This shawarma is so amazing, I am genuinely happy if I forgot to pack a lunch. Absolutely miles better than any restaurants in the food court of Place du Centre. Both the plates and sandwiches are great - you can't go wrong!
Came here because of the high reviews, after having my meal I must say this place is overrated. Don't get me wrong it's locally owned and the people are friendly. But the shawarma itself is pretty average, the potatoes weren't that good at all, some pieces I had were still raw in the middle. Service is a tad slow but that's fair. Honestly it's just like your average local neighborhood shawarma spot and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not a 5 star shawarma, not even close.

And let me tell you about their spicy garlic option—it's a game-changer! I'm usually not one to go for the extra kick, but trust me, their spicy garlic sauce is a must-try! My go-to order is the Large Mix Trio, and it never disappoints. The beef and chicken are bursting with flavor, the veggies are always fresh, and the potatoes are perfectly cooked—never greasy, always satisfying. If you're in the area, La Joie Shawarma is a must-visit. You won't regret it!
Second visit. Food is fresh and tastes ok, but chicken is not as crispy as other places I tried. Also, prices are not clearly indicated anywhere so it’s mainly a verbal menu upon request, which doesn’t really leave you time to decide. 3 size of plates are available and what you see here is the biggest one.

Tiny plate for 12$. Taste is ok, I like the tabuleh, but can’t get over the fact that I have to buy another lunch. Has to be 60g of chicken max, about 40g potatoes. Max 1 tea spoon of humus. You can do better. No one should be hungry after a shawarma platter.

This Shawarma is the best in Ottawa / Gatineau. The food is always super fresh, they use white meat for the chicken. The food leaves you wanting more. The price is excellent as well. I can get a chicken plate with a drink for $17 , where other places are charging over 22$ and the food is bad. Good job guy!
Just dropped in on my way home because I needed hummus to serve tonight for my friends. Very friendly guy who offered a drizzle of olive oil and hot sauce. The hummus was very creamy, smooth, and delicious! I will be back in the near future to try some of their plates! Bonus: On departure, he said Nice to see you today.
I dont leave reviews unprompted often, but this deserves one. This is one of the best shawarmas Ive had in a very long time, and Ive had hundreds of them around the Ottawa region. The chicken was juicy, the sauces were very well balanced and the veggies were fresh making the shawarma a perfect 10/10. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! The gentleman was very kind and friendly as well which was the cherry on top.

The chef-owner is super friendly and his Shawarmas are delicious. The service is personalized and the food is fresh. Good value for money. The service can be a little long but its well worth the wait. I go there at least once every 2 weeks and often even every week.

Ottawa has a lot of good places to go for shawarma. This is one of best on this side of the river. I am a regular and I am never disappointed. The portions are a little smaller than most shawarma houses but the price and quality more than makes up for it.

These guys make me miss working at Portage sometimes. I try and go anytime I have an appointment there now but not often enough sadly! Anyway, they try very hard, are extremely courteous/kind and professional, and the quality of product - and this is in the NCR, the best Canadian city for shawarmas as it is - stands out from any other I frequent. Maybe its their flatter-than-average press or more thorough cooking of the wrap, i dont know. Just one little example of this service was one day the gentleman offered us fresh potatoes if we waited 5-10 mins, or the choice of the ones already there right away. Shows how they put quality and customers first. Bon courage to you two, thank you.

I go here for shawarma whenever I am in the area. My favorite shawarma because its just really good, the customer service is A1 and the price is right. Theyve got their garlic sauce down to a science and the ingredients are always fresh.
Good prices, great service and tasty food. Theyve got some sauces most other shawarma places dont have as well as chickpea salad that tops very well on a falafel sandwich.

I keep going 4 times a week Best chicken, meat , garlic and homemade hummus! I work in the buildings accross the street, it s the only place I trust eating at. Everything is good if you go during lunch everything is fresh love it! Very clean. Yes! Totally recommend
Place closes at 4pm on weeknights and not open on weekends. I understand the concept of attending the lunch crowd but this is just ridiculous for a restaurant not in a food court.

This is the best Shawarma Ive ever had. The two guys who work here are incredibly kind, and good at handling long lineups at lunch time. The portions are generous (get the Shawarma plate, you wont be disappointed). And the food is so flavourful and fresh tasting. My favourite lunch Ive ever been.

It is much better than the old. Less salty and spice. It makes this option more enjoyable. In the area this is the best shawarma option where you can get a sandwich for 5$ and a medium plate for 8$.
During my co-op placement at Phase IV Id go here at least once a week. Great guys working there and its the best chicken schwarma in the area. The ingredients are fresh and their potatoes and garlic are fantastic.
