Nice little place by the Ottawa river. Can't comment on all the food as we only had Nachos with drinks. The nachos were more than tasteless. I guess the unsalted chips didn't help. They were very low on cheese and the absence of jalapeño was very deceiving. We were given salsa Verde instead of guacamole, but they confirmed it was guacamole. No avocado in it, so not sure if it's their grandma recipe...
Decided to try this place as we drove by and saw how busy it was. I would not say this is traditional real authentic Mexican food, the food is bland, options are limited in terms of creativity. Service was slow, waitress seemed to want to make friends over serving. I ordered a chicken enchilada, soggy, no flavour, they use a tortilla chip instead of a corn tortilla to wrap the chicken, the sauce is abysmal, and the cheese is low end Walmart great value type. My partner ordered the beef burrito which includes salsa and sour cream, but they didn’t bring either, instead they said we had to request it as people waste it so they don’t give it to patrons unless we ask. Tried the chicken wings with a “Mexican twist” however, all I got was paprika rubbed wings, overly deep fried dry and bone turned white flavourless wings with a hot honey sauce. I have to say the only thing that was good was the hot salsa and the regular salsa. It does have a great location and sight, too bad the rest was under par.
I got a takeout order from here. Friends and I were staying in Gatineau. Tequila and beer had been enjoyed throughout the day. I was the only sober one, so we checked out the Noche Maya menu, and I went and ordered food from the restaurant. Melanie, the waitress, rang up the order and graciously itemized the cost of the chimichangas, burrito, and the salsa and chips order. Oh, did I mention it had started to rain and I was on a motorcycle? Well, it was raining, and I packed the 8 or 9 takeout packages into my Harley's tour box. No salsa was spilled on the way back to the motel! The hot food was hot and delicious, and the salads were cool and tasty! Just the right meal when you've been drinking tequila and Coronas in a motel parking lot with good friends. Melodie told me it was their first take out order. I think they did extremely well.
I've been going to this place for six years. I don't understand why some people rate it three stars. The service is great, the fair price is you can order drinks and food that are not on the menu. Great atmosphere with Latin music and a great view. I highly recommend it.
Understanding the choriqueso might be less traditional with the dry cured chorizo and maybe not gooey Oaxaca cheese, the dish (and the rest of the food) was still very good. Service was friendly. The terrace overlooking the river is perfect any time of day or evening.
This is NOT a Mexican restaurant. The food was embarrassingly awful. We ordered the chorizo queso and the Mexican dip. The queso was literally shredded cheese and chunks of sausage microwaved (see pic) and the Mexican dip was watery and tasteless. Would not recommend. Our server was fine and the view is amazing.
My wife and I tried this little hidden gem the other day. Noche Maya has a great view and a relaxing atmosphere to compliment it. It's a cozy little spot for a date or to go out with friends. My wife tried two of their cocktails. The first is a sangria called "Blue Lagoon" which was a bit on the sweet side for my taste. It had a wonderful balance of citrus and sweetness different from your typical sangria. It was a great drink to order on a hot day. The second was your typical "Bloody Ceasar" which was very good. It was not too spicy, still had a kick thought, and there was not too much Worcestershire sauce. As for the food, we tried the Mexican chicken wings called "Alas de Pollo" the wings were juicy and tender. The wings paired well with mayo due to the spices used. The only comment I can make about this dish is the sauce honey sauce they served was not very tasty. Next, my wife tried the "Enchiladas" served with a chocolate sauce, rice and salad. Now I am not a fan of chocolate and meat together, but they did an excellent job. It does have an acquired taste, so be ready to try something new. For myself, I went for a classic and ordered the "Burrito," it was perfect. The burrito did not have too much sauce or not enough. The ingredients were perfectly balanced, and the beef was perfectly cooked (It was still pink!!). Like my wife, my dishes also were accompanied by the same salad. It was a green salad with a light and fresh vinaigrette made with herbs, and to top, it had tomatoes and onions. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy little date spot or to relax with friends. The food and drinks are delicious and worth the price. The service is a bit slow at times, but if you're looking to stay and enjoy a nice patio look no further.
Came to Noche Maya with some buddies on a random Monday, and to be honest this place has the worst "Mexican" food I have ever had in Gatineau/ Ottawa. The service was ok, but the food was horrible. We ordered Nachos which had burnt chips a side of sour cream and no salsa , the Calamari was 100% frozen and pre-battered. For an the main course I ordered a chicken burrito, after thinking to myself " they cant mess this up" . Well, they did mess it up. It had no flavor, the cheese inside was not melted , the rice was white and had no seasoning , and the chicken was boiled. The side Salad didn't have any dressing , and they just threw some mozzarella cheese on top... Just do yourself a favor and don't come here. I am all for supporting local small business , but not ones that do not care about what they serve people.

We had to leave before receiving our meal after 2 hours of waiting order a 2nd drink while waiting for it to have never received the corona ice tray was rusty and one lime out of 3 in the beer the daiquiris had almost no taste very disappointed
The location is top tier. The service is wonderful and the servers are always quick and friendly. The food is excellent and affordable as well.

Hello, it was my first time at Noche Maya. I had an unpleasant experience with the owners wife. She was drooling, unhappy to serve us. She received our order and we heard doors slamming and people coming out of the kitchen. felt unwelcome the bar maid was great for example nothing to say all that to summarize a bad experience I recommend a change of staff thank you!
It was our second time at this restaurant but it was not up to our memories. Food was ok at best, but definitely not authentic ! Sangria tasted like juice from a can and not a good one. Atmosphere was terrible, music from the 50s even the waitress complained to her boss. Overall waaaay overpriced for what you get. Avoid if you can

For a real Mexican experience and food this is my favorite place. In summer there are even musicians. Its a very pleasant place with extraordinary staff.

I loved my burrito dish made authentic and delicious. Everything was super hot and good. Even the salad was good ;) Courteous service where you feel good. The open terrace with parasol is a great place. Check if there is room before arriving; often the tables are reserved outside. These pleasant eating and looking at the other side of the river I loved. We will go back for sure!!

Poor management and service. Google says open till 11 pm, we went there at 8:30pm they said they close at 8:30 - 9 but the management dont bother fixing the timing. As we were speaking to the waiter, the management angerly came to us waiving to leave lol. Have never seen that before. Regardless, very poor experience and I dont recommend this place.

Showed up at 9 to be told the kitchen closed at 9 and the bar at 9:30. No info on their website or socials about that so I find it a little weird for the kitchen to close 2h before the restaurants close :(
Before we even sat down the old man server told me to cover up to sit outside at some old scratched tables at a very dive-bar scale place when other people already sitting were wearing similar outfits to mine. Seemed very body shamey, especially when no one else working there had any issue with my attire once we were seated by someone else. Then that same server was assigned to our table, barely came to our table, and our order took over an hour for one plate of nachos and sangria that were overpriced for what they were and tasteless. Apparently the kitchen lost our ticket and we were just told to wait, not even offered a sorry about that. I was put off by the crass judgement of some old dude with an attitude problem when Ive never once had an issue being seated indoors at much nicer restaurants wearing the exact same clothes. No one else working or eating there seemed to be as offended by a crop top some shorts when half the clientele were also dressed like that. It just baffled me. I wont go back and I wouldnt recommend anyone else does until there are better, less misogynistic attitudes by the older male serving staff there and the prices go down to properly reflect the absolutely mediocre menu. Absolute waste of $70. Couldve had a better meal for ¼ the cost at Tim Hortons.

Im a little confused about the rating of this restaurant. One star for the location. The neon green margaritas seemed to be from a pre-mix. The guac was bland and the chips were not great. At least the calamari was edible... The salad contained 1/4 of the container of spring mix with 3 pieces of bland beef with a pinch of feta cheese. Very expensive for quality and quantity.
Had Sangria and calamari I like the decor and patio seating where you can see the water.

4 stars? How??? I d like to tell how the food was but we didn t get a chance to, because: Wasps were swarming us, one of my sons found a dead one at the very bottom of his drink (daiquiri that was covered with mounds of slushy ice on top) and when we showed the owner she swore at us and then started walking and while looking back saying next one you re paying for regardless because it s an outside restaurant ) Then she went to the bar and started speaking French to her coworkers and they kept staring at us while we tried to eat. Needless to say our dining experience was now uncomfortable so we asked for the bill without finishing our food and left. Btw they don t know how to make a margarita either - telling us it s supposed to only taste like lime in the beginning is laughable. The margarita was so salty it was like drinking table water with salt poured in. Nice view of the water though

Really enjoyed our meal here on Saturday night. Small place with a nice view of the river. The quacamole was fresh with plenty of tacos and the burrito and chimichanga were both v tasty. The mains came with a generous green salad with cheese. Service was friendly.

Ordered takeout 15 mins before opening. Restaurant decided to fill orders of those that came in after us and then kept pushing our order. Left with no food after waiting for about 50 minutes
Service was great, patio is great, all drinks were amazing, sangria, cocktails, beer, etc. Quesadilla was good. However calamari was probably previously frozen, and we didnt like the taste.

Great location. The pandemic hasnt been easy on restaurants. We ordered and waited. Our entrees were good, (calimari )devoured. The main course took quite a bit of time. During our wait we got to watch the serve staff eat at the bar. The music was oppressive club beats we had to shout over. It was a drag. Ambience could have been better. Food was fair.

Tacos missing flavor and tiny portions. Will not go back
1st time there on a Sunday early evening. My friend and I were greeted nicely. Julie our waitress greeted and welcomed us promptly. We received our bucket of beers in no time. We ordered half chicken half beef nachos. The well sized order got to our table in about 20 minutes. We mentioned to Julie that the nachos had only chicken on them, she apologized and immediately went to the kitchen and returned with some. The music and ambiance was nice and the view along the river is absolutely splendid! Will go again.

The chicken wings were really overcooked, its disgusting when there is red brown on the bones and the meat is too dry, the natchos were good without more and the waitress at the end when we paid and mentioned to her that it was were not good, I said, you just had to tell me first, we would have given you something else......and we didnt have much service and unfortunately we left the tip accordingly and she asked us why we just leave that as a tip I know that is not her fault but she should have seen the wings and our face and whats more she doesnt have to judge us for the tip we leave....weve been wanting to try your restaurant for a long time now its done and with a bill of even 68.00.....luckily the beer was excellent too bad.....

When I tell the waitress to see where my order is, she tells me that she is not in charge of the service! In addition, the waitress had drunk too much! Struggling with staffing when I was there
The terrace surely offers one of the most beautiful views in the entire National Capital Region.
Sitting on the terrace of this restaurant, you have a magnificent view of the Ottawa River, the Gatineau River, the Parliament of Canada... The food is okay, nothing more. The service is friendly. Unfortunately, the rules imposed during the pandemic are not respected. The staff does not wear masks. No one took our contact details in case of a possible explosion. Furthermore, having frequented a few restaurants in Quebec, I know that the practice is to provide a QR code allowing you to consult the menu online. This is not the case at this restaurant. Customers handle laminated menus without cleaning them. This nonchalance is not acceptable in my point of view.

Beautiful terrace with water view. On the other hand, I found that the food lacked oomph, probably since it didnt have the Mexican kick that I was looking for. I had a chicken taco and my friend had a beef quesadilla. The taco was okay, nothing more. As for my friend, his quesadilla had very few fillings and lacked meat. In my opinion, this place is good to go for a drink but thats it.

30 min to get our drinks, quality - quantity vs price, incredibly expensive, the chorizo tacos had just 2 small pieces of chorizo hidden in a mix of vegetables! Same thing for al pastor tacos! First and last time in this restaurant. 1 star thanks to the good service of the waitress.

More than an hour and a half waiting for 2 mini tacos where the salad takes up half of the plate. Not great, the tacos. The waitress is nice and apologizes several times for the delay, but its no use when your meal never arrives.

Two stars go to the friendly server and the stunning view . Lost stars for bland unseasoned food (all of it didnt even have a pinch if salt), slow service, and mismatch of price for portions. Pictured here was the only decent item: vegetarian fajitas for two where the toppings barely served one person. Beans were filled halfway in a portion cup.... I even paid extra for that and asked to make sure it was enough for two people. And yes no seasoning/salt in the beans, salsa, pico, or guac.
View was amazing. A true hidden gem. Food was very good and portions were large. Quality of food was just OK. Patio is very nice and big. There is a really cool artsy wooden walk alley you need to get to the restaurant from the parking lot. Its quite beautiful and very artsy.
