We always eat very well, for a change I had a Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken was overcooked so hard and dry. Not very good. And the screamers dont change.

This is the first and last time we come to your restaurant. I order an Italian poutine as a starter and 5 minutes later it is on the table. It was cold and the cheese wasnt even melted. The waitress leaves with the dish and returns a minute later after hearing microwave doors slammed. Still cold. Its a shame $15 for a cold and reheated poutine. The pasta was tasteless and way too expensive for the small portion we received. The shrimp in the pasta was soggy and without seasoning. In addition, the service left something to be desired. The boss boy helped us more than the waitress herself. I would have put a big 0% for the waitress and 20% for the boss boy. Paccini prices without the quality that comes with it. I will not recommend your restaurant.

Beautiful modern atmosphere, fast and cheap service!!

Very disappointed. Already, its way too noisy. The bring your own wine helps with the noise. The dishes were not good. The lasagna was way overcooked, the sauce lacked everything. The mussels were all broken and often empty, the white wine sauce was mostly a water and onion sauce. The fries boiled in water and then dipped in cold oil. The salad was just greens. Everything was cold. Also, the price is way too high. If youre looking for a place to drink with family or friends, this might be good. But if youre looking for a place to eat Italian, or mussels, this is clearly not the place...

My meal for me and my partner chicken pasta, the pasta just tasted like tomato juice, not strong for a pasta specialty. Chicken as if you had taken a frozen iga breast and put cheese on it, the chicken turned hard and rolled in your mouth. The squid that I had as a starter was not the best I have eaten for the price of $25. I do not recommend it as a restaurant. I will never go back there

Im not one to write negatively about restaurants, mainly because I worked in the restaurant business for 10 years, but the Ottavio restaurant: NEVER!!!! wait 2 hours for our food, to receive sauce in a can in an Italian restaurant? Wait 20 minutes for a lemonade in a BYOB restaurant? Having the manager give us attitude when we ask for compensation for the wait and even refuse it? As I said: NEVER!!!!

The staff shortage affects all businesses, that said, it remains abnormal to book for a group at 5:30 p.m. only to not be served more than 2 hours later. I think this restaurant would benefit from reducing its capacity if they are not able to offer service in an acceptable time frame. Too bad because the poor waitresses do as much as they can and end up with dissatisfied customers. We will unfortunately never return to this place.

The lasagna and fries were excellent!! I loved this Italian restaurant, plus bring your own wine is perfect! I would definitely go back there the next time we visit Gatineau. I highly recommend! And I would add that our server Samuel was an extremely kind and attentive server. A big 5 stars for the food and the service!

Not impressed. The service was nonchalant and the meals were mediocre at best. I ordered the lamb shank by recommendation but was disappointed because the meat was obviously reheated from cold because the edges were tough and the bone itself was cold. Very cold. We had 10 people for reserved seating and mostly the group was disappointed with the experience.

We were a good group and unfortunately the majority did not enjoy their dishes: the hot brie served as a starter lacked flavor, the tomato sauce for the lasagna needed to be enhanced, it lacked taste. The tuna tartare is cut way too big, a piece could be cut 4 times smaller! You can choose your pasta and sauce ($20) and with an extra $5.50, you add slices of marinated chicken, cooked on the grill, which was good. The waitress was nice and we were served well. The prices are way too expensive. An incentive is that we can bring our own wine. There were barely around 30 customers on an evening that would normally accommodate 100-200+ customers. This restaurant is very well located, very large, clean, all that is missing is good, tasty dishes and a bit of atmosphere and music. The pizza looked good. The birthday girl received a bowl of chocolate pudding :( However for lunches, converted into the Méli restaurant, this place offers very good lunches, hot, generous portions, good service. Very pleasant. Parking: Large free parking lot.

Disappointing; no one at the hosting stand when we arrived, and we waited a few minutes before anyone bothered to come. There was a bucket at the entrance collecting water leaking from the ceiling. Appetizers didnt have great taste (fried zucchinis and arancinis). Very good, fast and pleasant service from Carole-Anne and another gentleman. My boyfriends lasagna was very good except lukewarm. For a restaurant of this class and at these prices, we expect more. My Da Vince penne: very good sauce but lack of goat cheese and cherry tomatoes and too much arugula. Thats good but look at the details. Wheelchair accessibility: Ok to move around with my walker.

Honestly, its fast food. Prices are more based on atmosphere and decoration in my opinion. For the price you can eat much better elsewhere.

On the wedsite it says kids eat free on Sunday. So my daughter took her 3 kids there. She lives alone with 5 kids. My husband and I went too. So o e child was our bill and she had a child on her bill. They should have told us the kids are not free anymore. The food was very good. You should put your wedsite up to date and say kids dont eat for free. Dietary restrictions: Gulten free

Great lunch and good price! Ive been there several times and have never been disappointed. On the other hand, the only reason I dont give 5 stars is because of the waiting time for your plate which is always too long unfortunately. (Between 45 minutes and 1 hour)

My boyfriend and I went for the first time, its going to be the last. The waitress Caroline was rude, we had to ask several people to be served. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food, I dont understand there were almost no people in the restaurant.

There were 7 of us for lunch, yes the service was impeccable. On the other hand, what disgusted me was seeing the young man setting the table and it was when I saw him every time he prepared a table for new customers, he was so keen the fork by the tines and the knife by the end that is used to cut. Really NOT hygienist, very bad reputation and I will call tomorrow to make sure he knows.

1 hour to take the order. 1h15 to be served. Its a nameless mess. We wont go back there again. To the owner: you should hire more people or refuse to fill your restaurant if you are not able to serve your customers. It will do good for your staff and your customers!

We really had a blast. We were a hockey team with parents. Everything went well. Impeccable service and courteous staff.

Meh. Food was not as great as I think it could be for an Italian restaurant... Personally my mussels were not the freshest. Sauce was bland/okay. We were a group of 15 people: 3 of which who had a pasta dish said it was just okay (bolognaise, chorizo and seafood versions). Someone had the risotto balls, which were apparently disgusting, being cold in the middle? Tasted bland... Salads were a bit limp and a greek salad had mushy cucumbers, lol To add, I will mention that when it came time to order, it was mentioned that there was no chicken parmigian! 2 people had taken the time to choose this item from the menu. It could have been mentioned beforehand, when we sat down... 20 MINUTES LATER, we see chicken parmigian being served to MANY OTHER TABLES! Very insulting. Communiation is important among staff and with patrons. Not one member of our group will return here.

Nice atmosphere for a Sunday night

I cant say for the room service or the atmosphere, since it was a delivery order. So Im just rating the dishes. Its very ordinary, and Im polite. Lets be honest. $103 for 2 dishes of fusilli, 1 linguine and 1 tortellini, all accompanied by 4 rolls wrapped in napkins, you at least expect to say Wow! while tasting our dishes. However, this was not the case. At best, it was okay for 2 of the dishes and downright bland for the other 2. If thats what they were hoping to encourage me to eat in, its a complete failure. Damage.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are all-you-can-eat mussel days and they are the best I have eaten in the region, they are definitely worth the detour they have a lot of choice and their fries are excellent and you have the chance to bring your own wine or your beer

We have been going to Ottavios for lunch every Saturday at 9:00 for 3-4 years. I always arrive around 8:45 because there are crowds at 9:00... this morning the manager or owner told me that 80% of the people had to arrive to be able to sit down... she didnt want the tables waitresses are slowed down in short, a somewhat unpleasant tone and laws for a family lunch! Too bad because the waitresses are always very pleasant and the food is always excellent! But we will have breakfast elsewhere for a while.

I took the angel hair gardener dish. The vegetables were very soft except for the broccoli, soggy spinach and full of water mixed with oil in the bottom. I was disappointed .again. In addition, the toilet had a terrible smell and was very dirty. It took away my appetite. My mind is made up, I wont go back there again. Too bad because one of my children is celiac. Ill have to find another restaurant.

Me and my partner tried this restaurant and we were extremely disappointed, I took the pizza and Ill be very honest it was in the style of a Mccain or Délicio pizza and my partner took the penné with shrimp and what can I say about the shrimp, they were nothing more or less than tiny shrimp, frankly and the nerve of claiming to be an Italian restaurant has to be done, in short, first time and the last, its 100% sure and certain.

There should be doors that open alone so that people in wheelchairs are able to come more often and that it is less complicated for everyone. It should also be fair for each employee because I noticed that there are employees who work more than others

Second time here for dinner. Will be my last. Not worth paying $115 after tax and tips for 1 entrée, 2 adult plates and 1 child for VERY bland food, no alcohol, no desert, no drinks.

It was great service and food. I have a question why when I receive my invoice you have already rounded it as if I was paying in cash. For example it was at $71.30 per line just before it was written rounded to $0.02. I should have paid $71.28 plus tip. Because my invoice was without taxes 30+30+2=62 plus taxes $71.28. This place was great!! Our server, pretty sure his name was Vince, was awesome!! This was a unique dinning experience as we were not aware of the BYOB options in Quebec; our server told us all about it & we ran to the convenient store across the road to get beverages to enjoy with the amazing pizzas. Pizzas were a good size, we split 2 of them between 3 people & were plenty full. Really glad we found this place & gave it a try!!

Cross contamination! We went to Ottavios to celebrate two birthdays in our families. The no. 1 reason for going there is that it is mentioned on there website: Ottavio can accommodate you with many allergies and intolerances. Experience why Ottavio is the premier choice by the celiacs and people suffering from food allergies. Our reputation is irrefutable. The restaurant was 3/4 full. They were also serving many group tables. In our group we had one person with severe peanut allergies, and also severe intolerance to egg products (my son). The waitress was advised of this. They say they do have an EpiPen at there restaurant and we always have one with us. The waiter was notified of his allergies. His choice on the menu were, Arancini Balls as an entree, and those are served with some kind of tomato sauce. Then his main meal was sea food linguine. There was cross contamination that occurred with egg product . As soon as my son had one Arancini ball. The symptoms started and usually those symptoms are cramps, nausea and vomiting. My husband had to leave and take my son home.I stayed on with the group at the restaurant. My son was sick on the way home which is a 20 minutes drive and I arrived home about one hour later he was being sick again. The restaurant told me that they could not verify the ingredients in the Arancini Balls as they were not made there. They could not really say what could have caused this but that they are cooked in a deep fryer which also deep fries other items that do have egg in them. The restaurant knowing of my sons allergies should have advised us of this before this happened. An anaphylactic reaction COULD have occured! I did pay for his complete meal and we were not offered any kind of compensation (not that I expected it) (Would have been polite to have the manager come and explain the situation). Many many restaurants are very sensitive and careful with people who have allergies. I was very surprised by the reactions of the restaurant, as they had every excuse possible that it was not there fault. Service was slow but tolerable, food not bad but more on the expensive side as it is a restaurant where you can bring your own wine. We definately will never go back to Ottavios again and never recommend it to anyone with allergies. Dietary restrictions: Egg and peanut allergies.

The service was excellent. The food was fresh and hot. ***You should show your cooks how to make egg rolls. Turning means that both sides of the egg have touched the baking tray.

Nov 2023 We were a group of 6 people, during the week. My daughter asked for a gluten-free pizza dough but with the contents of a regular pizza on top because it was not sold in the gluten-free category. Gluten-free are $6.00 more than regular pizzas. Well we charged a little extra of $6.00 more for the requested modification. So $35.5 for an individual pizza, before tax. I found that my pizza really didnt taste much. My daughter told me the same thing about hers. My nephew found that his pasta tasted absolutely nothing. In short..., the next family outing will be elsewhere. I prefer a better meal than a BYOB. Good service because a young person compensated 2 times for our server. but the toilets smelled like bad piss (excuse the word but it was that...) 4 years ago, 5* I organized a surprise party with a big group. Very easy to book, I called 3 times and always a good listener. We could bring our own cake with a $2 per person service charge. I didnt check if everyone had taken it, but I wasnt charged for everyone. The waiter was VERY friendly, the menu varied. I was surprised. I had been there the year before and that was not my impression. I ate a gluten-free pizza which was excellent. I often book for groups and always go to the same place, Im going to start alternating with Ottavio.

Excellent food quality and service. After eating at Ottavios in Montréal I had high expectations and I was pleased to see this location maintains an identical standard. We came for my mothers 60th birthday. She is a food service specialist and notoriously picky. However, while she ate only appetizers, she loved the food, had no complaints, and said she a really great time! I ordered the Linguine Duck Confit again and was pleased when it was exactly as I remembered it. Dietary restrictions: Although I cant speak for the kitchen, Ottavios sets a high bar for gluten-free service. My partner has celiac disease, so their efforts are extremely appreciated. Not only do they have a substantial gluten-free menu including pizza, pasta, and deserts, but folks who indicate a gluten allergy are served on red dishes so staff know that special precautions are required. This level of care is exceptional and sets Ottavios apart. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant includes a kid friendly menu including gluten-free options and high chairs are available for little ones.
