Decided to order 5 boiled suppers today for the family. Very very disappointed with the meals we received for our takeout. The cabbage, potato, carrots and turnip were all very hard, almost like not cooked enough. The only thing that was actually editable was the meat. What a big waste of money todays supper was, not sure if I will ever come back to this restaurant. The use to be awesome, maybe a bad say, but a expensive day for me when it couldnt be eaten, very disappointed. Mike

Stopped on our drive for the all day breakfast. Place is small and every table was full. Service was quick and friendly. Breakfast was tasty. Eggs were cooked perfectly to order . Bottomless hot coffee.

We went in yesterday because I seen their good food on Facebook. We had a great intro as we stood in line and great people to talk to. Got our table and went to eat which the waitress explained what was popular since it was our first time. Then as time went on 6-8 people received their meals before we did. I began to feel they were purposely doing this based on my race. Then when I received my meal my eggs were over cooked and the hashbrowns weren t the ones I ordered. It just seemed like it was on propose. Didn t completely ruin my day but kinda felt bad that we still get treated this way

My mom and i love the food best food in town

I always loved collets but today was not fit for my dog. Whole meal was cold. Even asked for gravy to try and heat it up but that also was cold. Never ate any of it and was still charged.

My meal was fantastic,and delicious. I cant wait to go there again.

Colettes has the best breakfast on the Island! I drive 48km (37 minutes travel time) with my girlfriend to come and enjoy their delicious food! I love their Meatless Breakfast! They have many vegetarian options, It is clean and inviting, with local art hung on their walls. If I could them a Michelin Star, I would! Its worth the travel! Come and enjoy Colettes Family Restaurant!

It took about 45 minutes to get our order. Wasnt crazy busy so not sure why. People came in behind us ordered, got served, ate and left before we got out stuff. Me and my buddy both ordered clubhouse and fries. Barley any meat on the sandwichs. Pretty bad after waiting 45 minutes. My other buddy did enjoy him chicken quesadilla though.

Really slow service. 40 to 45, you get it and its just mediocre. As you wait other customers come in order, eat, and leave. Nothing special at all. I have heard good things and maybe it was a bad night but we were not impressed at all. I most likely will not be back. Hopefully others have a better experience.

Greg and I have been meaning to go here for a year, mostly because the parking lot was always full, and we had heard good stuff. We went today and it did not disappoint. Bright, clean, cheerful, and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. We will be going there again for sure.

What a gem of a place. .The food is amazing in flavour and presentation. Their all day breakfast is so delicious and cooked and prepared to perfection. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are so happy and friendly. They are always smiling which gives the whole eating experience an added joy. I went there with one friend and have returned three additional times with other friends. I literally.cannot say enough about this charming little restaurant. I shout out to Bertha, Darlene and Jayden. These woman are awesome.

The food was decent, but none of it came out at the same time. Our waitress seemed to avoid the table, we placed our order, got our drinks then waited an hour for the first bit of food, another 20 minutes later a poutine we were missing came out. Wings were cold, and I never did get the sauce Id asked for and she was never around for me to ask or remind. It was my first time there, and I cant see myself going out of my way to go back. The bathroom was horrid, I couldnt even use it- I just washed my hands and left. Full bin of soiled paper towel (some with feces), a mold buildup on a cover below the sink and a thick layer of dust on the toilet. I wish I could see the hype, but it was a bit disappointing.

Staff was great and friendly. We had potato skins, deluxe burgers and my son got deep fried ice cream. There should be photos of our potato skins, with some we had already eaten along with a picture of the deep fried ice cream with caramel sauce. Will be returning for sure.

We went to Colette s restaurant to try the festive poutine that people rave about as it was on the show you gotta eat here. The poutine was terrible there was very little turkey in it almost non existent and next to no gravy. I don t know if it was the time of evening we went or they ran out of turkey but it was just terrible. I can t say we will ever be coming back here we are very disappointed. That just ruined our entire experience.

I would rate this Restaurant a 5 ,we had a family gathering there to celebrate my mother inlaws birthday she passed few weeks ago ,when I called to make reservation ( we really wanted to go here ,it was one of my mother inlaw fav restaurants ) lady my hubby spoke to said they did not do reservations we told her it would be for 20 ppl she said I call u back within 15 mins we heard back and it was a go . We were even able to bring our own birthday cake for dessert that was my mother inlaw favorite . Waitress was awesome and food was excellent . I highly recommend them Thank you staff and owner for accommodating us . Karen McIntyre and family .

Very busy

Food is delicious. Service is not good. The last 3 times we went the food was great, the service is mediocre at best! Today when we went was the last time. 3 bad experiences in a row and I am done. After ordering drinks and food, they didnt bother to bring drinks OR utensils until AFTER our food was already out, we ordered breakfast, not finger foods. Why order drinks first if they cant be bothered to bring them. Rather than coming to the table when we needed something they ignore for daily customers. We had to walk to the counter many times just to get a straw or a fork or anything.

Friendly staff, fast service and great food. You must try the Festive Poutin. Its a Christmas dinner year round.

After a rather disappointing day attempting to drive Cabot Trail through rain, fog, and miserable weather, this little diner really cheered me and my family up. We felt like we got a true taste of the Cape Breton lifestyle when we visited this place. It was recommended to us by the lovely lady in On Paper Books, and I have to say, she was spot on! The food was delicious and wonderfully priced, the people were so much fun, and we got to talk to some of the colourful locals that call the area home. An overall excellent experience! Parking: It was a busy time when we arrived so parking wasnt the easiest, but we were still able to get spots in the small parking lot accompanying the diner. Wheelchair accessibility: Several tables had movable chairs to allow access for wheelchairs.

Great food. Home made fries are awesome. Fam had the hot hamburger, roast beef, shrimp platter and seafood platter. Finished off with deep fried ice cream. All excellent but will definitely try the club next time as it looked awesome.

Had our food delivered paid almost $40 for 2 people, when we started to eat it it was mostly cold or just slightly warm. We ate some, basically enough to take the hunger away then we tossed the rest in the garbage. It will be a long time before we order from here again. Waste of money....

Best omlettes around

Weve been coming to Colettes since it opened, and have never been disappointed in their food or service. Not to mention comfortable, cozy atmosphere. Absolutely the best restaurant in the area for home cooked meals away from home.

Good food ,excellent service. Where else can u get 3eggs,hashbrowns, toast and 4 meat ,bologna,ham,bacon and sausage for $9.99. Such a deal I go every chance when Im in Glace Bay

Sabina Mugford Just got the fishermans platter, they had no clams and were to replace them with additional shrimp. I received a small piece of overcooked fish it was very dry, 2 scallops, 3 shrimp, and carrots, more carrots than fish. at a cost of 22 dollars 23 with the tip. I didnt get chips and asked for a small garden salad.

Not sure why such high reviews. I like to support small business, but wasnt happy my food orders. Find pricey for what get. Order veggie sandwich, no meat or anything.. $10 seems a bit much lol. Quality of food isnt there, could definitely be better, for price spent here, could of ate at organic restaurant.. Which is at least healthy, not recommended myself, Im from Ontario.. Maybe Im picky.. Lol.. But I know good quality and food should be.. And spent too much for delivery.. No syrup incl for pancakes even.. Good had my own.. Not like to complain.. But expect a bit better quality for price was charged.

We tried this place for a home style meal while in the area. Steak and eggs were good. Scallops and fries were ordered. Fries weren t cooked well but was offered more. Appreciate making it right. I would recommend this clean establishment.

The food was great but the service was terrible.

Dropped in after a visit to the miners museum (also very worth the visit). I ordered the festive poutine as it was showcased on Food Network. Turkey, Turkey gravy, stuffing was very different. Fries were done very well, thicker cut and crisp. Family had the pan fried haddock. Prices very reasonable and home cooking best describes the experienced. Service was very good and attentive.

Great spot to eat. My wife and I both had the fish and chips. It was cooked to perfection. Flaky white fish with a thin crispy batter. Service was fast and friendly. While we waited for our food I noticed the phone never stopped ringing. Take out orders were coming in as fast as they could write them down. I took this to be a good sign and I was right. If you want good food at a reasonable price (and who doesnt) youre looking in the right place.

Very tasty breakfasts! They offer Bologna as one of the meats, and I dont have to tell you how important that is if you live in Cape Breton.

The food is very simple. The mashed potatoes have no flavour, the carrots are over boiled and come from a frozen package, the fish tastes like it was frozen, the scallops/shrimp/clams are all frozen and fried. I would not recommend.

A few of us stopped here while on an interprovincial motorcycle trip. The place was recommended by some locals as post restaurants were closed due to post covid staff problems. I first want to mention how friendly the staff were...even exceeding Cape Breton standards. The were daily specials but we were too late so I missed my feed or corn beef and cabbage. However, the fish and chips were excellent as were all the other selections we had. Food was up in a reasonable time and staff were attentive. There were outside tables but we chose inside seating. The place was very clean and seating was comfortable. The a/c was a welcome relief on a hot day. Parking was a little tight was manageable. In summary, a lovely, friendly family style restaurant whos friendly staff served great food for a reasonable price.

This place is absolutely incredible. Unbeatable service and hospitality , great prices , and some of the best food weve ever had. We spent 4 days in Glace Bay on an East Coast road trip from Ontario to Halifax and ate here every single day. It was definitely our favorite restaurant of the entire 2 week trip. All meals were amazing!! We will be back for sure!

We went here because a local recommended it and it was featured on You Gotta Eat Here for its fish and chips so naturally we ordered fish and chips. They were very fresh but really somewhat bland for flavor and served a bit lukewarm. The staff were very friendly. It is a small, local diner.

Beautiful atmosphere and a delicious hot meal

I got the lobster roll and potato chips. The lobster bun was about a handful of lobster put on a toasted hot dog bun. No flavor no nothing...I wasnt impressed with it. If you get the box of fries and think they will taste as good as the chip wagon, think again.....Wont be re-ordering this meal.

Very small place. Food was Ok. I got the burger and home made fries. Burger was good nothing special. But the fries were way over cooked. My otherhalf got the Thai bowl.... it Looked and tasted like the microwave bowls you buy at Walmart. Frozen vegetables with barely any chicken. And to much sauce. Was pretty disappointed. Considering this place had good past reviews.

One of the best restaurants around town! A variety of meals will melt your heart. My personal favourite is body builders omelette, absolutely delicious! The servers are polite.
