We went to eat at a good restaurant and we made a mistake, we ate a steak and it tasted like the sea... me and my wife were sick tomorrow, very disappointing and yet I was really looking forward to it to go there we went the 3 couple and 4 out of 6 ate steak and we all found it disgusting it smelled of the sea..and thats what smelled in the entire restaurant without exaggeration, maybe that we made the wrong choice , we would have had to have something else and I even asked the waitress what animal this meat came from and she confirmed to me that it was Beef and I asked her if he had added some kind of spice that felt that ???? And she told me no so I told myself that he hadnt washed his pan sorry but it was disgusting, never again steak at this restaurant for me Thank you for the good service

Great atmosphere. Very practical, a pre-match restaurant on site but a big disappointment in terms of food and value for money. A small proshutto pizza on a regular crust really surprised for $28 and ribs cold fries. Fries very salty and undercooked. Last year, the restaurant, despite its shortcomings, was better.

Our first time and we will return. Excellent menu choice. Everything was good. Fast and excellent service. Plenty of space at the tables and between tables. Privacy appreciated.

Gender-neutral toilets? NO thank you! I have been there 2 times since it opened and since then I have decided that I no longer want to encourage these locations that have mixed toilets. Do you plan to have separate women/men toilets soon???

Even though we had reservations, we found ourselves sitting at the bar, next to dirty glasses. The hostess insisted that this is what we requested (seats at the bar) in our online reservation, which is not true. We were a bit captive since we were going to a show straight after. The food was OK at most (two tartare duos, and a classic hamburger). We omitted the vinaigrette in one of the salads. Some fries were simply not cooked. The hamburgers beef patty had seen the flames up close and long enough to acquire a burnt taste. Its the kind of very noisy restaurant where you cram as many people as possible to make a big profit on food that isnt worth the price. We will not return to this restaurant, even though it is so well located near the Maison de la Culture.

Perfect Restaurant for a good meal before a Show at the Maison de la Culture. We took advantage of the Wednesday specials on Burgers. I brought a friend who was coming to 1973 for the first time. She really enjoyed the oven pizza. You were Delicious! Excellent service. THANKS!

This restaurant really doesnt deserve its 3.8. The friendly waiter Sami mentioned to us that there had been a change in administration and I imagine the changes are already being felt. We were visiting Gatineau for the mens Norceca and the smell of the restaurant convinced us to go there, even though I had read the comments. Fast service despite a group of around twenty. Generous and delicious fish & chips, my friends pizza was wow, as was my mans burger. So a well-deserved 5 stars!

Outstanding service, its expensive to pay for the service, basically the food is just OK and really just ok, seems like they have a new menu, I suggest you go back to the old one, chicken wings came out of the bag and put in oil without spice without anything. The worst.....Not one person in the restaurant and they refused starters. For what? Because the reservation arrives in 1 hour. Bravo.....you refuse money while your restaurant is empty.

The fries were extremely overcooked and the club sandwich left something to be desired. The chicken was of poor quality.

Very well received. We were even suggested to order quickly because there was a group of 40 people to ensure that we had it in time for our show. Service was excellent, food very good. We will definitely come back.

We had dinner as a couple before going to the Maison de la Culture. We had 2 starters and 2 meals, all shared between 4 adults. All topped off with 2 cocktails and a pitcher of beer. All for $176 tax included, tip extra. The meal consisted of a plate of fried squid, sausage dip, tartare duo and a double fish and chips. New and very beautiful restaurant. Slow service as they prioritize drinks instead of meals. For the meals, they were good nothing more. Similar to fast food restaurants but much more expensive. For the price, which in our opinion is excessive, there are better places nearby. We do not recommend this restaurant and will not return.

As for the quality of the dishes, it is unfortunately mediocre, although we really liked it a few years ago when it opened, but since then it is no longer the quality that wins. As for the service, its excessively slow, the waitress was very nice and polite so she deserved her tip but as for waiting to order etc. its slow.. lack of staff during the evening of a show in the cultural center right next door.

Nice place, but unfortunately the service was slow and the food is VERY ordinary for the price. I ordered the duck grilled cheese which sounded delicious on the menu, but as soon as I received my plate I knew it would be disappointing. It was dry and the presentation didnt help either. For a $26 grilled cheese I really expected better. Everyone at my table was disappointed with their meal and will not return.

New restaurant very nice decor good service

Today, Friday July 12, we tried to contact the restaurant several times to make a reservation without success. We went to the restaurant at 4:45 pm to find out if there was room. Some employees said yes and others no because a reservation was required. Two employees we spoke to it wasnt their best day. We had zero help so we just left for another restaurant. Not sure well go back there anytime soon. Not because we couldnt stay but rather the unpleasant attitude of the employees.

Masterclass! The service from our waitress Jessica was excellent, and the wonderful manager was very funny, not to mention the food from the chef was incredible.

My friend and I went to the restaurant, Sami was our server, what amazing service! I cant find the words, the waiter was inhumanly kind, I recommend 100%.

I made a reservation for two people at 6:15. We had booked an activity at 8:10 a.m. and we arrived just in time because the service was very long. Just enough time to say hello, give us water and take our order, we waited 25 minutes without exaggeration. Employees went everywhere without knowing what to do or because they had too much on their shoulders to manage. The scallops were ordinary and the nacho was good but nothing more, they say they are nachos cooked on site but I doubt it given the almost identical uniformity of all the chips and the taste, they looked like old ones dutch and for the size of the nachos we only have a tiny pot of salsa and sour cream. The waitress was very nice and helpful, its not her fault. Parking: Parking on the upper floor of the slush puppies center.

If I could, I would have taken 0.1 hour and a half to receive 2 meals out of 3 completely cold and 10 minutes more for the 3rd meal. Service more than difficult, the waitress does not come to see us we have to ask other members of staff. Restaurant to avoid.

Really bad experience. Unable to provide acceptable service when there are events (Show and fight this evening). We waited more than an hour and a half to get our dishes, if at least they had arrived hot. But no, it was cold... so it had been ready for a long time. Their reason: we wanted all 3 dishes to arrive at the same time. The only dish slightly hot, the 3rd arrived 10 minutes later, so that doesnt hold water as an explanation. Also, several customers who arrived after us were served before us and even had time to finish their plates before we received ours. The service and the way of interacting with customers unhappy with their experience would also need to be reviewed and improved. Really disappointing experience.

We were extremely disappointed with the service. We made a reservation for 6:15 p.m. We were placed immediately upon our arrival but no one came to see us (not even to give us water) before 6:40 p.m.. not even one would be long! Then another 30 minute wait for food which was ok but nothing more. It was our first experience but we dont think well go back

Food is bad. They always burn the steak, 3 times i went there and the 3 times they burned it. They redid it and they still burned it. Need to change the chef... Not only the steak.....

Restaurant looks great, but it stops there. Service was awful. We ordered and it took the waitress 25 minutes to come back empty handed to tell us they were out of the dish 2 of us ordered. We picked something else and 40 minutes later we still didn t have any food. The waitress never came to offer us drinks or anything. The open kitchen showcased their chefs on their phones. We left without eating.

On game days, always get that reservation in. Very busy. I don t know why exactly you d dine here on normal days and not a normal chain restaurant. You pay extra for the convenience of it being inside an Olympiques game, not exactly worth that cost if you re not seeing a game (plus parking in the garage)

I am EXTREMELY disappointed. We ordered 2 filet mignon which tasted horrible. The chef, Daniel came to me for the steak and he was really rude to me when I told him I didnt like the taste. He is very arrogant with women but as soon as he speaks to a man he suddenly becomes very polite. Worst restaurant in Gatineau. I would like to say that our waitress was wonderful, very friendly.

Good food and excellent service. There was a small error in the order and it was resolved quickly with an apology from the waitress. Not the first time a mistake has happened in a restaurant, but the first time weve received an apology. I tipped the waitress very well. Second visit: The bathrooms are dirty, the floors are sticky, the toilets are not flushed and the seats are wet with urine. I am disappointed to see such a situation in the place of this range. Steak was overcooked. The sports plater came out missing the jalapeños poppers. The fried zucchini was actually fried dill pickles. They forgot my order of escargot. And for all those mistakes I got 25% off the steak dinner.

Crevettes brûler sur un côté et servi avec sauce rosée! Pas super bon! Vraiment dommage!

Super good drinks and food for all tastes at several levels of gastronomy, very lively on show evenings or sporting activities. Definitely try and judge for yourself. Parking: Free for the moment, terminals will be put into operation eventually. Wheelchair accessibility: The button does not activate the door at the moment, to see if it will be in operation during your visit.

Not that many menu options good if your attending a hockey game and want something quick I guess. The Cauliflower wings tasted mostly of batter very little seasoning wine options by the glass are limited, forces to by the bottle which is usually cheaper, but i wasn t interested. The 1973 burger is served with sauces already wasn t mentioned. Very little details on the menu itself to help you make a choice frites are good! Poutine was good but with cauliflower entrée, the meal portion was too big and well 18$ for poutine! Come on it s potatoes, curds and gravy our waitress was kind

My partner and I went to 1973 Tuesday evening before a show at the Maison de la Culture. We had visited this restaurant several times before before or after an Olympic match and everything went well. But that evening $220 later what a disappointment! The show was at 7:00 p.m. our reservation was for 4:45 p.m. (2:15 before the show). A few minutes after arriving we came to take our order for aperitifs which were served to us in a reasonable time. Then we place the order for the starter and the main course . I have never visited a restaurant where 45 minutes later they serve the starter and the main course at the same time REALLY!!! Unfortunately I ordered your steak. As you know, a steak that rests continues to cook, so by the time I finished my starter my steak was like the sole of a boot the whole table was shaking when I cut my steak. It is now 6:05 p.m., 55 minutes before the show we made the mistake of ordering a dessert .a crème brûlée and a Spanish coffee, nothing too complicated, they arrived at 6:40 p.m. ..then another 15 minutes for the Invoice!!! Luckily we were right across the street so we arrived just in time for the show! Its not like the restaurant was super busy either, it was maybe 25% full. Apparently we were entitled to a 10% discount if we went to see a show at the Maison de la Culture, this was never applied. It probably would have taken another 30 minutes to apply it :)

I visited Le 1973 Resto Bar last weekend but was very disappointed because although the food looked wonderful, after waiting approximately 1.5 hours we still did not have our food and were told there had been a mix-up in the kitchen. We had a show to attend and were asked if we wanted to wait another 15 minutes and take it to go... We ensured to give a 75% tip to our waiter on our drinks since it was not their fault but I would have expected some kind of apology or a voucher to make us want to return. Very disappointed and left very hungry for a 2 hour show.

This restaurant is not very visible since it is adjacent to the Slush Puppie Center. Its very beautiful inside. And the food is good! The wood-fired pizzas, the famous 1973 signature burger (smoked burger! And good fries, but honestly the salad option with feta/goat cheese and marinated onions is almost better!), etc. This summer some menus are 50% off at lunchtime (with a drink)! Burgers Tuesday-Wednesday, and pizzas Thursday-Friday. We get by on the cheap, which is increasingly rare in 2023. Access is extremely easy with the Rapibus, De la Cité station. Also, note that for the moment parking is free on the 3rd and 4th floors of the multi-level parking lot just behind. It s worth trying! And I would like to keep it because it s close to my work Vegetarian options: Salads Dietary restrictions: A colleague is intolerant to dairy products: she was accommodated without problem. For our order of two New York steaks (rare and medium), we received two very well done steaks. Very little compromise from the manager, who only offered a very small discount of $10 for a total bill of more than $100. Very dissatisfied with their approach. (except for our kind and polite hostess)

There were 4 of us for my partners party. Very beautiful restaurant. Mixed toilets. Good point. Very good meal, a little expensive but still reasonable, good drink too. Only negative point, 3 dishes were of good quantity but my partners (jerk chicken) was a baby portion (ridiculous). Luckily he was given a piece of cake for his party to fill it. I will probably go back.

The food is good, considering its a restaurant-bar. Super good service and perfect place to go before a game. It is very possible to come in at 6pm and leave at 7pm.

Honestly an experience that lifted her heart I went there for a date and my date threw up everything she ate that night. I ordered fish and chips and a pizza. For the price I paid I expected it to be respectable. In the end I didnt even eat the fries because they werent good, I left more than half of the fish and the only thing I could barely eat was half the pizza. Its rare that a young person will complain about the food and especially do a Google review, but here it was really outrageous how we got sick because of this food.. its a real shame

The lights should be dimmer. The lighting is too bright for an evening restaurant. I still give a rating of 9/10

Efficient, attentive and authentic table service, beautiful decor and good atmosphere. High prices for the quality received, both for the quality of the ingredients and for the execution. Disappointing food, the menu suggests a certain quality which is not found on the plate. Very long wait. Cold grilled cheese sandwich, cheese was not melted. Overcooked, almost charred hamburger patty. Not very tasty Italian pizza, the dough overcooked, but the toppings not enough. This was our 2nd time coming here and it was our last time. Bad service from the waitress, Noemie. We waited almost 30 mins for something to drink, then and extra 20 mins for her to take our order. After 45 mins of waiting for our food order, we told her that our beers were almost done and if our food wasnt ready by the time we finished our beers, we were leaving. Her response, ok, cest bon. As we were about to leave after a total of an hour and a half, we got our order a burger and fries from the express events menu and both our burgers were burnt. It was a waste of $67 and our time. We reserved for 5pm

Small portion, big price. Small Burger with Crispy Fries $22. Burger rare the first time. I flipped it and the second one was well cooked but very salty.
