A nice surprise! The reviews are very negative about this restaurant and we discovered the complete opposite of what is mentioned. The General Tao is excellent, just as good as the Sesame Fried Beef. Truly one of the best we have eaten. The atmosphere is good, the only thing missing is Asian music to be perfect. The prices are very reasonable, a plus. A favorite for us!!!

Its extremely rare that I give a bad rating, but Ill explain. First, I ate at this restaurant with my family, and I also ordered at another time on DoorDash. Unfortunately, it was the same experience, which confirms my opinion. From the outside, the name is appealing who doesn t love General Tao? and the restaurant is cute. The menu is on the high end of prices but there is plenty of choice. The service is fast, nothing more. There was no music in the restaurant, which created an uncomfortable silence, but hey, thats a detail. The problem lies with the food. We ordered a large mixed table, so several dishes. The wonton soup was good but lacked a bit of flavor, easy to fix. The egg rolls, egg rolls and fried dumplings were good. Then the main courses arrived. Unfortunately, two of the three dishes lacked flavor...not bad, but tasteless. The real problem is General Tao, the dish the restaurant is named after. Ive tasted it twice now, and both times it was really, really bad. Almost only breading, no meat, tastes like old oil, and the sauce is not good at all We informed the waiter, who said it was a bad batch, but remember I Tried this dish two weeks apart, and both times it was not good. So. I think the concept is good, the atmosphere can easily be improved, the service can be more attentive, but they definitely need to review their recipes and add authentic and typical flavors of this cuisine. If this is done, they can have great success!

We ordered and we really felt like eating good Chinese. Well, if you want blended dishes without flavor, rice that is undercooked and a block of general tao chicken (yes, you had to take the motton out of the dish in a block because it was frozen) Well, this is the right place. For $60 we would have a luxury meal with the maximum frozen meals compared to that. never again

There is no chicken in the chicken rice. And Tonkinese soup has no taste. I understand that the water in the city is unfit for consumption. But a bottle of water would have been appreciated. Especially with dry rice and a leaf of salad without dressing

Still quite empty so the atmosphere is quiet, the food is delicious and the employees are courteous all the same. The combos at the back of the menu for several people are the best deals.

RestaurantGenerale Tao Granby Very disappointed with the service and food. We made a reservation 2 weeks ago but when we arrived, no reservation had been made. The cold food and the noodles seemed to be in plastic with no sauce, 15 minutes later he brought us a cold sauce which should have been in it, he told us that he gave us 2 sauces and it was our fault. he charges us 2 supposed love nests $50.00. Chinese food, wife could eat this every day. We come weekly, for take out order. You figure we come for pick up quite often, and receipt is between 50 to 70$, that we would get more than three fortune cookies!!

A place that pleasantly surprised us. Reading the reviews we were skeptical. The quantities are gigantic and the food is very good. We will go back next year. The waitress was alone, dont blame her. The service was good nonetheless. The cleanliness was a little to be desired but given the number of people in the restaurant and the small staff it is understandable that there were a few crumbs here and there on the bench or on the floor.

The waitress doesnt even explain to us that we have a choice of soup. She brings Won ton soup by default, I explain to her that I dont like this soup to change it to hot and sour. She says sorry but I poured it into a bowl so it s too late, you should have told me first. I replied: you did not tell me my choices before placing the order. Very bad waitress who doesnt know customer service. She is ready to lose customers just for soup!!!

We ordered combo #4 for 2 people, absolutely all the food was super dry, the sauces tasted strange (chemical aftertaste...), there wasnt even any chicken in the chicken fried rice, the general Tao looked undercooked etc. I really dont recommend this restaurant, I wont go back there. I can get 5x better for less at the other Chinese restaurant in Granby.

Tonkinese beef soup, The beef was very dry, the soup was low in meat despite me paying for extra. And there was no variety of foods, very basic broccoli, onion.... its really not the Tonkinese soups that I have eaten all my life in Montreal. Im not going back there again, first and last time

The spicy auger soup is disgusting, too sweet and when we make the comment to them they dont even agree to change the soup. You have to believe that customer satisfaction and service no longer count for anything today. In this case there are other Asian restaurants quite a bit better than this place so cross it off my list. Finally had to pay for the soup and cancel the rest of the meal and they did nothing really independent.

Never again! The waitress had probably never had any training in serving as well as cleaning tables. I had to ask her to wash the table which was all sticky with dirty utensils before she took our order. The food was definitely not good, not to mention disgusting. I had a sesame beef dish, and my partner had a general tao. The rice was dry and crunchy. The beef pieces were mushy and the sauce was the same as the egg rolls. And I could go on...

Problem with the order so we take the trouble to call to understand and they tell us who they are trying to call us and that the number does not work (wrong, I checked and my number is correctly transcribed) we take the trouble to ask if we could make a change and in the end we get the line hung up on us having been respectful. In addition to the rolls tasting like cheap frozen products. Bad service and really questionable food. Its not the first time Ive ordered on Doordash and your menu is confusing. Im from Quebec but we were passing through for a visit to the zoo and this place is the perfect option to end a long day of walking and please everyone (adults and children)! When we next visit here we will definitely come back.

Really poor service, we waited forever before getting the menu, taking our order and being served. We had to ask for water many times. And the food was really very ordinary. The waitress even made a mistake on our bill.

This evening, Sunday June 12, we ordered No. 6 for 2 for the first time! I give 1 star for the speed of delivery. For the rest: -9 stars; I explain: Rice was sticky and looked like couscous and it tasted so-so! The Cantonese chowmein looked like ramen noodles, the general tao meat, spicy dumplings.. All that to say that I even called them to tell them of my dissatisfaction... We threw everything in the trash!!!!I dont will never order there again! Yuck!

Very slow service. The waiter was probably alone. Only one cook in the kitchen too, to see the rate at which the dishes come out. The server was constantly lost. Long wait just to place the order, several customers even left the room before being able to order. Deplorable table service, we had to ask for water several times, asked for plates to eat... Chinese dish passable for a Chow Mein, very salty on the other hand. Thai dish to completely remove from the menu. The Tom ka gai soup tastes like gastric reflux and the chicken curry was really too spicy. I do not recommend this restaurant even though it is right next to a hotel lobby.
