Mon Café Bistro in Gatineau

The atmosphere was very calm for my romantic dinner. The food was excellent, I recommend the cochinita tacos. Customer service was perfect. Thank you very much for this experience!

The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. Sara-Jeanne and Chloé are employees who provide incredible service. We had cochinitac quesadillas and I can assure you of the grandiose quality of the meal. We will come back, for sure!

Nice atmosphere. The food is very good. The service was very slow and infrequent despite the few people in the restaurant.

Unpleasant and cumbersome owner. Unfortunately it constantly spoils the good music and the atmosphere of the place. Once you are served she counts the minutes for you to leave, its a real shame.

Incredible tres leches and amazing home made cochinita pibil

I went there last summer with my partner and we were served in English without even being offered a menu. I discreetly and politely asked the manager if we could be served in French and she began to say out loud that she could serve us in French and even in Spanish if I wanted in an accusatory tone, for all other guests hear. It was clear that we were 2 French speakers without having to taunt each other like that. The situation was stressful thereafter until our departure. We could have reached common ground if the lady had been more courteous.

Good little Mexican restaurant well located (across from the Ottawa River). The food is delicious and the prices are good.

Its a favorite <cafe> with a beautiful terrace facing the Ottawa and Gatineau rivers. Always in demand. Wheelchair accessibility: Ample parking at the rear.

I was walking on the street and my pregnant wife really needed to go to the bathroom, the owner of the business was mad at us for asking to go to the bathroom. She accused us of thinking we were special. Refused us the access to the bathroom without even asking if we had the intention of buying something. She assumed that we did not want to buy anything. Emotionally unstable and rude owner.

Very overpriced for a bottle of coors light they charged $8.50 and i felt they took advantage as they had no menu or pricing for beer will not return very poor....food was Just ok but rice and plain salad with no dressing you cant miss. We ordered a cervice for $15 and this was the size of a oversized egg cup?

I rarely write restaurant reviews but Mon Cafe deserves it. Is the Best Mexican restaurant in the Ottawa region. I usually like my Mexican food hot but at Mon Cafe it is great as chef makes it. Great food, full of flavor. We visited with my family and all of us loved it. The dessert we had was out of this world. Service was as great as the food. It is a family owned restaurant and everyone is so friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Working hard with a friendly smile. Difficult to find such a friendly service anywhere these days. Whole family is hard working and super talented , the real passion is not food, it is singing. I would give seven stars if possible. We are looking forward to visiting with our family and friends to support you and enjoy amazing food, once COVID gets better. Keep up the great work.

Outstanding iced chai latte, maybe the best Ive had. The flavours are the perfect ratio of spice to sweet, not too much of either. And the ice....some small cubes and the rest is a bit of slushie-like ice. It transforms the whole drink. Perfect to take out and sip while strolling along the river.

A superb terrace overlooking the Ottawa River where we can enjoy a tasty Mexican meal! This family restaurant is located in a great location! The service is excellent and what can we say about the food, simply exquisite!!! The BEST very soft cake (three milks) . Beautiful wine and drinks list!

Nice little mexican restaurant with a great view of the River, very relaxing. It s a cafe yes, but they serve delicious mexican food, not the americanized version, one closer to the original mexican food. Cochinita (pork) tacos were delicious, big enough portion accompanied with tasty rice. One thing I d like to highlight is the service, they are really welcoming and make you feel at home, very cheerful. Prices are a bit on the high side but worth it. Will go back without a doubt.

Evening after dinner coffee and a beautiful stroll on the paved trail. It was a busy place but they still made time for our take out coffees.

Warm and Kind Hospitality We ordered veg quesadillas, Tacos and veg Nachos. They were delicious and the vibe with the waterfront is amazing!

Exceptional food, its homemade and just spicy enough for Mexican dishes. The drinks and desserts are all equally delicious! Its a perfect place to have a coffee in front of the superb view of the Ottawa River as well as to enjoy a good meal.

This place was excellent! I always love visiting family establishments and you can clearly see everyone is genuinely enjoying being there. The staff were so nice and attentive, always quick to bring all of our drinks and food. Our food was amazing, so tasty and delicious. (Also appreciated they had vegetarian options!) I also highly recommend the sangria, (both flavours) it was so tasty ! Last, but not least the white cake our table had at the end of the evening was a tiny piece of heaven! It was moist and so flavourful! Definitely a great place to visit if youre local or from out of town!

Authentic fresh .... what more could you want?

I was only there for a few hot beverages. The staff were friendly and smiling. The drinks excellent. The prices were ok... They even helped me fill my little ones bottle. Its a beautiful, peaceful place.

The nachos were a little underwhelming as compared to what I had at other places in the neighborhood. Perhaps more veggies and flavor for the vegetarian nachos would help. Everything else we ordered was great. Tres leches cake was delicious. Amazing service and great ambience for a lovely evening.

Mon Café is beautifully situated, with a view on the river, facing Parliament hill. As its name indicates, it is a small establishment. It is extremely convivial and an evening out the Mon Cafes terrace promises a delicious homemade Mexican meal, and a warm atmosphere as the Flores family welcomes you. Everyone in the family is extremely musically talented and, at times, might offer a few songs. Special concert nights are also part of the schedule. If you like fresh, locally made food and a warm latino welcome, Mon Café will not disappoint!

I went to have a little coffee while passing by and I was treated to impeccable curbside service (practically like a drive-thru)! Im going back with a friend in 3 days because I loved the service so much!!

I say this without a doubt, the best cafe in the Ottawa Gatineau region. You will get a beautiful view of the Rideau waterfalls, the parliment, mini buckingham palace and the supreme court. The food does the beautiful view justice, with only homecooked meals with fresh ingredients. All for a VERY VERY good price. I was expecting a 70-80 bill but it was 50 for two people, who ate two full course meals, with coffee and desert. I can not recommend this place highly enough. Homemade pulled pork marinated for a a few days, in fresh bread, along with red onions marinated in whatever, that delight was. Home made carrot cake, that tastes like your mom or grandma made it. Excellent coffee, light roast my fav.

Small family restaurant with friendly people!

Expensive and not much on the plate. I left still hungry. There were 4 of us and we all had quesadias. There was half a quesadia cut in two per plate. A few coriander leaves and 1 slice of lemon for the only accompaniment.

Burritos, tacos de cochinita and the pastel de tres leches are amazing! Cozy atmosphere and super friendly service.

Beautiful location and absolutely fantastic service. The cafe is great to spend a nice cozy afternoon or evening with friends and family. With scrumptious items on the menu, Mon cafe is def. a must try!
