1067 Rue Jacques-Cartier, Gatineau, QC J8T 2W3, Canada
Biggest covered terrace in the NCR overlooking the Ottawa River, with great food & drinks.
Le Pirate is a nice looking restaurant in a very nice location. Great service but the food is a bit lacking. It was still good but not that great. It's more like basic food for everyone. It would be nice if they would put more emphasis on the pirate yarrrr stuff. By that, I mean, don't pirate your fries from Costco! ;P If they tune up their recipe a bit, I think they could raise up the bar by a lot. Just be a bit more fancy please as I would like to return!
Good experience having dinner on the river bank, against nice Ontario side view. Moon is rising just opposite to you behind the hills, especially good when there is full moon. Food is reasonable, service is prompt though the place is crowded, wines are good, prices reasonabe..
Food always amazing!!! Generous Portions, very reasonable prices. Service top notch. Atmosphere so fun, view spectacular. The place is always full because of everything listed above. 10/10 Thank you Emerik for the service with a smile, great job.
We stopped here from the bike path. Friendly service and lots of sears available on patio or inside. Good selection of food. We liked everything they served. Beautiful location with great views. My wife really liked the Frozen Margaritas! Clean and well maintained bathrooms. Definitely head there again next bike trip !
Made reservations ahead of time and came herewith a large group for a friends birthday. Waited over half an hour for menus and had to ask several times. Server was extremely busy. Was confused because when you go inside by the bar the female owner was just standing there eating while her staff were busy. I was excited to try this menu as it had items I had not seen in a menu in a while. 3 of us ordered Coquille st Jacques... no one liked it. 2 people ate it because they are hungry and your not going to wait another 2 hours for food. I didn't eat it as it was digusting and not edible and very dry. Owner was upset I didn't eat it and said she serves hundred of them. The lobster bisque was literally a tomato soup, fish and chips looked like Something you buy from a box at the grocery store and was so overcooked it was like chewing leather. Shrimp gratin was in about a 1/4 cup of oil, was spice, over cooked and just disgusting!! Caesar salad came in with a closed plastic cup like I had just ordered from a chip stand and dressing was digusting. Clearly nothing at this restaurant is homemade. Ewe ewe ewe !! Server was great. Owner was extremely rude and clearly needs a dose from Gordon Ramsey on good food and customer service. Could not pay me to go back here. I had to add to this because I see the owner commented on my review complementing the food as though she is a customer. Wow! That's hilariously ridiculous! 😂😂😂 Get over yourself lady. You're not even 3.5 stars. That's terrible reviews!
Escargos gratine and surf and turf ! Amazing people working there great view and great food , will most definitely be back
I don't have anything negative to say. the most notable things: 1.They were the best margaritas I have had in Gatineau. 2.The waiter was really friendly and efficient, considering he was practically the only one in the restaurant for all the tables. 3.The view is very nice since the restaurant is facing the river. 4.I always pay attention to the condition of the bathrooms and I have to say that the bathrooms looked really clean and had a pleasant smell. we enjoyed the visit to the restaurant
Busy place on a Friday night. Service was okay. Had the bison burger which was really good. Usually I love sweet potato fries but not this time (dry and tasteless). Music was a bit boring and was loud, was hard to have a conversation. But I would still be willing to try again on a less busy night.
Good atmosphere and friendly decor, complete menu, generous portions, efficient and attentive service.
I was very disappointed with this restaurant despite the good reviews... my fish and chips were hard and dry (I had to cut it with a knife and fork...) it crumbled like dry shredded chicken: / I was never offered a discount when I mentioned. They even served us water in a soft plastic glass that could have overflowed when taken... we all asked for glass glasses! The music was too loud so we had to shout to understand each other. I do not recommend and I will not return either
The bee that flew in mouth which wasnt your fault certainly it memorable. Staff were amazing and a guest came running over with benedryl.
I love this restaurant...the music, the food, the service are excellent. Around 8 a.m. Michel and friends sing songs for several generations and some customers like me sing and dance. The view is beautiful over the river. Kid-friendliness: There is a great choice for children
We are told that the drinks menu is given first and then we receive the meal menu. We waited a long time for the meal menu and an eternity for our plates to finally have a meal of passable quality. I will not go to this restaurant again I prefer to spend my money on food that tastes good.
What I deplore is that he charges you for every coffee.
First time eating here. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Good food, good service. Have patience though, not saying theyre slow, but they are certainly not in a rush. Also, speaking French a bonus.
Excellent drink and nachos :)
I liked the restaurant, the food is good, the view of the river is magnificent!
A beautiful place. With a nice atmosphere. The service was long. Food is ok
Great river side restaurant, the ambulance is perfect. I had the Fish & Chips, the chips came as poutine. It was perfect.
Very nice and friendly restaurant. The view of the river is superb, beautiful large terrace where the atmosphere is festive. The welcome is warm despite the large number of customers on a Saturday evening. The service is impeccable, I have been there more than once and we are always well served. The food is good and the portions are generous. In addition, the owners are on site and ensure the proper functioning of their restaurant. Well done Pirate. Roxanne
My spot since always. Everything is good
Located opposite the river, this place is very friendly with a lovely atmosphere. We were well advised on the different dishes. Prices are reasonable.
Excellent!
Good place for relaxed dining in summer.
Stopped in to use the washroom before attending a boat rental anniversary party. Top notch urinal. Otherwise the place seemed great. Maybe next visit Ill try ordering food or just use the stall. Who knows, ADVENTURE AWAITS
The Pirate restaurant has existed for several years and I have never been disappointed with the food, the atmosphere, the landscape and the service.
Be careful if you come across the owner if he had a few drinks, he has no class and very disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and avoid by all cost going there. It s really not worth it.
Service was great, portions were small. Friendly staff and great view of the river
We went for dinner on 2 occasions, 1. Takes forever to be served. 2. Takes forever again to have your meal afterwards. We were a party of 6. 3. Once you get your meal, the food is ok not more. Pasta really undercooked all bunched up together and hard, Caesar salad not washed properly, grilled smoke meat sandwich never have I had before and never again. Really doesnt tastes the same. They push you for tip, at least we were. And we always tip??? The only thing thats really nice is the view of the river. Will not return. For the amount of money we spent and our family too, well go spend it somewhere else. Parking: You have to walk a distance after you park, its a little walk.
Good place for bikers as its right on the path! Beer is cold! Food is decent and price well! Food
If it wasnt for the view of the water and the smiles and kindness of the staff this place would not survive. The food is not good at all :( It was our first time visiting, after much anticipation, they are always busy, which surprised us for having such horrid food. Nachos were meh, but the Lobster, was priced great, but they left the TOMALLEY (p00p of the lobster) inside!!!!! YUCK. I couldnt believe it, I have NEVER been served a lobster with the tomalley, anyone and everyone who knows food knows that can be poisonous! I am pretty sure that is a health violation. Never ever ever going back. Pas bon!
Great experience with my young children and my husband. The atmosphere is wonderful, the view of the quays and the terrace are breathtaking. The pina colada made me think I was in the south. The decoration is superb and really very pirate-like. The shrimp en papillotes were incredibly good. We loved it! Kid-friendliness: Yes, it s a great family restaurant.
We had the fish and chip was amazing. Great place
Wonderful views and activities on the Ottawa river. Great atmosphere. Food very good and reasonably priced. Love going here and sitting on the patio during the summer months.
Not a bad find on a rainy day. Waitress just. seemed like we were pissing her off. It was just me. But I got that vibe
This place is awesome the food the service everything is top notch...bad reviews are just those type of people..I own a business its hard to please everyone especially when you are busy as they are
Crazy slow and small amount of food. Would go elsewhere
(English below) Ohh boy . How to describe this unpleasant experience? We were really looking forward to discovering this restaurant, but what a disappointment. After being seated at our table, we had to wait more than 30 minutes to receive a menu and water. Subsequently, after TWO hours of waiting, we decided to leave, as we still had not received our food. In the end, the food wasnt THAT bad (with two hours of waiting in my body all the same). If only the owner would focus on running his restaurant well and not on singing obnoxious karaoke, I have no doubt that Pirate could be a respectable place. - Ohh boy.... Superb place to have a drink, the food is very good and the portions are still good
Agathe and Michel are great. Delicious food, and an atmosphere that can be found on restaurant terraces in the Laurentians (St-Sauveur). The view of the shore makes you feel like a tourist in your own city.
Really disappointed, my friend was choked and instead of giving him water, asking him if he was okay, the owner loudly ordered us in front of everyone to change sections and installed us in a section alone as if we were germs, we expressed our dissatisfaction and his wife came to apologize without more or less. However our waitress was very nice. As for the food, well its just ordinary not bad but wow either.
The best place
The food was tasteless for the most part. The nachos terrible, hard and not much going on flavour wise (salsa and guacamole had to be paid for extra). The burger could have easily passed for a McDonalds one. Dessert a failure. We ordered the classic creme brûlé and they put an awful and distasteful twist to it that turned it into a failure. The waiter was proactive and pleasant. Regarding atmosphere, beautiful river view but they had several TV screens playing music with inappropriate videos for kids. Overall we are not going back again. .
The owner is crazy, she yells at her employees. The food is good, but the service is very slow. There were three of us, we waited 50 minutes for our starters. I dont think Ill ever go back there.
Loved it, the food was excellent, and drinks are priced well.
Anne and I went and found everything excellent. We ate on the terrace which was pleasant. Go ahead, you wont be disappointed
Enchanting site on the banks of the Gatineau River. They should have more like this
Very nice, warm place, good food and very good service. Dont be afraid to say a nice hello to the owner Michel.
Good food and good cocktails, outdoor tables with a view of the river, beautiful festive atmosphere, particularly for sunny evenings. We will return
Disservice. It took two hours to get our plates. Starters are brought at the same time as the main meals. We are not offered drinks and dessert for the children even if included in the price. The waiter rarely brings water and rarely comes to the table. Not very smiling. The food is okay, nothing more. It even takes time to get the childrens meals when you order them in advance to get them faster. We wont come back again. Too bad because the view from the terrace is beautiful.
I m sorry to say but extra long long service. Had to ask the waitress for menus. ( other table had same issues ) Food less than average and overprice. Drink were over sweet like make with jello powder.
Friendly atmosphere, lovely warm welcome! Fast service! Great choice of menus! Beautiful terrace with view and music!
Superb place
Impeccable service and quality fish and chips
Im sorry to write this review.. but the service is EXTREMELY LONG, it took 2 hours before we could finally order, the waitress never asked us if we wanted to come in, came 1x for the drinks and after 2 hours of waiting she took our order... note that the restaurant was barely half full... for several times with this slow service... I wouldnt go back, really unpleasant, sorry.
Disposable plastic cups
The atmosphere was nice but thats all the kind words I have to say about this place.
Very good restaurant! Nice atmosphere
The owner has a big problem with judgment especially after consuming alcohol EXTREMELY unpleasant with customers no manners
11/10 fast, courteous and professional.
Good food, good and relax view to the river and good service. Will glad to find out about this area. Easily parking in the parc de la baie.
Horrible customer service! I couldnt even stand the treatment I received , I just left without even ordering any food. Never again I am taking a chance trying these restaurants without a proper review search. What a waste of time and awful experience.
It was nice! Great service....the lobster was amazing!
Excellent meal, very good service after we were assigned a table. On the other hand, long wait to get a table and have someone welcome us.
It was a very good experience our very young waitress make a big effort to help us even we do not speak French. She was super young, nice and polite.
I like their terrace, one of the most beautiful in Gatineau in my opinion with a view of the river. The food is very good and good value for money. Always good service. Nachos, burgers, and sandwiches are all excellent. I was also really surprised by the beef cheek, it melts in your mouth!
Tasty lobster and great ambiance being right next to the water. Their cocktails were really good too
I was on a paddle board. I stopped at the marina to be served a delicious beer. I received good service. It was pleasant, not many people there when I was there.
Good food, great location, relax and friendly staff.
The service is very slow, it took 45 minutes to bring our dishes, I did not like the service or the treatment. I felt a little discriminated against
The owner should let his staff do the service and interventions. After spending nearly $400, he bangs like crazy on the window. Please do not be present with your laptop and take your pills
Very good mocktail, super average food.
Beautiful moment with friends, on the beautiful terrace. Our efficient and smiling waitress. Owner who suggests affordable wines. I took the beef cheek and my partner the flank steak. Excellent. We promise to return there.
A very welcoming place with excellent service, good food, original and tasty cocktails and a beautiful view of the river. I suggest it to everyone. Parking: Small parking lot behind the restaurant. Must go through the street behind. About ten places.
We appreciated our waitress for the service and being attentive to our orders. On a hot day in the Summer like today, ice cold beer was much needed and refreshing. Nachos added the flavour. Location by the Ottawa River was a plus and live music made it a nice touch to the atmosphere too.
Good meal! Had the lobster- its expensive and not really worth it for a filling meal but worth it for the taste.
Dégeulase
Great view, nice atmosphere, great food and very good service. To try, salmon fillet and Spanish shrimp on your next visit!!!
Great, merci!
Seriously the best service! We met the owner and the chef and they are just great! A big thank you to our waitress who also offered us quality service! We ordered the fried squid and they are THE BEST IN TOWN!! I recommend 100% and we will definitely come back!
Awesome restaurant! Great service from the owner, very attentive and attentive to her customers! Our waitress Rosalie is very smiling and friendly! Thanks and see you next time!
It was absolutly fantastic. Thank you for the outstanding service. Greetings from Austria.
Always great service!! With smiling people always ready to serve us and advise us
Great place facing the Gatineau River, see you next time. I recommend it.
I had the excellent flank steak.
They need more help, service was louzy. I dont know if she (the server) was disappointed that we didnt order drinks instead of water but she came with a pitcher of water and slammed it on the table with plastic glasses. Didnt even pour the water. It was a friend of the owner that was there that helped out to clear the table. Was not impressed at all with the service
Horrible service, rained all over our food and table while waiters just watch us standing. they dont offer us any solutions until we propose to go inside. Mistake on the food orders and delays. Food was okay but overall experience a big 0.
Resto by the water but you are not allowed to Dress with swim top and go there, I had shorts and bikini top and I wanted to ask for take out and a Guy walk to me and Trow me out because I had bikini top, I find it very rude the way he approached, just because they have good location this place is busy sometimes.....
Relaxing in this cafe, you are like on a pirate schooner. Amazing interior... Great view of the river. Polite and caring waiters. Fast food service. Delicious and not expensive.
A very nice place and very good too.
Awesome place in Gatineau. Great food and amazing views. Good music too
We stopped by during a boat ride and it was a great experience. Many parking spots for the boat. Very friendly staff. The food was good and the atmosphere is really nice. We couldn t stay for the fireworks, but it looks like it is a great place to see it.
Very nice riverside restaurant bar. Good cocktails.
I love this warm place. What can we say about the excellent lobster bisque!!!
Very nice place but noisy! Average food...good service!
I ve been here several times now and never been disappointed with the food. Servers have always been fantastic and friendly. Great waterfront location with view of the water. Fun pirate theme with large section of virgin cocktail options. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair accessible.
We were 4 people that went for dinner, Service was good but food was pretty bad , nothing we had ordered was good . Won t be going back that s for sure.
Beautiful welcome, good service, food as good as ever, parking with boat dock. The best place in town. Parking: Several places and on the water for boats Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to access
The best fish and chips Ive had in a long long time. What makes it good is the whole filet used, you really get fish, unlike other places where you need to search for the fish among the batter. The batter was good, although not fluffy but rather flat and seemed a bit overcooked - there was a layer of uncooked batter against the fish. They can surely come up with a better batter recipe than capn highliner fish in a box. The price is a bit on the high side especially that the fries are few, and are frozen pre-made (probably Costco); the coleslaw came in a covered plastic receptacle as did the sauce. This fast food-truck like presentation of the plate does not warrant 23$ + drinks and tip. We also ordered a virgin mojito which was basically soda water or sprite with a few mint leaves and a slice of lemon, very sweet so there might have been some store bought syrup in it. This costs 6$ - a bit much for something slapped together without much care. The highlight was the service. Our server was fast, attentive, and polite. Ill probably go again, but not in the near future.
Three of us ordered hamburgers yesterday and are all suffering from food poisoning.
Awesome place used to go to his fathers next door for bait get ready for fishing then get a Picture with my partner before going fishing Parking: Very tight place a lot of houses not much parking easily parkable a little further and walking over.
Firstly, this small restaurant is very crowded with people, there is not much room to move around and all the customers speak very loudly. In addition, it takes a long time for the waitress to come and serve us. The only good thing I can say is that there is music and it s on the water s edge. And again, because of all the customers who are condensed and speak very loudly, the music only amplifies the song too much, which bothers us. In addition, there are not even many dishes (one side of the page for starters and the other side for normal meals), there are more drinks than meals. You have to add dishes! In addition, I wanted to change the fries in my dish for a simple salad, but she wanted to add an extra $4.50 to me to exchange it! And finally, I did not receive any water before waiting 20 minutes (the worms are made of plastic). To summarize, bad service, not very good atmosphere and the wait is absurd. Hire more staff, how could two servers do everything?
Had lunch at Le Pirate today with a friend. She had the smoked meat sandwich which was made with fresh rye bread, great fries and a generous glass of Pinot Grigio. I had the chicken quesadilla which had a nice kick, with the fries and also a generous glass of Pinot Noir. Food was warm and tasty. Our server Agathe was fantastic, attentive and very organized considering she was alone today. Well done. We saw many people having the soup of the day (squash and pumpkin) and they raved about it. Will not hesitate to return. The weather was fabulous, with a great view of the river. Merci!!!
Great food and staff. Beautiful views of the river and parts of the ambassasors residences.
We had a blast! The decor is so cool and the owners are very nice. Can t get a better view then this place. Right by the water and so much to look at. Spoke to both owners as they were working the floor, both super nice ppl. We felt very welcomed. Most importantly the FOOD is DELICIOUS! Certainly going back.
Foods are delicious. Great atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizza as well as a good gratinated onion soup.
We had a great experience in this restaurant with its unique and creative decor, which I loved. We chatted a bit with the owners and they were very nice! We only had soup and a drink, but we will definitely come back for a meal
Not enough Mexican food. Parking: Behind the building
I really like this place in the summer but in november its like the leaves on the threes going down till spring . I brought my sister there and i was very disappointed. Service, food portions and quality was really down.
Always a pleasure to go there even if the prices have increased and the portions have decreased. The service is always excellent!
... beautiful terrace when the weather is nice
Great experience at this restaurant. Very friendly atmosphere and good service
Great drinks,food and fun!
We went for dinner here tonight and shared the nachos with chicken and the calamari. The calamari was very good and the nachos were good. They put the salsa directly on the nachos which made them pretty soggy. But they made a very good spicy caesar and we had a slice of pecan pie and sugar pie for dessert and they were delicious. Overall, the excellent service by Amelie made up for the soggy nachos and well definitely be back. Important to note, if you want to sit on the patio, make sure to make a reservation.
Great patio, very friendly atmosphere, food was great as well!!!
Great food. Great service. The meal was delicious!
Best fish & chips in Gatineau.
Super nice evening Thank you :)
Drinks are garbage, food was disgusting, service terrible and expensive for what you get. Creepy owner sat in the corner staring. We waiting over 1h for 1 shared nacho and a kids plate of fries. Wouldnt recommend. Will never go back.
Food was bad service was bad not going back
(No pictures) Absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant. The friend I went with had been a couple of times before and ensured that the food was good. We ordered a bottle of wine, the chicken nachos and the spinach artichoke dip and omg was it ever good! They put the salsa directly on the nachos so they got a little soggy but the flavor was amazing. And don t even get me started on the dip honestly the best spinach dip I ve ever had. And I m that person that will get the spinach dip if they have it on the menu lol We sat on the patio, they had music going, we watched the boats on the water.. all in all.. amazing. And my husband then ate the leftovers when I got home. We ll be going back for date night soon!
The service was courteous and professional, the site was really good on the terrace with a beautiful view of the river, the food was just ok...Our context was that of a group of around 30 people. Reservation at 6:00 p.m. meal served at 8:30 p.m. Honestly 2h30 before having our meals was too long. If in a context where there is a lack of staff in the kitchen and for service, limit groups.
The waitresses are friendly. Very ordinary food (cheap bistro). But the height of the inconvenience is the attitude of the **owner**. The condescending and contemptuous tone in which he speaks to these customers. Reading the other comments, I understand that I am not the only one to have experienced a similar situation. I do not suggest anyone set foot in this establishment. Any other restaurant on the street will be a better choice.
Went here and not impressed at all. Order fish and chips me and girlfriend. Fish batter was way over cook and the fish itself was under cook. Was frozen fish since still had some frozen pieces of fish inside. Seems to be cooked in a microwave. Also the worst was the service at table. Only 1 waitress taking orders and it took almost 1 hour to get our lunch which was so disgusting to eat. Not blaming waitress since she was alone to work. Blaming the restaurant owner. Get more staff and have a new cook and better food to serve your customers. Not microwave food at a price of $25 for frozen fish and chips. Way over prices for the service and quality food. Waitress is a 4 star and restaurant is 1 star.
Very good meal, reasonable price and very beautiful view of the river.
Rather slow service, not very professional (probably due to lack of experience). The menu is a bit cafeteria but at the price of a good restaurant. I went with the base, a Caesar salad, which was brought to me with sauce in a separate little pot, which is quite... strange. The cocktails were only ok. On the positive side, the view is very beautiful. In short, I dont recommend the place, but its still OK if your expectations arent very high.
30 minutes to get a table; 1h30 to get our first plate. What insults me the most is receiving our main course at the same time as our starter. The food is quite ordinary and the prices are definitely higher than other restaurants on the same street in relation to the quality. There is a nice selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, but too sweet. In short, a first and certainly a last!
My partner and I loved our experience. Excellent food, great variety of drinks and great view of the Ottawa River. Good ambient music. We will definitely return there soon.
This place is right across the Ottawa river from the Rockcliffe Boat house, on the Quebec side. The view is fantastic and the atmosphere is quasi european. Ample parking at the back or one could come by watertaxi . Friendly bilingual staff. Prices a tad high for a noon meal but has a greal menu selection. A luscious and plentiful bowl of Mussels and two beers cost $47.00.
Just order drinks and you be ok.
The waiters so unwelcoming so mad when she give as the menu. Poor customer service
I was just here and as good and amazing as our brand new server was, the burger I had was absolutely terrible. I passed it around the table to make sure my taste buds were not off and everyone said it was bad. They then charged me for a large fry when the fries I had that I ate before even having a bite of the burger were equivalent to a small. I had to fight not to pay for the disgusting Burger I recieved and in the end with the extremely rude owner ended up walking out and just paying for the large fries because I was so frustrated after 15 minutes of back and forth. Would not recommend this place for food. The drinks are good though.
I liked the menu a little disappointed because when you look on the site the menu is complete and when you get there it is only half. but I really liked it, good service and pleasant.
Very well served
Call for a reservation and said they dont take reservation. Got there in person, and they were only taking people with reservation. They said after they dont take reservation for 2. So I guess its not a good place for a couple.
Nice location with views of the Ottawa River, Rockcliffe as seen from Point Gatineau. A little understaffed, but what restaurant isnt these days? Food was good.
Very slow service poor presentation of dishes Garoché shrimp on the plate and the main meal Poorly presented garlic shrimp
Waited for 20 min in the table and never received the menus.
Insulted by the restaurant owner upon arrival! 0 stars, worst welcome ever! Too bad I cant put 0!
Parking: Parking en bateaux...A 1
The owner was extremely rude upon our arrival in our boat . We parked where we had been told to park the last two visits . When we arrived to park the owner came to us with an arrogance and said we were lying about how we had parked there prior . He flat out told us we were liars . And he kept telling at us was that he was the owner and he was right and we were liars .. We have been there over ten times Brought friends and family . WE WILL NEVER GO BACK !!! and we will let everyone we know about our experience!
When we arrived at the dock, the OWNER greeted us by saying: I m the owner and you have no business parking there! These are the members! » Having already come to the restaurant twice, we were placed in the same place which was reserved for members . Continuing in his arrogant manner, he insulted us about how to dock. He told us that we knew nothing about boats because we had not put the ropes out of the boat in advance to dock. As if that wasn t enough, while talking to him, he told my mother: Stop spitting in my face. Because she spoke to him in a raised tone because she had gotten on his nerves. I understand that we should not go to dock at this point on the dock, or that we should put the ropes outside the boat before docking. But all things are said in a polite manner. Which he didnt do. We obviously left after he untied the boat ropes and said he was making sure we left. Wow! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT SUPPORTING A RESTAURANT OWNED BY SUCH A RUDE OWNER. His name is Michel Perif.
We ate fish and chips. The fish and chips arrived hot and very tasty. End of the evening with the lights of the Casino across the street
Quite ordinary. My Atlantic salmon dish was rather dry (overcooked) served with thawed overcooked vegetables and a pre-cooked rice pilaf... Fortunately, the view of the Ottawa River is beautiful though.
Lovely terrace area with some live music in the evenings with a great view of the river in front. They have a great selection of cocktails and drinks. The food menu is a little limited but the salmon is always good. Expect to wait a little for dinner since it is quite a popular place.
It took over an hour and a half to get our plates. We were a small group of 8 and had reservations. My scallop was literally burnt and dry. The chicken wings were undercooked and the fish was overflowing with fat. We will never go back there.
The owner of this restaurant needs help he is very aggressive towards clients
The owner...
Third time here, should have stopped at 2. If zero or negative stars were available, it would be an appropriate rating for Le Pirate. The service has always been slow but the unique atmosphere and food made it an acceptable fault. Unfortunately the third time is definitely NOT the charm and the night we invite another couple to join us (a Tuesday btw) is when the experience went from tolerable to completely incompetent. We ordered 3 appetizers, one for each my husband and I and one for our guests to share. My husband and I were served ours. We waited a bit and at our companys urging, tentatively started to eat our apps, assuming theirs would be along shortly. Halfway through we asked our server about their app and he assured us it was coming. We finished ours and another 30 minutes passed without their food coming, or any updates on it, offers for drinks or any acknowledgement whatsoever. In this time the table beside us received their main course. Completely disgusted by this time we decided to pay for what wed had and leave. When my husband went to the servers station to tell them we wanted to settle up and forget the rest of the order, we were then advised EVERYTHING was now ready. Relunctanlty we agreed to pay for it all and take it to go. We were not offered and apology nor any amount discounted on what ended up being an over two-hundred dollar order. To add insult to injury, we arrived home to find 2 out of the 4 orders wrong. Beyond disgusted, well not be returning to Le Pirate. Stuff happens, I get it... but its how you resolve it that matters. Le Pirate made it clear to us that we didnt matter as valued customers.
Eric served us. Excellent and fast service. Excellent food, a perfect evening.
Beautiful place on the waters edge, great atmosphere, lovely welcome. However, 2 hours of waiting to receive our cold meal and a small portion for the very high price. I recommend this restaurant for a drunken 5 to 9 with friends with nachos!!
We went on boats with friends. The waitress very nice. We were very poorly received by the owner. Ordinary menu and very $$$ for the quality. As soon as it was finished we had to leave the dock....very nasty comments from the owner. Last time I set foot there. And I dont recommend it to anyone.
Bad service (even if the waitresses are friendly, there are not enough of them and we wait a very long time - more than 40 minutes to place our order), we are served in plastic glasses, and the food really has nothing to offer. exceptional.
We went here for a family dinner of 4 arriving at 7pm, where we not only had to wait 1 hour and a half but we didn t even end up receiving our meal while we were seated. We decided leaving because they didn t give us the appetizers all together and after half of us finished our appetizers without the other half receiving anything we wanted to leave. They said our food was ready but at this point we were so disappointed with the service that we took the food to go at no discount. When we took the food home, not only were they undercooked, cold and soggy but they had forgot an entire meal. We will not be going back here and we ve told all our friends to avoid this place at all cost. A waste of time and horrible service.
Food was barely edible. The servers did not look happy to be there. Older crowd. We went cause they have a boat dock you could only use if you went there exclusively. We wanted to have a sampler at a brewery a few doors down after and they said we d have to move the boat - and ours was the only one there.
Very good meal, but the service is poor it took a good 30 minutes before the waitress came to bring us the cocktail menu. And then it took a good 30 minutes before she brought us the menu of dishes and then it took a while before she came to take our order. And we had finished drinking our cocktails and the waitress didnt ask us if we wanted something else to drink.
Nice place
Love it . Nice view of the lake , well situated. Parking: There are parking space very close and you and it is a a walking distance Kid-friendliness: They have a menu for kids
Lovely place with delicious food! Cute decor in line with the name and the water view. The server was kind, but they did not have a menu in English, nor could explain the menu questions in English. Someone came at some point to take our salt and pepper without a word. A bit inadequate service. However the food! Whatever we tried was delicious, but most praise should be given to the beef. It was absolutely perfect! We had it grilled and slow cooked, and it was tender and juicy. Compliments to the chef! I should have taken photos of the plates, but we were too enthusiastic to dig in.
Unfortunatly all the wasps made is very unpleasent.
Our meal was tasteless We had beef cheeks with vegetables Overcooked and flavorless vegetables Tasteless meat The garlic shrimp is very poorly presented and without any taste I do not recommend this restaurant Very disappointed
Havent had Coquille St. Jacques in a looong time. Very casual atmosphere with a great view and service.
Nice place, friendly people Awesome decoration Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options but, still worth it
Very good view of the waters edge. Arrive by boat and am happy. With a family of 4. Good service and nice atmosphere. I recommend.
Good food, pretty quick service!
Welcoming good service ate well thank you to the whole team
We went there with 6 people: very fatty smoked meat, fries that tasted like fish all in a handful on a motorbike, mussels full of sand... $300 thrown in the trash! It was a first and it will be a last
We had a nice iced beer with zucchini starters and delicious dip with the chicken quesadillas plate with fries. The fries are crispy and delicious and the quesadillas also delicious. Service and courtesy with a smile we had an excellent evening
Beautiful place
Good atmosphere
I was there one evening, for my first time at an office party.. the food was very good and Claude the singer knew how to create a great atmosphere... thank you Claude.. I recommend this place
Good service, but the food was very ordinary for 3 out of 4 people. I had the shrimp plate and everything was disappointing.
Food was great. Welcoming staff but unfortunately we waited over 1 hour to get our main course. Music was way too loud, we could barely hear eachother. Not going to return or suggest the place.
We really liked it. The owners and staff are really kind, courteous and welcoming. The place is really charming and perfect to end with a walk on the waters edge.
Very good music, the singers did a very good job. Excellent service. Good food
