendly and professional. Love this restaurant and will go back again for sure !

I think we waited too long before coming to this restaurant for dinner. The service was good but slow. In addition, the waiting time for meals was long. The waitress got my meal wrong. I didnt say anything because she was polite. However, my vegetables had no taste and my veal had a slimy texture. Thats not counting my friends spaghetti that was <<undercooked>>. Disappointing for an Italian restaurant. A 2 for the nice waitress all the same.

La Squadra is my restaurant! Excellent food, more than generous portions, impeccable and courteous service and what can we say about the decor! I love it and highly recommend it whether for a one-on-one dinner or a group dinner. (Private room), La Squadra, A MUST PS: It is not the fact that we are confined that we must deprive ourselves of eating well. Takeaway meals!
