Best wings in town friendly staff great service
I went there with my spouse and it was our first dining experience in Glacebay as we moved from Ontario. The ladies working there were too rude especially the one who was wearing red glasses. We ordered popcorn chicken there and it was beyond salty and no one was agreeing . We let taste with our friends too thought that it might us only thinking every one said same and they said that’s why the whole batter was. It was so salty that u can throw up after that. We did not taste it , we did not take it even with us and they still charge us. They were not even apologetic and empathetic . Pathetic customer service and awful experience . Worst taste ever, the worst part they were not agreeing and over powering us with their over confident language . We will never recommend to anyone and worst experience !
Last time we will ever order from this place. A few months ago we ordered delivery and was told it would be around 40 minutes. It ended up being close to 3 hours. Refused the food at the door, and called them to say why. Woman who answered was rude, and told us it was just made before it was sent out. Ignoring the fact that I called her numerous times already while waiting, and she told me the food was finished and waiting for the delivery driver. 2 hours prior to me calling this time. We decided to give this place another shot, and ordered a 2-piece snack & the XL Pizza with 20 Wings combo. Got here in a decent time, but they forgot to send the wings. When we called them, the woman who answered was very rude, going as far as to call us liars, saying they were sure they sent it. After insisting that they did not send it, and that the bag they sent the 2-piece snack in wasnt even large enough to fit anything else in, they finally sent it. Additional 40 minute wait to get our full order. I can understand if it's busy and a mistake was made, but calling your paying customers liars is unacceptable.
Nice place and delicious food, we tried the fried chicken combo and it was good. Should have reduced a bit of salt in the chicken. But I will again go there ❤️
Was my first time at the Sydney River location and giving the staff 5 full stars. As a new business opening up, there's bound to be hurdles as far as timely service is concerned and had to wait for an extended period of time however, I'm giving props to the girls behind the counter. They were fantastic in running the operation and made sure everyone was served to the best of their abilities. The chicken beats anything served at any other locations by the way. Be patient and order ahead of time if you're in a rush. It's worth the wait.
Just ordered the hot chicken sandwich from the chicken shack in Glace Bay, it was the most disgusting meal I had ever gotten, ordered gravy on the fries, there was that much gravy that the fries were soggy, the sandwich was pieces of scrap chicken over it and full of grizzle was that salty that I couldn’t eat it. That’s my last order from there it was totally disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all the meal went into the green bin
Love this place. Portions are great! Onion rings: best around! Southwest potato skins: huge portion and extremely tasty! Not good if you’re on a diet! Lol pic below. hero sub: huge! Very tasty! Food is great, but the service is awful every time I order something from delivery they always forget something . and by the time they bring it to me I have already eaten my food they do not compensate for their mistakes.

Food has risen in cost greatly yet the food itself has gotten worse. Fully loaded nachos did not have the bbq sauce on them as advertised. Looked as tho a toddler put the food together. Over all bland. Take out order had no Napkins in it. Paid almost 80 dollars for 2 appetizers and 2 kids pizzas. Only good thing was kids were happy.
Clucky Cones is not accessible for those using a wheelchair. The door to the chicken shack does not have a power door and you are not allowed to access ice cream through the restaurant.
Chicken is to die for. Always busy spot in the bay to get good food. My son lives in Halifax and every time he is home we have to get a big feed of this for him. A vist back home wouldnt be complete without Chicken Shack for supper. A+

Ordered food, waited 2 hours for it, when it came it was discustinly soggy. Like to the point the fries and nuggets smushed in my fingers. Called them back and they sent me a new order. But still waited about another hour or so for new food and when it arrive it wasnt as soggy but it wasnt hot and it was grose, not to mention i paid 17 dollors for nuggets and fries. So iuno if it was delivery guy and took to long or if it was on the resturants part but i will never order take out again.

Their food is fantastic, everything we have gotten their was excellent, spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread, Yum, their pizzas are excellent, dont forget the donair sauce lol. You name it they got it and its always great takeout food.

We just moved to Glace Bay and knew about the Chicken Shack from the vacation that caused us to move here. Really good food, great customer service, and while it wasnt the reason we moved here, my partner said it factored in there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

When you try and call you can never get through there lines always off the hook and most times your fries are over cooked or cold and today we called to put in a order and was told they were sold out of chicken I mean ok sure it happens but why not say that when they answer the phone.
Poor service owner was rude very aggressively spoken and would not fix mistakes was told Id be put in for it to be fixed days later when gotten that day . Was cold and soggy and had steel wool baked in it in it choking hazard.
Bad owner. Irresponsible & immature. Doesnt take responsibility for her restaurants neglectful actions. ( cross contamination, forign objects in food ). Health and safety flaws. Always has a smart remark to bad reviews.

Fish and chips, 1 piece, 3 x 3 piece of frozen fish, burned fries. Was not asked if I wanted milk or cream with coffee, too expensive for what was on the plate. Place was clean and inviting, but did not like what I ordered.

Fried chicken. Breading is thin, good flavor and not too salty. Decor and atmosphere on the bargain side. Good price for what it is. Chicken is not uniformly cooked. Each of my 3 pieces were different amounts of doneness though it was 3 good rib pieces. Membertou still better and A&K best in area.

Waited 15 extra minutes over the 20 they said it would take for chicken because they said they put fresh chicken on, only to get home with cold chicken that had no flavor and cold fries and onion rings. Not worth the $36 and 35 minute wait sorry
