The food was delicious . The only thing we didnt like were onion rings. Weird seasoning. We came in at 2 pm. Wished we could have had dinner menu. But the lunch menu was still good. The service was great. They had a menu in English, and both waitress spoke English. We were visiting from Alberta.. Kid-friendliness: No.kids menu

The food and service was amazing, very creative flavors and takes on classic BBQ dishes. Great place to go if youre Celiac. Dietary restrictions: There are lots of good Gluten free options here.

This is the type of restaurant that makes it because they charge reasonable prices and the food is unreal.

Warm place, courteous staff, excellent food!

We ate with a couple of friends. We ate well. The food was good I had the jerk chicken and the portion was quite sufficient. We had the famous fried Mars bar for dessert. Yes yes. Its very good! Great service too! Everything was perfect! Parking: I dont even know if there are places at the spot but on the neighboring street(s) we found places quite close anyway.

Great services, smiling employees and attention to detail. The atmosphere is really relaxed and pleasant, the music does not bury our conversations nor is out of place or too loud. Everything about the food is absolutely excellent (except, oddly enough, the onion rings with heavy breading), but its a carnivores paradise. Beef, pork, chicken: treat yourself! Even the coleslaws are amazing. The music is at just the right sound level, and the service is friendly and fast. The only improvement to suggest: they are victims of their success and we are a little cramped in the dining room. Removing a table could greatly help, but with waiting lists, I understand that we have to make the most of the space.

This was my 3rd visit, second to this magnificent place. I liked the roof terrace. The service was superb and the food excellent. I will definitely be back.

Couple night out for dinner before casino. This place is off the charts good. Best BBQ ribs in the Gatineau. Sides of veg and salad top notch. The roof top patio was packed and the service was fast and personal. Service was in both English and French. Im going back. Food

Great BBQ! Nice, friendly guys running the place. Portions are big. Ate too much. :-) Update... Now in a new location. Its much nicer and has more seating, including a nice upper patio. The food was just as good but the service was terrible. Our waiter was fine but it took an hour for our food.

Best BBQ I have found. Our server was excellent and attentive even though she was swamped. Very friendly and professional. Parking: On a busy day go two or three blocks away. Kid-friendliness: Dont see why not. They wont be bored. Lots going on.

Its way too expensive for what it is! $60! For a big poutine which is actually rather small and a Mac and cheese. Both with barely any meat on them. Come on, dont worry about going back.

Over 3 hour wait for food. Food tasted like it was made in mop water. Waiter stopped by 2 times in 3 hours for drinks and bills.

Im rarely so impressed by the quality of the food when I go to a restaurant. We ordered a platter of dishes to share and it was an exceptional meal. A real feast! And thank you to our waitress Aude for the very friendly service. The only very small downside is that the kiwi fizz mocktail was charged $15 instead of the $11 written in the menu. I noticed it the next day when looking at the bill but its not a big deal. I cant wait to go back!

Being in Gatineau, I found this restaurant on Google. We are fans of this type of restaurant and we had a great experience. Everything was perfect: Cassandras service, the cocktails, the main course (meeting for 2) and the atmosphere. We had a pleasant time.

Missed the mark!! For how thin they sliced that brisket, I have a hard time believing it was smoked till 203°. It was as thin as cold cut meat. I going to assume the brisket meat for the sandwich is clearly from yesterday, put into a fridge and sliced on a slicer cold the get it that thin or its not smoked long enough. When I serve or order a brisket sandwich I want nice 1/4 slices piled high. You couldnt even taste the meat. Sauces and cheese took over all the complexity of the smoke. (Which is hard to do in youre smoking with hickory) When youre charging 34$ with tip and taxes at noon for lunch, make it memorable. Also the machines are set to give minimum 18% tip as a fast option unless you change it yourself. Ive traveled extensively through the United States. All the big stops (Texas,Kansas, Carolinas). I love BBQ. With the ravishing reviews I couldnt say no to the BBQ shop. It might pass for Canadian BBQ but if this place was open in the big 3 states who are kings of the Que, the doors wouldnt stay open a year with the sad portion sizes and the price. The only thing that saved the review not to be a one star is the Jamaican rice. Yes you read that correctly, the day Jamaican rice saved a smoke house. Go back and read what I said, because youll never see it again. Its a real shame because Ill never go back and I wanted to love it so bad. The search continues for REAL BBQ in Canada!!

Ordered the chicken & ribs combo take out. Chicken had so much pepper, I threw it away. The ribs were fine. Overall portions were small for the price.

The BBQ shop is an establishment that doesnt have to prove itself. A beautiful evening on the roof terrace in September, entry, meals and cocktails. From A to Z, everything was more than 5 stars. The meat is of excellent quality, very tasty. Accompaniments well seasoned, varied and original. The perfect cocktails. There are so many choices, you have to come back more than once! Corn bread with small corn kernels and jalapeno, unique. The selection of beers from local microbreweries is varied: from Pilsner to Stout on nitro. 5 stars, thank you BBQ shop.

I bought a poutine for $15 that was so small that my 15 month old child could finish it 2 or even three times... Im disappointed.

I would have liked to give fewer stars, but the minimum is 1. The food is good, get me wrong, but we received a mini-micro-macro portion of poutine for $18 with tip and tax. I can believe in inflation, but thats a joke. I will never go back.

It s Ok nothing extraordinary . What is extraordinary is 35$ FOR A bacon Cheese burger ( just the sandwich for pick-up ) -Last time i pay 35$ for a damn burger .

I have been to this restaurant a few times but this time I was disappointed. Two of us came for our dinner break. They brought us the lunch menu which showed that these dishes were quicker to prepare. So we made a choice from this famous menu. But after more than 30 minutes of waiting, we still have not been served. We had to take our meals away. Two people arrived about 15 minutes after us and were served before. We received no word of apology, absolutely nothing. The dishes remain good but the service today was quite disappointing.

Original Review: We will not go back. The BBQ ribs might have been served with Kraft BBQ Sauce and were rather stringy, not tender. $18 for 4 small ribs about 3 inches long with little meat on them - so very poor value. The menu is so complex, the server needs to explain each section to each table (we heard her explaining it over and over again to every new table). They made us sit at a family-style table for 10 people - so my wife and I were on one side of the table, and there were strangers at the other end of the able. The cold air vent was right under my chair - I like cold, but that was too cold. Parking: I dont think they have dedicated parking.

Definitely a good find, food and drinks were outstanding!

1- nothing negative to say on site, its good and all. 2- on the other hand, caterer level it was very ordinary. No acknowledgment of receipt when placing the order, we had to call several times to reach someone to confirm. Food wise; the ribs were dry dry dry, the chicken was okay, the pulled pork had lumps and had to be broken up again, the bread buns were crumbling because they were so dry too. The salad is okay, its still a salad, the mac and cheese is delicious. For an order of $1000 it was very disappointing.

Still as good, but this evening, I received a childs portion of poutine (although I ordered the large poutine). Not long ago, it was overflowing, the portion was generous...really disappointing for $30.

Since the BBQ Shop changed ownership, we dont go there anymore! It s become so expensive and the portions have diminished! We always had the jerk chicken poutine. This is just to say that you put chicken. What a disappointment!

I have been to this restaurant at least 30 times and here is my observation: the food is excellent even if the portions are not constant (sometimes the same meal is 20% smaller than the week before and two weeks later it is is back to being as big as it was) and you will receive excellent service if you do not have an eating disorder or refuse sexual advances made by employees who use the personal information you provide to the restaurant when making your reservation (full name and phone number) to find you on Instagram. If you are living with an eating disorder, be prepared for lots of comments about the portions you eat: wow did you eat all that?! You know that s a big portion, right? Are you sure you want to order this? Do you have hiccups? We wonder why with everything you ate You re done, can I take it away? Oh wow you havent finished your plate? This is a first! ) while the individual portions are by no means gigantic. In fact, their large poutine is equivalent to a small or medium poutine in many other restaurants (it depends on the week, as I said the portions are not constant at all). Oh and a waiter has never offered me the specials. I ended up figuring out for myself that there was a board in the back of the restaurant with specials. This is ridiculous. I must admit that I find it absolutely fascinating that people who work in a restaurant dont seem to understand that if people come to their restaurant its because they like to eat and not just look at their food and take two bites, especially considering the price. exorbitant prices for certain items on the menu. Besides, they never have wines on their menu. They then offer you several alternatives without ever telling you the prices and oh surprise, when you receive your bill, you see that your wine cost $16. Even if you clearly say that you want the cheapest wine, we insist on choosing your wine for you according to your tastes. So it just cost you almost $50 for poutine and a small glass of wine (with tax and tip). And after that they wonder why you finish your plate... And if you ever refuse the sexual advances of employees, above all be prepared to be kicked out because they need your table RIGHT AWAY even though you have not finished your dessert and glass of wine (and the bar is practically empty and there is clearly room for you) and we question why you continue to come to the restaurant. Clearly you must like the food because you don t come here for the staff. Indeed, if I go to a restaurant, it s because I like the food at that restaurant. Its hard to believe that some people who work in a restaurant dont understand this. Now, before refusing these advances (and if you personally do not refuse them), we will tell you how cool it is that you come regularly - that the bbq shop is your spot -, we will tell you will offer free drinks and, if they need your table for another reservation, you will be invited to the bar if you havent finished eating (or even if you are finished but want to continue chatting, no need to leave, come and chat at the bar ). Youll even get free shots and wont have to incur any additional expenses to stay! In short, it is entirely possible to have a great experience at the BBQ shop. You just have to be willing to take the risk. Little tip: use a false name for your reservation. This will save you from a lot of potential problems.

A beautiful little place. They have a beautiful roof terrace which is semi protected for the summer. Perfect and excellent food.

I was pleasantly surprised! Really good! I recommend it for jerk and mac n cheese. Their jerk chicken sauce is truly #1. The missing star is for the really overcooked brisket and the rather salty prices. I still recommend for an outing with friends you know more or less like colleagues or in-laws.

We went 2 or three times to eat, my family and I booked for 5 hours, we had a maximum of 2 hours and with the service being very slow we didnt have time to complete our meal and didnt even have time ate a good dessert for the children and some adults we were asked to leave because there are other reservations at 7 oclock very disappointed because the food is very good but the service is not very understanding too slow

My recent visit to this BBQ Shop left much to be desired. Despite the promising aroma of smoked meats wafting through the air, the reality fell short of expectations. Firstly, the prices were exorbitant for what turned out to be average brisket. While I understand that quality comes at a cost, the lackluster flavor and texture of the meat failed to justify the steep price tag. It was a disappointing reminder that sometimes, paying more does not necessarily equate to better quality. To make matters worse, the ambiance was far from inviting. The crooked tables and uneven seating made it difficult to enjoy our meal comfortably. Its puzzling how such a basic aspect of restaurant maintenance could be overlooked, especially in a place that prides itself on offering a premium dining experience. Despite these shortcomings, the service was adequate, with staff members doing their best to accommodate patrons. However, its clear that improvements are needed in various areas to elevate the overall dining experience. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this place to fellow barbecue enthusiasts. With its overly priced menu and subpar ambiance, there are plenty of other establishments in town that offer better value for money and a more enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Edit: gave them another try, and had a wonderful experience. Service has always been their weak point, but the young gentleman who served me was fantastic. Ordered a platter, which was a bargain for the amount of food we got, and everything was excellent. Score changed from 2 to 4. (last review) They overcooked the brisket, and wouldnt take it back, even though it was grey, stiff, and blackened on one end. The waitress says thats how theyve done it for the last year. Ive been a customer longer than that, and they never would have served that before.

The BBQ Shop is great little place. Nice decor, pleasant ambiance and lovely rooftop terrasse during the warmer months. Loads of tasty options on the menu and portions are generous. The pulled pork and brisket are delicious and fries are crispy. One of my favorites are the brisket ends! They are crispy and tasty and great way to start the meal. Takeout is also a possibility and great spot to order from when hosting a large group of friends.

Seemingly inconspicuous place that packs a punch. Booked a table and was seated right away. Place is small but lively and well decorated. It was full with some walk ins waiting the entirety of our stay. The food is spectacular; honestly, the best Ive eaten in all of Gatineau. Had the Valentines special that was offered and everything was delicious. Service was excellent and didnt have to wait long for anything. Although a tad pricy, it is well worth the expense for special occasions.

Cest pas du vrai bbq , la viande étais froide et toutes les viandes on dirais quil étais décongeler et mis dans le four ou dans le micro-onde pour pouvoir le réchauffer un peu, dites pas que la viande a été cuisinée pendant 12heures pour donner quelque chose qui a été cuisinée une semaine avant et mis dans le frigidaire ou congélateur.

Well, to start off their greeting at the restaurant was amazing. Staff and service was great but most of all food was out of this world . brisket balls were the best. Just one comment the brisket mac & cheese, while I mostly had brisket fat. There was one and two pieces of meat on it other then tht food was amazing.

We went there to eat ribs, it was Sunday evening at 6 p.m. of a long weekend. We were very disappointed because there were no ribs left. Its very frustrating to drive 2 hours to eat ribs in a restaurant known for its ribs and have them gone at 6 p.m. For the rest it was good, the dishes are all a little spicy, borderline for those who dont normally eat spicy food. The drinks are good and the desserts fantastic.

Attended for take out for the Dirt Cheap BBQ event frankly after over an hour wait myself and many others left the line due to outright being unable to get any ribs and any service. No updates were given to people in the line and we were just outright told timelines hat were not realistic. If the wait is going to be another hour, don t tell us it s 15 minutes!!!! Over promising and under delivering is the worst thing you can possibly do. Really needs better organization for the Dirt Cheap BBQ. Left a very bad taste in mouth and we ended up going elsewhere to get dinner. Will not be returning unfortunately as we didn t feel valued as potential (or actual) customers this evening. I don t know if the service is better usually, but this was a flop in my book. Organization needs to be rethunk from the ground up to ensure you have a system in place to not have customers wait 2 hours to get something they didn t really want.

We were at the place for a dinner, with some drinks and the meaty big plate, which was advised for 2 but (depends) could be good for 3 too. The foods were amazing, the service was nice, just the wait time was quite a bit.

Amazing! Five stars does this place less justice. Im from Toronto and I must say this restaurant has some amazing dishes in store. Really loved the jerk chicken. Salmon wasnt as good but still very nice. The Monster burger was really tasty too! Much more than the veggie burger. Unfortunately they were out of the beer I wanted and desserts!!

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I visited with my family many years ago when they were at their old location and we enjoyed the food so much that when we returned to town, we knew that we wanted to make another stop. The new place is certainly much more upscale in terms of the decor and while the menu has changed, the food is still fantastic. Prices have also gone up significantly, but thats expected everywhere these days. We sat on the second floor deck outside and it was a fantastic space, with umbrellas to shade from the sun when its very sunny out. I didnt notice whether there was any dedicated parking, but there is plenty of free street parking close by. Its not cheap to eat out anymore, but if youre looking for good food with a nice atmosphere, Id recommend giving this place a try. Wheelchair accessibility: We sat on the second floor, which we accessed up a narrow staircase outside the building. I did not notice any elevators.

Fantastic food and drinks, great service, great music. If you get a good table on the terrasse, you ll have a great time. Some tables can be very cramped because it isn t a very big terrasse but it s great for a date or some time with friends.

Several trips to the BBQ Shop in the last 24 months. The experiences are very consistent which is a plus. The food is excellent, the Pulled Pork and Jamaican Chicken are excellent no matter what you put them on. The choice of beer is very respectable and varied The vast majority of times the service lived up to our expectations. Attentive waitresses, constant water refills, constructive advice and no pressure to leave the place even though the place can sometimes be crowded on Fridays. One of the best places to eat good food and have a few drinks in the region!

In area already and had parked elsewhere, we walked over for our lunch reservation. We had asked for indoor seating but were given the outdoor patio located upstairs. One of our group members had an injury so doing stairs was not easy. Other than that, food was excellent, servers were very nice, and we enjoyed the beautiful patio vibe. Looks like this place would be pretty cool to visit in the evening.

Had a reservation. Went to the restaurant. Waited to be seated but there was no staff around. Went upstairs and waited a bit longer for the wait staff. Place was empty except for one table that was occupied. Finally was seen and seated. There were a lot of tables that werent cleared/cleaned. Ordered the ribs which took about an hour from ordering to tabled. Ribs were pretty dry. Did not fall off the bone. Had to return a drink due to it being pretty flat as well. It wasnt a bad experience but it also wasnt a good one either.

Food was very good, but almost everyone at our table had something wrong with their order. Wrong sandwiches, wrong sides, etc.

Discovered this place after a hike at Gatineau Park. The food was absolutely amazing. My husband had 1 lb of ribs with onion rings which where both delicious. I had the Stuffed Brisket Sandwich with their Mac & Cheese and it was the best Brisket sandwich i ve ever had in my 32 years of life. The mac & cheese was also very good! I had a Mojito which was great and my husband had a local double IPA . The decor is also stunning and creative inside and up top on the spacious terrace. You can easily park for free in the surrounding streets. The service was great too! Fast, made sure we liked everything without being annoying like some places and coming over 4 times while your mouth is full ! Looking forward to our next visit to try their pulled pork and poutine.

Outside of Texas its difficult to find good bbq, but we found it here. The house beer was also excellent.

This does not deserve to be a 4.5 star place. This should be a 3.5 star at best, All the food had no flavour, even the garlic mayo has no flavour The onion rings were horrible The brisket was super dry & has 0 flavour But the presentation of the food was pretty I would not waste my $ here, avoid. Wish I could puke all the food out & take my appetite somewhere else, oh well

What more can I say, great!

I bought a poutine to take away, 15 minutes of waiting, and there was a staple in my poutine, never seen before. Very weird restaurant.

We ordered poutine for delivery Friday evening. 15.50 for an extremely small poutine, more than $20 for a large total bill of $76 for two small poutines and one large, with delivery. The poutine was really terrible, almost no cheese or sauce, the fries were cold and tasted like cardboard. Truly a huge disappointment, we wont be caught again.

75 minutes of waiting without being served!

My husband and I for his birthday went to the Casino yesterday. The restaurants there are not open due to a strike. So me being a foodie googled best restaurant near casino Le BBQ Shop was on the top. We actually walked to Le BBQ Shop from casino, only took 18 minutes, nice walk. Well I have to say the restaurant exceeded my expectations! We had beef brisket, jerk chicken, fries and spicy coleslaw .amazing! Cassandra was our server and the bartender made us feel like we were friends by the time we left! I m picky and this place had The Best food, The Best Service, The Best Atmosphere! We will be back and thank you for making my husbands birthday!

Très déçu de la nourriture. Viande fumée brisket sèche et beaucoup trop cuite. Je m attendais à vraiment mieux de la part d un restaurant que la spécialité est justement les viandes fumées. Dommage, car l ambiance est géniale et le menu alléchant. J ai mentionné ma déception à la serveuse, mais je n ai pas vraiment l impression que cela a été pris en compte.

Everything is superb about this place.. went with a bunch of friends.. they have great selection of bees and food.. plus rooftop patio is the best ..

Very cool spot. The food was quite good, with several dishes being extremely delicious. The Mac and cheese was amazing. The service was also great, with the staff being very friendly. The shared meat plates, while being a lot of food, are great to try different options.

I arrive at 9 p.m., the host mentions to me that the kitchen may be closed .I ask do you close at 10 p.m.? » .she hesitates and says to me We re almost closed .I left. Perhaps the employees should be informed of the hours of operation. Very very disappointed in the end

The food was outstanding. We had the brisket sandwich with a side of the Jamaican salad, it was remarkable. The burger was also delicious . I would recommend coming to this place anytime. Limited vegetarian options but you can make a nice mealwith the sides

The food and service is excellent. On the other hand, it does not have enough space to accommodate guests. We were placed at the front door, a lot of movement, I hope you will consider expanding the dining area. But, BBQ SHOP remains one of the best restaurants in the region. I highly recommend.

The drinks were incredible. The service was perfect. The food was extremely delicious. The place is small inside for the winter, so I recommend booking to make sure you dont miss the opportunity to eat there! Vegetarian options: The fried tofu pieces were as big as a piece of melted parmesan. There were at least 6 huge pieces. Watch out for the size of the cauliflower. It was huge :)

Had a pulled pork poutine and a burger. The burger filled me up quite quickly but I still finished the poutine anyway. Everything was excellent!

This was a random stop for food after a busy day. I didnt look at any reviews before coming here. More popular and fancy than I thought. I was unaware I needed reservations, but I highly suggest you get some if you plan to come on a saturday night. They luckily had one spot left for us at the bar, and service was great. Delicious food. We ordered 2 beers, the brie entrée, rib and chicken meal to split, and a Caesar. The spicy coleslaw brought some heat too. Enjoyable for sure.

Food is delicious! I want to try everything on their menu! Ive always gone there mid afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday, so its always been quiet, but I can see this place getting quite crowded. The only issue is that the high chairs for the tables along the window are not the most comfortable so I always request a regular table.

This restaurant has left a bitter taste in my mouth. The price-taste relationship is not at all advantageous for customers. The taste was absolutely nothing spectacular. The price is extremely expensive for a piece of food. In addition to this, they charged us for a soda that was never brought to us and the portion of fries ($6) that were included as an accompaniment to the ribs. High expectation big disappointment. BBQ Shop definitely entered my restaurant blacklist.
