Cantine Ben La Bedaine in Granby

This is the second time Ive been there, the first I didnt really like the poutine which lacks cheese and the sauce is very ordinary and bland. So I tried a burguer secondly and I was also very disappointed for the price. Its really ordinary, we do just as well at home. Its disappointing like the uniform and the place itself with the sign, it remains very pleasant as a physical place, but I wont stop there anymore as there are better elsewhere

Disappointed a little, the hot dogs were cold and the Poutine sauce was not the best I have tasted.

Quick service, the poutine was good but I didnt think it was the best, I took a minced meat poutine with cooked onions, I was disappointed with the quantity of meat received at the price of the poutine, I will not return to this restaurant again!

A classic in my hometown! Super fast service, excellent food, clean with a family canteen atmosphere. Whether its poutine, hamburgers, fillets... everything is good, plus you go to the counter side right after and you have your dessert at the ice cream bar :) A must in Granby!!!

Ok, as a canteen, its good...but its expensive for what it is. The poutines are good, the fries are the best in the region but damn the bill is steep. Yes I will come back but not often...

I dont understand the enthusiasm for the place. I had one of their classic bacon burger with poutine. 3/5 for the food. Where things go wrong is in terms of cleanliness: dirty toilet, no soap The clientele leaves something to be desired. Lots of unpleasant elderly people who show impatience with the children, unclassy BS who hustle to reserve a table In short, I stopped to eat there because I was passing through but I certainly wont go back. 2 stars instead of 1 because the employees are very nice!

Disappointing quantity-price ratio, too expensive for the size of the portions. Steamed hot dog in toasted buns and no cabbage inside. Parking: Behind the restaurant with plenty of seats.

Its simply excellent. The food, the portions, the welcome, the remarkable staff and the atmosphere, everything is perfect.

Our family of 4 all loved this place. One of the best poutines weve had. The brown sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of belle provincial style fries but these from Ben la paunch were crispy. The burgers were good. Quality and price I would 100% return if we are in the area. The line is long but its worth it. Service can be better but lets keep in mind that this is not a restaurant but a fast food restaurant.

Exceptional service. At Ben la Bédaine it works. I dont particularly like the red pepper sauce. Too clear. A thicker brown sauce would be in my preference. Kid-friendliness: High chair!

I went to Bens house on Friday September 13th. I dont know what happened but it wasnt really good, it was as if he had cooked their fries in oil which had to be changed. The fries were dark brown, never seen that at Bens and not so good I must admit that this is the first time that its not good at Bens

Cantine Ben La Bedaine is the perfect place for a poutine or a hot dog in a retro atmosphere! The service is fast, the portions are generous, and it really tastes like Quebec fast food at its best. Whether youre passing through Granby or a regular, its always a sure bet to satisfy a little craving.

We never tire! As soon as I pass through Granby and see the iconic sign, that s it, the idea of having a poutine there emerges in me. Although the line is sometimes discouraging, the employees are efficient and keep smiling despite the rush of customers! In short, poutine, we can never say it enough, is the best!

It s always a pleasure to come to Ben s. The Poutine is perfect and the burgers are very good. Ice cream in the evening is also a great adventure.

Too bad I missed cooking a pogo, reheated in the microwave its time to change the oil on the fries... the poutine sauce was burnt and stuck at the bottom of the cauldron, disappointing for a supposed icon of the best poutine.. full of paper packets of salt everywhere, the 2 employees who took care of the cleaning were sitting on the counter of their small cubicle.

When you ask for hot dog mustard cabbage well I expect to have cabbage not 3/4 grains of cabbage. Frankly my other one was worse enough that I was insulted and what about the bread?????!!!!! Dry ..well, we ll go straight

Rarely have I had the chance to feel like a pressure washer after a Pogo, onion rings and a bite of poutine. If you want to repaint your toilet bowl, eat this. The service and atmosphere was good.

The sauce is no longer the same

A great place to eat! A retro atmosphere which is pleasant and canteen classics which are not displeasing. My small downsides are the lack of generosity in terms of poutine. At $35 for 2 very classic trios I would have hoped for a poutine that overflows as tradition dictates. I also found the service very mechanical. It could be warmer. That said, the taste of the food is worth the detour. Im just being constructive in my comment.

La Cantine chez Ben, retro style. A united team that has worked in a friendly and joyful atmosphere for over 70 years! It is also a loyal clientele who are part of the adventure and who always motivate us to move forward. A unique atmosphere, a step back in time To see the traffic and the internal waiting line and as many at the drive-thru order. It is certain that the customers are loyal there. Several varieties of Burgers and poutines, all very tasty and delicious. A family canteen from father to son for 3 generations.

Never seen such a small hamburger in my entire life, it was embarrassing. Steamed hot dog with barely steamed toasted bread, rather dry and sad. Good poutine but small size for the price with correct cheese. Its hard to believe that so many people return there. Small anemic fries, but good, I understand why the waitress showed me that it was the small casseau. The service and cleanliness was impeccable though.

I think that reputation is overrated. The mouth-hole hot dog (its a real joke compared to the details of the condiments when ordering versus the result when eating) see photo! The service is very fast. The food is good. But I found the sauce for my poutine to be much too liquid.

I asked for a fry and received in my opinion a very small half fry. It didnt exceed the cardboard cup. For the price its outrageous. I definitely wont go back there. Too bad because I was recommended this canteen.

Really good! But poutine lacked cheese, a little disappointed at $10 for a small poutine, I was expecting more.. The bite-sized poutines are still just as good! Very good service but you dont have to be in a hurry to get there, the line is very long inside and they prioritize ordering from the drive-thru (normal, I understand). Ill go back there for sure!

The food is good, but aluminum plates and plastic forks going in the trash in 2024 arent great. Aluminum can be recycled even when soiled, adding bins to collect these containers would be a good first step. And what are you waiting for to have compostable forks?

Nothing to say about service and cleanliness. The staff is smiling, the service is fast despite a big rush and is on the lookout to clean the tables as soon as a customer leaves. Food wise its disappointing especially value for money. The burger bun is quite dry and the meat tasteless. The potatoes are good on their own but the poutine is very average.

A snack bar is very well known in the region, possibly because of its illuminated sign. The place is very busy and crowded with people, considering the popularity. The service when taking and receiving orders is generally good. Patience is required. The food is good but the portions are small compared to other restaurants. The price is quite high compared to the portions. There are other restaurants nearby like La Belle Province for example which serve the same type of food possibly at a better price or better portions. In short, its not the ideal place to eat frequently but the place to stuff your belly only occasionally.

A random restaurant where we decided to stop during our visit to Granby and what a great discovery!! The bacon poutine is one of the best poutines I have ever eaten! The fries, the sauce, the cheese, everything was delicious! Definitely worth the detour!
